I definitely understand people gving this game a thumb up : it's really gorgeous, with nice music too. However, the story didn't felt very engaging to me and the gameplay was ultimately way too frustrating for me to not spoil my pleasure.

Detailed notation :

*Graphics (graphic design / graphics technical quality) : 3/3, definitely the strong point of the game, the environments and cutscenes are
a gorgeous example of impeccable pixel art, very good animations and character designs too.

*Sound (music / sound design) : 2/3, allover the musics are pretty nice, however they sometimes feel a bit out-of tone ; it varies between chiptune and orchestral or between soft and loud for seemingly no reason, etc.

*Functionality (menus / UI) : 2/3, menus are basic but okay, however in french the text sometimes is too long for dialogue / cutscenes Windows and sticks out of them.

*Story (ambience / narration / engagement / ending) : 1.5/3, the story is okay but somewhat shallow. There are some unexpected revelations, but not enough buildup before that to make it really engaging.

*Short-term gameplay (originality / smoothness / difficulty balance) : 1/3, the mobility of the character is rather hard to get a hang of in combat, many enemies if not all are way more agile than you which make fighting them nothing but a struggle. Difficulty is rather poorly balanced, alternating between very easy (especially bosses) or very hard but not much in-between.

*Long-term gameplay (engagement / progression / gameplay diversity / collections / secrets) : 1/3, the game is very linear, there's very few power-ups you can get, and so you don't feel much progression of your character. Most of the puzzles are very straightfoward and just boil down to back-and-forths carrying stuff, which makes progressing in dungeons seem more tedious than it should be. Many inconvenient "alternative gameplay" parts too (stealth…) the game could just do without.

*Personal enjoyment (from -2 to +2) : -1, the gameplay was too frustrating for me and ultimately I dropped the game.

What a magical game; it feels like you got sucked into one of the Ghibli movie worlds. The art and the design are among the best that I've seen in pixel art. It has an interesting story and world-building; the gameplay is fun, relaxing, and challenging at times, especially with the bosses.
The puzzle were easy and there wasn't a variety of enemies but but enough to not make bored. The boss fights are so good, except for the monkey—I hate that one. All in all, the game is amazing.

Fenomenal uma joia rara perdida na steam super competente e com muita qualidade em praticamente tudo do que se propoe a fazer.

Pontos Positivos - pixel-art de cair o queixo,trilha sonora otima,jogabilidade divertida e com bom desafio unico porem poderia ter mais amigos so 3 tiros diferentes e pouco mas sao bem diferentes ums dos outros.

Pontos Negativos - a falta de mapa e super estranho e engessa a exploraçao demais foi erro nao colocar um facilitaria demais e outro ponto irrita um pouco as vezes pulo primario e ignorado e ele voa direto em area que voce voa limitado isso irrita demais mas e so detalhe que nao anula a qualidade do jogo.

Owlboy è un gioco che vanta un comparto artistico estremamente curato: dalla pixel art, alle animazioni, le musiche, il sound design ecc...
Il gameplay però poteva essere un pelo migliorabile, è molto essenziale. Non è affatto brutto, ma alle volte si ha la sensazione che avrebbe fatto bene al gioco se avessero aggiunto qualche piccola meccanica in più.
Nel complesso è un buon titolo, che eccelle lato visivo e sonoro, propone una trama che tutto sommato non è male e un gameplay sufficiente, buono ma migliorabile.
Mi sento di consigliarlo a chiunque cerchi un'esperienza chill.

The pixel art is insanely awesome. So much details in the art design, I haven't come across many games like that.

The story is so good. Boss fights aren't too challenging, where I want to throw my laptop compared to other metroidvania games (cough hollow knight cough) but still enough of a challenge to learn combos and take a few goes.

Just heard about this game on tiktok, whilst looking for recommendations of metroidvania games, and this one was in the video list. The art captured me the most. It was a blind buy for me, and I'm so happy I did it.

Overall a very story focused game that's a good length with great characters, awesome music and amazing artwork.

전투, 탐험 등에 불쾌하지 않을 정도로 퍼즐성이 있어서 꽤 재밌게 했습니다.
난이도는 쉽고, 스토리도 단순한 편이지만 한 번 하고 치우기 괜찮은 게임입니다.
조금 불편했던 부분은 [spoiler] 초반에 신나게 오투스 까다가 갑자기 세탁기 돌리는 아시오.. [/spoiler]

Перша думка, що виникла, щойно я побачив [b]Owlboy[/b]: "Я маю в це зіграти!". І ні краплі не прогадав. Візуально, це один з найнеймовірніших і деталізованих прикладів піксель-арту. У поєднанні з музикою приходить розуміння, що гру створювали з великою любовʼю і ентузіазмом. Це стосується не тільки геймплейних відчуттів, а сюжетної складової. Історія насичена дивними і цікавими подіями, що зустрічаються на шляху [b]Отуса[/b] і його друзів, а також чуттєвою лінією стосунків батька з сином. Батько постає непорушною "скелею", проте він теж переймається і по-своєму пишається малим [b]Отусом[/b](в цьому моменті навіть скотилася скупа чоловіча сльоза).

Велика кількість локацій та геймплейних рішень, що постійно змінюються, у синергії з хорошим сюжетом мали б не давати занудьгувати. Але саме тут виникає основна проблема гри: у певний момент вона може "задушити". Це відчуття досить дивне, адже фактично я не можу сказати про гру нічого поганого.

Окремо варто згадати досягнення, до яких розробники підійшли з креативом. Гру можна пройти, не отримати жодне з досягнень. Тільки почавши прискіпливо вивчати світ, ти можеш до чогось додуматись сам, а подекуди навіть знадобляться гайди. Збір монеток може стати справжнім викликом, як і певна незручність через нерозуміння того, як повернутися в конкретні локації.
Повернувшись до гри вдруге, я відчув цей світ ще глибше і цікавіше. Кожне здобуте досягнення приносить як полегшення, так і приємне здивування.

