Ok this game is kinda strange. The core RUNNER gameplay is really solid in this game and it's a ton of fun to play, but there are some strange ideas that just kinda make the game weird, namely the vehicle segments and the retro challenges which don't really contain the same tight gameplay the series is known for. I still had fun with it though.

customizable difficulty is great, more checkpoints, fewer or no enemies, etc. make it more accessible for folks like me who only very rarely dabble in runners/rhythm games. however, [b]non-rebindable controls[/b], especially in a game like this, make it a lot less accessible and completely unacceptable. they never had plans to add rebinding, already bad enough, but they didn't even bother to list every available key in-game, had to search [url=https://steamcommunity.com/app/516130/discussions/0/1693795812311414744/]the forums[/url] for a full list. ♥♥♥♥ off. and if you play without enemies, kick won't be tutorialized, you'll first face it (sans prompt) during a boss fight.

furthermore: settings, controls and the exit button are only available in the main menu, not level select and definitely not while playing a level, so forfeit progress and press esc 15 times, or try random keys with each attempt. ♥♥♥♥ off. regularly not being able to see where you're going or falling because of the scenery and the constantly changing camera angles is another ♥♥♥♥ move, on top of random ♥♥♥♥ suddenly appearing right in front of you. these would be bad enough on their own, but some of it has to be done while the character is sped up. what joy.

the narrator becomes annoying after a while but muting it won't remove the wait before starting a level or the game itself, as obviously lines still play silently. the world 3 music is horrible too but turning off music in a rhythm game is not a great idea. and menu navigation sfx seems to ignore volume settings, making it really loud regardless.

can't remember how difficulty worked in runner 2, pretty sure it wasn't this customizable (neither were the controls btw), but I got further there (gave up somewhere in world 5), whereas here I stopped near the end of world 3 with the vertical fans and precise landing positions and zero checkpoints.

I'll be honest when I say this: even as a long time fan of the BIT.TRIP series, Runner3, as a BIT.TRIP game, is the weakest in the series. BUT, even then, it's not a bad game, it's actually pretty decent and fun. It's just that in comparison to its predecessor, Runner2, and the rest of a BIT.TRIP series as a whole, it feels weak.

Again, it's not a bad game. It has its own charm and the gameplay is fun enough. It's filled with content and unlockables and good replay value. It even has Charles Martinet as both a narrator and a playable character, which is honestly incredible. The thing is, the fact that it's so different from the past BIT.TRIP games is both a good and bad thing. The good news about it is that it's pretty hilarious and wacky, by far this is the most comedic game in the whole franchise. Some awesome yet sometimes silly music, jokes, and more. At the same time, though, it's so wacky that it looks almost nothing like a BIT.TRIP game. If I knew nothing about this game's existence, I don't think i'd even be able to tell it's part of the series if you showed me a screenshot of it out of context without any of the classic BIT.TRIP elements/characters in said screenshot.

For all its flaws, though, I do NOT believe it's a dumpster fire of a game that shouldn't be played. I'm open minded enough that in my opinion, even though I believe it's the weakest and most out-of-place game in the BIT.TRIP series, it's still a good game. It's no BIT.TRIP FLUX, (which is my favorite game in the series; shame that one is not on Steam) but at the end of the day it's still worth playing. In fact, I was pretty hyped over it when I got it on Switch first and was still happy to buy it again on Steam. But if you're repulsed by anything in Runner3 regardless of whether you're a fan of BIT.TRIP or new to the series, you might want to steer clear of this game. Otherwise, Runner3 is still worth playing.

Runner3 is one of those games that could have been really strong but ultimately falls flat. There's some really good bits & bobs in here that get overshadowed by the developer overwringing the core concept to the detriment of enjoyable gameplay.

[h3]The good[/h3]
They did expand the gameplay from RUNNER and Runner2 by the introduction of the double-jump and ground pound. From the get-go, these both help the player learn that there's more than one way to skin a cat, and that mistakes can be recovered form with fast enough reactions. The first two games were far less forgiving, and this adjustment gives the player greater agency.

The level design eventually catches up with this mechanic and it's largely exploited pretty well, making the player think quickly (especially with Speed Gates introduced, doubling Commander Video's speed) and leading to some satisfying Running.

Levels now have a gold path the player must complete first to progress, followed by a harder gem path. These gem paths were usually the more interesting.

Accessibility is further increased here from Runner2 with difficulty managed through obstacle density and checkpoint frequency. Where as the original game (like much of the BIT.TRIP series) was unapologetically hardcore in terms of gameplay loop, Runner3 allows itself to be beatable in some way shape or form by almost anybody - that's a good thing, in my book. (Not that I have a problem with how RUNNER or the BIT.TRIP series more widely handled things. But I don't have any accessibility issues that I'd be unqualified to talk about anyway...)

However, these positives are significantly overshadowed by...

[h3]The bad[/h3]
The most egregious nonsense in this game is the horrific camera angle switching. RUNNER and Runner2 were unashamedly 2d and they worked all the better for that. I criticised elements of Runner2, but compared to this it was a masterpiece. All too frequently, Runner3 would have the camera pan to some weird angle to make depth or height perception near impossible and increased reliance on rote learning sections... ugh!

Combine this with vehicle sections and you have a double whammy of awful vehicle sections and we have some pretty dreadful gameplay. Beating any of these levels first try whilst achieving a Perfect (all gold collected) is nigh-on impossible. Sure, these sections are eminently beatable, and far from the trickiest things to contend with, but they're dull, boring and antithetical to Runner.

How either of these got past play-testing is beyond me.

The retro worlds are just a series of bland 2d platformer levels that aren't really worth bothering with.

