A wonderful little turn based exloration game!
But I don't like that you don't see exact level stats on the world map. And the fact that levels come in groups of three, and you can't just pick up a scientist you forgot in zone 1 of the level and quit. You have to redo the whole group.

Nos encontramos ante un aberrante pero encantador intento de revivir el gaming de navecitas con un twist moderno. Los puzzles sí que te hacen rascar la cabeza, y justo cuando crees que lo tienes todo bajo control, el juego te lanza una nueva mecánica para mantener las cosas frescas. Además, esos monstruos que parecen escapedes del laboratorio de un científico loco añaden un toque de hilaridad y caos que no está nada mal.

Aunque la fusión de turnos y tiempo real suena innovadora, a veces se siente como patinar sobre mantequilla—divertido pero descontrolado. There are some cool ideas here but:

1. The colour scheme is low contrast. It's fatiguing to look at and and hard to see what's going on sometimes. Maybe this is supposed to be part of the difficulty curve but either way I don't like it.

2. The cooldown on the heavy attack and the resource required for the special just add a layer of complexity that made the game less fun after awhile. It seems like a game that should be good to jump in and out of for quick bursts but remembering what everything does and how to make best use of it prevents that from being fun.

3. Despite the added mechanics and enemies, the game feels very samey very quickly. Maybe points 1 and 2 are a result of trying to fix this issue but it doesn't help.

Bon jeu, bonnes idées et se renouvelle tout le long.

Le mix temps réel /tour par tour est une bonne trouvaille et est bien exploité. Chaque niveau se joue tranquillement, pas vraiment de challenge mais ca ne me dérange pas car ce qui m'a plu c'est de découvrir les différentes mécanique.
Le visuel et l'ambiance sonore sont sympa sans casser des briques non plus.
Dommage qu'on ne sache pas le nombre de scientifiques qu'il reste a sauver dans chaque niveau.

Je recommande pour les amateurs et amatrices de puzzle /action agréable et pas prise de tëte.

There is something too basic about this game. It takes me back to a simpler time. The controls don't lead to fun gameplay. I liked the colours, art style and the landscapes the player is able to explore, just not enough. The checkpoint restart seems to force the player into repeating levels a little too much. I am not drawn back to this title very much. The controls are just too simple. There is no depth. 4.5/10

地图中岔路口太多太多，经常分不清哪个是主线哪个是支线，导致经常要反反复复找路。

战斗是回合制和即时制的结合，如果这种想法做成动作肉鸽的话，还是蛮有趣的，但做成关卡制，就变得想割草又不能畅快割草，想思考又不能静心思考，玩起来很累，死亡后挫败感很强（不过可能做成肉鸽也有类似的问题）。

Tras unas mecánicas sencillas y un argumento simplón, se esconde un juego hecho con mucho cariño. El diseño de niveles es estupendo, y va incluyendo constantemente nuevas interacciones y mecánicas. Se hace tremendamente entretenido, y la dificultad no es elevada. Los niveles tienen zonas por descubrir, y aunque las debes ir tanteando para conseguir rescatar a los 111 científicos que componían la Nova, el juego es muy lineal. No te obliga a pararte para conseguir algo que te permita avanzar, es agradecido, cuando he repetido un nivel es porque he sentido la necesidad de hacerlo mejor, no porque fuera necesario. El reto para el que lo busque reside en superar los niveles en el mínimo número de movimientos. Al margen de eso, es un juego perfecto para relajarte y disfrutar si te gustan los juegos de puzzles y que no vayan buscando la dificultad.
El juego me ha durado unas 9 horas, yendo despacio, repitiendo niveles, sin buscar la mejor puntuación, sin conseguir todo y con el juego completo.

[h1]First Impressions[/h1]
I've had Nova-111 (N1) in my library since April 2016, and until this point I'd never gotten around to playing it. Wanting to knock out some older titles, I went ahead and installed the game. It's hard to remember after a few years, but I believe what made me want it in the first place was its adequate reviews, and the general sense that it'd be a good puzzle game.

[h1]Gameplay[/h1]
N1 is a bit atypical as far as puzzle games go. You control a spaceship that moves on a grid system, with the general goal of finding stray scientists, but primarily to get to the warp at the end of each area. Instead of being able to see the entire environment and having complicated puzzles based on a strict turn number, it's more exploratory and open-ended. Instead of facing confounding obstacles, you have to face off a certain amount of enemies in each stage. As you obtain new abilities, the enemies get some new tricks of their own.

One of the key dynamics of N1 is that each movement you take progresses one turn, with enemies taking their actions after you do. This essentially means you indirectly control their actions, as their behavior is based on how close you are and whether they can attack or not. Some enemies though are time-based instead, so you'll have to respond quickly, regardless of how many turns it takes, or else you'll be damaged. As you face situations where both enemy types are in the same area, you have to think on your feet to figure out the best way of handling the problem. Unfortunately, there's not enough variance in the types of enemies and situations you encounter for this not to feel a bit stale by the game's end.

