Even after 2 decades, the core gameplay loop is still very fun. I used to play MMBN 3 years ago on the GBA but never got beyond 2-3 bosses, so it's nice to have finally completed the games now in two neat collections.

My only gripes with it are that it could have been one ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ collection and some textures have been HD-ified without the option to choose the original pixel look, but I suppose that can be overlooked if the games themselves remain unaltered otherwise.

Unless you know this game, you may want to rethink cause this was a Gameboy advance game. So it was made for on the go. So ask yourself

A) Do I have a Steam deck
B) Am I here to get in that grey area of I own it so I can pirate it on my phone
C) Online

Good game, but not something you want just on a PC. That being said, it is about 20 years old game for a mobile platform. It is good cause modern gameing takes no risk and does not build on the old roads.

That being said, I expect hate from the people that grew up on this. I point out my comments clearly point this review is for people born after 2000.

Really big fan of the Megaman Battle Network games, here! (Especially Battle Chip Challenge and Network Transmission, which have, unfortunately, not been remastered nor added to these collections.)
I was glad to finally have a way to buy all of the games I have yet to play in one (well, okay, *two*) full collections of remastered games. I love the UI (looks like your own PET!) and I'm certain the games are as great as the originals (with slightly better graphics). These games present you with the option to play in different languages with at least two of those options being English and the original Japanese. Since I am familiar with the game mechanics from Megaman Battle Network 5 and I am still studying Japanese, I selected Japanese for both the voicing and text. This feels like great practice for my Japanese, though ***please be warned*** that many of the characters have dialogue written in katakana instead of the normal hiragana and kanji that people would typically use for those words. For many beginner Japanese learners, this may sound like it will make reading a lot easier, but I found it to be far more difficult than reading in a style more reminiscent of regular modern Japanese.
I would recommend these games to anyone who likes "deck-building" type games with a little bit of action thrown in. These are older games (and may still have a retro style by today's games' standards) but still have an amazing appeal due to their incredible depth of strategy, decent story length, and range of challenge presented in both normal enemy encounters and boss fights. This makes for games that truly rival some of the more recently made deck-builder genre games in terms of challenge and overall fun. If you are at all unsure about these games, please either try a demo (if one is available?) or look up clones of this game and see if there are any demos for those games. Hopefully you will get a better sense of how fun these games are that way AND notice how many games have tried to copy some of the most exceptional aspects of this particular collection of games.

Позвольте мне объясниться: жанр jrpg я не понимаю от слова "совершенно", и это самое непонимание я предпринял попытку преодолеть при помощи такой необычной серии игр. Я вообще знаком с bn очень давно, у меня есть бутлег приставка на базе gba, там было две игры этой серии, хз какие именно, в одной я просто запутался, в другой меня отъе⁠бала какая-то печка, но вроде было прикольно: графоний хороший, музло приятное, посему я решил данную коллекцию заиметь и распробовать.

[h1]БОЛЬШАЯ. ОШИБКА.[/h1]