The music is also pretty lacklustre, consisting of fairly tedious loops that lack much life and relying on the gold and gems to do the heavy lifting, but they're not up to the task. World 4 of Runner2 had pretty bad music - that's the bar for nearly all of Runner3 (the Impossible levels excepted, but you only get that one track for nine levels).

Springs are no longer melodic but make a generic "boing" sound effect that adds nothing to the experience.

Blocking beats is no longer a thing, one of the strongest obstacles of the first two games. I imagine this is because of the camera-switching nonsense, meaning the left and right dpad are needed to move left and right with the camera behind. I really missed beat-blocking.

Controls - don't even bother on keyboard. The path-switching mechanic completely screws up any sensible mapping. I never bothered and went straight to the controller (I completed all gold in RUNNER (excl. Retro) and Runner2 (including Retro) and 100% in RERUNNER on keyboard with no issues). Controls cannot be rebound for some reason. The keybinds on controller are intuitive and responsive enough, though - I picked them up seamlessly.

[h3]The meh[/h3]
The story is completely superfluous, adding or detracting nothing.

There's a lot of filler collectables that necessitate revisits of some levels (they're off the gold path in many cases) - do yourself a favour and either skip them or toggle the difficulty settings to the easiest. I'm not convinced skipping this means you're missing out on anything.

The whimsy from Runner2 seems to be in overdrive here. Again, it's nothing that makes or breaks the game in any way. Charles Martinet turns in a decent performance as the Narrator, but if that wasn't in the game at all you'd really be none the wiser.

[h3]Conclusion[/h3]
Runner3 made me appreciate what a good game Runner2 was. My review of that game was quite harsh (but, fair, I think), but I had no hesitation to recommend it.

I can't say the same here. This one definitely feels like it should have "Mixed" reviews; I'm quite baffled how, at the time of writing, they're "mostly positive".

This one's worth skipping if you're not absolutely committed to getting through all of the Runner games. The other three are far superior and a better use of hard earned cash.

Я поиграл в Runner3, хочется сказать что игра очень хороша! На первый взгляд она показалась мне чересчур странной, но к этому можно быстро привыкнуть.
Механика с двойным прыжком мне по началу тоже показалась лишней, но сейчас могу сказать что это было довольно необычное решение разнообразить геймплей третьего раннера перед остальными. Могу также отметить что музыка в этой части серии самая лучшая. Абсолютно все саундтреки можно слушать долго. Игра в отличии от BIT.TRIP и Раннера2 не такая скучная, практически каждый уровень в ней владеет кучей событий, сменой ракурсов, и всё это создаёт интерес и приносит эмоции во время прохождения.
Из минусов могу сказать что ретро уровни лично мне не понравились, они превращают Раннер3 в Платформер3, да и графически они не очень. Мультяшный стиль красив, но в большинстве случаев некоторые модельки выглядят не очень красиво.

Я рекомендую вам поиграть в Раннер3, потому что она очень хороша музыкой и геймплеем!

Played on Switch originally, got here on sale. Opinions haven't changed much; it's attempt to go all in for the zany and whimsical design from Runner2 weakens the gameplay drastically from the first two games. Level design leans heavily to replaying levels multiple times that would have been better as single levels instead. Not to mention holding back gems and collectibles meaning you HAVE to replay levels multiple times for completion. It's not necessarily a bad game, but falls short of the expectations of being the third game in the series. Your time is better spent playing Runner2 or more recently BIT.TRIP RERUNNER.

The fluid, cancel-able moves make the skill ceiling even higher than before, and every challenge feels possible no matter how hard.

建議:

2.寶石關也提供金條收集所以金條關可以專心收集任務道具就好
3.想專心解任務時可調整難度把敵人、金條、寶石全都拿掉

A super solid game that I'm surprised I didn't try out until now, even when I'm a BIT.TRIP fan.

I have a couple of complaints, mostly belonging to visual touches on characters (specifically the lack thereof), but those are moreso my bias towards Runner 2, which I favour a bit higher over this one.

As much as I really want to like Runner3, it feels so far removed from the the first two Runners and it's got really weird gameplay changes (and why do all the levels feel so much longer? maybe cause they had to fit a hundred gold in each of them for some reason). I loved Runner2 on the Xbox 360 so much so that it's one of only 4 games that I have 100% of the achievements in. The simplicity of the movement, the perfect and upbeat soundtrack and the incredible narration kept me going through I don't even know how many hours of extremely fun and simple gameplay.

Runner3 is no different in any single one of these aspects. Everything from the controls, to the visual and level design, to the perfectly crafted difficulty of the "impossible" levels seems to be perfectly in line with the games they've put out in the past.

Thanks for another great game guys, and please make a Runner4.

Ouhlala. Mais que s'est-il passé ? Le jeu est correctement noté, donc visiblement ça doit venir de moi, mais je trouve ce Runner3 vraiment en deçà du précédent opus. Pour moi, les nouvelles mécaniques sont venues détruire tout ce qui faisait le sel de la série. Mais genre, il n'y a plus rien qui va :p.

