This is a fun game but It requires a little help from the user just to get an image on screen.

Both Steamdeck and Windows 11 won't do anything after launching the game unless i try to stop the app in Steam, then... only then... does the game take me through the logo screens and to the menu where I can play the game like normal... while Steam is literally in the middle of stopping the app is the only way i can get it to work but it never crashes out or anything until i exit the game from it's own menu.... THEN, Steamdeck is fine, but Windows 11 requires a full system reboot to regain control of Steam because Steam freezes-up and won't even restart the Steam app without full system reboot.... seriously. I reinstalled it several times on both devices and got the same results consistently. Seems pretty broken to me. otherwise 7/10

Un roguelite de acción con elementos RPG que te sumerge de lleno en los Mitos de Cthulhu. Lejos de ser solo un "mata-mata", este título exige gestionar la investigación y el combate mientras controlas a cinco personajes distintos, cada uno con su propia trama, en niveles generados proceduralmente que destilan horror cósmico.

🧠 La Esencia: La gestión de la cordura. A diferencia de otros juegos donde solo importa la vida, aquí el conocimiento es peligroso. Leer demasiados libros prohibidos o ver estatuas impías te da pistas, pero drena tu mente hasta el suicidio, obligándote a equilibrar la curiosidad con la supervivencia.

🔫 Mecánicas: Mezcla el combate estilo twin-stick shooter (disparar con dos joysticks) con la resolución de puzzles y gestión de inventario. Cada personaje cambia radicalmente la jugabilidad: el detective usa escopeta, la bruja magia y el profesor ciencia, lo que aporta mucha variedad a cada "run".

🎨 Aspecto Técnico: Un pixel art detallado y oscuro que logra transmitir terror a pesar de la perspectiva cenital. La ambientación sonora es envolvente, con efectos y música que refuerzan la tensión constante de no saber qué hay en la siguiente habitación.

Lovecraft's Untold Stories es el tipo de juego que te dice “bienvenido al horror cósmico” y acto seguido te avienta a mazmorras con perspectiva isométrica para que resuelvas el misterio a punta de esquivar, disparar y rezarle a Cthulhu… o al botón de curación. Es una mezcla sabrosa de Acción + Aventura + Indie + Rol: combates rápidos, exploración en escenarios generados/variados, progresión del personaje y esa sensación constante de “algo salió mal” (spoiler: siempre).

La primera impresión es clara: esto no quiere ser una novela interactiva, quiere ser un roguelite/ARPG con vibra lovecraftiana, donde cada sala puede ser tu última terapia emocional. Y sí, es un juego para un jugador: estás solo contra el universo, como en la vida adulta.

Lovecraft's Untold Stories es “muy bueno” porque entiende lo esencial: ritmo de acción, progresión tipo rol y una ambientación que te hace sentir pequeño, indefenso y probablemente culpable por abrir ese cofre. No reinventa el género, pero lo ejecuta con suficiente personalidad como para que el horror no se sienta de utilería.

Eso sí: con 1 jugador activo, este juego es como un libro maldito en una biblioteca vacía… el que lo encuentra se obsesiona. Y con 666 recomendaciones totales, la comunidad básicamente ya hizo el chiste por nosotros: esto no es una reseña, es una invocación.

I recommend this game. BUT!!!! It is very frustrating. 1. Play on easy. Build up your stash of items and then you can replay stories on higher difficulties. 2. Combat always seems to either go super well for you or super bad for you. You either murder everyone or get cornered and have the ever loving poop out of you losing you like an hour of progress and having to restart a level. 3. To activate the crystals you get that unlock other bosses don't forget to touch the console near the pentagram. Otherwise, you may end up replaying through multiple characters stories for 40 hours trying to figure out why you can't attack other bosses. So much time wasted. 4. The Zoog Gourd (a pumpkin) and the Noden's amulet are essential but really rare. I don't know if you can get the amulet before doing the Witch's story. 5. The witch will die if sneezed on. 6. You can use the special books (Al-Azif, Necronomicon, the other one) to farm items. It spawns enemies though so make sure you are armed before reading it

