Ci fu un periodo abbastanza ampio nel quale il mondo indie venne invaso da molti titoli accomunati dallo stesso genere di riferimento, ossia puzzle/platform a scorrimento, ciascuno che cercava di dire la propria con questa o quella meccanica peculiare: Capsized, Vessel, Dust giusto per citarne alcuni. Pid rientra nel calderone del periodo e senza dubbio riuscì a distinguersi per uno stile artistico, che non è invecchiato di una virgola, un po' meno per il gameplay, sempre trovato troppo farraginoso e con meccaniche ben pensate ma non sempre ben realizzate. Un prodotto riuscito a metà che consiglierei solo ai veri appassionati del genere o a chi, con pochi spicci, vorrebbe fare un salto indietro nel tempo nel mercato del gioco indipendente.

Pid is one of those games that's hard to forget — a beautifully atmospheric platformer wrapped in soft pastels and a genuinely lovely soundtrack, hiding a surprisingly punishing challenge underneath. The core mechanic of placing gravity beams to propel yourself through levels is clever and satisfying, and the level design stays creative for a good chunk of the game. That said, around the one-third mark the difficulty spikes hard, checkpoints become sparse, and what felt like thoughtful puzzle-solving starts turning into frustrating precision platforming with controls that feel a bit too floaty for how exacting some sections demand you to be. I still think it's worth experiencing for the atmosphere and originality alone, especially at the low price it usually sells for — just go in knowing it's more Super Meat Boy than Limbo, no matter how gentle it looks.

A cute platformer that was great at its time.

In Pid, you play as a little kid in a fantasy platformer setting. Graphics are 3D but all gameplay is limited to 2D. The main gist is the ability to create beams that attach to surfaces, stepping on these beams allow you to ride them to unreachable places. There's no double jump, wall climb, nor any other abilities but there's items that will help you like bombs, smoke to obscure cameras, etc.

The plot is not that different from other games like Heart of Darkness or Oddworld, you are a kid in an alien world trying to escape while finding weird people to explain a bit of the setting. For some reason, there's a co-op mode that looks more like a throwaway or a curiousity, there's no real advantages of playing with a friend.

Pid gives a great first impression, the first couple of levels are well designed and play well and fair. Unfortunately the second half of the game gets unfair quickly. Difficulty spikes a lot and hit collision is clunky. Achievements expect you to find ultra hidden collectables that are impossible to find without some kind of a guide.

There's a hard mode, which adds spikes and more enemies everywhere. Beating the game in hard is a real battle of endurance. You are not just trying to beat the game, you are fighting against the level designers and everything that the game is throwing at you.

Every couple of levels you will fight a challenging boss. They are fun for the most part and quite challenging. There's also a maze level that is only there for being annoying and extending the game. My favorite level is quite late, when you get out and find a magic powder that enables you to climb invisible stairs into the sky. It's a shame that moments like that are not that abundant.

At its best, it's a great game for short moments, and a frustrating mess in specific parts. It's better to play in short chunks. For a similar and better game, check Max: The curse of the brotherhood.

Notes:

* Game has coop but, not needed Everything unlocks in single player. There's no big advantage to coop as I see it.
* There is NO stage select, and the checkpoints usually don't allow you to move back. If you DID get caught by an unwanted checkpoint remember you can restart the entire stage. But otherwise it's one way...
* The Missables are the worst kind, Hidden secrets with no tracker or forgiveness. Missed one? start again.
* The basic mechanic of this game, the jump is... bad. The character slides constantly, he takes too long to rotate and has almost no air-control. it's the core mechanic of the game and it fees SOOO bad for me.
* the character's hitbox is much bigger than the visuals and swings when you rotate on the spot. You'll see when you meet the lasers.
* This game is easy and charming towards the start but ramps up HARD towards the end. You'll need to do pixel-perfect jumps on a tiny square and inch forward between lasers... And if you want the secrets/items, well they are behind challenges that ramp up MASSIVELY.
* Hard just adds enemies and spikes and missiles everywhere. If you thought it couldn't get harder.... oh boy.
* This game costs as much as Silksong (With a bit more frustration but less narrative and polish). Maybe only get this one at a very deep discount.

If you don't care for achievements you will enjoy the first half of this game, so feel free to try it but since anyone going for 100% will curse their aging reflexes and fingers like me...