Alors déjà, l'angle de caméra a changé. Elle n'est plus exactement sur le côté, mais légèrement un peu plus derrière le personnage. Elle va même de temps en temps carrément se placer derrière dans certaines phases. Je trouve que ça rend souvent la distance avec les obstacles difficile à appréhender. Et on a un peu l'impression de perdre ce côté runner exigeant pour juste du plateformer avec un personnage qui court tout seul. Ensuite, c'est peut-être un détail, mais la musique n'est plus du tout liée au gameplay. Certes les lingots d'or forment une mélodie lorsqu'on les ramasse tous, mais ça ne s'harmonise pas très bien à l'ensemble. Il y a d'ailleurs trop de lingots d'or, et les niveaux sont bien trop longs. C'était justement l'une des force des deux jeux précédents de varier les rythmes avec des niveaux courts et des niveaux plus longs. Il y a également beaucoup plus de checkpoint, et on ne retrouve plus ce sentiment de risques et récompense en les évitant (oui on peut changer ça dans les options, mais c'est bien plus intéressant selon moi de l'intégrer aux niveaux). Il n'y a plus non plus ce petit plaisir de se dire que l'on peut faire un niveau à 100% du premier coup. Là non, il faut terminer un niveau une première fois pour débloquer de nouveaux chemins pour un autre 100% du niveau avec les gemmes. La mécanique de changer de chemins ne sert d'ailleurs quasiment que si on refait les niveaux.

Le contenu du jeu est je trouve faussement important. Je n'ai vraiment pas eu envie de refaire les niveaux pour trouver toutes les gemmes ou les machins cachés. Il n'y a que trois mondes (heureusement j'ai envie de dire, la torture aura été plus courte que prévue), et globalement vous voyez le bout en 3h. D'autant que les boss sont nuls à chier. Alors oui il y a des niveaux bonus, mais en difficulté normale, ils sont tout bonnement infaisables. Vous pourrez enfin débloquer carrément trois mondes bonus en trouvant des VHS, et je peux dire qu'au moins je ne m'attendais pas à ça :p. Ces mondes bonus sont des petits niveaux très très courts... de plate-forme, où vous pouvez bouger comme bon vous semble, sauter et frapper, le but étant de ramasser des pièces et de trouver la sortie. Honnêtement, c'est très cheap. Mais bon, ça existe, et ça permet de débloquer des skins rigolos.

Et j'en viens à ce qui m'a complètement tué, les nouvelles mécaniques de gameplay, et notamment le double-saut. Je sais que c'est impossible de parfaitement illustrer ce que j'ai ressenti manette en main, mais pour moi, ce double-saut vient détruire tout le level design. En plus de ça, il est maintenant possible de provoquer une sorte d'attaque rodéo en appuyant sur "bas" en étant en l'air, c'est-à-dire que vous chutez plus vite si vous le faites. C'est simple, certains ennemis et plate-forme n'ont alors plus aucun sens. On peut sauter par-dessus les trucs à détruire ou les ennemis pour lesquels il faut se baisser, descendre plus vite pour ressauter à partir d'une plate-forme pour passer au-dessus de tout une série de trucs, etc... Le pire, c'est les marches prévues pour des sauts simples avec des ennemis dessus ; il faut timer son double-saut de manière à ne pas se prendre les rebords, et la plupart du temps ça se fait au pif total. Alors ok, le jeu marche quand même hein, mais on a complètement perdu ce côté maîtrise du level design et du rythme.

Bref, ça m'a énervé. J'ai vraiment l'impression que le jeu n'est juste pas fini. Je suis certain que le jeu peut plaire malgré tout, et il faut dire aussi que je l'ai enchainé directement après le deuxième opus, mais je pense que si vous recherchez justement les mêmes vibes que Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, vous ne les trouverez pas. Si vous voulez vraiment retrouver quelque chose de récent d'un peu similaire, tournez-vous plutôt vers le très cool OlliOlli World, qui conjugue à merveille défilement horizontal, scoring et habileté.

Voilà. Reverra-t-on CommanderVideo dans une meilleure aventure ? Je ne sais pas trop ce qui est arrivé à Gaijin Games / Choice Provisions, mais comme le disait le dernier Dúnedain, il y a toujours de l'espoir.

Runner 3 is a pretty good continuation of the bit trip runner series. I really enjoyed the 3d aspect of the game, although I wish they would have leaned into it more then they did. The flying car and rail modes are really fun, but again wish there was more of it. If you liked bit trip runner 2, pick this game up whenever its on sale, you will enjoy it. Most of the levels are pretty easy, but if you turn the difficulty up to 150% some can be fairly challenging. The last challenge level is legitimately hard and will make your thumb hurt.

i went into runner 3 really wanting it to be good. it was just OKAY. if you are looking to just buy an action rhythm autorunner with no background experience with the franchise, you will like it a lot more than i did.

the game feels like it was made by a completely different team who didn't play the first two runner games and were tasked with making a mobile game. ignoring the huge shift in tone both visually and narratively, the level design is way worse than runner 1 and 2.

-lots of poorly telegraphed obstacles and visual clutter plagues every level and most of your deaths will be from cheap obstacles that could have benefited from better visual design.
-double jumping makes the game way too floaty compared to the precise controls that made the original games super fun to play and often gets in the way when climbing up stairs.
-vehicles are boring at best and annoying to control at worst. these could have been scrapped entirely
-the levels are all designed to be replayable. if you want to 100% the game you need to play through every level at least twice assuming you don't mess up the bonus game at the end of every level, plus scavenger hunts for achievements and hero quests. the rewards for the hero quests are good but be ready to consult a guide for a lot of the hidden collectables
-if you don't want to 100% complete the game, runner 3 is VERY short. i completed all the main levels and a handful of retro and impossible levels in just over 3 hours of playtime

everything else i kind of liked. the music is good, the impossible levels were a fun challenge and charles martinet returns as the narrator. not a bad game but also not a great one. i definitely recommend checking out the rest of the series because the rest of the games are way better than this entry. i would wait for a good sale to pick up this game

A very solid rhythm based obstacle course. I like it less than the second installment, mostly because it feels like it has less charme to it and some clunky interactions at times.

I also really miss the small sounds from the second game when you evaded or kicked an obstacle, they really added to the musical fidelity.