At first I was shocked. Then I realized cthulhu is not real. Gameplay is a bit unintuitive at first but after some time you get used to it. Shooting is done automatically by pushing joystick, not the best solution really because you can't always tell where you're aiming. Ammunition is infinite so basically blast as much as you like. Dodging over traps and obstacles or enemies for temporal invulnerability. Ambience is nice and gloomy, you gonna fight many cthulhu monsters, undead, cultists, spiders and other creatures. Overall there's 5 chapters, some containing multiple locations (floors in this case). Some rooms must be purified from monsters to unblock the exits. Save rooms or merchant rooms to exchange money and investigation points for some goodies. Goal is not clear but usually you have to find some clues and activate something when you get required items, after that boss fight. Keep sanity in touch or risk losing life when it gets to certain point, some items like chocolate bar reduce it. Equipping your character with better gear is needed later on. To unlock new characters you have to find specific room and do clear some objective first like deactivating all switches. Music is dark and make up for spooky horror. Is this game worth your time? If you like dark roguelite adventures with cthulhu based monsters and gloomy ambience then probably yes.

At first, I like the game. Good character design, nice visuals and dark atmosphere etc make the game playable. As a Lovecraft enthusiast, world of the Untold Stories makes me feel the sense of uneasieness of the game. I liked it, but game is hard. For some players, that makes it more enjoyable. It was like that me for a while, but i couldn't progress the game after a point or it was so slow. Then i change the difficulty, after that there were less enviromental elements. Whole level/map looks empty. Besides, it was still hard a little bit. So, this game is a wasted potential.

Franchement le jeu est très dur et comme en plus il ne vous aide pas du tout, vous allez souffrir.
+ 5 personnages (dont 4 à débloquer) avec une façon de jouer différente.
+ Beaucoup d'objets avec de nombreux effets
+ Des énigmes pour vous griller les 3 neurones qu'il vous reste.
+ Direction artistique très soignée avec un bonne connaissance de l'univers.

Evidemment il y a quelques défauts :
- Pas de traduction française et comme il y a pas mal de texte lié à l'univers de Lovecraft, cela peut-être compliqué.
- Difficulté très élevée pour les combats, même en facile.
- Quelques bogues, mais généralement c'est que le jeu n'étant pas limpide, vous allez râler sur un bogue qui n'en n'est pas un.

Bref, si vous n'aimez pas souffrir passer votre chemin.

Что мы имеем? Точнее, что имеет нас? Неторопливые персонажи с медленным оружием против пачек телепортирующихся из темноты сверхживучих мобов-спринтеров с кислотной кровью в узких маленьких локациях полных гумозных ловушек, ваншотящие боссы. Кривая стрельба на джойстике. Разбросанные по локациям в большом количестве бесполезные аптечки не лечат кровотечение и ожоги, каковые получаешь чаще и проще, чем моргаешь. И это уже на лёгком уровне сложности.
Не приближайтесь к этому... Оно проклято. Оно вас сломает. Оно не создано для людей. Это что-то близкое по духу к Ghost'n Goblins. Это человеконенавистническое нечто, которое сожжёт ваши нервы, время, душу и веру в разумное доброе и вечное, что неизменно пребывает на грани нашего мира и извечной вселенной, полной безграничного кошмара и бесконечных мучений за пределами ограниченного человеческого понимания... Какая психушка!? Вы чё угораете что ли? Чё вы меня берёте сюда? Не надо меня сюда брать!!! Это вы кого вызвали!? Вы чё угораете что ли? Какую дурку? Вы чё угораете что ли!?

Bien fait, propose des alternatives intéressantes dans le cas des objets fixes dans les pièces que l'on peu trouver. Interagir avec eux, si oui de quelle façon. Même si parfois on devine qu'il ne vaut mieux pas y toucher, le jeu propose toujours une solution dangereuse probablement mais qui peut être riche en récompense.
L'esprit des mythes de Lovecraft est très bien rendu.

