I'm a fan of text base adventure games and i really like the game. the bad part is that you cant really save progress or save scum like you can in dashingdon games.

The love interests are very sweet, however I dont like how the game kept trying to push me into dating Tyler! PLEASE why would I like him when I got Alison!?

Psy High claims to be a CYOA game, but it's very railroaded and the vast majority of your choices feel like they don't matter. Unless you play like an idiot, you're going to get the good ending, which only varies by what you choose to do at the very end.
In addition, the story isn't super interesting—its stereotypical highschool tropes first, and supernatural mystery second. As someone who is many years out of high school (I apparently bought this game 8 years ago and never got around to playing it), I found this game felt targeted towards preteens who fantasize about a idyllic highschool experience.

Так же легко разрушить этот "злодейский план", игра не требует от игрока никакой стратегии, чтобы проиграть плохим дядям и тетям нужно целенаправленно к этому стремиться :) НО! Игра хороша именно этой простотой. Она милая. Если вам нравятся американский фильмы про подростков, особенно про подростков со сверхспособностями, то вам точно понравится. Все элементы школьной драмы в наличии: выбор между другом детства и лавкрашем, между учебой и вечеринками, проблемы школьной иерархии и тд. Хотя, по моему скромному мнению, Карл единственный стоящий любовный интерес, парень горяч в прямом и переносном смысле)
I loved it, I just wish there was more direct unavoidable confrontation with the villains.
Big disappointment. The premise is solid. Magic school detective sounds cool, but its just too short. Maybe if it was 3 or 4 times as long it would be worth buying. Its a shame i wanted to like it but, its just not worth it.
Overall the story is...Eh? I felt like it went by quick and the world-building was as shallow as a sidewalk's puddle. And it's meant to have a sequel, however I never figured out how to transfer over the save from this one despite the fact that I uploaded it to my email at the end. I'm not sure if it's because the ending I had gotten wrapped everything up or what but I feel as though that shouldn't matter.

This Game just cant decide if it wants to be a high-school simulation or a mystery magic Story.
Ive got the Impression, if the author focusted just on one of these two, it could have been a lot better.
It also doesnt say something good about the story if you know the villain within the prologue (its suposed to be a small surprise at last) and you can guess the main plot, problem, how it will affect things and how its going to be resolved by chapter 3.
The loveinterests also clash with each other and thers no way to avoid this if you want to date someone beside your childhood friend.
All in all the game is solid, just to bland and generic to be considert good.

very good interactive game. Every choice changes the outcome and in the end I was a bit sad the game was so short. Otherwhise really great game
I would recommend it, but ONLY if you can get it for $1.50 or less, which would be far more reflective of the total content.
It's fun, a good story, and the choices felt impactful, but a complete playthrough takes less than an hour, so I can't say that it's worth the $3 sale price. I know there's supposed to be a lot of replay value due to all the choices, but I'm not the sort who likes picking what I consider 'bad' decisions... and with this, there was usually a single clear good choice and an array of obviously poor ones.
The game is too predictable; it's hard to enjoy a mystery to solve when the mystery is solved very early. It's a shame since the world itself is rather interesting and could have been so much more; as it is, I don't want to replay it to explore other plotlines since the story was boring after all. It could have been saved if the characters you meet were interesting but no, they're just walking stereotypes.
Overall this felt like it was written by someone who has left high school in the 90's and tries to relate to teenagers nowadays by watching high school musical.

This is a fun little game for a good price. There are a few of things to be aware of:

[*] This game is not really a mystery. There is a small aspect of one, but it is not a mystery game.
[*] The choices you make have consequences.
[*] There are multiple achievements and endings depending on how you play the game. It can be replayed multiple times.
I really enjoyed playing this game. After a while, it can get redundant, so put it down and play another game. Until you discover all the endings/achievements, you always have something to come back to. The story isn't that complex--it's about high school--but it's enjoyable whether you are around that age or much older.
I have yet to play any other games from Choice of Games, but I had heard they were enjoyable so I took it upon myself to try one, however, you get what you pay for. At just $4.99 one should not be surprised to find this game predictable, short, and poorly written. Hopefully, Choice of Games offers better in the future.