If you just look for a game like this, get the second one instead. If you want more of it, this is a solid choice when it's on sale.

From Runner 2 to Runner 3 it's more of the same you would expect. The difficulty options are a nice touch. The main game is some what easy even with the difficulty at max. Definitely play the impossible levels with the difficulty maxed for a real challenge.

What an abomination compared to the rest of the series.
TLDR; if you're a fan of Bit.Trip Runner & Runner2, avoid this like the plague.
At first I was dubious about the other reviews on steam but it really is horrendous.
- There is so much going on in the background you sometimes think part of the background is terrain to avoid
- All the levels (from what I can tell) are 100 gold bars. If you've played the other games, you realise how long this makes each level. Which is going to be a massive pain in the *** if you want to attempt a bullseye perfect+ for each level
- They've completely messed up the controls and you can't even change the default keybinds through the game (the devs recommend steam big picture). To give an example of how bad this is, E, Q and U are all used to dance. I could play the others with 1 hand on my keyboard, now they expect me to use K to kick
- The soundtrack is weak compared to the other entries; slapstick sounds and such
- Vehicles. They added vehicles
First time I've gone out of my way to review a game before attempting to refund it.

I'm only a few hours in, but I'm loving it so far. I'll start by saying that Runner 2 holds a special place in my heart and is one of my favorite games of all time. This game definitely strays a little farther from that game's formula, but I admire the developers for taking risks and trying new things. Specifically, I don't like when the camera zooms in super close or the sections where you are flying. The controls feel a little more fiddly in these parts and it takes me out of that trance of feeling like my fingers are moving on their own as if playing an instrument.

The additions that I love is the double jump and that pressing down makes you quickly slam to the floor. This gives the controls a new level of snappiness. I also love that they expanded on the secrets and bonuses from Runner 2. There's a lot of extras to encourage you to replay levels and find every last thing.

All in all, I am very happy with my purchase and I can't wait to keep playing more.

This is a much more "meh" review, and I'm not even finished playing it yet. But I want to air my thoughts before I forget this game and move onto something else.

I like a lot about this game: the themes of the worlds, the music, the challenge (at times...), and the puppet shows. But my main issues come down to this:

1) The lag. If your computer can handle playing Runner2, it may not be able to run Runner3 without lagging being a significant issue. I could run Runner2 with all the default graphical settings and, as far as I can remember, never dealt with lag more than once or twice. Runner3's updated graphics and increased enemy count made my computer lag even when I reduced my graphics settings and got rid of all the enemies. It very well may not be the case for everybody else, but it's worth warning.

2) Difficulty. Runner2's difficulty creep felt very natural and struck a good balance between being hard enough to be a challenge, but easy enough that it didn't make me rip my hair out. Runner3, though, smushes very hard levels or sections right beside ridiculously easy ones. It doesn't feel very coherent or natural. This is only anecdotal evidence, but the boss of World 2 was not only easier than the boss of World 1, but also probably... most of the levels I had played up until then?

Anyways, I don't hate this game. I'm going to finish it out eventually. But it isn't as addicting as the previous game.

Bit.Trip Runner brought a cool concept, whereas Runner 2 perfected it. Runner3... What happened?
Starting with a positive note, Charles Martinet is a fantastic narrator, as always.
Unfortunately, this is where my praise ends. Runner 3 is a departure from its rhythm-runner predecessors. Plenty of actions in the levels are often not cued properly with the music, including the new double jump. The longer length of the stages mixed with the slower pace of the game doesn't help either. Vehicles are also very frustrating to drive.

Don't even get me started on the retro levels. (They're much too punishing.)

The style of the second installment had much better art-style and feel to me. There seems to be a lot less personality and care in the levels in this game compared to the second, and instead just feels like a bunch of placed 3D assets made for you to put the right inputs in to win. I get that's what the games are at their core, but the second really didn't feel that way. It felt much more like a tailored experience each and every level.

I also just don't really like the design of a lot of the 3D art in the game including Commander Video himself, why does he have a gross buttcrack in his character model? A lot of the audio in the levels is kind of gross as well, fart noises and the like. Just overall feels like a grosser experience than the other two, and not in a good way. If you want to play a Runner game, play the second one. It oozes personality, vibes, and care from the creators. This one is a bit cheaper overall and feels more like a last-time money grab of the concept.

It's got too much extra garbage in it compared to the other games.

Bit.Trip Runner is one of my favorite games of all time, 10/10
Bit.Trip Presents Runner 2 Future Legend of Rhythm Alien is also great 9/10
Runner3 has the shortest name and the most filler, the only one in the series I have yet to 100% the achievements, and the only one that caused me to lose interest and entirely forget it even exists. The Challenge levels are the only good parts, but they even added too much to them like the slam thing, it's all just kinda lame.

Don't get me wrong, I recommend this game but, just barely. If I had to give it a rank I'd say it's a 6/10.

The music is passable, the level design can be infuriating (sometimes because of the camera, other times because of the cheap placement of hazards), the hitboxes are all over the place.

Good things I have to say about the game: the variety of worlds, the multiple playable characters, tons of levels, replayability.

If you liked the previous games, get it (but only when it's on sale).

quite fun, very good soundtrack. unfortunately if you're the type that came from BIT.TRIP RUNNER or Runner2, don't expect very much content-wise. i could be wrong here, as i've amassed much more experience with these games over the years, but a normal run (i.e., just completing the normal levels) of this game is a LOT shorter than the previous installments. the Retro Stages (no, not Retro Challenges; those are different) stink and nearly appear to be a last-minute addition (sprites are low quality, movement mechanics feel very janky). thankfully, if you're a fan of the series, i would recommend this just for the sake of owning it at the very least.

overall, it's alright. what it lacks in length it makes up for in difficulty.