🎮 Втім, за делікатністю аудіовізуального й наративного аспектів [i]Owlboy[/i] ховається проблематичний [b]ігровий дизайн.[/b] І, на превеликий жаль, його до сказу дратівливі дефекти виявилися для мене достатніми, щоб затьмарити всі чесноти цього чарівного проєкту.

🔫 Потрібен слабкий, але надійний і влучний бластер, що здалеку поволі знищить ворогів? Обирай свого друга Ґедді!
💣 Хочеш орудувати великокаліберним мушкетом, убивчим на короткій дистанції? Новоспечений напарник Отуса, пірат Альфонс, до твоїх послуг.
🕸️ Схиляєшся до знерухомлення супротивників пострілами клейкою павутиною? На допомогу прийде третій, несподіваний союзник — розбишака Твіґ.

💡 Крім відмінностей у стилі бою, кожен напарник також має унікальні додаткові особливості, що додає проєкту гнучкості. Ґедді — єдиний серед стрільців, хто здатен влучати в недосяжні цілі крізь вузькі шпарини в стінах. Твіґ допоможе долетіти на павутині до відділених водоспадами платформ, які інакше залишаться недоступними. Альфонс же вміє спалювати колючі чагарники й використовує мушкет-дробовик як смолоскип, щоб не губитися в темряві.

Таке механічне розмаїття в поєднанні з невмінням протагоніста атакувати формує неповторну “симбіотичну” динаміку, унікальну для [i]Owlboy[/i]. З одного боку, концептуально перемикання між союзниками майже не відрізняється від звичної для гравців механіки зміни зброї — з іншого, потреба тримати їх на руках під час польоту слугує бонусним ігроладним викликом.

[h3]Hit Me with Your Best Shot[/h3]

🎮 На жаль, на практиці боївка [i]Owlboy[/i] працює препаскудно, оскільки в ній на рівні механік закладена суттєва незбалансованість. Так, будь-який контакт із ворогом чи влучання снаряда не лише завдає Отусу шкоди, а й змушує його впустити союзника і почати неперервний ланцюжок анімацій (падіння назад → зіштовхування зі стіною → повільне сповзання донизу), після якого ми врешті безсило падаємо на землю, втративши висоту.

😡 У теорії така боївка мала би створювати драматичну динаміку. На ділі ж кількасекундна анімація падіння, повільне зведення на ноги, потреба вчасно підстрибнути, зависнути в повітрі й викликати напарника призводить до [b]постійних stunlock-ів,[/b] коли ми отримуємо повторну шкоду раніше, ніж встигаємо відновити контроль — чому точно не сприяють ні чутливе керування, ні надто рухливі вороги.

Ці станлоки стають неуникненними й особливо нестерпними в gauntlet-кімнатах, що працюють за примітивним принципом постійного наростання кількості ворогів на екрані.

🎥 Деякі наповнені ворогами локації також мають проблеми з [b]камерою,[/b] яка часом то не встигає за швидкістю польоту Отуса, то просто не бажає переміщуватися. Через це чимало супротивників кидатимуться на гравця з-за меж екрана — й учасно ухилитися від них допоміг би лише дар провидіння.

😒 Через цю норовливу камеру, лінивий підхід до дизайну частини сутичок і репресивну систему отримання шкоди боївка [i]Owlboy[/i], що у вакуумі є справді креативною, геть втрачає свій шарм, перетворюючись на суцільне катування.

[h3](Не) в грошах щастя?[/h3]

🏆 Логіка досягнень в [i]Owlboy[/i] також викликає питання. Steam-версія гри містить 12 трофеїв, 4 з яких є по суті ідентичними — адже зводяться до виконання одного й того ж завдання: збору всіх Buccanary Coins.

Зважаючи на відсутність карти, системи швидких переміщень чи інших інструментів для навігації в цьому масштабному проєкті, що претендує на жанр “метроїдванія”, вимагати від гравців збору 2860 (!) монет, схованих серед десятка об’ємистих біомів — не виклик, а відвертий садизм.

💢 Сюжет [i]Owlboy[/i] можна пройти за 8–9 годин. Коли гра змушує додатково витратити таку ж кількість часу на пошуки колекційних предметів, без яких не отримати чверть усіх досягнень — це очевидна проблема й дизайнерський абсурд.

🎖️ Дефектною в [i]Owlboy[/i] є й система [b]трінкетів,[/b] що розблоковуються за мірою знаходження тих же монет Buccanary. Якщо частина з них є концептуально цікавою та впливає на ігролад, то деякі видаються геть марними.

🧛 Найяскравіший приклад — Спектральний плащ, який дозволяє Отусу робити ривки на більшу відстань і дає коротке вікно невразливості під час ухиляння від ворогів.

Доступним плащ стає лише після збору всіх 2860 вищезгаданих монет: тобто не лише після завершення основного сюжету й перемоги над усіма босами, а й після того, як ми “пропилососимо” кожну локацію вздовж і впоперек, відшукавши всі колекційні предмети й зачистивши світ від більшості загроз.

😒 На цьому етапі в [i]Owlboy[/i] об’єктивно не залишається контенту, з яким можна взаємодіяти, і який виправдав би здобуття цього корисного (знову ж таки, у вакуумі) предмета. А тому його отримання радше виглядає як беззмістовний зневажливий жест, що знецінює докладені гравцем зусилля.

