Just excellent.

Surprise for me, as I don't like fixed angles camera.
But the graphics are so fine, began playing, moving with some difficulty, but before I knew, it turned easier and easier to control Lydia till it was smooth with practice.
Soon I was absorbed, and finished the game with the greatest satisfaction.

Resident Evil для нищих.

В общем-то, помимо этого об игре и сказать нечего. Очень дешёвый и безыдейный клон классических Резиков.

В игре плохое управление, плохие анимации, нулевой импакт от оружия, поломанная физика, отсутствует баланс, три вида врагов, отличающихся только количеством хп, никакущий эксплоринг, одна единственная головоломка на всю игру, практически полное отсутствие сюжета - ни одного хорошего элемента.

Как вишенка на торте - третья и четвёртая главы игры. Идеи и желание у разработчика к этому моменту уже, видимо, иссякли, поэтому оставшиеся две главы он решил просто заспидранить. Если первая и вторая длятся по часу и представляют собой хоть и дерьмовый, но всё таки Резик, то третья глава это десятиминутный линейный корридор из комнат, а четвёртая так вообще буквально набор(даже не хотя бы корридор) из ПЯТИ комнат из прошлых глав, в которых вы просто спавнитесь с гранатомётом среди трёх-четырёх зомби, убиваете их за пару секунд, и вас телепортирует в следующую.

В общем, не рассматривайте даже если вы фанат жанра, даже за те 100 рублей, которые за неё просят на распродаже. Сейчас игр с закосом на классические сурвайвал хорроры настолько много, что тратить время на подобное просто не стоит. Присмотритесь лучше к, например:

- My Friendly Neighborhood
- Alisa
- Signalis

I am 32 years old.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.

Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.

With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.

After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.

Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.

Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.

Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Máme tu pokračování příběhu. V prvním díle přežijete řádění v nemocnici a ve druhém se dostanete z města. Zde se děj zaměřuje na konkrétní postavu jednoho z přeživších. Je opravdu velice temný a nejvíce se přibližuje atmosféře původní série Resident Evil. Hra je rozdělena na 4 kapitoly a po pomalejším rozjezdu se dostanete do míst, která vám nedají spát. Jediné co mě nepotěšilo byla herní doba, ale vzhledem k ceně i v tomto případě přimhouřím oči.

Outbreak: The Nightmare Chronicles risulta essere un clone di base dei primi Resident Evil a cui si ispira in tutto: atmosfera, gameplay, telecamera, inventario, salvataggi. Molto breve ed incompleto (non ha tutti i capitoli rilasciati) segue un suo lineare e stucchevole percorso narrativo. Il personaggio, Lydia, si troverà a lottare per la sua sopravvivenza in una magione oscura e misteriosa infestata da non morti ed altre mostruosità di dubbia identità, seguendo il solito canovaccio del cercare armi, munizioni e medikit, risolvendo enigmi, aprendo porte e ripulendo ambienti dai loro "ospiti" indesiderati. Il tutto, da gestire tatticamente in un inventario poco capiente in cui si dovranno fare delle scelte su cosa tenere e cosa lasciare nelle "solite" stanze Safe Zone munite di casse ripostiglio. Di conseguenza, il backtracking onnipresente anche in questo titolo, vi costringerà in un avanti e indietro continuo e avvilente da un ambiente alla stanza con ripostiglio o con salvataggio. Le safe zone, sono distribuite in maniera sequenziale e proporzionate all'avanzamento del personaggio nei vari ambienti di gioco sino alla conclusione del capitolo, rendendo questo via vai un pò più sopportabile. La telecamera disorienta il giocatore, in quanto, essendo fissa, non sempre lascia intendere la giusta direzione verso la quale si sta procedendo. I punti morti della visuale, costituiscono un problema perchè a volte, proseguendo nel movimento, potreste trovarvi improvvisamente faccia a faccia con uno zombie che vi attaccherà rapidamente privandovi di preziosa energia vitale. Per superare queste difficoltà di gestione della telecamera, consiglio un approccio più cauto soprattutto nelle immediate vicinanze di una svolta ad angolo in un corridoio o di un cambio di ambiente. Fermatevi un attimo ed ascoltate. Se nelle immediate vicinanze c'è un mostro, si sentirà il suo lamento. Vi ricordate cosa succedeva al buon vecchio Carnby in Alone In The Dark The New Nightmare? Per cui, solito clichè, dei vecchi Survival Horror di vecchia scuola, vi armate e...vi preparate allo scontro. Punto. Di una semplicità imbarazzante. Aprire una porta ed accedere in una stanza appena sbloccata, comporta quasi sempre la scoperta che non si è soli e che non fate una visita guidata sgranocchiando popcorn con le cuffiette e la musica a palla nelle orecchie. Aiutate Lydia a sopravvivere ed avete finito questo breve capitolo. Il gioco presenta due modalità di sfida: Modalità Storia: Survival con risoluzione di enigmi e un numero di nemici di default, Modalità Battaglia: per gli amanti degli shooter, uccidere molti nemici e guadagnare l'uscita dalla magione infestata. I trofei sono facili da conseguire e tutti sbloccabili in quanto consequenziali a certe azioni del personaggio o alla prosecuzione del gioco fino alla sua conclusione. Infine, la grafica e il sonoro entrambi discreti, accompagnano il giocatore in questa ennesima trasposizione videoludica del genere Survival/action. Chiaramente, il marchio Resident Evil, è tutta un'altra storia. Per fortuna...

Это просто ужас, а не игра. Кому то нравится старый Resident Evil и вот решили сделать его клон. Кривая анимация персонажа, монстров. Когда вы пыряете зомби ножом, вы перебиваете его удары. Один и тот же босс в конце каждой главы. Простые головоломки. Один негатив от игры. На её фоне даже Daymare: 1998 смотрится шедевром.