[h1]Controls[/h1]
You can play N1 with either a keyboard or controller, and I went with a controller myself. Due to the game's mechanics, you can remain in place and advance a turn in order to manipulate enemy behavior. There's a few abilities you'll unlock over time, and they're all easy enough to activate when you need them. FYI, if you hit the 'select' button, it'll bring up a map. I wasn't aware of that at all during my playthrough.

[h1]Story[/h1]
Although there's quite a bit of dialogue in the game, the story of N1 isn't that clear. There was some kind of experiment involving space-time that went predictably awry, it led to all of these strange circumstances occurring, and you are piloting a ship to save a bunch of scientists. However, it doesn't indicate who you are, as you're completely unnamed or unspecified, so it's not clear how you fall into the big picture, in spite of your incredibly vital role. Even when it's all over, there's no indication that things returned to normal, so I have no idea how it all turned out in the end.

[h1]Graphics[/h1]
Even though the game is composed of a grid-based system, the tiles you move around on aren't just a repeating pattern of the same blocks over and over. Instead, these seem to be translucent, as you see a background with different gradients based on which part of the game you're in. This creates a much more interesting environment to look at, which worked just fine as it was always clear where the tiles I could move around were. I never got confused by the dimensions of how much space the next square would take up or mistook a wall for a place to move.

[h1]Sound Design[/h1]
Most of the music in N1 is mellow, which is appropriate for a puzzle game. I'd say it has somewhat of a unique flair, as it doesn't seem to use typical instruments for its basis, though I wouldn't be able to pinpoint what was used to compose the songs. Either way, I find the track enjoyable and relaxing. The sound effects are fairly straightforward, as there's only a few actions that require a sound effect, such as smacking into walls and enemies.

[h1]Pros[/h1]
🌟 After beating the game, you unlock [b]New Game +[/b] which opens up several options you can toggle on or off. For instance, having unlimited polygel and science, so this would be a good opportunity to aim for achievements. However, you'd have to play the game over again from scratch.
🌟 With new abilities and health upgrades to unlock, there is a sense of progression in the game.
🌟 I found the audio/visual design of N1 to be a strong point of the game.

[h1]Cons[/h1]
❌ Most of the game is too simple to be that interesting. The situations and puzzles you encounter usually aren't that difficult to figure out, they're just time consuming. The most fun I had was with the last two bosses, which actually made me pay more attention and think out what to do. Otherwise, I basically went on auto-pilot.
❌ Each stage is made up of multiple sections, which makes replaying them a huge pain. I don't want to slog through so many areas just to find one missing scientist. There's no reason stages shouldn't have been broken up more.
❌ I understand the point of an idiot sidekick, but I found Dr. Science to be utterly pathetic. I really have to wonder how he got involved with this matter to begin with.

[h1]Tips[/h1]
🔍 Unless you're trying to get a high ranking on the leaderboard, there's no rush in approaching the obstacles you encounter. Slow and steady is usually the best policy, except in a few instances where enemies rush you, or you have to flee from waves of fire.
🔍 Enemies behave very consistently, so once you figure out appropriate ways to handle them, you'll always know how to address them again.

[h1]Final Thoughts[/h1]
N1 didn't play quite how I expected it to from the trailer, but it still had an interesting control scheme and mechanics. Based on how long it took to complete, I was surprised when I saw that there were only 18 stages in total, across 3 worlds. This is misleading though, as each stage is comprised of multiple areas, so it really plays out more like there's around 30-40 stages.

However, due to some of the design choices, I find that N1 was a let down and more of a game to grind through than enjoy. Having shorter levels with more involved and interesting obstacles to navigate would make for a better experience. It would also make replaying stages quicker and easier. Though I find the options available in [b]New Game +[/b] interesting, by this point I have no desire to test them out and keep playing. With everything in mind, I can't recommend this game.

Starting with this opening alone I found Nova-111 a difficult topic to broach. Not because it's bad, far from it actually, but more because it seems like such an interesting shape-defying title to be pigeon holed the way many games get today. What at first seems like a turn-based roguelike meets strategy quickly introduces real-time elements you're forced to react to. Result is this anomaly where two different schools of thought interact while you only have turn-based tools to respond and it can get quite tense at times. You're slowly eased from “take your time, enemies react to your moves” to “oh god, why is everything on fire?” as you approach the finale and it's a well executed build-up.

Getting into specifics – you control this small utility machine and quickly surmise, from what your Dr. Science mentor keeps telling you, that something has gone horribly wrong and it's up to you to fix space time or whatnot. I found the entire thing to air on more humorous side of things with every scientist you rescue sharing a funny quote with you or outright delving into reference and meme territory. Game still retains sense of gravitas to convey the notion this is, in fact, serious as you see everything going crazy whether you're in ruins of your lab or nowhere in time. While three worlds each with six levels may seem short the looks between them are definitely unique visually to stand apart and game settles into gradually introducing new enemy types and powers for you to play with. Approach to treating bosses as half-puzzles, half-fights was also the correct way to go considering you're navigating around enemies as much as levels throughout the entire game as you wait for cooldowns and Science meter to refill so you can unleash attacks.