It's an interesting and pretty well-written story, though some scenes are clearly not designed for the "evil" path and that causes weird continuity issues. Winning is not really a challenge; it's more about how the choices you make shape the end result.

I bought this because I like similar games and there is a part 2 coming soon also. The plot is "surviving high school where some of the kids have powers" including YOU. You get to choose your clothes, friends, and the things that interest you. Typical high school stuff. Not surprisingly, there are romance options: your best friend, a crush, and the party kid/drug crowd. The author tried to simulate a "teenage crush" with one romance option and unfortunately its thrown in your face so much I had no interest in that. But you still have a choice to ignore it at least. Although there are multiple pathways for replay ability, I found myself only liking one of them so I dont see myself replaying this. But each person is different. One thing I liked is the main plot. The first time I played I chose to destroy the plot and the game got to the end with a satisfactory ending, but informed me that I couldn't save the game for Part 2 because it assumes you did NOT destroy things in Part 2. Ok so I had to replay it again with deciding NOT to destroy so that I could have a saved game for Part 2. I was impressed that the author lets you play things out, even when your choices screw up the overall plot. In summary, fun game but replay potential varies by Reader's tastes.
Big fan of this game. There's something very genuine and charming about it -- I would cheerfully watch this as a movie. (Full disclosure: I know and am a friend of the writer of this game; however, I would recommend it regardless, it's a favourite of mine.)
I was seriously disappointed by this game. I played Heart of the House many, many times, and absolutely loved it. The ability to name your character, choose your sexuality, and mold your talents was something I'd never really experienced before, but fell in love with regardless. Psy High has these features, but not to the extent I was expecting; that, however, was not my main quarrel with the game. My main issue was the lack of character depth and development. Psy High, like Heart of the House, has romancable characters that your character can enter into a relationship with. However, Psy High's characters don't even feel like they exist. They're just descriptions of a person, as opposed to an actual character. Taylor/Tyler is a perfect example. Early on, it's revealed that your character has a major crush on Taylor/Tyler, however, the only reason I could find for this crush existing was the fact that your character found them beautiful/gorgeous/handsome. That's all well and good, I've no qualms with attractive fictional characters, but there is more to a person than their looks. They have a personality. They have flaws. They have interests. They have goals. They have paradigms and philosophies. Almost none of these are present in the romance options in Psy High, at least for the straight male route that I played, that is. Sure, Alison is well described, and your character has known them for a long time, but you still know next to nothing about her personality. Carla, is somewhat different though. Her character and personality was decently described, but rather unlikeable, if you ask me. Come on, Choice of Games, I know you're better than that. Heart of the House was absolutely enthralling. I spent way too much time on that game. But that's how good it was. Psy High doesn't even come remotely close to Heart of the House's level of quality.
TL;DR: Characters feel one-dimensional and lifeless. Romance almost feels impossible. Not worth the $3.89. If you want a good Choice of Games game, get Heart of the House.
Story is very basic, although I gave it a shot despite the reviews warning me (which I debated on buying the game or not). Does not grab my attention, and started to only play to get the achievements. But lost interest after the first play through- seriously, it gets predictable.
i've literally had this game for like 3 years (even tho i kinda forgot my steam pw for months so i didn't have access to it) and i still haven't completed all of the achievements. it always gets me how one change in the choices you make can bring up a part of the story i've never seen before. also i'd die for carl
It was a nice little read and definitely well-crafted. As far as choose-your-own-adventure-books go, it was very fine. And there was a flaming hot bad boy available for romance. Always here for that.

Played this game an unhealthy amount. Great fun if you like text based games. Not the best one out there, but good stuff.
The playable version of a YA high school fantasy novel, this game is very charming no matter what path you take.
While the story premise is good, the whole implementation of the CYOA of the game leaves a lot to be desired, and most of the characters are shallow due to very little character development.
On the CYOA front, the choices seems to have very little real impact throughout the story. I see-sawed from one side of the stat spectrum to the other, did questionable things for money and played the dating field with zero noticeable consequences throughout the story. All the choices could be made to feel more important simply by removing some of the ones available to you based on your current stats.
Story wise the game has promise, but there was a definite feel of it being rushed towards the end, and the ending itself was a bit of a letdown.
It's possible that if I were to replay the game that I might see more impact on some of the other choices available, but after the experience had on my first playthrough I just don't feel compelled to return to Psy High anytime soon.
The ending felt rushed, and there could have been a little more character development, but overall, it was enjoyable.
100/100 Scrub's Games best text game I've played, would grind for achivments anyday.

