Fantastic point and click game. Deep, well written story with rich characters. Hand drawn art that really lends itself to illustrating the world of Neofeud. I was really vibing with this game. Well done!
Content warning: There is one R-bomb and loads of N-bombs, but within the context of the game and characters, really seem non-offensive to me compared to any other media on the market.
Runs well on Steamdeck, but did not glitch or crash anymore than Fallout 3 or Witcher III Wild Hunt, in fact less than those AAA games.
I bought this coz I came across the creator on twitter. A bit of a random purchase but over an hour in and I'm enjoying it. The punk capitalist dystopia vibe, the characters, the humour, the art. Good stuff. I usually have limited patience for point and click gameplay, but I'll see how this one goes.
I came across this developer on social media. I dabbled into the game, and I'm far from finished (my logical capabilities are outrageously bad lmao), but it has just so much *heart*, from the little references to the uniquely drawn style. I will play more when I have time, it's really putting the anti-establishment back into cyberpunk and it's so unflinchingly anticapitalist that's refreshing. It's clear in showing both "this is how capitalism works, this is how opression works" and the possibility of resistance. And when the noose around our necks get only tighter, we need art to show that a better world is possible. It's very worth to pay attention to Neofeud and the upcoming second game.
Neofeud is an incredible renaissance of the point and click genre of the 90's a la King's Quest. The art is breathtaking for being hand drawn, the voices are great for NPCs, and the entire package oozes charm and pop culture references. The one caveat I would make for my glowing review is that the language or imagery can be a little too edgy, depending on your comfort level.

If you like story driven point-and-click adventure games and you like cyberpunk, then you will like this game !
At first the graphics and animations look rather amateurish - but don't let that stop you. Pretty soon you get into the game, and you stop paying attention. Not only that, the graphics, animations and game mechanics actually play into the punk, diy atmosphere of the game.
But what this game has above all is a cast of flawed characters that we really get attached too (despite, or maybe because of their flaws), opinionated politics and a story line worthy of a William Gibson novel.
There are so many games out there with first class graphics and animations, but bland characters and story lines. This is the exact opposite !
The game is odd but a lot of fun.
this game is marxist propaganda disguised as "social commentary". it is full of political correctness, lectures on class struggle and there's even a person reading "das kapital" by karl marx in this game. aside from the jank gameplay, it runs in a tiny 1366x768 window that doesn't go full screen and no dialogue or situation i found in 1.5 hours was in any way funny. it was all political lecture non-stop.
There are two kinds of art; subtle masterpieces that cleverly force one to confront their own beliefs, and a bleeding heart yelling into the microphone. If Disco Elysium is the former, this game is the latter, and I in no way mean that as a slight. An incredible one-dev passion project, and a must-play for adventure game fans or really anyone who has started to pick up on the fact that the scales of our modern-day world seem to tilt further and further towards the rich.

I loved this game. I think it's awesome in all aspects. Cool handmade art, cool point and click gameplay with no moon logic. Good voice acting. Good story, deep characters that have individual personalities and a lot to say that is interesting to hear. Philosophy with a lot of humour. Pop culture references that Gen X and Millennials will appreciate for sure. I think Ayn Rand is misrepresented, but fair enough, as villain rulers in our world often wrongly say they are inspired by her. I love Ayn Rand references in games, good or bad! The ending is very satisfying, leaving you a bit uneasy as well. You don't lose beloved characters. The only thing I didn't like is we never get to see the adorable baby sister of Proto-J again. That one scene where she is taken away made me cry.

This is a fun and cool game! I am probably half way through it but I decided it was already time to give this game and its developer/creator their flowers. The world of Neofeud is incredibly well written which gives the depth and richness of the characters and the story real weight. You become immersed in this hellish near-future world and all that it entails. I can't wait to see how it all turns out. I also love that it's point and click so I have a hand free to sip my cold beverage and eat my snacks while I game. Win-win!
This cyberpunk adventure game about a dystopian future is a story rich game with accessibility options for those who'd prefer to read it, listen or both. Options for narration include adjusting the speed of narration. I've only begun this game, being exceptionally slow getting started in ALL new games. So much so I've got an embarrassing number of them played for all of 10 minutes. I won't play games that frustrate me for very long, I cant puzzle anything out when i'm actually frustrated, So, I quit before tolerance is reached. NEOFEUDs engaging story, art and music keep me coming back to try again. I've found myself using it to *fingers crossed* teach myself frustration tolerance with low stakes in play. BTW gaming-in-general can teach one many things in a low stakes/ low risk/ low pressure environment. Neofeud's engaging STORY, ART AND MUSIC keep me coming back again and again. To try again, and hopefully THIS Time I'll figure out the next step, or maybe the next. At the moment, its a trigger happy guard that is thwarting me. but... I'll be back!

I haven't finished the the game yet but my thoughts so far are instant classic, based, groovy soundtrack 10/10
Only just starting, but really like it so far. It's great for me because it's like those old point-and-clicks, but from a really unique perspective you won't find in other games. The anti-capitalist messaging is spot-on, and I've been looking for that for a while, so I'm glad I finally got around to playing Neofeud since it's been in my library for some time now. Great stuff!
The game is made almost entirely by one person (Chris Miller, a.k.a. Silver Spook), and is packed with passion, personality, and powerful political commentary. When you play, you're stepping into someone's bold and deeply personal vision of the future. And it's dystopian, hilarious, weird, and disturbingly relevant.
The story is what really hooked me. It’s smart, satirical, and goes deeper than you may expect given all the pop culture references in the dialogues on social issues affecting people now and at the time of release. It uses dark humor, sci-fi weirdness, and clever writing to make its point in a way that sticks with you if you take the time to try and understand both the direct and underlying themes and references, and it's greatly enhanced if you read the creator's social media channels or hang around the streams, where they talk deeply about where a lot of the influences come from.
Visually, the game has a raw, gritty art style that some might call rough or offputting at first, but I found it incredibly charming and fitting. It’s not glossy, it’s not clean, and that’s exactly why it works. It is and feels handmade, lived-in, punk and real. And it's the same about the voice acting, every character has distinct personality and delivery, which adds a ton of depth to the story.
If you’re into cyberpunk, classic point-and-click adventures, or you just love seeing what a single passionate creator can build when they go all in, Neofeud is something special.
This game deserves way more attention.
Neofeud instantly hooked me with its bizarre artstyle, interesting concept, and amazing soundtrack. The instant intrigue faded as the dialogue was very blunt, wordy, and obsessed with delivering pop culture references. It wasn't until a certain moment though that the game started to really drag. One character in particular is extremely off putting and the game spends an unfortunate amount of time with them once introduced. The writing also feels much more sloppy as the player begins tackling issues well beyond the scope of the first portion with little to no escalation. It made what felt like a B-movie earnestly (and poorly) trying to tell a fun plot to an overly important quest that is too preoccupied with joylessly listing off all of society's ills to have any personality left. It still tries to get a few character moments in but by then the game had been stuck in a rut for so long with no rewarding puzzles that it really dulled any impact it could have had. I wish I could recommend it as it is a truly unique labor of love but it became too much of a slog to say I genuinely enjoyed it.
I've heard that gamers complain about woke and political games recently but this one is really good. Sometimes it can be a little goofy and exaggerated but in my opinion it gives the story that B movie charm.

i bought it for the art and my love of point n clicks and cyborg stuff. refunded it in under 30 mins of play because of all the ick. this game made me say "yikes" waay too many times in that very first scene, then after i looked up some more of the game on YT, i decided to get my money back. there's racism and tone deaf comparisons and just lots of cringe in the rest of this game. and all that is stuck inside bad voice acting and mountains of dialogue. not even the art could save it (which is a bummer cuz i thought it looked really cool!) big nope from me.