It's a good game. If you're a Lovecraft nerd, or are buying it for someone who is, it has a treasure trove of references and seems to understand the source material pretty well in my opinion (or as well as one can for something as vague as the Cthulhu Mythos).
The game does a good job of capturing the aesthetics of Lovecraftian horror. While ostensibly an action game, the ambience and music is very good at setting the atmosphere and reminding you it is also a horror game. The graphics are well done for it's medium of pixel style, I find myself taking in a lot of the little details here and there. And where the pixel art can only show so much, the imagination can easily fill in the blanks, especially when it comes to some of the more gruesome bits.
The characters are all very fun to play in their own unique ways. They also offer a good addendum to some of Lovecraft's original stories (such as the Detective, the Thief and the Ghoul). Each level is worth exploring fully to gain a better scope of the plot, as well as to just take in the sights.
Can be a little difficult at times, especially on certain levels, particularly the jungle ones. But part of that is overcome by learning how the characters are meant to be played properly, as well as how to use items, power-ups and artefacts. And while I like to kinda play it casually, it does demand a fair bit of attention while playing. It is clear, though, that the developers meant for this game to be a challenge. There are a few bugs here and there, but it's not a deal breaker.

A ver, está bien, la ambientación me gusta mucho y las piezas de lore que vas consiguiendo son interesantes, el combate como tal es sencillo, los enemigos no son la gran cosa y no suponen mucho peligro, los mini eventos no me gustan, te dan o lore o simplemente son para experimentarlos pero el 90% de ellos si los activas te hacen perder cordura, si sabes que probablemente todo te haga lo mismo, mejor ni activarlos. No sé si de verdad recomendaría el juego pero interesante es y si te interesa lovecraft o la estética vale la pena al menos probarlo. El pixel art por cierto es muy bonito. 5/10.

this game has a cool vibe and an interesting story, but its far too difficult and repetitive to enjoy.

my biggest issues:
(1) your character is just so slow compared to the enemies
(2) most enemies give some kind of curse or status and the items to fix it are too scarce

this game encourages exploration (you need it to beat the game), but the exploration is very risky since you are fragile. so, to progress the story, you die time after time until you lose interest.

shame that this game has such great artwork, but not many players will see it because of the overly difficult game design.

i don't recommend this game unless they put out a "baby" story-mode difficulty.

Пропал на баге весь лут на Шубу в шаге от победы, заново его искать нет моих больше сил! Побойтесь Древних богов - игра воспринимается как супер сырой и недоделанный продукт. Отсылки и пасхалки - это конечно круто, но Дагон умирающей от торпеды в голову и Шуба к которой чтобы попасть нужно всю душу отдать - это дикий дисбаланс и совсем, совсем, совсем не интересно. Lovecraft's Untold Stories is a frustratingly difficult action rogue-like. Five characters offer varying play styles across ~50 well-randomized levels. However, each level is quite long, typically taking 1-2 hours to complete. The game offers effectively no option* to save while playing through a level, committing the player to a long session every time. This is worsened by the extreme difficulty of the game - any death requires restarting a new, randomized version of the same level from the beginning. The only way to reliably beat many of the levels is to first spend much more time grinding out resources (enough invincibility and invisibility power-ups to get through a character's story), then using the game's shared inventory feature to carry those over to your next play through. Overall, be prepared to either spend several months to get through this game or be willing to cheat.

*About half the levels have a single use checkpoint room. You have to find it first though, and it's often advantageous to hold off on using it until the level is nearly complete.

I love Cthulhu mythos and I tried to like this game, but I cant.
Even on easy is super hard.
Every enemy hit applies dot. Sometimes even 2. Oh you removed it with bandage? too bad that in 0.05 seconds u get another dot.
Levels are cluttered with random objects that you get stuck to so you can reliably dodge enemies.
And Traps every 5 meters wont help either

This game is an exercise in persistence and masochism, in all the bad ways possible. The enemies can easily overrun you, because some maps are tiny and cluttered with random environmental junk, what can you do? Not much.

