В целом игра интересная и необычная, но есть нюансы:
1. Геймплей поначалу максимально недружелюбный - можно было погрузить в него игроков немного плавнее, а по итогу на тебя чуть ли не со старта орёт женщина, пока ты пытаешься успеть прочитать субтитры и понять, что от тебя хотят, параллельно разбираясь, куда нужно нажимать при быстро истекающем таймере.
2. Также не хватает быстрого перемещения по локациям на сфере, особенно под конец, когда на станции темно, хоть глаз выколи, и нужно бродить по лабиринтам туда-сюда, выбесило знатно, хоть и понимаю, что это классическое растягивание игрового времени.
3. Нет ручного сохранения, а автоматическое косячит, у меня так после долгого хождения по лабиринтам появился значок сохранения, а по итогу при следующей игровой сессии пришлось начать вообще издалека, после этого хотелось просто забить на игру.

This game was different in a good way. I've never played a game where you play as a kind of A.I and story-wise it was interesting. The vibe is just creepy and the sci-fi environment is well done. I was intrigued and compelled to know how this would end. There was just this one mission out in space where I didn't know what to do (like it wasn't clear what had to be done) but otherwise the gameplay was cool. I played on steamdeck and it runs well. I recommend it cause this game left an impression on me and I will remember its uniqueness.

ただ一人残された女性クルーのエマ。プレイヤーは彼女を操作する……のではなく、ステーションの統括AIである「S.A.M.（サム）」となり、カメラのレンズ越しに彼女をサポートしながら、この異常事態の真相を探っていく。

『Stories Untold』を手掛けたNo CodeによるSFアドベンチャー。
プレイヤーはAIとして、ステーション内の監視カメラをハッキングして視点を切り替えたり、ドアのロックを解除したり、ノートPCのデータファイルからパスワードを探し出したりしてエマを助ける。
映画『2001年宇宙の旅』や『ゼロ・グラビティ』のような、徹底的にリアルで無機質な宇宙空間の描写が秀逸な作品だ。

[b]「雰囲気とUIの作り込みは100点満点。でも『ゲーム』としてはちょっと窮屈」[/b]

SF映画の金字塔みたいな「あの不気味な静寂」をゲームで完璧に再現している点は本当に素晴らしい。
古いビデオテープのようなノイズや、いかにも業務用といった感じの無骨なシステム画面をいじっているだけで、SF好きならご飯が3杯は食える。「人間ではなくAIの視点からパニック映画を体験する」という発想は天才的だ。

ただ、監視カメラの視点をカチャカチャ切り替えながら進めるシステム上、どうしても「次にどこのカメラを見ればいいのか」「どの端末にアクセスすればいいのか」が分かりづらく、狭いステーション内なのに迷子になりやすい。

さらに中盤から、球体のドローン（スフィア）を操作して無重力空間を飛び回れるようになるのだが、これがまた操作性が悪くて絶望的に酔う。エマから「はやくして！」と急かされながら、ポンコツAIが壁にガンガンぶつかっているシュールな図はちょっと笑えてくる。

ストーリーの結末もかなり難解（クトゥルフ的なコズミックホラー寄り）なので、スッキリとしたエンタメ的なカタルシスを求める人よりは、考察や極上の「宇宙の孤独感」を味わいたい人向けの尖った作品だと言える。

・映画『2001年宇宙の旅』のHAL 9000になれる、唯一無二のプレイスタイルと没入感。
・レトロフューチャー感のあるUIデザインや、カメラのグリッチ（ノイズ）演出が最高にクール。
・宇宙の果てに取り残された絶望感と、少しずつ狂気に向かっていく静かなホラー体験。

【BAD】
・[b]迷子と3D酔い。[/b] ドローン操作時の無重力の挙動がフワフワしており、上下左右が分からなくなってかなり酔いやすい。
・[b]作業感の強いパズル。[/b] 回路を繋いだりパスワードを探したりするミニゲーム的なパズルが頻繁に挟まるため、テンポが削がれる。

What a fascinating descent into madness and old-school sci-fi psychological/eldritch horror.

There are some noclip bugs near the end that do take away from it a bit. It could also have benefitted from some sort of attention grabber (like a colourful post-it on a needed document) for things you need to interact with for those of us who aren't as *observant* as the devs intended.

It's best to go into this expecting an interactive movie rather than a traditional game but overall, I enjoyed my 5-ish hours of this. Would recommend!

Whenever you see a game with a lot of "awards" surrounded by leaves on a branch, you know its going to be a seething pile of 💩 pewp. There are an absolute cargo ship sized pile of these complete BS awards you can get for a game. Ultra slow, tedious "puzzle" solving, etc are necessary noise to keep you from noticing how bad it actually is.

Nach einem mysteriösen Ereignis ist die Station schwer beschädigt, und die Crew scheint verschwunden zu sein - nur Astronautin Emma Fisher ist noch erreichbar. Ziel ist es, mit den Bordcomputern der Station die Systeme wiederherzustellen und herauszufinden, was passiert ist. Das Spiel setzt stark auf Atmosphäre, Story und ungewöhnliche Perspektiven.

Die Story startet mit einem großen Systemausfall auf der Raumstation. S.A.M. fährt neu hoch und stellt fest, dass viele Systeme offline sind und ein Großteil der Crew verschwunden ist. Besonders spannend ist, dass man die Ereignisse ausschließlich aus Sicht einer KI erlebt.

