Niby niszowe i budżetowe mordobicie, a jednak wykonanie klimat i muzyka przywołuje obraz największych klasyków produkcji z ery kultu filmów sztuk walki i magnetowidów.
Muzycznie, wizualnie i animacyjnie, to genialna produkcja dla każdego, kto kojarzy filmy 36 komnat Shaolin, czy też tytułowy Shaolin vs Wu Tang i im podobne. Odnajdzie tu takze cameo postaci z z Kickboxera, czy KillBill.
Gra mimo tego, że niszowa, to jest genialna produkcją, która wizualizuje i doskonale oddaje ducha klasyków z VHS.

This fighting game is highly recommended for the fighting action, and every martial artist you can think of is in this game.
Pretty sue this game being a "Love letter to classic Wutang era films" has already been said. There's a pretty good chance you'll find a character based on a movie hero or villain you love.
If you're looking for an esports level tournament fighter...you won't find it here... The engine is basic and a bit archaic. Sometimes it seems it can't keep up with your inputs. but if you play a bit of a predictive game you can work around it's faults. There's some good "Olschool" fun to be had. And I'm sure it makes a great party game.
游戏整体不错，打击顺畅连贯，打击感强，唯一一点就是AI做的太垃圾，打最高难度的都像跟幼稚园小朋友玩一样，可以看电脑对阵电脑就知道了，两个弱智在对打一样。。。跟AI多玩一会儿就会觉得没意思，不过现在也不可能有调改了。最主要的一个，进图的时候经常闪退，体验感不好

Although I haven't played very much, I think it's a fantastic game. it's very very good. If you're a sucker for old Kung Fu movies like me, pick it up. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The visuals, music, sounds, stages, and character design are all reminiscent of classic martial arts movies. This game is basically an homage to those movies and their cast. I got this and the sequel as a package for less than $4 during the summer sale. Easily worth it to enjoy looking at what you're doing on the screen.
The controls work fine. The moves I intended to do come out without any real problems. The gameplay is where this game falls short. It feels like a bad 90s Mortal Kombat clone. Hitboxes or stun doesn't feel consistent or intuitive. Spacing or priority doesn't feel like much of a consideration.
Don't get this game expecting polished combat. But do get this to acknowledge the developer's passion and effort. If you're hitting the opponent, appreciate how cool it looks. If they are hitting you, also appreciate it. If you have some fighting game experience, play around with moves and attempt combos and enjoy the view. Or a casual player can button mash and enjoy a nice spectacle.
This game is overall enjoyable so I can honestly recommend it.

Shaolin vs Wutang offers like 6 or so game modes (the usual. Training, arcade, etc), like 50 or so characters (no joke, I don't even know how many there are but there's A LOT of them) and like 20 or so stages (majority are set in China).
It pays homage to all them classic Martial Art films of the 70's, 80's and 90's. The soundtrack is pretty cool and it really does capture it's vibes.
Each character uses a different fighting style and a different weapon. At first glance there are no copies but there are a few lookalikes with similar fighting styles but all of them play different from each other, when it comes to their movelist (you watch all of them perform diffferent stuff, that is). But the basic core of the gameplay doesn't really change. Even though it has a bit of strategy in it, it's, in the end, just a mash fest 9/10 times. So beware if you want more depth.
Graphics are rather odd but charming. Looks like it came straight from a smartphone store but it also looks like an upscaled Wii game, at the same time. If you apply the film grain filter and remove all the HUD everything ends up looking pretty artsy, almost realistic, though.
And it seems the game was made by a single individual, so there's that. Honestly, it takes real skill and real patience to deliver such a project, by yourself. So keep up with the great work, developer! We need more people like you in the industry without a shadow of a doubt!
I am currently playing this on my dad's potato (and also my Switch), I've turned everything down but the effects, lowest settings.
In some ways I prefer this to the 2nd one. with the larger roster and stages. I like to play White Brow in this one. I would like to have more moves and better ways of flowing between moves with also more references to the real and exaggerated forms that the game utilises. This is what I am looking for in a fighting game in so many ways in terms of genre.
p.s. - A dream additional to a game like this for me would be sort of variations of ground in different stages, heights and props or not, like DOA5LR. A few flat ones but otherwise unique feeling maps with pretty (or foreboding on occasion or perhaps mysterious) backdrops.