Pid to typowa platformówka z mnóstwem mniejszych elementów, różnorodnością etapów i przeszkód oraz całkiem sporym zasobem mechanik czy narzędzi, pomagających radzić sobie w drodze do celu. Niestety, jest to jedna z tych gier, które irytują ponad miarę. I właśnie z tego względu, wyzwanie jakie narzuca Pid, pokonałem dwukrotnie, by moja ocena nie była zbyt emocjonalna.
[b]Inny świat[/b]
Oprawa jest estetyczna. Wszystko wygląda wystarczająco czytelnie, nie ma tu problemu z rozpoznaniem co jest tłem, co przeszkodą a co elementem do zebrania. Jedynie kwestia "widoczności" sekretów w miarę rozgrywki gdzieś zanikła. Elementy są rozróżnialne wedle funkcji którą sprawują. Np. patrząc na podstawową mechanikę gry, która pozwala wytworzyć na krótko strumień energii kinetycznej, to część wrogów jest na nią podatna a część nie. To rozróżnienie jest utrzymane przez całą rozgrywkę w prostym systemie kolorystycznym. Jeżeli chodzi o oprawę dźwiękową, to jest po prostu ok, ale też trudno mi się nad tym elementem zachwycać. Choć może jednak wspomnę, że gra zamiast rozmów, stosuje bełkot, którego osobiście bardzo nie lubię.
[b]Niezbadany teren[/b]
Historia opiera się o szereg kolejno następujących plansz. Jedne są bogatsze, inne biedniejsze w ilości elementów. Niemniej każdy etap, to w zasadzie zagadka środowiskowa. Naturalnie poza skakaniem między platformami przyjdzie Nam unikać kolców, aktywować płyty naciskowe i przełączniki, zaciągać przekładnie, przenosić klucz do zamkniętych drzwi, unikać szperaczy czy korzystać ze specjalnych instalacji. Co do budowy tych przeszkód, to nie mam większych zastrzeżeń, no chyba że mówimy o miejscach sekretnych. Te są potwornie męczące. Zaćkane przeróżnego rodzaju utrudnieniami, zazwyczaj musimy wykonać bezbłędnie, bo punkt kontrolny będzie najwcześniej przed miejscem, z którego tam się w ogóle dostaniemy. Jednocześnie trzeba zaznaczyć, że punktów kontrolnych nie jest mało, a jedynie ich rozłożenie czasem rozczarowuje. Również ze względu na sztywne kadry, pewną niedogodnością jest brak dobrego oznaczenia dołu, do którego na pewno nie chcemy spaść, ale i góry gdzie może moglibyśmy coś znaleźć, bo tak to przy podejściu "eksploracyjnym" nie ma szans na zdobywanie czegokolwiek. Natomiast nie wypada pozostać obojętnym na pomysłowość Twórców. Etapy, poza typowymi scenami, gdzie mamy wejście i wyjście z jasną drogą, co i rusz wyszarpują Nas z monotonii prowadząc przez etapy łącznikowe (pozbawione wrogów), ucieczki czy labirynty. Może ciągłość historii jest przez to zaburzona, ale przynajmniej jest ciekawiej.
[b]Strażnicy z odległej galaktyki[/b]
Rozmaitość przeciwników również powinna cieszyć. Są typowi ślepcy wykonujący rutynowe przejazdy, są przeciwnicy z dodatkowym polem widzenia, są latające, są skaczące, są strzelające i wypuszczające pociski naprowadzane, są same światła szperaczy przed którymi trzeba znaleźć zasłonę, są też kameleony przypominające bloki albo przeciwnicy którzy w sąsiedztwie generują między sobą śmiercionośne lasery. Ich pokonywanie jest możliwe bezpośrednio (wykorzystując bomby) i pośrednio (wmanewrowując ich np. na kolce). Pozytywnie jest też, gdy Bezduszne Osobniki Stawiają Się nam. Każdy z nich jest stosunkowo prosty, ale wymagający wykorzystania zdobytej, w trakcie wędrówki, wiedzy. Jednocześnie każdy jest inny i równie ciekawy.
[b]W kieszeni małego podróżnika[/b]
W ramach rozwoju fabularnego natrafimy na kolejne przeszkody, ale też na kolejne pomocne przedmioty. I tak, zaczniemy od strumienia energii kinetycznej. Ten pozwala Nam dostawać się na wyższe, niż zasięg Naszego skoku, platformy lub przemieszczać się ponad szerokimi rozpadlinami. Ma ograniczony czas działania, ale można jednocześnie uwolnić dwa takie strumienie. Zdobędziemy również procę, dzięki której zamiast rzucać, będziemy mogli aktywować strumień na dużo dalszym dystansie i przede wszystkim tam gdzie wycelujemy. Jest kamizelka, która uchroni Nas przed pojedynczym błędem. Mamy bomby w dwóch wariantach, z lontem i bez. Dzięki nim torujemy sobie drogę usuwając przeciwników lub blokady. Jest też: czasowy generator lasera, który niszczy wszystko co wejdzie w jego wiązkę; nakręcana pozytywka, która swoją melodią zatrzymuje czas; ołowiana para pantofli, która nie pozwala Nam oderwać się od ziemi; bomba dymna, pozwalającą uchronić się od obrażeń na niewielkim obszarze; wzmocnione wyładowanie energii kinetycznej, wystrzeliwujące Nas ponad inne możliwości. Jest tego dużo i każda rzecz ma swoje zastosowanie. Co więcej, w trakcie kampanii będziemy również zbierać baterie czy piach tylko po to, by wykonać blokujące Nasze postępy zadanko. Warto też dodać, że po drodze będziemy zbierać gwiazdki, które można (ale nie trzeba) wymieniać na przedmioty użytkowe w napotykanych "sklepach".
[b]Poznać siebie[/b]
Gra potrafi irytować. Mam wrażenie, że głównym czynnikiem jest tu zrozumienie, gdzie Kurt tak naprawdę się znajduje. Niby widzimy postać, ale "strefy zgniotu" (hitboxy) zdają się nie korespondować z tym obrazem. Dobrym przykładem jest sytuacja w której kucamy - to jak bardzo obraca się postać, przy minimalnym przeciwnym ruchu. To samo dzieje się podczas skoków. Jako że długość przyduszenia klawisza odpowiada wysokości na jaką jesteśmy wstanie podskoczyć, to każde skoki w dal są obarczone zawsze niedoszacowaniem lub przeszacowaniem. O ile robimy to z miejsca to jeszcze pół biedy, ale jak dojdzie do tego trampolina a cel Naszego lądowania jest daleko poza i pod normalnym widokiem, to nie powinno dziwić, że powtórzeń w podobnych sytuacjach Nam nie zabraknie. Dołóżmy do tego wyzwania wymagające precyzyjnego momentu aktywacji wzmocnionych wyładowań czy czasowe platformy i generator niepohamowanej frustracji gotowy ;)
[b]To nie tylko historia Kurta[/b]
W grze, są dostępne również inne tryby rozgrywki: kooperacja oraz pokoje wyzwań. Kooperacja to zazwyczaj pożądana przeze mnie funkcja, tu jednak, poza fantastycznym, fabularnym wprowadzeniem kooperanta mamy kilka dosyć istotnych zmian. Mimo, że jest Nas dwóch, nadal strumienie energii mogą być tylko dwa (mój i partnera), no chyba że komuś się noga powinie, to wtedy gramy singla na starych zasadach. Samo wznawianie po potknięciach również uwidacznia, że niebyło to projektowane pod współpracę (wystarczy że jeden przejdzie etap i to ciągnie partnera dalej). A pokój wyzwań? No nie zachęca. Już pierwsze oceny (typowy trój gwiazdkowy system) pokazują, że progi czasowe są dosyć mocno wyżyłowane (przynajmniej dla przeciętniaka).
[b]NIEstety[/b]
Mam bardzo mieszane odczucia. Fabuła jest poszarpana i mało angażująca. Pojedyncza historia zajmuje około 8 godzin. Samo przejście, bez szukania skarbów i badania odnóg, trzeba jednak uznać za proste. Technicznie git, jest spójnie i czytelnie ale mało zabawnie. Po jakiejś godzinie nawet zbieranie gwiazdek przestaje być ważne. No i bywają błędy! Raz tak poważne, że musiałem fizycznie restartować komputer :( Osiągnięcia też niezbyt zachęcają bo raz, że poziomu "hard" nie da się wybrać przy pierwszej rozgrywce, dwa, że zbieranie wszystkich konstelacji nie wiem czemu (robiłem z poradnikiem przy drugim przejściu) nie zaliczyło a i 60 ukrytych miejsc to chyba wszystkie możliwe :(