Das Gameplay dreht sich vor allem um das Steuern der Stationssysteme. Man wechselt zwischen Überwachungskameras, öffnet Türen, hackt Terminals und analysiert Daten. Viele Rätsel bestehen darin, Codes zu entschlüsseln, Systeme neu zu starten oder Hinweise auf der Station zu finden. Dadurch fühlt man sich tatsächlich wie die zentrale KI der Station - man beobachtet, analysiert und unterstützt Emma aus der Distanz. Gleichzeitig kann man mit einer kleinen Drohne auch einzelne Bereiche der Station direkt erkunden. Der Fokus liegt aber klar auf Story und Puzzle-Gameplay, nicht auf Action.

[h1]🎛️ Steuerung[/h1]
Die Steuerung ist bewusst ungewöhnlich, weil man nicht als Mensch unterwegs ist. Statt einer Figur bewegt man Kameras oder eine schwebende Drohne durch die Station. Das sorgt für ein sehr eigenes Spielgefühl, kann aber manchmal auch etwas sperrig wirken. Gerade beim Wechsel zwischen Kameras oder beim Navigieren in engen Räumen braucht man manchmal Geduld. Trotzdem passt die Mechanik gut zum Konzept, da man sich wirklich wie ein System und nicht wie eine klassische Spielfigur fühlt.

[h1]💀 Schwierigkeit[/h1]
Die Rätsel sind grundsätzlich machbar, aber nicht immer sofort logisch. Manchmal muss man Hinweise ziemlich genau suchen oder mehrere Systeme kombinieren. Einige Aufgaben können etwas frustig sein, wenn man nicht sofort erkennt, welches Terminal oder welche Kamera relevant ist. Ich muss gestehen, dass ich auch relativ lange im Weltraum mit der Drohne hängen geblieben bin, weil ich nicht wusste wo hin ich musste. Insgesamt bleibt der Schwierigkeitsgrad moderat, solange man aufmerksam bleibt und die Umgebung gut beobachtet. Wer Puzzle-Games mag, wird hier gut klarkommen.

[h1]🎨 Grafik[/h1]
Optisch orientiert sich das Spiel stark an realistischer Raumfahrt-Technologie. Die Raumstation wirkt glaubwürdig, funktional und etwas heruntergekommen - genau so, wie man sich eine echte Orbitalstation vorstellen würde. Viele Interfaces erinnern an industrielle Computeroberflächen statt an futuristische Sci-Fi-Displays. Dadurch entsteht eine sehr immersive Atmosphäre (ein wenig vergleichbar mit „Alien: Isolation“), besonders wenn man durch Kamerabilder oder verrauschte Monitore schaut.

[h1]🎧 Sound / Bildschirmtexte[/h1]
Der Soundtrack setzt stark auf ruhige, bedrohliche Ambient-Klänge. Dazu kommen Funksprüche, Computergeräusche und Warnsignale, die ständig Spannung erzeugen. Besonders die Gespräche mit Emma Fisher tragen viel zur Atmosphäre bei. Bildschirmtexte und Logs liefern zusätzliche Hintergrundinformationen über die Crew und die Mission. Dadurch entfaltet sich die Story Stück für Stück, fast wie ein interaktiver Sci-Fi-Thriller.

[h1]🛠️ Technik / Bugs[/h1]
Technisch läuft das Spiel insgesamt stabil. Größere Bugs sind selten, aber kleinere Kameraprobleme oder etwas hakelige Steuerung können gelegentlich auftreten. Da die Präsentation stark von Interfaces und Kameras abhängt, merkt man kleine technische Unsauberkeiten schneller als in anderen Spielen. Insgesamt bleibt die Technik aber solide.

Grind gibt es praktisch keinen. Das Spiel konzentriert sich komplett auf Story, Exploration und Rätsel. Sammelobjekte oder unnötiges Farming sucht man hier vergeblich.

[h1]⏳ Spielzeit / Umfang[/h1]
Die Kampagne ist relativ kurz. In der Regel braucht man etwa 4 bis 6 Stunden, um die Geschichte komplett durchzuspielen. Ich habe etwas mehr Zeit benötigt, um alle Errungenschaften zu erhalten. Das Erlebnis ist sehr dicht inszeniert und fühlt sich fast wie ein interaktiver Sci-Fi-Film an. Wer gerne atmosphärische Storygames spielt, wird hier trotzdem auf seine Kosten kommen.

[h1]🏆 Errungenschaften / Achievements[/h1]
Die Achievements sind größtenteils an Story-Fortschritt und optionale Entdeckungen gebunden. Viele schaltet man automatisch im Verlauf der Handlung frei. Für 100 % muss man allerdings einige versteckte Details und Logeinträge finden. Leider gibt es auch hier einige verpassbare Errungenschaften. Zudem muss man alle Dokumente (85 Stück), also Erinnerungen, sammeln und die Minigames auf Anhieb schaffen. Mit etwas Aufmerksamkeit lässt sich der Completion-Run in einem Durchgang schaffen; ich empfehle jedoch definitiv einen Guide zu benutzen - habe ich zumindest so gemacht.

„Observation“ ist ein ungewöhnliches Sci-Fi-Adventure, das vor allem durch seine Perspektive überzeugt. Die Idee, eine Raumstations-KI zu spielen, sorgt für ein frisches Gameplay und eine sehr dichte Atmosphäre. Die Story ist spannend und wird durch Logs, Dialoge und visuelle Hinweise clever erzählt. Gleichzeitig können die Rätsel und die manchmal etwas sperrige Steuerung den Spielfluss bremsen. Wer narrative Mystery-Games und Weltraum-Thriller mag, bekommt hier aber ein sehr besonderes Erlebnis.

