Really a cool game in the pirate environment. No moon logic, simple puzzles. A breathe of fresh air. I really enjoyed playing this game. Top quality voice-overs and dialogs.

A beautiful and witty little adventure with a lot of homage to Monkey Island without being derivative. My only complaint is really that the game is too easy! In the extras commentary Alisdair talks about having to make some of the puzzles easier after initial playtests, and I have to agree that its a shame! On the plus side I never felt overly frustrated, but never quite felt challenged either, finishing the game really quickly. Some nice innovative puzzle styles that are not all combining stuff, and great dialogue, which is the real winner in this game. ABKs writing is entirely suited for this kind of game.

Solid comedy adventure game. Better than Gilbert Goodmate and the Mushroom of Phungoria. It probably invites other comparisons but I shan't make them.
The puns are awful(ly good) and the puzzles are head-scratchingly interesting.

Лёгкий и добрый словесный юмор с любовью к английскому словообразованию и морской тематике, несложный, но хорошо построенный набор головоломок и пара мини-игр, простенькая графика, приятное озвучивание, а также песни и шанти. Технически игра - сиквел, но сюжетная привязка в основном выражается во встречах со старыми знакомыми, так что вполне можно начинать и с этой части.
В целом, хорошее приобретение по скидке или в бандле на вечер.

Nelly is as adventurous and witty as ever, the puzzles are just right and in addition to the free letters out of british spelling you get the wonderful british accent that makes every joke delivery even funnier.
Played the game after finishing Unavowed. The latter was a fantastic game with a somewhat dark and serious atmosphere, in contrast to which The Fowl Fleet was a hilariously light-hearted adventure. The tasks felt mostly straightforward, but were indeed challenging at times. Didn't need to check any walkthrough videos though. If I were ever really stuck, Sebastian (your helper) always came through nicely. I loved all the puns and silliness. Definitely recommend.
I had bought this as a part of a bundle (and also because the trailer is hilarious) and kind of forgot about it. But one day, by kids and I were looking for an adventure game to play together after we finished Day of the Tentacle. My boys love pirates so they naturally fell in love with the picture of Nelly while browsing through my library. They were hooked (haha) immediately!
While certainly not at the level of classics like Day of the Tentacle or Monkey Island, this is a really neat adventure for the whole family that runs along at a decent clip. Nice graphics, great soundtrack, fairly easy puzzles, funny characters and some good humor thrown into the mix. I'm glad I played it and I'm pretty sure it's great fun even if play it on your own.

A charming piratical adventure! ABK's trademark gentle humour is very much on display and Nelly is a lovely protagonist. I can see this being a great first adventure game (along with its prequel) to play with children, as the puzzles are logical, the characters fun and silly, and there is clear signposting throughout.
Bit too easy, I am halfway retarded and I never got stuck for more than a few tens of minutes.
Still a lovely experience, wholesome and very funny.
Do activate the commentary, ABK and Rachel are a treat.

This is a fun little point'n'click game with pretty graphics and a lot of funny moments.
The only things I didn't like are the length (I was able to finish it in less than 6 hours) and the rather underwhelming finale.