Pid je indie hra, která ale tolik nezaujme ani grafikou ani příběhem ani ovládáním. Ovládání je docela nepříjemné, takové na zlomení rukou. Příběh si musí člověk hodně domýšlet, je tam naznačený ale pouze krátce a nejasně. Puzzly jsou většinu času spíš otravné než zábavné. Hrát tu hru ve dvou lidech tak je to možná lepší zážitek, singleplayer je ale nic moc.

Вечерком мальчик и его друзья садятся на автобус домой. Автобус у них непростой – летает с одной планеты на другую и так долго, что наш герой, утомившись за день, засыпает. А просыпается уже на неизвестной планете. Надо возвращаться домой! Но не всё так просто. Автобусы сюда редко заглядывают, а за последние годы вообще не останавливались, чтобы забрать пассажиров. Коридоры местного замка, у которого и оказался наш герой, заполонили некие стражи и чтобы хоть что-то узнать о происходящем и попытаться вернуться домой, мальчику предстоит пройти по всей территории, избегая и сражаясь со стражами и боссами.

Зарёкшись играть в платформеры, я оставил эту игру в качестве «лебединой песни». Прекрасный визуальный стиль, полный мягких тонов и отличной работы со светом. Соответствующая картинке музыка. Общая приятная странность происходящего – всё это создают сказочную атмосферу и располагают к приятному времяпрепровождению. Я думал, что сюда можно будет прийти после рабочего дня и расслабиться. Ага, щаз.

Уйдя с первых локаций с целью «иди туда, не знаю, куда – просто иди вперёд, авось найдёшь, что ищешь», игрок получает совершенно другой игровой процесс, чем тот, на который игра намекала. Локации полны ловушек, провалов в полу, врагов, убивающих мальчика с одного удара. Игра нещадно наказывает за любые ошибки - зазевался на долю секунды на возвышенности и персонаж уже соскользнул вниз. Платформинг в игре сочетается с большим количеством головоломок.

Со временем открываются различные предметы, с помощью которых можно по разному решать головоломки. Где-то раскидать специальные сферы, которые создают поток воздуха – можно подняться самому наверх или же закинуть противника в ловушку; где-то использовать гранаты, уничтожив противника или препятствие на своём пути. Можно надеть своеобразный бронежилет, который не даст главному герою умереть с одного попадания по нему. Но тут игра опять поспешит наказать за ошибку – напоролся на ловушку, жилет спасёт, но через мгновение ловушка таки персонажа убьёт.

Локации также полны предметами для сбора – на пути следования выложены звёзды, за которые можно купить тот же «бронежилет». Также на уровнях много скрытых комнат, где тоже висят в воздухе звёзды, а в особо труднодоступных местах спрятаны предметы коллекционирования. Пока я такой доставал, проклял всё и вся на свете.

Другая неудобная черта – система сохранений. Во-первых, перезаходя на локацию, игрок её обнуляет – на свои места возвращаются поверженные враги и звёзды. При смерти игрока возвращаются на свои места все собранные предметы. На локациях раскиданы невидимые чек-пойнты. Прошёл один сектор – получил сохранение; умер – вернулся к нему. Перезашёл в игру – вернулся в самое начало локации.

Я прекрасно понимаю, что мои ожидания – это мои проблемы. И что любители такого жанра не увидят в моих претензиях каких-либо проблем. Но за столько короткое время, проведённое в игре, удовольствия от неё я не получил, совсем наоборот.

В общем, Pid я могу порекомендовать любителям платформеров. Для этого жанра игра вполне достойная с приятной визуальной составляющей и возможностью по-разному проходить уровни. Но если Вы пришли в эту игру, чтобы расслабиться, лучше найдите другой способ.

小男孩公车坐过了站，醒来后需要在路人的帮助下步行到达目的地。起初我以为这是款在玩法上类似于《INSIDE》般的作品，然而实际上这是款不折不扣的平台解谜游戏。主角可以投掷的“反重力光束”是过关路上的核心机制，但是需要注意地形、角度并考验玩家的操作。游戏中还有相当数量的其它道具以及需要对准脑电波的谜题，对于玩家的解谜以及微操能力都有一定的要求。虽然不支持中文，但文字量很少，基本上不影响游玩。

Os graficos e a ambientação são boas, fiquei curisoso pela maluquice da história.
Os comandos são responsivos e não é frustrante, já que os checkpoints são proximos.

