First of all, this game is not 'Trash' or something like that. It's just not a good game. There are a few cool scenes, different endings and an awesome voice actor.
The reason for my bad review are two things:

1. The hunt for collecting items destroys the atmosphere. You can't just walk around and explore, if you don't want to miss a collectible. That's annoying.

2. The minigames of the first chapters are the only 'challenges' of the game... But they are boring af and the controls feels stiff.

All in all it's an okay game.

I won't lie, this game really threw me for a loop during the last part of the game and I really enjoyed that. But I'm just not sure if the insanely mediocre build up is really worth it for [spoiler] a cool twist ending segment. [/spoiler] As someone who likes horror "walking simulators" this one is just not great. The biggest issue being the protagonists absolute refusal to ever shut up ever. Like no disrespect to the va of course but it's so grating to have him constantly comment on EVERYTHING and basically tell you what to think and feel and what you're seeing instead of letting the game's atmosphere and level design do that work. Let me think for myself my god. I just don't think it's really worth it for what is admittedly a really cool ending... Sorry.

Gra jakoś super nie zachwyca, ale ma więcej plusów niż minusów. Zacznę od plusów : gra ma zajebistą grafikę, mechanikę, motyw cyrku jest super, początkowy klimat labiryntu w cyrku mega zajebisty i klimatyczny. I to na tyle z plusów. Gra jest mega krótka, do przejścia w 3h. Motyw cyrku mega szybko zanika, fabuła jest tak poplątana że nawet po przejściu gry nie jestem w stanie ostatecznie powiedzieć jakie jest to zakończenie. Byłoby one dużo lepsze gdyby nie było ostatnich 2 minut imo. No ogólnie największym minusem jest czas gry bo strasznie szybko da się ją przejść.

Нормальная игра, как минимум, нескучная. Симпатичные декорации. Ходишь, бродишь, распутываешь странную историю, встречается пара моментов "быстро бежать, иначе умирать". Хотя, с "бежать" у героя туго, бег лишь на наносекунды быстрее неспешной ходьбы.
Имеется несколько досадных глюков, например, один критичный для сборщиков достижений с отсутствием коллекционного предмета на его месте, лечится многократными перезапусками или не лечится вовсе - как повезёт. Время в игре у меня накручено как раз за счёт тех самых переигрываний, так часов за 6-7 можно пройти.
За полную цену игру я бы брать не стала ни при каких обстоятельствах, но с хорошей скидкой почему бы и нет?

Je viens de tester Reveil et j’ai vraiment été surpris par l’ambiance du jeu.
L’atmosphère est très étrange et dérangeante, avec une narration qui te fait constamment douter de ce qui est réel ou non.

Le jeu joue beaucoup sur l’exploration et les sensations plutôt que sur des jumpscares faciles, ce qui rend l’expérience encore plus immersive.
L’univers visuel est vraiment unique et chaque endroit semble raconter une partie de l’histoire.

Si vous aimez les jeux d’horreur psychologique et les expériences narratives un peu différentes, ça vaut vraiment le coup d’y jeter un œil.

Walking simulator. A man with fragmented memories is trying to figure out what happened to his wife and child. His waking experiences appear to warp and repeat as he tries to unravel the truth about his family and his own existence.

The first 4 chapters were a little slow and uninteresting and I didn't quite care for the voice acting (the tone didn't seem to fit the mood). But the last chapter really piqued my interest and really saved the game for me.

It is a nice game, and do not expect it to be a pure walking sim, the game has a few puzzles to solve, in my opinion it could’ve used more of them, as for how they are designed, well I did enjoyed the first ones (chapter 1) afterwards it kinda just felt flat, still it was nice to break away from just walking around.

The game also throws in a bit of Amensia (or similar horror games) curve, that part where you are chased by an invincible enemy and all you can do is hide and run, you can’t hide in this game but you can creep around by crouching to make less noise. I didn’t found these parts too challenging, so I can’t really complain about them, except for a part which takes place in a dark forest and you gota navigate with a flashlight, well, I wasted too much time in that zone, honestly the game could’ve done without these parts.