首先和上一部一样，这个游戏依旧没有中文，里面还有一些德文拼写，然而对于游戏没太大影响，理解该做什么怎么做还是容易的，注意几个容易疏忽的成就，一周目白金quite easy。这个游戏是《Nelly Cootalot: Spoonbeaks Ahoy! HD》（鸟兽战队HD）的续作，和上一部相比画质有了明显的升级，剧情也丰富了不少，还有了集换式卡牌，剧情上也是接着上一部的——Nelly上一部抓住了海盗Widebeard与老婆，然而忘记拿回藏宝图，不死心的两人偷逃了出来，企图利用藏宝图寻找兄长bloodbeard留下的宝藏，于是我们的主角再次前去阻止他们。
游戏内容和上一部一样，传统解谜游戏的玩法：寻找道具、与NPC对话推进剧情、组合&使用道具，然后里面穿插几个小游戏。由于是续作，上一部的好多NPC也是再次登场：bloodbeard的会说话的小鸟Sebastain、酒馆小哥Friday、卖杂货的Bjorn兄弟……除此之外也多了新人物。同时继承了上一部的部分设定——Nelly可以直接与Sebastain对话（因为她上一部已经对话过了）。游戏左上角的气泡框里还多了作者与Nelly的配音女士的对话&吐槽，告诉了我们一些游戏场景与谜题的设计思路（星盘蜡烛那里我是没绷住），剧情里也有所补充，比如那只魔法猴子El Mono的身世（但个人感觉这里还能展开讲更多？）
至于解谜部分，抛开语言问题也不难，小游戏也比上一部简单，要说给我印象深刻的也就是那个[spoiler]通过一个故事猜一个奇怪的词的意思，这不高中英语阅读的猜词题嘛（通过翻译软件是不可行的，因为作者提及这是他造的词）[/spoiler]，拖时间的地方就是在各个场景切换。
和上一部一样，这一部让我感觉最大的毛病还是赶忙的结局——上一部花了大部分时间在找上岛的方法，最后跟widebeard交手时简简单单用钩子把他打倒了；这一部也类似，游戏流程最长的地方就是在镇子上找东西以获得离岛许可，一旦发动飞行艇就跟按了加速按钮一样：轻轻松松找到了宝藏，简简单单打倒了坏人。第一步结束的预告片里给了坏蛋的那么多动画，本以为要和坏蛋widebeard夫妇斗心眼子大战三百回合呢，结果就这？跟某些动漫&电影一样，前面营造氛围吹得反派多么牛逼，结果快结尾了被一招撂倒，啊？
然后这个结局我也没绷住：最后主角她们使widebeard回忆起过去，意识到他和兄长bloodbeard的误会来源于自己的坏老婆（啊？），然后widebeard意识到错误洗心革面加入了主角海盗团，Nelly海盗团的大家合影撒花完结，被留下的坏老婆和港口管理员遇到snowbird大概也是凉了（估计也不会有下一部了）。跟某些电影一样，最后主角一句话让坏蛋意识到了错误突然改邪归正然后大团圆，这种结局我接受不了，太突兀了。
（游戏里Nelly唱的那首sugar biscuit的儿歌挺好听的，可惜OST里面没有，不然就入手了）
总结：作为一个解谜游戏来说还算可以，画质比上一部有了很大升级，游戏里有几首歌也很好听。原价买不值得，史低嘛，只能说可以考虑。
It's a weak recomendation from me. The puzzles are WAY to easy, at least for an adult. The dialogue feels clunky, since you have to click through it, or wait for a really long time between each "line" of dialogue. Sometimes the dialogue/game seem to just stop for what seems like ages too, like when the guitar player has an animation and all you want to do is to leave the screen. Then in the ending credits, they have the audacity to compare this game with Monkey Island?! The jokes aren't even close to being as clever and neither are the puzzles, so that's a spit in the face of anyone who has ever played the MI series.

Decent enough 3rd person point n` click adventure game. Not too hard which made it relaxing, though had some annoying mini games. Overall fun to play, feels like a proper game, polished, nice voice acting + features the 4th Doctor Tom Baker as the voice of Nelly`s companion bird, however was hoping for a "jelly baby" reference which never came. (his favorite candy from those Dr Who years). Never played the 1st one so this sequel is the one i started with which was fine.
I was quite fun. The voice acting was great. The puzzles weren't too hard and the nod to classic point and click games were quite enjoyable.