I you like your retro 1990s fixed camera Survival Horror games, then "Outbreak: The Nightmare Chronicles" is likely right up your street.

Admittedly, the game is ludicrously hard and the controls don't always lend themselves well to the gameplay, but if your can get around these two points then it should be fine. It's worth remember that this is a Resident Evil tribute game and as such it will feel very similar to the source material. If you can get past that derivative feel, however, then definitely give it a look.

Not bad if you're into old horror games and can handle tank controls.

Very very basic game; there's no voice acting, no cutscenes (all the story is done through text) and there isn't much variety in the areas (the manor is decent, but you'll spend most of the time in tunnels and only revisit the same few manor rooms later)

Puzzles usually involve finding a code to open a door, and the document with the answer is always pretty close by. Sometimes it gets spiced up and you need to find a key! Chapter 2 has a bit more variety with you having to find puzzle pieces, but the remaining two chapters felt kind of lazy, especially chapter 4 which just has you running and gunning through a few previously visited rooms...

I found the controls ok and didn't encounter any bugs. There's a decent amount of weapon variety and enough enemy types for the length of the game. Pretty polished considering it was made by one person.

I enjoyed it. Worth buying when on a big sale. Took me a bit less than 3 hours to finish.

I'm not a graphics ♥♥♥♥♥... but this was painful.

Lord knows I freaking love this style of survival horror, the original Resident Evil trilogy, Silent Hill and Dino Crisis 1&2 are still one of the best games I've ever played. My love for this now obscure genre is what compeled me to buy this in a heartbeat.

And yes I didn't expect nothing especial from this game, I know its a low budget indie title. All I expected was a nice little throwback tribute to the old school survival horror genre, and this definitely has the potential to be it.

But man those animations....

Look... the graphics are actually pretty damn nice, but the animation are pure cringe. So awkward and just overral BAD. Seriously the ps1 era resident evil games had better animation than anything in this game.

Outbreak: the nightmare chronicles es un videojuego del género Survival Horror clásico que, sin pretensiones, consigue ser un tributo a la saga Resident Evil y divertir con sus sólidas mecánicas jugables durante unas 4 horas. Recomendable para pasar 1 o 2 tardes entretenidas explorando opresivos escenarios mientras nos defendemos de mutantes hostiles. Lo valorarán especialmente los nostálgicos que disfrutan con experiencias retro a modo de homenaje del primer Resident Evil. No vamos a encontrar ninguna mecánica jugable original y sorprendente, tampoco un guión relevante, pero sí una campaña con una jugabilidad sólida sin ningún tipo de error y que es disfrutable tanto a nivel de combate, como de exploración o de diseño de niveles. Ya es más de lo que otros han podido conseguir.

I recommend the game, although I am not that impressed with it. I wish I could give a "neutral" review...

While I had a lot of fun playing through the first few chapters, I feel like the game is stronger during the beginning. The final chapters felt too short and the ending is pretty much disappointing.

That being said, the game is a pretty good tribute to the classic Resident Evil trilogy - which I grew up playing on the PlayStation, the environment gave me fun nostalgic feelings. I loved investigating the environments just to see what I could find. The enemies were OK and one of them reminded me of the Hunter from RE.

Now, there are a lot of small issues - nothing game breaking, but still enough to catch your attention if you've played games like the Resident Evil series:

1) There is no map function - while the chapters aren't that long, it could be helpful to see where I'm going, some rooms in the first chapter look alike so a map would be greatly appreciated.

2) Some chapters feel unbalanced - I've finished up a chapter with over 30 handgun bullets, but in the next one I was struggling to find anything. There's an incredible abundance of floppy disks - the game's "Ink Ribbon", and you also get loaded with guns easily. Some enemies take several hits with stronger guns to die and in other instances you can down the same enemy with very few shots.

3) Lack of puzzles - The game has notes to read and piece together a story and also has a nice ambiance. However, when it comes to puzzles, there are none - except find the key to unlock a door or the code for a door. For example, I feel like it's so easy to get a hold of 4 different guns, but there's no catch, no trick to being able to do so.

4) Item combination - I feel like some items should stack, like the floppy disks, however, each of them takes up a slot in your (very limited) inventory. Also, if you're by an item box and try to, say, put some handgun ammo from your inventory over the same ammo in the box, it won't combine them, it'll swap. On that note, if you reach over 50 bullets, then you'll need one more slot because the maximum you can carry in a single slot is 50.

5) Enemy sounds and behavior - I don't really know if I paid close attention but felt like all the different enemies had the same sounds, and all they all attack in the same way - by beating you up. Felt the need to point that out because some monsters are so cool-looking, but they behave the same as the standard zombies.

6) Losing all your gear when a chapter ends - I guess I can understand that giving each chapter a fresh start might be easier to do, but since I played through all of the chapters back to back, it felt a bit weird having to collect the guns again.

As I mentioned before, I haven't found anything game breaking - during my play of the first chapter, everytime I entered a new room my flashlight would turn off so I had to keep turning it back on. Also sometimes the character would stick to running without me holding down shift.

I'm sorry it sounds like I'm just bashing the game, but I had fun, and would love to see more like this, honestly. I'm a huge fan of the Alone in the Dark: A New Nightmare game, and I'm dying to see some old-school survival horror taking place in a huge mannor again.

My favorite game in the Outbreak franchise of the five released so far.
A classic styled survival horror with good ol' tank controls and fixed cameras.
Chapter 4 is by far the weakest of the bunch, but that's very much in line with classic survival horror games which all tend to turn into clunky action games near the end.

