Short but entertaining first person adventure game, where you turn into a bug and try to get your body back while trying to help a friend. The puzzles are pretty easy as far as adventure games go, so most people wont have problems with them. The game ran pretty good and the graphics hold up since they are stylized and not that photorealistic. If you like chill adventure games or games with a surreal twist you should give it a try!

《变形记》+《审判》+《城堡》，属于是卡夫卡游乐园了（）

+++非常有意思的阴暗爬行模拟器，鞘翅目含量超高（虽然开场肖像里有软体虫但还好没做、、、）。玩法主要是巨物化世界+平台跳跃+解谜过关[spoiler]（哎这么说不就是双人成x…）[/spoiler]，主角的性能很高，爬得快跳的远还能脚底抹蜜飞檐走壁所以自由度还蛮大的，大部分关卡都做了箱庭解谜并塞满各种萌萌甲虫npc，有些任务还设计了多线路解法。中后期地图比较大有点难认路，但是有非常方便的实景地图（都来学学这个好吗！）所以还算有头绪。

+++剧本主要改的是《审判》和《城堡》，“Metamorphosis”反而只提供了形象[spoiler]和标题[/spoiler]，但虫虫世界和这种官僚、异化、徒劳以及超现实主题意外蛮搭的。剧本台本非常好，巧妙地把两部小说的主要故事线融进了流程，也不乏让人会心一笑的小桥段（蒂托雷利在虫村当大导演了笑死…），对卡夫卡有一定了解的玩家玩来想必会是乐趣满满！

--然而有一些较为恶性bug至今未修，考虑到许久没有更新可能不太会再修了：存档容易出问题丢进度；部分脚本触发和帧数有关，[b]帧数足够低[/b]才能正确触发、、[spoiler]（UE魅力时刻）[/spoiler]

-本体主线之外还有一个名为the Gates of the law的额外高难度关卡包，预定六个关卡只做了两个。这些关卡非常非常红温…明显能感觉出用这套玩法做精确3d平台会暴露很多在轻度平台跳跃解谜中不太明显的问题。不过还好和剧情没什么关联也不涉及成就，就当不存在好了…

总的来说足够优秀推荐一玩！bug方面只要提前留个心眼（备份存档、提前锁一下60帧）应该就没什么问题了。

Surreal Kafka-esque where you become a cockroach; in fact directly from Kafka in many ways. Well done with good checkpointing especially in the 3d platforming sections and those sections were pretty lenient anyway, which good for this sort of game. Some of in-game "instructions" were a bit confusing, but that was probably just me. For some reason - the "junkfood" achievement did not fire on me, but I will probably replay the entire game for achievement purposes.

honestly, not that good. The visuals are nice. story is weak. 'puzzles' are laughable. it feels unfinished, stretched out. shame, i highly anticipated its release. music is great. but the story and gameplay are just not worth the price. nothing about it is reminiscent of kafka, it just lazily merges The Trial and Metamorphosis. i wasn't at all invested in the characters. it sets up strong, then lets down completely. interactions between chacters seem random and chaotic. the only reason why i have 7 hours in this game is because i explored everything there is to it.
NOT WORTH THE PRICE.
if its on a heavy discount, sure, but don't expect much.

What a bizarre premise for a video game.

[i]Lets take the 1915 Frank Kafka novel The Metamorphosis and turn it into a video game![/i] said no one ever.

Well except for the Ovid Works devs.

I’ll admit the only reason I tried this game was because I found it for cheap in a bundle.

I was curious to see how they adapted the novel I read back in high school to a game and [i]spoiler alert[/i] it only takes the overall premise and characters and doesn’t follow the book that closely.

The graphics and world building were well done. The levels are gorgeous and I was impressed with the design and aesthetic of the gameworld. You can tell a lot of effort was put into this.

It’s essentially a walking simulator with slight platforming and exploration thrown in. There are puzzles but they aren’t difficult at all, it’s more of looking around and talking to NPCs until you find the correct solution.

The story is non-sensical and extremely Kafkaesque to the point where it wore out its welcome rather quickly due to the absurdity.