It is relatively easy, amusing, and pleasantly silly, but the controls are just a little unresponsive - there seems to be a little delay after an action is completed and before the player is allowed to click on anything else. Sometimes the inventory does not disappear for a few seconds which also prevents any interaction, but that might just be a peculiarity of very particular hardware configurations.
Animations cannot be skipped, but fast transitions between most "rooms" are available on double-clicking the exit arrow.
Dialogue can be skipped line-by-line, and if it is puzzle-related, it can be heard again (some additional dialogue prompts sadly disappear by design upon first hearing). There is a companion who provides clear hints if prompted. It is safe to enable background developer commentary, as the puzzles are pretty obvious anyway; if not at first - then most certainly after hearing the hint.
Multiple manual save slots are available, and judicious - or abundant - use of saves allows for convenient achievement-hunting.
I would say it is reasonable to expect around five hours of play-time from this game. The final twist is a bit ridiculous, but it ties up the story of that particular villain and the bird-plot. This game is suitable for younger audiences. By the way, Alasdair Beckett-King has also written a children's mystery about a new character - Montgomery Bonbon - who may or may not feature in a potential point-and-click-or-otherwise project in indefinite future. No guarantees either way though!
Nelly Cootalot: The Fowl Fleet is a cute and humorous game. The game is a relaxing and child friendly game that included some adult jokes that are reminiscent of the old Loony Toons cartoons.
In short, I recommend Nelly Cootalot as a fun casual experience to have a fun and relaxing gaming experience. Tom Baker is a voice actor in the game as well! Nelly Cootalot is fun and funny without having to dive into crude and crass tactics.

If you've seen some of Alasdair Beckett-King's work on youtube, you have a good idea about the type of humor in this game. It's witty and sometimes quite silly. Not everyone's cup of tea.
I was pretty happy with the length of the game. In regards to puzzles, it was a bit on the easy side. Would have liked to see a bit more complex puzzles.
Although I think there are far better pirate themed p'n click games out there, I enjoyed this one nonetheless.

It's cute and with a couple of a bit non-typical puzzles for the games of this genre. Interesting characters (including the ones from the previous part of this game), some funny jokes.
I advise you to buy and play the "Spoonbeaks Ahoy! HD" first, because it's good game too (and to meet the characters), but of course there are no any critical references from 2nd part of the game to the 1st part. Just a couple of jokes. And there is a "cliffhanger" in the 1st part to the 2nd part.
Good graphics and music. I couldn't get off my mind though, that the music from the main menu sounds pretty similar to the "Under the Sea" song from the Disney's "The Little Mermaid" cartoon :) But maybe it's just 1 more little joke.
As you can notice, the graphics in "Nelly Cootalot" is 3D now. But to be honest I don't think that it makes the 2nd part of the game so much better than the 1st part... What did I expect: "Wow, 3D now? Cool! Maybe the characters will be even more beautiful and there will be some fancy cut-scenes now?!" What did I get: "Mm... It's good and the artstyle is similar to the 1st part, but..." There ARE some cut-scenes now, but they are too short. And without any even a little "action" scenes in it. Just imagine the "Star Wars" movie with fancy modern graphics, but with EVERY fight scenes replaced for example on black screen with narrator's voice "...they fought desperately and fiercely, but the villain was defeated and captured..." Still good, but not much of exciting, right?... :) Especially after some expectations.
And Nelly's red hairs in 3D look for me as mahogany carving now, which is not beautiful, but a little bit disgusting (to have a piece of red wood growing from your head instead of normal hair)... But maybe such an association occurs only with me - then forgive me :)
Characters' voices are good. But (just my personal opinion) the voices in "Spoonbeaks Ahoy! HD" were good for me either. When it was Alasdair who voiced the total majority of the characters in "Spoonbeaks Ahoy! HD" :) The guys (Alasdair and Rachel) said much about Tom Baker (famous English gentleman) - but Sebastian (it's a character to whom Tom Baker gifted his voice) hasn't got many speechlines, to be honest. And there were just 1 or 2 funny jokes in all of these speechlines. Many other characters have more speechlines and more jokes in them. I must say right away that I often clicked on everything that is clickable - just to listen to the various dialogues of all kinds of characters.
But I understand, that it is something like when good-old actor (Jackie Chan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, etc) shows-up just for 2 minutes in the whole movie and his fans appreciate it very much. So I'm not critisizing, complaining or something like that - all I wanted to say is that such starry cast did not make the GREAT impression on me. Maybe because I don't watch TV shows. I had just USUAL for such games impression :)
I enjoyed the in-build audio commentary (you can turn it on/off) from the creator of this game (dear Alasdair) and his girlfriend/wife (Rachel a.k.a. Nelly) to whom "Nelly Cootalot" seria was intended to be a present and who gifted a voice to Nelly character. This commentary section has some interesting detailes, cute little arguments and some jokes. Although there is no option to pause the audio comment, or vice versa, speed up some of the speechlines on a mouse left-click. This section would be much more convenient with these features.
Thus, the game is definitely worth buying, but with some discount. The game is not "childish", it's suitable for different ages. It's interesting and funny, relaxing and not hard. And it's not too short as the 1st part was. Both parts of "Nelly Cootalot" are good, you will not regret buying it if you like the trailers to these games!

