I am not a huge fan of platformers to begin with but i liked the art style of the game so i thought i'd give it a chance.
The graphics are great but that's about it. The puzzles are not really interesting or challenging, the platforming is meh, there is not really a lot of story even if I have the feeling that the game wants to be really deep. There is only a little scene in the end that adds some sort of contect/ story but it's just not enough to lift up the rest of the game.

Eine Reise durch ein Spiel, erzählt in Bildern, mit einer unglaublich tiefen Geschichte.. in einigen Teilen, findet man sich selbst wieder, einige Momente haben mich wirklich tief berührt.. Ein tolles Spieleerlebnis, das sich auf jeden Fall lohnt, denn jeder wird diese Reise vielleicht anders erleben. Hat Spaß gemacht, dieses spiel zu erleben :)

Jeu sympathique, D.A assez soigné comme pas mal de jeux de ce style là, maintenant sa limite est que je pense que ça reste assez conventionnelle dans ce que ça propose, il lui manque certaines choses pour qu'on puisse en garde un souvenir marquant mais on prend plaisir à le faire malgré tout, la plupart des casses têtes sont quand même assez simple et l'histoire me semble légère aussi , ces deux points là trahissent un peu ce jeu qui aurait pu vraiment être encore plus prenant . A faire une fois ceci dit et pour pas cher car il reste très court. Je lui mettrai un 14 sur 20.

Recommended if you want a short, very simple puzzle platformer. The game looks great and plays well but the puzzles are very simplistic and straightforward. There is a lack of overall story or emotions throughout. Gameplay is solid and the game looks good but again it is very simple and short.

I played Out of Line entirely on Steam Deck and did not encounter any issues.

I enjoyed this game! It's a short (~1.5-2h) puzzle platformer featuring a beautiful art style. There wasn't much of a story, but you play as San and befriend a few characters throughout your adventure. All of the game's mechanics revolve around San's staff/spear tool, which I found quite unique and interesting. Another review cited the game as having good music but I don't recall any music, only atmospheric ambience and other sound effects (which were well designed).

For achievement collectors: This is an easy 100%! There are a few missable achievements but there are multiple guides online if needed. The only thing that makes it difficult is that there is no chapter select or ability to backtrack, meaning if you miss a collectible and progress, you need to start a new game to get the collectible.

I received this game from a friend and am grateful for the opportunity to play it! I would recommend this game to people who are looking for a short, simple, and beautiful game to play, perhaps as a palate cleanser after a more emotionally or mentally taxing game. At full price I think it's too expensive for the amount of playtime you get, so pick it up on sale.

I like puzzle games even though they can be a bit frustrating at times. This one was the right level of challenging for me though: enough to entertain, but not to have to keep on checking stuff online (I only had to once). I sadly think I missed a cube so I'm a bit disappointed to not have all of the achievements, but oh well (as a side note you can get all the achievements in a single playthrough which is always nice). At some point I thought the game ended, but it continued a bit more, it was easy and quick from then on though. I enjoyed it a lot.

At first I did compare it to Planet of Lana a lot and thought of it as a lesser game, but it actually surprised me with the different mechanics, environments and characters being introduced. It's similar in a way with the story being set in a dystopian world, but still so much different at the same time. I especially loved the fact that you help the characters and they help you, makes me feel as if I'm playing with real people! I'd say it's worth playing, it's short after all and a fun, pretty cozy experience! Beware though, it does have time-limited puzzles so if you're not okay with that then it might not be for you. They aren't hard, but still maybe not for everyone.

Such a beautifully crafted game! The art was fantastic, and the music was well done. Also loved the puzzles and the many different types we got to encounter.

There was a minor bug where the chains(?) wouldn't latch on to the character and would have to click the right mouse button a few times before it did. Another one I did encounter (where I had to quit to the menu and return back into the game) where one of the bugs refused to go into one of the holes.