7/10? yeah, that's about right.

As a big Runner2 fan hearing stuff about this game, I went in expecting just a less polished version of that game. And it's true that it doesn't do everything as well; the music mode changes are more subtle and the tracks themselves lack the serenity. I've had a few instances where I wasn't collecting stuff it looked like I was touching. And the new character designs lean a bit too far into the ugly factor Runner2 started.

But with that being said, this game was still a blast to play and a delightful sequel as well.

• The controls are great; the new double jump and ground pound vastly improve the game feel and benefit the level design.
• The dynamic camera adds a lot more life and energy to every level. It can occasionally be distracting but I wasn't too bothered, if anything it complemented the challenge of timing jumps to the beat.
• The visuals can be downright gorgeous, between the excellent background work and the improved character animations. And the theming varies much more between different levels in the same world.
• There's not as many levels as in Runner2 but they have multiple paths so you can play each one twice, and there's even more to collect as well. And they feel a bit less repetitive since, as I mentioned, there's much more varied theming throughout each world.
• The music, while not quite as good as Runner2's, still has some absolute bangers.
• The difficulty has more intricate adjustments now, rather than just the vague "easy medium hard" settings. Speaking of challenge, the handful of optional challenge levels top any tough levels Runner2 presented.
• You can play as Charles Martinet. And you can give him a mustache. Come on.

I don't think it'll top or even match Runner2 for everyone, but if you enjoyed Runner2 then you'd be missing out by skipping this.

Really sad to give this a thumbs down.
The game has heart and humor which really counts for something!

That being said, the game misses the beat when it comes to gameplay.

I simply struggle to get in a state of flow in Runner 3 which was the great thing about the former two games. Suddenly your reflexes take over, you tune in to the music and it feels like your are playing an instrument. A very rewarding and satisfying feeling! I simply dont get this in Runner3.
Is like playing guitar hero, but where the camera suddenly flips, the colours change or you get dust or a type of minigame(Car/plane segments) thrown in your face.

Runner3 has many good things and ideas (Great with the difficulty system and challenge levels!) But despite me being good at the game and completing it on the hardest difficulty in 3 hours (BTW a very short campain! ) im more frustated than focused.- and simply because of that i cannot recommend the game. Play runner 2 or 1 instead!

Her bölümde toplamda 100tane gold bar ve 25 gem var . Öncelikle ilk amaç 100gold barı bölümde toplamak tabi isterseniz direk toplamadan da geçebilirsiniz,ama oyun bir ritim oyunu ve yaptığınız her hareket müziğe ritim katıyor. Bölümleri bir kez geçince gem run açılıyor burda ise aynı bölümde farklı bir yola gidip 25 adet gem toplamaya çalışıyorsunuz. Gem run normal seviyeden çok daha zor oluyor.

What a fantastic game. I've been a fan of Bit.trip runner since I was in elementary school, I even made a little commander video out of clay in art class (which looked really bad looking back) and to tell you the truth this series has been sort of a guilty pleasure of mine, it's guilty because it's a simple runner game not because the games are bad mind you.

Runner 3 is very similar to the past two games, however runner 3 goes above and beyond to fix the issues that everyone including myself complained about in previous entries. There's multiple difficulty options for more/less checkpoints, less monsters or more if you prefer and stair assist which helps with multiple jumps.

On top of all this, Runner 3 sports the slickest, smoothest controls in the series. jumping, sliding, and kicking just feels perfect and it never feels like it's the game's fault when you die in this game and that's a great thing. There are 2 big mechanics Runner 3 introduces, the first one being you can double jump which both allows for more leniency in the platforming but also introduces new level designs and platforming potential along with it. The second thing is you can now perform a "ground slam" by pressing down while in mid-air to instantly slam to the floor. This mechanic in particular changes the entire game, now you can get past multiple obstacles in succession quickly and with more ease.

Now I know what you're thinking, they dumbed this series down with all these changes and made it too easy didn't they? Nope, not even close. This game still busted my balls and I spent hours on certain levels (dear god I am having flashbacks to the final impossible level) generally this game is easier than the other two but I also find it more fun than the other two as well. And that's not to say it's a baby game now because Runner 3 has unlockable "impossible" levels, levels that in my personal opinion are a virtual violation of the geneva convention. A practice in abject cruelty, these levels will drive you insane and if I'm being honest I don't recommend trying these out unless you're weird like me.

Runner 3 is the best game in the series in my opinion. It's got refined controls and difficulty, tons of unlockables and replayability and plenty of options for hardcore players as well. I have no complaints really, besides that final impossible level raising my blood pressure to heart attack inducing levels. If you've never played one before, I definitely recommend this as the first one you try out.

Sinon le jeu améliore le système de jeu des deux précédents et reste bien dans sa direction artistique qui garde les forme des deux opus précédents aussi.
Petit bémol pour les effets de caméra qui parfois peuvent perturber, mais ne sont pas désagréable dans l'ensemble.

Tried for 15 minutes to get xbox 360 controller support functioning, eventually giving up and requesting a refund. There forum posts by the developer more than three years old that say they are aware of the issue and are working on a solution. However, you can still give them money and enjoy the rousing experience of getting a game to correctly respond to controller input (something even the most inept game developers don't seem to have a problem doing). They really need to update the product desciption so it no longer shows controller support.

1 is indie hardcore, 2 adds some better visuals/moves/characters/mini games/presentation/contend
3 adds 2.5d/double jump/vehicles/gems/impossible maps and is work with the same flow as the 2 b4!