I ended up rage quitting after 2 hours because I couldn’t take any more of the obtuse & oppressive bugworld bureaucracy.

But upon reflection that makes the game successful in translating the major themes Kafka was trying to convey.

I came back to the game after putting it aside for a while and discovered I was only 30 minutes away from beating it. It’s a short game only slightly over 3 hours to complete.

There are multiple endings too but I only could bring myself to achieve a single ending.

In the end, I’m not certain who this game is for.

I do recommend it since it was a unique experience. I’m glad I played it but finishing it was a relief.

L'ho iniziato senza manco guardare bene cosa fosse e, in generale, mi aspettavo un'esperienza diversa. Ed è stato migliore di quanto mi aspettassi.

Si tratta di un adattamento di Metamorphosis di Kafka, col protagonista che si ritrova insetto e da insetto deve fare un sacco di cose insettose, tipo arrampicarsi ovunque, infilarsi in spazi piccolissimi, gestire scartoffie, partecipare a feste del villaggio, incontrare un grande regista e via di questo passo.

L'inquadratura in prima persona è decisiva perché è uno spasso osservare il mondo dalla prospettiva minuta dell'insetto, per la quale le pagine di un libro sono gigantesche, una goccia di miele enorme, gli umani veri e propri colossi.

Tanto simpatico e tanto consigliato. Tre ore qui sono la durata perfetta.

Boaaah, hat viel Spaß gemacht. Leider, leider etwas kurz. Hätte gerne länger gespielt. Besonders hervorzuheben ist, dass man kein Joystickartist ein muss, um das Spiel zu beenden. Ob der Länge finde ich den "Normalpreis" etwas hoch, aber im Sale sehr zu empfehlen.

Платформерний пазл-квест, де ви граєте за Грегора Замзу, який одного разу прокинувся жуком, і тепер ви намагаєтеся повернутися назад, паралельно допомагаючи своєму другу Джозефу із його процесом. Гра надихається творами Кафки, але ключове слово тут саме "надихається", бо з книг автори гри взяли тільки якісь окремі ідеї - зав'язка як в "Перетворенні", сюжет з другом Джозефом це буквально події "Процесу", коли концепт Вежі навіює "Замок". Тим не менш, в грі немає тієї Кафкіанської атмосфери, яка є в його книжках, вона навпаки намагається бути кумедною (що і добре, бо бюрократію варто висміювати). В грі також є окремі міні-епізоди, в яких ти більше вирішуєш загадки та збираєш різні речі.

Загалом я би сказав, що гра непогана - так, вона на один раз, дуже проста, але якщо вона змотивує людей спробувати почитати Кафку, це буде їх найбільший успіх.

Metamorphosis is a surreal walking sim as a bug with some parkour and puzzles.

Made by Polish indie developers, this short game tried to make a story inspired by Kafka but to debatable success.

Despite being called Metamorphosis after Franz Kafka's novel of the same name (my personal Kafka favorite), this game instead combines two of his books into one story.
The superficial bug's life simulator is wrongfully credited to "Metamorphosis (1915)" but the human story playing out in the background is taken straight from "The Trial (1914)".
The stories may be similar at first but each targets a different topic. This can be felt here were the original story of Metamorphosis is utterly lost and consumed by the bureaucratic story of The Trial...

Having to play from a bug's perspective is cool but nothing we haven't seen before in games such as Pikmin, Tinykin, Smalland or Grounded. The parkour is parkour or jumping puzzles if they can even be called that, are easy and primitive. The "wall crawling" mechanic opened up a whole new dimension to us but sadly that function was limited and underused most of the game. Wish we could get wings.
What I want to say is, the game has huge potential to be a funny bug game with collectibles and puzzles, instead it doesn't know what it wants to be.