The game also features some collectibles for those who want a motive to explore/discover. As for a down side, I would say it’s the voice acting of the main character, it is so flat and the only thing worse is his dialogue.

Like I said, it is a nice game, not sure if it’s worth the full price, but just consider it if you liked Layers of Fear or The Beast Inside, or other horror walking sims.

작년에 트레일러 영상 나올 때 관심이 가던 게임이라 찜 목록에 넣어두고 있다가 최근에 9천원대 가격으로 세일을 하고 있길래 구매해서 주말에 즐겨봤는데 일단 플레이 타임은 3시간 정도 나왔네요.

공포보단 퍼즐 게임이라고 알고 있었기에 확실히 공포 요소는 사실 거의 없었고 후반에나 조금 있었습니다.
공포 요소라고 할 만 한 게 가끔씩 나오는 점프 스퀘어나 적에게 안 들키고 도망치는 것 정도가 전부라 공포 게임이라고 보긴 어렵네요.

다만, 퍼즐이 많을 거라 기대하고 플레이 했는데 생각보다 퍼즐은 별로 없었고, 대부분은 이동 하면서 찬찬히 스토리의 비밀을 파악해가는 것이 위주라 살짝 실망하긴 했습니다.
후반부 쯤 가서 이렇다 할 퍼즐이 좀 나오긴 하는데 좀 즐기다 보면 갑자기 엔딩이..ㅎ

그 외에 게임 시점은 1인칭으로 걷고, 뛰고 하는 시점이라 1인칭 멀미 약하신 분들은 살짝 멀미가 있을 수는 있어 보이고 (하지만 뛰는 모션이 그렇게 역동적이고 빠르게 뛰지는 않아서 멀미가 그렇게 심할 것 같아 보이진 않았습니다.)
게임 내 연출은 조명 효과나 명암 등을 잘 살려내었고, 꿈 속을 경험하는 것과 같은 비현실적인 공간적 배경을 대체적으로 잘 표현해서 약간 몽환적이면서도 꿈 속에서 이동하는 듯한 느낌을 잘 받았습니다.
깔끔한 그래픽도 연출에 한 몫 한 것 같구요.

다만, 게임 분량이나 퍼즐 요소가 생각보다 부족하다고 느껴져서 정가에 구매하기엔 좀 그렇고, 만원 이하 정도로 세일 할 때 구매하시는 걸 추천 드립니다.

Ein wirklich starkes Horror-Story-Game. Von der ersten Minute an weiß man nicht, was hier eigentlich passiert – und genau das macht den Reiz aus.

Das Spiel spielt permanent mit der eigenen Wahrnehmung. Kaum denkt man „Ahh, jetzt hab ich’s verstanden“, kommt direkt das nächste „… echt jetzt?“ hinterher. Die Story hält einen ständig am Haken und sorgt dafür, dass man nie komplett zur Ruhe kommt.

Es war ein richtig schönes und intensives Erlebnis, das dank mehrerer Enden definitiv zum Wiederspielen einlädt. Wer Horror mag, der nicht nur erschrecken, sondern auch im Kopf arbeitet, ist hier genau richtig.

👉 Strumpf ganz klar nach oben. Hoffentlich kommt aus diesem Studio noch mehr!

This game was a great game, the story had me hanging on the edge of my seat with a nice twist at the end. I did run into some bug, but they were able to be fixed by just restarting the game. The game does auto save often so you don't lose much when you have to reset it. I do admit, some of the puzzles at the end are not explained to well so only after doing them did I realize there was another way too but honestly being able to select chapters in the main menu didn't make it to big of a deal to go back and do it the other way too. I would totally recommend this game.