I've been playing a lot of Choice of Games products lately and feel like this falls squarely in the middle of the pack. The story is a "coming of age" type set in a high school with you, as the main character, facing some basic and trope-heavy moral issues. There's charm to it and it gave enough opportunity to explore distinctly different moral alignments but I didn't play through it more than once to see what would happen if I did so. Reading through the other reviews, some seemed a little harsh. I do think this is a game suited for people who like shows like "Smallville" and are happy to stick in the straight middle between silly/hillarious and dark/edgy. My biggest criticism would be that I felt most of the side characters were a little hollow and didn't feel as attached to them as I have in other CoG games like Choice of Robots, Tin Star, and Ratings War.
In a way it made me think of "Buffy the vampire slayer" : a group of teenager led by a powerful main character and some more or less useful support characters fighting an evil plot lurking under highschool all the while living the drama of teen years. It's funny and really teen-like, believable. The characters and the story do lack a little depth here and it's still far from matching the epicness of something like "Buffy" but still it is nicely written.
You can play as a male character and romance male characters
This isn't so much a computer game as it is a virtual version of those Choose Your Own Adventure books we all loved as kids. So don't go into this expecting it's anything else.
This is a pretty interesting story about a bunch of high school students who have recently manifested weird psychic powers, and you are one of those students. It lets you pretty much be anyone who fulfills pretty much any role within the high school, and the story and the options you get actually change based on what kind of student and what kind of person you're playing as, which is neat. Overall, I think it does a very good job of taking the old choose your own adventure format and improving upon it. It's a pretty fun read.
Andrew is the best boyfriend. His confession towards the MC was so adorable that I fell inlove with him. It was so difficult when I had to replay the game again to get achievements because I couldn't be mean to Andrew.

There is something I feel needs to be said about these, given the nature of some of the negative reviews. They are books. They are not games in the sense of playing with graphics and sound and such. CoG got its start on kindle, which is where I first found them, and since then, they have made quite the impressive library of chose your own adventure books in the style of old: Pure, immersive, branching narrative. If you like to read, and love a story that feels like you control it, then you will like Choice of Games in general (though some individual stories are duds.) but please understand that it takes a lot of work and effort to get a story that does allow this level of interactivity, and given the nature of the games, I think they generally do a tremendous job of it.
In addition, they tend to release a demo of the first few chapters, and sell each individual book at a very low price. I think that these games are a good buy, and enjoy them quite a bit. They have multiple authors, and each has their own unique style, so even if one of the game books does not catch your interest, download one of the other free demos, and don't let one of them being bad push you away from the company in general.
This game was fun and the characters done well
Everything was going nice until a scene kinda broke the whole experience.
[spoiler] I had just joined the Golden Crown Club, and my GF Taylor was happy about it. Then in the next scene she just walks up to me and says "Were done! I`m breaking up with you after THAT." Id didnt make any sense, and the game didnt said anything about "you were confuse about that" or "You didnt understand why that happend", it just went like "She broke up with you. Now what youre going to do?". Nothing against a break up (Oh it happend so many times IRL) but this is a crucial momment and it was poorly written. Ruined the experience for me. [/spoiler]
I've read through it once and I found it to be a really fun story although not groundbreaking and some parts were freaking rushed. Some scenes really needed more detail and the characters should have become more memorable throughout the story, sadly they didn't. I didn't really mind the absence of graphics and music or soundeffects. It still was a nice experience.
In general I really appreciated the tons of options one could choose from throughout the story, although some sounded very much alike. It weren't answers that could lead one to either victory or dead randomly ... the outcome made sense. I've played enough interactive stories (visual novels) to be able to tell that this isn't always the case.
Erm... What I thought was a bit off, was the money... Did one only have to save it up for the prom? How superficial. What I also didn't like was, that I really couldn't understand how the stats would change. Sometimes I chose options I thought would boost my magic stat for example... But it either didn't increase or it dropped. Whuuuuut. Maybe my character just slacked off too much, don't know.
What's more? Last but not least I liked the general look and feel. I don't know if the UI of the game is totally basic or not or if it's just considered basic but I liked it. One could check the stats and the achievements and oh well... it was nice.
So... I'd definitely recommend it. I mean, the story is nothing out of the ordinary but it is nice enough so it's definitely a game worth purchasing, even more so, since it's really at a fair price.
Sure, it's a bit cliche, but this interactive novel is quite a bit of fun.
Quite a number of other reviews I've read are saying that the major problem with this one is the characters and the length. Sure, this one is quite a bit shorter than other titles in the Choice Of Games collection, but it does have a lower price tag then the others and I feel like I got what I paid for.
I do agree with the others when they say that they didn't feel as connected to the characters as they would in the other CoG titles, but I didn't mind. With a short one-off story like this, it worked for me.
All in all, pretty good story. If you haven't read/played a game like this before, I'd recommend jumping onto a couple of the other Choice of Games titles before coming over to this one, but it is worth it!
Mediocre all around, plot, characters, etc. The kids having psychic powers was barely relevant to the plot. Easily the worst of the three Choice of Games interactive stories I've read (Community College Hero and Choice of Robots are both recommended).
Compared to other games of this kind (Tin Star, Choice of Robots, Choice of Broadsides, Zombie Exodus ...) it's extremely childish. If you're past the "making out with cute girls and being a popular jock" phase, it might not ravish you. Nonetheless, you keep reading and spend a quite alright time.