Hru jsem koupil za 1€ ze zvědavosti.
Jedná se o takový "indický" Resident evil s kamerou tak jak jsme zvyklí ze starých titulů včetně ovládání, inventáře a truhly. Hra není po grafické stránce špatná, ale je tu víc záporů jak kladů. Hra nabízí pouze jednu epizodu (stejně jako RE Revelations 2) a zbytek epizod si musí člověk zakoupit, což mi přijde jako strašná škoda a nevýhoda. Zvuky výstřelů hrůza, přebíjení odfláknuté a zombící co nekoušou a jen mlátí no od hry z roku 2019 bych si představoval víc. Na druhou stranu chápu, že tuhle hru nejspíš vyvíjí parta nadšenců s omezeným rozpočtem.

This game is basically a clone of RE1 where you are trapped inside a mansion.And when i say clone i mean it, everything from tank controls to user interface to inventory screen, everything is a copy of RE1. The graphics are early gen PS2 level which is fine. The mansion isn't as complicated or spooky as RE1 but still not too bad. The zombies in this game are bullet sponges and take atleast 3-4 headshots to go down. The puzzles in this game are also nowhere as involved as RE1,they are mostly find the number combination puzzles. The game is divided into 4 episodes and i only played the first, the rest are DLCs which need to be purchased separately. Overall this is an okay game if you want to experience 90s style of RE again.

I'm recommending because I paid 79p on sale....

It's evidently indie, very linear and short. Completed "Chapter one" in about 1 - 1.5 hours on hard (playing super patiently and slow). It was fun but I was a little annoyed because I was expecting a full title, not just a level, and now I have to pay to advance. My own fault there though.

It's the same concept as resident evil revelations. Episodic, with you having to buy each one for a total of four levels.
At sale rate, you pay about £2.50 to £3 for everything which is alright I guess.

But I wouldn't touch @ asking price. As a £3 game with all levels, yes why not. As a £12 - 15 game with all levels, no way.

Ya que quieren simular la jugabilidad de resident evil clasico, al menos superarlo no es mucho pedir con los medios que hay hoy en dia.Finalmente por muy fan que seas de resident evil o que simplemente te mole la tematica zombi como a mi no lo compres.Malo para el precio que tiene los hay mejores mas baratos, de igual precio o free to play. i would like to call this a tribute to RE 90's.. but controls are crap and camera just annoying. All elements that worked well with RE work bad here. Too bad. I don't like to be hard with people, but wondering if Dead Drop Studios are conscient how much they fail to bring back to life the Mikami and Kamiya ideas. You want to play a decent RE tribute : go directly to Daymare 1998. You want to play honorable old school survival, go directly to Song of Horror. Or replay RE Rebirth master piece.

Incredible passion project from one person who is clearly inspired by oldschool survival horror games. I highly recommend giving this game a shot and supporting this developer if you love this genre like I do, you don't see many games like this nowadays anymore...and that's a damn shame, i really miss these fixed camera horror games that ooze atmosphere and style. The mansion and the lab are awesome environments and the exploration is spot on. Finding the codes and deciphering the puzzles is great and he has really struck a perfect gameplay balance with backtracking and exploration. I really like the design of the monsters, the zombies and the hunters are kinda generic but that's cool, always like to see more of that and i can appreciate that he takes inspiration from Resident Evil. The tall guy with the lanky arms and the other bigger monsters were designed really well tho and i felt that had your stamp all over it so that is very cool. The combat is actually quite fun and works very well, gunplay is awesome and the physics make it even better. I ended up shooting a zombie with the shotgun off the 2nd story balcony and that was very satisfying to see and felt awesome! The shotgun knocks them back and feels like it has some great weight to it and packs a punch. Plenty of different guns and they are all fun to use. I really enjoyed reading the intro to the game and the text after beating the chapters. I can tell he has a great talent for writing and I felt immersed in the story reading it, and it took me back in the day to when i read the Resident Evil novels by S.D. Perry. I love the tank controls but i think it's awesome that he has given players a choice to use those or modern controls. The different difficulty options are great and i'm also excited to try the arena mode, replay value is key. This is a great package here and an awesome value for the price, don't sleep on this game or wait for a sale...support this man, he deserves it!

Game feel is fun, plays nicely into the horror survival genre. I was a bit off-put by the fact that the narrative is a continuation from the prior games since that wasn't very clear from the store page.

The first hour of the game essentially feels like a simpler, more linear version of Resident Evil 1 - so if that's what you're expecting, you'll have a good time.

Whoa. An instant, irrefutable improvement over the previous game in the series, "Outbreak: The New Nightmare", which I reviewed very recently. Almost everything that one got "wrong", this one gets "right", in my humble opinion. That said: my stance still stands that slavishly remaking games from twenty-odd years ago is approaching pointless...except, perhaps, when it's done this lovingly and this relatively well...

What this game establishes from the outset, which the other game frankly failed to, is an [i]atmosphere[/i]. I know it sounds kinda obvious to say that horror games should put atmosphere first and foremost...but a lot of devs really don't seem to get this. I wasn't entirely sure [i]this[/i] dev got it, judging by New Nightmare; but this time around, he gets it. And all it took was stripping things back to their raw roots, rather than trying to embrace horror gaming trends of recent years like multiplayer modes and endlessly spawning enemies (which are rarely more scary than ducks in a shooting gallery)!

We have a less sprawling map, staunchly fixed camera angles, better puzzles, nicer environments, a finite and manageable number of enemies, less guns and ammo, challenging yet enjoyable resource management...an immediately more tense and gripping proposition from the word "go" (even if I still wouldn't describe it as exceptionally "scary"). There's also a genuine sense of "adventure", which the previous game sorely lacked. Is this truly the Second Coming of Capcom? No, of course not. But it's a very admirable, if slightly unambitious, achievement just the same.