Reveil was a strange walking sim, I think the gameplay and puzzles were okay but nothing too exciting, and the story left me wanting more prior to the grand reveal at the end. I also wasn't too fond of the horror segments whilst I understand it's of the genre it didn't really serve anything for the narrative nor gameplay aside from being a time killer. During one of these segments the ai was stuck on a loop, constantly running around me in circles, meaning I couldn't move without getting caught even after respawning. However, if you're willing to move past the jank it's still a decent game.

[b]REVEIL[/b], it focuses on story, puzzles, and exploration. So, definitely use walking-simulator style. The puzzles are pretty simple, but I was impressed by the world itself. It's visually appealing and attention to details. Chapter 1: Funhouse, is the best stage. They really let me play around with the space, like the Mirror Maze.

But don’t forget the eerie and disturbing parts. The horror elements are minor and no jumpscares (I swear), but the atmosphere itself is enough to make you feel uncomfortable. There are some intense moments throughout the game.

The game can be finished in one sitting. Took me around 4 hours to get the first ending, including digging into what happened to Walter Thompson by paying attention to the environment. After an hour playthrough, I started questioning the boundaries between reality and illusion, like what the ♥♥♥♥ is going on? By the time the story reveals its truth, it was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.

Every game that relies on AMNESIA to create a story is, bad. Not only that, but also the game spoils itself even before begginig with a special disclaimer. "Reveil" does not reveil anything but boredom. Is a slow-pace walking simulator with a non new story in a non-new enviroment, and every thing is narrated through the eyes of Walter, a man that tries to show emotions, but he simply cant transmit anyone. Interessante walking sim Horror in cui si dovrà far luce sulla storia del protagonista, bloccato in un loop di incubi davvero niente male. Lo stile artistico è il punto di forza di questo gioco. La grafica è molto ben definita ed aumenta la sensazione di tensione anche grazie agli ottimi effetti di luce. Il comparto audio è buono, sia lato musica che lato dialoghi. Ci sono un paio di scary jump ma molto ben congeniati e non banali, anche se la parte più ansiogena è data dalle sequenze in cui saremo inseguiti da entità malefiche. I puzzle sono abbastanza semplici e divertenti da risolvere. Anche la rigiocabilità è buona grazie ai diversi finali. Nel complesso sono contento di avergli dato una possibilità, consigliato a chi ama i giochi horror ma non vuole spaventarsi troppo.

The overall experience is mediocre, mainly because it barely works as a horror game.

There isn’t a single jumpscare, and while the game does a decent job with psychological elements, it never really feels scary. The tension just doesn’t build, why? well.... Most of the time, it feels like the game wants to be horror but never fully commits to it through the character himself. maybe the chase sequence at the house with the lady running after me.

The game is actually okay. The story and plot twist are decent enough, and the atmosphere, graphics, and soundtrack range from meh to good. However, the main character constantly gives obvious or pointless hints—sometimes helpful, but often just annoying. His reactions didn’t help immersion either.

The puzzles were another downside. There are way too many of them, thrown at you left and right, which slows the pacing and kills any chance of fear or suspense. Also the running away from the monster sequence needs hints, I got lost countless times thanks to the brightness level that was not adjustable BTW

Overall, it’s not a terrible game. It’s decent in most areas—but if you’re looking for actual horror, I honestly can’t recommend it.

This game is another walking simulator with puzzles and storytelling. I wouldn't really consider it to be horror, but I guess it could fall under psychological thriller with some minor horror elements. There's no gore and the atmosphere is generally not that tense, but the visuals were interesting and the plotline was engaging enough to keep me going.

The plot starts off kind of slow and then starts becoming more and more interesting once you're about an hour into it. I think the story was explained well enough that everything is clear by the end, which is nice.

Again, I wouldn't consider this to be horror, despite the horror tags. There were a few jumpscares and attempts to be creepy using environmental storytelling, but the game just wasn't particularly scary or tense. There were a few brief moments that actually were tense, but those were pretty short compared to the overall length of the game.

The environments were well crafted and had interesting details.