Ganhei de presente de aniversário e gostei bastante.
É Excelente jogo em geral, focado muito na história e exploração. Fiquei meio confuso no final, mas ainda sim é legal de jogar, por mais que o jogo não ser muito longo.
Fiquei com preguiça de Platinar, mas até que é fácil se você saber o que está fazendo.

Experiencing the story through cameras, systems, and drones gives the game a refreshing perspective and makes you truly feel like the station itself.

The atmosphere and sound design are excellent, and the game builds a strong sense of mystery as strange events slowly unfold. The story keeps you curious about what’s really happening until the end. Some puzzles and interface interactions can feel a bit clunky, and drone navigation can be confusing at times. The game is also fairly short.

В багатьох випадках я не розумів що мені треба робити, а підказки які я намагався запросити у дівчини ні про що не говорять. Без сторонніх гайдів я не зміг пройти гру.

З оптимізацією також біда: більше 74 fps гра не видає в роздільній зтатності 4К при тому що відеокарту навантажує не більше 50%. Налаштування роздільної зтатності рендеру постійно збиваються на менші при кожному запуску гри. Я це помітив, коли після кількох перезапусків гри роздільна здатність опустилась з 4К до 720р.

+ Interesting concept. Kinda cool to play as the AI on a space station
+ Very good intro, the whole set-up was great
+ Visuals are really good, especially when flying around with the sphere in space
+ Atmosphere
+ Story (Can be interpreted in different ways). I finished the game two times and still don't get certain parts of the story but I guess that makes it interesting.
+ Cool collectibles (you can combine them once you found enough for further info, kinda like in Alone in the Dark)

- Lots of blinking, very bright lights and screen tearing that can get annoying after a while, because it happens too often
- Not enough checkpoints. Had to do lots of stuff twice cause the game only saves at certain points. There is no way to manually save the game.
- Some crashes and Emma bugged out at some points in the game (She bugged out in both of my playthroughs)
- You can get lost pretty fast and sometimes it's quite unclear what to do

Feels really fresh, loved the different interfaces, concept and the atmosphere. Some of the cuts and visual choices are very cinematic. Clunky controls are by design and add to the experience. Sometimes you are left with only vague instructions and left to explore and guess the next step or location of interest alone, which really hightens the tension. Unfortunately the plot itselft feels more like a pastiche but at least it keeps things interesting troughout the game. Recommended!

Great game; I one-shot it over 7 hours.

You are an AI on a space station that awakens with fragmented memories after an event takes place and all but a single crew member has disappeared. You must work together to restore the systems and discover what happened.

Very fun. The "Puzzles" are basically technical operations that the AI must complete in order to restore systems and advance the story, and the game gives you all the information you need to accomplish the tasks. A couple of the puzzles took a little bit of thinking but I managed to make it through without any hints.

For those that want to 100% it in one go, I offer this bit of spoiler advice:

[Spoiler] When you first leave the station in the orb, make sure to investigate module 12, otherwise you will miss out on a couple of achievements and you will be unable to go back [/spoiler]

The only complaints I had is that there is no chapter system, so once you hit a save point, you can't go back, and there were some graphical abnormalities that resulted in character models and the First person camera itself clipping through structures and landscape.

Both are minor in comparison to how much entertainment this game brought me.

[*] Playing as an AI is a great idea and the aesthetic of the computer systems and space station interiors are excellent. The atmosphere's great.

[*] The story isn't spoonfed to you and is pretty interesting to work out, and has some turns. The audiologs needed more work to contribute to an atmosphere of things going slowly wrong, rather than all being from before the event.

[*] Unfortunately you're given a camera drone far too quickly, effectively turning several levels into a first person puzzle rather than using the aforementioned interesting perspective to the fullest first.

[*] The space station is very confusingly laid out, with navigational labels that aren't very visible and don't clearly point the way. It needs either more in-universe pointers, or the existing mapping system needs to be able to provide directions.

[*] Similarly the context of what the station's nature and mission is isn't explained up front. The game could really use an intro like System Shock 2's to lay out the station's "baseline" so when you wake up and see everything's gone wrong you have something to contrast against and already have sone basic information.

非常推荐对太空站有情怀的入手，判断标准大致是看2001太空漫游时能不能忍住不按加速键，觉得节奏慢的就云一下算了。
cg慢镜头多，没有跳脸这点很赞，宝宝体质也可以玩。
全程只能慢悠悠找任务目标，完全没法急着帮上忙，确实比较容易代入不带感情波动的AI吧......虽然代入的是一个人工智障。引导少也是解密的一环，只是尝试的过程有点繁琐，优势是交互的体验感很棒。
键鼠反正手感差，还得有迷路后全部重新细细摸索一遍的耐心，剧情和演出又让我原谅了这一点。不知道为什么游戏里默认鼠标速度比外面快，导致我刚上手飞球时晕了3d，调慢后就好了。

Checking this out since this team is working on Silent Hill: Townfall. Great atmosphere that you'd expect from former Alien: Isolation devs and the unique perspective of controlling the ship AI was a great hook. Doesn't overstay its welcome with the shorter runtime. Le jeu n'est pas dénué de bugs, je me suis retrouvé par hasard dans un glitch qui me bloquait indéfiniment, heureusement qu'en rechargeant la partie le jeu n'avais pas sauvegardé.

quite a few of the puzzles are vague and the game isn't exactly jumping to help you
yea it's a space station that has gone some cosmic event I don't except it to be clean and tidy but it is a genuine nightmare to try to find where the hell you're meant to actually go or what random note you're meant to be finding, the 3d movement doesn't help, it just becomes annoying
shoutout to the spacewalk section that took forever cos it tells you to look for a specific thingy on a literal massive space station and it doesn't tell you what it looks like

the story is trying to do something cool and it could work! but the gameplay makes it feel so stop and start and the curtain drops and it doesn't become scary anymore

Не могу в данный момент посоветовать эту игру. Разработчики не удосужились в порте на ПК решить проблему с разрешением экрана - оно постоянно переходит от установленного значения в наименьшее из возможных. Фиксов на это так и не завезли, а те что есть не позволяют запустить игру в принципе. А жаль...

