The walk speed was slow, probably to draw the game out as long as possible to make sure you don't blast through this shallow game in well under two hours.
There could be an interesting story here, but everything happens too quickly and easily. It was just very simplistic and disappointing.

Open Roads відчувається як інді-фільм про подорож — теплий, трохи сумний роман.

Гра дарує відчуття, ніби ти перегортаєш старий фотоальбом, але замість фотографій — місця. Ця історія коротка, але дуже запам'ятовується. Тут багато діалогів, які відносять тебе до моментів минулого персонажів — ти переживаєш це разом із ними, і наприкінці дуже прив'язуєшся до героїв.
Вважаю, що якщо історія не залишає тебе байдужим — це гарна гра.
Візуальний стиль — м’які кольори, осінні фарби, трохи акварельний. Персонажі виглядають ніби намальовані поверх 3D-середовища. Через це світ здається трохи нереальним, як спогад або сон.
Стиль був для мене трохи незвичним — дуже нагадав візуальні новели. Але до цього швидко звикаєш.

Багато діалогів записували як імпровізацію акторів, щоб вони звучали природніше.
Атмосфера дуже ностальгійна. Я б описав її як меланхолійна “повсякденна магія”. Не обов’язково сумна, але в ній є: відчуття втраченого часу, сімейні таємниці, старі листи, щоденники, речі, історії, які довго мовчали… натяки, які трогають душу сильніше, ніж висказана вголос драма.
Історії людей складні: хтось щось не розповідає, хтось пам'ятає по-своєму, хтось романтизував минуле. Це додає реалізму, бо у справжньому житті ми часто дізнаємось, що батьки були складнішими людьми, ніж нам здавалося.

Гра залишає післясмак, але не “ось це і була правильна версія”. Натомість залишається відчуття: історії людей складні, пам'ять неточна, правда складається з кількох версій.
Мене це змусило згадати про власну родину.

Це той тип настрою, коли ти відкриваєш коробку зі старими речами на горищі — і раптом знаходиш щось, про що давно забув.
Гра майже камерна. Багато моментів проходять у тихих кімнатах, напівпорожніх будинках і вечірніх зупинках у дорозі. Через це створюється дуже особисте відчуття — ніби ти підслуховуєш розмови або читаєш чиюсь історію.

У грі важлива не подія, а відчуття дороги, моменту і розмов між людьми.
Мають сенс навіть ті вибори, які здаються дрібницею.

Мені подобається, що залежно від деяких ваших дій наприкінці історії фінал може сприйматись зовсім по-різному. Деякі рішення можуть сильно змінити те, як розкриваються події і персонажі.
Багато хто порівнює її з Life Is Strange: багато моментів, коли нічого великого не відбувається — сидиш у кімнаті, дивишся на дощ за вікном, слухаєш музику і просто думаєш про життя.

У Open Roads схоже відчуття — звичайні моменти стають емоційно важливими. Ти буквально складаєш історію з фрагментів чужого життя.
Я б не радив проходити її швидко — можна просто розтягнути подорож і насолодитись атмосферою пригоди.

Jeu d'aventures proche du pointer & cliquer, avec une "action" en temps réel et des dialogues avec des personnages en 2D type dessin animé des années 60, l'aventure se penchant sur un lointain passé qu'essaient de découvrir la mère et la fille, "détectives" de cette histoire familiale cachée.
L'animation est restreinte pour les dialgoques. Au début, ça choque un peu, après on s'y habitue et ça s'agence un peu mieux. En fait, l'animation se fait sur 3 secondes puis ne bouge pas. Manque de temps? Manque de finition? Il est vrai que les dialogues sont nombreux, mais au final pas tant que ça.

Relativement facile, on peut se laisser bercer par ce petit "road game" qui peut être rangé dans les jeux tranquilles, à la manière de "Lake", mais dans un tout autre genre, preuve s'il en était qu'il y a beaucoup de sujets à aborder dans le jeu vidéo, sans que ça se termine par des massacres en 3D en multijoueurs.

Le ton m'a semblé toutefois un peu conservateur. Il y a une partie canadienne dans l'équipe et le jeu semble s'amuser à titiller un peu cette équipe. Ce n'est pas violent mais cela m'a fait un peu tiquer.

