look man. genuinely someone like you could never understand but in like, 2016? this gane was geniunely the best thing to play. you couldnt pay a million ♥♥♥♥♥♥ dollars to make a game like this. nowadays all we have is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ overwatch. what a miserable world this is.

only problem is that one achievement was broken for me and I had to use some mods to get it working.
Still I recommend it for the fun experience you can have with friends.

Si tuvieras que describirlo de forma simple, sería algo así como un “Dark Souls poligonal y simpático”: conserva la esencia de reto y riesgo-recompensa, pero la envuelve en gráficos estilizados, escenarios laberínticos y una actitud más juguetona que sombría.
Lo primero que salta a la vista es su estilo visual distintivo. En lugar de buscar el realismo oscuro y barroco típico de los juegos de Soulslike, Necropolis apuesta por un diseño geométrico más limpio y casi minimalista. Las formas angulares, los colores saturados en contrastes fuertes y los efectos exagerados le dan un aire propio, casi como si estuvieras explorando una mazmorra dentro de un mundo de arte moderno poligonal.
En cuanto a jugabilidad, el paralelismo con la saga Dark Souls es más que evidente: combates exigentes, penalización por la muerte, exploración de entornos interconectados y enemigos que castigan tus errores. Sin embargo, Necropolis no se limita a copiar: añade elementos que lo hacen destacar por sí mismo:

Io non sono un grande appassionato di Souls like e simili. Ma ho amato l'atmosfera e il gameplay ironico che mi ha dato questo gioco, semplice e quasi pulito. Dico quasi perchè il gergo usato nel gioco interferisce con le informazioni di incantesimi e armi di gioco..... ma va bene così! Continua ad avere alcuni lag e bug di clip, ma a parte questo è un ottimo gioco.

Głównym problemem tej gry jest to, że została zapomniana. Twórcy po premierze wypuścili tylko jedną aktualizację, naprawiającą błędy oraz dodającą nowy kontent, i patrząc na to, ile go jest aktualnie, to boję się pytać, ile było go na premierę.
Drugim problemem jest cena, która jest zdecydowanie za wysoka jak na produkt, który jest niedokończony i często widać to podczas gry.
Pomysł na rozgrywkę był ciekawy: przemieszczanie się po proceduralnie generowanych piętrach, zdobywanie nowych przedmiotów, ulepszanie postaci i walka w systemie podobnym do tego z serii Dark Souls.
Prosta wizja artystyczna mnie urzekła, tak samo jak humor, który przewija się w rozmowach.
Podczas gry bawiłem się naprawdę dobrze, zwłaszcza grając ze znajomymi, ale niestety trudno mi polecić tak niedokończoną grę w takiej cenie. Co najwyżej bardzo tani klucz, o ile uda się taki znaleźć.

Игра классная, интересная, однако проходится очень легко и быстро, уж тем более в команде.
Игру не обновляют, модификаций добавляющих новый контент нет.
Сюжет, или кхм.. так скажем его намёки, преподнесены в чересчур шуточной форме, что порой даже раздражает, не хватает серьёзности в игре.
Разработчики игру оставили, что очень огорчает.
Что касается ситуации с игрой на момент написания этого отзыва...
1. Себестоимость игры максимум рублей 200 - 300, а не 1599, просто игра не стоит столько, в ней пусто, грустно, и буквально после первого прохождения, становится уже нечего делать, а после 10, ты проходишь её уже с закрытыми глазами.
2. Нет ни модов нормальных, ни обновлений, ничего, игра умирает.
3. Было бы замечательно сделать меньше приколов, и больше нормального, серьёзного сюжета, но ладно уж, этот пункт можно и опустить, хотя бы просто, получить обновление от разработчиков, а не тупое повышение цены, на пустой, небогатый и короткий по геймплею продукт, в котором даже обновлений не выходит !!!
(Дополнение: Сделайте возможность, настроить управление в настройках, потому-что это просто невыносимый пи*дец !!!)

The control are wonky. The description of the items are not helpful, it was too hard to write what an item do instead of some stupid poetry ? The mobs are not really interesting to fight at all. They are just HP bags.