The story and gameplay feel separated. The puzzles and jumping are so easy that they can't even be considered that. The game just turns into a walking simulator at this point. The story is primitive and not fleshed out at all. If you don't know the original two Kafka stories, then it will fly over your head, and even if you do then it has no value other than just feel like easter eggs. The world feels sterile, despite the sleeping potential, it feels like a work worse than a student project made in Unity over a few weekends
It got boring real quick.
What didn't help it was that a lot wasn't explained and you are left guessing what to do. I was told to sabotage a document, I ripped it apart in every way possible and submitted it and it still was accepted as if not sabotaged at all and I got the bad ending. Either make it clear or give options to test it out! I am not going to replay a whole chapter and follow YT instructions when the devs could have done a better job.

The extra missions in "Gates of Law" provide some more gameplay and parkour puzzles, which are a bit challenging but still are horribly designed and require constant trial & error instead of figuring out a solution. It doesn't help that the physics and mechanics of the game can let you down, even IF you solve the puzzle. I appreciate this addition but I dropped it because I didn't want to deal with this.

The surreal experience alone is what carries this game. The animations and world building were decent as well.
As I said it got boring real quick, but thankfully the game is very short (3 hours).
It made me want to go back and play Grounded or Smalland.
It also made me appreciate the original Metamorphosis story much more, because this one was a downer.
These positive sounding things are actually bad points for the game.

Either way, on sale and if you have nothing better to do, it is interesting to check out to know for yourself.
It's not THAT bad. I give middle score.

I had awakened. My head ached. A hangover — something I had acquired at the party of my friend, Josef K. I was dizzy, agitated; and I saw the strange paintings in my room — like those posters so often placed in managers’ offices merely to lend a decorative air, yet in truth harbouring other intentions: as though mechanical labour were a scene that could be painted.

The wallpaper, almost nautical, expressed a domestic air I had never before breathed.

I left my room — what a strange, bohemian sensation. A corridor stretched out before me, or rather twisted. It seemed endless; and I heard a choral piece composing itself to the rhythm of my feet — my legs. What was this?

Everything now appeared larger. Even — though it sounds absurd, contrary to what is usual for me — I could walk upon the armrest of a chair. It ceased to be that: a resting place for the body. It became a path — a track I could tread.

I heard a violin melody within me. I breathed in its rhythm as I peered into this vast world; yet something urged me to hurry. I must not remain here. I must grant meaning to my diligence in arriving somewhere — as though I required the end of arrival itself.

Everything seemed colossal, in such a way that my daily objects became my downfall. I felt vertigo, yet also haste. I could not pause to think; I could only move forward before the dizziness consumed me.

What had once been common, domestic, ordinary — now I was an insect walking upon the legs of a chair, a pencil, even smearing my legs with glue. Had another meaning, another sense, another purpose, ceased to be habit?

I traversed a series of domestic mountain ranges that once passed for furniture. Now they were stripped of meaning and seemed intent on killing me. Yet first — they compelled me to keep moving, to progress with the ticking metronome.

I remembered the office: so many papers, it was like possessing many arms. Or being at home — told how late I had arrived. How many legs must I grow to walk faster, to move beyond my own being?

This place defied me. I continued to climb. I clung to the furniture. I read a letter. They wished me to work in the Tower.

My action: I fell into the letters.

The letter, the contract, the legal document consumed me. It was like receiving a message which, within it, held a chain of words seeking to say many things; yet they juggled — like a circus clown — to conceal their true intention behind beautiful accordions of sound. Whatever that intention might be — for at times they invent so much merely to lie, or to say what most suits them.

I fell through the letters.

Josef was asleep.

Why did I have the sensation of possessing witnesses, of having aid? Why would anyone bear witness to my existence — or to what had suddenly befallen me?

These enormous pieces of furniture — especially when my legs clicked, clicked, drumming like shoes upon the cold tiles of a bank’s polished floor — urged me to hurry, yet barred my passage. They were obstacles. But what then? Must I overcome them? Did I need to?

Thus I awakened Josef. He rose in haste, yet mechanised. And suddenly: an officer. They incriminated him for something. Josef did not know why; and the officer evaded the why.

The words grew longer. It was like stacking them as bricks — to pack what? One’s being? Josef’s existence through his deeds? Or merely more words added to what had already been said?

