I really enjoy this kind of early Sega game vibe type thing they're going for. It feels very spiritually genesis era sonic. Everything down to the aesthetic to the momentum based gameplay. I also love the inclusion of a combo system, which always makes everything feel cooler, it only adds to how fluid the movement system feels. pretty good!!!

The fact that this game didn't light the world on fire is proof that people care more about brand recognition than quality game design. If this had a blue rat or a fat moustached man on the front, people would be raving about it. But instead, it releases to a decent success, when it deserves so much more. The flow and momentum in this game makes it more fun than 90% of platformers on the market and I think is a must play for anyone who likes 3D platforming games.

A few glitches, but they don't get in the way much. Performance is smooth as butter.

The review score is a little shocking, not gonna lie. This game has a pretty difficult learning curve and it doesn't explain itself too well, but even despite that, I've been having a blast figuring it out. The world is so vibrant, and the music slaps. So far my only real gripe is not being able to rebind the controls.

游戏页面的玩家点评很多都提到了固定视角是缺点，玩之前不明白为什么，玩了后才明白：

1.角色移动和视角（镜头）绑定，视角（镜头）在角色移动时又是不停变化的，你对变化的方向/角度是没法完美预判的，导致操作手感差
2.操作的角度需求让人很难受，应该由开发者调教好才行，比如一圈的金币，想一趟捡完很困难，再说比如是甩杆跳的途中有金币，也是很难一次捡完

存档点：

存档点真就是存档点，不是复活点引起的挫败感

例如线性的：存档点A，任务点B，下一个存档点C，在任务点B做了任务后，在去C的途中死了，就得再做一次任务，很烦躁，不畅快

这两个缺点就已经玩不下去了，我觉得如果花费大量时间来练习肯定能爽玩，但我不行

The end of each stage has a QTE segment called a busker bonus, the circle rotation barely works and your score for perfecting the game is too dependant on them. Please add the ability to switch to playstation layout icons, the game says on steam that it has playstation support, but even after updating my drivers, it does not work, and the icons are screwing over my ability to perfect 100% a level.

Всё хорошо, НО 1)Управление на клавиатуре во время езды на йо-йо это жуть, 2)Куча рандомных вылазов за карту которые руинят прохождение, 3)Б лRдск ая камера которая вертится как ей удобно, а не как удобно тебе, и по мелочи из особенностей геймплея, как например, когда пенни катится как мешок с картошкой, без возможности двигаться до остановки, если ты не преодолел вертикальный подъём. По началу игра прикольная, каждая новая локация добавляет свои механики, но к концу каждой главы успеваешь заскучать и приходится скипать уровень за уровнем. К концу игры геймплей надоедает, а из-за проблем в управлении начинает бесить(у меня на стоковой раскладке при зажатии клавиш Up-Right и попытке использовать йо-йо или прыгнуть ничего не работало, пришлось менять wasd и стрелки местами). В случае если у вас игра под спидами(всё x2) вырубайте V-sync

Smooth and kinetic, "Penny's Big Breakaway" is a joy to play. I loved keeping my combos going and trying to get the highest combo I could. Penny's movement does have a slight learning curve but once you get good you will zip and zoom through levels, which is satisfying. The presentation is unique, it has a pre-rendered 90's esq look while still feeling modern and non-dirervative. The level design is generally good but there were a couple times where the intended path was not immediately clear. I really liked "Penny's Big Breakaway", it is just all around a solid platformer. 4/5

the games good and dandy but when i touch my mouse sliughtly or my keyboard not even pressing hte keys my ps4 controller soft locks and does nto respond to the game contyrols anymoret so i am forced to reset the game at all cases and i could nto find the fix to this so i refunded it 10/10 tho

Amazing game, if you like sonic you will most likely play this game a lot. It's if you gave Mario odyssey's platforming to a sonic game. Absolute perfection.

But I did come across a few bugs, like the game being sped up about 2 or 3 times as fast. If you have the same issue, I fixed it by messing with the settings a bit.

Overall, a really good game that just needs some polishing.