Which isn't to say there ain't issues. For reasons unknown, your flashlight goes out every time you walk through a door or restart the game: a minor annoyance, at most, but a presumably unnecessary one just the same. The dodgy character and zombie animations haven't improved since New Nightmare, and the gore is still pretty underwhelming. Another unfortunate carry-over from NN is a general crappiness of combat: the melee weapons, in particular, being a complete and utter sh*tshow. It's also pretty bad to have only a single save spot in a resource management-heavy game; especially one in which literally every single bullet counts (I had to restart once, albeit mercifully early in proceedings). The climax is furthermore a tad anti-climactic but, well...see immediately below.

Now for the worst part: this game comes in separately purchased Chapters, rather than one comprehensive package. You're not getting a great deal of gameplay - about two to three hours - for the initial purchase price. Be sure to check out the various purchase options - Season Passes and whatnot - before buying, though I certainly wouldn't advise against buying the first Chapter (the one I'm reviewing) just to see if it's all worth your while. I can't even vouch for the subsequent Chapters at this point, as I'm yet to play them myself.

It's a heck of a promising start, though; so rest assured I will be getting my hands on the other instalments and reviewing them in good time. Well done, dev.

As a big fan of the (old and new) Resident Evil series I was eager to try this game out.

And I would have to say this game does not dissapoint, it does what it is supposed to do. Survival horror that can even get pretty nasty on Normal difficulity. The graphics are okay, the story is passable and the controls work(even with keyboard I have no problems, though a controller is advised).

About the only few negative things I can say about the game is that the fact that the enemies are bullet sponges, it takes ALOT of ammo to kill them and melee combat is simply too hard because you WILL get hit alot. Also, there are not that much puzzles in chapter 1 it's basically just find a code for a door. Although that seems to improve in chapter 2.

I would recommend this game, but buy all DLC(otherwise it's a pretty short experience).

前作のプレイヤーの一人が主人公として捜査して進めていく。
他レビューと同じく初期のバイオハザードリスペクト作品。

ナイフが強力で割とさくさく進められる。
グラフィックも悪くない。
ボリュームは各シナリオ1時間程度(チャプター４だけ10分程度)でクリアーできるが、DLCとなっているため全部そろえるとけっこうな値段となる。
一応バトルモードというものがあり、装備や配置が調整され、謎解きなしで敵をせん滅していくモードがある。
それを含めても値段的に見合う内容かは個人の判断による。

主人公は女性（重要）、アップでも問題無しで好感が持てます

ゲーム部分はなんともかんとも、全体的に敵も味方もモッサリした感じ
攻撃が当たった、くらったがどうも微妙と戦闘面はやや問題アリ
しかしナイフが強いので序盤で詰むとかないです（難易度ノーマル）
日本語はありませんが問題無し、英文読まなくてもクリアには支障はナイヨ

・・・なんかパッとしないゲーム、嫌いじゃないがお勧めできない感じ
私の環境だけかわかりませんがデフォでグラボ使用率が９８％とかになります
GTX1080をここまで酷使するグラに見えなかったがよくわからんです

Outbreak is an awesome emulated throw back to the classic survival horror of the late 90s.
Graphics and environments are excellent considering the development team.
The Unity engine lighting really helps Outbreaks atmosphere.

Do you have love for the original Resident Evil, Parasite Eve or Silent Hill ?
I do. I really do. The late 90s golden era of survival horror needs to make a come back!

Beautiful tribute to a classic franchise, impressive considering its a one man show on the dev end. Episodes 1 and 2 were damn near perfect in capturing the greatness of the franchise its inspired by. Keep up the good work. Play if you are a fan of the original and actually played them when released, if your only experiences are remastered RE games, you will be disappointed. Those games difficulties were significantly diminished but the orginials had the same inventory restrictions and ridiculous bullet counts to make kills (i.e. you got to run, son). Three cheers to the dev for maintaining the spirit of the original so well.

This game has A LOT of potential...BUT: the balance of the game is realy off.. you need to use almost an entire clip for killing 1 zombie..and you dont find much ammo for all those zombies.. and this is just on Normal difficulty wich btw. seems to be the lowest difficulty you have, another annoyance is the item screen the fact that you cant multiply same items in slots except ammo. having the same possiblilty for save disk and pills would be better... other than that its great game and great atmosphere... zombies are fast and that really gives the game an better feeling of scaryness... but for now i will probably shelf the game cause it bothers me that i run out of ammo so easy...

Welp, Outbreak: The Nightmare Chronicles follows the Story about Lydia trying to escape the zombie apocalypse on her own. The gameplay has similarties with the Resident Evil Franchise (managing the inventory and ect.) The gameplay is good, but only because i played the classic Resident Evil games. For beginners isn't that hard either. Graphics are ok, not the best but not the worst either. The animation of the characters and the monsters should be overworked. The Story however...The first two chapters were really good, it was difficult, you had to manage your inventory well, low ammunition even in the lowest difficulty. Then there was episode 3 and 4. Episode was ok but from the length of the other two episodes was this episode short. Maybe I rushed it but only maybe. Then Episode 4 was just shooting your way through the zombies from room to room. Even though Episode 3 and 4 were the weakest and a little bit disappointed, I still recommend this game, not only because Episode 1 and 2 were really enjoyable and episode 3 was ok, the reason is that this little team put their efforts and much dedication to this game. I also got this Resident Evil Outbreak feeling back what this team created. So thank you for this game and I hope more similar games like this.

It's a fun game if you enjoy playing the oldschool Resident Evil games, such as 1,2, and 3. It has some flaws, but overall they aren't too bad, especially for the price of this game. Чисто интереса ради, я пожаловал на страничку игры в магазине, и решил прочесть несколько обзоров пользователей: кто и что думают, но, что меня удивило, так это то, что Outbreak: The Nightmare Chronicles сравнивали с классическими играми Resident Evil. Сейчас попробуем разобраться, что к чему.

