i miss heavy metal machines
At this point im not sure how its not fraud to advertise chests that 98% of the time dont open. Bought the BP, cant even get those chests to open. Got a silver chest, cant open that one either. Keeps telling me Soemthing happened and i will get the rewards when i log back in. Id say over 100 chests now with nothing to show for them.
No matchmaking to speak of. Ive been frozen and had to drop the game and restart multiple times trying to queue. Glitched at the "Joining match" wordage for 15m+. More of the same from Skeam.

Me encanta este juego. El diseño de cada barco es muy original y cada uno tiene un estilo de juego muy diferente. Tengo tres peticiones que podrían mejorar el juego:
1. Añadir jefes, quizás grandes navíos de guerra PNJ o pequeños monstruos marinos que dejen caer potenciadores únicos. Al momento de escribir esta reseña, solo hay dos monstruos marinos y ambos son prácticamente invencibles.
2. Añadir una facción de elfos. Tenemos humanos, orcos y enanos. Creo que los elfos encajarían perfectamente dentro del juego.
3. Mejorar los controles, son muy toscos y a veces el barco tarda mucho en girar, o gira demasiado
A pesar de mis peticiónes, el juego es muy divertido y es gratuito, así que nada impide que cualquiera lo pruebe.

Maelstrom is a testament to what a dedicated team and a strong community can build. Even though the game launched in 2019, it is kept alive by the caring players and devs.
Maelstrom Rise is a naval themed battle royale, where players battle solos or in teams of three, trying to be the last player/team standing.
That in itself is a great genre, but Maelstrom ups the game by introducing a huge number of variables that turn the gameplay from a simple battle royale into a very deep and complex skill based game.
The maps follow the standard shrinking method of directing players to eventually fight each other, but you also need to take into account environment aspects like maelstroms that suck you in and sink your ship, fog banks where enemies can hide and surprise you, all while fighting small ships in order to secure power ups that may guarantee your win.
Yet, this is only a fraction of what the title offers. You have at your disposal a number of different upgrades for your ship, different hardpoints (which heavily affect your build and gameplay), a vast number of different mates, that you equip as crew in your ship, different classes of ships with different passive skills and even captains with special abilities and skill trees.
The game offers both PVP and PVE modes, simple yet very beautiful graphics, amazing lighting and water details, excellent sounds and an overall fantastic experience.
That in itself would justify even a higher price tag, but the fact that the game delivers all his content 100% free and with absolutely no pay-to-win mechanics is something else!
If you have not yet tried Maelstrom, do it. You are in for a treat!

It's a pretty cool Ship Combat game that simply see's rough sea's with playerbase retention. We just can't seem to keep a healthy amount of people playing actively.
The game has undergone many changes and a Developer change as well but it hasn't been enough to grab mass attention.
Hoping the new Devs can breath High Winds into our sails and give us a new and exciting update surely to bring old and new players en masse.

You can play against bots, but they arent much of a challenge. There is some single player content, but I havent gotten through much of it.
Honestly, if you like boats and want some chill gaming, its alright.
But if you are going to get something out of it you need to put in a fair amount of investment, resource or time wise and I cant really recommend that.

Arrrgh, 10/10 pirate game you can play with your maties. I was disappointed when this game went offline in 2021, and so I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it has been revived after 3 years of hiatus. I hope they advertise this game because the player base is quite small despite the game's potential. Even if your games are filled with bots, it can still be quite a bit of fun. Very grindy ftp monetization system, but the matchmaking is based on your ship's power so you won't just lose to P2W players.

Fun game to play every now and then at the moment you'll run into bots but since the new devs showed up the old players have started coming back so if you check the chat you might find someone to play with.
One downside is after you reach 3000 power you'll run into players with insane buffs if they have unlocked all their captains powers. But other then that it's a good game to play on the weekends.