It's a fun little point and click game. It's no where near as difficult as the Kings Quest games or something like Loom so I never felt completely baffled. In the end, Nelly Cootalot is a pleasant, funny little game, with just enough of a challenge to make you feel clever.

[b]If you haven't played [i]Spoonbeaks Ahoy[/i] before, it isn't absolutely necessary to do so, but a lot of interactions/jokes will fly over your head.[/b] That said, the remake costs $2 and all the profits from its purchase are donated to a bird sanctuary, so if you to cover your bases, you'd might as well pick it up if you've got the extra funds.
If you do elect to buy this game--and I do think that you should--I want to offer a couple quick tips that I feel might be useful before jumping in:

[*]Double-clicking on doorways between locations will immediately teleport you to that location, so you don't have to wait for Nelly to walk there. This doesn't apply for any other clickables.
[*]The map you're given for the second (and largest) area, [spoiler]The Guttering Howls[/spoiler], is not just for show; it also provides fast travel to locations that you've previously visited (excluding buildings). You will need to revisit every location multiple times, so make sure to use it often instead of forgetting it exists until you're over halfway done with that area like I did.
[*][b]There was an annoying delay between actions during my playthrough, [u]BUT[/u] there's a very easy fix that you can and should do before playing.[/b] Clicking on something or releasing a held item has a weird 1-2 second lag to it where you can't perform any other actions; but if you open Steam > Settings > Interface and uncheck "Scale text and icons to match monitor settings", this almost entirely goes away. I have no idea why this works, but shoutout to [url=https://steamcommunity.com/app/317320/discussions/0/3774483849443030367/]playerrr[/url] in the game's discussion board for discovering it.
[*]Note for the achievement hunters: 15/20 achivements are missable. Examine everything using right-click, talk to everybody using left-click, and save frequently in case you need to go back for something. I also ran into some minor problems with two achievements: Local Colour, an early-game achievement for talking to a certain NPC, didn't register on my profile until several hours later; and Timewaster, the achievement for earning all other achievements, wouldn't register until I rebooted the game. Nothing serious, just something to keep in mind.

A fun and enjoyable game. It was a good break from the more typical games out there i.e. nothing or no one is getting shot, blown-up, etc.

Charming and funny pirate adventure game without feeling like a Monkey Island ripoff. It plays with a lot of tropes of adventure games and got Alasdair Beckett-kings kind of humor if you´ve seen his youtube sketches and like his kind of humour, you will probably enjoy it. It's not a especially hard or long game, took about 5 and a half hour and you always know what to do due to a pretty ingenious mechanics where you can ask your bird friend what you need to do next. Very solid game.

A beautiful adventure game, clever, funny, with excellent voice acting and innovative storyline. I'm old school gamer and so is this game. And it's refreshing that the main character is not making everyone's life miserable in the way to achieve their goals. So, the best possible mix of what made those old games awesome and improving what sometimes made them insufferable. The puzzles make sense. I don't care if some people might find them "easy", because I've seen firsthand the delirium that ensues when devs try to make adventure puzzles "hard". (Flooding inventories to the brim with red herrings, obscure puzzles, solutions that are worlds apart, solutions that make zero sense, etc.) I really recommend this one.