Step by step — I followed the path. How did I follow it? Had it been marked in invisible ink, directing me where to go?

I leapt. I ran. I climbed. I made my way through books — or did they make their way through me? Classic volumes surrounded me. I remembered Socrates: rhetoric, persuasion — that if one allows oneself to be seduced by dizzying words, one dissolves, becomes confused.

And they did not merely confuse me. They sought to speak for me — to record me. In Josef’s case, to transform him into a summons, a file, a document.

I encountered a fellow countryman: another insect. He reminded me of hunger. He desired only an apple — yet he also knew what the Tower could offer. An expedition, like the promise of promotion in any place — home, office, school — desired by many who remain below.

As I kept pace, I fulfilled functions: certificates, turnstiles, administrators demanding stamps and signatures. Even a document required another document.

Did I do what I could — or only what I was told I could?

I longed to sleep. To feel useless. To halt before this vertiginous tide of nonsense.

When a paper was missing — or when, within my family, I was the dishevelled one beside their expectation of a proper, educated woman with good manners — when I lacked all that which to me meant nothing, yet to them signified courtesy — I felt as though I moved from window to window seeking validation.

The paper, the stamp, the signature became my witnesses. Without correct documentation, it was as though I did not exist.

What would my life be without papers — without moments in which it would be utterly strange to request proof in order to say: this is I?

At last — after so much bustle — and I am uncertain whether I ought to have done it, that impulse to reach the Tower and, in passing, save Josef — I do not know whether it is relief, or merely necessity: the need to submit my papers to validate myself.

I had passed through many places. I had seen insects like myself — adorned in interesting fashions, performing actions many practise yet never confess. Vice. Corruption. Others engaged in activities that appear useless to the eye.

The hunger artist was there — feeling what others numb. Unlike the record player and the film camera, they surrendered to entertainment, to the pretence of doing something, rather than standing still and contemplating before accepting what we most believe we lack.

At last — I had arrived.

Had I arrived? Or did I merely feel relief at believing I had reached this place through my need for a goal?

I was in the Tower. Offices functioned endlessly. Something had set them in motion — unseen, unnamed. There were only people working; and it resembled the poster in my room.

Administration. The management of credentials, certificates, identity cards — endless files feeding a grey tower.

I helped Josef by altering a date, by losing a document. Yet was I naive to believe one paper could undo another? Would that not be the height of absurdity — like fighting fire with fire when there is no water?

I met the administrator — yet he was merely a representative. Poor Josef. He did not even know who condemned him, nor for what charge.

There is nothing worse than ignorance that grants meaning to itself through further ignorance — through a lack of self-knowledge.

An insect told me: the worst is not what is to come, but what is occurring now. I felt that pain — like the moment before an injection enters the arm. Not fear, but engendered ignorance.

I departed. They discovered me aiding Josef; yet we were both ensnared in the same machinery.

I came back to myself. I recovered.

Now I saw officers waiting for me.

Once more: the anxiety of certainty — that I am useless, or guilty — as though that were my own knowledge, my own gait.

And in the end, it seems anyone might lose themselves in the desire to fit into something that, perhaps, was never meant to hold them.

A neat little game.
I must admit, I'm not familiar with Kafka's works and as such, the experience was a tad odd, yet I'd say the game is nonetheless charming.

I didn't quite get the ending, it felt a little too sudden, but I understood the key narrative points. You can end up skipping a lot of the game's dialogue if you don't interact with the characters (which in many cases, you do not need to), I don't think that's a very good choice.

The puzzles are pretty straight-forward, the game does a very good job guiding to your next objective if you are lost and always offers you the tools needed to progress. The writing is very enjoyable and though it is short, it does a very solid job of establishing its small cast of characters.

The game has quite a few collectibles scattered around, ranging from easy to find to "you'll likely need a guide". They have no effect on gameplay however.

The level-design is good, the controls are responsive, I've had no technical issues with the game. It seems to have a whole other set of bonus levels called the "Gates of Law" but I haven't checked them out.