Bon Psy High, je vais commencer négativement, je m'attendais à mieux.
Commençons par le commencement, jeu full anglais, que du texte, pas d'audio ni vidéo.
L'histoire nous place dans la peau d'une personne ayant des pouvoirs de clairvoyance au sein d'un collège américain, vous n'êtes pas la seule personnes doté de pouvoir, et qui aime jouer les détectives pour se faire un peu d'argent.
Partant de là, pour un jeu choice of game, il y a pas mal de scenarios qui peuvent être écris, je me suis jeté dedans sans trop d'apprioris et j'ai essayé de faire une bonne-mauvaise fin, le genre où le méchant c'est toi et où tu t'en tire royalement.
Donc j'ai choisis les options qui me semblaient les plus en rapport avec mon objectifs et là, après l'avoir tout juste fini, je peux dire que je suis déçu. L'histoire aurait pû se focaliser énormément sur les pouvoir et les relations entre les "supers-élèves" du collège ... mais non.
L'histoire aurait pû alors s'axer énormément sur l'utilisation de ses pouvoirs pour résoudres des enquêtes toujours plus compliquées ... mais non.
Là on se retrouve dans un genre de sims où l'on doit augmenter son niveau d'études, sortir avec une ou plusieurs personnes, résoudre un mystère banal, participer à une fête régionale, aller au bal de promo et .. ah oui ... résoudre aussi une énigme magique et en tirer les conséquences, mais bon c'est acessoire hein ...
Sérieusement je m'attendais à tout sauf à ça, pour moi il y a une personne qui à écris un script qui passerai pour n'importe quel jeu, puis une autre qui l'a reprit en ajoutant à gauche et à droite des éléments magiques afin que ça colle au thème du jeu, c'est dommage, réellement, surtout quand on voit que la fin est baclée.
Je ne vous le recommande que si vous avez déjà terminé tout les autres choice of games trois fois d'affilées, pour les autres vous trouverez de meilleures productions ailleurs qu'ici donc je ne vous le recommande pas.

Loved this as i love all choice of games interactive novels none have topped zombie exodus so far though now that is a true journey. yet this game was a good read and i enjoyed it very much although i could guess a few plot points but it didint phase me as much, very good