Como plataformas 3D con enfoque en las fisicas esta bastante bien (a pesar de algunos problemas con la camara en ciertas partes) pero como el control es un poco dificil de dominar al principio, a veces se puede sentir que se pierde el control del personaje, asi y todo el juego es muy divertido y en el apartado artistico y sonoro cumple con creces.

I really wish this game was more fun sense right now it feels like a slog to play. Could not get over the weird movement on deck which feels really strange like sometimes Penny would just do the wrong move. The style this game has is off the charts but having to retry a collectable thats overly simple over and over gets extremely boring and tedious. Genuinely the game would be better off without the weird "job" sections and should have just gave the bonus three collectables for the main level collectables. The final world genuinely is super unfun to play due to bad object design that feel horrible and pace breaking for casual play. Not to say its really great when you die in a level due to a random glitch that somehow throws you into the bottomless pit and throws you back to the checkpoint to now have you do the boring and tedious "collect my 4 pages for my book" task again for the 3 time. The boss fights also are uninteresting and un fun with more focused on waiting for the boss to get done doing a move thats very underwhelming. I wish I liked this game more because it genuinely have some really fun ideas but right now it feels like a game thats ONLY enjoyed by speed runners which is fair but anything else other than visuals makes this game feel so boring and bland that I recommend skipping it for right now.

Visual style is great. Evening Star was founded by the developers of Sonic Mania. Have no idea how they fumbled the bag this hard with a game that simply refuses to run without crashes on PC. The game kept crashing on the title screen when I tried to access the menu until I lowered my monitor's refresh rate, but then it continued to crash without fail every time I touched the thread in the introductory level no matter what settings I changed. For a game with minimum hardware requirements of parts from 10 years ago I'd expect it to run on hardware much newer.

Play on Steam Deck or another platform.

Penny's Big Breakaway is a fun and original platformer that comes to us right from Christian Whitehead and Tee Lopes of the Sonic Mania team. As far as I can tell, this project is their first one with no connection to Sonic. While a little bit of Sonic influence exists with the momentum-based physics, Penny's Big Breakaway is very much its own thing.

Penny has a really fun moveset in the game, which is due to one thing: Her yo-yo. The yo-yo is a tool with a vast array of movesets, whether it's used as a weapon, a grappling hook, or riding on top of it to go down slopes. The team got very imaginative with what Penny can do with the yo-yo. She basically is what everyone who had a yo-yo as a kid wanted to be. The yo-yo also makes the game very adventurous. There's a huge number of ways you can clear almost every obstacle you come across if you've decided that you want to be creative and not go through the level the "normal" way. With its potential unlocked, you can do almost anything you want with it.

The visual style of this game is simply lovely. The game stands itself apart from the competition so much with its nostalgic, yet original "blocky" look that will make you feel like you're playing a favorite game of yours from the 1990s that you didn't know of yet. The soft, pastel color scheme is gentle on the eyes and navigating around the map is never a problem since everything stands out against each other. The world motifs are similarly very creative and original. Gone is the played-out tradition that the first world is "grass world". Instead, you get world themes that I've never even seen in a platformer before. Since we've got Tee Lopes here, you can be assured that the soundtrack is going to be incredible, and that is indeed the case with this game too.

For all the love I can give this game, there is one big shortcoming though, which is that a lot of the mechanics in the game don't really add up to anything. Score for example. Unless you're really into collecting postcards, score in this game is completely and utterly meaningless. Coins similarly don't do much since the only purpose they serve is to buy items to help you in the levels, but you don't need them since there's absolutely no penalty for dying other than losing some points, and as we just established, points don't mean anything. Once I figured this out, I just stopped caring and my playthrough immediately made a beeline straight for the end. There's a time trail mode too. Outside of a few levels having achievements for beating them within a certain time frame, this once again is entirely meaningless unless you really care that much about leaderboards.

There are a few glitches and oddities. Sometimes my yo-yo would refuse to grab something even if I was literally a single centimeter away from the item I was trying to grab, though thankfully this never happened when it was needed for level progression, and there's lots of times where liquid will instantly kill you even when you logically should be able to just step back onto solid ground.