Soft colors and pleasing 2D visuals were a correct decision in this case and game is extremely inviting as a result. Three tilesets employed look otherworldly and go well with oddly ethereal soundtrack, which does admittedly get overwhelmed by all the sound effects when things heat up.

Fantastic little game. The real-time and turn-based mechanics combine in super weird and interesting ways. It's marketed as a strategy game here on Steam, but it has some strong puzzly qualities to it as well--it's full of little pockets of space which function as closed puzzle systems you have to pick apart and solve.

I played it years ago, when it first came out, and I still find myself thinking about it. Great audio, cute animations, and some fun twists. A rewarding use of my time for sure! I think it deserved better than it got, and if there was ever a follow-up or a sequel, I'd play it for sure.

Although I'm not working off of a score system for this quick review, all elements make this a very enjoyable game.
Gameplay: great
Music: catchy (could use longer loops, but the short-style matches the game well)
Easy to play and new concepts are introduced as needed, in comical fashion. Good humor throughout.
Suitable for Big Picture mode.
Get it, play it, enjoy it and then go back and challenge yourself to a better time or even a perfect run.

I think this is possibly the most underrated game in my Steam library. The gimmick of fusing turn-based and real time play is an excellent one, and I think they did a really good job of exploring ways to mix the two.

Often it can be played akin to a turn based dungeon crawler, but the enemies, bullets and environmental hazards that move in real time add a bit of pressure and force you to move quickly. It's not dissimilar to Crypt of the NecroDancer in that sense; enemies have attack patterns that aren't too hard to learn, but the gimmick means you can't always take your time and can be forced into mistakes. The time pressure is lower here though and combat is quite tactical as you use the environment or other enemies' attacks against your foes. Individual enemies are easy to handle once you know how, but in varied combinations they're more interesting to fight.

There are also plenty of puzzles to solve, which aren't too challenging but still pleasant and imaginative. If you want a little more challenge, there are secret collectables hidden throughout. I also enjoyed trying to beat the levels in as few moves as possible, and there are leaderboards for that.

The game is at its weakest in the later levels. Where a game more confident in itself and the player would have continued to explore its established mechanics in harder configurations, Nova-111 seems to want to keep introducing new mechanics. The third and final world throws in a new twist[spoiler] where regions of the grid are frozen in time[/spoiler]. It's an interesting idea, but I didn't feel it was utilised as well as earlier mechanics. It doesn't stop being enjoyable here, it's just that the level design isn't as strong as it was earlier in the game. Even the art style is worse.

There's also the fact that levels are broken into blocks of three that you're forced to play together, an odd decision that becomes quite annoying when you're replaying to find collectables.

Those two issues aside, this is a great game that I'd heartily recommend.

An unamusing game with better-than-average visuals for a platformer.

You play some sort of ship that bumps into objects in order to remove them from the playing field and occasionally you rescue scientists, which really doesn't do anything other than give you a short piece of text. There are different types of enemies and environmental dangers you must work around.

You'll be graded at the end of each map and your grade will depend on how many tuns you've used to complete the map.

Nice visuals, repetitive gameplay.

I'm going through and playing some games from my backlog. This game isn't bad, but I can't recommend it. After dying my last run I felt little desire to continue and wanted to just move onto something else.

The game is a mix of turn based and real time. For some enemies there is a technique to counter them, and for others it seems like perhaps it's more like a game of retreat and recharge the guns/shields, or lure them under stalactites to drop on them. It is possible to use enemies against each other in crossfire. Sometimes you'll walk into a bad situation blindly and that will kill you which is frustrating require a level restart. It also seems at a certain point several different enemies get introduced at once before I've learned their mechanics.

Also, you have to complete several levels in a row before reaching a save point, so be prepared to replay several in a row in that event. That discourages me from continuing also because it means replaying levels again unless I always stop at the end of a world. Anyhow, it's not a bad game, but it's not calling me back, especially to replay the last few levels again before I get to something new.

A really nice aesthetic and an interesting idea, which is let down by the game just not having a fun core mechanic and the principles of game design not really being thought about.
You reveal the map a few spaces in advance of your position but this only really serves to trick the player into heading into a situation that kills them, every now and then, in a mildly annoying, unavoidable death. Enemies are simple and just trade blows with you, there is no 'rock, paper, scissors' balance to the combat and the levels, whilst they do hide items, don't encourage exploration with visual or audio feedback and there's no clue until after the mission, as to how many secrets are in the level, so the only encouragement to explore a level, is if the player has an urge to return to a level, which doesn't differentiate itself from the others in the area, with interesting layouts or anything like that.
Overall, it just isn't worth playing. Again, though, big props to the graphic designers who worked on the game, as that part is really well executed.