D'une façon générale, le jeu, qui maîtrise son sujet avec peu de faiblesses en jeu (j'ai eu quelques soucis dans la manipulation qui peut parfois partir vite, je ne sais pas si c'est à cause de mon ordinateur à changer ahahah).
Un peu court tout de même, ou bien c'est parce qu'on se prend volontiers au jeu, c'est un jeu à conseiller, surtout pour les ados en manque de repères et les mères joueuses qui seraient un peu dépassées par certains événements de leur vie, ça pourrait les aider à relativiser.

PS aux programmeurs:
ces bulles à éclater dans la chambre de la fille et où on a beau cliquer, ça ne fait rien, auriez-vous oublié de travailler ce passage ou bien y a-t-il un mauvais lien du programme? Parce qu'il ne se passe rien du tout chez moi (mais ça n'a aucune intérêt pour l'histoire donc on pourrait s'en moquer, mais j'étais fou de joie (d'accord j'exagère un peu) à l'idée d'éclater des bulles de papier à bulles.

半价入的情况下13加元买个3.4小时就全成就封盘的小型剧情探索游戏感觉不太划算。而且感觉有点标题欺诈，我以为是99号公路和Keep Driving那种公路旅行相关的，结果大部分时间就只是探索场景和翻箱倒柜（并且走得还贼慢，没法加速），而且场景也少，收拾自己的房间，搜一遍自己家，搜一遍度假屋，简单住个汽车旅馆，搜一遍船屋，就没了，明明按照剧情可以在后面有更多章节的，比如去看爸爸，以及和妈妈一起搬到小姨August家住之类的，或者是主角Tess以后的发展，以及这次的旅程给她带来了什么启示和收获，我觉得加上这些内容后卖现在这个价格才算是合理。难以想象原价买的玩家看到制作人员列表的那一刻是什么感想XD

当然，这游戏也不是一无是处，有点奇异人生系列那种比较浓的生活气息，不管是搬家还是近距离检视各种生活物品还是汽车旅馆吃汉堡都挺有代入感的，特别是如果你也曾经回到小时候生活的地方然后重新看看当年的人事物，可能会有更浓厚的情感共鸣吧。剧情整体上也算合格，有矛盾有反转，但到头来还是一场空，[spoiler]姥爷用非法手段获得的大笔钱财被他自己挥霍一空，知道了母女的身世之谜后，生活还是要继续，也不知道为啥Opal在经历这一切之后就突然想通了，也同意女儿去看爸爸了，也不排斥住在August家了，感觉有点强行，还是说F人都是这种样子……[/spoiler]配音的演出也还算不错，但全程2D动画就有点出戏了，很多地方还是固定动画，充斥着一种简陋感。

所以如果你想经历一次美式生活化风格的自我探索之旅（查了一下，密歇根州真的有Greenville这座城市，就在Grand Rapids东北），可以等这游戏半价及以下的时候入手体验下，但别抱太高期待就好（笑）

I am a big fan of walking simulators, with Gone Home and Tacoma being some of my favourite examples of environmental storytelling, so I was hyped to try Open Roads by the same developers. It’s hard for me to say how the development was influenced by the alleged toxic working conditions, but the result is both interesting and uneven.

The game tells the story of a teenager, Tess, and her mother, Opal, who are moving after the death of Tess’s grandmother. The narrative is well thought-out and features the voices of Kaitlyn Dever and Keri Russell, who, apart from a few direction mismatches, deliver very touching performances. However, the game is very short, and this is much more noticeable in a title with less focus on environmental density. The interactions between characters are always fun to listen to, but I felt a lack of interesting environments, and the amount of interactables comes off as limited, for example, some drawers can be opened while others cannot, and the motel chapter is particularly empty.

The art style is novel, mixing 2D drawn character portraits and interactions with fully 3D-rendered surroundings. It looks very good on occasion - Opal meshes fantastically into the driver’s seat during the car sections. However, paired with full voiceover, the lack of thought-out mouth animations constantly tickled my brain in the wrong way. The world also feels a bit barren at times, with strange filters over the windows of the van, overly “cinematic” chapter transition shots, and vast empty fields around the roads and houses. It feels like, with more environmental detail, the game could have looked much more vivid and alive instead of resembling a series of still dioramas. The game sits on the border between a fleshed-out adventure game with corresponding mechanics and a true walking simulator, but it doesn’t fully commit to either, which leaves it feeling underdeveloped in every department.

