Я на Денди вырос, так даже там геймплей был лучше, в играх начала девяностых. Даже в первой долбаной контре был "присед", благодаря которому не нужно было каждую пулю перепрыгивать. А ещё там жизни были. А ещё там не нужно было в упор стреляться с двумя-трёмя противниками в тесных коридорах. А ещё она ВНЕЗАПНО лучше выглядела. К автору вопросов особых не имею: ну сделал как умел, и ладно - цена соответствующая. Но это же не значит, что игрокам нужно с пола жрать и накручивать положительные отзывы этому хрючеву пиксельному.

This is a very nice game for simple fun. No advanced control schemes or anything. It reminds me of an old gameboy game. Good as a little one off and I recommend it to people who enjoy simple and short experiences in gaming and for those who want to see something a little different from the average game.

시작~엔딩까지 약 40~50분이면 볼 수 있어 분량은 적은편에 들어가나 가격 생각하면 이정도면 ok입니다.
스토리는 플레이어는 1920년대의 어떤 요원이 되어 갱스터 조직에 쳐들어가(잠입 아님) 보이는 놈들 다 쏴죽이면서 전진하면 됩니다. 그렇게 계속 나아가다보면 적 보스도 나오고, 새로운 무기도 얻을 수 있고, 숨겨진 비밀같은것도 캘 수 있습니다.
게임 자체가 복고풍을 주제로 만든 게임이라 상당히 구식적인 플레이 방식을 보여줘서 처음에 좀 적응안되서 어려울 수도 있습니다만 적응되고나면 쉽게 컨트롤 할 수 있습니다.
흑백에 도트로 만들어진 게임이라 볼 거리가 별로 없는 대신 OST나 효과음에 신경 많이 썼습니다. 고전 째즈음악이 등장하며 곡 숫자는 많은편입니다.
끝으로 게임 종료는 어디서든 Alt +F4로 종료할 수 있고
세이브 기능이 없는 대신 게임을 시작한 후 ESC누르고 Next Level을 눌러 원하는 미션으로 이동할 수 있습니다.

Fun little game with nice atmosphere which evokes retro 8 bit games. Drips with atmosphere and has good music. It's very short though (30 minutes to 45 minutes) so in some ways feels like a student project.
It would be fun to see a sequel or spiritual sequel by the developers with better weapons and larger maps.

Really short metroidvania. Didn't really expect much but I'd say it delivered. If you think otherwise you can probably complete the game and still be able to refund using Steam's 2 hour refund policy.

NES-Noir game ends before it even begins.
So, I wasn't expecting much. Bought this years back and it's been sitting on my backlog ever since...Maybe 2017, 2016? Anyways, I finally got around to playing it and boy, what a disappointment.
First off, there's 6 levels and 2 bosses, none of which are particularly challenging. The bosses I didn't die once on, and when I died on the levels, which are, at most, 5 minutes long, I started back at the beginning of the level. Once you get into the groove of the gameplay though, it shouldn't be a problem. The simplistic AI and mostly straight-forward level design keeps this from becoming much of a chore.
Where the game fails is the fact that it presents you with a connecting story that is left vague on purpose. Who are the baddies? Who is the guy that died in the beginning? Who are you? Why do you care? What does it all mean after you defeat the boss? None of this is answered, none of it particularly matters either. The level design on top of this is very basic, with very little of interest going on. For the most part you'll be jumping around samey-looking environments, sometimes with it venturing outdoors or underground, neither one being particularly unique.
Where it also fails is in its mechanics. You earn coins from crates and chests and some enemies, which you spend on ammo or health. Honestly, it felt like there could have been better uses for money, like on permanent upgrades. Perhaps buying increased health, permanent armor upgrade, larger magazine sizes, whatever, it just felt like it needed more to justify the money mechanic. As for the 3 weapons, once you start getting enough money for shotgun ammo and SMG ammo, you no longer need the pistol at all.
Generally not worth your time, even at only about a half hour in length.

Платформер в ретро нуар стилистике. Сюжет я вообще нефига не понял, т.к. текстом он не подается, хотя игра на английском языке (можно было пару предложений и завезти). Сама игра состоит из менее десятка коротких уровней и двух простеньких боссов. В арсенале у нас пистолет (который мы используем хорошо если пару раз за игру), дробовик и автомат. Бегаем, убиваем врагов, покупаем аптечки и патроны. Все... Музыка средненькая. Рисовка средненькая. Сюжет плох. Геймплей бодренький... Не совсем треш, но и не шедевр. Больше понравилось, чем не понравилось - потому палец вверх.