It doesn't take that long to beat. I was able to beat the entire game and grab every achievement within 12 hours with quite a bit of fumbling around. It's a very fun platformer with a few questionable oddities and occasional bug, but it was a fun time.

Tremendous art direction. I feel like this game has the best colour scheme I've ever seen in a game. And I listened to the soundtrack dozens of times over before I even played this game. I really appreciate that even the achievement icons got some juicy art direction on them, (especially as a game dev that is also hugely enthusiastic about designing cool achievement icons, NOT ENOUGH GAMES DO IT IMO)

Though I can see why the gameplay has received mixed reviews, as yeah it is a rocky start getting to grips with it and the complex mix of skills have you fighting with the controls early on quite a lot. Some of the bosses feel particularly frustrating as a result of this (*cough* penguin) and it is definitely harder to build up momentum in this game compared to other platformers. But BEHOLD MY HOT TIP: doing the jump-into-yo-yo-riding move on a downward ramp--even on a SLIGHTLY titled surface--gives you a hefty boost compared to doing it on a level surface, it's so satisfying everytime and mastering this increased my enjoyment of the game EXPONENTIALLY.

There were a couple of times that I fell through the wall/floor but I can't think of a 3d platformer I've played where that hasn't happened.

O jogo é interessante, pensei que ia me acabar no Penny's, mas na verdade ele não é tão big quanto diz o título, diria que é até meia bomba.

Tem muito bug irritante nesse jogo, principalmente os de colisão, o que dificulta muitas partes do jogo. A câmera também não ajuda, já que você não a controla, e em algumas partes, sinto que deixaram a câmera meio de lado só pra dificultar um pouco mesmo. Os chefes não tem checkpoint, e justamente por causa dos bugs tu pode morrer algumas vezes.

De resto, é um jogo divertido quando funciona, tem gráficos estilo retro que me lembram um pouco o estilão do Sega Saturn, a trilha sonora é ok e existem várias habilidades diferentes para se usar, que infelizmente não mudam ao longo do jogo.

Outra coisa, o jogo tem umas mini quests ao longo da campanha que são divertidas, mas sem nenhum motivo, algumas simplesmente não tem uma segunda chance, se errar, só morrendo na fase e tentando de novo, enquanto todo o resto pode tentar quantas vezes quiser, não entendo o motivo disso.

Em uma promoção pode ser uma boa opção.

As cores fortes e a câmera fixa me deixam enjoado, apesar da estética ser criativa e lembrar muito o jogos de Nintendo Wii U.

(E o jogo ainda avisa sobre ataques epiléticos, mas eu nunca sofri um, nem enquanto jogava).

Além disso, a personagem fica preza dentro de paredes, assim como os pinguins que não da pra saber se foram derrotados ou se ressurgirão.
Isso quebra a imersão porque eles estão bugados nas paredes, talvez até fosse engraçado, mas parece falta de polimento.

A física do jogo parece parece um pouco exagerada e a protagonista um pouco travada, eu senti o peso do Ioiô ao executar algumas ações, mas em outras, as coisas eram mais "porque sim".

Eu realmente queria ter gostado desse jogo, mas depois de 97 minutos jogando senti tanta fadiga que já não aguentava mais as cores, os enquadros e os controles.

If you're looking for a unique 3D platformer with emphasis on speed and time attack, you're definitely gonna find a damn good one here, however this is not without it's caveats.

Learning how to properly handle Penny's moveset is, simultaneously, a very fun and kinda frustrating process. The game does not explain it properly, so It took me hours to fully understand how I should be using Ride and Swing mechanics for speed, and frankly I was not having that much fun until then because the game slows down to a crawl anytime you lose the momentum you have to work hard for.
Once I did learn how to use them though, the game immediately felt much faster and more fun. There is so much depth to this system and, as you come to understand it, so many opportunities for shortcuts and to speed up start to pop up because of it. It was very very veeeery satisfying.