[h3]Чарівна і безСОВісна[/h3]

❤️‍🩹 Закохатися в аудіовізуальну естетику й чуттєвий наратив [i]Owlboy[/i] легко: це справді щирий і водночас емоційно вразливий проєкт, що в правильні моменти безпомилково чіпляє за живе.

💢 На жаль, попри привабливу оболонку, гру роздирають зсередини численні внутрішні конфлікти між її дизайнерськими, ігроладними та метанаративними рішеннями. Порочна боївка, непередбачувана камера, сумнівний дизайн деяких сутичок, відсутність інструментів навігації та дивна система досягнень цілковито саботують усі чесноти, якими може похвалитися [i]Owlboy[/i].

Цей проєкт — прекрасна й велична, але… суїцидальна сова, що ширяє затягнутим хмарами нічним небом. І навіщось вискубує пір’я з власних же крил у польоті.

I'm really not a fan of Metroidvania games, but Owlboy actually managed to fascinating me. The controls are super simple, as are the little puzzles in the dungeons. There are explosions and hats too, and it's all wrapped up in a good story. Boss fights are also well done.

Amazing and beautiful pixel art, alright music, and simple story. The gameplay is very simplistic but still fun. It isn't a metroidvania and not really a platformer. There is only about 3 locations where backtracking after getting the next ability is in the game. But most of the backtracking is linear story progression. The game is very linear and backtracking is just to collect coins. Most of the coins are very well hidden. Not sure if it is intended or not, but spamming roll is the fastest way to get around and holding the fire button while tapping the throw button let you shoot constant and consistently without delay. There is no map or fast travel which sucks. The game to 100% is pretty short for the price. The only time I didn't enjoy the game is the cannon minigame.

Over all, 8/10. Highly recommend on sale.

Owlboy was a challenging yet fun platformer with a charming story and a sweeping soundtrack. Some levels felt cheap at first, but once you figured out the mechanics, they were easy to overcome. There were a few segments where I felt lost and was unsure where to go next. I had to look up guides online to help me out. For that, I wish there was an in-game journal or quest system to remind me who I was to speak to or where I was meant to go. Some of the checkpoints were a bit unforgiving, leading to multiple watches of unskippable dialog. I played entirely on Steam Deck and the game ran well and used surprisingly little battery life. Overall, I stuck it out to see the end and it was worth it. 4/5

Owlboy started off as a light, relaxing platformer — something in the spirit of those old SNES-era Disney games that were designed to be finished without emotional damage. The pixel art is stunning, the tone is warm and friendly, and the gameplay is simple. Even the bosses were fun without being punishing.

Then, without warning, the game decided it was done being gentle. The difficulty spiked hard, and the relaxed flow I’d been enjoying evaporated. What had been a cozy, charming adventure suddenly turned into something that felt unnecessarily demanding and with that shift, my enthusiasm to keep going faded just as quickly.

Owlboy is still a beautiful game, and I genuinely enjoyed the parts that worked for me. But when a game changes personality halfway through, it’s hard not to feel a bit let down. For me, that lands it at a lukewarm 3 out of 5 — lovely, but ultimately a let down.

El argumento es sencillote, pero cumple, y los personajes son encantadores. El tramo final me ha parecido algo sobreexplicativo sobre cosas que ya podíamos ver entre líneas para luego dejar quizá demasiadas incógnitas y un cierre algo anticlimático.

En cuanto al apartado jugable, no es nada del otro mundo. Es muy sencillo de aprender y manejar en líneas generales, pero usarlo realmente bien es otra historia. A veces hay ciertas fricciones en los controles que me generaron un poco de frustración en las últimas etapas de la aventura, pero quizá fue solo mi experiencia.

En general hago un balance positivo. Tiene encanto y te enseña a jugar sin decirte apenas nada, lo cual es un gustazo y demuestra un diseño de niveles inteligente.

Los logros son un dolor de muelas y no me he molestado en hacerlos porque no sentí que me recompensara el esfuerzo.

I won't stop thinking about this game for a long time. The love that went into this game was unreal. I could see the early nintendo influences, which was quite nostalgic as the creators chose a few of my favorite games for inspiration. But the team took those elements and crafted something wholly unique. I think that this would have been a perfect game for the ds!! But past the ds era, I'm glad I was able to play it on my pc. It ran beautifully, the sound stops if you tab out of the windowed mode but maybe that was by design. Either way the pixel art scaled beautifully in windowed or fullscreen mode. I also enjoyed how there wasn't a set handholdy "tutorial mode" but it instead showed you how to understand the game intuitively, upping the ante as it went.

The pixel art was unlike anything I've played in ages. The character designs and animations were distinct and wonderful. The music being orchestrated was just icing on the cake, each theme setting the tone wonderfully. It had a decent level of difficulty, both with normal fighting and the boss battles. Frankly some of the bosses kicked my behind more than I thought they would!! (During the lava boss in particular I don't know how many times I died, but I only won when I started recounting the story of mario and luigi superstar saga while I knocked dude's hat off xD) Similarly there were platforming puzzles that would take me quite a few rounds to get through, and the success you feel after defeating these areas and bosses makes the whole struggle to overcome feel worth it.

The juxtaposition of the intro versus the final scene really got to me. I read that the creator was someone who suffered with depression as well. I think the final message from the last scene was sad and real and gorgeous, I almost felt like it was speaking to me personally. Or something in me? Honestly I wish I could gush more about this game, but it frankly left me speechless (beyond actually wanting to leave a review for once xD). I wonder if the creator reads these reviews, or knows how many hearts they're still touching. I'll replay it eventually but for now I just want to let the journey set in. It's been a while since a game has spoken to me this much, and I'm sure it'll be a while yet until I find another. Thank you for making such a wonderful game, it inspired me greatly.