The game is, however, pretty much a walking simulator, whether that is a bad thing depends on you. I found it relaxing.
I don't think 24,50 euros is the right asking price however, would recommend you grab it on a discount. I wouldn't say it has much replayability to warrant the price either. It's a cool dive into a unique world that ends before it could get stale.

Overall, would recommand. I'd give it a 9/10

bon, commençons par les bons points, le début avec les tableaux mi-insecte et mi-humain qui nous prépare à la transformation d'humain à insecte, c'est un bon début et ensuite les parcoures en insecte qui voit un monde humain immense.
Il y a aussi le monde des documents où l'on vole sur des feuilles de papier cette partie là des visuelles intéressants.

Maintenant, ce qui m'a fait quitter le jeu, on dit souvent qu'il faut terminer un jeu pour dire qu'on aime ou pas un jeu.
Malheureusement ma patience à des limites.
Pour commencer j'aime pas les passages avec les autres insecte que je trouve mal fait et horrible ( pas de peur mais de mocheté ) et je n'aime pas les dialogues avec eux ( en moins c'est traduit en français ).
Je suis tombé sur une ville d'insecte, où il faut discuter avec tel ou tel insecte pour avancer et dont je m’en foutais de leurs histoires et j'ai donc décider d'abandonner ce jeu.

Pour moi si les parcoures et la particularité de l'univers sont bons, les passages avec les insectes dont les dialogues qui ne m'intéressé pas font que je ne recommande pas ce jeu.

Diesmal werde ich mich ein wenig kürzer fassen, als sonst.
Dieses Spiel hallt immer noch nach und ich bin total begeistert
(jetzt), anfangs dachte ich mir so meinen Teil und es wurde immer wirrer,
denn man muß sich schon ein wenig umstellen, denn man ist vorab ein
Mensch und dann, mutiert man zu einem Insekt, mit all seinen Fähigkeiten.

Genial gemacht, vor allem bei Szenen in denen sich die Richtungen ändern
und auf einmal auf dem Kopf steht. Ein geiles Abenteuer, mit viel Humor und
irrwitzigen Wegen, die es wirklich in sich haben.

Bin immer noch "Hin und Weg" von dem Spiel und kann nur sagen,
das sich der Kauf echt gelohnt hat. So ein Abenteuer hat schon was, nur
um ein Ziel zu suchen und letztendlich auch zu finden.
Nach all den Mühen, die man auf sich genommen hat, "nur" um einen Freund,
vor wem auch immer, zu retten.

Ein klares JA kann ich mit guten Gewissen geben und ich werde das Spiel mit
Sicherheit, irgendwann mal wieder, nochmals spielen, denn es macht mehr als Laune.
Es ist halt schön verrückt, aber im positiven Sinne.

Couldnt get past the part of printing the certificate at the mechanism. Rotary dial keeps clicking and pressure gauge needle just flicks back and forth but never goes higher than 2. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, verifying game files, nothing works. I even started a whole new game and got to the same point with the same results. It's the most Kafkaesque parkour platformer ever made, though it's also probably the only one that's ever been made. "Metamorphosis" mostly works as a game, though it's a tad too easy. The real allure is just seeing how Kafka's works are reinterpreted into video game format, and while I would say the results are overall mixed, this is still a pretty good game. It's based off of "The Trial" and "Metamorphosis" as you play as Gregor Samsa in Metamorphosis but witness the events of Josef K in "The Trial." These are two completely separate characters in Kafka's books, but here they are intertwined in a story that should be "Kafkaesque" but ends up being kind of convoluted nonsense. The transition of Gregor Samsa becoming a bug is well done. You never see him as a bug, but when you look down you will see his insect legs as a part of you. In the book he is human-sized, as turning into a bug is a metaphor for adulthood. Here he is literally a tiny insect who goes around Josef K's house as he is investigated by the police for a crime he has no idea he committed, which is the plot to "The Trial." Kafka's metaphors of tragic comedic irony are not very easy to interpret and I don't think the developers really understood that "Metamorphosis" is not really a story about a man turning into a bug, but I digress. As you progress you talk to other insects and climb up furniture and basically try to get a certificate so you can reach a tower to turn back into a human.