This story was short, predictable, and easy. Sad, because I liked a few other stories from Choice of Games and would usually want to replay them. But not this one.
First off, the characters' personalities barely had depth. No one was complex, which pretty much guaranteed my lack of attachments towards the characters. I didn't feel anything when making choices or reading because I couldn't relate to any of them. They were stereotypical to a fault.
There were also a few inconsistencies in the story. For example I was holding a job, yet the father of the protagonist said that he was the only one making money if the mom lost her job... and then the game suggested that I had too many things to do, so I had to drop something. I ended up dropping the job since it didn't seem like it had any real significance to the story. The cash I made didn't have any bearing to the game at all. What was the point of getting a job if it was barely acknowledged?
[spoiler] It also all just seemed so convenient to take down the villains, like how the protagonist just *happened* to find confidential tax information by doing some internet research, of all ways. Thing is, taxes aren't public unless the protagonist was some kind of elite hacker, but the game didn't make any mention of that. Also, students would not be normally suspicious about a teacher's salary and a nice house unless they had real reason to care or had it out for them. As for the villains, they barely had any chemistry at all. Their partnership was barely just a thread. People who commit tax fraud and brainwash people together would have a more familiar relationship, no?[/spoiler]
Anyway this story has potential, but my impression is that it gave the bare minimum and it's still not complete. Even the endings could've been a bit more expanded upon to at least instill some satisfaction on the choices I've made, but it just lacked there.

Was a huge fan of this companies superhero games, and found this one to be cute but rather unmemorable. The conclusion I reached by the end of the story wasn't all that interesting and I wish I had more of a chance to get to know the characters. But it was cute.
The shortest story you'll ever play, but great for new players who are just starting to play text-based games. It come with that low-risk expected outcome plot where there are really only two real endings (no spoilers here). I like the school genre because of the school-romance feeling. Psy High feels like something that could be great but someone ripped the detail and effort from it and what was left was a plain donut. The donut was tasty but if it had that jelly filling it would had made a great meal.
For it's relaxing plot line and shortness I give this game a 6/10, but an 8/10 for beginners.
I played four hours of this and multiple stories because IT'S FUN. BUY IT.
I liked the story a lot. I do wish I could "create" a character and see things.

It took me roughly five hours to complete this (game?), and during those five hours I was hooked; Seriously I couldn't stop playing. The story may have been slightly shallow and predictible (dont expect a master peice here) yet I still found it enjoyable to read and (play?) through, never the less its entertaining as hell. Sell a few steam cards and buy this game, even if you are only slightly inclined towards young adult novels or choose your own adventure games, because trust me it makes a nice read.
Had to play the whole thing through in one sitting, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to my next couple of play throughs!
Disapointingly short, but for this price it's must buy
I've previously played Tin Star by Choice games and LOVED it. I totally reccommend it to anyone who's bought any of their other games.
Anyway, onto Psy High. It is definately not the worse interactive novel I have ever played, but not the best. I enjoyed all of the 5-6 hours I played it, however, and I believe I will play it again. It's an easy read, with a choice on every page but maybe a dozen. The writing is simple but not insulting, and the characters you interact with aren't bad. There's some suggestion with teenage stereotypes, but that's mostly directed towards you, and the path/dialouge options, which can be very direct and hand-holdy - though it isn't BAD, necessarily. I'm coming from playing Tin Star, which is much different and more detailed.
Anyway, the long and short of it is that the game IS good and is pretty original. It's another high school setting, but the story is pretty interesting. There's the option to be straight, gay, bisexual, and the ability to cause a lot of trouble around school by various avenues. It's worth the 2.99 I paid for it. If you want an interesting, homey/casual little adventure that takes place in a magical Massechusettes town, go ahead and pick the game up.

comparing this game to zombie exodus psy high felt a bit short
no matter what u do things alway's feels wrong eg doing whats best for all will leave your friends unstatisfied doing what most of your friends will leads to things i dont want to talk about and i dont have a bond with the characters as i had in zombie exodus where i maintained a neutral-good relation with everyone
in zombie exodus i was like whoa this game lets me choose where i go
where i really felt like a commando because the choices i made felt tense in a good way and led to the way i want without knowing if the game would think the same such as packing your gear to go on a mission
all u knew about the location was okay there are very dark corners so i need a flaslight but if i use that i will be easily spotted so perhaps bringing nightvision with me is a good idea too but that uses battery's so when will i put it on only do that in dangerous area's
that kind of things are missing in psy high
i feel forced to do things here as like its pre written i did enjoy the game but "there was something that felt off and i dont know what" perhaps it was the way of writing perhaps it was that the story was a bit short
the good part its like reading a book it felt like 30 mins in reality i had 6 hours