Es ist nicht allzu schwer, da es nicht so viele Gegenstände zu kombinieren und Szenen zu besuchen gibt wie in alten Lucas Arts-Spielen. Außerdem gibt es auf Steam und YouTube Komplettlösungen. Es gibt ein paar Szenen, in denen man das richtige Timing braucht, was ich nicht so gut konnte, aber andere werden wahrscheinlich Spaß daran haben.
Neofeud hat mich von Anfang an mit seinem tollen Soundtrack, der komplexen Geschichte und der ausgefeilten Weltgeschichte gefesselt. Es gibt unendlich viele Anspielungen auf Filme, Bücher und reale Personen (für meinen Geschmack gab es manchmal zu viel Erklärung, um sicherzustellen, dass möglichst viele Spieler die Anspielungen verstehen). Das Spiel befasst sich mit philosophischen Konzepten und hat nette Wendungen in der Geschichte. Neofeud hat sogar die Texte der Charaktere vertont. Die Synchronsprecher haben einen gewissen Amateur-Charme, aber es hat definitiv zur Atmosphäre beigetragen. Alles in allem waren es unterhaltsame 10 Stunden mit einem großartigen Passionsprojekt, das die paar Dollar, die es kostet, auf jeden Fall wert ist. Jetzt warte ich auf Neofeud 2.
I don't normally play point and click adventure games, but I found the graphical style of this game interesting. I had no problems getting through the game. It's not too difficult as there aren't as many items to combine and screens to visit as in old Lucas Arts games. There are also walkthroughs on Steam and YouTube. There are a few scenes where you need the right timing, which I wasn't so good at, but others will probably enjoy it.
Neofeud hooked me from the start with its great soundtrack, complex story and elaborate lore. There are endless allusions to movies, books and real people (for my taste, there was sometimes too much explanation to ensure that as many players as possible understand the references). The game deals with philosophical concepts and has nice twists in the story. Neofeud even dubbed the characters' texts. The dubbing actors have a certain amateur charm, but it definitely added to the atmosphere. All in all, it was an entertaining 10 hours with a great passion project that is definitely worth the few dollars it costs. Now I'm waiting for Neofeud 2.
As a developer myself, I would go back in time and help this developer for free if I could, because the game definitely deserves it. Sure, the janky controls fit the theme, but it's a shame that the frustration of nearly impossible clicking puzzles can make you give up on such a cool universe.
Neofeud is a brutally poignant story that differs from other modern cyberpunk games that often miss the mark with their surface level interpretation of anti-capitalist ideology. Instead of dancing around the subject, Neofeud goes all in with its harsh critique of Western imperialism and striking satirical commentary on the class war present within capitalist societies. This is Detroit Become Human and Cyberpunk 2077 if it was written by a person who understood class struggle.
Presented visually with a lo-fi yet exquisitely charming art style, it's difficult not to take a liking to Neofeud based on the imagery you're presented with. It's like if PilotRedSun and CBoyardee created a video game akin to Cruelty Squad together! A smorgasbord of relevant pop culture references are woven within the very fabric of the game, most notably Neuromancer by William Gibson, one of the most relevant pieces of media in the Cyberpunk genre. (which i have still yet to read! :( boo me!)
While I find it difficult to find flaws with Neofeud, something that really stood out to me is a lot of characters are exaggerated stereotypes that drag down the narrative. For example, [spoiler]Proto-J’s dialogue reads like a caricature of a Hollywood rapper with n-word bombs that implode everywhere within his characterization. Sybil is quite literally referred to in-game as a "manic pixie dream girl,"[/spoiler] which feels jarring in a story otherwise thoughtful.
I experienced some bugs, one which did not allow me to progress to the end of the story, but I was helped very quickly by the developer, Silver Spoon, on the discussion forum within a matter of hours. I understand that this is not a Triple A title and rather someone's well executed passion project, so I'll let it slide. Thanks!
I bought this game on a whim when I still used Mastodon and saw a post about it by chance. I didn't play it for years because I didn't have the time. When I did, it obviously did not disappoint. I will be gifting Neofeud to a close friend of mine and will be closely awaiting the release of Neofeud 2.

I enjoyed playing this game until the [spoiler]scene in the bar[/spoiler], after that... from there it just crashed imo. WAY too much talking got me out of the flow. I was clicking through lots of dialogues. If you don't mind those, go for it. Great art, made with love. It's just not for me. I (probably) won't finish it. Thumbs up for the incredible creative effort though.

It's been said that science fiction authors are always writing about the present. This game really leans into that, presenting a vision of a near future dominated by technological surges by and for the hyperwealthy, who live in and rule from the exclusive floating islands above the surface of the Earth. The society below is made of machines and transhumans literally cast down as trash from the cities above, a society overwhelmingly composed of victims of the most horrible predations of its ruling oligarchy.
In other words, a world pretty much like our own, but exaggerated to such an extent that it becomes comical at times.
This game's presentation is remarkably unique, it sounds and looks like so little else. The writing is absolutely drowning in cliches, direct references to media, and is about as subtle as having a bat smashed against your head. The voice acting is all over the place, varying quality and performances (one character in particular is all plosives). One character is a walking stereotype.
But behind this superficial presentation is a charming game with a great story, if not one that is basically guaranteed to make you cringe and/or uncomfortable. The first act is a slow burn but it really takes off on you in the middle and end, and if you're anything like me you'll be left turning it all over in your mind for a few days after the credits roll.

Neofeud is certainly a game. It's janky, it's buggy, it has lots of weird interactions and triggers. The art is... something else; it feels like some sort of collage of things, sometimes it's blurry, sometimes it's razor sharp... Dialogue can be cheesy, a bit too exposition-y and not really subtle...
But the game has soul, and you can feel it. A passion project if I've seen one. Sometimes I wish it gave a bit more agency to the player (I loved the apartment section when you decide what passes or not).
Also, Proto-J, my beloved, I'll kill for you.