Worth it on sale. dont expect Street fighter/Mortal Kombat levels of polish, Its Janky but charming, an Indie love letter to 70s-90s martial arts films. not to be taken seriously as a fighting game and compare it to the likes of Tekken etc.
Its a casual fun fighting game created by a single Dev with a passion for old action movies, admirable in its own right.

If you like old school, 1 v 1, street fighter esque video games then this is a must buy. All your favourite 70's and 80's chop socky movie heroes are here, if not in name, definitely in appearance and fighting style. The mocap, character models and animations are excellent, particularly given the budget and size of the team. Highly recommend.

The different fighting styles are cool especially the drunken master. I like that you can set it on easy mode while you're learning.

Gostei bastante deste aqui! Ele coloca a aparência de atores famosos de filmes de ação, com a trilha sonora característica e mais as diversas técnicas de artes marciais. Os comandos e combos são simples de serem executados. Uma das coisas que mais legais é a "defesa dinâmica": quando você defende um golpe, o personagem executa uma esquiva animada como nos filmes do estilo. Gostei também que apresenta diversos modos de jogo, inclusive um modo "torneio" para você jogar com a galera no sofá. Tem 30 personagens com estilos de luta únicos! Os gráficos dos personagens ainda se seguram para 2024, já os de alguns detalhes dos cenários estão batidos. Em algumas situações dá para sentir um pouco de input lag nos comandos (que não é ideal para jogos de luta). Senti falta de um modo online também. A última consideração negativa é em relação à dificuldade da CPU que não varia quase nada: jogando no "fácil" e "normal" não vi muita diferença (inclusive a dificuldade de alguns personagens podem variar muito). Em geral o saldo é positivo: não perca essa pérola.
Estou jogando em um sistema Linux utilizando o SteamPlay (Proton 9.0-2) sem problemas.
Jogo bem interessante com golpes fantásticos onde relembra os grandes lutadores do passado como Bruce lee , Jackie chan entre outros.. Vale muito a pena ainda mais na promoção. Recomendo o 1º e o 2º.

绝对小众粉丝向游戏，做的真不错，缺点就是搓招判定谜一样，很难连续搓出自己想要的招，招式衔接不连贯。无法打出帅气连击。
全程空跳轻拳+轻脚+落地脚+下前腿即可通关，我用李小龙通的，动作快，本作最爽快人物。

Shaolin Vs. Wutang is an incredible game for obvious reasons, but for another reason that isn't so obvious... Jezrun Bowman made this game pretty much single-handed. The amount of talent you have to have to capture the likenesses of various martial arts action stars, both in 2D and 3D, and in their movements and animations is absolutely mind-blowing. Taking also into account the music and level designs, and the fact that Bowman coded the whole thing, it's so inspiring to see this level of content coming out of a single person. I grew up in the early 80s and was always inspired by the games of yesteryear because these were made with one and two-man teams. This guy has set the bar incredibly high for what to expect from one developer. A fantastic experience this game is for any fan of classic Kung-Fu cinema. The combat is very well designed, and this game just delivers. Well done!

I've been sitting on this and part 2 for awhile now. I wish i would have started playing this sooner. The fighting is really fun and not to hard to pull off combos. The music is very very good in this game. I'm highly impressed by the music itself. The graphics are pretty good as well. My only real complaint is when sometimes an object breaks in the background it's so damn loud it's like a jump scare. Most the time the objects are not that loud. But the table that breaks sometimes in the restaurant stage can be loud af lol Also 30 fighters are in this ranging from bruce lee to chuck norris. all around i've been having a great time with this game. Can't wait to try part 2 out soon.
Play all your favourite real life martial artists like Bruce lee, Bolo, JCVD or pay £100 and play MK 1 with just woke characters with bad loading times and boring game play

Man erkennt den Kämpfern ihren Vorbildern an..Jetzt negativ: Sehr langsame und ungenaue Steuerung,man muß den Kämpfer daran hindern, aufzustehen,um zu gewinnen..Kein faire Runde möglich, wenn man sich nicht daran hält.Musik oft am übertreiben...Ich persönlich laße den Kämpfer wenigstens ordentlich aufstehen.
You recognize the fighters as their role models. Now negative: Very slow and imprecise controls, you have to prevent the fighter from getting up in order to win. No fair round is possible if you don't stick to it. Music often exaggerates. .Personally, I at least let the fighter stand up properly.

