Dieses Spiel ist in Ordnung, die Geschichte ist nicht mein Geschmack mit diesen übersinnlichen Fähigkeiten.

Außerdem sind die Dialogpassagen viel zu lang bis zur nächsten Entscheidung.

Im zweiten Durchlauf, den ich nur kurz angespielt habe, konnte ich manche Szenen überspringen, aber habe nach 5 Minuten das Spiel beendet.

Normalerweise hätte ich bestimmt einen zweiten Durchgang gespielt, wenn die Geschichte für mich persönlich nicht so langweilig gewesen wäre.

Trotzdem 6/10 Punkte mit Tendenz nach unten.

Игра актеров мне не очень понравилась, поведение героев не всегда логичное, сюжет могли бы и докрутить, страшно не было совершенно, иногда было даже кринжово. Но были и свои плюсы: главная героиня мне понравилась, задумка тоже ничего, неплохая реализация всей истории внутри одной квартиры, задумка с созвонами мне понравилась. Довольно дурацкая игра. Начинается как добротный ужастик категории Б "под мокьюментари", но быстро скатывается в потешный балаган, поскольку сценарий как будто постоянно срезает на поворотах.

Скептицизм по отношению к байкам о древних духах сменяется абсолютной верой в них же минут за пять из-за того, что слишком громко хлопнула дверь.

Диалоги такие:
- Сделай это.
- Не хочу.
- Ну позязя.
- Ну тогда ладно, сделаю.
Или:
- Сделай это.
- Не хочу.
- А то убью.
- Ну тогда ладно, сделаю.

И все это минуты за две диалога и один выбор.

В итоге, через полчаса игры перестаешь воспринимать происходящее серьезно и просто выбираешь самые всратые варианты по фану. Выбил какую-то самую быструю концовку и продолжать не хочется.

Что ж, это было морально тяжело. Будьте готовы к максимально кривому переводу на русский, где с самого захода в игру вас будет ждать «предПуреждение», а половина диалогов и вовсе не будет переведена.

Сейчас игра стоит 550 деревянных, я же брала пак из 10+ игр на распродаже за 1500~. Свою цену именно эта игра не оправдывает

This is not the best FMV game, but not the worst. It's short, only about an hour per playthrough. If you're looking for good modern examples of FMV games, try The Shape Shifting Detective, Late Shift, The Complex, or the Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker.
The acting was fair, the main actress was believable in her reactions, with a few of the others less so. Keep in mind to get the amount of footage needed they need to capture about 5 movies worth of footage. One impressive aspect was the effects minimalism, the team did a great job delivering believable effects at only the right times without reducing the overall quality of the filming. Quality minimalism was seen from the fillm crew as well, I'm sure required by Pandemic restrictions. The story and writing overall is where the game fails, unfortunately.

Night Book is a claustrophobic, occult FMV thriller that turns the simple act of working from home into an absolute nightmare. You play as Loralyn, an expectant mother and remote interpreter who accidentally summons an ancient, hungry spirit after being tricked into reading from a cursed book during a late-night video call. The entire game is presented through the lens of computer screens and security feeds, creating a voyeuristic, high-stakes tension that feels uncomfortably grounded in our post-pandemic world.

The branching narrative is the real draw here. Every choice—no matter how minor it seems—ripples through the story, leading to wildly different outcomes for Loralyn, her husband, and her mentally ill father who lives in the same flat. I found the "relationship tracking" system to be a stressful but brilliant addition; your interactions with other characters dictate their loyalty and survival, making you second-guess every sentence you translate. It’s a game where silence is often a choice, and sometimes the most professional response is the one that gets you killed.

Visually, it captures that grainy, low-light aesthetic of a Zoom call perfectly, which makes the supernatural intrusions feel far more jarring. Since it was filmed during lockdown, the isolation of the characters feels genuine rather than acted. With multiple endings ranging from "everyone survives" to "total bloodbath," it’s designed to be played through in one sitting and then immediately restarted to see how a single different decision could have stopped the haunting.