Сними лок на кастомизацию управления ,креветка ты жопорукая и доработай механику отбрасывания у НПС и игроков . Странно как-то выглядит,когда двухметровый шкаф отправляется в полет от пощечины самого мелкого скелета ,оглушаются либо все либо сбрасывается атака в обе стороны .
Сделать бы рефанд да поздно,буду дальше играть и писать отзывы ,так как подарили игру и надо страдать .

Negative review because current price tag and completely abandoned for almost 10 years now
I got this game way back when it came out, and after almost ten years I thought I'd come back and give it a proper college try. I really wanted to like it. It had everything going for it: co-op with up to 4 players, a cool aesthetic, and some souls-like combat thing going on.
But I just can't get into it. You have, at the core of it, maybe three or four weapon types with their own swing patterns. They're all fine. The gameplay is just clunky and not especially fun.
The enemies are fun looking, and there is some variety there, but the strategy for fighting just about all of them is: run away a little, swing the weapon you have back at the enemy, then repeat. It seems the majority of the time using lock-on is a Bad Idea, as enemies can spawn behind you from rooms you've already cleared. After getting to level 6 or so I found myself thinking "man, I hope the next level is the end of the run so I can be done."
Good weapons are few and far between. Almost every run I find I have to endlessly hit enemies tens of times despite trawling for every chest in the game. I find I have to get to at least level four or five before I even start to find decent items, so it means the starts of runs are especially boring.
It's a shame, really. If there was maybe something done about the pace of the game (there's just a ton of empty space on the levels: empty halls, doors that lead to empty rooms, bridges that lead to places that seem like they would hold a chest but have nothing), and something done to add even a little variety to the style of combat, I think this could have been a real banger. Unfortunately the team that put this together is long gone, so the only way that's possible is with modders, I suppose.
Oh, ALSO, it's expensive for what you get.

Me gusta el juego, pero se siente vacío. Tiene una buena cantidad de horas y una estética interesante, con enemigos variados y un diseño visual que llama la atención. Sin embargo, dentro de todos los roguelikes que hay, este se queda corto. No hay mucho que te motive a rejugarlo una vez que lo terminás.
El jefe final fue bastante flojo, al menos en mi partida: un centinela grande que tira una bola de fuego, sin demasiada emoción ni desafío. Terminé el juego, saqué los logros y sinceramente no tengo razones para volver a abrirlo.
Un sólido 5/10. Cumple, pero no destaca. Compralo en una mega oferta a 2 mangos sino, ni lo compres.
Near-ten years without an update, or any sort of developmental support whatsoever, but still stands out from the oversaturation of Rogue-Likes and Souls-Likes in the indie scene even contemporarily by virtue of its unique brutalist aesthetic in architecture, UI, and uncompromisingly-jagged polygonal graphics; with the only near point of comparison off the top of my head being yet another 2010's Rogue-Like in 'Below'.
The effectiveness of the artsyle aside, it's a thoroughly-polished dungeoncrawler that's delightfully, evilly, esoteric; if underdeveloped and having not been allowed the time and effort to arrive at the aspirations it clearly sets out for itself initially. Likely doesn't have the staying-power to justify the $30 price tag (the first Hades is less than that), but if you get it on sale and can wrangle a couple friends doing the same for dirt-cheap, the quality of the game's foundations and mechanics will come through even if there wasn't as much content added post-launch as was intended by the dev team at the outset.
Paradox sucks
Rich atmosphere, quiet moments, pretty design. Oh and an entire video game as a cherry on top!
Unfinished and abandoned
Я все таки порекомендую игру (хотя глядя на полную цену...мдаа, тут только ждать скидок), но эта та игра в которой ты сделал пару-тройку забегов и удаляешь, а потом возвращаешься еще через пару лет, и ты вновь можешь удивиться, встретив новых противников или новые пушки, но вот подряд сидеть и проходить может вообще не затянуть именно из-за визуала, так как он ну очень минималистичный, от него быстро устаешь. Но на стимдеке второе дыхание игра обретает, так как ну это идельный для такой игры формат (а ну и на компе у меня почему-то ну прям надо заставлять нормально восприрнимать боксовский геймпад).
А так тут мы имеем довольно простенькую боевку с сильными, слабыми и специальными ударами, во второй руке могут быть щиты, арбалеты и всякие волшебные палочки. В этоим плане довольно разнообразно, но вас будет ограничивать усталость, то и дело нужно будет кушать. Это не дает расслабляться, так как не рассчитав силы вы просто не выйдите живым из замеса из-за усталости. Одновременно интересно, но и душноватенько каждый раз в меню лезть что-то себе покушать сварганить. Ну и всякие рогаликовые приколы с неизвестными зельями и свитками.
I often think about playing this game with my bros years ago. It's a fun solo or co-op souls-like and Rogue-like with randomly generated levels and a decent but not large amount of weapons to choose from. It's a shame that it hasn't been updated in forever and/or doesn't have a squeal. It's not worth the $30 price tag but it is worth picking it up on sale with a few of your bros for a decent co-op experience.