The puzzles are fun to solve, but they are also very simplistic. I really like that the dialogue and exposition often occurs in the background while you are playing, such as you running across the desk as the bug while Josef K talks to his lawyer. Occasionally you will do something to break the dialogue like hit a bell or drop a stamp and this will transition well into changing their animation and behavior. There's also a bug city and a level that is like a huge printing press. It's well done but I wish the game was harder. Most of the puzzles just solve themselves. I would've preferred more "Kafkaesque" puzzles like a puzzle in the beginning of the game where you receive a letter stating a key is well hidden when in reality it's in the exact place it was hidden before. Maybe more of that sort of comedy but with more difficulty and confusion.

The game only takes a few hours to complete and 100% completion adds a few hours. There are two endings, but they're anticlimactic and totally nonsensical, especially if you've read the books and know how these stories end. There are also references to other Kafka stories like "The Hunger Artist" but the characters are so different it barely matters. I liked it but I will probably never play it again because it's just too simplistic and easy to really be all that compelling, even though I was mesmerized the first time I made my way through it.

No pun intended, but game breaking bug in Lawyer's Desk prevents progress. After reconnecting the cable for the certificate printer, the red dial to power up the pressure gauge just endlessly clicks and resets regardless of how fast or slow you turn the dial. Attempted multiple restarts to no effect.

Very disappointing because I was actually enjoying the atmosphere and gameplay. Until fixed, do not recommend.

I really enjoyed this game, its surreal, clever, funny and has a beautiful soundtrack. It takes inspiration from Kafka’s "The Trial" and "Metamorphosis", bringing them to life in a unique light while not losing touch with the Kafkaesque themes of existentialism, absurdism and morality.

Well, it's not for everyone, and I have mixed feelings too, but I rather award creativity.

Setting: it's not a direct adaptation of Kafka's writing (thank God!), but still brings the atmosphere and the satire. Excellent, but disturbing, especially when most voicelines are disgusting mix of human speech, insect noises and grunts.
Gameplay: now this is interesting, because it contributes to the setting greatly. In most platformers, you clearly see the path, and you need to display a well timed sequence of actions to pass it. Here 70% of the difficulty comes from finding the path, due to the lack of perspective. Yes, you can press the button to get an overview of the layout, but it is still challenging to map and scale those features to what you actually see. It's a little confusing sometimes, but the most unique things in the game and really adds to the experience.

I think I would've enjoyed the game more if the dialogues would play a lesser part of the game and there would be more of the other type of used narration (basically people speaking in the background), but maybe others like those parts the best. Still, its a really creative game, but I recommend buying it on sale for its 3 hours of playtime.

I don't really have the best way to explain this game other than a very different experience. It's about a guy who wakes up as a bug and tries to find a way to turn back into human form.

However the process of this (based on the trailer and screenshots from the store page) may make you think this is just a 1st person, 3D platformer, exploration game with some simple puzzles, but it really is a trippy experience. I really recommend you play this, as you probably haven't experienced a lot of games like this.

[*] Those who've read that story will note that Gregor isn't unilaterally small (his size grows and shrinks as the narrative requires), but I can forgive that oversight. Growing too big to fit through a door as he does in the book isn't conducive to moving gameplay forward

[*] As you skitter about in search of Josef, you find a letter offering condolences for your unfortunate change in form and offering you a bureaucratic job at a mysterious organization called The Tower (essentially the titular organization in [i]The Castle[/i])
[*] Like that last novel, most of your time is spent navigating the frustrating and absurd bureaucracy in the hopes of gainful employment. Unlike that last novel, you are a bug
[*] You also find out that The Tower is overseeing a legal case against Josef. In the book, this affair culminates in an unfortunate incident at a quarry, but this game gives you an opportunity to give him a sunnier ending
[*] Ultimately, I think trying to mash together the plots of these three novels was an ambitious but misguided endeavor. Each of those three books are thematically deep and ponder some important issues of the early 20th century that still warrant consideration 100 years later. Instead, [i]Metamorphosis[/i] comes off as cheap fan service. [*] Kafka's work wasn't impressive because of the surrealism or absurdity. It was impressive due to how well he managed to depict the struggle of the common man against undefeatable and incomprehensible forces

I’m a bit conflicted with this game.