そして初見殺しギリギリのトラップが出迎えてくれる場所もある
パズルゲー初心者なら死ぬが、パズルゲーを複数こなしてる人にはぬるい？かも・・

途中から制限時間５秒のパズルを押し付けられるイメージが多分無難な説明の気がするっぱ(*p'Θ'q)ｩﾝ

[気になること]
他の方もぼやいていますが、「日本語」をライブラリのプロパティから選べるけど「日本語表示」には、なりません。
フォーラム側でその事柄や日本語を再実装や日本語削除の経緯の文書が自分では見つけられなかったので詳しくは不明。
数日前にプロパティには日本語が残ってるけどこれはなんですか？と投稿したけど現時点返事なし。

ともあれ、[b] 「色の濃い文字」[/b]の単語が読めるならば大体のヒントは問題なく理解できるはず。
遊ぶ分にはだいたい問題ないと思うのでセール時にいかがだろうっぱか？

Uniquement solo, Nova-111 est plutôt original et difficile à classer : entre le plateformer et le puzzle-game au tour par tour (avec quelques actions en temps réel).

Super dépaysant et au style graphique agréable, le jeu est sympa pour se changer les idées et sortir des standards habituels.

Pour les défauts :
- La durée de vie est un peu courte : environ 10h et aucune rejouabilité, je ne vois d'ailleurs pas pourquoi ce jeu est classé dans les rogue-like !
- On aurait apprécié des décors plus variés (tout juste 3).

Pour le prix, c'est plus qu'honnête !

[h1] Nova-111 – покроковий гібрид від Funktronic Labs [/h1]

Nova-111 була розроблена кількома молодими розробниками зі студії Funktronic Labs, що базується в Каліфорнії. У реліз гра вийшла 25 серпня 2015 року, і з того часу минуло вже чимало часу, але її й досі критикують. Спойлер: критикувати справді є за що, далі розберемося.

[*] Гра являє собою пригодницький проєкт з елементами покрокової стратегії – ми літаємо локаціями, знищуємо ворогів, розв’язуємо нескладні головоломки й шукаємо секрети. Пересуваєтеся ви по клітинках, як у стратегії, так само рухаються й ваші вороги, а от оточення існує в реальному часі та не залежить від ваших ходів. Спочатку це виглядає круто, коли вороги не створюють справжнього виклику й особливо думати не доводиться. Але згодом, коли гра ускладнюється і вам доводиться на швидкість виконувати певні дії, усе це починає набридати.

Десь до третини проходження в грі все чудово: з’являються нові вороги, нові вміння, хочеться експериментувати, але фінал настільки затягнутий і нецікавий, що гру просто хочеться видалити. На цьому етапі Nova-111 уже не викликає жодних емоцій, окрім роздратування.

Усе було б не так погано, але тактику доводиться вибудовувати на, по суті, однакових рівнях. Кожен рівень схожий на попередній, змінюється хіба що якийсь камінь чи тип ворога – і на цьому все. Лише ближче до середини гри локації стають об’ємнішими й цікавішими, тому якщо ви не змусите себе це пережити, як це зробив я, то у вас з Nova-111 нічого не вийде.

Дратує й нав’язливий пошук «колекційних» учених. Вони не потрібні як важливий елемент геймплею, але Nova-111 буквально змушує вас збирати їх: «Ви не отримаєте нову спецздатність, якщо не зберете ще 20 учених» – ну це ж відверта нісенітниця.

[*] До графічного стилю та звукового супроводу в мене взагалі немає запитань. Стиль стриманий, немає різкого контрасту між рівнями, як і відчуття, що гру робили «ривками». Напевно, це єдине, до чого в мене немає жодних претензій.

Вердикт:[i] не хороша, але й не відверто погана гра. У Nova-111 є цікаві ідеї та приємна картинка, які так і не довели до розуму. Варто було б розробникам витратити більше часу на вдосконалення свого дітища – і, можливо, вийшла б цукерка. А зараз ми маємо шматок картону в обгортці.[/i]

Оцінка:[b] 6.3/10[/b]. Сухо, нудно, але грати можна.

Nova-111 is turn based 2D puzzle game where you control some ship moving around a puzzle maze/grid collecting scientists and negotiating obstacles (boulders and enemies you "bump" into to kill) to reach the exit.

While the game is modestly well polished, the gameplay just isn't fun. Also, there's some bugs in the game (somehow it stopped responding to any direction control but right, which rendered the game unplayable so I had to restart). Fixing the bugs in the game might help, but overall it's just not fun. I can't recommend anyone pays $9 for mediocrity, even if it's well polished (but still buggy).