Open Roads is cozy yet melancholic and tells an endearing coming-of-age story, but it comes with a pretty steep price for such a short experience - especially one that often lacks the environmental depth the developers are known for, alongside a number of noticeable design issues.

Open Roads is a short, story-driven game with a really appealing art style and simple, accessible gameplay. It plays like a point-and-click adventure, and it doesn’t take long to figure out what objects actually matter and what can be ignored. The mechanics are easy, and even the achievements are straightforward, making it a low-effort experience overall.

The game is also very short—about two hours—which honestly felt like the right length. Any longer and it would have overstayed its welcome.

Where the game struggled for me was the storyline. While the focus on the relationship between a mother and her teenage daughter makes sense thematically, the constant arguing and emotional tension became tiring over time. The heavy emphasis on relationship conflict overshadowed the rest of the experience, and instead of feeling impactful, it started to feel repetitive.

Le jeu reste sympa mais l'histoire n'est très intéressante. Ou en tout cas elle est mal racontée. Graphiquement c'est quand même limite en ce qui concerne les dialogues.
C'est dommage parce lors des séances d'exploration, ça reste pas mal. Il y a une ambiance. Mais dés que ça passe en mode dialogues, l'esthétique BD roman graphique des année 80 ne s'intègre pas du tout.

Open Roads is a quiet, story driven road trip about a mother and daughter unpacking family secrets. The writing and voice acting are excellent, and the art style is warm and charming. That said, gameplay is very light mostly walking, looking at objects, and listening to conversations and the whole experience is quite short.

If you’re here for an emotional, cozy narrative and don’t mind minimal interactivity, you’ll enjoy it. If you’re expecting puzzles, choices, or replay value, this may feel a bit too thin.

This was a short game with a great story. It dealt with a mother and her daughter and issues that way too many families deal with these days. It was kinda a sad story at parts but it was also a happy story at the same time.

Worth playing if you are a fan of games with story or just great stories period.

It also brought back memories of road trips. It was a fun road trip to have been on.

Short and simple but really effective and charming.

The VAs absolutely sold it, congrats to them (very satisfying voices to listen to as well).
Visually, the art is really sweet and nicely animated.
Narratively, the dialogue is really engaging, it's really sweet but the characters are also complex, with their own faults and strengths. The red thread of the mother-daughter adventure is simple and intriguing, leaving way for really good character development all the way to the end.

Think of this as an interactive movie, worth a grab for a nice evening.

This is like a solid 5.2/10. It has just enough interesting character work and story progression to angle my thumb just barely above the horizontal, but it's also got extremely cringe dialogue that feels like a 60-year-old's imagining of how a 16-year-old would interact with the world (seriously, who rummages through their mom's laundry just to dish with their friend about how mommy wears a "bedshirt" or whatever she called it lol), and bizarre frame rate issues where no matter what I do, every bit of mouse or controller (I tried both lol) movement is choppy: no matter my frame settings or graphical fidelity choices, the game struggles to keep up.

I had expected more from the Gone Home team, but then I learned that Steve Gaynor is a sack of ♥♥♥♥ and that caused this game's development to get massively screwed over, so I guess I can't be too disappointed. Oh well.

Beautiful short game about reconnecting with loved ones and solving a family mystery. Most of it is just searching for certain items. That little clay bowl reminds me of when I did something like that. I also noticed an Easter Egg in this game that made me giggle as a Mass Effect fan.

The combination of 2D characters in a 3D setting is odd and unique. But the animations of the characters during dialogue gets repetitive quickly. Overall solid game, short but sweet.

The game really resonated with me as someone who is currently going through the various real-world aspects of grief. It also feels like the next step in the walking simulator genre because it introduces animated and fully-voiced characters as part of the experience. Of course, as it is with many games that are trying something new, it isn't always a smooth experience and can be a little rough around the edges at times. Still, it's a touching story and poignant, albeit somewhat short, experience. I would recommend this for fans of Gone Home, Tacoma, and Firewatch.

Well, I finished Open Roads in about an hour and a half, and honestly, I was left pretty disappointed.
The art style is super charming and I liked the overall vibe of the mother&daughter road trip story, how they uncover old family secrets, but it just felt like it ended way too soon.

Right when things started getting interesting, the credits rolled.

Another big issue I had was the voice acting. The performances themselves were good, but the lipsync was totally off most of the time. It’s a dialogue heavy game, so watching the mouths not match the words really pulled me out of it.