Most of the enemies apply a DOT effect (bleeding, poison, acid). This is a guarantee, meaning you run out of ways to mend it pretty quickly. Items are scarce, and the way you find more is breakable containers and locked chests. Did I mention these can be destroyed (easier than the junk heaps that hides enemies and blocks movement), and then you get nothing out of them?

Added on top of the environmental blockades, there's also traps! Fun! Now you've got even less room to navigate an already messy area. Did you die? Aw, well back to the start, after you've wasted an hour trying to complete the area.

I love how bullet spongy some enemies are. I don't know if hits don't register properly, or they get invincibility frames. This is also amazing on the Jungle level (which a great number of people already mentioned). There's huge trees which start spamming a barrage of orbs which cause sanity damage. They also run around at mach 3, faster than you, somehow. The orbs are impossible to dodge in small areas, while you're being chased by five other enemies that won't drop dead.

Everything works against you. Including the sorting system in the Strange Place.

If you look at the achievement completion rate, everything will be clear. We drop from 40% to 10% in four achievements. The leftover ones are all sub 5%, more specifically they hover slightly above 1%.

I really would like to enjoy this game, and I've tried over and over since 2020, but it's just so poorly balanced, designed and thought-through. The devs are extremely stubborn and just insist that everyone else is at fault and simply don't know how to play the game.

I beat this game and i have to say that I loved every second of it
all 5 characters are all fun and unique and it was fun following there own unique stories that all serve towards the same goal
the final bosses were great.
each level was interesting to play and made you search to find out how to progress and find secrets which are often references to Lovecraft books or other classic horror stories/novels it made me feel like a genius.

overall I strongly recommend this game if you are a fan of rouglikes and horror games.

This is great. The negative reviews are a bit rough because I suppose some people don't know what a rogue-like game is.

I've been playing roguelikes for years - Nethack, Rogue and then later incarnations like Noita and there is no save, there is no safety, there is no quiet happy place you can peace out and chill.

Instead. You are in an unforgiving and brutal world. One miststep - as in real life and you are dead.

If you love roguelikes and you are prepared to drive yourself around the bend in an attempt to save all of humanity where a single error sends you beyond madness and time and space then you will likely like this game.

If you want a game that holds your hand and makes everying so, so, so easy then run away. Run away NOW!!!

This Lovecraft inspired roguelike is truly a hidden gem. I wouldn't even call it Lovecraft inspired as I feel it is the most respectful and detailed representation of Lovecraft's writing I have found in a game. The lore is incredibly rich and true to the original, and beautifully written. It's always a pleasure to find game developers who take their time to add in researched, well written dialogues and descriptions, without forgetting the gameplay.

That's one of the things that struck me the most, as well as the sheer quantity of game content. You have so many different settings and enemies, as well as 5 characters each with a gameplay style that differs considerably from the others. Each of these characters has a different storyline, which also gives them different personalities and ways they react to events and their surroundings. That was a pleasure to see.

I appreciated the fact that despite being a roguelike, your run doesn't have to end completely if you die. You instead restart the stage, which is very fair considering this is not an easy game, especially on the Hard difficulty. You also get to keep and store items, so that you may use them in future runs.

All in all a very fun game, full to the brim with Lovecraft's mythos. Like someone else already mentioned, the game will be even better going in with some knowledge of Lovecraft, as the game sometimes might assume you already know some of it.

[i]Нарратив[/i]: текстовые описания передают ту самую атмосферу Лавкрафтовских ужасов неизвестного из глубокого космоса, неизвестной непостижимости и ничтожности по сравнению с существами высшего порядка.
[i]Отсылки[/i] на творчество Лавкрафта, По, Чемберса и других последователей и продолжателей. И всё вплетено в сюжет весьма грамотно и интересно. Есть все монстры из бестиария: и глубоководные, и змеелюды, и Ми-Го, и Молодняк Шуб-Ниггурат, и Ктулхи, и даже [spoiler]Гончие Тиндалоса[/spoiler] А ещё на Эша и Оживших Мертвецов, да...