评价：（1）画风好，但略显单调。飞船不够细节，有皮肤就好了。

（3）操作容易上手，打怪需要手速。但是是否可以施放技能时的提示不是很到位，可能注意力比较集中在躲避怪物操作吧。

[i]Nova-111[/i] is a very addicting game that hooks you with its simplicity but also with the evolution of gameplay the further you progress, increasing its intricacy and challenges that consistently makes you not want to stop playing with how fun the game can be. There is a good balance throughout the game with regards to difficulty, the game is the definition of easy to pick up and play but hard to master, which is where a lot of the appeal seems to stem from. You can simply go through levels and aim for the end fighting off enemies that block your path, but you can add an additional layer of challenge to do it in as few turns as possible to increase your chances of getting higher on the global leaderboard.

The artstyle the game has is pleasant and well done and is an overall good art style to go with regarding the cartoony style. It's easy on the eyes and just nice to look at overall. The only complaint that I'd have about the art style is that it was sometimes diffiicult to distinguish which areas I could move onto and which parts I couldn't and I'd just end up colliding with it and missing a turn, making my score get higher.

Overall, I feel most of you will get your money's worth for the amount of enjoyment that's on offer in [i]Nova-111.[/i]

Идея добавить в пошаговый рогалик компоненту реального времени - отличная. Играется здорово.
Реализация тоже неплоха. Есть своеобразная сюжетная прокачка: вы будете находить новые способности и увеличивать максимальные значения энергии и здоровья.
Единственная претензия - сюжет + внешний вид. Они не то, чтобы плохие, но совершенно стерильно унылые.
В целом - очень приятный опыт. До конца проходить игру я, конечно, не буду.

Twitter経由で開発に連絡をして「日本語」が含まれていないことを伝えました。
確認をしていただき、原因は不明ですが「日本語対応に問題があるので、対応しないように設定します」とのことで、日本語対応の記載がなくなりました。
今後対応するかどうかは不明ですが、翻訳はされていたみたいなので、対応してほしいですね。

日本語対応を記載している以上きちんと対応すべきだし、対応しないのであれば記載を止めるべきです。

せっかくゲームが面白くてもこういう不誠実さで全てが台無しになるかと思います。

Nova-111 isn't a bad game, but I feel like it is way too diluted in both mechanics and level design. It constantly introduces new mechanics before getting to the real meat of its previous mechanics. They show a cool trick or two, and then introduce something else that makes the previous mechanic redundant. I also don't think the the real-time element served the game, really? It was something cool for the game's pitch, but the implementation didn't really go anywhere.

So, the part that I really like: the enemies. Each enemy is pretty unique and has a few different ways you can tackle them. This is my favourite part of the game. First, learning about their patterns and figuring out how to deal with them without tacking damage, with the fewest amount of moves, "energy", etc. Second, to see them being used in puzzles and sometimes in surprising ways. So far, so good. This core of the game is very good.

The problem is the overarching level design (so like, not the specific bits of levels design and minipuzzles, but the way they fit together with the primary and secondary objectives).
The main objective of the game is simply to reach the exit.
Then, there are scientists hidden around the levels for you to find and collect, if you want. There are also health upgrades similarly hidden.
Finally, there are the leaderboard for time and turns taken, separately.

The first problem is that each "level" is actually 3 levels. Actually separate levels. You need to complete all 3 in one go. If you die, you respawn in the current of the 3 sub-levels, but not if you quit the game. I don't understand this decision? I mean, they're actually separate levels. You can't travel from one to the other. You can't influence sub-level X from sub-level Y in any way. So... why?

The second problem, and aggravated by the first, is that you only see the results (% of scientists/secrets) at the end of all 3 sub-levels. You won't know if you missed anything before.

Then, there's the conflict between exploring and speedrunning. The game, from the start, ranks your performance in terms of time. Which goes against the whole exploration thing.

Then, there's the fact the levels are rather confusing, even unelegant? In many puzzle games, you have a small level that you can focus on, retry to get a better solution, look at the whole level to figure things out, etc. In here, each sub-level is a bunch of confusing paths between mini-puzzles that aren't really that satisfying. And optimizing for time/turns isn't really an option before you can even know what you're dealing with. The game has a very distracting fog-of-war kind of thing. I don't think it adds anything but noise to the experience, as it was never really used as a puzzle element (actually, there are 2 fogs of war: one permanent, which can be useful to identify untravelled paths; one temporary that act as a kind of line-of-sight - the confusing one).

The biggest problem, for me, is that even if the individual puzzle pieces were interesting, the way they're connected was one. Even if it would have been great to figure out the optimal path for each of these small segment, the game's structure was directly against this idea by having big levels that you HAD to explore (really, often multiple paths that you don't really know where they lead or why).
These puzzle segments were also not very interesting just to complete, either. I was just going through the motions, because it was impossible to focus anywhere.

Some of the secrets are the most interesting parts of the game, because they use a "twist" on the mechanics, a suprising use of your tools, to get to. The problem is that the game also used a lot of non-obvious "one-way paths". While you're happily exploring, you choose the wrong path once and you can't go back to explore the other one - oops, now you have to restart the whole thing.
This is made worse by the fact that sometimes the correct path isn't in a straight line. So you may see a scientist, but don't know how to reach. Then, you try going around, only to find yourself unable to go back.