The concept definitely seems extremely cheesy and low-brow. And hey, maybe it is, and maybe this game isn't for people who think they're too good for high school teen stories. Honestly, when I first saw the tagline "Teen supernatural mystery!", I was a bit put off, too, I'll admit.
But, over-all, in spite of the setting and concept which would normally be regaled to the young adult bargain bin at Barnes and Nobles (Does B&N even have bargain bins?) the game is, if not artfully crafted, very fun for those who are willing to not take themselves or CYOA games too seriously, and just engage in a bit of a simple and cliche story.
Mechanically, it's a bit above average compared to other Choice of Games stuff. There's multiple "morality stats", each one being played out at plenty of different points throughout the game. You have several "ability stats", which do directly influence your success at various choices - It is even possible to "lose" the game if you attempt to do something drastic that you don't have the ability level to do.
Story and character wise, again, it's a bit simple and cliche, sure, but the characters are charming and engaging in spite of this. The most important thing for me, though, is the fact that, unlike several other "Choice" of Games titles, this one actually has significantly different endings depending on the choices you've made throughout the game. I won't spoil what these are, of course, but it is refreshing to see a CYOA where what you choose to do actually has impact, rather than just "(Character Name) will remember this." (They never do.)
Overall: 8/10, don't play if you're too stuck-up to enjoy something a bit less cerebral than other CoG titles.
I thought that this game, while not one of the best Choice of Games has done, was an excellent story. It was well contained and wrapped up nicely, giving me the completle feelling. I would recomend this to any fans of CYOA games. 8 out of 10 in my book guys. Keep up the good work.

It's an... ok game. The first type of game I've played in this genre and I have to say it was underwhelming. It was really obvious what my choices would lead to and there weren't too many meaningful choices. I understand with the high school setting the most popular subjects to experience are popularity, romance, and friendships, but this game doesn't do well with any of these.
Its a story game man with nothing but text. Theres not even a soundtrack. So what the game does present must be top notch. Romance is very linear and predictable because if you generally pick the "flirty" option then you're gonna get the girl; but if you pick the "awkward" option, you won't and it's pretty obvious which is which. Same problem with the friendships; very linear and most of the time fairly predictable. Also, at the start of the game, its very easy to gain altuistic points because you're helping people with stuff that you didn't even choose to do. The game just throws you into the world which is kind of cool, but there was no real background information. Like I have super powers man! Explain that ♥♥♥♥ for more than a few paragraphs!
The characters are hardly memorable because they're the sterotype people you meet in high school; the childhood friend, the bad kid, the mean kid, the cheer captain, the football captain, the popular mean girl, ect. No one has a really unique story and its a shame because there was potential for them to be really fleshed out.
Overall, this game is a good read if you're just bored as hell and have nothing else to play. Nostalgic because its high school but unimmersive because some of the dialouge is just weird and kids would never say that ♥♥♥♥. Fun because you can date multiple girls at once (which was the primary reason i played this game), but ♥♥♥♥♥♥ because those girls don't ever seem to have interaction between each other.

If you desperately need another Choice of Games adventure and you like high school dramas, then pick up Psy High, but if not, then I'd recommend passing on this one and going for one of their other games.
Mechanically, everything's fine. There's no grammar or spelling errors, and choices lead to logical conclusions. Unfortunately, the writing's pretty average: all of the characters are likeable or dislikeable as required, but do nothing to break out of the "high school drama" cast stereotypes. You've got your sweet girl/boy-next-door childhood friend, your bad boy/girl rebel, your perfect and gorgeous (with little else beyond that) crush, your fashionable queen-bee rich ♥♥♥♥♥ - the list goes on, and none of them are anything you haven't seen before. The psychic aspect is mildly interesting, but again, reminiscent of Sky High and other "teens with superpowers" works.
It's unoffensive and the price tag is cheap, so you could do worse when it comes to choose-your-own-adventure games. But you could do a lot better, as well.
For three bucks it is a good game!! It was very interesting and i did enjoy playing and discovering all the rewards of options i chose. That being said, as much as i really liked it it could have been a lot better. it felt like a story that i would write in middleschool, trying to shove all my fictional and logical ideas and detail into one very short story. There was almost no room for character development which was a huge dissapointment. For example i had the option to date a cgharacter in the story but had no option to learn more about them other than the fact i had a crush on them appearently. The story would benifit very much with extra revisions but in general it was a good story filled with romance, fantasy, and desision making which i love in any game or work of literature.