クリアまでしっかりいろいろ調べても三時間ほどの「難易度の低い、雰囲気重視の物語重視のアドベンチャーゲーム」なんだけど、アートワークや小物類の作りこみや、親子の会話がとても素晴らしい。基本は母子の会話劇で、死んだおばあちゃんの遺品を整理していたらおばあちゃんに浮気相手がいた？かもしれないという手紙をみつけその謎をときに母子は旅にでるという話。
正直、物語は派手ではなく終始落ち着いた雰囲気があり、物語の真相も「大どんでん返しで予想もつかないストーリー」というわけでもない、ほどよい意外性と爽やかさで終わる。
ティーンエイジャーの進路に悩み、離婚した父親と母親の感情的板挟みに悩む少女の母親との感情的な衝突と和解がストーリーの核なんだろう。
２００３年が舞台で、程よいノスタルジーを感じられる良作。
低予算で出演者も少ないが優れたシナリオの映画を見ている感覚。２Ｄのアメリカンカートゥーンと３Ｄの背景もすばらしくマッチしていて良い作品でした。
あと日本語訳が素晴らしく、まったく違和感ない洋画の字幕感覚でした。
決して派手でない作品だけどおすすめです。

Open Roads didn't take me long to finish, but I liked it as a change to my huge open world games.
Visually it has a bright colour palette and can be quite pretty, with simplistically animated drawings of the two main characters placed over each screen when they talk.
It works surprisingly well, but I do wish they had a bigger budget to animate them more.
It's a story about a 16-year-old girl (you play the teenager) and her mother, and a road trip they take over a couple of days. The game mechanics are simple, and most of the interactions are conversations between them both while they learn about past secrets in their family, mixed with some mild exploring.
It's a slow-paced family tale where the dialogue is beautifully written and entirely realistic. It never feels like a game, but like someone actually lived it and wrote it down.
Oh, and I must say that the voice acting was stellar. Little nuances in every sentence showed how much work the actors put into bringing the characters to life!
If you want a little change of pace, you could do so much worse than this little oddity. :)

😡 Стилистика. Сочетание селлшейдинга и псевдореалистичной графики – сомнительное решение. Игра пытается косить под рисовку диснеевских мультиков еще прошлого века, и делается это только с героями. Окружение же склепано на коленке в Unreal Engine и не радует глаз даже на ультра-настройках.

😡 Сюжет. Здесь и говорить не о чем. Что в графике, что в расследовании – даже первый Life is Strange (который, СПАСИБО БОЛЬШОЕ Dontnod Entertainment
Deck Nine И Feral Interactive что я не могу оставить на нее отзыв в стим как "середнячок"), покажется остросюжетным блокбастером по сравнению с Open Roads.

😡 Квесты. Квесты? Даже не начинайте эту тему. Вся игра сводится к тупому поиску мелких ключей или бумажек, которые сливаются с окружением, словно хамелеоны-недоростки. А поскольку нам дают под управление Тесс всегда от 1 лица в той или иной локации – найти все с первого раза просто физически невозможно. В итоге ты, как идиот, бегаешь вокруг старого трейлера или заброшенного корабля на берегу, не понимая, чего от тебя хочет игра.

[h1] 🫢 ОБЩЕЕ ВПЕЧАТЛЕНИЕ 🫢 [/h1]

Как и сказано выше, Open Roads – это типичный, в худшем смысле этого слова, квест, где лор изложен в письмах и записках (а, как мы знаем, такие идеи всегда сомнительны и зачастую демонстрируют неумение авторов в глубокие истории и проработанный лор). Да и что говорить – тема, ради которой затевалась игра, просто не раскрыта. Снова. Игра обрывается на самом интересном месте, не предлагая ни пищи для размышлений о том, что случилось/случится с героями, ни возможности выбора, как развивать сюжет дальше.

[h1] 🤔 ЗАМЕЧАНИЯ ПОЖЕЛАНИЯ ПРЕДЛОЖЕНИЯ 🤔 [/h1]

Обычно, если что-то по-настоящему хейтят – делают это молча. К плохому продукту же должна быть масса претензий. Open Roads пытается быть чем-то непохожим на типичное интерактивное кино, но справляется с этим крайне плохо. Нужно было больше поработать над характерами Тесс и Опал, и задуматься о других персонажах, а не использовать их только для звонков и записок (одного из которых мы максимум можем услышать по телефону чисто для галочки). И, конечно, над финалом, чтобы действительно история о решении проблем и развитии взаимоотношений имела хоть какой-то смысл.

