yeah im thinking its peak. excited to see what they add bc its really fun
GREAT game
somewhat slim currently, but its incredibly streamlined and you can tell the devs have put a lot of care into the existing set of characters and stages as well as into building a scaffold for future development. the game has a lot of neat quirks and genuinely gets my blood pumping with how intense it gets. its just overall phenomenal.
With the death of adventure mode, any continued interest in this game has died for me. i don't think this is a bad game, far from it. it's well crafted, a spectacle in motion, and truly fun, but the main draw for me was the single player. the tough almost hotline miami die and respawn loop was amazing, and now that it's not here my interest has flatlined. you can still play the old version with it which i will continue to do.
if hype moments and aura was a game, it'd be this

Nice foundation to the game, even if the total amount of content and QoL is sparse. The free version is a good way to get a handle on if you'll like it or not
Lack of players (at least for now) really sucks, but the combat is extremely unique and addicting! If you like fast pace fights and chaos but with deep mechanics then this is the game for you.
This game has more characters than 1 and better graphics but I won't say it's a better game. The character's special powers make the game have more of a learning curve- still, it's a great game for company.
Really really fun. Only issue is there aren't enough players to populate matchmaking.

This game is so much fun that it makes me cry. Why the ♥♥♥♥ is it not more popular? Seriously. 11/10 game. Get it, and play with me. Don't even care if I loose every round. It's like snorting crack.

I'm happy that Samurai gunn 2 is back after such a long hiatus!
However I feel the removal of adventure mode is just a plain bad idea. Not only are solo players who were promised an adventure mode being turned away, but players who want to enjoy a coop experience together are also being left out of enjoying such a great game as well.
A lot of people buy fighting games like Super Smash Brothers, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat for more than just the pvp. Even other pvp games like COD do. I don't think most of us here expected a huge hand crafted adventure from a small team. But I feel like the devs are abandoning a good sized audience that love the game and want to enjoy it in their own way. Plenty of couch games like Samurai Gunn have simple but fun solo/coop side modes to play.
I also want to mention that there are still plans for an in game comic, but with the removal of adventure mode I don't really get it's purpose. A lot of pvp players don't really care about that stuff, which is fine since that's not what they are playing the game for.
Luckily this is only the start of Samurai Gunn 2's new iteration and hopefully the devs could run some ideas by us players for a solo/coop mode after readding the missing characters into the new engine.
Please excuse the lack of time, as when I purchased this originally I didn’t have nearly as much access to the internet than I do now.
With that out of the way but;
I was here since earlier builds of the game’s development and while understandable why adventure mode was cut (even though the older builds CAN be accessed through the Steam beta builds) I kinda wish there was still a way to play against bots in local vs, or at least introduce an arcade ladder or survival mode (much like the first one).
Regardless I still had fun in the matches I played in the new engine build