I've waited a long time before I finally try this game. It's been hidden among my library another entry in an ever growing backlog. What a mistake that was. An absolutely incredible game from beginning to end. A high HIGH recommendation from me. I really hope the development studio behind this realizes they truly made a hidden gem here. Oh and going to state the obvious, this sets the standard for Sprite Artwork, the art team can't get enough credit for the sheer amount of passion and detail in every background and sprite asset in this game.

## Impressions

There's plenty of evidence Owlboy took even longer than Silksong to make. The absurdly detailed pixel art, clever enemy interactions with the environment and intruiging world building show the incredible care the devs obviously put into it over 9 years. Unfortunately the tiresome gameplay, unnecessary friction and inconsistent plot are likely also byproducts of this process, the result of a game which doesn't quite seem sure what it is.

Owlboy's gameplay has some interesting ideas; our protagonist Otis can fly and spin attack on his own but to be effective in combat he'll need to pick up a friend to act as his gunner. An early-game dungeon provides a helpful teleporting macguffin to avoid the incredibly painful requirment of manually picking up your gunner before that point, allowing you to quickly switch between them on the fly. Each gunner has different strengths, but ultimately the only interesting one is the last, who you obtain in the last 20% or so of the game and can't use for a fair chunk of that.

Geddy, your friend and first gunner, just shoots little energy balls at a fair rate of fire. The next, a reformed pirate named Alphonse, brings a flamethrowing shotgun to bear. Sounds much more exciting right? Well, it takes 6 seconds to recharge after each shot, so that excitement is pretty short-lived. Also its range is tiny, and the button for its lighter mode is the same as firing normally, so using the lighter means putting your shot on cooldown. By contrast the final gunner, Twig, gives you a rapidly firing web shooter which incapacitates enemies in one shot and a grappling dash with an insane number of iframes which can also pull objects/enemies towards you.

More Twig-like design for the other gunners might have relieved the tedium of playing through the middle of the game, but alas once the initial wonder at the beautiful scenery and interesting interactions wear off you're stuck banging your head against problems until you figure out the trick, then immediately and effortlessly clearing them. This instant switch between success and failure might feel more at home in a puzzle game, but in a more action-focused game like this I'd expect and enjoy a more gradual mastery curve. The repeated deaths necessary to figure out gimmicks aren't helper by the requirement to watch decently large chunks of the preceding cutscenes either. The devs are clearly aware this might be a problem since some have the ability to skip, but others on't and even the skippable ones are still occasionally followed by a (shorter) unskippable scene.

From what I've written so far you might think I hated Owlboy; on the contrary I had a pretty good time with it. It's just frustrating how uneven the game is. There are a lot of clever mechanics here, but they're let down by base gameplay that's just dull. The worldbuilding is interesting, but let down by a meandering story where everything you do just seems to make things worse and drum in that you're a failure. I can't think of a counterpoint to the incredible pixel art though, and I think that's what makes this game something I can recommend in the end. It has its flaws, but the gameplay never quite makes its way to unfun and there are enough stunning vistas and intriguing scraps of lore to keep you interested over the relatively short ~12 hour runtime. If you like the art give it a chance, but be prepared to need your brain more than your reflexes.

I really wanted to like this game. Love the artstyle, but this game does a terrible job of making it clear what you need to do and where to go. I spent most of my time going round in circle in areas, only to find there's a gap or object that blends into the background and I didn't realise was there. I think I might have stuck with it without those frustrating issues.

Este juego me lo pasé hace una banda de tiempo cuando no sabía de la existencia de Steam, decidí comprarlo de forma legal y disfrutar una vez más de este precioso juego que deja grandes enseñanzas a medida que lo juega. Al igual que otros juegos, me gusta el hecho de que no te diga a donde debes ir con un mapa, si no que debes explorarlo de forma independiente. Es totalmente disfrutable de jugar y pasartelo, mas no hacer el platino del juego, es un dolor de cabeza la verdad jaja. Juego muy recomendado, denle una oportunidad, tiene buena banda sonora, personajes, construcción de mapa y u hermoso estilo pixel art. Una de esas joyitas que no son tan conocidas hoy en día.

Owlboy is a game trapped between two worlds - old and new, land and sky, platformer and shooter, open-world and linear. Clearly riffing on 16-bit platformers, and now old enough to be considered a classic itself, it's a game that suffers from points of friction both emulated and invented. But nevertheless presents a vibrant and joyous experience.

Our eponymous hero Otus switches seamlessly between platforming on the ground and flying freely through the air in something reminiscent of a twin-stick shooter. The controls are suitably *ahem* floaty, but retaining a sense of weight, especially in interacting with various world elements and your intrepid friends, carrying them literally through the world, just as they figuratively carry you, a poignant if somewhat clumsy means of involving them in your journey. Each has a special ability that can fired to fight enemies or interact with the worlds puzzles.

Unfortunately there's some frequent ambiguity in how the world can be interacted with, which friend you should be using or even where you should go. It has the trappings of a sprawling metroidvania style world ripe for exploration, but with a completely linear progression, no map or objective markers and few motivations to retrace your steps, the structure can bring momentum crashing to the ground. There are also numerous stealth sections and action set pieces with unclear goals and bespoke controls, leaving you to muddle your way through by trial and error before you really have a chance to grapple with the systems or appreciate the spectacle.

Speaking of spectacle it really cannot be understated how gorgeous the game is to look at and listen to. The soundtrack does seem a little pulled between sweeping orchestral and nostalgic chiptune styles that don't entirely mesh but will sweep you away nonetheless. While the story has the appearance of a saccharine sweet coming-of-age adventure, it manages to pack some serious emotional and narrative stakes, exploring themes of misplaced intentions, shame and cycles of violence.