Very pleasant game, a large amount of choices ! So many that you'll enjoy to restart the game several time. Big life time game and small price.
Even if I could swallow the fairly amateurish writing, I got a scripting error after one of my choices (something about hide and seek?) and now when I try to load the game, all I can look at are my stats. It won't let me progress any farther. Might have tried to see it to the end, but can't now. Oh well, save your cash.

Some choices are kinda useless and the story is really forced, most of the time you'll only be able to change who you go out with and how you deal with the ending.
I love it. You can romance 4 girls in all and theres an achievement for dating 3 of them at once. What i figured out was that that means cheating on 3 people, not a polyamorous relationship like I had hoped
I'd like to point out that I really enjoy choose your own adventure games. I really enjoyed Choice of Robots, which led me to play Psy High; they're from the same company.
I really wanted to like this story, but I just couldn't. Too much of this story was obviously borrowed from other ideas. Lots of games and literature borrow ideas from pre-existing stories, but it becomes a problem when nothing new is added to the borrowed material.

[spoiler]Okay, there's lots of things you could take that from, but I got a Secret Circle vibe from this.[/spoiler] The big one is a conspiracy happening within a high school to make students "better." [spoiler]If this isn't an idea from the movie Disturbing Behavior, then I'd like to know what did inspire it. No, seriously, it's on Netflix (at the time I wrote this review, anyway). If you've played this game, watch that movie, and tell me how it isn't pretty much the exact plot.[/spoiler]
It's also too short. The writing is mediocre. There were at least a couple of scripting errors.
I like choose your own adventure games, but this one just had too many issues. The achievements were fairly easy to get though.
I can't wait to play more games like this. This game was cute, exciting, and really fun to go through. There are so many paths and I felt like i could create exactly the kind of person I was in school and you can too. I am terrible at reviews but definitely give this a chance.
Very interesting. As usually with this type of games, we create our protagonist and shape his skills, personality and relationships with others. At first glance plot may seem like teenage drama plus psychic abilities, but actually the story is solid and very engaging. Choices are good and some of them bring a lot of satisfaction (or the contrary). Try it :)

Adore this game. If we could have all YA novels in this medium, the world would be a better place.
I went into this game expecting it to be like Surviving High School or Cause of Death. You know before EA thought it was best to remove those games from the App store. Anyway, it's not at all like those games, but i actually enjoyed it. It's completely story driven and even though it's a text adventure, I really felt as if my choices made an impact and that i was a high school detective. And besides its only $2.99 and available for PC and Mac. If your a fan of huge gameplay then this game may not be for you. But if your a fan of interesting stories, and are tolerant of text adventures, then this is a must buy. Rebecca Slitt has a very creative mind and if she makes another one like this or even a sequel then i hope she puts in at least music, and pictures so we can really create our own character.