7.5/10. It is a short, sharp, and spooky interactive movie that understands how to use technology to build dread. It’s perfect for a rainy night when you want to feel a little bit uneasy about your own webcam.

Read the fine print, keep the lights on, and whatever you do, do not read the words out loud.

[H1]Pandemic creativity with a definite 2020 vibe. More fascinating than frightening[/H1]

This is a curious time capsule born straight out of lockdown creativity. A FMV where actors never physically interact and only exist through webcams and screens, which is honestly clever given the context. You follow a translator tangled in occult translation business, lots of ominous calls, hidden secrets, and very familiar horror beats. It’s cliché-heavy, but I’ll admit the premise pulled me in more than expected.

Choices are quick to appear and frequent, with 15 endings and over 200 unique scenes to uncover, which sounds impressive on paper. There are also some thoughtful accessibility options like subtitle size and color, brightness settings, and the ability to remove decision timers. Sadly, the execution doesn’t fully keep up with the ambition. The acting is…rough. So rough it occasionally loops back around to being unintentionally entertaining. The story feels rushed too. There was room here for something closer to a full-length movie, but at around 50 minutes per run, everything feels compressed and undercooked.

Despite the tense atmosphere, it’s not particularly scary, and replaying to see alternate endings is more exhausting than exciting since there’s no way to skip directly to choices. You’re committing to rewatching large chunks every time, which dampens the curiosity even for completionists. Still, as an example of what creators managed to cobble together during isolation, it’s fascinating in its own awkward way. Just don’t go in expecting a polished FMV experience when there are far stronger ones out there. Outside of pure artistic curiosity, it's sadly not worth it, even on sale.

The game is so bad that it's good. I refuse to believe the script wasn't written by an 8 year old. Acting is equal as amateuresque. To the developer's credit, I watched the FMV from start to finish and didn't even realize that it was already over so I clearly enjoyed it in a weird way.

Bei Night Book handelt es sich um einen interaktiven Horrorfilm von Wales Interactive. Aber das wisst ihr ja bestimmt bereits :-)
Im Vergleich zu anderen interaktiven Titeln von Wales Interactive ist es meiner Meinung nach der bisher schlechteste Teil. Die Story ist vorhersehbar, das Videobild künstlich verkleinert als "Kamera-Stream", die Locations sind eintönig und überraschende Wendungen habe ich bisher keine bemerkt. Die Spielzeit von knapp 1 Stunde bis zum Ende beim ersten Durchgang hat mich auch nicht überzeugt.
Sicher, es gibt Schlimmeres, aber wer die anderen interaktiven Filme von Wales Interactive kennt, wird enttäuscht sein. Ich habe das Spiel im Sale für knapp über 2 € erworben und für den Preis ist es noch OK. Aber wirklich nicht für mehr. Wenn ihr die anderen Titel noch nicht kennt, dann solltet ihr wirklich besser zu "Late Shift", "Bloodshore", "The Complex" oder "Dead Reset" greifen. Wer schon sonst alles durch hat und noch Lust auf mehr hat, der kann als Sale einen Kauf überdenken. Aber sonst würde ich eher sagen: Nee, lasst mal...

整体很平淡，甚至可以说有些无聊。除了演员演技可圈可点之外，并无太多亮点。
作为一款恐怖题材的影游，本作采用摄像头视角来增加代入感。但可惜惊吓方式太过低级无趣，全靠一惊一乍的音效和不明所以的马赛克雪花屏。老实说，你还不如整点跳脸的Jump Scare，起码能吓到人。我建议本作导演可以去看一部叫《鬼影实录》的电影，同样是摄像头视角，学学人家是怎么营造恐怖氛围的。
剧情更是槽点满满：一位刚认识不到五分钟的商人，居然会因为一段传说，豪掷20W英镑帮助女主摆脱诅咒。该说是他傻呢，还是女主魅力大呢？还有一位同样遭受诅咒但已摆脱的人，前一秒还说自己不会帮助女主，下一秒就把摆脱诅咒的方法告诉了她，整的跟人格分裂似的，看得我一脸懵。
我不知道是剪辑的问题还是剧本本就如此，这种“前言不搭后语”的割裂感，对于一款影游来说无疑是致命的。

It could have been good, but it isn't.