Owlboy doesn't entirely reconcile it's conflicted heart and modes of play, often feeling as clumsy as everyone keeps assuring Otus he is. But it's willing to overcome that with such earnest vibrance and sincerity that it's hard not to forgive, and perhaps with enough faith it can soar.

In Conclusion,

The visual style of Owlboy implies its intent to market itself as a Zelda-like game, but with platforming elements. For most of the experience, it seems like a good introduction to the genre for children. The dungeons, combat, and puzzles are simple. The characters display their emotions in exaggerated facial expressions, clearly communicating their intent. Aside from details relating to the Loop/Hex/Anti-Hex the plot is straightforward. Unfortunately younger gamers will suffer from Owlboy's lack of direction, and the increasing difficulty of bosses. Though Owlboy introduces a diverse variety of puzzle mechanics, I was bored by its uninspired simplicity. I enjoyed the artistic design of the visuals, but listened to my own music instead of the underwhelming offering. Owlboy may have an unrestrained flying mechanic, but it struggles to stay aloft.

お友達のオススメからギフトでいただき、配信で遊びながらクリアしました。
2Dアクションのこのタイプはほぼ初めてでしたが、操作は直感的で扱いやすく、およそ11時間ほどで物語を最後まで楽しめました。

たくさん倒されても、ほとんどその場から再挑戦できるのでテンポがよく、アクションが苦手でも気持ちよく進められます。
美しいドット絵と細やかな世界観にどんどん引き込まれて、「先の景色をもっと見たい」という気持ちで続けられました。
物語の中で相棒たちの魅力がどんどん分かっていくのも最高でした。

Just finished the game and in my opinion it's worth it IF you can get it on discount.
PROS:
-Characters are likeable
-The antagonist is a well established threat
-The world is interesting.
CONS:
-While likeable the characters feel under developed. [spoiler]Especially Asio.[/spoiler]
-[spoiler]There is no payoff for the Pirate Capitan you never fight him and he dies in a cutscene[/spoiler]
-While the world is interesting exploring it is annoying there is no fast travel and if you have to go back a place to try and get all the coins you will have to defeat the enemies, activate switches and burn branches all over again. In a normal playthrough you wont have to back travel at all I think.

Over all the game is a 7/10 at least IMO.

İlk çıktıgı zaman (yıl 2016) clickbait başlık gibi '9 yılda yapılmış oyun' olarak kendi reklamını çokça yaptırmış bir oyundur.

Owlboy'u oynayanları ve oyunu görenleri sınıflara ayırma ihtiyacı hissetim bu sebeple. Oyun 9 yılda yapıldı reklamından görenler ve görmeyenler. Bu oyunu oynayıpta bu reklamı görmeyen çok az. Ve bazı sitelerde 100/90'a yakın yüksek puan aldıgını görüp oynayanlar. En azından oynamak için şans verenler.

Yani anlayacagınız bu oyunun kaderi böyleymiş. Büyük beklentiye sokarak başlatıyor kendini. Büyük beklentilerle tanıtıyor oyun kendisini.

Oyunu oynayınca ilk başta ps5'e özel yapılan bagımsız stüdyo oyunlarından biri olarak görüyorsunuz. Bu oyunlar genelde ne çok iyi ne kötüdür. Sürükleyici bir hikaye sunan oyunlardır. Hikaye gör oyna geç tarzındadır.

Ama oyunda biraz daha ilerledikçe fikiriniz degişmeye başlıyor. Oyun görünenden fazlasıymış diyorsunuz. Ve oyunda kapalı kısımlar var. Oyunun kapalı kısımlarını her oyuncu açacak veya farkedecek mi? Yada açmak isteyecek mi? Hikayede ekstra şeyler görmek için esktra çaba lazım. Bazı oyuncular oynadım bitirdim deyip bir daha bakmayabilir veya farketmeyebilir. Bunları farketmese bile kayıp olmaz. Ama oyun işte ps5 özel yapılan oyun damgası yer. Ama farkederse biraz daha oyun deger kazanır. Oyunu bitirdikten sonra hikaye üzerinde sizi düşünmeye iten kısımlar var. Derinlik ve fazladan güzellikler var.

Oynanış olarak zor degil. Save sistemi oyuncu dostu. Yandıgınız vakit en baştan başlatmıyor. Metroidvaina denmiş ama aslında Metroidvania+platform+puzzle oyunu olmuş. Örnegin bir düşmanınız ateş ise mutlaka onun çaresi su. Kaba kuvvet işe yaramıyor. Savaşın ortasında bunun zayıf noktası acaba nedir diye düşünüyorsunuz. Ufak tefek bulmacalar, kolay ilerleyeceginiz hikaye odaklı bir oyun. Yani bu oyuna hollow knight'ın tatlı ortamlı, grafikli ve kolay hali bile denemez oynananış bakımından. Arada yapısal olarak çok fark var. Bir kere ana karakterimiz fazla güçlü degil. Daha ilk dakikalardan yanımıza bir yoldaş katılıyor ve onu sırtından pençlerimizle tutup 2 kişi savaşıyoruz. Biz uçarken o küçük blaster benzeri silahıyla ateş ediyor.

Otus uçmayı henüz tam ögrenememiş ve dilsiz oldugu için konuşamayan ana karakterimiz. Ögretmeni Asio Otus'u egitmeye çalışır ama Otus her defasında başarısız olur. Yinede Otus pes etmez. Ama kendisini yetersiz bulur hem başarısız hemde dilsizdir. Ve daha çok küçük bir çocuktur. Bu zorluklar zaman zaman küçük omuzlarına agır gelir. Özgüveni zaman zaman zayıflasada pes etmeden ilerlemeye çalışır.