I'm not the biggest fan of 2D Platformers but there was something in this game that made me enjoy it quite a bit. The whole Noir aesthetic made this game really pleasing to look at and the soundtrack was a banger plus the game wasn't very difficult which made it very relaxing gaming experience.

Приобрести, пробежать, почувствовать на вкус нуарную историю, немного пострелять, получить идеальную игру - вот и весь рецепт использования. На эти деньги можно было бы купить и съесть, скажем, шоколадный батончик в ближайшем магазине. А можно, вот, пройти Rot Gut. Кому какой способ поднимания настроения по душе. Нуар мне нравится, так что я выберу второй вариант и поставлю игрушке палец вверх. А вы - решайте уж сами. В любом случае, за такие деньги многого от игры требовать и не надо. А свою планку она держит.

Rot Gut benim sevdiğim iki tarzı bünyesinde barındırıyor: aksiyon platform ve noir. Steam indirimlerinde 4.52 TL param kalmıştı. Bir şeyler almak istiyordum. Araştırma yapayım dedim ve bu oyunu fark ettim. İndirime girmemişti ama olsundu. Bu oyun benlik bir oyundu. Oyunu aldım, oynadım ve şimdi sizlerle paylaşıyorum.
Görsel tarz 1940'ların noir filmlerinden alınma, siyah beyaz karanlık bir dünya. Farklı bir deneyim sunuyor. Hikaye böyle bir oyunda çok beklenmez ancak ufak birşey yapmışlar. Her bölüm sonunda kısa konuşmasız ara sahneler giriyor. Kesinlikle yeterli düzeyde. Oynanış öyle mükemmel bir kaliteye sahip değil ancak bekleneni veriyor. Platform kısımlarıda yine aynı şekilde. Düşmanlar eğer güçlüyse vur-kaç yaparak çatışabiliyorsunuz. Çeşitlilik 40 dakikalık bir oyun için gayet yeterli 3 farklı silahımız var. Ses efektleri ortalama. Müzikler ise harika müzik kategorisine girecek kadar kaliteli.
Kısacası "Aksiyon-platform severim" diyorsanız bakabilirsiniz. "Ama birde noir seviyorum" diyorsanız kaçırmamanız gereken bir oyun. Aslında oyun bittiğinde iade edebilirdim ama hem hak geçmesin hemde yapımcılara destek olsun diye yapmadım.

Neat little game we have here. This pint sized run and gun 2D platformer packs a nice punch. The gameplay is smooth and there is a satisfying feeling when you toast the bad guys without taking a hit. The overall presentation was well done with the 1920s mobster theme. The graphics are simplistic 8bit and mostly black & white, but they carry a nice retro feel. The sound and audio fits well too. Its not perfect though, with no controller support, can't always see platforms below you, lacks basic options and easy way to exit the game, plus its very short and not too challenging. All that in mind, the price is cheap and the game is fun for what it is. I'd say get it, even if you only have a slight interest.

Rot Gut is a short but satisfying retro side scroll shooter. Nothing too challenging here and very short. You could easily finish it in 40 mins. But it's cheap so no complaints here!
GOOD
+ Retro pixel art is real nice, and the first I've seen to be film noir (b&w) style. Colours are limited to blood and coins, like a Sin City type aesthetic.
+ Chip-tune jazzy soundtrack is great and definitely made me feel a bit nostalgic. Sound effects are punchy and satisfying.
+ New enemy types/bosses as you progress through the levels will present a good challenge but not frustration.
+ Smokin' gangsters with guns feels satisfying and gory.
BAD
- I did not enjoy blowing the doggos into meaty chunks with my shotgun :'(
A simple and satisfying game to jump into anytime you have a minute. The short length of the game is no issue at all when the price is so cheap. Fans of the side scroll shooter genre will definitely find something to love here. And it is easy enough for anyone to pick up and play.

Rot Gut is a super short side scrolling shooting game that has its appeal.
To start, the game is very short, you can beat it and get 100% achievements in less than 30 minutes. However, the game is honestly kind of fun for a short game. If it had gone any longer with the same exact gameplay, it might have started to feel much more grindy. The game is simple, you have a pistol, shotgun, and rifle that you use to kill enemies. There is ammo for the rifle and shotgun, and you have health. Using gold you collect at "vending machines" you can restore health or increase ammo. There are 2 bosses to the game (the second boss was ridiculously easy), and then the game is done.
Overall, entertaining and short game, but is it worth $1.99 for 30 minutes of fun (plus easy 100% achievements?). That is up to you.