🤖 Селлшейдинг, а на скриншотах псевдореализм? ➜ Снова, вся серия Life is Strange со своей примитивной, местами, рисовкой, сочетающей тени и блики, справляется с этим лучше, чем Open Roads, где в диалогах у персонажей не открываются рты "в угоду стилистике", сами персонажи выполнены в селлшейдинге а мама героини ВООБЩЕ исчезает, когда нас пускают в исследование от 1 лица. Это просто тупо и топорно.

Не могу сказать, что избегать любой ценой, но если не поиграете, то абсолютно ничего не потеряете. Если вас не впечатляет/впечатляет интерактивное кино как жанр, рассматривайте Open Roads в последнюю очередь, когда уже совсем не во что играть.

Неоднозначные впечатления. Я ожидала большего от этой игры.
Много предметов которые ты просто крутишь-вертишь, но они ни на что не влияют. Я бы назвала это просто иллюстрированной историей-повествованием. Рисовка интересная и приятная, музыкальное сопровождение тоже. Но не больше. Сама игра очень короткая. Каких-то сюжетных поворотов ждать не стоит. Но если хочется просто чего-то спокойного и не запаристого на пару часиков, то вполне себе вариант.
Не могу сказать, что прям рекомендую. Как по мне она не стоит этих денег

Open Roads is a cozy adventure game- there is a little mystery and some curve balls in the story. I think this is a good mother-daughter story. My only real complaint is it's very short; usually Annapurna games have more content-- that said, it has some room for some additional chapters should the devs decide to add some additional content. Great walking sim with pretty art style which gives off cozy nostalgic vibes and tells you that some people are just scumbags in life and you shouldn't get involved with them and that you should be glad where you are right now unless you could live things the worse way. Despite these lessons and game looking nice, the level with the boat bugged out which prevents me from finishing the game, so I had to watch the rest on YouTube. That disappointed me, so remember do objectives one after the another cause you might end up like me.

i bought this when it came out because i heard a tiktoker say it would be similar to a life is strange game. im a huge fan of those, so i was excited. i played the first scene, and the vibes were quite different. specifically, i anticipated the main character to have little thoughts and jokes when inspecting items, and that was noticeably lacking.
after a year, i finally decided to power through that first sequence, and i found myself quite intrigued by the story. while i would've appreciated the previously mentioned LiS-style inspect dialogue, the main character did have her own charm and the interactions with her mother kept me invested. it was well written and the voice acting was very clean. it was nice exploring every area we are given the opportunity to, and im biased by the fact the story was set in michigan. i do wish we had gotten more references to actual places though (like why was the summer house set in such a plains-esque landscape? michigan isnt exactly known for its cowboy aesthetic).
overall, its a decent game. not a must play, id only really recommend picking up on discount, but not bad for what it set out to be.

Многие ругают эту игру, но нам с женой (я геймер, жена -- нет) она понравилась, да, она достаточно простая, но при этом жизненная, причём выражается интересная история про предка на фоне обычной суетной и местами скучной жизни, но вот такие штрихи, которые показывает эта игра, поездки, копание в своей генеалогии, банальное любопытство и выражение его в решительности и действии скрашивает как наши жизни, так и игры, в которые мы играем.

Минус в том, что сам мир детально проработан в письмах и окружение реалистично показано с трехмерной графикой, а сами персонажы плоские и двухмерные и практически не анимированные, что отнимает от правдоподобности в диалогах. Выборы в диалогах также лишние, потому что ни на что не влияют.

Okay, I don’t want to be a hater — I understand that people really tried to make this game. You can feel it while playing, but the game is terrible.

First of all: using hand‑drawn 2D characters in a 3D world turned out to be a bad idea (or badly implemented). It looks inconsistent. It would have been better to use 3D characters in a 3D world. Or to draw the entire world in the same hand‑drawn style as the characters, so that everything fits. The second option would have made the game much more beautiful.

The characters only have a couple of animations, and it plays as if they were animated at 15 fps… (or even less). Once the animation ends, characters continue to talk but stop moving their mouths. I also noticed a slight desync in the voice acting in some scenes.

Throughout the game my mouse froze when I tried to look around — it felt like the game was running at 7 fps, even though the FPS counter was actually over 200.