On one hand, it’s a game that features a story inspired by Franz Kafka’s works with basic platforming mechanics and simple puzzles. I do enjoy these types of games. That’s exactly how the game is advertised and that’s exactly what you get. This is why I’m not giving it a thumbs down.

On the other hand though, I expected a different experience than what I got. Before playing this game, I read Franz Kafka’s “Metamorphosis” and know of his other works that the game is clearly inspired by, “The Trial” and “The Castle”. The common theme among all of these stories is a feeling of powerlessness and anxiety when faced with higher influences out of your control. That’s what makes Kafka’s stories so special. It’s what makes them “kafkaesque”.

In my opinion, the plot of this game is evidently NOT kafkaesque. Yeah, the character you play as is turned into a bug by mysterious forces, but he has a ton of personal agency throughout the story, making steady progress toward his goals even though he got turned into a bug. The main character doesn’t really struggle throughout the game. This is VERY unlike Kafka’s “Metamorphosis”. In fact, not much is similar between this game and Kafka’s story, really only that the main character shares the same name and got turned into a bug. It shares much more similarities with his other works, but I was expecting more “Metamorphosis” in this game given that they have the same title. This was pretty disappointing. But again, there was nothing that explicitly said that the story would be kafkaesque, so I can’t blame the developers and I guess it would be hard to tell a kafkaesque story through the video game medium since progression and character agency is typically a part of playing games.

Having said all that, I’d recommend this to those that want to play a simple puzzle game that features a lot of Kafka references, but don’t expect much more than that.

100% Achievement Completion Perspective:
Most achievements are story related. There are some multiple ending achievements, but you can also replay any chapter you want after beating the game. There is one collectible-finding achievement that wasn’t that fun to get because the collectibles don’t unlock anything, so it felt like a bit of a waste.

This is a fun little puzzle game where you play from the perspective of a bug. I really love how unique & creative this is. It gives me Honey, I Shrunk The Kids & Grounded vibes. I enjoyed the story, puzzles, music, humor, talking to the bugs, solving their problems & exploring the world. It also has this interesting blend between realism & surrealism that I like. It's a short game if you just zoom through it, but I recommend taking the time to explore, talk to the bugs & even going for the achievements. I wish there were more games like this.

A delightful short experience that I just happened to stumble upon, and I'm glad I did. The soundtrack and level design made me feel like I'm playing a level from Psychonauts. I like the goofy little bugs.

Fini Metamorphosis en quatre heures et demie.

C'est un petit jeu de plateforme à la première personne inspiré du roman La Métamorphose de Franz Kafka mêlé un peu de l'histoire du Procès.
Le personnage se réveille transformé en cafard et part à la recherche d'une explication.

Les + :

- l'univers kafkaïen fait des références culturelles de la Prague de l'époque et de tracasseries bureaucratiques
- l'impression de petitesse de l'insecte qu'on incarne, les niveaux qui donnent une impression de gigantisme, le mélange de lieux familiers et d'univers oniriques et bizarres
- le gameplay simple et intuitif ; on devine facilement où aller, où sauter et quoi faire
- la bestiole qu'on incarne se déplace avec aisance, court vite et peut grimper à la verticale dans certaines conditions

Les - :

- c'est absolument pas next gen, c'est pas toujours joli, les environnements tiennent la route (si on n'est pas exigeant) mais les personnages humains sont plutôt hideux et animés comme des automates
- le saut long est bizarre, il faut sauter et accélérer comme un dash, ce qui n'est pas très intuitif, vu que ce n'est pas un dash

Bref, petit indé sans prétention et sans moyens mais qui a pour lui de faire un clin d'œil à l'œuvre de Kafka tout en étant pas désagréable à jouer.