There are many things like this in the game.

I'm mostly rambling. But the game was very confusing, to me, which is reflected in the writing. It's not an elegant puzzle game. It's a game made up of possibly elegant pieces haphazardly arranged as to destroy that elegance.

I enjoyed the first world. After that, the game lost my attention. I still played to completion, but I wasn't enjoying it, and the game didn't become any better - on the contrary. All these gripes became more and more common as the game went one.

Oh, I forgot to add: many of the secrets rely on fake walls. So, despite encouraging speed and efficiency, the game also wants you to bang against every walls for a potential secret.

Conclusion: levels are too big, making it almost impossible to play efficiently the first time through, preventing efficiency. It often prevents you from backtracking, preventing exploration. Just playing the game to reach the end of the level is also not very interesting.
Great potential, I just feel that almost design decision conflicts with another and ends up dragging the game down a lot.

Turn-based crossed with real-time. At this time I am unware of any game existing that has this same mechainc, and it does an alright job of it.

The game starts up and immediately throws you in. The sudden loud music of the title screen only is very startling and there is no volume control, only on/off (same with sound however isn't deafening). Rest of the music is more easy on the ears.

I'm about 2/3rds in and I'm rather torn of a few things.

The level design is alright but is hard to tell what's part of the background and what is an obsticle. There are secrets you need to discover for scientists or health boosts and at times it may be easy to tell if there's a possible secret behind a wall or not.

You aren't given a counter in mid-level of how many scientists there are until you complete the area, which will tell you your total time, turns #'s, secrets and scientists found seperately.

Only way to access the options is when you're in an area AFTER the world map. Also the only effective way to quit the game, otherwise it's (via ESC) Title Screen > Exit.

There is a scientist buddy that comes along with you and talks frequently, but is very easy to ignore and pay little to no attention to him, even if he's giving advice or tips. That could be my impatients as it's not difficult to understand the controls (arrow keys/WASD, 1-3, ctrl to pass a turn or stall, etc.), initial and additional, as you progress in the game; controls are pretty bare basic as they can be.

There is a boss fight at the end of each world, and (so far) one requires a different way than ramming to defeat it.

There are moments you have to react fast while others you have to pause and think of how to get out of a bad situation with the least amount of damage taken.

Unfortauntly, I'm not having fun but I'm not having an awful time either. It's pretty mellow and calm for me.

The game works as it is intended, not noticing any technical issues on my end, controls are responsive, no crashes. There was one time (and this is by pure accident) I couldn't make a move of any kind. A monster was stuck in an air tunnel unable to exit due to a turn-based monster blocking it, so the turn couldn't end. I had to restart the level and make sure I didn't make that same mistake again. Unsure if level design flaw, coding, or what have you, but so far has only happened ONCE.

I would wait for a sale, between 25%-50% off, if you want this game. $9 is asking too much for me after playing 4 hours of it and getting through 2/3rds of it at the time of writing this with little difficulty.

Excellent petit jeu casual de puzzle qui mêle temps réel et tour par tour.
Bien que ce n'est pas un roguelike, il me rappelle beaucoup Crypt of The NecroDancer mais sans la difficulté, l'aspect rythmique ni aléatoire.

Des levels designs brillant où chaque mécanique est introduite séquentiellement sans jamais sembler complexe ni ralentir le rythme initial du jeu.

J'aurais souhaité un peu plus d'histoire possiblement, mais pour ce qui compte vraiment : gameplay, exploration et level design, du béton.

À noter cependant que le jeu m'a pris 3h à compléter, donc à vous de décider à quel prix sauter dessus!

Крайне унылая игра. Заставлял себя ее проходить. Физически и психологически. Главная причина унылости это геймплей. Скрестив топ-даун пошаговость и реал-тайм паззл сделали какую-то неопределенную массу. И ведь не зря в этой игре напарник-болтун шутит про огурцы и понос. Это как раз про эту игру.
Задумка хороша. Сюжет тут почти про как в "Quantum Break". То есть про поломанное время в результате эксперимента. Когда стали появляться зоны без времени.
Была бы игра короткая и чуток более разнообразная, можно было поставить 6,5 баллов. А так всего лишь 5/10.

P.S. Обзор скорее нейтральный. Но поскольку тут нет как на Кинопоиске, то так. Играть можно но кайфа будет немного.

“简单的说就是全家（科学家）一起做了个科学实验，宇宙级的，然后大爆炸了，科学家全部丢失，你先修好飞船；
然后驾驶着飞船在这个陌生的奇异星球探索并寻找那些科学家……”
飞船有模组（技能），不同的模组（技能）有不同的效果，针对不同的环境情况和敌人。
熟练地对模组进行组合使用是快速无伤通关的有效方式
游戏的玩法易于上手难于精通，因为后面关卡的敌人多样性，需要好好想策略。
另外每一个大关卡都有隐藏区域，寻找隐藏区域可以获得加成（血上限）

游戏的缺点也很明显，游戏就是一款休闲的小游戏；
而且是一款即时回合制的略带解谜的冒险小游戏；
完全可以忽略剧情的小游戏；
游戏虽然关卡众多（大关卡下小关卡），但是关卡的实际内容都是大相径庭的；
所以当你玩一个多小时后，会发现，这游戏就这样了啊……

To preface this, I won this on steamgifts.com.