Compared to the FMV games I've played so far, this is the weakest one yet. It's a shame that so much potential has been wasted, because the idea is pretty good—and by idea, I mean the webcam scenario as an “observer.” The plot itself is terrible—if you're going to curse, do it right. Everything seems very unnatural and unbelievable.

The main actress isn't bad, but the others are annoying. Really annoying. Especially the husband or this Max guy.

It took me about 56 minutes to complete my first playthrough before the curse struck me. Suddenly it ended.
Compared to other similar games, I have no motivation to play this one again to see the other endings and get the achievements.

It has been proven many times that Wales Interactive can develope good FMV games – the best examples are Dead Reset (incredibly good and must-have) or The Complex (very good actors and well produced) or Bloodshore (somehow funny and entertaining) .

I wouldn't feel comfortable giving thies game a positive review. I just didn't enjoy it because somehow nothing about it feels right.

I bought this game as part of a bundle and it only cost me about €1.70, it's not a big loss.

Сырая посредственность. Проект, ощущение, забросили ещё на моменте продумывания идеи. Много вопросов как к игровой составляющей, так и к кинематографической.

Из плюсов можно выделить:

- Качественная работа со звуком и речью.
Главный герой, чьё имя Лорен, - переводчик и большая часть геймплея происходит в переводе на онлайн-звонках. В этом ключе сведение голосов было произведено отлично: когда идёт разговор, слышно говорящего, а перевод тихо происходит на фоне. Но когда спикер заканчивает свою речь, а Лорен продолжает перевод, её громкость повышается. Такой подход приятен слуху и работает во всех случаях по мере прохождения.

Теперь о минусах:

- Быстрые и лишние субтитры.
В этом FMV звучат сразу несколько языков и субтитры здесь особенно необходимы. Но, к сожалению, когда в субтитрах написан перевод проговариваемого текста, они быстро исчезают и можно не успеть прочесть всё. Больше всего это раздражает в те моменты, когда нужно следить за ходом действий и быстро принимать решение - трудно понять контекст. Также здесь очень много лишних субтитров, от которых можно устать уже на середине. К таким субтитрам относятся: "Она тяжело дышит", "Ключ бряцает в замке", "Дверь захлопывается", "Замок закрывается" и так далее. Ещё здесь переведён не весь текст - как в субтитрах, так и кнопках выбора.

- Плохая естественность.
В происходящее на экране тяжело поверить, картина рушится и от сюжета, и от мелочей. Например: когда главный герой переписывается с другими персонажами, она начинает печатать сразу после того, как получила сообщение, не тратя время на его прочтение. Также персонажи могут реагировать на те события, которых не было или которые не вызывают таких эмоций.

- Рваный монтаж и непоследовательность.
При использовании уже отснятого материала повторно были допущены мелкие ошибки. Например (спойлер): [spoiler]если закрыть дверь отца, то ключ останется в замке. Когда Лорен подойдёт к двери - ключа уже не будет. Но когда она снова подойдёт, ключ окажется в замочной скважине[/spoiler]. Также на отснятых материалах заметны склейки и вещи появляются в кадре из ниоткуда.

- Плохой сюжет.
И он плох во всём. Много нестыковок, например: события в действии происходят до их катализатора. Почти все персонажи не колоритны и почти все из них не раскрыты. Линии сюжета ветвятся по странной логике и порой невозможно предугадать того, что может произойти после конкретных выборов. Сама идея может показаться амбициозной, но на деле она абсурдна, криво реализована и не работает.