П.с. может быть я не прав и упустил какую-то возможность эту проблему решить. Если так, подскажите, пожалуйста, в комментарии.

如果你对各种几何/UI动画/视觉符号特别喜欢，这款游戏的美术应该很对你胃口
问题是这到底是个什么类型的游戏，制作组相当没想明白要做什么，冲着恐怖游戏来的话，这游戏根本算不上。如果你对空间站模拟各种系统有兴趣，全流程基本就是在转的特别慢摄像头视角和手感巨沉重无比的飞球间切换，然后玩小游戏，也算不上模拟类。
剧情上来说，讲了个中规中矩的宇宙恐怖类型的故事，问题是操作的沉闷和不顺手会在你推进剧情上不停的打断你的游玩节奏，导致沉浸感被打断，正好是这种恐怖类型的致命问题。如果操作稍微顺手那么一点，制作组展现的真实感特别强烈的操作界面/宇宙飞船本应该能带给你十足的沉浸体验，只能说可惜了。

A truly immersive cinematic experience. Very cohesive through and through, time dilated when playing it, even the frustrating moments were a ton of fun. The length is just fine and the puzzles of accessible difficulty. Never played a game as AI before so the trials and tribulations it has to face almost humanized it for me. Which I think is just a matter of time it happens on a large scale anyway :)

Интересные механики, исследование и загадки. Но дальше начинается раскрываться сюжет и это полная жесть. Сны при температуре 40 градусов. Сплошной бред. Sin lugar a dudas, Observation es una fantástica experiencia de ciencia ficción espacial, con una historia muy interesante que sabe como captar la atención desde el principio, construyendo un misterio que se irá desarrollando de una forma pausada pero consistente. El ritmo y la jugabilidad son algo lentos, poniendo el foco en la exploración de la enorme estación y en la resolución de complejos rompecabezas, bien planteados y acordes al contexto. Se trata de un juego oscuro, en ocasiones claustrofóbico, con una ambientación y gráficos muy logrados, que consiguen mantener la tensión del jugador en momentos clave. Los controles han sido cuestionados en varias ocasiones, especialmente el manejo de la esfera, que resulta un poco caótico, pero dado que no necesitamos grandes reflejos ni velocidad, no llega a romper la experiencia. Me ha resultado muy original que el papel “protagonista” recaiga sobre la IA de la estación espacial, en lugar de algún miembro de la tripulación, permitiéndonos vivir la experiencia desde un punto de vista totalmente diferente al que podemos estar acostumbrados. Si te gusta el género y la temática, Observation es un acierto seguro.

I was excited to play and enjoyed the opening bits and getting immersed. Then in the first stress puzzle of the game, I'm trying to activate jets using the controls it is telling me to use and its working like my keyboard WASD are broken. I am irritated I wasted my time and money on a game for PC that couldn't be bothered to have the controls work on the platform they released it on.

This game is a breath of fresh air in the sci-fi genre. To play as the station AI is a great twist and I loved the tense and immersive story. Puzzles could be quite frustrating at times but they were original and kept me hooked. Wish the lore and world‑building carried further by the end, felt like it teased more than it delivered. Still absolutely worth playing if you’re into narrative sci‑fi.

I actually REALLY enjoyed the story, but I can't recommend this game in the state that it's in. The performance is terrible and almost every cutscene/scripted scene was full of issues, e.g. characters flying through walls.

The story was the only thing that kept me going.

Gostei que não respondeu tudo de mão beijada, ficou um mistério pra trás, nem tudo precisa ser explicado, e faz você ficar com uma pulga atrás da orelha.

Observation genuinely surprised me. The gameplay is innovative, i had never experienced a game like this before, and I really enjoyed the concept and how it was implemented. The puzzles are interesting and varied, keeping the experience engaging throughout.

The sound design is excellent and greatly enhances immersion, complemented by very realistic graphics. The art direction and overall aesthetic are also standout elements, feeling very grounded in reality. The story is gripping and mysterious, and it does a great job of pulling the player in.

If I had to suggest something that could have been handled slightly better, it would be the sense of urgency in certain narrative moments. The game often implies that a task is extremely urgent, with threats of death of a character or destruction of the station, but in reality there are no consequences if you take as long as you want. Examples (SPOILERS): [spoiler] putting out a fire quickly should result in a mission failed if delayed; trying to trap a character who is supposedly attempting to escape; or correcting the station’s trajectory to avoid a crash. [/spoiler] These moments create tension in theory, but ultimately feel like placebo, which slightly breaks immersion.

That said, these issues don’t detract much from the overall experience. Observation is a very interesting game and I would definitely recommend it.

This is surely an experience, I absolutely loved the story and the concept. I don't regret buying the game. That being said, there are A LOT of bugs in there, some game breaking. Animations break on characters, events that should trigger that are not. A couple of times, i have been wondering if I was just stupid to not find what to do next, and it was just the game breaking. Sort of breaks the immersion.
The auto save system is not very frequent and I had to reload saves when that happened and I had to replay chunks of the game that i already solved, which is a bit annoying.
With some debugging, that could be a really really solid game. Space horror stuff, cryptic, super ambient, I love that.