Credo che il gioco sia molto ben fatto.
Ha una trama molto dettagliata e in chiave ironica, rendendo molto piacevole lo scoprire una storia scritta su muri e descrizioni di oggetti. La storia di Abraxis ha momenti molto divertenti, come la sconfitta dei Re dei Lich di Iz, ma anche una profondità notevole sul "finale". Tutti i personaggi che riempiono le leggende di Zotique sono ben caratterizzati e interessanti.
Dal punto di vista grafico l'ho molto apprezzato, sia per le forme che per la gestione di luci e ombre; ma capisco che possa non piacere se si è abituati al realistico. Per me è esteticamente eccellente.
Per quanto riguarda bug o glitch, questi sono presenti, ma non danno particolare fastidio, di solito basta tornare il menù e riprovare. Non viene mai perso nessun progresso.
Mi dispiace molto che l'interesse da parte dei programmatori sia scemato. è un eccellente roguelike. Ha il multiplayer. Ha una bellissima storia che sarebbe fantastico approfondire e ingrandire. Mi dispiace vedere così tanto potenziale buttato. Spero che Abraxis torni a rendere grande la Necropoli.
Занятно, когда я покупал эту игру за 400-600р где-то в 20-21 году (не помню точно уже), то в голове была четкая мысль, что да, она этих денег стоит и я хорошо провел время на паре вечеров, но я ее не закончил. Настал 25 год, попалась она мне на глаза, решил таки пройти ее до конца. Запустил, поиграл, прошел забег с первого раза за 9.7ч и... просто разочарование, оно еще больше усилилось, после того, как я увидел цену в 1600р за нее. Уважаемые игроки, кто будет это покупать в 2025 и ждать хороший экшен-рогалик, то знайте, что вы зря потратите время и деньги.
О самой игре скажу следующее:
В ней пусто, скучно, однообразно. Это касается всего, от сюжета и локаций, до предметов, механик и противников. Самая банальная и тупая тактика, которой я пользовался, чтобы пройти игру - это огнемет и дистанция. Вам больше не нужно никакое оружие, все противники предсказуемые и однообразные, лутать тут нечего (потому что локации все пустые и однотипные), истории нет, босс лег как обычный моб, финал просто ничего из себя не представляет.

I hope I bought this game when it was on sale. It constantly crashes. Its a shame because the game is actually fun and challenging . I do not recommend this game, I cant make it past lvl 2 without it giving me an error and closing out.

Awesome game, it's best roguelike i ever played.
Locations, skips, fights - everything is playable.
Very generous i-frames on dashes/dodges, really soulslike.
Music is almost magic.
There are levels like annoying labirinths with millions of enemy but it's bad only if you are trying to speedrun
If you have any troubles with fights, just find Shadowborn Flameburster on levels 4/5 - and finish game in EZ mode.
There was really no reason to leave this game, it sold well enough, it would of sold more if you put more work into an expansion...