[i]Весьма бережно переданные каноны произведений Лавкрафта и его последователей[/i]: можно, безусловно, напихать отсылок, но заявить "я художник, я так вижу" и вывернуть под свою идею, изменив до неузнаваемости...
[i]Механика потери рассудка[/i]: всё как и положено - где космические ужасы, там и безумие, и все персонажи весьма красочно умирают (кроме одного, но у него участь хуже смерти) от потери рассудка, двое заканчивают суицидом, двоих убивает их же оружие...
[i]Скрытые алтари и эффекты[/i]: сюда опишу и эффект от получения "благословений" (используешь алтарь - получаешь артефакт древнего и его проклятье), так и целый ряд статус эффектов - и ожог, и отравление, и переломы, и паразиты...
[i]Отсутствие багов[/i]: может мне повезло, но игра не баговала, не критовала и вообще, с технической точки зрения кроме ряда моментов, о которых ниже, игралась весьма комфортно.
Что показалось неоднозначным
[i]Несбалансированность персонажей[/i]: возможно так и задумано, но за ту же Воровку я не умер ни разу вообще, в то время как за того же Профессора я умирал неизвестно сколько раз, в том числе и от потери рассудка (Проклятые Джунгли и Антарктика передают привет!) (И за Ведьму Джунгли тоже...). Детектив играется вполне приятно и комфортно, да и враги у него не такие специфичные в истории, а "его" Великий Древний [spoiler]Дагон[/spoiler] отъезжает весьма без проблем, даже если не собрать о нём всю информацию.
[i]Стресс можно снимать только поеданием шоколада[/i], почему нельзя пропустить станчик виски, выкурить сигару или сигарету (и получить и от того и от того дебаффы), вопрос нетривиальный, но не смертельный.
[i]Механика зачистки комнаты[/i]: пока в комнате осталась хоть одна личинка, выйти из неё нельзя без специального предмета и она не считается пройденной, что иногда заставляет или лазить в поисках затаившегося моба, ждать, пока он сам на тебя выйдет, как в айзеке. Понимаю, что это сделано для предотвращения быстрой пробежки до босса, но всё же...
[b]Что не понравилось[/b]
[i]Скудное звуковое оформление[/i]: только озвучка персонажей не подкачала, а вот музыка (эмбиент), причём что боевая, что "не боевая" кроме главного меню и "хаба" имеет три-четыре варианта, похожа друг на друга, меняется если погиб, и к тому же не делает разницы от локации. Звуки гибели мобов одинаковые, будь это культисты, молодняк Шуб-Ниггурат, глубоководные или Таящийся у Порога - всё одно.
[i]Несбалансированность врагов[/i]: это не претензия к сложности, как я уже писал, Воровкой я прошёл все главы, даже не вспотев (и [u]всех древних[/u]), но в тех же Джунглях, в которых мы встречаем [spoiler]Йига[/spoiler] и [spoiler]Тсатхоггуу[/spoiler] Змеелюди вместе с Молодняком Шуб-Ниггурат нормально уживаются, а в следующем подуровне за Ведьму тебе надо найти её культистов и убить, поскольку царь этого места их не любит. Апогей - [spoiler]Древний Шоггот[/spoiler] в главе Профессора, который, внимание: порождает других шогготов, превращает игру в буллет-хелл и регенерирует! Это был единственный момент, когда у меня просел фпс в игре и вообще она сильно стала лагать - потому что весь экран в его плевках, плевках других шогготов и самих шогготах, а ты один...

Отлично! Children of Morta [strike]здорового человека[/strike] для любителей Лавкрафта. Акцент сделан не на боёвке, противники скорее несложные даже на высокой сложности (впрочем, я всё-таки вернулся к нормальной, чтобы не отлетать от боссов после часовой зачистки уровня). Как всегда, больше раздражают ловушки, кислота на полу и т.д.