This game is a must for all fans of 2001 space Odyssey. The reviews it got here are somewhat underserving. Yes I understand that the playability and fun could be improved. Many times I got stuck and didn't know how to proceed with the task. This game will not hold your hand and I had to google a walkthrough to be able to finish it.
At times the game feels a bit repetitive because the story is not incredible. Don't get me wrong, there are some amazing moments but this game lacks epic characters with epic quotes.
Having that said, the game has unique atmosphere for all cerebral sci fi fans. The graphics are great, the sound is great. If you love sci fi buy it. If you cannot watch 2001 because it's too boring, skip this game.

I bought this a while back but barely got around to playing it. I also got it because of a playthrough IGP did.

What I like?
I REALLY like this storyline. It is unusual and unexpected imo. I did find few parts to be a bit confusing, but just enough that it didn't lose me. I think that there is enough sci-fi to not make it cheesy and it really was enjoyable. I also really like the mini game/puzzles used to get various systems running or reset. I only had to look online for help on about 2-3 of them.

What I don't like?
The navigation of this game is extremely inconsistent. When in camera view, the pan/tilt is sooooo slow sometimes yet other times it's fast. They also have the cameras at different rotations since you are in a space station, but it also was extremely jarring or confusing at times and I constantly found myself getting lost, even in one room. Once you possess the movable orb, it only gets worse. Sometimes I found myself dragging my mouse in a direction 5-10 times just to turn around or look in a direction. I also had an issue on first getting this game running on my laptop since I had to set it to Window 8 compatibility since it would just crash on starting the game from steam.

Overall, I really like this game and recommend it to anyone who is interested in a mystery puzzle game with a sci-fi twist. It's long enough that you get to experience the twists and turns of the story but not too long that you get bored and give up. I think you definitely need to have Google on standby for a few parts of the game that are too confusing to find, but I didn't need a 100% walkthrough either.

В одной из катсцен героиня стала невидимой и просила меня ей помочь, пришлось летать и искать хрен знает что, так как, когда я с ней был рядом, триггер не сработал. (Да, карта в тот момент не работала, а цель задания ясности не давала. И да, она так и не появилась в следующей катсцене, только в послеследующей)

Hay algún que otro bug que me ha hecho reiniciar una zona en concreto y los controles, en especial los de la esfera, son algo toscos, pero la trama es muy interesante. Hay un par o tres de decisiones que cambian un poquito los diálogos y puede que algún que otro logro. Pero es esencialmente lineal. Creo que, al ser un juego cortito, si hubieran potenciado ese lado y [b]sí[/b] hubieran puesto elecciones, sería aún mejor.
Las escenas finales son impactantes y, en general, el juego me ha gustado.

I love the idea of Observation.
The look of the game is great. Sound design is very well done. The look of the space station is fantastic.
The gameplay however is not good.

There were puzzle in this that really made me scratch my head.
I had no idea what some of the puzzles even wanted me to do. Not ashamed to admit I had to look up on how to solve four of them as they weren't explained at all.
Direction is horrible. One very small tooltip is all you get.
There's one part early on that you have to look for someone in space which took me thirty minutes since I had to find someone wearing a white space suit against a white backdrop and the area is rather large.
I they had of made the suit a different color or had bigger letters for the section pieces maybe but everything is so squeezed together I was having a hard time seeing.
FoV is abysmal with no way to change it. I think it's at 45 which started to give me a headache.
I get the idea behind it, but this is a game and people have issues with such a low FoV.
Bumping into walls and items as the sphere is bad. It stuns you for a second but the issue is the screen gets all wibbly wobbly and it happens a lot. You can't look around when it happens so when you get into a vent have fun looking at blackness for a little while.
Camera controls are very bad. Takes too long to move the camera and to zoom in. I would like options to increase the sensitivity.
I got to the ending and the camera bugged out on me so I started going through the geometry instead of the intended path. This game came out what? Seven years ago and this is an issue? Come on man.
Some hatches would disappear completly so it looked like I could go through them when that wasn't the case so it had me really confused as to where the hell I was going. I to look up a video and I saw that their hatches were closed. Great... what a super bug to have.
Ending was... okay. I guess. Heard it was kind of hard to understand but I got the idea behind it.
Wasn't anything to write home about though.
Making one of the crew a "villian" for some reason that wasn't explained very well either.
What exactly was the motiviation? I didn't get it. Maybe I missed a journal or something because it really didn't make any sense to me other then "need a bad guy".

If there was more options and they ironed out the movement and the few bugs I had I would reccomend Observation but as it stands you can do better with your time and money.

Overall I think the story is pretty cool. It does a good job of hiding the mystery and showing how it plays out without ever stopping to explain it, which seems to be the best way to do sci-fi.

Where it falls flat is the gameplay. Sometimes the game will just tell you to do something without doing a good job of conveying where to go, so you are often retracing steps over and over and over again until you stumble across something you missed several time.

The game does an amazing job with its sound, lighting, and visual presentation. The way the International Space Station is portrayed, especially the detailed lighting, feels incredibly well done. I think for people who are simply space lovers, or for those who want to slowly enjoy something that feels more like a movie, this game is a great choice.
That said, at the beginning of the game, I felt a bit confused and uncomfortable with the controls. I’m not sure if it’s just because I’m not used to this type of design, or if the game itself isn’t very friendly in that aspect. Still, the idea inspired by space exploration—using recordings and moving through the spacecraft to search for problems—was actually very interesting and engaging.
In short, the parts that work are really strong and deserve a lot of praise, but the gameplay itself will definitely depend on the player.