Out of line isn't the best puzzle platformer ever but it's another good one to play if you like the genre like me. The spear throwing gimmick is used throughout the game in some clever albeit basic puzzles. There's glimmers of brilliance sprinkled inbetween and later puzzles have a nice difficulty curve. But it's not the sort of puzzle game where every challenge is unique such as INSIDE. Still though it's a game worth playing if only because of the beautiful hand painted art style. The world is unique and has some memorable setpieces as well as a good ambience thanks to solid sound design. Music wasn't the most inspiring and neither was the story but for the runtime it had, it left me satisfied. The asking price is fair for what you're getting so i'm giving it a well deserved thumbs up!

Основная хорошая сущность в игре - копьё. Им интересно пользоваться, хоть и неудобно. Арт норм, музыка meh, сюжет стандартный. Кмк, надо было копьё более комплексным предметом сделать, тогда бы и пазлы под него хотелось подогнать.

В итоге, мы получаем довольно скучную игру, которая не оставляет после себя ничего, к сожалению.

«Out of Line» явно вдохновлена этими играми, но при этом имеет достаточно уникальных особенностей, чтобы выделиться на их фоне.

Художественный стиль игры, выполненный вручную, напоминает анимацию студии Ghibli. С самого начала видно, что в игру вложена любовь и забота разработчика Nerd Monkeys, и неудивительно, что она уже получила награды, ещё даже не выйдя в релиз.

同类型作品里的中规中矩之作。单独拎出来看不错，然而跟其他类似的游戏比起来显得很平庸。

这是一个中评。
还是一个2D平台解谜类的游戏。全程没有文本介绍，讲的是一只邪恶的机械巨爪入侵了主角San的家园，企图把自然改造为工厂，然后我们的主角踏上冒险打败巨爪并且收集记忆碎片恢复记忆之树。跟类似的游戏玩法大差不差，主角多了一根可以随时抛出&收回的金色长矛，可以扔出去当跳板、插进机关当拉杆、卡住转动的齿轮、绑在锁链上做吊桥……根据场景不同需要灵活使用特性，很多地方解谜也不难。

至于全成就，绝大部分和主线流程挂钩，收集16个记忆方块需要细心一些，不过鉴于场景要素不多，每个角落探一探基本上就都能找到。错过的话就很麻烦了——这个游戏不能手动存档，每到一个新场景自动存档，即使通关了也不能选择检查点只能再开一局，一周目拿不到所有记忆方块只能二刷。

游戏的优点嘛在于它的手绘风格，主角San呆呆的有点可爱，场景的画风也不错：色彩鲜艳的森林、阴沉冷暗的工厂……对气氛的烘托也很到位，全程下来如同看了一个短小的童话故事一样。

游戏的不足之处也不少。首先是之前提到的自动存档没有检查点的问题，作者可能觉得游戏通关流程很短不需要，然而差不多时长的《A juggle's tale》都有，导致少一个记忆方块不能回去补只能开二周目，然而玩过一遍再开二周目也没兴趣了；其次是解谜的问题，谜题太简单变来变去就依靠长矛的那几种用法，到了后面几乎是看一眼场景就明白解法了。里面的几场追逐战也没其他游戏那么强的压迫感——一直埋头往前跑就行了，也不用担心障碍，综合下来游戏流程也不长。

这游戏bug也不少，包括且不仅限于——让甲虫进入齿轮箱里供电时，跟个无头苍蝇一样乱动，按钮踩爆了它也不进去；齿轮箱里的甲虫直接由于未知神秘力量被卡了出去；由于奇怪的判定主角跳跃时直接被卡了下去……类似的bug加上并不是很流畅的操作大大影响了游玩时的体验

如果只是喜欢2D平台类的游戏，我并不推荐它——类似的好游戏不少；倘若只是为了体验一个童话故事，只能说还行

Out of Line es una ligera aventura de puzzles y plataformas 2D donde San, nuestro protagonista, trata de escapar desesperádamente de la fábrica que un día fue su hogar, la cual es invadida por unas oscuras máquinas que destruyen todo a su paso. San se embarcará en un peligroso viaje para restaurar el árbol sagrado para los seres de su especie, conociendo por el camino a dos extraños personajes parecidos a él. Uniendo fuerzas, y gracias a unos artefactos sagrados, estos tres personajes serán la clave para restaurar la paz y el orden.
La historia de Out of Line se cuenta puramente a través de pinturas y de los hechos en sí, carente de diálogos, por lo que el verdadero objetivo de San y su relación con el árbol sagrado quedan un poco a interpretación del jugador.