I highly recommend this game. Played it a couple years back now and it has really stuck with me. The world is beautiful and you can feel the stakes on a good run. I'm the type to explore every nook and cranny of a dungeon and found myself really immersed in no time. DONT COUNT THIS GAME OUT!!!!!

This game just feels unfinished and quite clunky.
There is a great premise here but it's obvious that this game needed more time in the oven. In essence, it's a Dark Souls roguelike that supports coop while traversing randomly generated dungeons. There have been many similar games and Necropolis does nothing to really spice up the formula.
In addition, the animations and combat just feels incredibly janky. The art style is compelling but there isn't much to this game that I could recommend.
If you get a buddy, it might be fun to play for a while after getting it in a sale. Otherwise, I just don't see the price of admission to be worth it.
There is plenty to like here but this game was never truly finished.

I love this game. I was part of the QA team for it many, many years ago and after all this time, having worked on countless other games, this one has stuck with me and I always felt like it was special. I think it's a shame it isn't more well known and stopped being updated shortly after release.
The creative director for the game "Dennis Detwiller" had "Currently creating my opus NECROPOLIS" on his LinkedIn but left the company after it released. Probably because it was his passion project but the company that owns it didn't see it make enough money right away to keep developing it. I doubt it'll ever be picked back up or get a sequel or anything. That being said, if you see it on sale, might as well give it a try and imagine what it could've been with a few years of updates.

Bought this pretty early on, it was a pretty fun and challenging game.. and then it got so repetitive it got tiring to play

Не знаю, кто там ставит отрицательные отзывы, но это отличный соулс-лайк, отличающийся глубокой атмосферностью и беспощадностью. А еще по пальцам можно пересчитать кооперативные соулслайки. В кооперативе игра приобретает новые краски, где френдли-фаер становится основной причиной летального исхода, после чего игру приходится проходить заново.
Да, игра закрыта, не поддерживается и не дорабатывается. Но она полностью готова, увлекательная и займет много приятных вечером с друзьями.

이런 퀄리티면 프랜드패스라도 있었어야 코옵용 게임 중 하나로 그나마 추천이었을텐데 말이죠

Preface, I have about 50 hours on playstation. The reviews here are pretty moronic. Game came out in 2016, was a whole lot of fun. The devs finished it as much as I needed to be. Game isn't dead its just not a live service game whatsoever.
Genuinely a great time, I would rec getting it on sale and with at least one friend. Its fine solo but the multiplayer is why it shines for me.

I bought this on Xbox on Launch day (which is where most of my hours are), and nothing out there really satisfies the itch this game creates. A challenging game with souls combat in a 3D, 3rd person, procedurally generated dungeon-crawler? Variety of spells (good and bad), weapons, and perks (Codexes). Some cool gear options and tons of shaders to unlock. Cool polygonal art style. Decent enemy variety. Humor sprinkled everywhere. Dungeons feel like dungeons with traps and hidden things.
This gem has shown its age, but is still a gem nontheless.

Its an alright game, sadly it got abandoned. I guess if you find it on a good 75% sale or higher you can give it a try, especially with a few friends.
It could have lots of possibility if it would still be worked on, has quite a few bugs/glitches. So dont expect a smooth ride

There would be a lot of potential here if the game was just released. It's disheartening to see such a downside to everything that was done properly.
For instance, the beauty and art style in the game clashes with inconsistency and too open of a world. While the randomly-generated maps show innovation for the time it was released, I find the biggest hardship in the game exactly from this feature; getting stuck in walls. As a side note, progression only comes from death or completion, so when you get stuck in a wall like I did after beating the final boss, you lose all of that progress. There is no option to respawn, relocate, or restart that section. Nothing. You can only restart from the main menu, erasing all progress for that run.
I sincerely think there were a lot of good and ambitious ideas here, so I look forward to seeing how the devs have grown. However, this has been quite the letdown. 3/10.
A fun and simple little dungeon crawler with a lot of heart and charm. It's pretty rough around the edges but still worth the price.
There are good soulslike, there are bad soulslike, there are forgettable soulslike. This one is bad and forgettable.
deserves a prequel/sequel.