And finally: there are too many unnecessary objects we’re allowed to interact with… It’s some kind of hell. There are just too many of them, apparently to make the game last longer.

Terebel game.

But the game also has good sides. The voice acting is very good and pleasant. And the drawn characters look nice, even though they’re poorly animated.

"Open Roads" est un jeu narratif de type "walking simulator" vraiment sympa et agréable, parfait pour ceux qui veulent passer un moment de détente sans se prendre la tête !

Pour ma part, j'ai beaucoup aimé cette petite aventure familiale entre Tess Devine et sa mère Opal.
Leur relation mère/fille était intéressante, bien décrite et réaliste, typique de ce qu'on peut vivre entre une adolescente de 16 ans en quête de réponses sur son passé familial et une mère qui traverse une période difficile, entre sa séparation avec son ex-mari, son travail qui ne marche plus aussi bien qu'avant et le récent décès de sa maman.

Suite à cela, j'ai apprécié l'exploration de différents lieux liés au mystère familial concernant les grands-parents de Tess, nous guidant d'un indice à l'autre à travers des lettres ou des objets.
J'ai trouvé les graphismes très beaux, avec une attention particulière aux détails et un bon design des personnages.

Cependant, je dois dire que leurs expressions faciales n'étaient pas toujours à la hauteur et restaient figées, ce qui rendait les scènes peu réalistes lors des dialogues entre la mère et la fille.
C'est le seul point qui m'a dérangé, car tout le reste était réussi, que ce soit l'ambiance sonore relaxante ou le doublage des voix en anglais !

Je trouve que la durée du jeu est un peu trop courte par rapport à son prix de départ (comptez environ trois à quatre heures si vous prenez le temps d'explorer, pas plus !).
Je le recommanderais, mais seulement pendant les promotions, au maximum à dix ou douze euros.

De plus, "Open Roads" est surtout une expérience narrative, un peu comme un téléfilm, plutôt qu'un véritable jeu.
Les choix que vous faites n'ont pas d'impact significatif sur la conclusion de l'histoire, même si cela reste très agréable et plaisant pour passer un bon moment !

Very cozy game. The storyline was very linear, and it is a short game so exploring every little facet is how you get the most reward out of it. The general plot was interesting, and even came with a few little plot twists that I wasn't expecting. За час игры абсолютно ни чем не зацепило, а судя по скриншотам и трейлерам из стим я прошел 1\2 или 1\3 от всей игры...
В целом новелка с блужданием по локи и кучей предметов с воспоминаниями о прошлом. И все бы ничего, но жизнь то у них обычная, ничего необычного... Есть секрет, которая хранила их бабушка, мы отправляемся на его поиск, но вспоминая, что эта обычная семья, конец каким бы он не был, врятли вызовет какие либо эмоции, лично я не привязался ни к кому из героев
Как итог, пройти можно, может вас даже и зацепит, лично мне не нравятся игры, в которых пол игры просто рассказы о прошлом обычной заурядной семьи

I love mystery games and walking sims, and I loved this game! It's kind of in the middle of the two. Not quite as open as a walking sim (you have one location per chapter of the game) but not as boring either since you have your mom to interact with and you're solo in most walking sims. Not quite like mystery/detective games where you'd interview others (besides your mom) and make deductions. You just find more evidence and the mystery pieces together.

Normally I'm a bit turned off by this art style and just prefer a more realistic look, though the art is still beautiful and I don't mean to knock the quality - it's just personal preference - but the voice acting is top notch and brings the two characters to life. I love that you get to make decisions as to how you approach your mom about certain topics. I haven't yet played a second time to know how much of a difference those choices make, if any, but I feel it's worth replaying to find out because of the aforementioned great acting.

The setting is nostalgic if you grew up in the early 2000s, and I can tell the developers leaned into that where they could. It's also a very poignant story about a teenager learning to see her parents, and grandparents, as whole and flawed people instead of heroes on a pedestal as we tend to perceive them as children. We see a mother wrestling with new information of her own and trying to decide how honest to be with her daughter, who is at an age where she can tell the truth is being obfuscated, but not yet one where she can understand why adults might choose to do that. Playing as the daughter definitely took me back to what it felt like to be a teenager.