Si hay algo que caracteriza a Out of Line es su llamativo apartado gráfico y lo breve de su historia. A nivel de mecánicas y jugabilidad no es un título destacable, no presenta grandes desafíos y la dificultad o complejidad de los puzzles queda muy diluida. San portará durante todo el viaje una lanza sagrada, la cual será el eje central de la movilidad y de la mayoría de puzzles, pudiendo usarla para activar o detener mecanismos, clavarla a la pared y actuar como trampolín o como palanca, así como crear puentes con los que salvar obstáculos. En ciertos puntos de la aventura tendremos además que colaborar con ciertos compañeros que iremos encontrando para resolver puzzles cooperativos.

[h2]Valoración[/h2]
Out of Line no es un juego realmente destacable, la trama es breve, poco definida y abstracta haciendo que queden cabos sueltos. Los puzzles están bien balanceados y son entretenidos, pero no te obligan a romperte mucho la cabeza. Sin duda es uno de esos juegos que divierten y entretienen, pero que no se quedan grabados en la memoria. Completarlo al 100% me ha llevado menos de 3 horas y funciona adecuadamente en Steam Deck!

It was a simple short game! I would recommend this game if you have a nerdy gamer boyfriend (like me) but you are not really a gamer – then this game is perfect! The controls are simple (only W, A, D and mouse R and L). It is possible to walk only L, R, up and down.

The game starts a little bit slowly at the beggining (which is perfect for slow learners and annoying for gamers) but it does not last long. Also, the story is interesting as it unfolds during the game.

This game is similiar to Ori or Roki. –it's a puzzle game. Therefore it is perfect if you want to relax and to solve puzzles at the same time!

"Out of Line" is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. In fairness, this Nintendo Switch ported handheld platformer is far from the worst on Steam, and doesn't even feature terrible pixel "art", there's no prizes for being fairly tall for a midget.

This puzzle platformer features some handcrafted art and has puzzles that revolve around simplistic physics and other activities, as well as a somewhat whimsical story. Such a concept might work if presented with extremely high quality 3D visuals and gameplay, but this is a Nintendo Switch game here on Steam.

One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience.

From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.

The 2D artwork here is middling at best, a hodge-podge of amateurish "My First Wacom Tablet" style drawings used instead professional looking game assets, and isn't of sufficient quality to make up for the other defects in the game.

There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision.

The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts.

Because this is designed for handheld/portable gaming appliances, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the low power handheld gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the mobile game developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for low power handhelds forces upon a game. While this might run well on a Steam Deck, we must remember the vast majority of gamers here are gaming on PC.

These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

The game never really caught on with the millions of gamers on Steam, with a very low peak player count close to launch, and then just a handful of players launching this game every couple of days. This is undoubtedly caused by factors such as those raised in this review. It's always helpful with buying decisions to consider how popular and successful the product is, and unfortunately while this did accumulate a few participation trophy reviews, overall, people just aren't using it.

So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?

"Out of Line" has the greedy, cash grab price of around $8 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. For comparison, the $8 asking price for this game could get you games like "Fallout: New Vegas", "Borderlands 2" or "Warhammer: Vermintide 2". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.

I finished this game in a day and it's such a fun, easy game to play when you want something that isn't frustrating. It's an adorable side-scroller with a hand-painted art style and very nice soundtrack. It reminds me a lot of Unravel (one of my favorite games). The learning curve is very small - none of the mechanics are too difficult to figure out - and I think this would be a perfect game to introduce non-gamers to.