A fun and simplistic platform shooter quickie that has an atmospheric aesthetic that is a sort of mix between an old Speccy game called Movie and Batman: The Caped Crusader for the C64. I had a good half hour playing this and the achievements were all easy and brought up my averages a little. I'd like to see more of this universe or perhaps a sequel. Certainly recommended.
Although, I have to admit the lack of an "exit" button on the main menu was infuriating and requires shutting down your computer to get out of the game.

Хотя, должен признать, у нас времена не менее интересные. Если игра не может похвастаться большой продолжительностью и повышенным уровнем сложности, то она автоматически переходит в разряд плохих, в глазах ряда людей. Конечно, вкусы у всех разные, у некоторых людей они и вовсе слишком специфичные, однако не стоит забывать одну простую вещь - игра должна работать. И если она работает, то критический взгляд и кидание помидорами в разработчиков, будет выглядеть натуральной вкусовщиной. Впрочем, о чем это я. Итак, что же из себя представляет игра? Платформер, в лучших традициях старых игрушек про "Робокопа". Бегаешь, расстреливаешь врагов, собираешь монетки, на которые можно купить аптечки и патроны, и добравшись до финального босса угощаешь того букетом свинца. При этом игрушка достаточно легкая и позволяет из-за каменных стен расстреливать врагов. Не всегда и не везде, но когда такая возможность есть - грех не воспользоваться, верно? И да, игра щедро сыпет всем необходимым, так что если рука набита на платформерах из девяностых, то умереть страшной смертью вашему герою не грозит. Разве что... управление. Оно немного неудобно. Нет, передвигаться можно на стандартные W+A+S+D, а стрелять на пробел, но прыжки, на удобную кнопку я так и не нашел, поэтому пришлось играть со стандартным - прыжок на K, а выстрел на соседнюю L. Да, неудобно, но учитывая общую продолжительность в 25 минут, пальцы не успеют устать. Приятная музыка будет отвлекать от сего просчета разработчиков, а глупые враги разлетаться от наших выстрелов, вызывая в памяти... хм, да того же "Чипа и Дейла", когда вместе с другом сидели в детстве и попинывали врагов, а порой и друг друга, под беззлобные подтрунивания. За что разработчиком спасибо.
Итог? Ищите игрушку на полчаса, что способна вызвать приступ ностальгии и желание установить эмулятор Дэнди? Что ж, вы ее нашли. Если же ваше детство/молодость случилась значительно позже и вы не застали 8/16 битные игры, то думаю и "Rot Gut" не сможет вас ничем зацепить. Так что исходите из своих предпочтений и будет вам счастье.

Quite frankly a fun, smooth ride. The control binding may feel weird at first (UP as jump, DOWN as weapon switching), but it plays very tight. Sound effects are satisfying and carrying power to it. It takes half an hour to completely beat it, but players can keep the money to start a new game again, essentially giving them quite an abundance of ammo to make the runs more focused on speed than their first playthrough.

This is a fun little title, with simple controls, but very, very solid game play. Harkening back to the early 90s, Apogee side scrollers like Secret Agent.
Game play isn't super complex, it's just jumping and shooting, but HOW the jumping and shooting works out is the treasure; Rot Gut will punish you for playing like a standard modern game, and expect you to be moving around dodging attacks while working in your own attacks at the same time; it's quite tight and well designed.
Absolutely worth the full price, and fun to boot up and give a whirl every now and then; this is for sure a title I will return to for fun, unlike most modern games, which I play and then put away.
The story is fun, but the gameplay gets repetitive. You basically end up dodging and avoiding enemies, which is much easier and faster than trying to kill them. The end of the game is a little lackluster and indicates some additional content, or a sequel that never came. I enjoy the music and the aesthetic, but the gunshots are too loud. A lack of Options or Exit button also take away points.
With more refinement, this could be an awesome game. But it takes 15 minutes to complete, has a few issues, and costs money.
Achei super divertido esse joguinho de tiro em 2D, no qual vcê explora um mundo noir repleto de mafiosos bem equipados, sendo preciso desviar dos tiros pulando e atirar de volta com diferentes armas (contendo uma pistola com munição ilimitada, uma shotgun e uma submetralhadora). Embora seja um jogo simples e curtinho (contendo apenas seis fases e podendo ser possível obter todas as conquistas em meia hora) ele não deixa de ser interessante e com seus próprios desafios, contendo inimigos com diferentes mecânicas e até mesmo Bosses únicos. Com isso recomendo bastante para passar o tempo, valendo o preço apenas em promoção devido a sua curta duração.