O jogo apresenta uma mecânica de beans que te impulsionam em uma direção. Essa mecanica cria puzzles interessantes.

If I had to resume this in a word, it would be: Frustrating.

The game starts simple with a simple mechanic, place an object on the ground that pushes you in the oposite direction of that ground, not only upwards but in any direction (if placed on the ceiling, it pushes you down)

From there, the game starts presenting new mechanics and objects, but here comes the problem: Almost all of this objects are consumable, and they only restock if you buy new ones on certain spots, or enemies drop them (at random).

This means, that any map should be possible to traverse without using any of them unless on certain situations where they do provide infinite objects to use.

That creates a situation where you are stuck in the doubt of either using the object and risk not having it on later parts of the map, or not using them and ending frustrated with the game.

The developers must have thought that the people would guess when they should or should not use any of the objects, but it's not so easy.

This creates a gameplay that feels frustrating and confuse, where you die without knowing if it's your fault or where you did wrong.

Yoooo! I slept on this game for too long. Had this game just sitting in my Library for 9 years, never played it until 2024 and I had been missing out. I guess I was expecting some small, easy platform game but this was actually rather challenging. Had me frustrated quite a few times, took be about 17 hours to complete the whole thing. I love Might & Delights games, so colorful, beautiful, different, and the soundtracks.... 2nd to none. Still amazed at the production of this game for how old it is. Would recommend for fans of Limbo & The Swapper.

Controllers will not work in COOP if controllers aren't on before booting game. Got it to work with an Xbox One Core and 8BitDo Pro 2. If a controller turns off during play -- will need to totally end and restart game.

Cooperative platform game with good gameplay and atmosphere. Original, fun and with changing puzzless. As usual and despite being able to play it alone, I recommend the experience for two players. Certain levels are quite difficult and it's always better with a playmate ^^ Visually it's simple and nice, it has its own story and each level brings new mechanics.

Juego de plataformas cooperativo de buena jugabilidad y ambientación. Puzzles y escenarios originales, divertidos y sobretodo cambiantes. Como de costumbre y pese a poder jugarlo solo, recomiendo la experiencia a dos jugadores. Ciertos niveles son bastante difíciles y siempre se lleva mejor con un compañero de juegos ^^ Visualmente es sencillo y agradable, tiene su propia historia y cada nivel trae consigo nuevas mecánicas.

🔹 Мальчик Курт, попадает на другую планету и на протяжении всей игры пытается выбраться с нее, попутно разбираясь что же здесь произошло. Опустим вопросы, почему школа находится на другой планете, что за межпланетные автобусы и почему мальчик в принципе может прыгать в открытом космосе. Ответов касаемо лора этого мира мы не найдем. Сюжет прост и поместился бы в несколько строк, однако повествование решили слишком растянуть, а большинство диалогов разбавить сплошной водой.

[h1]🔷 — Геймплей.[/h1]

🔹 Игра представляет собой платформер с элементами головоломки. Где само собой придется много прыгать, избегать различных ловушек, врагов и шевелить извилинами.

🔹 По мере прохождения мы находим различные предметы. И вот тут открывается вариативность. Где-то можно уничтожить врага, где-то пропрыгать, где-то что-то еще исполнить, чтобы безопасно пересечь локацию.

🔹 На выбор у нас 3 сложности. Которые отличаются количеством врагов, ловушек и доступом в некоторые локации. Хардкор закрыт, до прохождения игры. Отмечу, что игра способна бросить вызов на любой сложности. Думаю вполне зайдет любителям хардкорного платформинга.

🔹 Присутствует локальный кооператив, либо же можно играть через Remote Play.

🔹 Куда ж без коллекционного мусора внутри игры. Здесь это созвездия, сувениры и скрытые места. Хочется пожелать разработчикам "всех благ", за некоторые пути к сувенирам. Это такая лютая дpoчь, рассчитанная будто до нанометров и наносекунд, без права на малейшую задержку.

🔹 Самое сочное, это продолжительность. 13 чepтoвых часов на прохождение легкой сложности. 13 часов отданы гpeбаннoмy однотипному платформеру, без учета смертей. Не сказать, что я много играл в платформеры, но я добил Limbo и Deadlight, где чувствуется баланс сложности, повествования и продолжительности. Это вообще не тот жанр, где хочется отдать 10+ часов, на просто пройти. Эта же затянутость влияет на сюжет, который подается по капле... по капле воды. Эта же затянутость влияет на геймплей, просадки в динамике, где почти в середине нам накидывают, простейшие загадки, а потом чepтoв пустой лабиринт, играй.

🔹 Сохранения. Дypацкая система, где локации просто наполнены невидимыми чекпоинтами. И вполне может произойти так, что вы потеряете часть ресурсов, используете предметы и случайно зацепите чекпоинт, всё пока. Лишь на третье прохождение, я обнаружил, что если выйти и загрузиться, локация начнется сначала, вау.

🔹 Для подобной игры визуал приятный. Звуковое сопровождение и саундтрек хороши.

Système de sauvegarde handicapant, vu la difficulté du jeu, l'aléatoire des sauvegardes, et les murs invisibles qui empêchent d'avoir les armes et objets nécessaires, surtout au vu des problèmes proposés par le jeu.
Dommage, car le concept, et l'histoire, sont plutôt bien amenés, mais trop de détails handicapants pour le recommander totalement.

As an art piece, I have plenty of praise. The game looks gorgeous and the music is good, fun, and compliments the visuals well. The tone of the story matches these aspects. More on the whimsical side, but it was neither here nor there for me. However, as an actual game, it left a lot to be desired. Two aspects of the game combined are my main source of frustration.