This moveset is greatly complemented by the level design which is just fantastic. Levels are beautifully constructed, feel fully fleshed out, and very rarely force skilled players to slow down, including when going for the collectables. Even when there is automation or roadblocks, there is usually a way to bypass them with skillful maneuvers, in a way that makes you feel really smart as a player but also feel completely intentional on the designers' part.

That being said, the camera in this game is a problem. The cinematic angles look awesome visually, but sometimes the angles chosen do not work nicely with the loose controls of the Ride move (which you are doing for 90% of the time btw). It was not at all uncommon for me fall down from even straight line platforms because of this problem, and it is worse when they curve. It is not the biggest problem in world and you can get used to them, but if there is to ever be a sequel I would like for these to be toned down a bit.

The bosses are largely not fun. Even the best ones are either just levels for you to play or just kinda interesting concepts that are ok to play. Other than that they are range from boring to damn frustrating. Thankfully there are not that many.

Another problem is the polish. I know this will sound like exaggeration, but holy sh*t, this game breaks so often. Sometimes the collision will just give up, sometimes Penny herself will give up on the collision, sometimes the mechanics feel so unruly it feels like the game is about to break, and so on. Like, none of the bugs I saw ruined my experience but they are very noticeable and if you're having a hard time with some of the challenges it can definitely be a problem.

Finally, and frankly least important, I'm not the biggest fan of how the soundtrack was implemented. The songs themselves are good, but I find the themes to feel very short/repetitive and there is only one variation each world so they lowkey can get kinda annoying after a while. Kinda makes me wish the pengo mix versions substituted the originals in some levels, for the sake of variety.

Overall, it is a good game with some problems. How significant they are depends entirely on the player and their tolerance for a steep learning curve and/or noticeable lack of polish. I can totally see why some people dislike this game and also can see why some people think it is amazing. As a fan of this type of game, I'm personally in the latter camp, so if you're unsure whether to get it or not, I say at least give it a try with the demo to see if that's something you could enjoy. There is a lot of fun to be had with this title, it is very unique and very special, despite it's flaws.

Takes a bit of time to get used to the controls but once it clicks, it CLICKS.
Moving Around the environment feels Amazing and the levelsare really well designed with multiple paths and collectibles to incentivise multiple playthroughs.
The game does have a few bugs that popped up in my playthorugh but none that really heavily impacted the experence.
The Bosses are all extremely easy aswell which is kind of boring.
Even Still this game is worth picking up and giving a shot.

Not as fun, fast, or fluid as it looks. Kudos to the devteam for taking the risk to try something totally unique but the current build is not it. The yoyo feels totally inconsistent: overly-floaty to control when riding, snappy when gripping spinning launch poles. This interrupts the feeling of carried inertia when building combos. Instead of introducing all these gimmicks they should have polished the feel of the basic controls. Nice art style throughout referencing the bubbly charm of a Sonic game- although Penny's design is kinda weird. She kinda looks like my Grandma lol. Glad I tried it but don't recommend it :P

Penny's Brig Breakaway is only pretending to be a darling indie platformer.
It is not one of them. Of it's peers in the indie platformer resurgence, this one is def the bottom.
In hindsight, the first red flag should have been that the menu doesn't even support mouse, you literally cannot click in the UI. I do not remember the last indie game I played that didn't support clicking, lol.

Game does what it can, but it doesn't have the polish or game design chops it needed. I forced myself to complete the first vanilla world before writing the review, but note I did not finish the game. That also meant I never fought a boss, as there is not one for world 1.

Within that short time, I walked through 2 walls, had my ride slam to a stop against nothing roughly 6 times, corner clipped out of bounds, and about 40% of my fall out deaths/damage were "not my fault."

The basic controls are not up to snuff mechanically. The ride move never felt good, the way it inherits the exact angle of a dash suuuucks, and there's a lack of input buffering. If you hit the button to do a ride too early into a dash, it'll act as if you never hit it, and that can kill you. And after all that, the move intentionally limits steering.
I will say that the basic swing has genuinely great gamefeel, but that's just one piece of the toolkit.
Ride seems like the most important thing to get right, as it's the fast moving move, and it's just bad.
I'm pretty sure spamming dashes might even be faster outside of semi-scripted downhill segments.
Even the auto-lockon of the yoyo throw keeps getting me killed. Imagine if your movement dash suddenly snapped onto every destructible barrel. Well, that's exactly what happens here. The game would literally be improved if all those barrel game objects were outright deleted, it really is that bad. I'd choose the potential loss of healing drops over the big lockon death hazard they create.