I was not too sure about this game as I thought it would be a juvenile point and click. I was so wrong. The game is imaginative and cheeky. The puzzles, while inventory-based for the most part, require you to think about what item you need and possibly how to manipulate it to further the action. I found myself stuck a few times. What's good is that if you are stuck, your inventory is fairly limited and your choice of locations is not massive so you can sort out the solution without a lot of trial and error or backtracking. Talk to everyone as they drop hints.
I normally do not listen to commentary but I did this time and it was funny and informative. Really good game that just requires your imagination and a bit of thinking. Worth buying.

A really fun and witty puzzle game, very much a homage to the Monkey Island franchise. The writing is another miniature masterpiece from ABK and the voice acting is top-notch. Would definitely recommend!
Eines der besten Adventures, die ich jemals gespielt habe. Die Rätsel sind immer logisch lösbar, und die technische Umsetzung ist gelungen. Von den Rätseln her, würde ich sogar sagen es ist das beste Adventure überhaupt. Schwachpunkte habe ich keine gefunden, außer dass die Minispiele nicht jedermanns Sache sein könnten.

It's clearly been designed by someone who not only loves the old classic adventure games, but also understands what makes them work - everything flows as it should, the protagonist's feedback on the player's actions is clear, and everything has that perfect twisted logic of a classic point & click, plus the cheeky meta awareness to make fun of it all. Apparently I've only played 5 hours, but it felt like a lot more (in a good way!); maybe because I never found myself aimlessly wandering around unsure of what to do next, there was always something happening and moving forward.
One very cool feature that I haven't seen in other games is the creator commentary track that you can play after certain scenes - what a great idea! It gives insight into the game in the same brand of witty humour as the game itself (unsurprisingly, as it is the creators commentarying), and it's so much more engaging to hear these anecdotes right after I've played the scene rather than all together in a long audio track or video after I've finished the game and forgotten most of it. A wonderful bonus to a super fun game.

The puzzles are well-designed and don't spend too much time
forcing you to trek halfway across the map and back again
to solve each step. Not too many red herrings, but a couple.
And a pleasing UI feature - you can press the space bar to see
what things on the screen are actually clickable, rather than
having to go pixel-hunting. I especially appreciate that because
pixel-hunting is boring and tedious and has no place in any
entertaining game. Glad to see it eliminated here.
I played through in a few hours over several sessions and I wasn't
hurrying. Even then, exploring reasonably thoroughly I reckon
I still missed about 1/3 of the hidden extras. The game rewards
exploration with some funny and entertaining side comments and
descriptions. While you can steam through most of the game without
bothering with them, I think you'd be missing a lot of the game's
charm if you did.
A really sweet and funny point and click adventure game.
Overall, worth replaying, but not worth replaying over and over.
Pretty sure I'll give it another run-through once I've started to forget
the puzzles again. And I will be giving it a run-through with the
developers' commentary turned on, so I think those add a good
dose of extra value. I've only heard the first episode so far because
I stopped before the spoilers.

A cozy, feel-good adventure clearly inspired by classics like Monkey Island (the devs are even implying that in the game itself). Nice art style, cool puzzles (0 instances of moon logic) and a plethora of funny puns, references, and British humor. All in all, you'll be having a fun time with the charming Nelly and eventually wish it lasted longer!

A sweet and charming pirate themed adventure with some British wit and humour. It looks good with colourful cartoon animation and sounds good with strong voice acting and catchy musical pieces, but the puzzles are easy and there’s a bit too much back and forth in solving them. The plot didn’t really gel with me and ended limply, the characters are a bit too stereotypical and it felt a bit slow / stiff to play, but it’s still an enjoyably fun and funny adventure game.
The story is very cute, the voice acting is great (especially the endearing Nelly) and the puzzles are logical. I loved this.

Very engaging and playable, a decent length, story isn't bad and a good level of puzzle difficulty (seemed to get progressively harder). But above all - got to shout out the great humour which is very feelgood, and the incredibly charming characters and animation. Loved it!

Six hours of mildly adult humor and plenty of silly puzzles to solve. Very enjoyable. And it worked great in Ubuntu 21.10 on a 5950X/GT1030 in 4K! Their director's commentary already acknowledges the puzzles that weren't perfect. It'd be great if they made another game in the series like this! (Don't bother with the Spoonbeaks Ahoy! though...)