It's fairly straightforward at each stage to figure out what you need to do next, which is nice when you're tired from a long day of work or the like. There isn't much story and the game doesn't try to take itself too seriously or shoehorn in some super deep message or anything, which I think is nice. Very relaxing, don't really need quick reflexes. Great for unwinding at the end of the day.

I really enjoyed this game. I think this is probably the only platformer I've actually played through to the end in my 20-plus years on steam. Usually I'll try a puzzle platformer for an hour or so and then give up in total frustration having run out of patience and feeling like I was wasting my time. Something about this one hooked me right from the start and I never even considered uninstalling it and moving on. The world it creates is beautiful in its unique way and the difficulty was just right for me. There are a few sections requiring some dexterity and a bit of practice, but nothing really challenging enough to bring on a rage quit. Highly recommended.

Review from a 100% complete playthrough on the Steam Deck.

To get Out of Line working completely you need to use Proton GE. I just used the latest version and that worked fine.
You can easily get 3-4 hours of battery life and finish the entire game in one charge with 40 fps at 4 TDP.

As for the game itself I think it's a very by the numbers LIMBO-type game that unfortunately is a bit on the harder side to recommend in earnest as it is way too buggy for it's own good.

It's not very long and the puzzles are not very hard either.
But the art style is gorgeous and the colors pop right off the screen!
The music is also really nice and calming and creates a really nice atmospheric and emotional vibe throughout. (although the actual moment to moment situations that happens aren't that emotional in of themself)

So despite it's issues I can still say I recommend it on sale as long as you tamper expectations.

A stunning handcrafted game with too many bugs that hamper the experience continually. If not for that , I would be scoring this higher as it was a nice 3 hours spent , a not so difficult 100% (when you know what you're looking for) with some actual okay puzzle sections. But I had to restart the game multiple times on account of AIs not going to their intended places (beetles going into those holes). Aswell as a stupidly unresponsive rope mechanic introduced later in the game that killed me once or twice because of it.

I hurts to score this so low because the backgrounds are so visually striking and create meaningful depth between foreground and background. Although in some instances they make it hard to understand what onscreen is mountable and not , especially in those parallel puzzling scenes. A little more contrast , deeper colouring could've done worlds here (but I understand it hampers style and environment cohesion).

But I would still recommend this as its short and has it merits (especially if you need more achievements on your profile).

다른 평가 보면 알겠지만 그냥 무난한 퍼즐 플래폼 게임.

주로 퍼즐에 중점이 있는데 난이도도 어렵지 않고 무난함. 좀 과장하면 애들이랑 같이 해도 괜찮을 만한 난이도?
스토리는 우리 세계수 같은 나무를 공격하는 기계들을 물리치는 용사인 나의 이야기인거 같다. 초반에 나랑 비슷한 친구들이 같이 전진해 나가고 서로 도와주길래 뭔가 했는데 이것도 다 떡밥이었다. 스토리를 끝까지 보면 개략적으로 그런 내용 같다는 느낌은 받는다. 정확한 내용은 모름.

한글은 메뉴만 한글이고 게임 내 글이 없이 때문에 사실 한글이 필요가 없는 수준이다. 귀찮은 점은 한 번 깼을 때 못 한 도전과제가 있다면 무조건 처음부터 해야 한다는 점. 난 큐브는 한 방에 모았는데 딱정벌레 공격하기를 못 해서 처음부터 다시 해서 거기까지 갔었다.

60퍼 할인 기준으로 3560원이니 무난하고 가볍게 잠깐 즐기기에 좋은 게임. 추천.

Ręcznie rysowana grafika i dość dobra ścieżka dźwiękowa to nie wszystko (choć za te elementy spokojnie 7/10).

Tytuł polecony przez algorytm steam. Dałem się nabrać przez wysokie oceny, tyle, że kompletnie nie zwróciłem uwagi jaka jest ich ilość. Stawiam, że zostały nastukane przez towarzystwo siedzące przy tym samym co twórcy ognisku.