This game literally lasts around 30 minutes, really short game but the gameplay is pretty good and could potentially do better if more work is put into it. Not sure if theres any saving but I have played it all the way through in just one sitting. Really didnt take long, even a normal gamer that plays an hour would beat this in one sitting. The history setting is good and the story was pretty good as well but could have done more into it. Still, I recommend those that likes a short action story.
Dont bother getting this if you are not into small gameplays.

-Las mecánicas son sencillas de aprender, y el juego se esfuerza en obligarte a pulir tu habilidad sobre ellas.
-Se puede escoger el nivel.

-Le vendría bien tener más jefes de final de fase.
-El arte a veces es regulero, por ejemplo hay un enemigo que todavía no tengo claro si es el primo de Jason Vorhes con una metralleta o un calamar católico con un báculo.

Fun, short game. Has been fun to speedrun, easy to get into and some fun levels. The creator could certainly expand on it in their next, but definitely worth the small price tag.

I would like to vote neutral here. The game has a nice art style, good enough controls, and a frustration-free gameplay. However, it's simply to short, is too easy in my opinion, and has no replay value. Anyway, if you see it for a dollar or less, and like this kind of game, get it.
Rot Gut is a nice, little game that you can finish in like 45 minutes. Simple, but enjoyable gameplay. Nice pixel art with a film noire touch. Servicable music. If anything, the game is a little too easy. You get way too much money, so ammo is never a problem. The enemies forget about you as soon as you jump behind a little block. And the two boss fights also could have been harder. But hey, it's really cheap. If you don't expect a masterpiece, but just a nice game to pass a little time - this is worth your time and money. It's also an easy way to get 100% achievements, if that's what you're looking for.
One thing is relatively annoying: the game has no controller support. This is no big deal, if you know what to do in these situations. I used XPadder to play it with my arcade stick. So it's easy to fix. But it should be mentioned.
It's a simple, short, cheap, 2D platformer.
Graphics are okay.
Story is non existant.
Gameplay is okay. Controls feel good, even if they're a bit weirdly laid out. (Space to shoot and not to jump wtf?)
Music is fitting.
If the developers make a sequel I would like to see more use out of money, more weapons, and a control scheme that makes more sense.
Overall I would recommend it if you've got half an hour and got nothing better to do.

[h1] Gameplay [/h1] Wir spielen einen Agenten, der gegen das Organisierte Verbrechen vorgeht. Es gibt insgesamt 6 Level und 2 Boss Kämpfe. Wir laufen von links nach rechts und ballern alles nieder was uns in die quere kommt. Wir haben eine Pistole (mit unendlich Munition), eine Schrotflinte und später eine Tommy Gun. In den Einzelnen Leveln können wir Münzen einsammeln um damit an Automaten (die ebenfalls in den Leveln verteilt sind) Munition & Medikits kaufen. Die Story wird in kurzen Cutscenes erzählt bzw. gezeigt. Die Grafik ist im Schwarz Weißen Krimi Noir Still was sehr passend ist für diese Ära (1920).
[h1] Achievements [/h1] Es gibt insgesamt 9 Erfolge. Man muss einfach das Spiel durchspielen und schon hat man alle Achievements.

A very simple action platformer.
I played this game on Kongregate for free before stumbling upon it sometime later on Steam through a bundle and playing through the entire thing in a sitting.
The only appealing thing about it for me is the gritty noir theme and not a lot less.
To be clear it's not a bad game, so I will recommend, but don't buy it here unless you're just wanting an easy game to perfect.

ノワールな雰囲気の銃撃アクションゲーム。
会話などはなく雰囲気でストーリーを感じるタイプ。
シンプルな内容で全6ステージで30分くらいで終わる。すごい簡単。
全画面でしかプレイできない点とセーブがなく、ステージセレクトはできるが1面ずつメニューから移動しなければいけないのがちょっと面倒だった。
小粒なアクションゲームとしては悪くない。

Rot Gut est plus proche de ce que l'on peut trouver en jeux gratuits, étant donné qu'il se boucle en à peine 30mn (six niveaux et deux boss très faciles). Ceci dit le gameplay est sympathique (double-saut, choix d'armes, achat de munitions) et l'on retrouve bien l'ambiance à la film noir avec les musiques jazzy qui vont bien. Ça vaut bien le prix d'un café on va dire, mais sûrement pas plus.