Но игра не про это. Сколько же там всего... мини-квесты, квесты, квесты на напарников, скрытые квесты. Всё это с отсылками к книгам. Некоторые вещи могут тебе помочь, а некоторые лучше вообще не трогать, любой вариант взаимодействия окончится плохо. Основная задача, как я понял, победить 5 Древних. Но для этого похоже надо не только разблокировать всех персонажей и пройти игру каждым, но ещё и находить ими скрытые квесты и предметы.

С первого взгляда игра кажется поделкой на 3 часа, а в итоге... не знаю, часов на 50? За первые 5 часов я с трудом нашёл второй предмет (первый легко) и выбил единственную ачивку — умереть :) ОК, это интересно.

타이틀에도 박혀있듯 러브크래프트 이거에 매력을 느끼냐 마냐가 사실 가장 중요한 포인트인 게임

그런데 인게임에서 그런 스토리텔링이 매력적이거나 뉴비 친화적이질 못함

어 러브크래프트 게임인데 액션 도트버전으로 나왔어 다들 느낌알제? 즐겨봐 이런식임

결론 도트 액션겜만으로 평가해도 그저 그렇긴한데 못만든건 아님 다만 추천할 정도의 재미라기엔 애매

Solo si eres muy fan de Lovecraft. Con el detective en dificultad normal bien pero con el profesor con la misma dificultad es un despropósito, sobre todo en el segundo capítulo. Se nota que el juego está hecho con cariño por el lore pero falla en el diseño de niveles y cantidad de enemigos.

Man, started this game and played for a little bit.
For what i have seen so far this is a really nice game full of suspense and Lovecraftian horrors.
This is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED game!
It looks pretty simple, it plays pretty simple, this is just a very good game as a whole.

1.先运行一遍游戏，然后退出。
2.浏览本地文件打开目录
“游戏文件夹\lus_Data\Save”
3.用记事本打开“UserSetting.conf”
4.更改"language"后面的数字为4（即"language":4,）
5.保存更改并关闭文件。
操作完打开游戏就是中文了。

游戏非常好玩。
之前在手机上玩的，看见打折就来补票了。
中文也是在导入存档的时候发现的。

Probably the worst rogue-lite i've ever had the displeasure of viewing
It has a decent setup with well made pixel art and effort put into the random generation but it tries so hard to be way more difficult than it needs to be, so much so that when you die you start at the beginning of a checkpoint you gave yourself not the beginning of the run probably because the devs realized no one would even attempt to finish their game if they did.
some of the very very fun things about this game include

- your sources of loot being destroyable by a single projectile from the player, meaning you get no loot if you aren't careful enough trying to fight off the actual enemies
- related to that problem enemies legitimately spawn in droves so large that some rooms are impossible to clear unless you were lucky enough in the run to have just the right combination of equipment
- the mini events are so bland in their results on the game, its either give knowledge (secondary shop currency), restore sanity or lose sanity (second health bar you need to watch out for yay)
- the most unforgivable inadvertantly stupid idea placed in this game is that 80% of enemies because I want to believe theres not way all of them are guilty of this when they hityou a SINGLE time give you a status effect. this means that a cultist hits you with an axe? bleed health for 30 seconds, a slime hits you? acid damage for 12 seconds or something, bug stings you poison for a minute, fire drakes and ice drakes constantly afflicting elemental status effects not to mention the traps on the group that just annoy the ♥♥♥♥ out of you and the worst contenders of all the fact they place egg sacks on the group in several levels that will explode with numerous bugs if you get close to them and a single touch from a single bug will either poison you or worse inflict a parasite on you (insta death inevitably, i have not figured out the solution to it) in a single room out of 40 rooms, there is likely over 2 dozen of these egg sacs waiting to burst open surrounding the important loot you could again potentially destroy clearing out these egg sacks that you need to get by safely with

way too aggrevating a game for a meh vibe on eldritch theme. the cosmic horror is supposed to be the setting not the gameplay itself

the game is really good, interesting Lovecraftian plot ideal for fans of the master of horror
however, if you are not a patient person or love to complete achievements, I definitely recommend you to think twice before buying (achievements, or at least most of them are disgustingly difficult)(hard mode is something more like impossible sometimes)
but overall it's graphics are captivating and convey the atmosphere well, and the soundtrack complements it all perfectly

Amazing Game!
Top notch pixelart, fun and challenging gameplay, exquisite lovecraftian lore and tons of content! this is more than you can expect from triple A games companies nowadays.