This is an aesthetically pleasing game with a lot of cool crunchy analog type visuals and interface systems but is otherwise mostly unfun, and slow paced as a game. Normally that would be excusable for having an interesting story but it's mostly a giant question mark right to the end. If you're playing this expecting a deep story with a satisfactory end don't bother. If you like mystery for the sake of mystery with no actual answer written down, even (I suspect) in the author's own notebook then have at it hoss.

Oh yeah and one last thing, I've never played a game that made a good case for yellow paint and waypoints before now.

Mollato praticamente subito, il gioco non spiega niente, sin dall'inizio ci ritroveremo subito ad affrontare scelte logiche in modo del tutto ansiogene e a tempo, il tutto considerando che il gioco è completamente in inglese e mentre stai giocando devi riuscire a leggere anche i sottotitoli, per capire cosa succede. Un juego espectacular, con una ambientación espacial realmente única. Aunque salió hace unos años, su temática está más de actualidad que nunca. Es una experiencia relativamente corta, sin relleno ni artificios: cada minuto impulsa la historia hacia adelante. El sonido, las voces y los gráficos trabajan en conjunto para crear algo que va más allá de un simple videojuego. Es una propuesta distinta, cuidada y memorable, que se atreve a salirse de lo habitual para ofrecer una experiencia auténticamente especial. Totalmente recomendable.

Gaming wise, I've encountered multiple points that I got stuck wondering what I had to do. Sometimes clues that are necessary to progress completely blended into the background, and I had no choice but to see a walkthrough. This happened multiple times, such as at [spoiler]finding the coolant network schematics. I couldn't notice the half-torn paper on the wall, and I doubt many other would struggle to.[/spoiler]

It had some other awkward points, but nonetheless, I enjoyed the story. Storytelling itself was executed very well to my taste. Even though this my be bad as a game, It is brilliant as a sci-fi horror. Plus I tend to like any story that involves Ais so... I approve of this experience.

TL;DR: Annoyance simulator - the game. Refunded.

I've played "Stories Untold" from this same developer (No Code), which I did like a lot. Then a friend whose recommendations are notoriously good (e.g. Flight of Nova, Rail Route) told me about this game (Observation), so I got it - after some research that insinuated it would conceptually be like Frictional Games' "SOMA", where the story experience is the big value. Supposedly about 5 hours playthrough duration, no replay value other than like with SOMA: You just want to ring that bell again, see that movie again, etc.

Anyway ... now, after playing Observation for about 50 minutes of disabled annoyance, with controls that are turned off but turn on just when the story needs it so that the learned situation is proven wrong by arbitrary means (Hatch suddenly no longer locked, and I'm now expected to open it literally on the count of 3, else I'm the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.), and being shouted at by the human expecting me to do more things - this time ones that I have never seen before, under a time limit, with an input control scheme I've never used in game mechanics that hadn't occurred before, ... and afterwards (Apparently the story just moves on if you fail, which is fine.) I was still locked into zooming around with cameras aimlessly, I decided to no longer suffer this pathetic excuse for gameplay.

Maybe the game gets super rewarding later. Maybe the duration until I would feel fine with the gameplay (Because it changes.) is short. But all I have seen so far shows me that even reading brawl on the Steam forums is more fun than this product. So, no thanks. Hard.

Some details: You play as the station's computer and assist the (So far?) only survivor trying to get around the station and solve problems. You only have access to cameras that you can pan and zoom around, and you see highlighted objects, many of which you can't interact with. E.g. for one laptop, you can hook into the system so that it's later theoretically a thing you could trigger or something. Another laptop: nope - this thing looks the same, is in the same room, but arbitrarily the rules do not apply here.

You open a couple of hatches for the survivor. Some of them, you can not open because they're disabled or locked or something. But then all of a sudden, you're expected to open them, and since there are multiple, when you're browsing around in your head trying to find the right one, the ones that you already know are not for you to operate are obviously bottom of the list. Then the countdown ends and the accusations begin.

Again, the game might be great eventually - I have no idea. But I know with EXTREME prejudice that I don't want to suffer through finding whether that's so.

Прошел Observation примерно за 6–7 часов.

Сначала о хорошем. Геймплей реально свежий. Идея играть за ИИ станции, а не за человека, работает отлично. Камеры, модули, ориентация в пространстве, работа с системами. Да, поначалу непривычно, но потом втягиваешься. Атмосфера космоса и одиночества сделана сильно. В этом плане игра действительно цепляет.

Но дальше начинается главное разочарование.

Сюжет. Он не просто странный или «не для всех», он откровенно не уважает игрока. Игра постоянно делает вид, что твои решения имеют значение. Выборы вроде принятия идентификации Эммы или Джимма, постоянные намеки в духе «не доверяй ему», нагнетание паранойи. Все это выглядит как подготовка к развилке или альтернативным исходам.

По факту же разницы нет вообще никакой. Что бы ты ни выбирал, итог всегда один. Джимм в любом случае погибает, Эмма летит дальше, финал строго зафиксирован. Возникает логичный вопрос: зачем тогда вообще давать эти выборы?

Ответ неприятный. Чтобы создать иллюзию, что от тебя что-то зависит. Ты думаешь, анализируешь, стараешься, а в конце понимаешь, что все твои решения были пустыми. Это ощущается не как художественный прием, а как банальная манипуляция вниманием игрока.