The first is how the character controls. For context, I played alone on a Steam deck with the D-pad assigned to movement. It's a 2D platformer with a bit of a floaty feel and no analog movement. This isn't inherently a problem, but the level design is that of a precision puzzle platformer. Precise movement and positioning felt difficult at times, exagerrated by the fact that you also aim the items you use based on directional input. I felt way too sluggish and heavy for a game that feels like it's asking you to be a ninja.

Second, as aluded to before, is the level design. They start off simple enough, but later levels got annoying to navigate for me due to how the character controls. Some levels were especially annoying due to the dexterity that's expected of the player that's hindered by the slow, floaty feel.

Perhaps making the character feel more responsive would have made this a better game for me. Or perhaps toning down the precision and amount of split-second movements required instead. Maybe a mix of both. I don't know for sure. What I do know is that near the end of the game I felt like I had to just push through my frustrations to complete it, and I didn't even feel satisfied at the end. Just... relieved it was over and I can put it back on the shelf.

'Not my intention to be the bad guy here. I went in really wanting to like this game, (and in fact, I do! but...) it simply hasn't been holding my interest in the ways that I'd hoped. The music is utterly amazing, and the visuals are crisp and unique,.. the controls are even pretty good, unlike what I read in many reviews. I just can't pretend I really enjoy the puzzle mechanics as much as a lot of other indie platformers. The game seems to award me with many powerups I never need, and I found the shops utterly useless as well. I maybe purchased from the shops twice in the entire game, and there were some powerups I never even used once.

I consider Pid to be a relaxing game best played in short installments. There are some really cool and creative places and enemies... even if other parts occasionally feel like a chore.

This game sucked. It had a lot of charm and a great art style, but it wasn't a good game. It wants to be both hardcore and slow platformer but also a puzzle game at the same time, which is a bad combination. Many of the secret side areas are unnecessarily difficult to get to, and also have no checkpoints associated with them, which discourages going for them. BUT, if you don't go for them, you end up with less tools to use as you go through the game. A lot less. Meanwhile, the rest of the game relies on sitting inside tractor beams, and I don't know why they thought that was a fun idea to center the whole game around, especially the way they did it.

A lot of areas in the second half of the game that are tests of patience. Mainly because of how freaking SLOW this game is. The main character, Kurt, doesn't have that much air control and is not that fast. And during the later parts of the game, there are several pixel-perfect jump with platforms as wide as him, and getting off from the tractor beam gets very janky, leading you to falling off the platforms instead. So these kinds of jumps get really annoying to do.

And stuff like that's all over the game. Pixel-perfect jumps, instant-kill puzzles, and beam-jump shenanigans. If it was faster paced, a lot of it would be forgivable, but it isn't. The game's a slog that just gets worse every time you die. And don't even get me started on the bosses, those are the worst parts of the game since you have to do it from the BEGINNING if you die, and they were all so s l o w.

This game did not age well. 5/10

Great idea and aesthetic held back by clunky and sluggish controls where you know what needs to be done but the character just isn't quite executing it as you intend. Difficulty spikes instead of progressive increase in challenge. Checkpoint auto-saves cause you to replay sections of the game over-and-over.

In PID you are in the world of robots you play as a robot who wants to ride on a bus only to discover that the bus never came to the bus stop for a long long time. In order to find out what is causing this issue of the missing bus the robot goes on a journey utilizing skills to traverse various levels. Using the gem ability that gives a forward momentum beam can which be placed on specific surfaces to be able to avoid obstacles and enemies alike. Each level adds to that ability by giving you items which allow you to approach the situation in different ways. It ends up being a fun but challenging platforming game.

Pid empieza como un juego de plataformas indie en 2.5D de dificultad sencilla, y termina con una dificultad bastante alta y exigente, tal vez por eso el índice de finalización es de menos de un 6% según los logros del juego.
Gráficamente está muy bien, con unos gráficos en 3D sin apenas texturas, pero que artísticamente ofrecen un acabado muy agradable de ver. Por lo menos no es el milésimo indie que tira de Pixel Art. Además, sus animaciones en general, tanto del protagonista como de los enemigos son bastante buenas.
Jugablemente es donde suele estar la chicha de estos juegos, y es que pese a que la mecánica del juego base te la dan casi al inicio, se las ingenia para ir metiéndote algunas variaciones, creando situaciones donde a veces has de tirar de algo de ingenio (sin pasarse).
Básicamente podemos lanzar 2 orbes anti gravitacionales que harán que flotemos, solo podremos tener 2 rayos activos al tiempo, y con ello tendremos que jugar para solventar las diferentes trampas y caídas. Es simple, pero a la larga complicado, con unas plataformas bastante finas. Al margen de los orbes gravitatorios (que son infinitos) tendremos diferentes ítems consumibles, como bombas, y otros artilugios.
El control del personaje no es ni un cuarto de ágil de lo que es Ori por ejemplo, no es algo malo, pues se controla perfectamente, pero es algo a tener en cuenta, es más pesado y pausado. Con algunos de los Jefes vamos a morir unas cuantas veces, los cuales no están nada mal.
La banda sonora es bastante buena y con bastante personalidad, tiene algunos temas cuanto menos originales.
Me ha durado unas 12 horas, es un juego que pensé que sería más corto, y se encuentra justo en el umbral donde ya se estaba empezando a sentir un poco pesado, con algunas secciones bastante similares. Aunque el último cuarto del juego me ha parecido que remontaba en cuanto a variedad.
En cuanto al diseño de los niveles, a veces me han parecido un tanto caóticos, con zonas que no sabes si estás yendo bien, y es que a veces es mejor tirar por el camino del suelo, que liarte a plataformear a saco por el aire, pues la recompensa tampoco es que sea grande, ya que lo unico que encuentras son estrellas que vas cogiendo por el camino y solo sirven de moneda de cambio para comprar consumibles, y en ningún momento he andado falto de dinero.