The story takes place in a cyberpunk dystopia ruled by corporate feudalism, where poverty runs rampant, affecting not just humans but also other sentient beings, like robots. It's packed with references to actors, artists, and movies like Terminator 2, Matrix, and Star Wars, which make up most of the funny parts of the game.
Despite having a lot of text, it never felt heavy. The voice acting, while homemade, is quite good, and the difficulty is well balanced, not the nightmare you often find in this genre.
If I had to mention something negative, it would be that character portraits appear directly in the scene instead of being framed, blending into the background. Even so, it feels totally consistent with the game's raw art style, which overflows with personality.
In short, I loved it from the very beginning to the final credits. It's totally memorable, and I can't wait for the highly anticipated sequel (though this story is fully complete on its own, just to clarify).
i couldn't get past 20 minutes of this game, the dialogue just is absolutely terrible, the first situation is so badly written so illogical, so stupid, so childish, reminded me of those games made in the 2000s by kids using flash, its that level of writing and story. I really wanted to like this game. and no, i wont give it more than 20 minutes as that already felt like a waste, and if the writing is that bad even if it magically improves tenfold it would still be terrible. Sometimes I feel like this world is full of re-tards because they give things like this such a good rating. but because you are probably one of them you will like this game, so in that case I suggest you get it.
Enjoyed the game as a point and click, adventure, sci-fi enthusiast. Lots of Sci-Fi references if you are fan of the genre you can be like that Leo meme pointing them all out. I appreciated the artwork and story telling. Reading that it was one man's passion project and seeing he did nearly everything in credits was impressive. The game play has some bugs, and some of the voice acting was flat at some points but nothing that made it unplayable - just a little frustrating at times when I couldn't click on things and get the response I wanted the first time. The "puzzles" were mostly easy and if you try to leave an area or talk to enough people you will be given hints as to next steps. Overall worth the purchase in my opinion and will be getting the 2nd game when it comes out.

As someone who wrote a controversial Dustborn review, this game is almost exactly what I was hoping Dustborn would have been in terms of its political narrative. While Dustborn has a largely "tell, don't show" approach to its politics because it wants to focus on the relationship building aspect of the story, Neofeud will tell and show in equally large measures, since it will give you lots of text about the dystopian political situation while showing visceral cutscenes of state violence, giving it way more bite than Dustborn. While there are dark moments, there are some over-the-top parodies of capitalism and rich hedonism to balance it out, like the smart meter having three different weapons built into it in order to kill those who try to steal power. The only downside is that the political monologues can get a bit long-winded, but I think it's preferable to keeping the player in the dark about the worldbuilding.
My favorite protagonist is Sybil Clington-Busch, who is part of the ruling class, but seeks to bring about equality for the poor and the non-humans who suffer from specieist discrimination. The other protagonists wonder if she's truly sincere in her political convictions, but she does prove to be genuine, since she [spoiler]used a backup robot body to directly experience underclass life and is willing to subject herself to doing so again in her Egalite policy in the ending[/spoiler]. At the same time, the game makes it clear that despite her efforts, her privilege still blinds her to the fact that her allies are more at risk than her. [spoiler]which costs her an alliance with Noah Goertzel because she failed to realize how constrained he felt under protective house arrest in the landfill. She also has the advantage of being able to survive her death in backup bodies due to consciousness uploading, but that also means she doesn't fully grasp that her allies are more mortal than her, which is implied to be the reason she came up with an overly risky plan to test Karl at the start of the game. Her strained relationship with Noah Goertzel also provides some nuance to the idea of "eating the rich," since it acknowledges that Goertzel's plan to kill all Neofeudals is foolish because he's alienating potential allies.[/spoiler] To a lesser extent, I also enjoyed Karl and Proto-J's character development, with Karl trying to find a way to atone for his past as a corrupt cop and Proto-J learning that the high life he sought isn't worth it if it means exploiting others.
Warren Clington-Busch is probably one of the best antifa story antagonists, since while he has plenty over over-the-top moments of power abuse and hedonism, he remains a competent threat and manages to argue his own philosophy. He states that the reason he wants to maintain the status-quo of the 1% having disproportionately more wealth and power than the 99% is because if he tried to uplift the underclass, he would have less resources allocated to fighting against his Neofeudal rivals, rendering egalitarian efforts self-defeating. It's a realistic, albeit extremely cynical and anti-social philosophy that ultimately results in him seeking godhood like a classic JRPG villain, but he's definitely a bit more complex than similar greedy and bigoted villains.This also indicates that despite being the biggest villain, he's still a symptom of civilization's dog-eat-dog tendencies than the root cause of it, which is something Sybil has to contend with [spoiler]when she takes power in the ending.[/spoiler] Though it's subtly implied that a world where the 99% are trapped in a financial death spiral also causes stagnation, since people like Goertzel and Gen won't have the resources they need to make their own innovations, which counters Warren's argument about ROI. I like that he's able to challenge Sybil's philosophy as well as Sybil's resolve to fight back against his cynicism in favor of doing what she thinks is right.
However, the plot itself has some noticeable plot holes, loose ends, and things that need more elaboration.

[*] When Karl first receives a call from Shuffler, the dialogue makes it sound like he met Proto-J in the past, but he doesn't recognize Proto-J in the present or even knows which apartment room is his. The only explanation that makes sense is that Proto-J used ESP to wipe Karl's memory in an earlier encounter.
[*] The Steam and Itch descriptions state Karl got fired for refusing to shoot a robot, but [spoiler]the game itself confirms he actually did shoot the robot on his superiors' orders. This sounds like a RETCON and you should update the Steam, Itch, and other site descriptions to reflect that. On that note, I think the twist should be supplemented with scenes or even nightmares where he ponders his guilt.[/spoiler]
[*] There's no follow-up for Shuffler and Princess. While Shuffler is probably fine due to Sybil's deal, Princess's fate is unknown despite how worried Proto-J was for her. Also, what happened to Suzette? Does she ever reunite with her children?
[*] Did Borges survive his battle against Proto-J? The game implies there's a stable time loop in Goertzel's lab, but Borges took a heavy dose of mythium and an ESP attack. Maybe he'll show up in the sequel?
[*] Aleph needs more characterization [spoiler]and not just get killed off so suddenly. Maybe he should get a notepad to write down his thoughts and explain his origin story?[/spoiler]

The gameplay is simple point-and-click for the most part, with well-thought out puzzles. However, the shootout in the arcade has too many extra buttons and moving parts for how time-sensitive it is, making it the most difficult and jank portion of the game. The shooting/cover mechanic also feels very jank and you don't get a lot of time to master it. It's so much harder than the final action sequence that I consider it the actual final boss of the game, lol.
The game has a lot of voiced and unvoiced dialogue, but it's easy to accidentally click through them. IMO, the game really needs a text log like in the Trails series that also allows you to replay voice clips.