Terzo capitolo della serie in cui si corre automaticamente verso destra, in Runner3 si continua a correre verso destra facendo anche le solite mosse per distruggere i diversi ostacoli tipo scivolate e calci.

Possiamo giocare nei panni di CommanderVideo, CommandGirlVideo o altri improbabili personaggi che sbloccheremo facendo alcune subquest, ma non cambia praticamente niente tra uno e l’altro, solo la skin.

La differenza più marcata rispetto agli altri capitoli è che stavolta non si corre “dritti” sul normale asse orizzontale, bensì con una certa inclinazione della telecamera a ¾. Dopo un po’ ci si abitua, ma rimane una scelta strana che spesso fa sbagliare i comandi perché non è semplice capire l’angolazione dei nemici e gli atterraggi. In alcune sezioni l’angolazione cambia ancora, passando a quella più dritta tipo sparatutto a quella sull’altro asse tipo gioco di macchine. Davvero strano e non proprio riuscitissimo.

Il gioco è diviso in 3 mondi con una decina di livelli ciascuno e un boss alla fine, più alcuni segreti e “Impossibili”, che non sono realmente impossibili ma parecchio difficili sì. In ogni livello, come consuetudine, ci sono 100 barre d’oro da raccogliere, ma stavolta pure 25 diamanti che sono piazzati lungo un percorso alternativo. Quindi bisogna rifare ogni livello almeno 2 volte per prendere tutto, sono abbastanza lunghi ma ci sono dei checkpoint.
Molti livelli contengono anche personaggi nascosti che ci daranno delle subquest, praticamente [i]“Prendi questi 3 oggetti che ora sono comparsi in altrettanti livelli”[/i]… e anche questo costringe a rigiocare di nuovo gli stessi livelli per cercarli.
Vi basta? Se no, ci sono delle VHS segrete che sbloccano un minigame platform in ciascun mondo, con movimenti liberi in brevi livelli inediti un po’ tutti uguali che non servono a molto a parte allungare il brodo.

Graficamente ha belle idee per i (soli) 3 mondi, ma prevedibilmente si ripetono spesso. Le musiche sono del solito tipo elettronico e il doppiaggio è affidato a Charles Martinet, la voce di Mario (non Chris Pratt), che compare anche in un cameo come personaggio giocabile. Come narratore, Charles interviene… anche troppo, con diverse presentazioni non skippabili ogni volta che si avvia il gioco e in filmatini-musical facoltativi da sbloccare, con una sovrabbondanza di battutine e giochi di parole al pericoloso limite tra il divertente e il cringe.

Un gioco quindi con TANTO contenuto, persino troppo visto che le cose da fare sono più o meno sempre le stesse, al punto che all’ennesima ripetizione di un certo livello ci si inizia ad annoiare. Tanto autocitazionismo e tentativi quasi troppo smaccati di essere [i]cool[/i] lo rendono sì un titolo carino, ma un gradino sotto i capitoli precedenti nonostante uno stile grafico migliore e più contenuto – i livelli Impossibili però meritano.

Runner2 was a game I radnomly picked up after watching Total Biscuit's WTF Is... video on it. I was surprised by how much I ended up enjoying it. I would eventually go on to get triple perfects on every level and has a blast doing it. I found the connection between your movments and the music super satisfying, loved the sound design, and enjoyed the wacky world of it all. I was super pumped for Runner3, especially after they announced Eddie Riggs as a guest character.

However, I became very frustrated with this game very quickly. I found it much more challenging for than the second game, but for reasons I would consider bad.

- The music feels much more limited and premade in this game. I never felt like the moves I was or wasn't making impacted the sound. As a result, the repetition in the tracks was much harder to get into a groove with the movements. I also found the music much more repetitive.

- The graphics are a little too flashy for me and I don't think there is enough differentiation between layers. Things fly at the screen all the time, so I made mistakes because I could not see an obstacle rather than user error.

- There are some vehicle sections that feel very out of place. Rather than being the type of thing where you jump from lane to lane, you have to try to hit exact spots in between obstacles and the controls on it don't feel tight enough for this type of game.

My favorite levels were easily the challenge levels. Graphically there is muhc less going on and I really felt I was changing the music much more. Even though I am not skilled enough to complete most of the challenges, I still enjoyed them more than the regular ones because of the gameplay.

I've never been more pained to give a game a thumbs down than this, but Runner 3 suffers from the dilemma faced by other games that managed to perfect their genre in a previous iteration... where do we go to from here? The answer is almost inevitably always "backwards". Runner 2 took everything that made the first Runner great and expanded on it, creating what is, in my opinion, the definitive Runner game. For the 3rd chapter, all the additions serve only to detract from the overall experience. Having the action obscured by things in the foreground? Not needed. Having bonus flying levels with extremely floaty controls? Completely unnecessary.

Look, this isn't a terrible game. It's just such a step in the wrong direction for the series that I can't in good conscious give it a thumbs up. I would rather replay the 2nd game again than play any more of this.