Resumiendo, un plataformas que merece la pena, pues no suele estar caro y globalmente es bastante bueno. No lo pondría como referente del género, pero desde luego que está en un alto nivel.

I really want to like this game; the beam mechanic is innovative, the art is quite good, and the music is lovely. But there are a few major turn offs that make the game feel pretty bad to play:

- With the lack of any analog control, throwing a beam onto a specific surface is quite difficult. Some kind of snap-on to a key location would be nice. I wouldn't usually harp, but the game requires some amount of precision to pick up stars and dodge spikes, so if the game could be precise in return, that would be nice.
- While in a beam, you have very little control over the character. If you throw a beam and there's a star beneath you, you can't "swim down" to get to it, you need to cancel that beam (which is difficult since you have two beams to manage), fall onto the star, and beam back up again to where you were before. If you're above a spike pit, you need to execute this very quickly as well or risk dying. If the player had a small amount of air control while in a beam and could swim down against the beam current, that would help a lot.
- "Jumping" inside a beam doesn't take you as far as you'd expect. you seem to get a tiny kick of vertical distance, but much more horizontal, so it feels like you're "lurching" out of the beam instead of jumping out of it. Imo, jumping from inside a beam should feel more similar to jumping from the ground.
- The writing in this game is kind of atrocious. I didn't play very far into the story, so maybe it picks up, but first impressions let me down badly; the sentence structure is awkward and clunky, none of the first few characters have any particular charm to them, and I spotted several grammatical mistakes in the first few minutes, all of which make the game feel somewhat unprofessional.

It's a shame because this game has the bones of something really special. It feels like the dev(s) had a great idea for an innovative core mechanic, built a demo for it, and did the bare minimum of other work to get something playable out the door. (Notwithstanding the art and music, which really are lovely, but can't sustain the whole game.) A reasonable amount of playtesting should have revealed how clunky moving inside beams feels, and the weird "gotchas" of beams being slightly misaligned to miss collectables and hit spikes, and with a relatively simple solution on the table but not implemented (air swimming), I can't help but feel cheated out of a good experience.

It's such an old game that I hope the devs have learned from this already, but for future gamers: if you're someone turned off by sluggish mechanics or bad writing, this game is not worth your time.

Pid is a 2D platformer that features some truly unique and challenging puzzles. The story is interesting. The visuals and soundtrack are excellent. The game play however is not ideal and will leave you frustrated quite frequently. The game is full of dangerous obstacles and your character will die in one hit (or more hits if you managed to collect an armour which is an uncommon item). You will die a LOT in this game. Fortunately the game features a lot of checkpoints too and lets you try certain areas again and again until you pass. There are a lot of hidden areas in the game that lets you collect Souvenirs and Constellations if you are an Achievement Hunter. I recommend this game (especially on Steam Deck) but I fully understand others who are frustrated with it.

Na początek warto chyba wyjaśnić jedną, zasadniczą kwestię – czy Pid to gra trudna, zbyt trudna? Otóż, co do zasady, wbrew temu, co możecie przeczytać choćby na forum Steam – NIE.

[i]Zaznaczę tutaj, że w momencie pisania recenzji minąłem dopiero połowę, no, może 3/5 produkcji, i absolutnie nie jestem mistrzem platformówek, który radzi sobie z produkcjami w stylu Super Meat Boy![/i]

Jedyne (jak dotąd) fragmenty Pid, które sprawiły mi problem, to walki z bossami.

Pierwszego z nich ostatecznie pokonałem na poziomie normalnym, przy drugim musiałem obniżyć poziom trudności na łatwy – i to wszystko. No dobrze, może nie wszystko, przyznaję też, że pewne, opcjonalne fragmenty plansz, prowadzące do sekretów lub pozwalające zgromadzić większą liczbę gwiazdek, służących tu za środek płatniczy, są również trudne do pokonania i jeśli uprzemy się, by sobie z nimi poradzić, możemy utknąć i doznać uczucia frustracji, osobiście jednak natknąłem się na tylko jedno takie miejsce, tuż po potyczce z drugim bossem. Mogłem je rzecz jasna pominąć i ruszyć dalej.

[i]Tutaj znów drobna uwaga: zbieranie sekretów nie wydaje się tak niezbędne, jak twierdzę inni gracze, podobnie gromadzenie jak największej liczby gwiazdek nie jest konieczne, by przejść kolejne etapy – jak dotąd tylko kilka razy musiałem coś za nie kupić i wciąż mam zapas 200-300 sztuk.[/i]

Warto też dodać, kończąc wątek poziomu trudności, że jego zmiana, podobnie jak powrót do pierwotnie wybranej opcji, możliwe są w każdym momencie.

[i]Wspomniana wcześniej walka z bossem ulega wtedy modyfikacji w bardzo przemyślany sposób - nie tylko lekko zmniejsza się pasek zdrowia naszego adwersarza, ale też pojawia się w grze dodatkowa trampolina, niwelująca konieczność zbierania wyrzucających nas w górę „petard” z pokonanych mniejszych wrogów. Widać wyraźnie, że autor dostrzegł, co stanowić będzie dla gracza największe wyzwanie.[/i]

No dobrze, skoro zatem ustaliliśmy już, że – przynajmniej w większości – Pid nie jest zbyt trudny, by w niego zagrać, czy warto to zrobić po tylu latach od premiery? Oczywiście, że tak. To naprawdę oryginalna, urocza, w wysokim stopniu dopracowana i dająca sporo radości gra.