I disliked and disdained the game when i first tried it, several years ago. I found it silly, childish, and too easy.
Some months ago i decided to give it another shot. Although i still think it's not exactly for everyone, it does have quality and can give you a few hours of simple, casual, lighthearted fun.
The interface works well enough - and even surprisingly well with a gamepad. The plot is funny and reasonably logical. The graphics are pleasant, and the music isn't bad. The voice casting is actually pretty good.
I do recommend this game, but do be sure to give the trailers a good look - it may a bit too childish and simple for most players out there.

È una bella avventura grafica, con indizi piuttosto semplici ma divertenti. È estremamente intrisa di ironia, non aspettatevi nulla di davvero misterioso. Gli enigmi sono comunque piuttosto simpatici e pensati bene.
Grafica gradevole, alcune animazioni e particolari sono un po' grossolani.
Soffre di qualche bug minore (per lo più: dialoghi che sembrano bloccarsi per un po'). Uno in particolare era molto fastidioso, in quanto non era possibile selezionare un oggetto nella scena perché il mouse lo trovava alla posizione sbagliata.
A mia figlia è piaciuto moltissimo!
This game was a lot of fun, got a little frustrated at the beginning dealing with a tiny bug, but after that, it was smooth sailing, fun puzzles, great gameplay, full of witty puns and jokes.

Great game and songs, I found it quite funny, and the puzzles are pleasant and sometimes new. No spoilers but some of them for sure I have never seen before. Overall a game I had a lot of fun playing.

Wenn man mit der Tatsache leben kann dass Nelly Cootalot ein Spiel für ca 5-jährige ist, kann es durchaus teilweise Spaß machen. Die allgegenwärtige Unreife spiegelt sich u.a in den pausenlosen "Witzen" und "Sprüchen" wieder, die Nelly von sich gibt.
Eine negative Rezension hat das Spiel aber nicht verdient. Humor wird glücklicherweise ganz individuell wahrgenommen und erlebt. Empfindet man den hier eingebauten Humor als stimmig, ist Nelly Cootalot ein durchaus absolut charmantes, pfiffiges sowie entzückendes Werk!
Nelly stellt sich motiviert ihrem Abenteuer und ihrer Aufgabe. Natürlich gibt es einiges zu tun für die junge Piratin, auch wenn die Rätsel und Aufgaben für uns Spieler weder schwer noch anspruchsvoll sind. Zu begrüssen ist, dass man ein paar wenige unterschiedliche Schauplätze geboten bekommt. Diese kleine Abwechslung ist sehr erfrischend. Wir treffen alte Bekannte, nette Seelen und den ein oder anderen Miesepeter. Alles in allem haben wir alle Zutaten für eine gelungene Abenteuergeschichte, würdig einer jungen, rothaarigen Piratin mit Augenklappe.
Ich habe das Spiel im Verlauf auf englisch umgestellt, da ich die Deutsche Synchronisation als unausstehlich und extrem schlecht empfand.

Nelly Cootalot is a class act (the game and the character). Innocent but non-stupid fun is such a rare commodity, but Nelly pulls it off.
Nelly's world is a sort of bonkers Cornwall of the South Seas but it's basically internally consistent and you can't ask for more than that of bonkers South Sea Cornwall.
The puzzles are creative, fair, and not so challenging, but as they are a seamless part of the narrative, again, can't complain. The voice acting, especially for Nelly herself, is beautifully unforced, as if the voice actor were Nelly in real life, which I sincerely hope is the case. (Tom Baker also graces a talking coot with far more dignity than a coot should have.)
The only cavil I can present is that the dimensions of the Baroness's butt seem to have been reduced along the X, Y and Z axes since Spoonbeaks Ahoy!, which is at least two axes too many and shows unexpected timidity of the part of the art director.
Cute and funny, and the puzzles are interesting but not too hard.