Bem, lembro que conheci Bit.trip.Runner em 2014 nas férias escolares de junho procurando em fóruns e sites a fora joguinhos de ritmo em 2d, nem tinha conta na steam ainda, enquanto meus amigos falavam de fifa e battlefild o tempo todo, foi aí que descobri um personagem chamado CommanderVideo que vc jogava com ele ao ritmo da música, se não me engano o primeiro que joguei foi na Gog, o bit.trip.runner 2, eu viciei nesse jogo e queria fazer mais que 100% nele, jogava direto que já tinha decorado cada nivel na mente, e não eram poucos, no final de 2017 fiquei sabendo que os desenvolvedores estavam preparando uma sequência ainda melhor(segundo eles mesmo), então aquela emoção tomou conta de mim, a ansiedade a mil, pra quando finalmente o jogo foi lançado vir aquela decepção, o jogo é aparentemente mais lento que seu antecessor, mecânicas novas, mas de primeira não foi bem aceita, e parecia muito mais fácil que o antecessor, pois aguardava na maior expectativa um bela continuação, pra mim que estava tão familiarizado com o 2 achei o 3 uma piada, e acabei nem terminando o jogo, até que um dia parei pra pensar um pouquinho, e resolvi dá uma chance, pois não era justo dizer que o jogo era ruim ao tentar comparar com o outro, resolvi começar um novo save, tendo em mente que seria algo novo, sem tentar comparar com o antigo, e foi aí que comecei a me divertir novamente, entendendo as novas habilidades e modos de jogo, logo percebi que não era tão lento quanto pensava, pois o campo de visão do jogador tornou-se maior, dando a impressão que as coisas apareciam e desapareciam mais devagar, o nível de dificuldade foi reformulado, se tornando ainda mais difícil no modo normal, sem falar do próprio modo difícil, ainda pra variar puseram o modo impossível que de fato é quase impossível, a trilha sonora não tenho o que reclamar, ficou muito boa também, o que queria ressaltar mas não chega a ser ruim, é devido a quantidade de quests e coisas adicionais durante o jogo, o modo história acabou sendo bem curto, em menos de 2h vc já termina, claro se vc apenas ir jogando linearmente sem fazer missões secundárias, então apesar dos gráficos e cenários bonitinhos, esse jogo te dá umas boas dose de raiva pra passar algumas telas, mesmo após termina-lo umas 3 vezes, eu ainda não consegui pegar 100%.
Para quem gosta de jogo de ritmo e 2D junto é uma boa oportunidade, e de forma geral eu recomendo jogar, pois nem sempre a nossa primeira impressão de jogo é a que fica.

I love the past two runners but this is simply horrible. The camera purposefully moves around, obscuring incoming obstacles and the same goes for the background that at some points of each level becomes a foreground - yeah, have fun with that; many of the said obstacles appear too late for you to react, so instead of relying on your reflexes, like in the past, GOOD runners, you now have to remember when to make your move; the collectibles are put in places that require you to be pixel-precise; the boss fights are easier than the first level of Tetris; and OMG don't get me started on those freaking vehicles, what mind decided putting cars and bikes and planes and mine carts in this game is a good idea. Overall, if you are a fan of the series, pirate this, like I should have, because the development team doesn't deserve a penny.

Let's say you are playing a platformer and you have a jump coming up. You run up, measure the distance and jump. After you jump a giant rock comes out nowhere and crushes you where you land. You only see half of the rock because a giant mushroom flew by your camera and covered it, which decided to rotate in response, giving you motion sickness. There was absolutely no way you could have known about the rock. Meanwhile a cheap ripoff of generic halloween music is playing on a loop in the background. Later you find out you have a magic rock dodging button the game decided to spring on you and the location of the button on your controller was written on an owl in the background 5 km away.

Repeat this about 100 times, then you get this game.

This is why you don't buy day 1. This game is a disappointment when compared to Runner2. The music not as good (subjective), and there's inconsistency in the rhythm at times when collecting the gold bars. At this point, Get it on sale at a deep discount...like I did.

Après Bit.Trip.Runner et Bit.Trip. présente Runner 2, Runner 3 fini son émancipation de la série originale des Bit.Trip. et ce en ayant toujours plus de (bon) contenu et de (bonnes) idées que la dernière fois !

En plus des chemins normaux où il vous faudra récupérer 100 d'or dans chaqu'un des niveaux, on trouve l'ajout des chemins de gemmes plus durs où cette fois ci vous aurez 100 d'or et 25 gemmes à récupérer, et même en la présence de seul 27 niveaux, 4 boss et 3 monde rétros (qui optent pour un gameplay bienvenu de jeu de platforme), la rejouabilité est présente avec en plus des quêtes héroïques débloquant des personnages. De plus, l'opus prend entièrement partie du passage complet à la 3D avec des mouvements de caméra dynamiques, et propose des défis plus durs ainsi que des options de contrôle de la difficulté pour accueillir les néophytes !

Au final : c'est ce que je résumerais en "la suite parfaite" : Tout en gardant le concept de base, elle fait mieux que le précédents en proposant plus et mieux à toutes classes de joueurs, les connaisseurs comme les débutants.

Plateformer/runner.

Un excellent jeu dans la lignée du 2 mais avec un gameplay bien plus touffu. L'ajout du double saut est une super idée, le level design l'exploite pleinement et une fois qu'on maitrise c'est du bonheur. Seconde très bonne idée, la possibilité de paramétrer la difficulté. Tout à fond, gros challenge, tout au minimum, il n'y a même plus d'ennemis c'est la ballade. Sachant que seul le score est impacté par le choix de difficulté, ça devrait permettre à tout le monde de s'y retrouver.

Le jeu est beau (même si le moteur commence à dater), il y a toujours de l'humour bien n'imp, les musiques sont super agréables même si j'aurai souhaité en avoir plus. Niveau contenu on est gâté, 30 niveaux classiques, 30 niveaux rétro, des chemins alternatifs, des personnages à débloquer via des mini-quêtes, plein de choses cachées dans les niveaux; le jeu m'aura tenu 25h pour un (quasi) 100%.

Petit reproche tout de même, cette saloperie de caméra mobile qui parfois prend des angles douteux, rendant l'action peu lisible. Je sais que c'est voulu par les devs, que ce sont eux qui la placent ici et là, mais j'ai raggé pas mal de fois sur certains choix. Et sur la difficulté complètement absurde de certains passages heureusement facultatifs.