I really like the dynamic between Sybil versus Warren as well as how the game doesn't shy away from showing the more brutal aspects of capitalism and racism, but the game's story needs more proofreading to fix plot holes and address some forgotten plot threads.
It's good
This game is all about the grungy digital sidewalk art, the [i]exhaustively[/i] detailed ideas, the cyberpunk lore. The puzzles are secondary, and though there is a handful of traditional point 'n' click hurdles here, they're only for genre flavor. What you get with [i]Neofeud[/i] is tantamount to an interactive story -- a fascinating journey into a literally mixed-media world, limned in an aesthetic that I dub [b]junkpunk[/b].
The adventure takes place in a [i]flakked up[/i] continuity where robots get high on mythium until they blue screen on the sidewalk, and chimeric demi-people living in shipping container favelas try to jack free power from killer electric meters. The style, like the world, is somewhat [i]junky[/i] too. But it looks so good in all its expressive, soul-soaked junkiness; every rusted-through, goo-dripping part is in complete, dissonant unity with every other, and the way each object or character would [i]look[/i] in any other style can be easily imagined. That, in general, is the success of a style: it's [b]thick[/b] enough to carry its own rich personality, and yet is transparent enough for symbolic clarity, for every consciously included detail to be readable by all those not [i]inside[/i] the braincase of the creator.
Like in the Blomkamp film [i]Elysium[/i], society is split into two stark sections in [i]Neofeud[/i]: the world of corporate states below, a place of garbage mountains as big as the Rockies, of city-sized [i]permanent[/i] tent settlements populated by a [i]junky[/i] mixture of humans beset by nanotech-borne diseases, crippled robots shell-shocked from their time subduing a radioactive Europe, and mutant refugees from various macro-scale gene-splicing experiments. Up and above are the one-percent in their floating sky fortresses -- those who travel the stars, reap the resources of the asteroid belt, experiment on the sentients of [i]all[/i] worlds to their hearts' content, and in general incessantly seek ways to amplify their own power and pleasure. A horrible amplification of where the United States is headed, maybe, with a patina of satire on the surface and a whole big book of serious world-building just below.
It's so novel that in this cyberpunk, [i]junkpunk[/i] exploration you're not controlling another Deckard-type detective (the easy out), but a science fictional [i]social worker[/i]: one of those guys who has to keep up with the robotic welfare queens and tentacled [i]lower orders[/i], making sure that they're getting the benefits due them, and not getting high while smacking their poorly assembled kids around. I really like Karl Carbon as a protagonist; he has an obvious pity for these miserable [i]collage people[/i], but he also knows the wrong things they're capable of and doesn't try to sugarcoat it. Karl, I assume, is sort of a murky mirror for the game's creator, Silver Spook, who obviously is quite liberal -- and though politically I cannot agree on [i]certain[/i] things (I'd probably be one of those Humanity First goons in his universe!), I most certainly [i]do[/i] sympathize with the Spook's frustration over those disgusting, billionaire hoarders of power and profit who've thrown our society out of balance just to pursue their base desires -- for whom gutting whole economies with sanctions is on the up-and-up, fomenting destructive proxy wars is perfectly justifiable, and carpet bombing a country-sized ghetto full of civilians is just business as usual. . . or maybe even a good ol' time!
([i]Neofeud[/i] proves to me, once again, that you don't have to be sitting at the same notch on the political spectrum as somebody to enjoy their art -- and this is an amazing one, a [b]one-man show[/b] apart from some of the voice actors, and heck! I never would've guessed that the robotic [i]rigga[/i] Proto-J and the ridden-hard-and-put-up-wet Karl Carbon were both voiced by the very guy who crafted this big, woolly experience! I am [b]all in[/b] for [i]Neofeud 2[/i], which is coming soon!)
I think this game rocks. Will probably write a fuller review when I finally beat it. Way smarter than it lets on, and the music is pretty good, even though I always feel a little weird when the robot says the n-word.
Great game with funny jokes, good story, plot twists and good gameplay.
Neofeud is a very creative vision of the future, focusing on the details that often get overlooked by other cyberpunk media. It manages to show off and combine stories of the most marginalized all the way to the actual royalty of it's future setting, while telling a very personal story about different kinds of families.
If you like media that tries to imagine a future, no matter how dark, this is a game for you. Maybe it will take a long time, but I agree with the maker of this game that thinking, living machines will be a part of our world. And as soon as possible we should have to give them the same respect and rights humans have.
The soundtrack is very good, and fits in with the themes of old-school technology in a modern world.
Gameplay has numerous action oriented scenes which I did not expect at all. All are handled pretty well within the classic adventure game controls.
If the trailer looks interesting, this is probably a game for you.
Neofeud is an indie gem! It's not flawless, but it's well worth the purchase price. I especially recommend getting the soundtrack as well. Excellent work by Silver Spook!
Highs:
* The aforementioned soundtrack is nothing short of brilliant, especially for a single developer. There are some nods to Vangelis (which I loved), but the overall body of work is very original and listenable.
* The game setting, characters, and plot has genuine depth and richness - lots to work with. Not boring at all. In fact I found myself at the edge of my seat in parts and enjoyed the twists.
* At first I didn't pay a lot of attention to the artwork since it's so different than what I'd normally see in a game. But it grew on me, especially the fine details that go beyond what you can interact with.
* Loved the near-constant sci-fi references of all shapes and sizes. Very fun
* The political commentary of the game is thought-provoking in a way that few games are
Lows:
* I didn't care for the voice acting, so I turned the volume down
* While the writing is engaging and enjoyable, it was also a bit on the unpolished side, and could have benefited from some editing
* Some of the action sequences were a bit fiddly/frustrating
* Somewhat short and linear gameplay, not much replay value

Point and click adventure games aren't a genre that I'm really into, but I enjoyed playing Neofeud. It's a strange but charming example of what a solo dev can do that I'd recommend if you're looking for something weird and kind of out there.
I really like the hand painted style of the art and characters. It gives the visuals a pretty unique feel that I think is very cool. The music was good and fit the game well. Voice acting was also pretty good. The game play can feel a little clunky sometimes but was fun and I found the point and click puzzle parts to be well done. They were difficult enough to make it feel satisfying to figure things out, but not overwhelming difficult to make me just pull up a guide. The story and characters were well done, but at times the dialog did feel longer than it needed to be.
Initially I started playing this on my Steam Deck and it ran great, but had to switch to my desktop during one of the faster paced sections because I was not able to complete it using the track pads. This leads me to probably my biggest complaint of the game, I wish it supported Steam's cloud save feature. Transferring saves manually is kind of a pain.
Overall I had a fun time with this game and it's very clear that this was a passion project of the developer. I think it's very cool seeing games like this being created and I hope we see more from them in the future!