Llevo desde los 12 años leyendo a Lovecraft y su círculo, los desarrolladores de este juego han hecho un increible trabajo de ambientación todo lo que aparece en el es puro Lovecraft...

Sin haberme gustado nunca los RogueLikes le he dado hasta el momento 121 horas... el juego es inmenso y con una curva de dificultad aunque al principio algo costosa, ajustada.

La sensación que cada personaje tiene una jugabilidad distinta (y habilidades que te permiten hacer unas cosas u otras según el nivel) con unas mecánicas que encajan mejor en ciertas fases, hace que cada pantalla sea un puzzle... lo que para unos personajes es un paseo para otros es un infierno.

Cada nivel tiene unos oponentes y equipar a cada personaje para esos enfrentamientosl o convierte en un puzzle... me van a hacer daño de fuego? hay armas eléctricas... ? un simple artefacto puede hacerte la vida mucho más fácil.

Un excelente juego, difÍcil como él solo con una profundidad inmensa... y a mi el estilo pixelart me encanta.

Buen trabajo, en el mundo Lovecraftiano estaís a la altura o superando a Dark Corners of the Earth mirando desde el podio a muchos triple A.

L'idea di per se è interessante , soprattutto se come il sottoscritto vi piace Lovecraft. Di cosa si tratta quindi ? Di un gdr a tema con livelli procedurali che cambiano ad ogni partita. Si inizia con il detective per poi sbloccare in seguito gli altri personaggi. Ognuno di questi ovviamente ha delle peculiarità a se.
Passo ai difetti : livelli abbastanza dispersivi. Si , c'è la mini mappa ( e per fortuna ) che ti indica le zona esplorate e da sbloccare , ma in alcuni casi vi serviranno chiavi apposite per proseguire , e se non le avete già trovate vi tocca di esplorare nuovamente le varie stanze.
Difficoltà da rivedere. Di solito gioco a normale , ma questa volta mi sono trovato a dover abbassare a facile per non schiattare ogni due per tre. Trappole ovunque , stanze piene di nemici fino all' orlo ( anche in modalità facile vi dimezzano la barra della vita con due colpi ). Altari che se attivati vi lanciano maledizioni assortite impossibili da rimuovere.
Per il resto vi sono una marea di oggetti che vanno studiati sul momento. Alcuni apportano benefici , altri no. In ogni caso si possono rivendere per fare cassa.
Ps : ho aspettato diverso tempo prima di acquistarlo , visto che agli inizi non vi erano neppure i sottotitoli in ITA , in seguito aggiunti . Vi è anche un seguito che però presenta tale pecca.

Lovecraft's Untold Stories is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. The game is yet another insult to the estate of HP Lovecraft as once more his corpse is exhumed to be abused by garbage games ripping off his public domain works. This time the mobile app devs even went so far as to try make it look like this was officially the work of Lovecraft, but it's not... the garbage content here (such as it is) is obviously not the "unfinished" work of Lovecraft. This is highly disrespectful, but what do we expect from mobile devs dumping their trash on Steam?

This mobile app is a really mediocre pixelcrap 2D top down shooter/brawler with little to nothing going for it (I'm sure the mobile gamers were super impressed for 5 minutes before going back to Angry Birds, which also happens to have better graphics than this).

From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.

A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result.

While there are options to change the resolution for the mobile app, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the mobile app, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals.