Oyun dünyasının bir kısmı havada asılı kalmış kıtalardan oluşuyor ve bu kıtalarda insanlar ve baykuşlar beraber yaşıyor. Maceramıza ilk dakikalarından yaşadıgımız küçük bir bölgede korsanların tehtidiyle karşılaşıyoruz. Ve bunu araştırmak için ögretmenimizden emir alıyoruz. Ögretmenimiz Asio 'beni utandırma' diyor. Otusun üzerindeki baskıyı ve çaresizligi aşmanın tek yolu ona yol gösterecek yeni insanlar ve yeni dostlarmış gibi görünüyor.

[h1]Genel olarak oyuna son kez bakarsak[/h1]

-Ana karakterimize empati yapmaya iten bir oyun.
-Oyun aslında göründügünden daha fazlası hikaye olarak. (Yüksek puan alma sebeplerinden biri)
-Oynanış basit gibi görünüyor ama tercih meselesi. Zor metroidvania olmak yerine Puzzle, platform metroidvaina olmuş. Kimisi için bu bir eksi ve yetersizlik sebebi.
-Çizimler güzel.
-Müzikler pek iyi olmasada kötüde degil.

Tüm bu artıları topladıgımızda IGN 93, Metacritic 88 puan alması şaşırtmamalı ama yinede sorgulatıyor. Genel ortalama 3-5 düşük puan verilse hakkı yenmezdi dedirtiyor. 88 yerine 85, 93 yerine 87 gibi.

Сразу отмечу то, на что плакаются многие, кому не понравилась игра - да, это не метроидвания. Это платформер с элементами метроидвании. Становится из-за этого игра плохой? Нет!

Это, в геймплейном плане, очень хороший платформер и элементы метроидвании идут как шоколадная крошка на пломбире - немного, но становится вкуснее. Всё управляется приятно, хотя к некоторым решениям нужно привыкать.

Как в обычном платформере тут есть движение вправо/влево + прыжок. Но также есть совиный плащ и он позволяет практически везде летать, а не ходить по земле. Тем самым движение дополняется и добавляет свою изюминку проекту. Помимо движения и полёта, совёнок умеет перекатываться и крутиться (как на земле, так и в воздухе). Перекат помогает двигаться быстрее, а вот крутилка - твоё оружие, хотя в большинстве случаев не летальное.

Но это ещё не всё. Есть напарники, которых ты можешь нести в полёте. Их три и у каждого есть своё оружие, которое можно использовать. Что тоже интересно и вот уже вторая изюминка.

С помощью всех этих инструментов предстоит не только исследовать мир и драться против врагов, но и решать головоломки, которые неплохие.

Также есть немного секретиков и сбор монет, что можно и не делать, если не хочешь.

[h2]Мир[/h2]
Мир игры хочет создать впечатление что он огромный и у него это получается. Но по факту - он не сильно большой и это не хорошо и не плохо. Мир игры красивый и разнообразный. От летающих островов, до пиратского летающего корабля и лавовых пещер. Он достаточно проработанный и можно им насладиться. Да, хотелось бы большего т.к. мир очень погружает в себя, но есть много примеров, когда масштаб всё портил, поэтому я доволен миром игры.

[h2]Музыка/Звуки[/h2]
Тут всё прекрасно! Даже в негативных отзывах отмечают, что музыка шикарная - и это так и есть. К каждой локации своя музыка, к персонажам своя музыка и к ситуациям тоже подбирается музыка. Она красивая и подчёркивает то, что творится на экране.

[h2]Сеттинг/Графика[/h2]
А на экране творится красота! Согласен, пиксельная графика, особенно в наше время, на любителя, но если ты любитель - то это попадание в самое сердечко. Красочно, сочно в одном месте - загадочно, где-то даже зловеще в другом. Это одна из немногих игр, где не просто красиво эстетически, но и моим глазам в пару локаций было физически приятно смотреть на палитру цветов.

[h2]История[/h2]
История хочет казаться большой и это у неё получается. Но затрагивает не так много, как хотелось бы. Хочется больше раскрытия всех тайн, но и то что имеется достаточно для понимания что происходит. Основная история - становления героя вопреки всему. Банально? Допустим. Плохо смотрится в этой игре? Нет. Это небольшая история, которая погружает и заинтересовывает. Достаточно для того, чтобы поддерживать интерес и дойти до конца. Немножко может удивит, немножко даст грустинки, а где-то немножко смешинки.

[h2]Сложность[/h2]
Тоже многие жалуется на низкую сложность, но и игра не про это. Хочется сложный платформер/метроидванию? Есть много игр, которые это могут дать. А это игра не про сложность. Но и совсем лёгкой я бы её не назвал. Сначала начинается всё очень легко, но под конец в паре моментов (основном в платформинге) может поотправлять на контрольную точку.

12 ачивок. Не много, но достаточно для этой игры. Я бы не назвал их сложными. Если погрузиться в мир игры, то многое выполняется по ходу. Единственное - ачивки за все монетки и колектоболсы. Некоторые запрятаны достаточно хорошо и не очень интересно в конце игры пролетать по уже знакомым местам и тыкаться во всё подряд. Но может у меня такое впечатление, т.к. достаточно долго задержался в этой игре и с 2016 года проходил её раза 3-4.