This will be a rare case of me recommending a game that I don't especially like. I WANTED to like it so much, but I just don't. Despite that it fully engaged me for its entire runtime and it's especially a one man show and it's hard to not give points for that.
Pros:
- See above. It is an engaging game. Its janky af, but one dude made a game that held my interest longer than games from much bigger studios. That's... something.
- I really like the MS-paint looking art style. Most of the complaints I've seen are about the art, but to me it gives the offbeat feeling the game goes for some more authenticity and it's really wild the detail that (again) only one dude put into it.
Pro but Con:
- The story. I apprecate a hardcare anti-cap approach that gets a lot of the concepts right. The biggest problem here is that it's massively text heavy and the story gets buried under textbook educating. Much of this game is spent staring at huge black boxes of text that cover the screen. Luckily I read fast because I was able to quickly soak it up while skipping the sub par voice acting.
Cons:
- Very subjective but man I HATED the humor in this game. It just another in a long line of Ready Player One a$$, gen-x pop culture fetishism that I'm just so tired of. Making up for substance with references. And it makes even less sense here why everyone in the year 3000 whatever is so obsessed with the most generic 1980s references. If the Ernest Cline approach of "remember this popular thing" "remember this popular thing" "oh remember this popular thing" appeals to you them here you go.
- Proto-J. Just an aggravating minstrel show of a character. Such a jarring caricature of 80-90s street culture filtered though the worst stereotyping. There was a literally scene that was doing a decent job of describing the institutional racism that this character was a product of only to be cut off by the said character dropping the most insane writer room ebonics I've seen since the Loqueesha trailer. Just a weird mix of accurately addressing institutional racism while fulling leaning into the laziest superficial racism for the sake of "comedy." This could have been a likeable character, I actually enjoyed their place in the story, but the completely unnecessary "I iz a homeboi dawg" caricature is such a wild choice man. This singularly killed my experience more than anything.
It's pretty funny.
If you enjoy point'n'click games and/or are up for a cheeky narrative I'd give this one a go.
Made by mostly one person and the effort is commendable.
I hated everything about this. A jarring artstyle embodies a game which tries to be too clever for itself, and is the Adventure Game equivlent of scraping nails down a chalkboard.
It's just bad. Take all the classic sci-fi/cyberpunk films and games, such as Deus Ex and The Terminator, then copy-paste their ideas and structure in a really poor attempt at a half-parody, and that's what you get here. It literally feels as if you're playing a ZETA version of such classic media. A poor UI and joyless puzzles don't help either; the gameplay here is just badly designed, and drags it down even further.
Gutted I've left it to late to get a refund on this.

the game is ... decent enough for a single developer. especially when we think p&c is not the most loved genre nowadays, even trying to create this game (i mean putting effort & time on it) deserves appreciation.
the only flaw i can say, characters talk too much. and i really mean "too much" , even for an adventure game. i thought it is only related with intro at the beginning of the game (because you have to give info about character, details and background at the beginning, so players do not feel themselves as an "englishman in new york"). after hours and hours, i realized that the characters are still talking too much. and as a non-native English speaker, that endless (?) dialogues gave me some kind of head-ache time to time (especially while that proto-j character is speaking). the only reason i played until the end is, i wanted to know what is going on ^^ the story was great and it managed to attract my attention until the credits scene.
if you have already played dex, gemini rue, technobabylon... and if you are looking for a game that is sharing similar atmosphere, you can give it a shot (on sale) - actually it is on sale while i am writing this review. :D other than that... hmm, if you are not a great fan of p&c adventure games, you probably won't like it too much.
i honestly felt myself unable to decide between "recommending" and "not recommending", but since i think the developer put their all heart & soul into this project, i decided to give a thumbs - up 👍. because unlike Steam, i know that the things are not crystal clear like white and black in real life. and this is my way of thanking you for creating this game (actually there is no other thing i can do). i investigated and found that the dev. created most of the musics and made nearly half of the voice acting, ... and other things too. so, uh, hopefully we can see neofeud 2 in the future, please keep up the good work 💗
I've only played this game for 35 mins and I'm already in love with it. The music and art reminds me of a PilotRedSun animation with a little bit of Blade Runner OST like music sprinkled in. The story and humour has got me hooked. I look forward to getting in a few more hours of this.

weird game
Neofeud is such a fantastically written cyberpunk story. The dystopia aspects are heavily showcased, and allow for an emotionally gripping tale. Great music, fun characters (Proto-J, dawg!), and plenty of 80s/90s jokes/references.
The politics in the game reflect the real world so well, I went on several rants/tangents on my streams. Solidly done!

1. Is the cotton sprayed with pesticides?
2. Is the cotton genetically modified or organic?
3. Who makes ur face mask? since china makes 1/3 of the worlds cotton and sprays pesticides on them.
4. Is your face mask made by Monsanto? IF it is, mostly likely it was not grown organically and was sprayed with pesiticide.
5. If your face mask is made by cotton sprayed by pesticde.. whats the worst that could happen?
the chemicals are not intended for human consumption to put it lightly.

If ur mask is made from pesticide sprayed GMO cotton, you would be inhaling the leached chemicals. The chemicals would go straight into your skin? sound healthy?

Great music and art style. Yeah, it's not perfect, but for an indie game with low budget it's worth a play through.
Just the part with "The Artist" was worth the price alone: had my hairs standing on end. Chilling and beautiful.

[*]В отдельных сюжетных элементах не хватает остроты, а пара линий (e.g. приёмные родители и сестра Proto-J) и вовсе где-то затерялась. Из-за этого эпилог ощущается неубедительным, да и в совокупности это больше киберпанк-сказка, чем киберпанк-триллер.

Great game, loved the artwork.
Neofeud is a mostly-solo-project point-and-click cyberpunk anti-capitalist anti-fascist 80s-inspired B-movie hand-drawn fever dream of a game. As ridiculous as Neofeud can be, I had a great time with it. It was made with a lot of heart, and it is entertaining and interesting the whole way through. My only real complaints were the overabundance of in-your-face real world references (e.g., "It's like that creature from 'The Thing'!") and the clunky old adventure game studios controls.
Picked this one up pretty quickly after this came on my radar. Hard to ignore a game that looks this distinct. Went through it with a friend. It's got it's hiccups but we were pleasantly surprised by this one. I recommend this game, but I'd like to start with it's weaknesses because I think it'd be good to start with what players might find to be turn offs and what the dev can learn from. I hope this review can be helpful.
Neofeud was made in Adventure Game Studio. As a result, the game is a technical mess. Only one window size, the steam pop-up leaves a smear on the outside border of the game, in-game pop-up screens sometime won't go away, etc. I really appreciate the effort that went into adding some interesting gameplay twists on the Point & Click formula but the engine wasn't sharing my enthusiasm. I'd love to see what this dev could do with a less buggy engine. It didn't ruin my experience but it did sour some moments for me.
The puzzles in the game avoided the the all-too-common adventure game trap of being too cryptic, but by the end of the game the amount of puzzles drastically declined, until the game began to feel more like a visual novel. In the last hour or so, almost every puzzle was "try interacting with puzzle > fail > player character tells you to talk to a party member > talk to party member> try again > succeed."
Perhaps the game's biggest weakness is it's inconsistencies in it's writing. This game is filled with needless references to famous pop culture sci-fi. Sometime it's real media being named and sometimes it's intentionally thinly-veiled in-universe counterparts. They all come off as well-meaning nods to the creator's creative inspirations, but they very often broke the suspension of disbelief for me. Ultimately, It's a minor flaw that's a part of the major flaw of the writing.
It's neither subtle nor clever.
Neither of which are inherently bad qualities. MGR: Revengeance is neither subtle nor clever but handles similarly sensitive political themes with finesse. It knows when to slow down. Neofeud, mostly, does not. Sometimes being beaten over the head with a message is what it takes to get the point across, but you gotta know how and when to be subtle and clever and when to be blunt and aggressive. Neofeud does eventually find that sweet spot but it stumbles out of the gate, and it's important to have a good first impression.
But let's move onto the good. There's plenty of it.
First off, the music. If nothing else you should pick this up just for the soundtrack. Plenty of time my friend and I stopped playing just so we could listen to it. Love the sampled dial-up tone for the main theme.
The artwork. There's no game that looks like this. One of the most stylistically ugly games I've ever seen and it adds so much to the broken and tired world these characters live in. This is a hopeless world with hopeless characters and it looks it. I wish every character had close up shots during the dialogue but I'm just nitpicking. I love the expressions these characters make.
The characters all feel a bit one-note, but they have very good chemistry with one another. I particularly enjoyed the two leads. Their arc felt very satisfying. Character designs are varied and interesting.
As mentioned earlier, puzzles feel good to solve and none felt too easy or too difficult. Just wish there were more by the end. There are little moments that I didn't expect from a point & click that are engaging and fun, when the engine allows it to work. I was particularly surprised by the inclusion of multiple playable characters. Not the first in the genre to do it, but it's rare to see it done at all.
It's got it's rough edges, but I highly recommend this one, if for nothing else than a totally unique experience and an uncompromising creative voice behind it. For a mostly solo project, this is really impressive. I'm excited to see what else Silver Spook games will make in the future.
I am not 100% sure but after installing this game i found adware on my pc. Startseite24.net, its a know adware browser attatchment. i update my review if i hear something new. real strange situation.