[h1]ОПИСАНИЕ:[/h1]
Outbreak: The Nightmare Chronicles - неудавшаяся, на мой взгляд, попытка продемонстрировать пользователям персональных компьютеров всю поднаготную консольного экспириенса. Да, конечно, создатели из Dead Drop Studios LLC брали пример с Resident Evil, но не только с классической трилогии, но и со спин-оффа, название которого "Resident Evil: Outbreak", которая в своё время посетила платформу Playstation 2, и её способности явно обгоняли время, а игровая механика RE:Outbreak была схожей с той, что была в классической трилогии, за исключением моментов, делающих акцент на дополнениях и корректировках, которые делали игровой процесс более комфортным, и, в то же время, эффектным - персонажи могли использовать большое количество рукопашного и огнестрельного оружия, могли драться и без оружия - тараны, борты, удары ногами, - всё это действительно производило впечатление. Да вообще, способностей было очень много. Всех не перечислить.

[h1]ИГРОВОЙ ПРОЦЕСС[/h1]
Вообще, схожесть проектов видна невооружённым глазом, а слова, сказанные выше - неплохой довесок ко всему сказанному и очевидному. Каноны современной игровой индустрии предпочитают называть подобное занятие "Вдохновлялись", но если быть объективнее - ничего, кроме второсортного боевичка с пародией на ужастик, сделанный под копирку с RE:Outbreak, мы, к сожалению, не имеем.

Если предыдущая часть с подзаголовком The New Nightmare делала акцент на кооперативе до 4-х персон, то в данной версии нам предстоит играть за одну хрупкую девушку, задачей которой является выживание во мрачном особняке, наполненным головоломками и опасными монстрами. Что-то знакомое, правда? Вот, что мне понравилось в игре - это антураж локаций, и всё. Больше ничем игра порадовать меня не смогла.

Кроме всего прочего, интерфейс тоже скопирован - нам представлен статусный экран персонажа, со схожим интерфейсом из RE:Outbreak - Точно так же показано здоровье главного героя, представленного в виде пульсометра, 4 ячейки инвентаря и (Внимание!), точно такой же шрифт. Но не только интерфейс слизали под копирку - многие враги имеют либо прямое сходство, либо слишком очевидные намёки на это сходство. Конечно, в пример брать зомби я не стану. Не в коем-то разе, нет. Во многих частях Resident Evil фигурировал монстр с именем Hunter (Охотник) - человекоподобный монстр, в котором соединили гены земноводного и человека. Он проворен, живуч и ловок, а атаковал острыми как бритва когтями - отрубить голову персонажу ему не стоило практически ничего. В Outbreak Nightmare Chronicles такие же монстры, но атакуют они не только когтями, но и плевками ядом. Никакого коопирайта? Хорошо. В Resident Evil: The Code Veronica были подобные монстры - "Охотники", плюющиеся ядом, только назывались они Sweeper, и были на порядок совершеннее своих предшественников. Ближе к концу первой главы, героиня столкнётся с медленным, но очень сильным и живучим монстром, который очень похож на Тирана из классической трилогии (Я бы даже сказал, на Вильяма Биркина из Resident Evil 2, который находится только на ранних стадиях мутации). Примеров найдётся достаточно, но для рецензии хватит и двух.

Головоломки, их логика и способы решения тоже сделаны под копирку. Пример: [ГЛАВА 1] нужно ввести код к двери, подсказки находятся в файле неподалёку, который лежит на одном из предметов интерьера, а на окровавленной стене изображён своеобразный шифр. Из того, что дано, нужно угадать неизвестной значение буквы в блокноте, в котором написано значение всех доступных букв, и угадать код замка. Или, например, дверь закрыта, а открыть её можно путём нахождения рукоятки, которая лежит не в самом видном месте, которое охраняют сильные враги (Охотники). Вот, примерно так - вычурно, однотипно и примитивно.

Процесс сохранения прогресса представлен в виде использования дискет на специальных терминалах. Количество дискет ограничено. Впрочем, здесь тоже можно провести параллель с печатными машинками, но данная деталь не столь сильно бросается в глаза.

[h1]"ОБРАТНАЯ СТОРОНА МЕДАЛИ".[/h1]
В последнее время, у многих игр находятся защитники, которые очень любят заветную фразу: "Ага, давайте теперь все остальные игры будем сравнивать с этой". Конечно, найдутся люди, кому понравится, или уже понравился Outbreak: The New Nightmare, и оскорблять их или их вкусовые предпочтения я не в коем случае не стану. Это глупо. Как говорится:" На вкус и цвет товарища нет".

Хорошо. Давайте представим, что разработчики - божьи одуванчики. Никакого спин-оффа CAPCOM не делала, а студия Dead Drop Studios LLC сделала (Или, по крайней мере, попыталась), свой уникальный и эффектный продукт. Даже если бы так было в действительности, то всё равно найдётся немало деталей, к которым можно предъявить недовольство.

Самая первая, и, пожалуй, ощутимая - это анимация. А если точнее - анимания прицеливания, стрельбы и рукопашных ударов. Героиня держит оружие бог пойми как, при стрельбе из оружия нет никакой отдачи, останавливающего действия пули и оказываемого эффекта на врагов. Враг, как ни в чём не бывало, движется в сторону протагониста и падает замертво лишь при определённом количестве нанесённого урона. Но и анимация ближнего боя - тоже Ахилесова пята геймплея. Героиня точно также вычурно держит в руках оружие ближнего боя (Будь-то нож или топор - неважно), и атакует ударами мимо врага, даже не смотря на используемое автоприцеливание. Если атака удалась, то будет показана кровавая анимация, которая идёт с сильной задержкой, а у ударов вообще нет никакого останавливающего или оглушающего действия. Иными словами, выглядит ближний бой так, словно протагонисту сломали обе руки, и он безнадёжно пытается атаковать врага, который, в свою очередь, атакует персонажа. Ну, а говоря про баги и системные ошибки - их тут, - хоть отбавляй. Фризы и вылеты станут лучшими друзьями игрока.

