The art style is what drew me in. The story was tragically beautiful. I enjoyed the atmosphere and puzzles. I was pleasantly surprised by a couple of the voice actors. All of the voice acting was great though. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I'll be attempting more playthroughs in the future to get all achievements.

If you expected Hell to be full of lava and pitchforks, Pinstripe turns your plans upside down. Here, "Hell" looks like an illustration by Tim Burton who drank too much cold coffee: it's gray, it's frozen, and it's populated by creatures in desperate need of a hug or a therapist.
Why it's worth playing (through the eyes of the community):
"Nightmare Before Christmas" vibe: Visually, the game is a gem. Every frame looks hand-painted. If you're the type who can sit in one place for 5 minutes just to look at the background and listen to the haunting music, you'll love it.
Teddy and Bo: You play the role of a former minister (quite unlikeable at first) who is looking for his daughter. Their relationship, although presented in fragments, is heartbreaking by the end. It's not just a game about platforming, regret, and how far you'll go to fix a mistake.
The weird humor: While the story is tragic, the dialogue is surprisingly funny and sarcastic. It's the kind of humor that makes you grin while wondering if it's moral to laugh in Hell.
What might annoy you:
It's shorter than a line at the ANAF: You can finish it in 2-3 hours. If you get it at full price, you might feel a little bit of a dent in your wallet. Advice from Steam veterans: get it on sale.
"Sunday" gameplay: Don't expect epic fights or brain-frying puzzles. It's a relaxed (sometimes even too simple) game, where the atmosphere does all the heavy lifting.
My "Steam-style" conclusion:
Pinstripe is like a bedtime story read by a slightly overly cynical person. It won't make you a platformer master, but it will leave you with a pleasant melancholy and a desire to call your family.

I was a bit skeptic of the game first. But it drew me in and in the end I really enjoyed the stay.
So overall I will recommend this. But despite the wonderful art, visual and musical, I was left a bit puzzled. Not about the story, I thought this was presented quite clever, but about the game and what did not work. I thought of stuff where I said to myself "Surely I have to do this!! Oh and maybe even that will work!". But none of my ideas worked. Maybe that is intended, but still.. this is in the end a strong feeling I had when finishing the game.
To say- maybe don't expect too much depth from this game.

//As of this review a lot of the achievements are broken or activate only on multiple runs. This was also very confusing. Especially because there is a speedrun achievement and other stuff where you expect to have it unlocked the moment you achieved it. But this is only a sidenote, for people who care about that stuff.

Contra todo pronóstico, Pinstripe no es una juego de misterio, ni una aventura gráfica, es un plataformas de puzzles. Está bien. Es sencillo, corto, y tiene una dirección artística excelente. Pinstripe no es nada fuera de lo ordinario, pero es sólido y funcional, y se puede decir lo mismo de su historia y cómo emplea las metáforas. Si tengo una queja, es lo mal indicadas que están algunas zonas transitables, el backtracking para conseguir dinero y que la progresión de un puzzle se bloquee, aunque sepas la respuesta, si no tienes los elementos que te la dicen. Aplica esto también a los disparos de fuego o los códigos de las cajas fuertes, que habría agradecido que te permitieran usar desde el principio, premiando la curiosidad. Pinstripe está bien, igualmente, y si destaca por algo es su apartado artístico y su particular tono, entre infantil y perturbador.

(short version)
Wonderful music, and a creepy atmosphere, if that's what you have an itch for you can probally find the same for cheaper. $15 is highway robbery for what you get in this game, $7 would be more appropriate. Price point was the what tipped the scale for me to not recommend. A grain of sand in the desert of gaming.

(long version)
Pinstripe is a dark atmospheric game that has a lot of good things and a lot of bad things going for it for me I spent most of the game more irritated than fascinated. I don't hate flash games, but you can tell that this is one of them.

The good: The music is absolutely the best feature of this game by a long shot. The dark atmosphere is a distant second as there are other games that do better with less pretention i.e. little nightmares etc.