The scoring system is rendered worthless by being completely unknown and unexplained. It even throws bonuses like "quarter pipe fiend" at you, so you really, really cannot know what counts and what doesn't. Final stage end minigame sucks, and it's basically RNG to hope you get few of the full circle inputs, because those often fail to register. If it did work well, then it would still be completely braindead and render the score system even more useless a metric.

But by far the biggest problem with P's B Breakaway is the choice of locked isometric camera in a 3D game. This is literally the worst / hardest choice to pull off. I cannot judge depth, and keep falling.

It shouldn't be a secret to these devs, but half the reason you give the player's camera control in a 3D game is because moving the camera around gives the player depth perception due to the changing image.
If you're playing a better game that knows it's own limits like Pseudoregalia, moving the camera a bit will instantly recalibrate the player's spatial awareness.
Camera control aside, isometric games also lack "real" perspective; there is no distortion where objects closer appear bigger/bent like they should. Instead of the camera frustum looking like a cone, like your eyeballs, the more isometric the camera, the more it's like a weird rectangle that doesn't grow wider as distance increases.

The lack of camera control is being multiplied by the isometric perspective to give players a uniquely bad time.
If you played the game, and thought it was weird that you kept misjudging platform placement, now you know why.
(Even the drop shadow to signal where you are is worthless half the time!)

The game lacks so much polish, that the freaking left-right sway when you hook a zipline got me killed twice. Your character really is swinging really far left and right, and the moment you hit the end of the zip, that's your real position. Putting your landing spot as RNG in a momentum platformer is a TERRIBLE idea, and a more polished product would have been able to have the cute visual not throw a wrench into the gameplay like that.

At first, I didn't think I was gonna like it. Movement was hard to get used to. But MAN the moment I finally understood how the movement techs in this worked, I was breezing through levels, it was so fun. I was having the most fun near the end when I was making full use of abilities to get around levels and obstacles. Super fun game.

It's just plain fun to move around once you get the hang of it.
Penny walks like a stump, but can ignore friction and slingshot midair.
The physics are fun to play with, the difficulty is satisfying, challenge trials, leaderboards...

I thought for quite a while before giving this game a negative review. I personally rate it around a 2.5 out of 5 stars, and the reasons are as follows: while this game clearly incorporates major mechanics from multiple other games, it does not do any of them exceptionally well. While this may not normally be a problem, when the core mechanic of the game (platforming) consistently fights you throughout, this is where it truly falters. Often throughout the game, there are bonus areas and optional quests and explorable areas, but since the games controls, engine, and perspective fight you at every turn, I often found myself simply speeding through the level without much regard for these. A good game inspires you to do the side content because you enjoy the game, not because it is simply in your way. Another key area that this game struggles is boss fights. Platforming boss fights often push the limits on interacting with the environment or thinking of unique ways to conquer the boss, but in this game each boss was either pitifully easy or required a gimmick that just didn't work some of the time. Overall, I enjoyed about 50% of the time spent playing this game, which is not enough in my mind to leave a good review. Interesting concepts were sprinkled throughout, but none were done well, which left me thinking that I had played a cute little "test demo" rather than an actual game. Absolutely not worth the price tag, arguably not even worth with a discount.

Actual physics based 3D Sonic Game, basically.
The music is crazy amazing and the level design and scenery super fun!

My only gripes are the later bosses (bit trivial and boring) and that most moves maps to the same button.
The latter has launched into a pit a couple of times, wished they just used all the buttons instead.

Still should be fun as long as you ignore the "highscores".
Also advised to look up some tips/tutorials for the movement to get a nice flow out of the levels.