Puzzles were a mixed bag, with some being trivially easy to the point of being pointless, and some were annoyingly obscure enough that I had to look up solutions.

The automatic saves left a bit to be desired since it may force you to restart sequences from the beginning if you quit partway through. That said, if you die in the game, you don't seem to lose much progress and it seamlessly brings you back to the sequence in a way that makes narrative sense.

The strongest aspect of this game was the story. It actually had some twists that I didn't see coming, which was refreshing since the previous two walking simulator horror games I played were kind of obvious.

Overall, I'd recommend for fans of psychological thrillers, but don't go into this expecting to have your pants scared off.

근데 첫 추격전 나올 때 한번, 엔딩 각 슬슬 잡힐 때 한번 팍 식어버림
시간 순서대로 (존잼 -> 할만은 함 -> 노잼) 이렇게 됨
스토리나 특정 구간이 그렇다는 거지 끝날 때까지 퍼즐은 재밌음
공포겜으로 보자면 저점, 분위기 좋은 퍼즐겜으로 본다면 고점임
그래서 차라리 추격전을 안 넣었다면 어땠을까 싶기도 함
난이도 자체는 쉬운데 조작감이 구리다 보니까 긴장되거나 무섭기보다 그냥 화가 남
공포 게임에서 화가 난다는 건 몰입감과 긴장감을 잃는다는 거라 그게 좀 아쉬움

원가 24000원 내고 할 만한 건 아니고 나처럼 할인가 9600원 정도에 퍼즐겜+걷기 시뮬레이션 매니아면 할만 하다고 생각함

REVEIL è un walking simulator decisamente criptico, l'inizio è piuttosto blando (mentre esploreremo il nostro circo avremmo delle visioni particolarmente bizzarre) ma con il procedere della storia si riuscirà a dare un senso a tutto quanto! Devo ammettere che la parte finale è stata una piacevole sorpresa, purtroppo non ci sono interazioni di sorta, solo piccoli puzzle (un paio carini, altri facilissimi). Per via della natura della storia, va necessariamente finito per poterlo "capire".

PREGI:

Graficamente gradevole
Non è un vero horror ma l'atmosfera non è male
Epilogo decisamente inaspettato.

DIFETTI:

Nessuna interazione con altri NPC
Per via della natura del gioco certi eventi sono senza senso
Enigmi troppo facili
Controlli con il pad non precisissimi (durante l'apertura di porte e cassetti)

Il voto è influenzato da come si conclude la storia, il gioco in se è un classico walking simulator (anzi, piuttosto piatto nella fasi iniziali), ma grazie a come si dipanano gli eventi nel capitolo finale merita decisamente di essere giocato fino ai titoli di coda.

Just realized I never wrote a review for this game, even though I’ve already 100% completed it…
So, overall, it’s a really solid indie horror game. Not exactly scary for me, but the atmosphere and sense of suspense are done really well. The length is well paced, and the art style fits the theme nicely. If you’re a fan of Layers of Fear, I’d definitely recommend checking this one out, as some sequences reminded me a lot of that game.
As for the story…you’ll have to play it and see for yourself. Personally, I felt the ending was a bit of a letdown, which isn’t really my thing. 8/10

After 70 minutes I feel okay giving this game a thumbs up for what I paid (7,99 on sale).
Walking simulator with good atmosphere. So far it's like a giant haunted house. Love the atmosphere.

After finishing, there's 2 parts that REALLY need fixing.
[spoiler] When escaping the manakin in the train, after putting the lever on the time to pull it is WAY too short. I was doing that part over 5 to 10 times without knowing what I did wrong. Definite quit moment. [/spoiler]

[spoiler] When solving the puzzle box in the apartment a constant ticking was present. It is absolutely annoying to the point of muting the game. Just to not have it there. Any way to mute that in game, or just have anything other than that ticking during the puzzle would turn this from a 7/10 to a 9/10 [/spoiler]

Solid horror walking sim with multiple endings, it has a really nice setting and some trippy illusions with the spaces, the puzzles are ok, the only 2 that might be a tad frustrating could be the 2 chases the game has, but once you learn the trick they are easy the mannequin chase hardest part is : [spoiler] using the lever to detach the train cart, the trick is pulling from the top of the lever after using the lever.[/spoiler] and the second one is [spoiler] in the woods just run to the shinning spots were the orbs are, avoid trying to do stealth because that enemy can see you [/spoiler].