- Пройденные фрагменты нельзя пропускать.
Всегда выделяю этот пункт либо в плюсах, либо в минусах. Если сначала пройти цепочку событий "A B D E G", а при повторном прохождении получить цепочку "A C D E F", то фрагменты "D" и "E" нельзя пропустить до принятия следующего решения. Некомфортно проходить историю заново.

- Новая механика.
В этом FMV был добавлен сбор документов по мере прохождения. Это файлы из чатов и входящие письма. В целом, идея неплохая, она может помочь игроку полностью раскрыть для себя игровой мир и погрузиться в него со всеми его тонкостями. Но эти документы не переносятся в другие сохранения и их нельзя посмотреть в главном меню. Невозможно собрать все документы при одном, даже самом оптимизированном прохождении: получение одних исключает получение других. Скорее, радует, что этой механики нет ни в предыдущих, ни в будущих FMV от Wales Interactive.

Отдельно стоит выделить, что здесь, по мере принятия решений, будут появляться анимации "Эффект бабочки". Странное решение для интерактивного кино, которое также отсутствует в других продуктах разработчика. Это не плюс и не минус.

Как итог, это крайне посредственный и недоделанный продукт, собравший в себе много минусов представителей своего жанра. Не хочется обсуждать игру актёров, когда не веришь вообще во всё, что происходит на экране. Мне было скучно проходить это впервые и начинать заново. Если нет цели исследовать все FMV, то можно смело пропустить Night Book - это испытание для игрока и разочарование для ценителей.

Tiens, ça faisait un moment que je n'avais pas été hyper par FMV avec l'envie d'aller au bout et de connaitre les embranchements.

Alors attention, il n'est pas parfait. Oui, le scénario est un peu idiot (je vais rien dire pour pas spoiler), en tout cas dans ma 1ère run. Et aussi, je rejoins les avis qui disent que globalement, il n'y a pas beaucoup de choix à faire (ce qui permettra, j'imagine, de couvrir rapidement les différents embranchements).

Cependant, j'ai apprécié l'approche de ce FMV, où on vit l'histoire par des caméras de surveillance, et l'ambiance globale qui allait avec.

En gros, ce n'est pas le meilleur de tous ceux que j'ai fait, mais c'est très loin d'être le pire. Pour cette raison, je le recommande, si vous pouvez l'avoir à bas prix bien entendu

Night Book is a light horror FMV interactive game where we play as Loralyn, a translator working from home. She interprets conversations remotely via webcam and at some point encounters the occult Kannar language that begins to affect her life. Her mentally unstable father is also present in the house, which makes the situation even more dangerous.

The filming quality is excellent and the acting is decent, but the game itself is overall just average. It takes less than an hour to complete. You can skip some scenes that you have already seen, but some scenes that look almost the same cannot be skipped, which is a bit annoying. There are no tedious or grindy achievements that force you to replay the game over 9000 times, which is great if you want to get 100% completion.

Overall, the game is might be not a top-tier FMV game, but it is affordable during sales, so why not give it a try?

Good enough, but short FMV horror game with multiple endings.

The game is played through the lens of a webcam where the main star Loralyn works as an interpreter between English and French. Through a series of Video calls to her boss, clients and fiancé (or husband? I can’t remember), she brings about evil spirits by speaking a sacred and forbidden language not meant to be spoken. Loralyn is also pregnant and looks after her mentally ill dad in their London home/flat.

The acting is okay, maybe a little lacking from some of the supporting cast, but nothing I wouldn’t expect from this genre of game. Most of the tension is built up using distorted camera footage which does become a little tiresome and perhaps the short duration is a blessing.

A single playthrough takes about 90 minutes, but there are so many branching paths for different endings you’ll likely want to play through multiple times. Thankfully you can skip scenes you have already played.

If do buy and enjoy this, be sure to check out The Complex from the same studio. I preferred that one over Night Book.