My only note to the game would be that at 5 hours to finish the story and most achievements (I missed two on the first run), the price might be a little steep. If this game is totally up your street as it was mine, it's worth it, but if you're unsure, I'd wait for a sale. It's worth pointing out that the voice actors are pretty big names, which of course costs money, and 20 bucks for a whole evening of entertainment is still cheaper than a night out.

"Open Roads" to niestety gra mocno przeciętna. Można w nią grać, ale nie znajdziecie tutaj gęstego klimatu i emocji z "The Suicide of Rachel Foster", ani tajemniczego świata z "What Remains Edith Fintch". To nie jest ten poziom i to nie jest taka gra. "Open Roads" nie jest grą fatalna i nie jest katastrofą - nadaj się do grania, ale ma w istocie więcej wad niż zalet, i dlatego daję jej ocenę negatywną. Sytuacji nie ratuje feministyczny kontekst z cienkim aluzjami LGBT (często obecna symbolika tęczowej flagi), które moim zdaniem zostały wplecione do gry trochę na fali pewnej mody na te klimaty, ale nie wnosi nic nowego do rozgrywki i fabuły.

- Bardzo przeciętna oprawa graficzna (nie wiadomo czemu postacie ludzi są lepiej wykonane niż obrazy tła)
- Niektóre fragmenty gry chyba faktycznie obliczone na sztuczne wydłużenie rozgrywki (np. co wnosi do fabuły sekwencja pakowania się dziewczyny zaraz na początku gry)
- Feministyczny kontekst z elementami LGBT (zaliczam to na minus, ponieważ nie wnosi to do gry niczego twórczego)

# Podsumowanie: moim zdaniem gra będzie podobać się tylko najbardziej zagorzałym wielbicielom gatunku "visual novel", ale dla innych graczy może być nudna. Jeśli chcecie poczuć klimat nostalgii za latami 90-tymi proponuję zagrać w starą już, ale ciągle dobrą grę "Virgynia" dostępną na Steam w niskiej cenie. Jak powiedziałem, w "Open Roads" nie ma tragedii, ale wad jest więcej niż zalet. Mimo wszystko, nie polecam.

und eine Leichte Version von Life is strange , sound und Grafik gefällt mir sehr,
Story Kurz aber okay , war dann doch nicht so langweilig wie Anfangs erwartet, aber dennoch nicht Spannend.
Würde es im Sale kaufen , aber 19,99 ist es nicht Wert.

This is a nice short little narrative adventure with some cool plot twists here and there. Gone Home is actually one of my favorite games of all time, so it's really nice to see some of that team continue the legacy of that game. Great job guys, look forward to seeing more from you all.

I really like this genre, but sadly, this game is not fun for me. The story should be interesting, but there are too many boring dialogues and useless 3D models that you pick up and just look at. Also, the mix of 2D cartoonish characters with more realistic (rather than cartoonish) 3D environments breaks the atmosphere a lot.

I loved the game, the story, the drawing style, and the animation were fantastic. However, I found the ending a little underwhelming, in my opinion (without spoiling anything). Even so, I would still recommend the game because I had a lot of fun, and overall, it’s great!

Irgendwo zwischen Walking Simulator und Suchspiel siedelt sich diese tolle Geschichte über eine Mutter-Tochter-Beziehung, einen Roadtrip und ein spannendes Familien Geheimnis an. Die Geschichte war schön erzählt und hat mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Definitiv eine Empfehlung! :D

A rare find. Not top-notch, but near it, definitely worth the buy. Seldom do I find such believable characters, their reactions are appropriate, the dialogue is near-perfect... strong, but fitting personalities.
The gameplay is not too shabby either, careful searching will get you through and the story was great!

It's a very lovely game - a walking simulator that's easy to get into, relaxing, and interesting. I actually liked the art style and the dialogue driven story with "mom". I also enjoyed the 'Gone Home' vibes, however it's definitely not as interactive as it could be, and there were many objects I wanted to select but wasn't able to. In all, this comes well recommended if you like this sort of thing. The game took me 3.9 hours taking my time to ensure I didn't miss anything.

Das Spiel war überraschend kurzweilig und die Schauplätze wirkten sehr heruntergekommen, sodass keine Atmosphäre aufkam. Spannung ist in diesem Game leider Fehlanzeige, da die Story inhaltlich uninteressant und sehr langweilig ist. Es war eines meiner schlechtesten Spiele und deshalb spreche ich hierfür keine Kaufempfehlung aus, da das Spiel keine 3 EUR wert ist.