So this is a fairly simple puzzle game, it has a great balance of trying to push you to make a decision and letting you take your time to figure it out. To me if fits the bill as a good basic puzzle game. The puzzles have been seen time and time again, but what freshens up this game is the turn based vs. real time mechanics. A good portion of puzzle are based around the interplay between turn based and real time mechanics. I found it controlled great, even though I did have some issues with the UI and menu selection. WHY CAN'T I JUST CLICK WITH MY MOUSE!?!? Bah... I think this might be because it might be a port from another gaming system.

The game is split into levels and each level has a few different sections that builds on the previous levels puzzles and knowledge, which really helps ramp up the difficulty as you gain skills in the game. It ranks you as you complete levels in time, turns, scientists saved, and secrets found. I think this for me would be way to hard to complete all the achievements, as one of them is to complete the game without taking damage. I would just run into something and get so frustrated. Anyways, the art style is fun and interesting. Overall, it performs well and I would recommend this only to people who really like puzzle games. It went into the common class of games at a 3/5.

[h1]РАЗБОР ИГРЫ[/h1]

В начале у игры на самом деле всё отлично. Правда от песочных камней первого мира начинает тошнить уже на втором уровне. Но постоянно пополняемый бестиарий врагов, их изучение и сражение с ними по-своему веселят. Особенно когда нападают разные враги и начинаешь не столько стараться не попасть под удар, сколько подставлять врагов друг против друга.

По пути попадаются несложные головоломки, а корабль постепенно разрастается новыми свойствами.
Сначала научится стрелять лучом, после телепортироваться недалеко и под конец даже останавливать время.
Всё это вполне хитро можно использовать в бою и необходимо для головоломок.

Кажется, наращивай игра сложность, вводи более интересных врагов, комбинируй их в ужасных сочетаниях и всё это на разных аренах со своими тонкостями и игра выйдет в отличную пошаговую головоломку.
Но начиная с середины игры, если не раньше, все хорошее в игре перечёркивается. В бои вводятся элементы реального времени, когда уже не важно как умно ты ходишь, главное как быстро.

Уровни начинают строиться с каким-то пофигизмом и словно случайным образом - один не отличим от другого в рамках одного мира (коих тут всего три) Дизайн при этом хромает на обе ноги.
Музыкальное сопровождение абсолютно безынтересное: что-то пиликает на фоне и ладно.
Загадки одинаковые и абсолютно не сложные. Стычки с врагами чаще всего просто пробегаются мимо с остановленным временем.
Даже разработчики, словно понимая, что с середины всем будет скучно, строят уровни так, что достаточно просто куда-то идти и дойдешь до финала.

Мотивации поиска ученых и секретов абсолютно нет. Первые только ради статистики, вторые для ненужных улучшений корабля (проиграть игре можно только если уж совсем наугад нажимать кнопки).
Между уровней нас встретят три абсолютно безынтересных босса, которые убиваются на раз-два.

Всё это безобразие на фоне комментариев нашего коллеги ученого, "остроумие" которого даже фанатам шоу на ТНТ покажется слишком плоским.

Постгейма, как такового, нет. Можно пробежать все уровни заново в поисках не найденных ученых и секретов, но это что-то из категории "Мазохизм за 300"

Nova-111 is an excellent puzzle game with some really fun innovations to a pretty stale genre. If you like old-school 2D puzzle games like Adventures of Lolo, then this is for you. At first, Nova-111 seems like a typical turn-based puzzle game on a grid. But quickly you learn that some elements in the environment are in realtime. For example, you have to juggle turn-based enemies with realtime laser turrets. This makes for some very fun maneuvering. At first, all your ship can do is bash into enemies, but as the game progresses you gain some additional abilities like a smart bomb and a teleport gun that lets you move two squares in one turn. (And more powers that are better left a surprise.) Overall the game is not very difficult but if you want to save every scientist and find every secret area (while also minimizing your damage and number of moves) then you can make yourself a real challenge. The enemies are fun and varied with interesting patterns to memorize. Not to mention a lively sense of humor and polished art style. Recommended for puzzle lovers!

Nova-111 is fun to play, but I think I will quickly forget about this game. It looks better than decent indie game, gameplay mechanics are fun (stoping time for the win!), levels aren't too easy but also not so hard if you spend some time thinking to discover secrets and such. Maybe it's sci-fi setting that will make it easy to forget - there is nothing that could make me "wow". Same goes for story and music. Boss fights are rather boring and very easy. Also, game is very short. Even with stats for each level (score and time), with achievements, you don't really need much time and effort to get everything and reach some satisfactory position. Heck, even without trying, I reached top 10 on some levels.