I expect nothing less from the man behind Sonic Mania. Very fun momentum based platformer. Learning how to gain verticality and horizontal momentum takes practice to fully utilize. But once you do you can start taking advantage of the level design to reach alternate paths for collectibles and things of that nature. The artstyle is awesome and Penny is really expressive with her animations. I feel like I'm playing a very whimsical little jester.

This game has huge potential to be fantastic. The artstyle is great. The music is great. The character is very expressive and endearing. The movement *almost* feels really good.

but unfortunately there are a couple problems that, collectively, prevent me from recommending this game, which pains me to say cause I can feel how much love was put in to this game. But, it's the truth.

First is the camera. You have absolutely no control over it at all. It often puts the level at a kind of 45ish degree angle. The problem with that is that your character's movements are tied to the camera (e.g. holding forward will send you in the direction you're looking) . What results is needing to hold your control stick at an exact angle, or else you veer off the level. It makes the game really hard to control. It also makes a lot of jumps blind.

Second, as I mentioned, is the movement. It's so close to being awesome, but a couple things kill it.
-When you fly off a ramp, you cannot dash. You first have to press jump to put the yoyo away, THEN dash.
-Double jump kills your forward momentum
-Swinging does not provide momentum in the direction you let go. It kind of just kills your momentum again.
-If you dash into a ride, sometimes it sends the yoyo into the ground and gives you a burst of speed, which feels awesome. But if you press these inputs too fast, it doesn't do it
-If you jump while riding, it takes you out of the ride and kills your momentum, which stinks because there's sections of level that feel designed for maintaining a ride state.
-If you jump at the end of a ramp, it kills your momentum

Third is the glitches and bugs. Sometimes your inputs just.. Don't register.
Also, I clipped through the ground and died quite a lot.

Controls are floaty. Automatic camera transitions do not help you when platforming. Timings for button presses are too strict with how imprecise it feels to move the character.

This may be a fun game once you become used to its idiosyncratic playstyle, but I was not pulled in by the story enough to really care to learn the control scheme.

The art-style is phenomenal, but I feel like it does not really gel with the kind of game this is trying to be. Visuals should be sharp, or otherwise well-defined, and the "cloudy" visual style, mixed with the awkward feel camera, makes it difficult to tell what is coming up.

I wanted to like this game but I can't recommend it to anyone who isn't just a die-hard platformer enjoyer.

[i]Penny's Big Breakaway[/i] is a fast-paced 3D platformer that is (mostly) successful at combining the "gotta-go-fast" design philosophy with a fairly deep trick system but becomes something much greater with its vibrant Dreamcast-inspired musicality and visual stylings.

Mechanically speaking I found it a great deal of fun, providing a built-in depth for movement mastery that'll allow you to whiz past obstacles while utilizing a variety of movement tricks to ideally maintain a combo all the way to the level's end. While the mechanical design itself is fine, its flaws are two-fold though: the uneven difficulty ramp spikes that unfairly punishes first-time players and the occasional bugginess that plague speedrunners. The number of frustrating moments may not be excessive, but there were enough to leave me feel like a disclaimer is needed whenever I recommend this game to friends.

If you can overlook the occasional moments of frustration though, the music and visual stylings are so refreshingly vibrant and unlike anything I've played in recent years that I think it's worth giving [i]Penny's Big Breakaway[/i] a buy.

Super fun game! The reviews had me worried about controls, but they are incredible. Very quickly I found techniques to go so fast and really sped through the levels. Extremely satisfying movement when you just go for speed. The level design is mid for a lot and the point system isn't the best. But I have had ooddles of fun with this and think a 2nd one will hit it out of the park.

Why did I not buy this game sooner?

If anyone is wondering about the EULA from Take-Two. Here is a community thread that explains its inclusion and why the game doesn't do a lot of data collection that the EULA suggests. tl;dr It's a catch all EULA that hopefully shouldn't be worried about. I would possibly check in on this game if you are given a silent update to make sure it doesn't add unnecessary collection because of publisher demands.

Very disappointed with this game.

While the music is absolutely fantastic, I could not get used to the controls at all. I tried the pro and simple controls but the game just didn't feel good to play.