I have never seen a more genuine love letter to classic martial arts cinema than this. It's jank. But it's fun. And the soundtrack immediately feels like I'm watching Enter the Dragon again. Inputs are simple. It's just here to let folks do cool moves that these mfs did in the movies. Basic punch, kick, and weapon autocombos that can lead into motion input specials, a dash, back to block, two-button super, yet interestingly, a three button grab that only goes forward. It's basic. But you don't really need anything more. It's a fun time, and honestly, it's a game I have wanted for a long time but never knew that it already existed. I love a lotta fighting games that have references to legendary martial arts movie stars, but I've always wanted a game that just... has them. And this does. It has every 70s and 80s martial arts movie protag and villain you can think of. It's even got ones from movies I hadn't seen yet, and now I gotta remedy that. Easily a recommendation with its already low asking price, even lower during sales.

In diesem Indie-Titel sind so ziemlich alle Martial Arts Größen und Stile der vergangenen Dekaden vertreten. Sieh im online-Wörterbuch nach, was Dekaden heisst - Lesen soll bilden ;-)
Da saß oder vielmehr STAND der kleine Daniel vor den alten Röhrenfernsehern und ahmte begeistert die Moves von Bruce Lee und Co nach.
(Sorry Mom, so manche Deko - die Männer ohnehin nutzlos finden ^^ - ging dabei zu Bruch)
Filme wie "die Schlange im Schatten des Adlers", "Karatetiger" oder "der Mann mit der Todeskralle" zeigten meinem jungen Ich, wie cool Menschen ihren Body bewegen und nutzen können und ließen mich als Teenager erst Karate und dann Wing Tsun lernen.
Jawoll! So einen Einfluß haben Filme auf uns!

I am big fan of Jackie Chan and the character really looks like him. I also like the Bruce Lee Stage in this game! Highly recommend for martial arts fans

Both games are straight fire. Yes, it's a single developer, so it isn't as polished and smooth as it could be, but who cares?? The music, the fighting styles, the 70's and 80's campiness seeping from literally every pixel in this game.....it's all there and all S tier quality. If a third one is made, I will buy it without a second guess the second it drops. Buy these damn games right now.
could you please bring back the movie effect to the Shaolin vs wutang 2? and fighting effect and stages and combine the charactors, and clothes selection? then add some story mode and you will have a great game dudeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. great game i am switching between game because of the features. add more girls too lol!
Un juego de lucha que estoy seguro de que encantará a todos los amantes de las películas de artes marciales. Sin tanto poderes fantásticos aquí podremos encontrar muchísimos estilos basados en personajes de un montón de películas. Mención especial merecen las defensas dinámicas que se adaptan al tipo de ataque, son una pasada ya que confieren al combate mayor fidelidad a los combates cinematográficos. Una maravilla de juego.

My Kung Fu is strong and so is this game.
If you want to kick Chuck Noris' @## or face off against Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan this game for you. Some of my favorite cheesy kung fu movies are represented here. From the 36th chamber to the Five deadly venoms. If you don't know those films this game will make you curious to watch them. Ain't that the best thing about a game like this?

This is by far the best game ever! way better than Mortal Kombat
It's a great fighting game. Each charactor is a faithful re-creation of an actual karate or Kungfu master. It never get's old to try different styles.
Muy buen juego de artes marciales y con personajes de la vida real como ip man,Bruce lee,Norris entre otros recomendado si te gustan las artes marciales y el kung fu tambien hay personajes que su estilo es el muay thai apkido judo etc si necesitas una buena pc para corerlo ocn 8 gb ram lo tengo que poner en minimo todo pero aun asi se ve muy bien con esa configuracion lo recomiendo bastante
An amazing 2D Fighting game where there are no fireballs or superpower moves, just good ol' fashion fisticuffs with the greatest martial artists in kung fu cinema history!! Only played close to 2 hours and I AM HOOKED!!!!

Lo unico malo es la dificultad , para mi el facil es el medio y asi sucesivamente.
Quitando eso es tremendo. Tiene unos graficos buenisimos la musica es increible y los personajes estan muy bien.