Давайте сразу к делу - чтобы преуспеть в bn это надо быть каким-то гением-надмозгом с планеты Земля. В чём здесь суть - вы сражаетесь на поле 6 блоков в длину и 3 блока в ширину, изначально половина поля отдана вашему оппоненту, половина - вам. В рамках вашей области можно маневрировать [u]не по диагонали[/u]. Подавляющему большинству врагов насрать, они телепортируются в любых направлениях. На старте и в процессе боя вам будут предлагать выбирать чипы, что представляют собой эдакие специальные атаки. Бл⁠ядство заключается в том, что каждый чип имеет индекс, это буква после названия чипа: a, b, c и т.д., всего вы можете на бой подготовить 30 чипов. Смотрите в чём пиз⁠дец: в рамках одного выбора чипов, вы можете послать своему болванчику до пяти чипов за раз, чтобы тот смог применить их в бою. Можно залпом послать одинаковые чипы с разным индексом, однако игра не позволяет ставить больше десяти одинаковых чипов в сборку, также есть ограничение не более пяти чипов нетнави на колоду. Можно собирать чипы с одинаковым индексом и посылать вообще что хочешь... вернее, не можно, потому что у чипов есть строго ограниченная выборка индексов, которая дропается по совершенно непонятному принципу и многие чипы тупо друг с другом не сочитаются по индексу. Помимо этого, всё таки можно забить дубликатами чипов по 10 штук, руку можно собрать из чипов с идентичным названием и разным индексом. И казалось бы, можно было бы взять пару дубликатов с разными индексами и по этому принципу собрать сильную руку из разных индексов... [b]НЕ МОЖНО[/b], сарсомовцы об этом не подумали... или подумали, тогда это троекратное бл⁠ядство, мне это неизвестно. Собственно, либо е⁠бётесь ху⁠й знает сколько времени с фармом 10 дубликатов трёх разных видов, либо собираете всю колоду из разных чипов с одинаковыми индексами, что увеличивает "е⁠бётесь ху⁠й знает сколько времени" десятикратно, и как описать такие потери времени словами я не знаю, и это не выбрасывая из памяти, что подавляющее большинство чипов в игре абсолютно бесполезны или быстро таковыми становятся, т.к многие противники перемещаются как е⁠банутые, не дают возможности увернуться, не реактятся или просто имеют атаки, которые слишком быстры и пробивают любые замахи на своей линии.

Подытоживая всё вышесказанное - [b]БЛ⁠ЯДСТВО[/b], товарищи. Просто невыносимый, издевательский рандом, где вы практически никак не развиваетесь по ходу игры. На ху⁠й из моей жизни! У меня всё.

gba로 발매한 에그제를 이식한 덕에 키보드로도 충분히 조작이 편한 게임이고
고전 휴대기 게임인 만큼 사양도 그닥 안 타는 편

pc판도 1~5까지는 한글화가 완료 되어 있기에 당신이 에그제 시리즈(게임)에 애정이 있다던가 스토리가 궁금하다 던가 하면 사볼 만 합니다.

다만 게임이 원래도 지랄 맞기로 유명한 게임이라 5걸음 안에 몹 인카운트가 계속 뜹니다 씨발
고전게임 특유의 무작위 인카운트(존나많다)를 못 버티는데 에그제는 해보고 싶다 하면 무조건 버스터 max 모드 키고 하시길 바랍니다.

멀티 플레이는 크로스 플랫폼이 지원 안되는 만큼 pc는 pc끼리 스위치는 스위치 끼리 라는 단점이 있지만
본토는 아직도 gba로 대면 대전 하던데 의미 있긴 한가?

초등학생때 영어도 일본어도 제대로 몰라서 공략에 의존하면서 겜 했었는데
나이먹고 다시하니까 감회가 남다름

고전게임이라 불편한점은 많이 있지만(세이브라던가, 랜덤인카운터라던가)
나름 재밌게 해볼만한 작품

Netcode sucks, wish it was rollback netcode to be on par with Tango. Also hoped that rank was more competitively structured since you can cheat ratio, but it's irrelevant since netcode blows. Outside of that, it's a really great port! I use it on Steam Deck and highly recommend using mods to make the font like the OG GBA ports, and other qol features that make the experience different from previous BN ports (GBA, Wii U). Also they made the Event Chips legal and distributed so that's cool. Trading with friends/users to replicate the original experience with modern tech is neat. BN2 PvP meta is a bit different from OG since they fixed an issue from the previous ports when it came to receiving * codes from chip traders, so now they are distributed as originally intended with the offset that retro trader isn't a thing anymore, so there's that. As a result, you have chips * chips that you wouldn't receive in previous ports, pretty cool. But at the same time, you cannot legally acquire the complete letter chips for the retro trader sets. Basically if you're a BN fan, you'll appreciate this port for offline campaign, otherwise Tango for PvP, unless you appreciate the micro changes to the meta for BN2 & 3 (more apparent in 2 > 3).