Кто бы мог подумать, что обычная интерактивная новелла (даже не визуальная) может быть такой увлекательной? Но тем ни менее так и есть. Вы как бы читаете увлекательное юношеское фэнтези про учеников школы, которые открывают в себе магические способности (школа при этом самая обычная, а не какой-то пафосный Хогвартс, хотя там многие прибегают к "трюкам"), но при этом вы же учавствуете в создании, отвечая на вопросы и таким образом решая кем будет ваш персонаж, какого он будет пола и ориентации, во что одеваться, как общаться с родителями, с кем заводить романы, к чему стремится в своей обычной и паранормальной жизни и как этих целей достигать. И как бы неправильных вариантов тут нет, даже "плохую" концовку интересно получить, хотя стать могучим злодеем, согласитесь интереснее, нежели марионеткой? Ну или героем, который всех спас, да ещё и наладил свою личную жизнь - тоже вполне вариант.
Конечно, нельзя сказать, что выбор прям уж безграничен, но он достаточно разнообразен, чтобы вам хотелось перепроходить снова и снова, пробуя разные комбинации. Всем любителям хороших приключений, разнообразной вариативности и тестов категорически рекомендую. Есть лишь две вещи которые могут встать у вас на пути - разумеется необходимо хотя бы хорошее знание английского, потому что только на нём есть этот текст и второе... описание в стиме немножко спойлерит сюжет, хотя и не то чтобы очень. Несомненно я ещё пару раз перепройду эту штуку и обязательно поиграю в другие в этом жанре и от этих авторов.
I enjoyed my first playthrough, quick question, can you get at any of the teachers?
I played a lot of Choice of Games' interactive novels. I liked most of them, but I feel the need to downvote this one, especially as it received so much positive votes, I think I need to tell some negative things about this novel.
First, the choices are way too obvious and non story-driven. I mean by "obvious" that, most of times, you know clearly what will be the consequences when you make a choice. And the worst is that these choices seem only there to provide a justification for the skills & stats: the choices basically are always "I'd like to solve this issue by using Magic, and improve my Magic stat" or "I'd use my Academics stat to pass this skill check". The consequence of these is that I never felt immersed in the story, strangely it gave the feeling that I was "grinding" my stats like in a MMORPG... And that's not what I want for a interactive novel.
And on the story itself, I found it too simplistic. Maybe I placed my hopes too high for a "high school teenager drama", but comparing to other novels of Choice of Games, the story of Psy High is really poor: full of stereotypes, some side stories are not developed enough. And I never felt any moment of tension buildup or thrilling, the story is just shallow, and everything seemed so easy...
Conclusion:
2/5, it's like Twilight... some may like it, but I definitively think there are better games/novels in the genre. If you like interactive novels in the them of "supernatural powers", the Hero Project series is way better choice. And if you search for a good CYOA novel, Choice of Robots is waaaaaaaaaaay better than this.
Really enjoyed reading this. The characters are well drawn, and the writing really draws you in.
tHIS IS A BEAUTIFUL GAME A WOMDERFUL STORY
Astonishingly poor. Very lazy and formulaic writing. While the author is mechanically literate and capable of basic plot planning, it reads like a condescending impassionate account of a middle aged person who is struggling with both remembering what those wacky tasteless dumb teenagers are supposed to be like and not falling asleep from the lack of any genuine interest in the subject matter. Needless to say, anything anyone might consider exciting about being a teenager is presented clinically at best. Often it's, again, condescending to a degree that is irksome even to someone who isn't a teenager anymore simply by the virtue of empathy. Which just makes you wonder who exactly was supposed to be the target audience of this work. Who is supposed to enjoy this oversimplified mockery of teenage life and why? I can only imagine perhaps pre-teens actually getting excited over this glimpse simply due to the fact that they're the only ones who might not know better and not realize just how hilariously fake it is.
There is very little to enjoy in this from any perspective. Every plot element is sterile, predictable and pragmatic. The way it's delivered it could as well have been about financial bookkeeping rather than magic, friendship or romance. There is no feeling to anything. There is absolutely no subtlety. Certain events and scenes are absurdly blunt and cheesy, serving as the only real source of amusement together with some silly action choices here and there. There is even a blatantly obvious self-insert character. I honestly don't know how much mindnumbing is necessary to be able to take any of this seriously. I certainly couldn't.
... And then I got an ending where my character ended up being a [spoiler]permanently confused mentally impaired couch potato incapable of coherent thought or perception[/spoiler]. Which has left me with very strange feelings. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm all for depressing endings that punish me for acting unwisely, which I absolutely have, but if you try to match this to the rest of the game which is absolutely impossible to take seriously... it just doesn't work. You can't just make me respect your story in one swift vindictive move. I mean, this ending is actually the most, or rather the only daring unexpected plot device in the whole story and how dark and depressing it is only makes it even more absurd and hilarious. It doesn't help that it's possibly a punishment only for my very last action and it's hard to say with certainity if that's the case. It's really hard to describe just how out of place and how big of a mismatch in tone this feels, but I certainly found it noteworthy so there you go anyway.
So yeah. This simply won't do. I can't recommend this to anyone for any reason. Especially not to fans of Veronica Mars, from which this work... tries to... take inspiration... sort of. Unless you want to see what a fanfiction of a cool drama series would look like if it was in the accounting book genre.