Point-and-click games USUALLY aren't really my cup of tea, as they personally feel more like interactive movies, but this was still a blast when it came to the characters, world-building, and soundtrack! The part with Karl Carbon at his lowest point especially tugged at the heartstrings. There are some awkward gameplay moments, mainly the stealth mission involving Carbon traveling back to the past being difficult to navigate without getting spotted. However, this title is still amazingly impressive, especially for a game made by mainly just a single guy.
I was on twitter and I read a random person comment, about 3 months ago [u] praising this game [/u] and I was like [i] "huh, what's so special about it?" [/i] and oh boy, there were moments where I cried!

In essence, this game is a Cyberpunk game with huge blade runner vibes. Now, I think that 90% of cyberpunk games (and books) are cyber but not that much punk. They focus SO much on the "cyber" aesthetics that they tend to forget the punk part. This game is 100% [b] cyber punk [/b], one of the few that make justice to the genre.
You play as Karl Carbon, an ex-cop who is now working as a welfare check person and who went from having a ton to have nothing. Hell, you even have an electronic arm that is almost going to fall apart.
As soon as the game starts, it really hits you because the dev didn't hold up or save his cards, you are immediately aware of the terrible conditions that EVERYONE lives except 0.00001% who are the ruling ones and, of course, they have all the money they want.

It's your classic point and click adventure, there's nothing that reinvents the wheel.

At the beggining, I didn't like them. Hell, the biggest reason I put it off is because it looked so weird/ugly... Until I actually started to play the game and I realized that this game has something that most games don't: charisma and uniqueness.
You don't play Neofeud to get the best graphics or gameplay, if you want that, go ahead and play Cyberpunk2077.
What you have here is a very deep, troubled, morbid, amazing and cruel story (that has a really surprising ending IMO).

As much as I love it, the game definitely has some issues. It's somewhat obtuse how to do the actions (you have to scroll between 4 different actions, if you want to talk to someone you have to select or scroll the talking option and then you can talk, if you want to inspect you have to scroll or select the eye, if you want to grab something you have to scroll or select the hand and the same with walking).
Another big issue are the bugs. Sometimes they're minor things like you have to position the mouse over/under an object to do the action, others are annoying like if you scroll past some audios they start to play in top of eachother and only once it happened to me that there was a bug that put me on a loop where I constantly died. Luckily I had a different savestate so it wasn't a big deal.
Other issue is the gameplay itself. This game falls into the same traps of others point and click: you have to do certain things in certain order cuz if not, you won't progress. Sometimes it's not very clear what item is something that you can check/interact and background.
Also it makes the cardinal sin of having to solve certain puzzles in a bizarre way cuz... reasons? On both things, where I couldn't find the item I needed to progress/didn't understand how to continue I had to check a walkthrough.
Finally: sometimes the game explain things so little and others way, way, WAY too much. Like, so much effort went into the VA (and it's really impressive that this game is as good and was basically done by a single person) that it's a shame that isn't consistently good. BTW sometimes the voice acting doesn't match what's going on. Sometimes they're super chill in a situation where they should be more alarmed or the inverse. Also t

This is a VERY good game. Considering that 1 person did almost everything, kudos to the dev.

I really liked this game, but I agree with some reviews that it has features that might not appeal to all players. I'll list it a bit more in detail below, but I'd say if you like point-and-click games, cyberpunk themes, and good stories, don't hesitate to buy this, mothaflackin. In my opinion it is a hidden gem on Steam.
Now I start with the list:
- The biggest problem with the game is that it has bugs that can make you lose hours of gameplay (because its saving system is manual). It happened to me a couple of times early in the game and that's why I lstarted to save every 15-30 minutes. It is not that the game is full of bugs, it has some very specific ones in certain parts, but it is better to be aware of this so as not to have a bad time.
- The dialogues are long, sometimes very long. At the beginning this got a bit tiring for me, but as you get into the game, you understand that there is a point in putting so much text. Anyway, I think that in a second installment the creator could leave more loose ends and not explain everything in such detail.
- In some cases I found it difficult to solve the puzzles and I had to watch some gameplays on Youtube. I'm sure this won't happen to more experienced players, but having to click 100 times to see which item is the right one to unlock the path ends up making one lose patience.
- Although I have said that there is a lot of text, the plot is complex and there are things that are only understood at the end. I really liked this, because it also introduces complex characters, multiple cultural references, literature, etc. But this could cause casual players to lose interest quickly.
- The game is clearly an anti-capitalist manifesto (it belongs to the cyberpunk genre, duh). To me this is not a bad thing, but I assume there will be no shortage of players who don't like "woke" games (whatever that means) and find it weird that a game called "NEOFEUD" is full of villains who are billionaires classist, racist and transphobic.
Having said all this, it must be recognized that for a work done by a small team (the creator does everything, even the voices and the music), the result is very good and the story is not only well written, but there are very beautiful moments, like when Proto-J talks to his creator. I can only recommend that you buy it and be ready for the sequel.
i cried when i finished this game actually. it'll be living rent free in my head 24/7, 365. i actively fell in love with the music and the art style and the characters and just really everything about it. my favorite quote from this game as a little treat to end this review: "everything has happened, is happening, will always happen." the actual one is much longer, this is just the end of it, but i'll leave it up to you dear reader to find the rest (if you do play this game, which im saying you should)
If you are used to Adventure Game Studio type of games or things like Hotel Dusk on Nintendo DS, the quality of life issues on this game are not really any worse than what you're probably already used to.
Either way, look past all of what has already been said -- the rendering bugs, the lack of game settings, the mid voice acting -- and focus on the good parts: A fantastic story to tell, good character writing, good music (surprisingly so)
If you like Disco Elysium, you will like this. Maybe not the first 30 minutes though while you're getting used to everything.