Затрагивая тему тех же головоломок, скажу, что они просты до безумия и однотипны. И в течении всей игры, игрок должен будет решать такого рода загадки. Это очень быстро надоедает.

Если брать в пример сюжет и его концепцию, то отдалённое место, наводнённое мутантами - тоже уже изрядно потрёпанная идея, к которой пришили не одну сотню заплаток. Никакого впечатления она не оказывает, а приятного послевкусия и вовсе не стоит ждать.

Игра получилась противоречивой, и противоречие её заключается в том, что с одной стороны, она сделана под копирку, а с другой - выглядит сырой и недоработанной, и при этом позиционирует она себя как полноценный, а уж тем более, уникальный продукт.

Итоговая отметка:
3.0/10 [Плохо].
Не рекомендую к покупке.

As a fan of the resident evil outbreak series I must take a big smelly poo poo on this game, playing an entire 20 minutes I feel as if I've done my duty sir, to be fair i will be refunding this because I cringed very hard, so much so that I feel as if you should be paying me to promote the game for having wasted my time on this pile of ♥♥♥♥ game.

Also I am surprised capcom hasn't sued you for stealing and copying assets of the game because clearly a professional model ripper has taken some of these classic characters such as claire redfield and chris redfield and tony hawks.

Also, epic animations btw and I shall be refunding in 3.. 2... 1 0 (i refunded now btw)

Outbreak: the nightmare chronicles é um jogo de survival horror que busca recriar a sensação nostálgica dos clássicos do gênero. Infelizmente, minha experiência com o jogo foi bastante negativa.

Um dos pontos mais frustrantes foram os controles alternativos, que simplesmente não funcionavam bem. Além disso, o jogo não conta com NPCs para interagir, o que o torna bastante solitário e monótono. A história é explicada apenas por meio de arquivos de texto, o que acaba tornando a trama pouco imersiva.

Outro problema grave do jogo são as hitboxes quebradas, o que prejudica bastante a jogabilidade. Infelizmente, os controles conseguem ser piores do que os primeiros jogos da franquia Resident Evil.

Apesar dos esforços dos criadores em recriar a atmosfera clássica do survival horror, minha recomendação é não jogar. Existem muitos outros jogos do gênero que oferecem uma experiência muito mais satisfatória.

Outbreak: The Nightmare Chronicles is a short but nice old school like horror game, so let’s get into story.

You play as Lydia, after escaping the city with the few remaining survivors she could find and then blowing up a bunker, her and her friends are chased to a cliff by the monsters.

There they only have two choses getting ripped apart by hellish undead, or jumping off the cliff to a river below, after jumping Lydia and her friends are swapped away from one another and Lydia winds up to a shore and is alone.
Now alone she sees a major, but what hells a wait her there?

Now it’s time for the likes, I like the old school resident evil/older horror game feel to the game and it was nice that the game gave you the chose to play with tank controllers or not.

I liked that even those I have not played the other two games in the series this game tells you what happened in them so you don’t feel lost.

I liked the title of the game being said like in the resident evil games, and the notes you could read were nice, and lastly the enemies we see were scary looking.

Now it’s time for the dislikes, the game was a bit too short I now this is an episodic game but I would have liked the first episode was a bit longer and that it had trips as well.

I all so would have liked to have seen more unique enemies and at the end of the episode I would have liked to fight a unique boss.

And lastly maybe have some bad/cheesy voice acting like the first resident evil game, but that’s just me.

Now that I have said all that, Outbreak: The Nightmare Chronicles despite having a short episode is still a nice old school like horror game and I cannot wait to play the other episodes.

Alright, while the actual concept is good...the delivery is very poor. I love the original resident evil don't get me wrong as this game is intended to look, feel and play like it but come on...7 shotgun rounds to kill a zombie, get real. Ballance your game please then for 3.75 o cam actually recommend it for a fun livestream. However, in its current state, this game is a no. 11 pistol pounds for one zombie...nope. 7 rifle rounds...nope. Devs, get to work.

Pros:

Closing thoughts:

Bought this on sale to try and scratch that survial horror itch. It does a pretty good job of being an original RE clone. Not sure that I missed tank controls though. I haven't played any other Outbreak games so I didn't know anything about the characters or setting but you get enough information in game to keep it interesting. Overall, I enjoyed it and I think I'll pick up the season pass to play the rest of the chapters as they release.

Буду Честен прежде чем купить игру,думал раз 20,хотя очень обажаю старый резидент и меня даже не пугало то что игра сделана криво (смотрел видео,обзоры и прочее).решил дожаться скидки,купил ...и понял что хоть анимация у игры кривая до жути,походняк у героини как будто в парке гуляет на солнце,целится и того хуже....но с учетом того что я не графонодрочер так вабще не обращаю внимания на такие вещи, все же я решил что куплю и остальную часть серии...это реально сделано такими фанатами как я,и за это можно простить кривую анимацию,тут есть все для олдскульных любителей сурвайвл хорорра,мало патронов ,аптечек,готический особняк в общем те кто не брезгует переигрывать в старые игры,игра зайдет на ура,так как графончик сам по себе достаточно приятный ))))

Outbreak: The Nightmare Chronicles - Resident Evil, ты ли это? Сама игра уже третья часть хоррор серии от американских разработчиков "Dead Drop Studios LLC". Примечательно, что каждая игра имеет свой стиль и геймплей, первая игра серии "Outbreak" и вовсе визуально напоминает знаменитую серию "Hotline Miami". Вторая часть "Outbreak: The New Nightmare" заточена под кооператив. А герой нашего обзора, это классический Resident Evil, причем именно первых частей серии. Также стоит выделить, что игра распространяется не только в Steam, но и на игровой консоли Xbox One.