It ran good on my pc and looked good but it still had some stutters when loading areas which might feel bad to some people, but since its a walking sim most of the time i didnt mind. Totally worth a playthrough at least.

一款值得打折入手体验的步行模拟恐怖游戏。先说优点：游戏氛围营造的不错，画面也能打，场景的转换非常丝滑，微恐（至少我觉得），不是恐怖爱好者的玩家也能尝试一下，最重要的是引导做的很棒（H键高亮互动），解密也比较简单，全程无卡关非常流程。再来说说缺点：短！三小时就双结局通关了（还有两个结局没打出来）。剧情很一般，可以说的上俗套，个人觉得虎头蛇尾了，游戏风格在后面章节一下子从恐怖游戏变成科幻解密游戏，要大扣分。对我而言这游戏不够恐怖，但算得上是好吃的小甜品。原价非常不值，建议打折入手。

I think that this game just prooves how great combination can puzzle game with horror can do! The story is interesting, graphics looks great and it does have even multiple endings that u can achieve. Its shorter one, but i still enjoyed it a lot. Additionally u can easily complete it on 100%, which is always a plus!

Can't recommend even on sale. The entire beginning of the game has jump scares that are designed to NOT hurt you so you lower your guard but then all of a sudden, you die if a new enemy see's you? That part was easy enough to get around (the art loft). But later, a mannequin somehow teleports from very far away to "it's right on your @$$." and if you don't do the train lever actions PERFECT, you die over and over and over. Because they made 1 button to interact (left click) but a different action to move items (Mouse move) and another to stop the action (space bar?) it takes longer to do ANYTHING than needed. Some puzzles are far too convoluted and time consuming for a simple walking horror sim.
The game was made more complicated than it needed to be.
Graphics are pretty good.
Voice acting is good.
Gameplay/controls are frustrating and annoying.

I would like to like this game. The art is very lovely. The narrator is okayish. Game starts quite promising. Yet, the puzzles are very bland and uninspired. The environmental storytelling is 300% in your face and makes you feel like "Just in case you are too stupid.. ..here is the same asset / the same hint, again. And again. And again." - It's all a bit too obvious with the actual puzzles feel just forced. Not thrilling at all.

Si la vida te parece demasiado larga y buscas una experiencia intensa pero breve, REVEIL es tu solución.

Este juego en primera persona es un ejercicio magistral de atmósfera, donde el color rojo te perseguirá hasta en sueños, justificando su etiqueta de survival horror más por el ambiente opresivo que por el combate, que se limita a correr o esconderse.

El juego no está mal y sorprende a veces, aunque desgraciadamente yo ya sabía por donde hilaba la historia al estar estudiando psicología.

Juega completamente a ciegas, porque cualquier spoiler arruinaría la única cosa que lo hace brillar, los gráficos son de notable alto, y el diseño de los puzles es sencillo, salvo el del maniquí, en el que tendrás que darle alguna vuelta de tuerca.

Es un producto de gran calidad, pero con un precio que parece diseñado para que te olvides de él, si consigues encontrarlo con un buen descuento o más, no lo dudes.

Como última recomendación, te diría que esperes más un walking simulator que un survival, te aviso para que no te decepciones.

Nota: 7.5/10. Merece la pena, pero siempre que lo pilles en oferta o en un bundle como fue mi caso.