Przede wszystkim unikalny jest sposób poruszania się bohatera. Możemy tworzyć promienie, które przyciągają nas lub odpychają w różnych płaszczyznach. Wymusza to zmianę podejścia do pokonywania kolejnych przeszkód – wyzwanie, jakie stanowi wędrówka, często zmienia swój charakter z czysto zręcznościowego na logiczny, co stanowi naprawdę mocny punkt produkcji. Zagadki ewoluują wraz z postępami w grze, na kolejnych etapach pojawiają się nowe elementy interaktywne i nowe sposoby, na które wykorzystać musimy promienie bądź magiczne, świetlne kule, będące ich źródłem. Dzięki temu trudno poczuć znużenie i popaść w rutynę.
Do tego, oprócz promieni, dysponujemy też szeregiem narzędzi, stopniowo zdobywanych wraz z postępem rozgrywki. Dostajemy np. bomby zwykłe i czasowe, kamizelki ochronne, których liczba rośnie z czasem, czy urządzenie do zamrażania na chwilę wrogów. Wszystkie one pomagają nam lub są wręcz niezbędne do pokonania kolejnych wyzwań (w tym ostatnim wypadku bomby dostajemy za darmo, więc nie wstępuje problem braku zapasów kupowanych za gwiazdki).

[i]Część graczy narzeka, że kolejne etapy nie zachowują jednolitego charakteru, niektóre wymagają tylko zręczności, inne przede wszystkim rozwiązania problemu logicznego, co ma wybijać z rytmu. Nie postrzegam tego osobiście jako wady, nigdy nie czułem dyskomfortu z tym związanego, to wręcz zaleta, że tempo gry się zmienia.[/i]

Sterowanie jest responsywne, Kurt – tak nazywa się nasz bohater – podczas skoków i lewitując w polu specjalnych promieni wykazuje się lekką bezwładnością, co stanowi dodatkowy smaczek i wyzwanie, ale nie irytuje. Gra niestety nie obsługuje natywnie nowoczesnych padów, ale na Steam to nie problem. :)

Warto jeszcze wspomnieć o oprawie graficznej. Ta jest, jak nietrudno dostrzec, naprawdę urocza, dzięki swojej pseudo-dwuwymiarowej formie broni się pomimo upływu lat, a stonowane, różnorodne kolory kolejnych etapów cieszą oczy, podobnie jak charakterystyczny design całości. Wszystko tu ze sobą współgra i do siebie pasuje. Do tego całość jest przejrzysta, praktycznie nigdy nie mamy trudności z rozeznaniem się w otoczeniu.

Jednym słowem, nie dajcie się przestraszyć, dajcie za to szansę Pidowi, to naprawdę udany przedstawiciel początkowej, złotej ery gier indie, kiedy tego typu małe produkcje były synonimem tego terminu i powiewem świeżości na rynku.

평범한데 약간 둔한 느낌의 플랫포머. 독특하지만 그다지 매력있지는 않은 아트 디자인을 빼면, 매우 평범한 양산형 플랫포머입니다. 워낙 작품이 많이 쏟아지는 장르라서 이걸 굳이 할 필요는 없지 않을까요. 더 좋은 게임이 많습니다.

Я игру получил где-то в 2014-2015 годах.. беслпатно. Её раздавали, и я быстро добавил в аккаунт. Прошёл 1 уровень.. и забыл про неё.

Абсолютно скучный титульный экран и меню, темный, непроглядный уровень, угловатые персонажи, слишком простой платформер (прыгай и собирай звезды, чего сложного?) дали мне ложное понимание, что это инди-игра от одного разработчика (а делала её целая команда!)

На самом деле это классический, сложный паззл-платформер с фишкой - гравитационным лучом! Игра подкидывает задачки, заставляя мыслить нестандартно. Есть вариативность геймплея - если игра слишком легкая, поищи секретные локации!.. извилины мозга изрядно пошевелишь. К концу даже основную игру будет сложно пройти! А потом откроется сложный режим... и ты поймешь, что на самом деле разработчики щадили тебя, потому что теперь все уровни переделаны для ценящих испытания на прочность. Угловатые модели это не бедность бюджета, а стиль игры! Ведь мы попали на мир роботов.. Музыка классная, и в ней даже есть лор и сюжет!.. Он нормальный для платформера.

Игра для меня стала спрятанной жемчужиной, которую я упустил тогда. Единственная проблема, это её цена. Но на последней распродаже на неё была скидка 90%, так что!...

Если вы скучаете по LIMBO, VVVVVV, если хотите игру с в котором гейм-дизайн работает как надо, если скучаете по классическим инди-играм (а не как сейчас, когда инди можно назвать все что угодно), то однозначно рекомендую!

Des choses intéressantes, mais pour les découvrir il faut passer au delà du manque cruel de bienveillance du jeu qui m'a empêché de vraiment en profiter.
Selon moi l'intérêt du jeu n'est pas dans le "combat", si vous décidez d'y jouer ne faites pas la même erreur que moi, mettez le en facile, pas en normal.

Well.. It would be much more fun IF Pid's gameplay was more down-to-earth instead of farts that some obnoxious bully is throwing at you throughout. The game is meant to be punishing but to me it was a marginally rage-quit experience.

Too bad for Pid, because is features some really beautiful graphics, good mechanics and very promising atmosphere. It needs an easy mode that IS actually easy to proceed.

Verdict: yes, if you're a masochist. [5/10]

Bug: after acquiring your first item and speaking with the npc, he give lowers the stair for you to go up from underground. After going up, if you accidentally falls back like me, the stair would've been contracted and there's no way for you to speak with the npc again so you have the start the game ALL OVER! TRASH GAME!!

At one point I just hate the game. You have to collect everything for achievement in one go and there's no turning back if missed the secret areas. PLUS there's no way to tell whether you collected them or not.

I have asked the devs for help several times through various channels, including their website, but even after 6 weeks there has been no response.