Maelstrom's some of the best sailing combat you can find if you like Sid Meier's Pirates! Live the Life. There's not much competition out there sadly, but that doesn't mean this is just the best of a bad bunch. I think it lives up to the combat of Pirates!, though I do wish it had more single player content. Even if it were paid content.
I liked it a lot. The dwarf ships are really cool looking. I hope more people find this hidden gem.
The game is actually fun and perfect for unwinding when you're bored. However, it has some shortcomings. For instance, clan and country flags or similar cosmetics could be added to the ships. A ranking system and a few different maps would also be nice.
The tutorial was flashing text with me, clipping elements and the audio screamed at times, the ships them selves feel a little bulky to controll 2, i dunno man, i dont think this is my type of game, or its just not as incredible as the trailer makes it look, cool theme doe, looks a lot like one of those old early 2Ks games.
I used to play this game when it first came out and it was amazing and still is. Let's make this game alive again people it's worth it

I'm not really into Online games but since I already got the key I might as well try to review it.
I think that this is - for now - by far one the best "Ship Battle Games" I played. (and honestly, I didn't play much of them). The battle is consistent, the graphics nice and the challenges good enough to keep you playing.
There are 3 races you can choose from, and you have to choose carefully with whom you're fighting to be able to win the game. This might be challenging in the first parst but can surely catch up pretty fast if you just take a good look at the descriptions.
The game is F2P for now as much as I know. So just go and grab the game and check it out for yourself.

Залетайте с друзьями, можно соло, сейчас мало народу, но катки быстро собираются. Если попадете на игроков игра раскрывается и адреналин будет обеспечен!

The game is ok, with a good variety of boats to tweak.
The main modes are PvP arena battle royale style, but there are some fun PvE modes.
PvP modes are completed with bots, what is good because the game is empty of humans, but you can still find some players time to time.
In game there is a message to join their Discord for help. I had some problems receiving bonuses, and was also trying to find other players to play.
I could not do much in their Discord, everything was locked and there was instructions to message one of the admins/mods (I do not remember their role), which I did. Some Discord servers have places to agree with terms, if there was, I did not find it. Neither more instructions o how to seek help.
While trying to find more instructions I read that they are going for crypto and blockchain, what is sad because I was enjoying the game.

The game is well built, it's quite f2p friendly there are some premium stuff but you can easily grind them in less than a month. All ships are quite different from each other and you can feel their playstyle when you use them. It's fun and there is no reason for someone to not play it.
An awesome game with an incredibly fun loop. More strategic and slower paced than most battle royales, the battles in Maelstrom are super fun (esp with friends) and can get very hectic!

So found this game through some friends in discord. Its a fun game, there are a few issues so far with servers at times and matchmaking. The team just acquired the game so I am looking forward to some improvements as they go. They are super excited about the game, have multiple hours in it themselves, and are super responsive to the community. Game is fun, Has some issues, look forward to them rocking out and stamping those bugs out!
Really fun game, just needs more players. There is a lot of strategic depth and room for a variety of different play-styles, both obvious and unorthodox.

Great -> water physics, tons of customizations, and ships.
Mid -> matchmaking is ok, but looking forward to the upcoming improvements.
Bad -> I lose a lot.

Really fun game, needs more players. Game is being worked on again, brought back to life. VERY solid base for an amazing game. with more maps, skins, missions it will be something very nice for people who love fantasy and ship combat.

The naval battles in this game had me leaning left and right over my keyboard as I positioned my ship for a perfect, satisfying volley. Battles move quickly and are more fun with your friends loyal crew. The PVP is just as intense as the PVE/gauntlet mode. You can really feel the difference with each upgrade to your ship. I love being able to play as fantasy races and build a head canon around my crew choices. The vehicle design is like a Twisted Metal or Heavy Metal Machines but for boats. Sure, my ship has sails, but I carved my path of destruction towed behind a veritable sea monster (so we know who's doing the heavy lifting). In short: download it. Queue up. Let me claim your bounty.

Matches full of bots. Steamcharts says under 20 players online. But hard battle pass, shops, P2W and so on. Just let it die.