The bad: The developer really loves his/her toilet humor to the point of it being immersion breaking. I was constantly reminded that I was playing a game by every fart noise, poop joke, or pee reference. I get it you're into this stuff in a BIG way, it's just not "my" thing okay? (so stop hammering it on the player).

Without getting into spoilers I already knew how the game ended in the first 3 minutes and pretty much the plot as well (I googled the ending when writing this). I'm not assuming I'm some super genius, more along the lines of saying if I figured out the plot and end that quickly, I imagine 90% of the player base did as well. Unfortunately to me makes the game feel pretentious with all it's "mystery" or air of.

Lastly $15 is beyond an insane asking price, and I noticed this on mid level games that I've been reviewing recently. I'm starting to wonder are they being priced highly on purpose, just to constantly be on sale for what their true price should be just to drive up sales? In my opinion I'd not pay more than $5-7 for this.

Great game with a great story! I played through it twice. I would highly recommend it!

Some negatives:
1) This game is a puzzle platformer so it made sense to use a controller, but there was a part when I had to switch to mouse and KB because you have to aim and shoot super fast at balloons to progress. I only had to do this for a minute or five and didn't have to do it on the second playthrough.
2) Unfortunately the Steam achievements seem to be broken.

Pinstripe es una experiencia side-scroller con una dirección de arte sobresaliente y un gameplay suficientemente divertido que rodean una historia que busca ser el núcleo de la experiencia. La vibra de incomodidad y fantasía acompañados por la belleza visual hace que sea singular. El juego no es un desafio pero sus mecánicas de combate, backtracking leve y puzzles cumplen en mantener al jugador enganchado. El mensaje de la historia es bastante directo y aunque el juego sea inmersivo, la historia no es tan impactante cómo los creadores lo intentaron hacer, a mi parecer. A pesar de esto, es un juego muy breve pero que presenta lo que quiere de forma concreta con una estética destacable.

Los controles son responsivos y aunque las mecánicas son limitadas, se sienten bien y en línea con la intención del juego. Nada del otro mundo, pero hecho a la medida de la experiencia. Al ser tan corto, tiene algunos detalles en el NG+ que le dan algo de valor a su rejugabilidad.

Historia [Argumento, guion, personajes, etc.]: 1.4 / 2.0
El núcleo del argumento es intrigante y la exploración de los demonios del protagonista es sutil pero efectiva en transmitir toda la culpa y su búsqueda por aceptarse a si mismo a pesar de su error fatal. Me gustó también como el juego transmite su mensaje anti adicciones. Sin embargo, le faltó un poquito más de sustancia para llegar más eficazmente a su cometido.

Visual [Gráficos, diseño, ambientación, etc.]: 2.3 / 2.5
La dirección de arte es excelente, es como ver un libro infantil en movimiento. Destaco el arte de los escenarios de fondo y los detalles de los distintos escenarios. Simple pero excelente, de lo mejor del juego.

Sonido [Voces, soundtrack, ambientación, etc.]: 1.6 / 2.0
Los tracks de cada sección transmiten mucha melancolía, a la vez que horror y tensión. No son piezas que escucharía fuera del juego, pero empalman muy bien con las situaciones y las emociones. Las actuaciones de voz también son muy buenas, a parte que hay apariciones especiales.

Проходится буквально за 30 мин., если быстро. Осмысленно за +-1 час, но для получения всех достижений понадобилось 7ч. т.к. одно забаговано [spoiler](в руководстве по всем достижениям, есть решение проблемы с удалением некоторых файлов через regedit. I paid €1.47 for this game and it is definitely worth it. I would never pay full price, it is finished quickly.

Graphically it's not too bad, it's nothing special but it's good for what it needs to be. The audio is also good.
In terms of gameplay, you are mainly solving puzzles. The story is also very good.

All in all, the price I paid for it is worth the game.

Lost power while playing and my save was deleted somehow. I had even saved it a few minutes prior. Not going to continue through as I got to a point where I had to backtrack to collect like 200 more ink drop things and I can't be bothered. You couldn't collect them prior to that point either so it's not like I missed a ton.