Noha a színészi játék inkább amatőr, de a hangulatot eltalálták, és a szereposztás is tetszett. A trükkök rettentő gagyik, szóval nagy ijesztgetésre nem érdemes számítani. This is a thriller/horror FMV about a pregnant french translator doing night shifts while her husband is abroad. He is preparing for a major building project on a small island we know as Le Pauce. They want to build a luxury resort there with scuba diving and some highrise hotel or something.

Our main protagonist is the translator, Loralyn, who like I mentioned, works night shifts from home translating between English and French. She however also speaks a rare and hard language called Kannar or Kanar, I cant remember, but it happens to be the language they speak at that Le Pauce island. She isn’t alone at home though, her dad also lives with her, in her and her husbands apartment. Her dad though is mentally unstable and has locked himself in their guest room. He seems to think that the land her husband is going to build on is cursed or something.

So, like all FMV games, we are really just spectators given choices and in this game we are watching our main protagonists laptop screen and we follow her around the apartment through a security system that her husband set up. It has motion tracking, so whenever there is movement in a room, a camera feed will appear.

I was gifted this for free by a friend, so I enjoyed it quite a lot, even with the acting in some of the scenes falling off a bit. It is visually alright and there is a bit of gore but nothing crazy. I do however feel like it is trying to be scary without ever really being it, it is a bit strange and im not sure if it is intentional or not.

I completed it twice, and I know it is intended to be completed more than that, I just lose interest quite quickly in these games. On second runs you can skip already viewed parts, going straight to choices, or at least that is what they tell you on your second run. It only worked for me at the very first clip before the first question, after that I was unable to skip anything. Might just be my game that bugged though.

If you like FMVs and you can get it cheap, have a go at it. I wouldn’t recommend full price though, 5 bucks seem more fair.

Спойлерить не буду сюжет, хотя тут такой сюжет, что и не жалко будет, но всё таки не буду. Мне в игре не понравилась ни игра актеров, ни сюжет, НИ ЧЕ ГО. Самая худшая игра в данном жанре, не советую! Night Book is one of the best of its genre out there in the market, so many scenes, so many choices, so many outcomes, bittersweet lore, confused amidst who is to be trusted and who is to be not , friends seem enemy, evil enshrouds everywhere, this game will walk through every single emotions , fear , aura, versatility , visibility, horror. Из актёров более-менее норм только двое. Остальные ужасны, наняты по квоте, стандартный набор - азиат, афро, сильная женщина.
Больше всего выбесил молодой паренёк. Ему 20+, он обижается и истерит на мамочку, обижается и истерит на главную героиню, боится своего папочку, прям типичный соевый анимешник.

스토리는 뭔가 알거 같으면서 모르겠는 애매한 스토리입니다(개인적)
우선 연기는 정말 잘했습니다. 배우들의 연기 특히 주인공이 정말 연기 잘했습니다 분위기나 BGM도 완벽했다 생각합니다.

아쉬운점은 1.퀄리티 2.애매한 스토리입니다.

1.우선 컴퓨터 장면이 너무 아쉬웠습니다. 실제 컴퓨터 화면으로 사용했으면 좀더 몰입감 좋았을텐데 애니메이션으로 만든 화면이 좀 별로였습니다. 호러 연출부분도 아... 뭔가 좀더 무섭게 만들수 있었을텐데 라는 생각이 많았습니다. 화면 노이즈에 뒤틀린 화면만 너무 많이 보여줍니다.

2.광고에 있든 고대의 책을 읽어 악마 어쩌구하는데 이부분이 애매합니다. 이거 하나 읽었다고 강령이 된다고?? 하는 부분도있고
끝마무리도 호러 오컬트게임이라기보단 그냥 방탈출 엔딩같습니다 악마 이름을 말해 봉인도 아니고 뭐 맞짱뜨는 것도아니고
이게 다야? 할정도로 아쉬웠습니다..