Проблема не в том, что концовка одна. Линейные игры бывают отличными. Проблема в том, что игра притворяется интерактивной в плане сюжета, а потом полностью обесценивает твое участие. Для игры, где ты реально вкладываешь мозг и время в головоломки и анализ, это особенно неприятно.

Итог. Observation хороша по геймплею и атмосфере, но сюжетно оставляет чувство, что тебя просто использовали ради концепта. Если вам важен смысл и ощущение, что ваши действия что-то значат, рекомендовать не могу.

Not quite perfect, but a few adjustments away from it.

I’ve long heard mixed opinions on Observation ever since it released, but they’ve often trended towards the negative. All I really knew going in was that you controlled the HAL 9000 on a spaceship and that people who played it didn’t especially love it. That might be the ideal way to experience anything: clean slate, low expectations.

What’s fortunate for me, then, is the fact that I really enjoyed Observation. With some caveats, of course, but the broader experience was one that I had a lot of fun with. It’s nice getting to relive that Space Station 13 gameplay loop of playing as the ship’s AI and getting yelled at by the /tg/station HoS for not opening doors quickly enough. That's really not much of an exaggeration, either; the bulk of what you'll be doing is opening doors, getting subsystems back online, and helping the onboard personnel attempt to figure out what's going on. Hell, you even get the Ion Laws that'll pop up out of nowhere and rewrite parts of your code, influencing you to act in strange and novel ways. All of this is processed through a lens of cassette-futurist panels and knobs and lossy tape compression, which is an aesthetic that I don't find often hits, but really hits when it does. It's certainly given a bit more of a modern spin than something like Alien in terms of its visual flair; it's shooting for more of a "here's what the ISS would look like if it was launched in 1972". My Alien comparison isn't coming from nowhere either, because the co-founder of No Code was actually the lead UI designer for Alien: Isolation before moving on to this. Go figure. Best to stick with what you know.

I do enjoy the moment to moment gameplay of flicking between stationary cameras, pulling up the map to figure out where certain hubs are located, interfacing with panels and decryption tools to access locked files, and then threading them all together to break through a cipher or gain access to a new subsystem. It can be a pit pixel hunt-y sometimes in a way that I really dislike, and the parts of the game where you're forced to control the camera drone without any map access are so disorienting as to actively make me want to stop playing. I understand that the confusion when you're controlling the drone is kind of the point, but there's far too much taken away from the player that would help to compensate me blindly flying around and hoping that I accidentally stumble into progression. Maps don't work in space, and maps don't work when your core is offline; given that these individual rooms on the ship feel designed to be viewed through the angles given by the static cameras, making me fly through them in first person broadly leaves me with no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idea where I actually am. The yaw seems to work as expected, but applying pitch or roll feel like they add extra movement that you didn't ask for. Pitch your camera upwards and get confused as to what you're looking at until you realize that pitching upward also applied a 90-degree roll, for some reason. This came up often enough for it to be a problem, but I could never figure out how or why it kept happening. I'm mostly just attributing it to "bad controls" and moving on. That might be a dishonest read, and the actual problem lies between screen and chair, but it's my review and its real purpose is to aggrandize myself.

Of course, the gameplay is more of a vehicle by which the story progresses than it is anything else. What's here narratively isn't anything all that new; an AI onboard a spaceship in the near future goes rogue, there's an obvious doppelganger twist that thankfully reveals the conclusion almost as soon as its hinted at, there's a corrupting alien force that seems malicious but might not be. It's hardly anything you haven't seen before. Granted, it's rare for all of these elements to come together at once like this — 2001: A Space Odyssey crashing into Coherence crashing into Arrival — but it's not hard to pick at these elements like toppings off a pizza and see the base story components for what they are. It's all very steadily rolled out, often resolving one plot hook before launching the next, and the real meat is in trying to figure out what the mysterious floating black hexagon a) is, and b) is trying to make you do. "BRING HER" serve as your arc words to latch onto, and while the "HER" in question is obviously the woman who wakes you up at the beginning of the game, the purpose of "BRING"ing her is left in the air from the opening moments until the credits.

I realize as I'm writing this that I haven't really said anything kind about Observation, and that makes me wonder what it is about the game that made me like it so much. No, it's not a novel story, and it's a bit of a headache to play, but it might just be the definition of a work that's more than the sum of its parts. There are a lot of little moments that really make up the bulk of what I enjoy, and they’re peppered throughout at just enough of a regular pace to keep me locked in while also giving me just enough downtime to let them simmer. They’re such small things, too; there’s one sequence where you’re poking around the Russian arm of the ship to find some cameras, and the room you need to go into is suddenly marked with a tag that says “MOVEMENT DETECTED”. There’s basically no attention brought to this aside from a tiny text box sitting next to the room’s icon. There’s no blaring sounds, there’s no glitchy UI, it just tells you that something is moving in there when it was empty just moments before. It’s really good. It’s nice to play a game with horror elements that understands when to let the player scare themselves. The gleaming white walls eventually give way to meat-striped grunge, you’re tasked with locking all of the exits and shutting off life support to kill the captain, someone who definitely died inexplicably comes back, and it all starts to feel like reality is crumbling away. I dig it, especially as a major escalation of what started as a fairly grounded sci-fi plot. SAM sprouts tentacles from his core to kill a human and says “I have changed” in his robot voice and I popped off because it was just so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool. Observation understands creepy robots.