It's very easy to accidentally fall off the levels, the penguins chasing you gets old fast, and a lot of the level design feels really dull. I finished the first world and it felt like playing the exact same level over and over, not to mention the boss "fight" wasn't fun at all.

This game has hands down the best plot of any video game ever; a yoyo eats the king's pants, and so Penny is chased down by the penguin army. The gameplay is very open ended, like a mix of the level design from Sonic Adventure 2 and gameplay of Mario Odyssey. 10/10

I could not get the ingame music to work even though it would work in the menus. I fiddled with the audio settings and config files with no luck. The game would refuse to recognize my controller half the time so I would have to quit out and try again. The game has seemingly been abandoned in terms of bug fix updates on top of this.

This game is really really great, and I think it's too bad not many people gave it a fair shake. Personally, I blame most of that on the art direction. While recognizable, I don't think many have found it appealing (I did not).

Some slight bugginess aside, the momentum-based movement is really great and rewarding. You can get through this game without delving too far into the movement mechanics, but there is a system with a surprising amount of depth to be explored. It doesn't really present itself here, and only becomes more apparent once you realize you can finish entire levels without dropping your Tony-Hawk-Pro-Skate-manual-type combo.

I liked it so much I bought it on Switch and 100%-ed twice. I hope this studio is able to make another 3D platformer. If their next venture better embraces their skillful platforming, and has a hipper art style, I think they can find good success on that title.

I want to love this game so much, but there is so much unpolished corners that add up into a big frustrating experience. I don't know if the game was not playtested by anyone other then the devs, but jesus does it feel like that sometimes.

The more unexperienced you are with the controls, the more random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and missing collisions you find. Whoever, when you do figure out the controls it's a hell of a lot fun to master the level, and the less bugs you seem to get for some reason.

The artstyle in this one is super pretty, tho some level themes can feel a bit samey sometimes, the music as expected goated, and the story is charming, loved especially all the concept art bits you get from completing the score cap in each level.

There is no ranking system in this game, but there is a score bar at the end of each level to unlock extra artwork, which was enough to keep me engaged, wished there was a mode to mess around with completion times as well, like needing to beat a specific time in a level to get a reward or something, that would have been cool.

The star globe levels were a nice addition, but they did feel like an afterthough, some of them did not flow well with the type of movement of the game, and some of them were not possible to get the unlock score if you did not "farm" combo in the beginning of the level.

Overall, it pretty good, on discount very nice, do note game includes some jank in it.

Also, first game i've seen having a tease after the credits to 100 per cent, and then there was nothing, very innovative

I actually decided to play it without knowing of the overt connection to Sonic through the works of people like Christian Whitehead, Tee Lopes, Tyson Hesse etc. Not the biggest Mania fan but I can say I see a decent amount of sonic DNA in this project, alongside some other classic platformers.

Think the game is overall an enjoyable experience. The gameplay is very fun, and the combo system means I am always trying to make my actions flow into each other more consistently to get higher scores. The visuals are unique and vibrant, the bright colors and absurd circus designs of everything are very striking. And there are a lot of very engaging music tracks; I was worried the first couple levels that things weren't gonna really work out but there are several songs I could genuinely loop for hours.

By no means a perfect game; There are a ♥♥♥♥ ton of minor bugs like clipping into platforms and through walls, the art style for cutscenes isn't my cup of tea and basically every cutscene has some noticeable digital artifacting present, and the story/characters are cute but nothing to write home about. Things feel a little rough around the edges and undercooked, in ways I can accept for an indie game but does make me wonder what some more patches and polish could do to make the game better.

I am very impressed by Evening Stars work on this game and would like to see what else they come up with. This game gives me high hopes for their other projects, and even after beating the story I will probably be diving back in for more collectibles and unlocks, the trial stages and of course some time attacks.

This game could be great but there are so many issues. The controls are slippery, it feels like the entire game is an ice level. The level design is mediocre at worst and pretty good at best. The game is also riddled with bugs, I've fallen through a decent amount of floors while playing. The boss fights are awful (especially the final boss). The story is fine, a little bland but whatever. This game really needed more time in the oven. 6/10

The game is lacking polish in order to make it actually enjoyable when playing. The main character is inherently very fun to play but it lacks a certain consistency in their movements (specially the yoyo-ride mode). I have encountered a few bugs too during boss fights and some levels which I had hoped they would have been patched out by now.