For a price tag in my region, which is 9 euro, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. I got it for cheap, but still don't think it was worth the price. There are tons of similar games, better ones, cheaper, with more interesting setting, plot twists, gameplay mechanics. Sadly, Nova-111 doesn't go beyond "average" when you mix together good and bad stuff from it. You will be fine if you skip this game.

Titolo interessante, si tratta di una sorta di puzzle/strategico con combattimento a turni.
Il gioco si compone da 3 mondi, ognuno dei quali è suddiviso in 6 livelli (5 livelli + 1 dedicato al boss), per un totale quindi di 18.
Ogni nemico che si incontra ha le sue peculiarità, ed è importante imparare a conoscerli uno ad uno per evitare di venir danneggiati.
Un po' frustrante tuttavia la mancanza di check point, ma tutto sommato i singoli livelli sono abbastanza brevi.

Lo stile grafico è colorato e simpatico; la colonna sonora - invece - un po' anonima, non particolarmente memorabile.
Lo consiglio, ma solo in sconto.

One of the better puzzlegames I have played in a while. If you like punny humor and going in head first, then this is a game for you!

Grafica molto carina e accattivante. Il gioco di per sé purtroppo non è superlativo ed escludendo le difficoltà proposte dai vari scenari l'obiettivo del nostro robottino è sempre lo stesso: salvare gli scienziati e passare al livello successivo. Si tratta sicuramente di un titolo singolare che unisce puzzle-game con strategico a turni e arcade. Consigliato.

Simple game and beautiful enviroments. I was really skeptic at first but I'm really getting into it. Puzzles are simple (for what i've seen), so you may be dissapointed if you are looking for a serious challenge or a game heavy on strategy. This game works more as a plataformer with some unique elements on its mechanics. Getting a perfect score may get frustrating without the adition of a map, a counter or something like that...but it has animal scientists...like...actual cows, bears and cats man!!

TL-DR: Simple game, not very challengign on it's puzzles. Nice simple casual plataformer to relax. Animal scientists ftw.

Nova-111是一款自带中文（翻译还不错）的回合制+少量即时制+解谜策略游戏，以我玩到的关卡而言都是固定的并不是Roguelike，也许后期会出现吧。总体来说，游戏有着精良的画面和BGM，道具、技能、收集、隐藏点等等元素也相对丰富，以打折时不到10元的价格来说是相当值得入手体验一下的。

优点
+画面很精致，BGM也不错
+易于上手，难以掌握
+性价比高

缺点
-所谓“风格奇特的创新科幻”设定基本只是个摆设，就给了一个要解救科学家的由头，再给画风定个基调罢了，游戏里的怪虽然类型众多，不过也不算出奇
-在玩法方面其实是一款相对小众的策略解谜游戏，因其画面和初期关卡的包装看似吸引了一批新受众，中期还是会大量流失的

总评：对于前期而言老少咸宜，中期开始就有些挑玩家了，而且关卡的难度递增相对平面，对我来说多少有一点点的失望——7.5/10

This “Not Recommended” choice is purely made because of my own personal preference. The game itself is not that bad, it’s just not for me. Nova-111 was interesting for a few levels. The mechanics, level design and abilities are all well done. The main problem for me is that the game wasn’t engaging enough. It did not keep my attention for a longer period of time. I was interested for a mere 3 hours, and after that I found myself just going through the motions and getting bored. If you would enjoy this type of puzzle game then you could pick it up if it goes on sale for around $5, the full asking price is a bit crazy for me.

I loved this game, simple concept yet tricky. Reminded me of the old school games I used to play on the Comadore 60. Nice music to keep you company in the wee hours of the morning. A challenging game and one worth checking out.

Un simpático híbrido entre puzle y aventura en el que llevamos una nave que debe explorar y recuperar científicos por diferentes mundos. Se juega por turnos, en niveles que se dividen en matrices o tablero fictício. Hay quien lo compara con Crypt of the Necrodancer, pero no son similares.

Una agradable e original aventura, sencillita y breve, que sólo se ve empañada por un sistema de guardado automático que no guarda por nivel superado, sino por mundo, cosa que obliga a repetir varias veces niveles ya superados y se vuelve un poco tedioso. Un pequeñito juego ideal para un fin de semana tranquilo.

Definitely giving this one a recommendation. Had a lot of fun with this game.

The whole package is well polished, good sound design, fun/unique mechanics, a silly and unassuming narrative that didn't distract from the focus of puzzling.

I believe it currently has a bug with tracking a couple achievements, but this is a wholly immaterial issue that I would never hold against the devs, I trust they'll iron it out down the line.

To speak of the game itself, its got a very fun blend of turn-based activity with a bit of real-time action interspersed in with it. Watch a stream or catch a video of it, its got pretty distinctive gameplay and art to help you decide in its favor :)