총합 - 배우들의 연기력과 분위기는 정말 최고였습니다. 저도 하는 동안 긴장했습니다.
그외 다른 아쉬운 요인들이 많았지만 이것도 전체적으로 말 을 할수없는게 엔딩이 15개 있습니다 저는 그중 딱 1개보고 말씀드리는겁니다. 장면도 백 몇개였나? 삼백 몇개있는데 저는 33개봤다고합니다.
선택에 따라 플레이 타임이나 볼수있는 여러 장면이 달라지는 것 같습니다 저 플레이하면서 광고에있는 배우 3분정도 한번도 못 봤습니다.

킬링타임으로 추천드립니다 너무 큰 기대는 안하고 하시면 될 것 같습니다.

Признаться честно, я ожидала чего-то большего. Стоимость игры без скидки будто явно завышена, для платины нужно всего в районе 4-5 часов, что как будто бы мало за такую цену, также стоит учитывать, что первое прохождение занимает лишь около 40-50 минут, что ещё хуже за такую цену. Я брала по скидке и это ещё приемлимо(около 200 руб), но разочарование присутствует.

[b] Сюжет достаточно неплох, [/b] такой формат FMV и игр в целом мне очень нравится, я все жду чего-то подобного на много часов. Некоторые факторы здесь связаны, так что при прохождении на несколько концовок можно было обнаружить эту связь. К сожалению, [b] прочувствоваться персонажами [/b] достаточно трудно за такой хронометраж, если бы изначально прохождение сюжетно увеличили, то было бы больше эмоций от игры.

Что точно могу отметить, так это [b] напряженность и ощущение триллера [/b] на протяжении всей игры. Это чувство витает буквально в воздухе, не перенапрягая, но при этом и не отпуская. В целом, в этом плане справилась игра неплохо, но не идеально.

[b] Выборы и в правду влияют, [/b] как обычно и бывает в играх такого жанра. Конечно же намного приятнее видеть последствия своих выборов, анализировать и изучать мир игры таким образом.

The gameplay is pretty standard for a Wales Interactive FMV (full-motion video) game: you pick options, and that’s it. No QTEs, no minigames—just branching choices that shape the story.

The story is quite interesting, blending horror and thriller elements. It follows a woman whose family is cursed after her husband starts working on a development project on a remote island. The islanders worship ancient spirits, and their native language is sacred—not meant for everyday use. The main character, who works as an interpreter, learns the language and unknowingly draws the spirits' attention.

You make choices that determine how she deals with the spirits' attacks, all while handling her haunted and unstable father, her distant husband, her pregnancy, and her increasing connection to the mysterious language.

I got the platinum trophy in about 4 hours. I only saw 9 of the 15 endings, but I did see all 5 of the main ones (the ones that focus on the female lead’s ultimate fate). Honestly, getting all 15 endings feels a bit unnecessary unless you're a hardcore completionist. The main endings already give a full picture of the story’s possibilities.

The game can be genuinely disturbing at times—it definitely leans into the psychological horror. The atmosphere works well, and the acting is surprisingly solid for an FMV game. I could even see the core story being adapted into a movie—it has that kind of potential.

If you're into these types of narrative-driven FMV games, I think it's worth checking out. Would I recommend buying it at full price? Personally, no. But if it's on discount, then absolutely. Still, if you're really curious and want to support the developers at full price, that's totally your call.

It’s not bad. The acting is actually quite strong, and the premise has real potential. But it suffers from underdeveloped mechanics, weak scares, and shallow choice design. More “light horror short film with buttons” than a satisfying interactive narrative.

Ca. 1 1/2 Stunden benötigt man für einen Durchgang. Wer allerdings ein vollwertiges Spiel sucht, wird hier nur bedingt fündig.

I recently came across Night Book on Steam and decided to give it a try — I've been playing for a couple of hours so far. This is an interactive horror film where you choose how the plot will develop. You play as a girl named Loraleen, who works as a video translator and accidentally reads a text that summons demons. Storylane seems simple, but everything quickly turns into a creepy thriller. The whole story takes place at her house, and because of this, it creates a feeling of claustrophobia, especially if you play in the evening. The decisions that have to be made are not always obvious — you constantly doubt whether you are doing the right thing. Interestingly, the plot branches out, and it is clear that different choices really affect what is happening. The actress playing Loraleen conveys emotions very well — you just believe that she is on the verge. The game looks more like a movie with interactive inserts than a classic horror, but it holds the atmosphere perfectly.