The best cyberpunk game I've ever played. A true exemplar of the genre. Raw, subversive, provocative, and incredibly deep all at the same time. It's amazing what the Silver Spook hui has done. This game deserves to be played by all cyberpunk fans for generations to come.

i dont pretend to be a cyberpunk expert but this actually gives some "do androids dream" vibes and also early to mid nineties adventure games. i would assume that's what that 97 blade runner game felt like (didnt play it), but this also has a sense of humor which i dont see as much in sci fi. it's definitely rough around the edges, but being made by one person, it's still worth your time. support this game so we can get the sequel.
Anti-establishment point and click game. There are lots rough parts like out-dated references, though that adds to the charm, becauce there is a solid, 90s-era, sci-fi story here with interesting characters. It is packed with lots of voice-over dialogue.
Fought against the violence inherent in the system on an Ubuntu Linux desktop, with the Proton compatibility software. It uses the Adventure Game Studiio engine, and I had to tweak the settings - with the steam startup tool - to get it running in full-screen. Otherwise, I had no other technical issues.
Game wants to be taken serious yet tries to throw out unnecessary jokes every other line tryharding to be funny and flopping 80% of the time...
The game also tryhards to seem intelligent by using big words when in reality the situation they are used in is sooo surface level, it's actually so cringe and unneeded at all.
The voice acting is THE WORST I HAVE EVER HEARD IN A GAME. Like are the devs tone-deaf or some ♥♥♥♥? How can you sit there and just add this horrifying voice acting to your game, it's actually embarrassing lmfao
Feels like the devs just played Deus Ex 1 and that made them think they could also create a cyberpunk/sci-fi masterpiece by just winging it and throwing some ♥♥♥♥ at the wall then releasing it like "♥♥♥♥ it, good enough lul."
I can't recommend this, some of the dystopian elements and worldbuilding is interesting but the messages feel hamfisted and something i can only refer to as "acting as a rebel by screaming the status-quo" sometimes. The major issue is bombardment with references, which are not bad by itself but when they're in your face constantly without a hint of irony or awareness it just makes it all the cringier, the VA is laughable but it's charming so is the artstyle. I wish i could enjoy but it's just too rough, maybe the devs will learn their mistakes and make something far greater.
PS. The devs are also out of touch leftist extremists so everything that was extremely strange and stupid about the writing explained itself
The biggest compliment I can give to Neofeud is that it reminds me of one of my favourite ever point and click adventures - Beneath a Steel Sky.
It's not just the dystopian future setting. It's the clever plotting, spot-on humour (both laugh out loud funny and suitably black). It's the characters, the constant nods to 80s and 90s culture, the sharp dialogue. It's the intriguing plotting, which is both gripping in its own right as a story, but also a smart, damning commentary on modern life and politics. Oh heck, it's pretty much everything.
Initial impressions might be that the game looks and feels a little dated, but it's actually a brilliant homage to the 90s point and click adventures that clearly inspired it. Music is atmospheric and whilst the voice acting is a little variable, it rarely drops below "good/very good".
With a bit of lateral thinking, puzzles are generally straightforward. There's none of this using objects in a completely ridiculous way (for example, using a small lid to create a cat moustache, as the game knowingly says at one point). This means anyone with experience of playing adventure games will manage to work their way through Neofeud - and have a blast whilst doing so.
My biggest criticism is the occasional intrusion of small scale quick time events, where you have to react/do something within a specific time or fail (usually dying as a result). These tend to feel a little fiddly to pull off and often result in multiple deaths and retries before you finally succeed. Thankfully, these are used sparingly and this (along with the occasional typo) are pretty small drawbacks when compared with the overall quality of the game.
The fact that this is essentially the work of a lone developer is, frankly, staggering and puts a lot of AAA developers to shame. If they showed just 1% of the love, passion, thought and care that has clearly gone into making Neofeud, then the gaming world would be a much better place.
All I can say is: roll on Neofeud 2.
rough gem
Gameplay is typical of a point-and-click game. You spend a lot of time walking around looking for clues or items you'll need to progress in an area. Some of the combat/fast-paced elements are decently executed, and the world is surprisingly atmospheric with its strange art style and cyberpunk soundtrack. Unfortunately, the voice-overs are god awful, and characters sometimes mispronounce dialogue. The writing itself is just as bad, with stereotypical, underdeveloped political undertones reminiscent of something you'd find in a freshman liberal-arts major's essay on social justice. Oftentimes, interactions between characters are written so poorly that the dialogue feels like a parody of itself. This game has far too many issues, but you can tell an effort was made to make the game visually appealing.
I can't get any further or extremely difficult without a controller
Strongly recoomend Neofeod because of its clear and straight image of classic cyberpunk world. This game is very underrated in my opinion. As I know, author is working on sequel, so I wish him great success!
Neofeud is the definition of a niche game, not one I would ever recommend to everyone. Despite that, it is still l fascinating game due to the messy plot points and some interesting newspaper-like cut-outs of character designs. And finally, a setting in a dystopian cyberpunk world where robots and mutants are being treated as lower class. I weirdly enjoyed this game, I know not everyone is going to like so I’m gonna do something different with this review and not explain why I liked it, but list some stuff that may be hard to stomach compared to other things:

If you made it to the end of this list and aren’t convinced to play this game I don’t blame you, it's wacky. As for me personally, after all the issues I listed, I found this game quite charming in trying to do something different, the screenshots alone were what got me into this game, so it was surprising to me it was more politically relevant than I could imagine. Not like I didn’t have much expectation going into it, still, this is a worthy experiment with its genre and style, and wouldn't mind playing more if another one comes out.
This was a difficult game to review and deciding to recommend this game boiled down to whether I would play the sequel which I would. This game had a lot of stuff going on that is hard to put into a cohesive review so this might bounce around. Visually this game was beautiful to my eyes, the hand painted elements were very cool and I loved seeing all the new landscapes and character designs. The game soundtrack is great, a lot of bangers in it. The sorta of mini games were cool: random stuff like disassembling something, checking boxes, hacking a memory chip, etc. Controls were a bit janky to work with it and took a bit of time to get through a few parts because of this or figuring out what the next action needs to be. While I do enjoy a fully voiced-acted game the dialogue was the biggest drawback to me. It felt like it was went on forever in some parts, crammed way too many references in each conversation, and was hard to follow what was actually going on. As a note/warning, while the F-bomb seems to be censored, one of the characters frequently drops the N-word throughout the game which felt like it came out of the blue while playing/streaming it.