This is a very fun point and click adventure game of a young lass trying to prove her seaworthyness amoungst pirate kind! I really enjoy that there is a tool that'll show you what elements can be interacted with to save you from blindly clicking on every object on the screen in hopes of something happening. I also like that parts of story unfold as you solve each riddle to help you with the next one. Very fun and clever.
I enjoyed the whole game! I really enjoyed just trying to find things to analyze and/or act on.
I especially enjoyed listening to these commentaries that came along while I played the game. Though I listened to most of them after sometime it was made available to listen to in the game. I, as a hearing impaired person, really appreciated that this was like listening to a podcast with subtitles. The conversation made me appreciate the game and the people behind the production much much much more!

hru jsem koupil ve sleve za 10 euro a prijemne me prekvapila. jako fanouska vsech adventur uz od casu monkey islandu me musim tvurce pochvalit za dobrou praci. hlavni hrdinka byla dobre namluvena (anglicky dabing) s nepatrnou vadou reci u t, coz me vzdycky vykouzlilo usmev na rtech :) obecne tam bylo dost vtipku, ale podanych decentne, takze mohly nepozornemu hraci uniknout.
obtiznost byla dost promenna. hned ve druhe lokaci byla jedna hadanka z kategorie tezsich, ktera mi dala trochu zabrat. jinak pribeh pekne plynul a za 7 hodin jsem hru bez problemu dohral. to mi prijde celkem malo a za plnou cenu 20 euro hru asi nedoporucuju.
stredni cast hry byla asi nejlepsi, protoze jste na velke mape, kde je hodne lokaci naraz, hodne npc a hodne ukolu resite paralelne. tam kvalita stoupala az ke zminenemu monkey islandu nebo deponii. zacatek je prumer a konec je podle me dost uspechany a jednoduchy.
je tam i nekolik akcnich miniher, ktere ale potesi spise deti.
celkove hodnotim slusnymi 7/10.

This is one of the most amazing adventure games I've ever played and I've played a ton! It's a true labor of love. There are many interesting characters each with their own personalities, lots of great locations and the puzzles are very cleverly integrated within the game. While the game definitely reminds us of monkey island and that's a good thing, it's also got a uniqueness of its own. There are thousands of lines of dialog but it never drags on or gets tedious or boring. It's always short and usually humourous. While the game never takes itself too seriously, and the graphics are kind of simple, there is definitely a big meaty adventure game and story in there. Trust me just buy it and you'll fall in love with it and all the fun whacky characters! Hoping there's another one soon!
As I have been following the game's author's main work for a while, (which I would highly recommend to most people on the planet) I finally brought myself to buying the game during a sale. The drawing style is simple, but atmospheric, the voice-acting is mostly superb and the few birds one gets to see up close are truly adorable. The highlight of the game definitely are the song-bits, which are completely insane and oddly catchy. Bought it during a sale and thought it was quite sweet. Especially for a game both written and animated by someone who, as far as I understand, only dabbles in game-development.
But eventually it is only against the background of personal dedication going into it that I can give the game a thumbs-up altogether. To me, the central problem of 'Nelly Cootalot' is its inconsequence regarding its target audience.
For adults, the pace and 'childish sassy tone' of the protagonist at times strike me as almost unbearable.
This is not so much about the walking animations and general navigation, as it is about the narration being [i]extremely[/i] linear. You see a room and its items, think 'Ah, I see where this is going...!' but then realise that [i]Nelly does not[/i]. Not yet, anyway. You have to trigger the 'official awareness-points' to have her catch up with your own thinking, which is not entirely unlikely to trigger an adult's sense of achievement-unrelated 'Time Wasting'.
As a pure children's game, there probably would not be much to complain about, if anything at all. Execept maybe that the themes of the game's jokes then should have been even better adjusted to such an audience.
For example, not just the picture of a[spoiler] 'monkey and an organ grinder' showing that El Mono is currently being in an exploiting working environment under Widebeard [/spoiler] might be to much of a stretch for children; things like Sebastian describing the [spoiler]kind, bird-loving genius inventor as a 'mixture between St. Francis of Assisi and Leonardo da Vinci'[/spoiler] is most likely to raise more questions with children than it answeres, very much like a figure's characterisation as [spoiler]'Christopher Lee's less lovable brother'[/spoiler] The [spoiler] fire-and-brimstone(-and-yet-extremely-dimwitted) missonary figure in front of the viking village I personally consider completly unsuitable for a children's game. Or any fun game, when I think about it.[/spoiler] Also, no child currently the right age for the general tone of this game knows the great Tom Baker for who he is or was. Of course, objectively good voice-acting is always a plus, but the truly special factor simply cannot be appreciated by them. The list goes on.
Altogether, the atmospheres of 'fun little pirate adventure' and 'a festival for nerds' just alternate too often for my taste to create good immersion. But, as a lot of adults still seem to enjoy it, I might simply be the wrong kind of nerd for this game. Anyway, if bought for a joint parent-and-child gaming experience, I would still recommend buying the game during a sale.