There’s not much to say about Observation besides the fact that it’s good at getting across big moments and small moments with equal amounts of finesse, but it struggles a bit to stick them all together. The gameplay is the glue holding it all in place, so more than a handful of segments being clunky to navigate through hurts the final experience. What’s frustrating — and encouraging, honestly — is that it’s shockingly close to a higher score. Just get rid of the probe. That’s really it. I’d forgive the occasional pixel hunt if they just excised the probe from the game. There’s nothing that the probe does that couldn’t be accomplished with the extant camera fixtures, and it might actually be better for the atmosphere; having something slink around the edge of the frame that gets away before you can move your view to see it would have been a lot better than blindly bonking the probe into every wall of the ship because I couldn’t figure out which way was up. Still, I really do like Observation, and I’m going to have to check out Stories Untold purely off of the momentum from this. This studio seems to know what they’re doing.

No Code might actually make a decent Silent Hill game.

I like this game. It's pretty linear, so you aren't likely to get lost, but you can go back and look for hidden bits of lore if you want. I also like how you're never rushed throughout the game, so you don't need to stress about taking your time through certain sections. I did have to look up how to get past certain parts, but I think the experience makes up for it. If you're in to cosmic horror, this game is for you. It is pretty slow and tedious at times, but its only like 5 hours of total playtime. very cool, mysterious, and worth the money imo.

I have been playing PC games for nearly 3 decades.
I’ll be honest.. I didn’t get this game and by the end I’m not convinced there was anything to get!

The sphere controls are floaty, awkward and frustrating and never really feel good to use. A lot of the puzzles feel like busy work dressed up as “deep” or “clever,” but the payoff just isn’t there.

The game builds mystery for hours and then… doesn’t cash it in. Crew members can be dying, alarms going off, but you have infinite time to solve tasks, which completely kills any sense of urgency or consequence.

There are moments where it looks like it’s building toward something big, but the ending offers no real clarity or reward for the time invested. Interesting idea, weak execution.

If you’re into heavy ambiguity and vibes over answers, maybe it’ll work for you. It didn’t for me!

Observation è un gioco davvero particolare, in cui ci ritroveremo a vestire i panni di SAM, l'intelligenza artificiare a bordo dell'astronave LOSS. Il gameplay è abbastanza semplice e piuttosto lento, qualcuno potrebbe trovarlo frustrante. Nonostante ciò, la storia è ben raccontata e, se la si vuole capire davvero, bisogna esplorare a fondo ogni sezione dell'astronave per capire cosa sia successo. L'ambiente è molto claustrofobico e confusionario (non vi sto a dire quante volte mi son perso), e forza il giocatore ad un'esplorazione continua. Ho apprezzato molto il sound design, specie tutti i suoni alieni. Non è un gioco per tutti, e non è nemmeno troppo lungo: se lo trovate in sconto un pensierino ce lo farei, magari dopo aver visto qualche gameplay

Sehr cooles Spiel, kann ich weiterempfehlen wer auf Sci-Fi steht und auch Zeit zum überlegen und kombinieren hat. Es ist im großen und ganzen ein Rätsel Spiel mit einer kleinen Story über die Mannschaft und dem Geschehen auf der Raumstation.
Im Angebot für ca. 6 € kann man sich hier ungefähr 10 Stunden Spielspaß mit Weltraumkulisse kaufen.

A linear narrative game where you get to play as a near-future space station AI. It does a great job of creating that experience. It feels like you're playing the other side of movies like 2001, Interstellar, Alien, etc. The UI you interact with is gritty and feels authentic.

Generally there is no time pressure, although there are some segments, including right at the start, where you'll need to quickly perform some actions with no real context on what you're supposed to do, which isn't helped by the super clunky controls. The PC port could have been much higher quality, the worst aspect thereof is the heavy mouse input lag that seems to be baked into the game. It probably feels good with a controller, but is awful with an actual mouse. Still, the game was compelling enough for me to persevere through that, all the way to the end.

The plot is decent, but has major threads that you won't receive a full answer to by the end. Clearly the priorty was to be vague and mysterious, more like the plot of 2001 than the plot of Interstellar. This game is begging for multiple endings and branching paths. Make it so you can roleplay the kind of AI you want to be, and experience the concequences, discover more about the wider story. Unfortunately the game was made down to a cost and there's none of that, just one experience.

Still, worth your time if you've always wanted to be one of those AIs in the sci-fi movies

Interesting game, quite cinematic. The gameplay is about finding information, interpreting it and applying it to progress further. There are some puzzles that are not holding your hand but they are all solvable (I didn't need external infos at least). There are no branching story options but you can miss some information and some achievements require you to do specific things - if you want 100 % anyway. The controls are horrible and you will waste a lot of time on navigating the station. Overall not bad but I suggest getting it on a sale. Personally I got something around 8-9 hours of gameplay time out of the title (while wasting a lot of time with the navigation).

Game seems fine in general but one thing that kept me away from enjoying it is messy and unclear system where game doesnt really tell you what u have to do in order to progress and on top of that there are added mechanics unexplained previouslly. In order to figure out what to do i have to watch yt videos because it is not explained in game. Human models are terrible everything from eyes, skin, mouths and hair moves like its from garrys mod. Worst thing is that this game is branded as horror when in-game creators try to scare you mainly with loud noises over and over again and whole plot of something is going on a space station and nobody knows what random malfunctions and crashes, at best make u slightly unsettled. Truelly terrible game i will gladlly refund

Świetny klimat s-f, podejście do tematu, mini gry. Chyba jak każdy miałem problem "co zrobić dalej?" ale nigdy nie byłem na stacji kosmicznej, pewnie stąd tak opornie mi szło.