I blitzed this game in 18 minutes for 100% completion and I'm the kind of clown to sniff out every corner of each stage, mess around with all the items and die a few stupid deaths. Even for $2 that is a fridge too far. I'm all for blasting a game off the backlog with extreme prejudice but this is ridiculous. Rot Gut looks and sounds a little better than its weight class would suggest, the gameplay being pretty bare bones. There's some mild amusement to be had going through it once but there's no replaying this one or any deep systems to play at. The weapons and shops aren't balanced, bosses are simple jokes and the enemies are easier to run past than to fight. I don't usually give things the speedrunner approach on my first blind run.
Demo it in full for free on Kongregate and clear it in less than thirty minutes.
Any more expensive and I couldn't recommend this game - it's far too short and doesn't really have a lot of substance. It would have been a great candidate for a Flash game back in the day when you'd kill hours on sites just playing through one little game after another, though, and it's cheap, so it gets a mild thumbs up from me.
A very short game, the low price isn't even proportional to the content. There's only 6 levels which you can beat 100% with zero deaths in 30 minutes.
That being said the game has a very solid feel to it, the art style is very charming. Each level feels different and they're pretty neatly designed. Mechanics are very simple but require a bit of platforming skills to execute, which is fun, because the game gives you a lot of room with it's tight movement, air control and double jumps. Music is great too, certainly pulls some nostalgia strings there, bringing me back to games like Halloween Harry, Biomenace, Secret Agent, etc.
Overall I certainly wish there would be more of it, but it is also nice little treat on it's own.

This is an inexpensive little retro pixel action game which isn't too bad, but which is very short and has zero real replay value. The art style and graphics are simple, but nice. The sound is pretty good and the soundtrack is fitting for the genre. The gameplay isn't anything special. Run around, shoot gangsters and bad guys with 3 different weapons, collect money to buy ammo and health. It's not especially difficult if you learn to jump to the level of the enemies, shoot a few times, then jump away before they can shoot back. Those instances where you can't hit and run can be a bit brutal, but there's no real penalty for dying except for being sent back to try again with no loss of money. There are only a few types of bad guys with different firing patterns and the two bosses are very simple as well. The game... well, it has something resembling a story, but don't expect too much.
I beat the game in less than an hour and there is no replay value. Frankly I should have beaten it in much less time than I did. You will get every achievement the game has if you beat it. There are no real branching paths or secrets to aim for. The game was decent fun, but it's impossible not to consider the value per dollar on it and in that respect it's pretty bad.

Ovládání je pouze na klávesnici. Takže klasika WASD a k tomu C a X.
Jak jsem již zmínil, hra je ve stylu NES her, tudíž plošinovka, skáčete, sbíráte zlaťáčky, za které si pak kupujete náboje nebo lékarničky a likvidujete padouchy.
Grafické zpracování je v podobě pixelů, tedy přesně jako u NES her
Ve stylu retro NES her je i hudba, která pro někoho může být i vzpomínkou na dětství.
Jedná se opravdu o krátkou hru na odpočinek a na zaplácnutí volné chvíle.
Jogo extremamente legal e nostálgico. Dá uma sensação de estar em duas épocas não vividas ao mesmo tempo: a década de 1930, pela ambientação do game, e a época da geração 8 bits, devido aos gráficos do mesmo.
Prós: Ambientação nos anos 1930, temática noir, gráficos pixelados, sensação de estar jogando um NES ou Sega Master System.
Contras: Jogo demasiadamente curto e sem suporte à joystick.

Funny jump'n'run shooter game in a nice 8bit-atmosphere with chilling jazz music. Quick and easy to complete in half an hour. Really enjoyed the cutscenes and the gameplay. There are 3 weapons to use: pistol, shotgun and the good old Thompson.
Steam really need a neutral option, because this game would go there. Decent asthetic and controls, but far too short with poor level design. Pick up in a sale only if you're curious.

Short and sweet lil' platformer shooter! I like it. :P Plenty of enemy variants, the weapons all behave different enough to change up approaches to different enemies. controls are tight... It's not a bad little diversion, really.
I do kinda wish there was a little more, as I beat it in around 10-15 minutes, watching the cutscenes and everything, but the game does end on a cliffhanger, so maybe some day there will be a Rot Gut 2! Maybe more weapons and more story? We'll see!

If I were still super in to my Nintendo childhood, I would be playing the ♥♥♥♥ outta this.
This is a middleground game, so if you like platforming action shooters, I suppose you might take a crack at it.
I just have too many other titles on my list of ones I want to beat. Mastering this one is probably not going to happen.