Gra nie wnosi absolutnie nic.

Dla wyjadaczy przygodowych platformówek z rodzaju puzzle games, zagadki nie będą stanowić jakiegokolwiek wyzwania.

Ograna w 3,5h, a jestem z tych co grają zazwyczaj dłużej niż średnia statystyczna danego tytułu.
Fabuła? Ktokolwiek widział, ktokolwiek wie. Nie wiadomo, kto, co, skąd i dlaczego. Trzeba ją sobie dokręcić samemu, na koniec, po jakimś kwasie najlepiej... siedząc razem z ekipą od ocen... przy ich ognisku.

Na koniec mimo wszystko przewrotnie, bo... nie jest to gra... zła. To jest po prostu coś w co fan gatunku grał wcześniej już ze sto razy. Zatem jak nie widzisz problemu, żeby sięgnąć po raz sto pierwszy i to w ŁADNYM wydaniu, to... może Ci się spodobać.

Ja na pewno zapamiętam tę grę, choćby za to, że nie ma z niej nic do zapamiętania.

Moja ocena - 4/10.

La historia en sí es un poco floja, visualmente es precioso pero me he quedado un poco con las ganas. Ah! Y se puede jugar perfectamente en la steam deck.

La jugabilidad es easy, los puzzles no tienen mucho misterio, hay algunas partes dónde precisión y tiempo juegan un papel importante pero en resumen es un juego fácil y muy tranquilo.

No pongo una review negativa por el trabajo que tiene detrás y ya que, a pesar de la baja dificultad, lo he disfrutado.

There is something relaxing about these hand drawn games. Don't expect hard core platforming or to be blow away. The puzzles offer a moderate challenge and achievement hunting is pretty easy if you are curious.

Over all I give Out of Line a 7.25 out of 10. A nice, little indie tile here.

Can't progress the game due to a bug, when I need to grab a chain the first time I grab a chain it works but further on it stops working and I can't grab any chains anymore, the game is literally unbeatable and the devs seem radio silent about it, idk if this happens to everyone but the game is literally broken.

A cute little puzzle platformer, somewhat similar to Limbo, but not as grim and saturnine. The game is short and rather easy (plus there's a lot of checkpoints), but has the same minus as Limbo, Inside and Little Nightmares: most of the locations have only one exact solution, and if you do a single mistake, the character dies, and you have to replay part of the level again. But as I said, there's a lot of checkpoints and the game is not hard, so it's just a minor drawback.

Fantastic little gem of a game - especially for those who like smaller games that tend to tell a story without saying a single word. The game does a great job of adding mechanics to the game naturally and teaching the player each of them organically. Not terribly difficult (not a huge platformer fan myself) but the platforming and puzzles were forgiving and satisfying respectively. I think there was only one puzzle that really had me scratching my head for a bit. The sound and art style is beautiful, and this played perfectly on my steam deck.
The only thing i wish had been in the game was a chapter selection type of function. I missed one of the last collectibles and ended up playing through the game a second time. Honestly though - the game is short enough and enjoyable enough to where it was worth going through a 2nd time anyway.

Jogo muito bom e divertido! 話も目的も全くわからない。雰囲気だけ。
アクションするけど、パズルゲーム。短い。
オプションで画面設定はない。ALT+ENTERでフルスクリーン解除しつつ、コミュニティタブにある通りレジストリでウィンドウサイズを変更できる。
ただ、ウィンドウモードにすると、マウスの判定がクライアント領域だけでなくタイトルバーや縁まであるせいでクリックミスが起きる。

L'expression consacrée c'est "mi-figue, mi-raisin" je crois😁

OUT OF LINE est un puzzle plateformer comme on en fait finalement plein mais avec quelque chose en "plus" : sa DA si particulière !🤩 Le jeu est en effet entièrement dessiné à la main et ça se voit dès le premier coup d'👀 ! Vous le savez pour ceux qui me suivent depuis un moment maintenant mais ce genre de démarches me touchent particulièrement 👌 Je trouve que les jeux réalisés de cette manière présentent un supplément d'âme que les moteurs graphiques classiques n'ont pas ! Toutefois OUT OF LINE tombe (à mon humble sens) dans les mêmes travers que bons nombre de AAA ! Je m'explique...!🤓