The writing feels pretty lazy, lots of potty humor. I was only a couple hours in so I assume it gets better. The voice acting is pretty good.

I really enjoyed this game. It had unexpected but surely welcome amounts of toilet humour, immaculate aesthetics, and fun riddles and minigames. The characters are charming and I loved the plot and the themes of addiction and its vicious circle. At some points it was buggy, with my character appearing inside a platform or at the wrong part of the screen, but I could easily avoid it by jumping before the screen transition. It's one of the games that helped push me towards making a Steam account when I played the demo at Armor Games, so it's an absolute [i]travesty[/i] I had it wait as much as it did before finally playing it.

虽然流程短，但是游戏的操作性和游戏性并不少，给人的感觉也很合适，有时恐怖，有时温馨，警示意味也很明显。整体非常棒，有一点不好是最后一关的6轮锁，不练习真的很难过。瑕不掩瑜，很推荐。正在肝全成就，未来可能玩到10小时。

在经历了多次的失败后，我生气了！这个游戏的成就系统做的很烂，可能是因为作者独自开发的缘故，在注册表中记录游戏时长的部分有问题，不能用正常的方法获得成就。

"速通恶魔"成就不能跳出的解决办法：在游戏开始前，或者在游戏中但是未通关的时候，删除注册表中记录游戏时长的值（每次保存游戏都会导致这个值错误），删除后在"The End"跳出后就会跳成就。

Great game. I played Neversong and Coma and this popped up on a big sale, so I grabbed it. Not sure why the sale was so drastic. The asking price is a bit steep for a few hours of gameplay, but it really is quite satisfying and unique; with a small sale, I'd say it's worth it. The atmosphere and vibe of the game feel great. The style of the characters, the complex visual layering of the scenes, the music and sounds, it all works very well together. The story, while fairly straightforward, comes through with a few clues, and some more overt comments by NPCs. It really is quite a sad story, but also quite beautiful in many ways. The combat is quite simple and unique, but overall very easy. You'll never die. There are a few mini games in the game that mix things up. The game might be short, but it's worth it.

- Ненапряжная, то, что нужно когда пришел с завода,
- Персонаж прикольно меняется в зависимости от выбранных вами диалогов (+ декорации финальной сцены).

- Наитупейшие диалоги (+ туалетный юмор 2 класса, основанный на рыгании и пердеже),

Demasiado plano, demasiado simple. Pinstripe se ve mejor en imágenes estáticas que en movimiento, y eso es algo un poco duro para un juego con esta presentación. Sin embargo, aunque no brille en nada tampoco puedo decir que tropiece en algo, por lo que, especialmente si no has jugado mil juegos del género, puede que encuentres algo más en él de lo que yo encontré.

I so badly want to press rhulvs up, I really do. But I can't due to two, if you ask me, major issues:
1) I played the game on my Steam Deck using an Xbox controller and it did not work. The aim would shake, almost like it thought I was using a mouse, and the examine window would open all the time. Whenever that opens, the current view resets making it impossible to complete puzzles.
2) In the end, there is a very far fetched puzzle involving a clock. Even after consulting a guide I thought to myself "Oh, come on".

The game will take you less than two hours to complete. The graphics is absolutely beautiful. The combat is simple. The pacing is good. It's a very solid and safe experience and, if you like these kinds of games, this is well worth your time. The game is a true testament that short, well crafted indie games are far more preferably than 80 hours AAA games. At least for me and, if you're here im guessing you feel the same.

I just feel the game could've used some more ironing out, play testing. Not supporting an Xbox controller (the most common PC gaming controller) is unacceptable. I almost refunded the game but in the end, I ended up completing the game using the Steam Deck controller just fine.

I feel that the end game could've used more polish.

It is a decent game but I do care about my achievements and this is extremely broken on here, it took me 6 play throughs to get all but one achievement even though I completed each several times. You need to constantly verify game files but it doesn't always work. The only achievement I don't yet have I have executed 5 times but each time it fails to give it to me.

If you care about achievements DON'T BUY it will only severely frustrate you....