Неприятный ценник для небольшой инди-игры, но если по скидке, то очень даже можно купить. Русского, конечно, нет, но русский язык подпортил бы атмосферу. Nelly Cootalot: the Fowl Fleet is a cute game about a pirate girl. It's a point&click adventure game with some nice art and adorable characters. It's quite humorous too and offers an interesting story so you have a lot of fun on your adventure.
It plays like most other point&click games. There are some other, more different tasks like mini-games but mostly it's the traditional gameplay you should be familiar with.
It's a low budget game so don't expect a long game or good technically advanced graphics. But for what it is it's really good.
Some puzzles are easy, some make you laugh, some may be challenging but overall there's a good balance, the game isn't too easy to just run through it without any brain activity and it isn't frustrating enough to ruin the pacing and your experience.
The graphics are cute even though animations are really bad. Oh how I wish those hand drawn games like Discworld and Broken Sword would come back. Anyway, it looks decent enough. When it comes to artstyle I can't really say anything bad about it. Of course it's a matter of taste but I loved it.
Environments are also nicely drawn. I'd the whole game looks like a coloring book.
I don't expect good voice acting from such low budget games but I must say it's better than many higher budget games *cough* Heavy Rain *cough*. I really enjoyed the voiced lines, how characters talk, their speaking manner and on top of that the dialogues or monologues are really funny sometimes.
Should run on a potato and it's also suitable for children due to it being a cute, similar to watchin a cartoon about pirates. But it's not made for kids only, it's of those kind of games which is suitable for everybody.
If you enjoy point&click games you should play this. It's a fun little game with a lot of positive energy which will make you smile. But the base price is way too steep, I suggest waiting for at least 75% off.

Its great fun, though its quite vegan. Puzzles are mostly logical, the graphics suit the story and tone of the game. Sadly no small men who live in the crisp cupboard.

Absolutely charming from start to finish.
I remembered playing - and loving! - the original game "Spoonbeaks Ahoy!" back when it was released as freeware on the AGS forums. The ending hinted at a sequel and at a much wider story, but so many indie projects promise big but never deliver, so imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered that "The Fowl Fleet" had actually been made and released!
This game is clearly a love letter to old-school Lucasarts adventure games. It has a charmingly goofy sense of humour (Nelly is a hoot to spend time with and there are plenty of puns to go around) and the graphics are bright and engaging. Whilst obviously inspired by the Monkey Island games, it finds its own spin on the cartoon pirate adventure and all thoughts of comparison soon went out of my head.
Most importantly, the game goes out of its way to try and improve upon the core game mechanics of the old-style adventure games. It includes features to help you find hot-spots; there's an in-built hint system by way of Nelly's sidekick Sebastian; the puzzles are varied in type and I never found myself getting too stuck.
My only slight quibble might be that the game devs scored BIG by securing the one and only Tom Baker to voice a character, but that he's kind of wasted on the character of Sebastian. Since Sebastian's biggest function in the game is for you to talk to whenever you need a hint, I mostly avoided talking to him because I wanted to work things out for myself - and that meant I rarely got to hear Tom's contribution to the game.
But overall I heartily recommend the game. It's also perfectly suitable for all ages and might be fun as a family playthrough!