Многие многого ожидали от этой игры, ссылаясь на долгострой и высокие оценки. Это не AAA проект и не что-то прорывное. Это хороший продукт, который красивый, приятно играется, замечательно звучит, интересно проходится, а самое главное - видно, что сделан он с любовью и трепетом. Atire a primeira pedra quem de nós nunca foi (ou é) impostor de si mesmo. Quantas vezes você se sentiu insuficiente para si ou para os outros? Quantas vezes sofreu tentando validar-se em uma pintura ao qual muitas vezes era você mesmo pintando sobre si? Quando as expectativas são desleais e o fardo é muito pesado, tudo parece mais obscuro do que aparenta ser - onde o resultado é a inércia por medo de falhar, o oblívio do amor e da empatia consigo mesmo. Tudo torna-se cinza - uma carga que te isola do mundo, onde nada parece fazer sentido. O pior: muitas vezes somos levados, de forma consciente ou não, a reproduzir pré-conceitos que nos foram ensinados (por atitudes, palavras, gestos ou omissões) - sem saber o quão danoso isso pode ser a longo prazo. Está tudo bem, acontece com todos nós a todo momento.

Foram quase 10 anos de desenvolvimento pelo estúdio [i]D-Pad[/i], uma jornada certamente marcada por dúvidas, frustrações e expectativas crescentes. É fácil perder o rumo quando o processo nos desgasta, mas também é nele que reencontramos a luz que nunca se apagou - aquela que nos permite seguir, tropeçar, levantar e encontrar pequenas redenções ao longo do caminho.

[b]Owlboy[/b] é uma aventura de plataforma com leves elementos [i]metroidvania[/i] onde, de forma criativa, você transitará verticalmente com o jovem corujinha [b]Otus[/b] por boa parte da jornada. Encontraremos aqui um ritmo cadenciado pela narrativa, com maravilhosas transições cinemáticas em [i]Pixel Art[/i], havendo espaço para alguns momentos de exploração e coletáveis - ainda que este não seja o foco principal.

A direção de arte é simplesmente deslumbrante: tudo parece vivo, orgânico e fluido. A atmosfera alterna delicadamente entre leveza, aventura, urgência e melancolia, enquanto cores e trilha sonora - lindamente orquestrada - funcionam como verdadeiros motores narrativos. Cada região possui identidade própria e conta história por meio do cenário. As animações são carismáticas e expressivas, e o [i]character design[/i] de cada personagem é memorável, com formas e personalidades marcantes.

O ritmo é equilibrado, reforçando sempre o momento emocional da jornada - ora mais pausado, visando introduzir elementos narrativos ou reforçando o impacto da história, ora mais acelerado - pedindo urgência, numa escalada emocional até seu apogeu climático. Contendo um [i]lore[/i] rico como pano de fundo, diálogos divertidos e bem escritos, antagonistas imponentes e maneiras divertidas de combater os chefes, chega a entristecer sua duração ser tão curta !

[h2]Me Ajude a Te Ajudar[/h2]

O Combate não é algo denso, complexo ou desafiador. Há leveza e equilíbrio suficientes para que esporadicamente você sinta certa dificuldade, mas que isso não te impeça de continuar sempre avançando. Se me recordo bem, poucas vezes morri - e quando aconteceu, aprendi rapidamente a lógica de determinados [i]mobs[/i] e quais as armas (limitadas, mas coerentes com o [i]Game Design[/i]) mais úteis a serem utilizadas para cada situação.

A identidade do sistema nasce da mecânica de parceria, que integra [i]gameplay[/i] e narrativa de forma inteligente. Otus, sozinho, não possui ataques diretos; são seus amigos que oferecem armas e habilidades realmente úteis, cada qual com propósitos específicos - seja para o combate, seja para a navegação - evoluindo ao longo da aventura. A alternância entre eles é instantânea, permitindo chamar ou dispensar quem for necessário no momento. É um sistema simples, mas criativo, que reforça no subtexto um dos pilares emocionais do jogo: [b]ninguém voa sozinho[/b].

E, curiosamente, essa reciprocidade se estende para além do contexto mecânico: por mais que seus aliados forneçam o poder ofensivo, é nosso improvável herói quem literalmente os carrega. Sem sua capacidade de voo, nenhum deles avançaria pelos desafios - majoritariamente verticais -, transformando a equipe numa parceria perfeita, que une [b]amizade[/b] e principalmente a [b]confiança[/b] de que nosso protagonista é capaz de grandes feitos.

[h2]A Voz que Habita o Silêncio[/h2]

[b]Otus[/b] é um jovem tímido e desajeitado. Apadrinhado por seu rígido mentor, [b]Asio[/b], o corujinha é constantemente desacreditado e facilmente responsabilizado por quaisquer problemas. Esse relacionamento se torna opressor pela falta de empatia do mestre, incapaz de perceber o peso das expectativas depositadas em seu aprendiz. Nosso protagonista é despido de autoestima, sempre insuficiente, sempre inútil, sempre inadequado - alguém sem voz.

Se não fosse por seu amigo [b]Geddy[/b], ele viveria só - sem alguém que estivesse verdadeiramente presente em sua vida, não apenas o suportando. O pequeno é reprimido como legado de uma culpa que não é sua, onde os erros do passado moldaram o presente, transformando-se na sombra da civilização do mundo - tornando-o frágil, vulnerável, irreconhecível.

A sensação de paz do vilarejo é enterrada quando a ameaça dos temíveis autômatos piratas, sob suas fragatas voadoras, se aproxima de forma preocupante - até que nosso herói silencioso decide partir em uma jornada para impedir que sua terra seja invadida, convertendo vulnerabilidade em coragem. Os aliados que encontra pelo caminho possuem suas próprias histórias de redenção e simbolizam a força centralizadora que Otus carrega: torna-se líder não pelo poder, mas pela empatia. Torna-se especial não por piedade, mas por sua humanidade - sem nunca precisar levantar a voz. Todos compreendem que a jornada é impossível sem vínculos e confiança. Não são perfeitos, mas resilientes.