UPD: Don't tell me it's based on a true story. yeah?

Evil spirits? Grandfather? Cursed island? Loralyn is all about her. I feel really sorry for her and worry about her the whole time. But the husband plays the worst. or rather, he annoys me. maybe he has such a role and he achieved his goal, but he is the anti-hero for me here.
I like a good ending. Don't play to see a bad one.

На удивление вполне достойный проект, ожидал меньшего. Интересная репрезентация переводчика, мне не приходилось видеть истории про их работу. От этого возникают необычные выборы стоит ли перевести речь правильно и по-совести, или же изменить информацию себе на пользу в деловых разговорах. Сам по себе сюжет мистический, с некими тайнами которые можно разгадать при перепрохождениях, к тому же с неплохой вариативностью. Стиль съемки из-за условий придает особой жути, актеры справляются хорошо, эффекты искажения духами отличные. За задумку вплести профессию переводчика в мистику с древним языком, одновременно оправдав условия ковида - огромный респект. Общее построение игры придает ей инди-шарм, она не пытается выставить себя дорогим кино, от чего присутствующая местами дешевизна смотрится к месту, в The Complex были с этим проблемы. Из минусов кривоватый перевод и пропуск сцен. Оставляю знак качества и нарекаю Night Book одним из лучших проектов в жанре FMV.

Night Book seems interesting at first storywise, has alright ideas and basically two different story which gets to the same node of endings which is refreshing to see from the current era of FMV games. Also, controlling the game pretty straight forward as you only going to need the mouse.

The problem is there is not enough tension for me to feel involved in the story or care too much what is happening in the game and to the characters at all, the whole thing feels weightless to me. It's hard to take seriously, therefore people will leave it after half a play through. Also, the scares are weak, playtime is not longer than 50 minutes if you not skip anything, which is really short and there is not much interest to replay this game multiple times.

In my opinion this game is not a strong one in the Wales Interactive FMV lineup, and I can't recommend anyone to getting it, except if the game gets like a 2 - 3€ sale or getting the game in a cheaper bundle, but otherwise it's skippable.

Oi, lemme tell ya 'bout this game Night Book, innit? Spent ages on it, I did, got all them achievements an' everything. It's one of them FMV games where you play as this preggers bird who works as an interpreter from 'er computer. She's lookin' after 'er loony dad while 'er bloke's off buildin' some fancy resort. Then she reads some cursed book by accident and all sorts of demons start comin' out! The main lass does a decent job actin', but the rest of 'em are proper rubbish, especially the dad - couldn't act scared if a lion was chasin' 'im! There's loads of different endings, but they're all basically the same with tiny changes. Bloody nightmare when you're tryin' to get all achievements, that. Even though I stuck with it to the end, can't say it was worth me time or money. If you're after a decent FMV game, there's better ones out there, trust me. Don't waste your dosh on this, even on sale!

しかし、一度見たシーンはスキップ可能なのだが、これは「同じルートの同じシーン」に限られている。「他ルートの同じシーン」はスキップできず、何度も何度も見ることになる。これが怠い。ひとつの同じ映像が、異なるルートで何回も使用されているのである。
セールの時に買って、気軽な心で楽しむのがお薦め。

The story was actually good, but filled with a lot of holes. It feels like you were watching a "highlights" of a movie. It feels like all the scene that explain whats going on were the ones cut. Who has a miscarrage and doesnt call 911, who watches a suicide and doesnt call 911 or render aid....some wierd situations in this one. Worth less than $5

A bit goofy and defiantly B/C Grade horror.
Is it amazing? No.
Is it fun? Yes!
The actors try their hardest but still nothing Oscar worthy but that's the point. While it isn't a 4th wall breaker or overly self-aware, it is what it is. A Cult-classic-esque horror game that is pretty short with choices that shift the tone as it goes.
I got this game as part of a mystery bundle I bought on fanatical. I think its worth $5 or so dollars for the fun few hours I had with it.
My biggest complaint is lack of skipping and the Steam Achievements pop up BEFORE things happen and give a bit of spoilers for the scenes you watch.