По классике жанра старых игр серии "Resident Evil". Взяв управление за девушку Лидию, вам предстоит исследовать мрачную усадьбу, наполненную нежитью, готовой убить вас в любой момент. Вам предстоит беречь ваши ресурсы, и в зависимости от ситуации, понимать что вам на данный момент нужнее, так как унести всё не получиться, инвентарь довольно небольшой. Решать головоломки, искать ключи, досконально исследуя все комнаты и окрестности. А также понимать когда лучше сразиться с ужасающими недругами, а когда пробежать мимо, ведь каждая встреча может оказаться фатальной. За каждой дверью вас будет ожидать ужас, который вам предстоит преодолеть тем или иным способом.

По сюжету, мир охватила эпидемия. Город горит, а сельская местность охвачена заразой, что превращает людей в нечто не людское, нечто ужасное. И это ужасное свободно перемещается повсюду, а их количество растет, они не оставляют ничего живого на своем пути. Наша протагонистка Лидия оказывается отделенной от оставшихся в живых друзей. Теперь у неё лишь одна цель - выжить.

Сама имеет довольно приятную графику, атмосфера очень мрачная и угнетающая. Также игру нельзя назвать легкой, она довольно сложна. На максимальном уровне сложности и вовсе один удар во вам несет летальный исход. Сохранения тоже ограничены, для этого вам предстоит поиск дискет разбросанных по локациям. Как и говорилось выше, предстоит тщательный осмотр локаций для поиска припасов, которые также ограничены.
В игре присутствует два режима. Сюжетный и режим битвы, в котором вам предстоит сделать всё возможное и добраться до выхода, минуя толпы нежити тем или иным способом.
Также выделим, что игра эпизодическая и купив базовую игру, у вас будет доступ к первому эпизоду и режиму битвы. Остальное предстоит докупать по мере выхода, естественно при желании, или купив Season Pass при котором вы получите доступ ко всем на данный момент вышедшим и грядущим DLC.

Это отличный хоррор на выживание, который будет по нраву всем любителям жанра, а в особенности поклонникам знаменитой серии Resident Evil.

It took me one hour to complete the first chapter of this game + 30 minutes to test out the Battle Mode. While [b]Outbreak: The Nightmare Chronicles[/b] is a short game ([i]at least for now, while it does not have all the chapters released[/i]), it is also a nice reference to the original Resident Evil series. It is also important to mention that I have not played the previous games of this series yet, so I might be missing some points regarding the plot.

[h1]Plot[/h1]

Lydia, a character from the previous part of the game (called Outbreak: The New Nightmare), finds herself in a dark and scary manor estate surrounded by monsters. They are hungry and will stop at nothing to get to her. So, what would a smart and independent woman do? Right, she will find a gun and go hunt the monsters herself!

Outbreak is very similar to the first games of the Resident Evil series. The camera has fixed angles, so sometimes, if you hit the wrong spot, you might be a bit confused at where you are going. The solution to this problem is just to move slower until you get used to how the scene looks. Be aware, that it might be a good idea to shoot in advance while some monsters can be hidden from your view. One of the good points of the game is that Lydia can run, which makes it easier to move around. You will have to return to the previous places, so running will make it way faster than simple walking.

I should also mention one thing that made me cringe – the way Lydia moves looks really strange. If she takes a rifle in her arms, it looks even stranger. However, it is more of a cosmetic issue, so it does not make the game unplayable. And I do not think you will have time to notice it during battles.

There are two modes in Outbreak. The first is the Story one. Here you will find out what happened to Lydia in the deadly mansion and what truth she found during her search. You will have to solve several puzzles to open the doors and get access to better weapons, as well as to read diaries to learn more about the previous story of this place and how it came to this horrible condition. The second mode is for people who are more interested in shooting than solving puzzles. You will need to get to the exit at all costs while dealing will ALL monsters that are stupid enough to come in your way (and there will be plenty of them).

[h1]Conclusion[/h1]

I would recommend this game to people who loved playing old survival horror games. Outbreak has all their basic features (such as fixed places for saves, a small inventory and specific camera angles), as well as some improved ones. The atmosphere of the game is creepy and provides nice experience of a day in an abandoned – or not so abandoned as it seems at first sight – house full of secrets. Just do not forget to reload your gun and take some painkillers!

Духовный наследник знаменитой серии Resident Evil, старомодная экшен-адвенчура. Основной упор геймплея состоит на рассказе истории и решении несложных головоломок, попутно убивая монстров.

Плюсы:
- атмосфера (как графическая, так и звуковое сопровождение)
- ограниченность инвентаря
- возможность сохраняться только в определенных местах и только с флоппи-дисками
- неплохая история
- монстры, которые приносят значительный урон

Минусы:
- немного неуклюжая анимация
- переключение камер происходит слишком резко
- головоломки слишком простые, что правда немного компенсируется тяжело убиваемыми зомби (в них необходимо истратить почти всю обойму на каждого)
- патроны есть везде, из-за этого не возникает ощущения, что ты можешь остаться без оружия
- возможность сохранения в определенных местах также является и небольшим минусом, так как частенько приходится проходить достаточно большие куски игры заново

Итог: для игры, созданной фактически одним человеком, да еще и за привлекательную цену, эта игра очень даже неплоха. Для фанатов олдскульных хоррор-адвенчур она будет наверняка маст-хэвом, а вот остальные, скорее всего, не оценят.

Не верьте красивым скринам и роликам! Игра ужасна, кривая анимация настолько, что только рофлы ловишь. Управление еще кривее. Героиня бегает ооооочень странно, как будто обкакалась, зомби вообще ездят с расставленными руками без анимации. Уж не знаю, баг это или фича проекта

Great stuff for what I've played...I've been waiting without hope for Capcom to see sense and give us real Resi for so long...I probably wouldn't have tried this game until now, but Capcom are not going to do anything with the Resident Evil series properly so I finally feel comfortable just going elsewhere for the same thing.