Les grosses productions ont (je n'aime pas généraliser pourtant 🤫) cette facheuse tendance à se reposer sur la qualité graphique de ce qu'elles proposent (et en font un argument de vente d'ailleurs) et ce, au détriment de ce qui fait pourtant entrer un jeu dans l'histoire : le scénario ! Et bien OUT OF LINE, bien qu'indépendant et loin de revendiquer tout photo réalisme, tombe finalement un peu dans le même travers 😕 Il surfe sur sa DA si particulière mais présente l'écueil de taille de nous laisser sur notre faim en bout de course😔

Techniquement c'est propre et efficace et cela reste dans les codes des puzzle plateformers habituels : une difficulté progressive et maîtrisée, un gameplay intuitif, une variété dans les environnements 👍 mais la sauce ne prend pas scénaristiquement👎

Le problème c'est qu'on veut nous dire des choses (ou qu'on les comprenne), voir qu'on se fasse une interprétation de ce qu'on vit mais force est de constater qu'arrivé au bout de l'aventure... Eh bien... Je cherche toujours le sens de cette dernière...🤔

En résumé : 3h00 agréables mais qui ne parviennent pas à transformer l'essai de mon côté !🧐

I really enjoyed Out of Line. It is a lovingly crafted side-scrolling platformer in which you guide a small person through a series of environments. Along the way, he is assisted by a several characters who become an integral part of puzzle solutions. Your goal is to find 16 blue cubes and restore them to a central tree.

The art is beautiful and the musical sound track is quite nice. There is no dialog. Although your character can (and probably will) die often, there are no violent death scenes and very little penalty for missing a jump. You have a spear which functions as a climbing tool, a lever, and a rope thrower. As you navigate the varied environments, the puzzle is to create a path forward using diverse mechanics. The platforming was fairly easy, with only a couple of sections that had tricky timing. The puzzles make sense and build on each other as you progress. And, then there are the pesky mechanical claws scattered about, spewing death rays...

All in all, a nice experience with one drawback. The game auto-saves to a single slot with no chapter select option. This means that achievement hunters will need to start from square one if any are missed on along the way. I ended up playing the first section three times before moving forward, as I kept forgetting about one of the cubes that is not obvious. The trick is to be sure you have explored all paths before moving on. While the game moves primarily from left to right, cubes may be in a level above, below, or to the right. For the most part, once an area is passed, there is no turning back.

I recommend this to those who enjoy a peaceful platformer with a 'feel-good' ending. If you enjoyed games like Aspire: Ina's Tale and Inside, then you are quite likely be a fan of Out of Line.

This game is very good for me. I'm not great at platform puzzle games, but this one is right at might level of difficulty, which might be too easy for more die hard players. Each section changes things up a little. There is always a new surprise around the corner. The game looks great, so it's relaxing and challenging at the same time. It's well designed, because though I mess up some times, the game is forgiving and has save locations in just the right spot. It is worth it on sale or not. I really dislike reading a lot in a video game. I read a lot at work and I don't want to be reading tons of text when I'm trying to unwind or have some fun. There is no reading in this game. Bravo! So if you read this far, I hope I've persuaded you to give it a try. I think you'll like it.

Приятный пазл-платформер от португальских разработчиков часа на 2,5. В духе Limbo, но светлее. Повествование идёт без слов, зато под мелодичную музыку. Дизайн уровней шероховатый и головоломки простенькие, но и никто не стремится вынести мозг. Есть ачивменты и сборные кубики (один из которых я всё же где-то упустил, а перехода по главам авторы не предусмотрели). Пару эпизодов вполне можно назвать битвой с боссом, хотя никакой боевой системы тут нет.