Игра падает уже на третьем экране, но это можно обойти, если не открывать инвентарь. Еще через некоторое время крэшится уже на разговоре с сюжетным персонажем, 100% воспроизводимость бага, я дальше пройти не смог.

Форум завален безответными сообщениями о крэшах от других пользователей. Игра вышла в 2017, последнее обновление в 2017. Видимо, баги здесь навсегда.

The game is certainly not for everyone (it is not for me to be honest), but I played it a bit there a things which have been great:
* the atmosphere of the game is amazing. The sound design in particular kept me engaged quite a bit
* this counts into the first point, but given the game is kind of a horror game it does get the horrific aspect of it right
* I love the characters, the main character and his daughter & pinstripe as the main antagonist are well designed

I can generally recommend the game, but I felt it to be frustrating to find a solution for some of the puzzles. The game does not make it very obvious how to approach some types of puzzles first, so I felt stuck for a while until I read the walkthrough. I don't enjoy platformers or puzzle games in particular, so it might just be me anyway.

Игра действительно очень короткая, буквально 1-2 часа. НО она целиком и полностью была создана ОДНИМ человеком, а это уже интересно!

В игре не ведется прямое, четкое повествование сюжета, поэтому узнавать всю суть и детали приходится из коротких диалогов, намеков и найденных предметов. Какие-то моменты и вовсе остаются открытыми и тут в ход идёт ваша фантазия и рефлексия.

Pinstripe es una aventura de acción y plataformas 2D ambientada en un futuro distópico, similar al descrito por George Orwell en su novela “1984”. Ted deberá adentrarse en el infierno para recuperar a su niña, enfrentándose a demonios y oscuras criaturas armado únicamente con un tirachinas, resolviendo acertijos y sorteando toda clase de obstáculos que encuentre en su camino.

Se trata de una aventura en 2D, con elementos plataformeros, secciones de saltos, algún que otro combate poco relevante y puzzles/acertijos. El juego está pensado principalmente para usar teclado y ratón, ya que la mirilla de nuestro arma está optimizada para apuntar con velocidad y precisión. Los puzzles son variados, desde encontrar diferencias hasta explotar globos rápidamente, además de tener que lidiar con ciertos acertijos donde tendremos que encontrar contraseñas escondidas. Se trata de una aventura corta, pensada para pasarse varias veces, ya que podremos desbloquear ciertas zonas bloqueadas en la primera partida. A nivel gráfico, el juego luce bien, con un bonito y sencillo diseño y una temática oscura acorde con la trama principal.

Atendiendo a la historia, mecánicas y diseño, se trata de un buen juego, nada sobresaliente, pero que cumple con una trama sencilla y predecible, un apartado gráfico resultón y una jugabilidad bien planteada y variada, teniendo en cuenta la combinación de saltos, disparos y puzzles. Sin embargo, encontramos varios problemas. Funciona en Steam Deck, pero el mapeado de los controles nos obliga a usar teclado y ratón externos, puesto que algunos controles se solapan si usamos mando. En el teclado te obliga a saltar con la flecha hacia arriba, en lugar de la barra espaciadora, algo que algunos jugadores han criticado (a pesar de que no es difícil de acostumbrarse).
Por último, [u]la obtención de logros da muchos problemas y requiere que hagamos ciertos ajustes previos[/u] a jugar si no queremos perder el tiempo (yo me lo pasé una vez sin obtener ninguno). To be honest I enjoyed pinstripe, short and sweet little platformer with a nice story, good voice acting and nice art style to be honest I played two times because i wanted to know more about the character so I jumped in a second time.
So if you wanna play something nice that will you last an evening this game is for you.

Jogo de puzzle fofo, simples, curto e relativamente fácil. A arte é boa. Se você não se importa com uma experiência menos frenética e backtracking, pegue esse jogo quando tiver em promoção, dê uma relaxada e aprecie a história. Aparentemente, as conquistas não estão funcionando na Steam, então não compre com a intenção de platinar. Há duas rotas que você pode tomar, influenciando o final do jogo.