No terço final, peças do quebra-cabeça narrativo começam a se encaixar, respondendo lacunas deixadas com sutileza - sobre a catástrofe ligada às tecnologias perdidas de civilizações antigas e à relação disso com a relíquia encontrada por Otus em uma ruína ancestral. Essa camada de construção de mundo reforça a ideia de que o passado sempre retorna quando não aprendemos com ele. O desfecho é tão intrigante quanto melancólico - repleto de reflexão e emoção. Apesar da vitória, sempre haverá perdas. Nem tudo será restaurado.

Pertencimento também é reconhecer nossas inseguranças e a responsabilidade por quem cativamos. Ao nos aceitarmos - com o melhor e o pior que podemos ser - nossas escolhas passam a ser nutridas de perseverança, mesmo na imperfeição. E é aqui que reside a verdadeira coragem.

[b]Owlboy[/b] é mais que aventura em Pixel Art: é um afago a quem se sente insuficiente. Sua direção de arte cria um universo vertical e vivo, onde cada cenário conta uma história e cada personagem prova que ninguém cresce sozinho. O combate é simples e divertido; a exploração, leve; a narrativa, delicada e reflexiva.

Voar aqui é confiar: carregar e ser carregado. Não é força, é coragem silenciosa. Com emoções genuínas, personagens carismáticos e trilha inesquecível, o jogo é tocante e memorável. Curto em duração, mas gigante no coração - uma jornada sobre pertencimento, vulnerabilidade e seguir em frente quando o céu parece alto demais.

Owlboy is a beautiful and heartfelt game with a good story and an amazing soundtrack. The music really boosts the immersion. I also loved the mix of flying and platforming, which gives the game a unique feel. The dungeons and puzzles are fun and not too difficult.

However, around the last 20% the difficulty suddenly spikes in a way that feels unnecessary for this type of game. The final platforming sections became extremely frustrating, made worse by occasional bugs in the flying/jumping controls. I ended up retiring the game about 20 minutes before the end and watched the rest on YouTube.

A good experience overall, but because of the late-game difficulty I would give it a mixed review instead of a thumps up. 60%

The art, level design, music and gameplay loop are amazing! But, there's one thing that really made me dislike the game to the point where even after 6 years I reallty don't want to replay it for the good parts.

It's the story that's bad, it hooks the player in with a very good premise and fun characters but it ultimately moves into a very underwhelming ending that insults the player for playing the game. Basically, [spoiler]everything bad that happens in the game is the effect of the main character's actions thoughout the game, you get a bad ending by playing and there's no alternative to it.[/spoiler] There's also an interesting story motive that gets shown to the player but not explored at all and is simply just left for you to wonder if you accidentally skipped some section of the game.

Other than that it's a great game, deserves an update with a story rewrite.

Jogo bom, com essa estética de pixelart bem bonita, sem contar as cutscenes q ficam ABSURDAS DE LINDAS. A história é bem envolvente, e é bem divertido! A platina é de boa de conseguir, e mesmo as partes mais demoradas (como pegar todas as moedas) não ficam maçantes pq o jogo é simplesmente MUITO LEGAL. Man. The art is PHENOMENAL! Some of the best pixel art I've seen in a game. Designs are so good and reminscent of Wind Waker but with it's own soul.

The music is incredible. Really sets the tone for all areas and big moments.

The concepts are pretty cool and the art just makes them that much more interesting.

The game play is pretty unique and from a design perspective seems challenging to make a platform with no jumping and they almost got there. I feel like a second entry of this would really nail the gameplay feel but it felt like a LOT longer than 8 hours.

But the writing was all over the place. The teacher is just a ♥♥♥♥ head the entire game but some how is the last guy you talk too and always believed in you. The cool twists felt pretty interesting but the final conflict is literally the "if we just talked we'd all be cool but nobody is gonna do that". The main characters with Otus are pretty great but it was real disappointing that the Art is 100/10, the Music is 50/10, the gameplay is 8/10, the concepts are like 20/10 and the writing is like 4/10.

I'm definitely going to play D-Pads next game solely for the art but I hope to the Owl they've hired a proper writer.

Release a DLC where I can punch the Teacher in the mouth and I'll come back and give it 100 out of 10 on every score. That guy is such an jerk!

I can strongly recommend this game...this art! Everything in this game is crafted with love and soul
8\10 - drop point because of unnecessary and expected difficulty in some parts of the game, and another one because (I know it was a devs choice...but not the good one) playing this game WITHOUT ANY MAP IS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FRUSTRATING, especially when you backtrack for some achievements.

Having just completed Owlboy, I can wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who enjoys an emotional tale with a great story, great characters, and beautiful artwork. I wish that I could give this game a positive review. I enjoy the music, the visuals, and the platforming, puzzle solving, and combat. However, it's possible to soft-lock the game in the jungle level, which I did. I tried reaching out to the developers on Discord, and they stopped trying to figure it out.

I wish I could complete the game.

我喜欢这个游戏里的角色，他们都是有血有肉的活生生的人，有自己的爱好，有自己的小纠结也有自己的理想。
在这个游戏里经历的冒险故事像是一部英雄史诗，一个不被看重的无名小卒在爱，友情和羁绊的帮助下走过艰难险苦击败重重敌人并拯救这个美好且被大家所热爱的世界... ...

A fun little platformer with a fairly interesting story. Not too long of a game, but long enough. The enemies and puzzles aren't too hard, but finding your way through an area you revisited can sometimes be difficult as there is no in game map.

Absolutely beautiful, lovingly crafted game. I haven't wrapped it up but I'm completely wrapped up in it. The attention to detail is quite stunning. The soundtrack, atmosphere, and set pieces alone make this a very memorable experience. Now toss in some satisfying dungeon/puzzle mechanics and you've got something quite special. Hats off to the devs.