Основная механика — метание многофункционального копья, которое может быть и опорой, и включает кнопки, и очищает путь. Довольно скоро появляются и друзья-помощники, каждый со своими особенностями, и разные механизмы, и дополнительные копья. Вообще, видно, что авторы старались разнообразить весь процесс и привнести некую кинематографичность, и хоть шедевра в итоге не получилось, но сыграть, мне кажется, стоит, особенно если вам симпатичен данный жанр.

本质上游戏是比较纯粹的关卡制解谜类型，围绕着利用某些道具来完成其中涉及的谜题，本作中所选择的则是San手中的那根能量长矛。

本作中的长矛除了不能当做武器外，可以触发机关和远程击毁某些障碍物，还能插在墙上充当弹性跳台，当成异物卡住正在运行的齿轮，甚至可以当成场景机关的操纵杆，绑在铁索上还能变成锁链桥，可谓是用处广泛。
（很难计算插在墙上的位置，后期有需要多跟矛同时插入的）

而这一切的机制都建立在这根长矛的抛物计算上，这根长矛在游戏中会通过玩家的控制以某种曲率方向飞射出去，从而变成以上说法中的某种用途。但是实际上由于图层中的遮挡问题，外加微妙抛物计算，玩家总是很难精准的投掷到想要的地方，经常会出现长矛卡在墙里的现象。这对不少限时解谜的谜题造成了一定的难度，也是玩家日常吐槽游戏手感微妙的主要原因之一。

除此之外，游戏为了控制抛矛方向而锁定了鼠标，San会一直跟着鼠标所在方位看。假如鼠标移动到San身后，那么它就会侧身来看而不是换个方向跑动，如果这时玩家正要进行平台跳跃而不小心误动鼠标，那么会直接减慢San的行进速度从而掉入深渊。这点是个人亲身经历经常吃瘪的地方，对于影响体验来说相当致命。

整体来看游戏一共四个大关章节，每个章节之间的主题不同，包含了郊外、森林、遗迹和工厂等类型。每进入新章节就会额外引入些许新的解谜机制，早期多为单线谜题而后期则多为叠加的复合谜题。

不过谜题之间都相对非常简单，就连可收集的蓝色碎片也都是在肉眼可见的地方，几乎没有刁难玩家的地方，以至于不少机灵的玩家都能在两个小时内通关游戏，而这也变相的表示了游戏本身其实内容不够丰富。

此外游戏不支持云存档并且也不能进行章节选择，玩家如果真的是漏收集了或者是多机体验，那么也就只有重新来过一条路了，让人未免觉得有些遗憾。

最后的结尾较为仓促，没能很好能体现出前期被机械追杀的紧迫感下让人如释重负，反倒是一路上许许多多的San们都纷纷倒在了磨爪之下，唯独主角San逃出生天，让人感觉烟消云散。或许事实上主创的弗朗西斯科压根就不打算讲明这个故事，而只是在他学生时代的碎片创意中取材构建了这个天马行空的世界，看上去似乎讲了个文艺范的故事，却远不如《Gris》所带来那么有冲击力，也没有“Ori”系列所展现的那么清晰，这也就是本人在最开始表态游戏还不够格登入精品殿堂的原因。

本作在介绍中表明了是一款手绘风格的游戏，但就个人的美术学习经验来看多少有些油画的质感，尤其体现在第二关的森林树木上，交错的树叶给人以一种厚涂感，这是细腻风的铅笔手绘很难做到的类型。

后本人就去翻阅了一些游戏开发资料和草稿图，发现了不少有意思的内容。据主创团队表示其目标是制作一款“以最简单的形式呈现最具张力的游戏”，而其中的角色设计也更是借鉴了不少印象派的艺术风格，并且深受宫崎骏带领的“吉卜力工作室”影响，所以其中也出现长相类似口袋妖怪莲叶童子的不明生物（据成就说是甲虫？），整体的世界风格定位相当奇幻又充满了和谐。