Why am I talking about classic Resi so much? it's because this game nails it...it's only a slightly paler imitation of games of that calibur...it's good and I love the 'tank controls'...it's like coming home and I will buy all the 'episodes', something I don't do.

바이오하자드 아웃브레이크와 타이틀이 비슷하여 구입하게되었습니다게임의 첫 이미지는 역시 고전 바이오하자드 시리즈 하나였던 바이오하자드 아웃브레이크를 많이 연상시켰습니다. 바이오하자드4 이전의 시리즈에서 보여줬던 3인칭 시점에 불편한 조작감을 이 게임에서도 여실히 느낄 수 있었습니다. 4차원 아이템 상자라던지 디스크로 저장을 하는 것도 바이오하자드 시리즈와 좀 유사한 면이 있었습니다. 그러나 특유의 그렇게까지 어렵지 않은 퍼즐과 나름 호러 어드벤쳐 게임을 즐겨해본 저의 취향을 어느 정도 만족시키는 게임이였습니다. 한글화가 된다면 더 몰입해서 즐길 수 있을 것 같네요.. 짧은 영어로 문서들을 보며 퍼즐과 암호를 풀어나가는 재미는 조금 있었습니다

クリア時間は初見で1時間ほど
前作よりも一本道調になっておりほぼ迷うことなく進むことが出来ます
バイオハザードを意識して作られた前作以上にバイオ
微妙な操作感と変な歩き方の主人公はいつも通り
ボリューム的にはやや少なめかと思いますが息抜きには丁度いいホラー感かと思います
日本語対応していませんがストーリーに重きを置かなければ十分楽しめるかと

Be aware that despite this game is Resident Evil-ish, it does not have a map system.

Also, the modern tank control is absolutely horrendous combining with the fixed camera angle. It's highly advised that you use a gamepad with the classic tank control instead.

It´s a indie survival horror game with old playstyle, fixed camera and limited view.... whats not to like?

It makes me jump, its creepy, you have no controll over your character witch just make it more fun.... wish there was a panic button?

So far i enjoy it, its like $5, half a beer..... witch i think i will take when i play the last part of episode 1 tonight, cheers... i promise i wont pee myself.

Le jeu est plutôt bon, et me fais beaucoup penser aux premiers Resident Evil.
Le scénario est intéressant et les graphismes bon.
Mais la maniabilité est vraiment dur à prendre en main.
Quelques animations sont aussi pas très belle.

To describe this game, it is a tribute to survival horror games of old and plays similar to them, so just a bit of warning as to what you're getting into. Having grown up with these types of games, I enjoyed the experience and would recommend this to others. As of my writing this, only the first episode has been released, so the review will cover that.

First, we need to talk about the camera. We have fixed camera angles that will move from one location to the next as you reach the edge of the screen, somewhat obscuring the room by giving you limited view, similar to older Resident Evil games before they went over-the-shoulder action. However, with the exception of only a couple rooms, the angles are very well placed to give you information about the room while not completely hiding an enemy within it. If you look around upon entering a room, there will be clues as to what lies in wait for you, so be aware that if you are the type of person who just rushes into everything, you may get worked over.

Next, one issue that some people may have is with the animations. Be aware that you are buying an indie budget title, so do not expect AAA level quality. There are a couple weird animations related to the zombies attacking you or the character moving over uneven terrain (I am unsure of the zombie reaction to getting shot being normal though), but only one of those really impacts gameplay. Sadly, there are no different character animations to reflect your health status like in Resident Evil, so you will have to open the menu periodically to check when you get hit. I didn't really have a problem with any of this, but I imagine some people will.

Finally, in terms of gameplay, this is definitely one of the highlights. Your character aims her guns like in classic Resident Evil, but you also have a pair of melee weapons like in Silent Hill. You have 6 inventory slots that you have to manage like early Resident Evil, but unfortunately, the bullets only stack so high before they take an additional slot, which adds an extra layer to inventory management. So far in this game, there is no way to expand your inventory (only the first episode currently), so be aware you may have to fall back to a safe room to swap your inventory around.

Beyond inventory management, one thing that is different is that Lydia can move much better than any of the early Resident Evil characters. You are able to aim and shoot very quickly allowing you to kite zombies or other enemies around until you kill them, and you can reload on the fly (you can use menus too if you prefer). Depending on the enemy and weapon, sometimes your shots will have some stopping power to them, helping you kite groups of enemies or in some instances allowing you to stand your ground and unload until some hapless chump is dead (again). There are also quite a few different weapon types (pistol, shotgun, rifle, grenade launcher, and magnum), which can make managing your inventory a little more difficult as Chris only had to worry about a few.

Additionally, the game also possesses a battle mode, which I believe is along the lines of Mercenaries from Resident Evil, but I have not had the chance to try it yet.

In terms of sound and music, there wasn't really anything that stood out as too memorable, nor is there anything that really ruins the immersion. It serves the job well of setting the atmosphere without taking away from the complete package.

For those interested in picking this up, the first episode has about 1 hour worth of gameplay and depending on how quickly you find the sequence of progression, it may take you 1.5-2 hours. Once you know what you're doing, speedrunners should be able to run through this in about 30 min. Just remember this is the first episode and there is also an additional mode to justify the purchase. And remember that if you're still on the fence, there are videos posted online so you can see more about what you're getting into.

The last bit of warning I have to give is for those coming into the series completely new like me. This is the 3rd game, with the first being a top down shooter, and second being an online multiplayer. There seems to be some kind of bigger story linking all of these together, but I can't comment on that as little is explained in this episode. Additionally, there are a few mechanics that are not explained, which I believe may be staples from the other games, such as the Ipecac or glowing zombies. After clearing the first episode, I still do not understand them, but I was able to clear it without running into any issues.