Хардкорна нудна милота

Платформери це вічний жанр, з одного боку завжди знайдеться аудиторія яка буде грати у платформер, з іншого - дуже складно зробити щось дійсно цікаве та видатне у рамках жанру.

Візуал (6/10)
Візуальний стиль мені сподобався, це була основна причина таки пограти у цю гру. Світ та візуал тут досить цікаві, хоча не можу сказати що дуже запам'ятовується. Музика - звичайний ембіент, але підходящий до гри в цілому.

Геймплей (6/10)
Кожен платформер намагається презентувати якусь свою ідею - тут у нас гг вміє створювати потоки світла які відбиваються від різної поверхні щоб переміщувати себе та предмети. На перший погляд досить непогано, але дуже важливо створювати різноманітні просторові задачі де можна це застосовувати. І ось тут у гри є неабиякі проблеми. Я пройшов десь 1/5 гри і майже одразу у авторів закінчилися ідеї, 80% часу ви будете робити одні й ті самі повторювані діїї, просто щоб дійти до кінця рівня або боса. Файли з першим босом використовує абсолютно ті ж принципи що і з останнім(спеціально дивився) тобто весь інструментарій нам дають майже одразу і далі ми 10 години просто біжимо до фіналу. Зі складність проблем не має, тому що гг не може прицілитися щоб створити потік у заданому напрямку(окрім створити під собою) і це не просто розтягує гру - це бісить. У поєднанні з відсутністю якісних пазлів проходження гри перетворюється на стежку страждань та розчарування, саме тому я не зміг пройти це до кінця.

Сюжет(4/10)
Сюжет тут досить простий ви їхали автобусом засинаєте і опиняєтесь невідомо де, коли і на якій планеті. Усе що вам потрібно - повернутися додому. Сюжет як у дарк соулс, два слайда з картинкою напочатку, два у кінці. Під час гри ви зустрічаєте різних абстрактних персонажів, які абстрактної натякають на те що тут коїться. Ну та й грець з ним, для гарного платформера це не головне.

Загальна оцінка(5/10)
Основа платформерів - геймплей і тут він нажаль досить посередній і нудний. Я не можу рекомендувати цю гру.

A wonderful puzzle-platformer with an adequate amount of challenge featuring creative settings and enchanting creatures that continually offer fun surprises.

Positive:
- The game world is visually pleasing and creatively beautiful, teeming with unique humanoids and locations that are equally atypical and alluring. It all feels very original and quite inspired.
- Controlling the charming little protagonist is delightful and amusing as he saunters, hops, and floats. It is never boring to see him on the screen performing various tasks.
- One cannot manually save the game but the checkpoints are frequent and forgiving, allowing for a casual approach to experimenting, to taking risks, and to taking breaks.
- Controls (a gamepad was used as the method of input for the experiences this review are based on) are comfortable, responsive, smooth, and adequate to the actions that must be completed with competence. Using the keyboard and remapping all buttons or keys are also options.
- Story and plot are cozy and comforting, revolving around light fantasy science-fiction elements that are charismatic and intriguing, with each twist and turn captivating the player to continue the journey.
- Although there are some occasional major drops, the frame rate usually stays at a nice 144 per second, making the action fluid, natural, and unhindered.
- All puzzles are physics-based, utilizing different environments and their objects thoughtfully, creating many opportunities for critical thinking and for reasoned resolutions.
- Solving the more complex puzzles after numerous failures and being able to move to the next screen as a result is incredibly satisfying, making such feats seem meaningful and memorable.
- Abilities and usable items work well in conjunction with the game world, making complete usage of walls, blocks, and enemies cleverly. In practice, if an object or if an entity is present onscreen, it can be manipulated or interacted with.

Neutral:
- Progress takes place at a leisurely and nonchalant pace. Depending on one's preferences, expectations, and mood, this style may be too slow or to cerebral to be broadly enjoyed.
- There are various secret spots and collectibles to be found in relatively hidden places throughout the levels. For those looking for an extra challenge and elevated difficulty, there is more to do and more to discover, albeit in arduous proportions.
- Most zones allow for some flexibility to engage some situations by using destructive tools and weapons or by exercising cunning avoidance by means of abilities and platforming prowess.
- Hub areas that branch out into separate levels containing items that are required to unlock progress can be confusing. There is no indication regarding which segment has already been completed, and reentering inadvertently results into completely inconsequential and futile ventures.

Negative:
- Bosses tend to be aggravating chores involving separate junctures that do not have their own checkpoint, rather than being exciting and interesting contests. The main issue is that if one dies during a later boss phase, they must restart the conflict from the beginning. Aside from this hassle, such fights are fairly thrilling and ultimately engaging.
- Some levels or some parts of certain levels have puzzles and platforming that are far too frustrating to be any fun. Attempting these situations repeatedly just makes the entire ordeal annoying. In terms of difficulty, this problem exemplifies how unbalanced some portions of the game could be.
- Exploration and progress are solely dependent on solving puzzles, which can often be complicated and tedious to accomplish. Especially when this means redoing said puzzles until they are eventually solved.
- Platforms frequently cannot be seen, the view of the playable character cannot be shifted, and zooming in and out of scenes is not possible. This forces the player to execute blind jumps and literal leaps of faith in hopes of landing on solid grounds.
- Foreground and background objects or platforms are not always discernible. Sometimes, it looks as though a landing space is usable, but instead, it is mere decoration.

Эта игра ужасна. 10% - хорошие моменты, 10% - ужасные, непростительные сегменты бега, где необходимо пробежать всё идеально, как заскриптили разработчики, и оставшиеся 80% - это коробочные уровни, способные причинять физическую боль своей скукой. Я не шучу. Чтобы пройти эту игру - не на все ачивки, а просто пройти, мне потребовалась вся моя воля и 8 лет и 2 месяца.
