There is no troof.
Reminiscent to one of those troll platformers like I wanna be the guy, but relatively easier, and short.
Still, a quite fun enough experience

My only criticism is that there's no way to save your game. If you lose all of your lives or if you close out then you have to start from the very beginning again, which stinks because some of the platforming and tricks thrown at the player can be hard. It is in keeping with the nature of classic video games though (like leaving an NES running to "save"), and I don't think the game is that long anyway, so I can't be too upset. It's a good time waster, neat little potato guy.

I would have recommended this if it had some type of save function, as is the game is just rage inducing enough to cause you to rage quit, and then you have to start from 0. I get it's a game jam game, and probally not all that long. I was on the fence with this one but the $4 price point, with no save or rogue-like elements to keep it interesting keeps me from doing that. There are flash games like this for free online.
This game is the real-life example of psycho-thriller, as of when you think there is nothing more that can surprise you a boulder pops off out of nowhere. I was literally trying not to pull all my hair out when playing this. 10/10 a true torture

It is a fun experience... and discovering the titular Troof is enough of a reason to play.
However the game is short, so much that you can clear it well under an hour for both achievements if you're comfortable with some good platforming challenges. The full price of $3.99 doesn't really reflect the actual gameplay in my opinion, though on sales it's usually under $1 and that's about right for the experience.
Other than that it's short and sweet adventure with graphics and music that remind me of good old classic indies like VVVVVV, Super Hexagon, Super Wagon Adventure, etc.

Potatoman Seeks the Troof is genuinely atrocious, and does not hold up one bit for the present day. It's the exact game you'd expect with from the early 2010s, rage platformer that's clear youtuber bait with "rawr xd aren't we so quirky" writing. Just skip, unless you're really itching to go back to the 2010s.

The obstacle patterns are almost random so it can pose quite a challenge, albeit a short one. Some humor helps you to keep on going. I would recommend it only to nostalgics (in that case, add 2 to the score).

It absolutely was but it's really good.

Eh, it's a bit dated in both humour and style (not music though, loved the music). There's this one section with boulders which is way too heavy with RNG, I never felt like I got good at it, only lucky. But the ending redeemed the game for me. Worth sticking around for.

Once I knew the troof, I immediately went to bed. That night I slept without realizing that my life would never be the same again. I had experienced the peak of videogame perfection, and I haven't been able to enjoy another game ever since. It was a very deep and touching experience.
Fun little game. It is very short, which incentivizes speed running it to play perfectly. Even if completing a game very fast isn't your thing, it is still simple fun with some nifty gimmicks on the last level.

Beat the game in 20 minutes and didn't enjoy any of it. Controls felt off, the game's "humour" weren't even close to good, like half of the "challenges" were from surprise kills that wouldn't get you more than once or twice once you know they're coming. I've played dozens of free flash games that were as good or better than this. I got this game as a gift but I get the feeling that it's the kind of game that becomes dirt cheap on sale, but it's not worth any amount of money.
It's a short and goofy platformer - definitely wait for a steep discount sale though; it's not worth full price.

A mediocre meme game that is more enjoyable to watch then to actually play. If you saw someone stream it, don't buy it, you've already experienced the totality of the game and what it has to offer.
A short and charming platformer with a lo-res retro aesthetic and a surprising amount of metaphysical navel-gazing.
Took me about half and hour to get the first achievement, then ten more minutes for the second. There isn't much reason to come back and play it again, but it's simple fun for what it is.
Potatoman is still missing to this day.

I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

The pixel graphics is kinda charming. However, the game is great at finding innovative ways to annoy the player and be obnoxious. Certainly not for players who aren't into masochism.
I guess another positive is that this might be good content for streaming, but othewise, I wouldn't recommend.
Found it on CoolMathGames forever ago, decided I wanted to play the whole thing and it's really cute. It's a well made game, well worth the money, my only gripe is how insanely and unnecessarily difficult the rock section is at the end of the mountain level, (level 4). Other than that, I loved it!
Description: You play as a little potato guy travelling through the different areas of the world until you reach 'enlightenment' and then, !! (spoilers) !!, you get planted as a potato on someone's farm at the end.

I would want to recommend this game, but the final section of level 4 with the rolling rocks is completely miserable. I spent more time attempting, failing, and walking back to that level than I spent in the rest of the game combined, including level 5.
Enjoyable game, but I think it is better games in its genre. Still good if you like this type of games.

This game is so cute and fun. I like that there is variation on each run, so it's never completely identical. The way the levels progress and the aesthetic changes is really satisfying and beautiful. I love the vibe of the game as well as the soundtrack. I definitely want to try speed-running this in the future! I'm so glad I randomly got a free redeem for this game by watching someone's stream or else I might have missed out on the fun!
It's not challenging because it's a precision platformer, it's challenging because of randomness and gotcha moments.
Pitfall on the Atari 2600 if it were an existential vision quest. Starring a potato.

Potatoman Seeks the Troof

There are very few games that can cheer me up when I'm feeling low, and Potatoman Seeks the Troof is one such game. It's a very colorful side-scrolling platformer that's a mix of action and adventure with a small bit of puzzle gameplay. The game mechanics are very simple, as is the goal: guide Potatoman as his quest to find the Troof leads him through various locales filled with dangerous and absurd obstacles. The pixel art and animations are really good, and the sound effects are also noteworthy. Control of P-Man also feels perfectly responsive.
I really have nothing bad to say about this gem of a game. It's short, but it's a blast to play, and I love revisiting Potatoman's crazy adventures as he seeks the Troof. Even at full price (currently $4 USD), if you like the sound of a quick and silly adventure, I eagerly recommend this.

I seeked the Troof and i found it.
I absolutely loved this game! It's a challenging platformer that kept me engaged and entertained from start to finish. While some may find the difficulty level to be high, I thought it added to the excitement and sense of achievement when I finally beat each level.
Despite only having 5 levels, I found the gameplay to be very well-designed and each level felt unique and interesting. The controls were tight and responsive, which made the platforming feel very smooth.
The graphics and sound were also top-notch. The visuals were vibrant and colorful, while the sound effects and music added to the overall experience.
And let's not forget about the ending - it was simply fantastic. I won't give anything away, but I was blown away by the creativity and humor of it all.
Overall, I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a good platformer. It's challenging, engaging, and a whole lot of fun. Definitely a must-play!