Einer der Besten Adventure- Horror Games die je gezockt habe. Ich liebe die Spiel-Kulisse und alles ist mit Prezision durchdacht worden und auch Detail spielt eine große Rolle in dem Game. Die Story ist soo gut durchdacht und die Steuerung ist so oder so nice. Дизайн ляпы, технические ляпы.
Как вам белая точка прицела во время игровых кинемтиков ( не выключается с настроек ).

离圆满还差了两点，叙事节奏安排的不好，前半程完全俗套，试图用意识流讲老套的悔恨终身ptsd故事，差点弃剧，中间高潮大爆发，很顶很赞，最后一部分很多都没交代清楚，这么多人员就全被xxx了？这个徘徊的红色露齿笑的是个啥？另外几个故事的人也都蒸发了么？应该有四个才对么，我还挺想看那个the dark at sea…… 估计是经费不足草草收场了。德国法兰克福的制作组，估计谁娶了个中国媳妇，植入了一些汉字元素，“xx五金店”让我猛地一惊。音乐不到位，完全不能烘托气氛，谜题倒是都很不错，还是很期待下一部作品的。

REVEIL okazał się jedną z lepszych gier przygodowych FPP z elementami walking sima i survival horroru. Potrafi zaciekawić przez większość rozgrywki a gdy wydaje się, że zbliżamy się do końca... totalnie zaskakuje. Trudno tutaj napisać coś o fabule, by czegoś nie zdradzić. [b]Najlepiej nie czytajcie recenzji/opinii, bo możecie trafić na spoiler psujący odbiór gry - zagrajcie w grę w ciemno bez żadnej wiedzy o niej. Tej recenzji też nie czytajcie od drugiego akapitu przed grą ;)[/b]. Ja tylko napiszę, że zagadki są proste (ta z manekinem jest jedną z ciekawszych, z jakimi się ostatnio spotkałem), elementy survival horroru są trzy, które polegają na unikaniu wroga skradając się w pobliżu niego, biegając w poszukiwaniu trzech itemów i trzeci polegający wyłącznie na ucieczce. Fragmentów symulatora chodzenia jest kilka, ale warto zwrócić wtedy uwagę na otoczenie, bo zauważymy jak historia jest dopięta w każdym elemencie. Tylko kupujcie grę na co najmniej 50% promocji, bo jednak ma zawyżoną cenę jak na produkcję do 4 godzin na przejście.

Grafika jest bardzo dobra. Obiekty i szczegółowość lokacji potrafią zrobić wrażenie. Można otworzyć większość szafek/szuflad. Kolorystycznie dominuje czerwone światło, które staje się znakiem rozpoznawczym gry, ale ma to też swoje uzasadnienie w grze. Niektóre lokacje są barwne, inne przygnębiające, ale wszystko tutaj współgra z tym co dzieje się na ekranie. Dźwięk dopełnia rozgrywkę i w wielu momentach pojawia się niepokój. Jest kilka jump scary, ale jednak gra stawia na budowanie atmosfery. Muzyka jakaś jest, ale nie zostaje w pamięci. Dubbing jest w porządku.

Technicznie jest ok, choć w pewnym momencie miałem obawy, czy w ogóle uda mi się grę dokończyć. W pokoju dziecięcym trzy razy wywaliło mi grę do pulpitu, więc podchodziłem do tej lokacji czterokrotnie (a jest tam zręcznościowa zabawa z pewnym pudełkiem, która może zirytować), co nie nastrajało dobrze, jednak później nie trafiłem już na jakiekolwiek błędy. Gra zapisuje się zazwyczaj przed wejściem do danej lokacji lub jej części.

Gra jako całość niezwykle przypadła mi do gustu. Czytając każdą notatkę, zwracając uwagę na szczegóły odwiedzanych miejsc okazało się jak REVEIL jest dopracowana historią. I choć z podobnym motywem spotkałem się w grach, to i tak niniejsza produkcja zaskoczyła mnie pozytywnie, dlatego zdecydowanie polecam, szczególnie jeśli lubicie tego typu produkcje przygodowe. 8,5/10