I love this game but its been neglected, it has both kind of bugs, the quality of life ones that you can live with (like having to always adjust the music settings each time you play and the game breaking ones where crashes occur even after years of being reported.
I really like the idea, the message and the spirit this game embodies but unfortunately I can't recommend it for the issues mentioned above that impede this from being the immersive story it wants to be. Maybe wait for a remake made with care. I stopped playing it because many times I was immersed in the story, the game crashes and I hate to do it all over again for not saving. Would like to revisit after fixes are made. If they are made.
I'm really enjoying the story and the execution of this old-school point and click adventure! The graphics take some getting used to, but they don't detract from the overall experience for me. Story is excellently written (and funny in subtle and blunt ways) and voice acting is surprisingly good. If you like old-school adventure games and/or cyberpunk and/or social commentary done in a humorous and sometimes dark way, chances are you'd enjoy Neofeud.
This game takes the cake for some of the worst writing, most referential humor per minute, and fastest drop in production quality.
The first thing that struck me about the game was that they apparently spent all the effort on the art for the sceenshots, and the animation is nonexistent. The second thing was the terrible voice acting that apparently the developer recognized as such, as one of the few options is to disable it. They couldn't be bothered to add a full screen option, so the entire game is windowed. The game's only potentially redeeming quality would be it's writing, but even that is occupied primarily with referential humor. The first scene features a Terminator Reference, a My Little Pony Reference, a Matrix reference a Dues Ex Reference, and a Cyberpunk 2020 reference. The only character that does not provide referential humor in their dialog is the solution to the game's first "Puzzle"
You tell the security guard someone stole your ID that you dropped. You inform him, and I kid you not by saying "Machines don't have rights" and he just walks over, and whips out his gun in the lobby saying she now belongs to the state (with terrible animation of the arms being rotated 20 degrees back, and forth) and I guess the developer wants you to feel bad for the walking series of copied slang insults from the cyberpunk 2020 source book because the game, having given you dialog options for the walking dues ex reference, and my little pony reference, decides you like the weirdo who stole your wallet enough to let them commit fraud in your characters name.

Fantastic and incredibly unique point n' click
Godawful voice acting, nonsensical progression (as per usual with point-and-click adventures), and oh yeah, who gave these robots n-word privileges? Got tired of it somewhere around the open source revolution princess nonsense. Trying to say something but chokes on its own vomit.
It is a game that has been made with limited means. But it has real heart and tells it's story well. I enjoyed it and as a short game it is worth your time.
Well, that was a heckin' trip. With style as unique as can be and interesting story to match, this is something else completely. Puzzles were humane, didn't require moon logic to solve and even though there were places were you could die, you weren't punished harshly for trying. I felt like there was much heart and thought put into the writing, sometimes the plot was just a bit heavy to take in. But after a short break I wanted to see were this was going... And I'm not disappointed at all, now I just want to see what's coming next.

The developer compares their game to Blade Runner and Game of Thrones in their description, and calls it Monty Python-esque in response to another review. Neofeud is none of those. It's South Park.
Within the first few minutes you'll see references to Deus Ex, Terminator, My Little Pony, and more. The brief amount I played of this game was comprised mostly of references. The 'are robots people' and 'corporation bad' themes were so hamfisted and in your face. This works for South Park because it stays current, and leans into the absurdity. But in a game like this, it feels dated and unimaginative.
I cringed a little when the first achievement 'Robot Lives Matter' popped up. Sci-fi is such a broad genre, it just feels lazy to pull your inspiration from so many external sources instead of writing your own. I had to stop playing when the 'gangster kid' character called the protag a 'whack old honky' and dropped the n word. It seemed like every non-white coded npc I met spoke like a walking negative stereotype. Also interesting how the n word exists in the future, but the f word has seemingly been replaced by 'flakk'.
As other reviews have already mentioned, the voice acting is laughable. The art style is quite ugly to look at. The music is unmemorable. These are all things I could look past, or blame lack of budget on. But the poor writing is what let this game down most of all. It's dull, overly referential, and kinda racist. And I only played 40 minutes or so, I couldn't stomach any more.

This has been a really rad game to play so far, the writing is excellent, the indy graphics and the interaction give an indy / nostalgic feel and the sci fi characters are interesting. Well put together. Do recommend.

Puzzles are on the easy side, but the main enjoyment is in its world and the ideas.

Some of the tropes and stereotypes are a bit clumsy and the super anti-capitalist dialogue is quite heavy-handed in places, but I've never seen the consciences rich girl stereotype better written.
The plot and game-play are both solid, the latter being standard, but fun puzzle point and click.
Really digging the cautionary parable tones against late stage capitalism, although it could do with a bit less exposition.
There's plenty of great references to other cyberpunk and dystopic sci-fi stories in here.
Compelling storyline with just the right amount of nods to the current environment. A bit too linear, but enjoyable nonetheless.

A fantastic cyberpunk adventure game. The writing is dense, engrossing, political, and not at all subtle. The commentary on capitalism ranges from hilarious to biting (often both), and I often found myself chuckling at the dialogue. I really liked the time I spent in this world, that does truly exemplify the meaning of 'cyberpunk', much more than other games.
This game gets a solid "it's OK" rating, but I still enjoyed it, so it gets a recommedation :D
First: whats good? Basically everything artistic and world-based is good to great:
- artstyle and music and the general feel of the world are really nice and support the story well
- writing and story are good as well, the characters feel great and unique and imho they are the best part of neofeud and they fit into the story (the story itself is noting special in my oppinion, but it does the job done)
- all dialog is voiceacted, and there's a lot of dialog, so this greatly enhances the experience
So why is it just OK? The game aspects leave quite a bit to be desired:
- some minor issues, like controls and menuing feeling weird and there not being a fullscreen mode
- most point and click parts just don't feel that rewarding and there are some very weird triggers and hard to find interaction points (and no help mode that highlights all different interactable parts of the scene) which - with the controls being awkward at times as well - leads to some very frustrating sections
- there's little to no meaningful choice (which can be OK, but in this game setting I feel like working in a few important choices would have really made a difference)
Neofeud is an odd adventure game in the old school point-n-click style. At least, it tries to be.
The atmosphere is very good, perfect cyberpunk style, okay voice acting, and decent puzzles. But it has some flaws. The main ones are the use of current/recent political events rewritten to fit the narrative. I play games to get away from current news, not be reminded of it, so that's actually been frustrating. Sometimes the game feels like a long winded political commentary rather than an interesting story.
Also, and I hate to say this, but the artwork isn't the best. The 'hand painted' style looks sloppy and the facial profile pictures have a cut and paste look to them. I think a more straightforward pixel-style would have worked better and looked smoother.
Honestly with as political as it gets, I'm just not enjoying this one and really can't recommend it at the current price.
The art style is garish, the voice acting is questionable, and the game can be downright janky at times, but earnest plot and some unexpectedly solid music tie all these elements together into an enjoyable experience. Important to note though, is that this game is VERY LIGHT on puzzle solving. Each puzzle is self-contained and takes a couple minutes max to solve (unless the engine has janked out on you) so don't expect to scratch your head playing this one.
(Also one thing I thought was kind of funny/weird: some of the villain portraits have clearly used references from spree killers like Elliot Rodger and Anders Behring Breivik)
Graphics are janky and animatos choppy, but the story is where this game shines.