Je recommande à tous les curieux ou à ceux qui aiment les platefomer/runner. Je suis vraiment étonné de ne voir aucun de mes amis Steam possédant déjà le jeu, il est pourtant vraiment bon.

[b]П[/b]еред покупкой читал [u]исключительно[/u] отрицательные отзывы и они были не очень воодушевляющими, в совокупности выделил главные минусы игры для себяи анализировал их. Стримы/летсплеи и прочее не смотрел. В итоге купил и ни разу не пожалел, прошёл основные острова с большим удовольствием, не без долгих попыток try'ев уровней "Challenge", которые специально задуманы сложными, благо есть чекпоинты, из-за которых эти уровни чуть облегчаются. Девятый - последний уровень оказался самым сложным для меня, без чекпоинтов я бы его либо не прошел никогда, потому что нервы бы не выдержали, либо убил на него 100+ часов (для понимания прохождения одного момента смотрел на YouTube прохождение, где человек проходит уровни с первой попытки, это нечто).

[b]В[/b]се в духе первой и второй части, которые я прошел с не меньшим удовольствием, единственное к чему пришлось привыкать - обилие текстур объемной картинки из-за чего разбегаются глаза, происходит небольшой дизориентир и можно ненароком врезаться в преграду. Эта игра не про сюжет, здесь ты просто бежишь и перепрыгиваешь через препятствия. Понравилась механика ретро уровней, но они по факту слишком легкие и общее время прохождения на 30 уровней займет порядка одного часа.

[b]И[/b]тог: если вы играли и с удовольствием прошли первые две части, то смело берите третью и не пожалетете, можете для бонуса подождать скидку и купить ее по более приятной цене, чем за ее фулпрайс 26 часов вместе с пройденной главой the final battle 9 челендж уровень для меня оказался самым сложным, его я проходил порядка 4-х часов. Как оказалось в итоге контента в игре больше чем я ожидал, к challenge’ам и основной «сюжетной линии» добавились ещё ретро уровни, все благополучно пройдено на ура, на все 100%, если кому-то нужна нужна помощь с достижениями, я выкатил руководство с пометками

What a disappointment after Runner 2. First and foremost, the music just isn't very good, and it doesn't feel like you're creating the music like in past games. Secondly, this is the hardest game in the series and for all the wrong reasons. The camera rotates around you at times for a close up view or a behind the back view, which throws off your timing. But the worst is in the final world where obstacles are just dropped in front of you with little or no warning. It feels like trial and error just to get through the level. Finally, there's just not much here. Only 3 worlds with 10 levels each. They try to add replay value by added alternate paths and collectibles to the levels, but after awhile I was disliking the game so much that I just ignored them. I tried the first "retro" world and thought it was terrible.

Pros: Cheers to the art team, the stuff going on in the background is incredible. Makes me wish I was playing a normal platformer so I could slow down and take a look at it.

Runner 3 follows on from its predecessor, and attempts to better it counterpart by providing new graphics and more mechanics. Unfortunately this is to its detriment in places, I will discuss this below but first the positives.

The Good:
- The game looks gorgeous, with cinematic's that are a step up for the series.
- Each world feels unique with its own sense of charm and style, this is partly thanks to the brilliant soundtrack that the series never disappoint on.
- It adds new mechanics and provides harder levels than the previous games.
- Hero's quest is an interesting addition to the game and gives you an incentive to revisit levels.

The Bad:
- One of the earliest problems I found in the game was the change in camera angle. It completely takes you by surprise and will make you have to start at the last checkpoint again, causing unnecessary frustration.
- New mechanics make the game harder in a detrimental way, where it has become more frustrating than rewarding. Examples include hard manoeuvres in vehicle stages, use of double jump, having to slide mid air at points etc.
- Cinematic's explaining lore in the game are hidden behind collectables. I personally think this should of been done differently, as it becomes more of a chore to get a reward at the end of each world rather than having something that could be enjoyed immediately.
- New impossible stages provide a fiendish new challenge that will not be for everyone, but perhaps this will be more of a positive to hard core fans of the series.
- The game loses the block mechanic from runner 2. Not sure why this was taken out as it feels missing when playing from runner 2.
- Retro levels were overall meh, but an interesting detour from the usual levels.

The Ugly:
- I experienced soft locking on cannon bonus. If you miss the target completely, sometimes the falling animation continues indefinitely.

Conclusion:
Runner 3 provides an interesting take on a sequel to runner 2, but falls short due to its new mechanics, change in camera angles and a few bugs here and there. Despite the amount of bad points I have made about the game, there a fun charming adventure here, as long as you are up for the trials ahead of you.

You might as well bargain for things. Suppose I don't really want boil oils... I certainly don't want two of them, but if I get a 3-pack, I suppose that's a better deal, isn't it? I mean, if you’re gonna get boil oils, you might as well get a package of them, right? A big one, maybe... go to one of those big box stores and buy the 700 carted together. Just wheel him right up to the door - "Hey, I want to buy these boil oils, can I? Oh, I mean, I'm gonna buy Dill and Rewty's Cutie Patooties... Royal Doyle! I wanna buy Royal Doyle's Boil Foils. Lots of them... Aluminum ones! Lots of... boil oil foil... boil oil foil for me, please!" I'm going to go to the pharmacy now, just ask - "Excuse me, do you have, uh... *ahem* Royal Doyle's Boil Foils, per chance? And while you're at it, give me a package of those things over there. Yeah, you know don't talk- no don't- *stutter* -Don't say we- *stutter* -just put them in the boil oil... Thank you..."