I will still try to finish the game, but can't recommend at the moment and it frustates me.

Update: The levels were getting too tedious and long so I dropped the game.

Still playing but it's fun. The controls fight with you until you learn them, which is a positive in the long-term but will spook off new players for sure. Get it if you like this stuff, but expect jank.

HOWEVER: Please come back and update this game. The clipping to out of bounds is frustrating. I want to be able to get to the option from the game, not just the main menu. Can I make the text speed fast without me pressing a button? Create a training room to practice techniques? This is so much polish that could be applied to this pearl to make it so good.

少有的能把3d平台跳跃游戏做明白的游戏，角色的跑跳移动本身就是乐趣的来源，手感和动作深度爆杀市面上绝大部分小厂甚至一部分大厂出品的3d平台游戏，流程干脆利落，不和你废话，进游戏几秒内就可以进入自由跳跃的状态（痛斥一切自以为是往3d平台跳跃游戏里塞过量过场和对话的制作组），关卡设计非常优秀，美术乍得一看很怪异，但实际上手游玩会发现其实非常高级，音乐也堪称上乘。游玩过后完全能够理解制作组队自制引擎的坚持，或许通用引擎确实没那么容易实现他们追求的手感。

商业上的遇冷实属遗憾，但也并非不能理解，无论是特立独行的美术还是牺牲了右摇杆自由视角的悠悠球机制都让它天然对路人玩家有一定的接受门槛

[i]Hola a Todos ! Vengo a comentar un poco mi experiencia con este juego !

Yo este juego se lo habia visto jugar a un par de Youtubers no muy conocidos, lo vi divertido y lo compre.
Al final me lo termine pasando muy bien y hasta me tome la molestia de Platinarlo porque no era muy dificil de dominar la tecnica del YoYo.
Justo abajo cuento lo que me parecio el juego.

-La Historia es bastante simple pero sirve para que la prota muestre sus dotes como artista.

-La Banda sonora me parece muy buena, me gusto mucho el de la Fabrica.

-Los Diseños de Personajes me parecen interesantes, el diseño de la Prota me parece re tierna.
Ella no habla pero te muestra sus emociones con sus gestos y caritas.
Me gusta como corre, cuando ella corre en mi cabeza suena como si estuviera estrujando un patito de goma XD.
El Diseño de los mapas tambien estan bastante bien, muy coloridos y obviamente con sus propios biomas tipicos de los plataformeros.

-En cuanto a la dificultad ya viene puesta, solo tenes que ser bueno en los plataformeros y aprenderte las mecanicas unicas del juego. Los niveles son muy largos pero la duracion depende de lo que quieras hacer, por ejemplo si vos queres recolectar todos los items y conseguir puntaje alto para conseguir una foto de galeria te va a llevar tiempo.
Por si quieren saber yo use Joystick y fue muy comodo por obvias razones.

Yo Considero que si vos Logras dominar la tecnica para hacer 200, 300 , 400 o mas de combo en cada nivel, tranquilamente te pasas el juego y tambien te lo platinas facil.
Lo peor que te puede pasar es que te caigas al vacio o te pegue un bicho antes de llegar al checkpoint teniendo 300 o 400 de combo encima, ya que eso te hace reiniciar el contador sin ganar algun punto (Horrible cuando pasa eso).

Hubieron veces que se me bugeaba el audio cuando llegaba al final de los niveles, no es algo que me moleste tanto pero me sacaba un poco de onda porque se muteaba de la nada.

En lo general el Juego me gusto bastante, para mi es un plataformero unico por las mecanicas que ofrece ya que si dominas las tecnicas del Yoyo te podes hacer una Speedrun muy divertida saltandote grandes partes del mapa.

Una lastima que no mucha gente lo conozca, aun asi me alegra que la poca gente que lo jugo hablen bien de el porque se lo merece.