One of the lesser FMV games from Wales Interactive. It's not outright terrible like Mia and the Dragon Princess or mediocre and confused about it's tone like Bloodshore, but far from Shapeshifting Detective. It's just a prettty "meh!" Paranormal Activity" style story. There is little buildup, not really any escalation of the tension and then it just ends. There is one major branch but it's really only 2 different ways to get to act two (and one of them is really contrived in how it releases the spirits). I got it in a cheap bundle at Fanatical, so I didn't really pay that much for it, it was like 1.5€, so at a deep sale it might be worth it if you get a kick out of low budget horror and FMV games, but it's not a especially good game, even if you like the genre.

It's similar to the Paranormal Activity movies that are creepy horror not bloody horror.

My first time through without skipping anything was an hour. My grade would be average.

Buy it on sale if you want a creepy FMV game. The sale price was $2.54

Pro: Could skip scenes that you already watched. The settings also had a pause button for the choices.

Side note: my favorite games by Wales Interactive are Late Shift, Five Dates, and Ten Dates.

Inizio col dire che mi piacciono molto i titoli fmv (full motion video). Ne ho giocati un discreto numero, questo night book non è male ma sono rimasto un pò deluso perchè me lo aspettavo più spaventoso. Non spaventa affatto. Tuttavia gli attori sono bravi e la storia è abbastanza interessante. Ho visto solo un finale perchè non avevo voglia di rigiocarlo. Lo consiglio agli appassionati del genere e solo se in offerta. Night Book is a decent horror FMV from Wales Interactive. It has a decent story, but it’s not great. I also think the acting is good for the most part.
A playthrough is short, but there are plenty of choices with different paths to experience. There are also 15 endings to discover, but no useful way to track them, like a flowchart. You can also skip already seen scenes, but it doesn’t seem to work that well. If there’s any variation in a scene between two choices, you have to watch everything, which is annoying and my main complaint with the game.
It's an okay title that I recommend on sale if you’re a fan of the genre. There are better titles available, but that doesn’t detract from this one.

This is one of the worse FMV choose your own adventure games. It's still better than Mia and the Dragon Princess, but that isn't saying much. The horror elements, plot, and characters are very weak. Likely due to lockdowns at the time of creation, you never see two characters in the same room, which weakens their ability to play off each other. Also, not a fan of the way it records stats. You can see stats on your last game, but it overwrites most of the stats every time you start a new game, which can make it hard to remember what you've done before.

Overall, if you play this one, just do a few playthroughs to see the two main pathes and then be done. The many endings are all variations of only 3 or 4 ends with slight, uninteresting differences. Still, even though I got it for less than $2, I can't really recommend this one because even at that low price it isn't really worth you time. There are much better FMV games out there (like Dark Nights with Poe and Munro, SIMULACRA, or The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker) that I can't really recommend this one. It isn't terrible, but it's completely mediocre with no real redeeming traits.

Dobře sehraná FMV hororovka s mnoha zajímavými konci.

Poprvé to dohrajete do hodinky, ale na vašich rozhodnutích opravdu záleží, takže můžete hrát opakovaně a minimálně další dva průchody by se měly dost lišit. Mně tohle vyhovuje, protože delší herní doba by nejspíš znamenala méně důležitých rozhodnutí, jako to bylo u The Complex, který na mě bohužel působil spíš jako průměrný nízkorozpočtový film.

Okoukané scény můžeme v dalších průchodech skipnout, jenom dodám, nevím jestli to byl bug nebo záměr vývojářů, že mi to fungovalo až od třetí hry.