While the graphics look okay, the developer weirdly decided to prevent you from scrolling through all the resolution options you can get... now, if you have a modern GPU, you'll probably get a bunch of resolution options, the low res options are the only options that appear, because the developer decided there's no need for you to scroll through the resolutions available to you. The upshot? You can't set the game to your monitor native resolution. Now, if you're gaming on a CRT, that's fine... but come on, everyone uses a fixed resolution LCD or OLED monitor nowadays. That kind of screwup from the developer isn't acceptable.

The mobile app features no proper level design or game/story flow/plot, as they opted to try to use samey repetitive procgen algorithms as a substitute for adding such content to the mobile app, to avoid doing the important job of level/map design. As a result, the mobile app doesn't actually have any content worth mentioning, just endless, boring, repetitive, soulless algorithmically generated sameyness. Developers must learn that procedural generation is not an acceptable substitute for content.

Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the mobile app was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The mobile app is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone.

These technical defects push this mobile app below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

The mobile app never really caught on with the millions of gamers on Steam, with a very low peak player count close to launch, and then just a handful of players launching this mobile app every couple of days. This is undoubtedly caused by factors such as those raised in this review. It's always helpful with buying decisions to consider how popular and successful the product is, and unfortunately while this did accumulate a few participation trophy reviews, overall, people just aren't using it.

So, should you buy this mobile app? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?

Once more we see greedy mobile devs trying to scam PC gamers. On Steam, this is $15 USD, on app stores, it's $5. Mobile devs must learn PC gamers are not here to be gouged, and can't be expected to pay a THREE TIMES THE PRICE FOR A MOBILE APP just because it's been lazily dumped on Steam. This is unacceptable disrespect for PC gamers. Because this is a mobile app, is priced to insult and gouge PC gamers, and because of the other defects, it's impossible to recommend.

FIFTEEN BUCKS for a mobile app and they couldn't even do the graphics properly... no pixelcrap game is worth that much, let alone a mobile app.

Just who do they think we are?

Древний минус игры, терзающий умы "избранных", облик которого невозможно постичь, имея лишь человеческий разум. Заключается в том, что разработчики ненавидят людей и добавляют отвратительные механики, которые препятствуют сохранению приятного впечатления от игры (сложность игры заключается в неописуемом количестве противников, бить которых постепенно станет просто скучно и неприятно). Осточертело после того, как забыл подобрать 1 ключ для шуб-ниггурат в какой-то локации ведьмы из-за чего пришлось заново перепроходить всю историю. 10 потерь рассудка из 10.

Unfair hard game. So many traps and one hit you get bleed some traps are even hard to spot cause its blocked by objects. Also items for survival is very hard to find considering most rooms have enemies or traps. Finally done with a room with hordes of enemies, I was doing good kiting them and suddenly my character just off himself cause why not.

The fear of the unknown can destroy a man... but with the right knowledge (and armament) even a man can destroy a god... preferably dark huge ones that you can't quite make out in our limited dimension due to being enveloped in tesseracts and other quixotic shapes that got far too many edges and vertexes to be polite company at your typical bridge party.

- There's no save option until you complete the level and sometimes the level can take a few hours to complete, especially if you die, no checkpoints either!

- Traps are coloured the same as the ground on certain levels, if you're going to put a trap at least change it's colour so we can avoid it, the game is hard enough as it is!

- If you die your insanity stays with you, surely once you've died your sanity should refresh? A very illogical mechanic. There's also some strange reasons why you lose your sanity, such as looking at a lynch, why!?[/th]

The game is just straight up frustrating, I enjoy these type of rouge-like games if the consequences actually made sense, the unnecessary punishments are not needed when the enemies are overwhelming. I get that the game is designed to be hard but it feels like everything is against you and I think an experienced rogue player would struggle with some of these combat encounters.

It's not worth your time and money there's plenty of other games that do this a whole lot better

Players control one of five protagonists, each of whom has different strengths, and fight against Lovecraftian enemies, including cultists, Mi-Go, and the monstrous penguins featured from At the Mountains of Madness. Players must investigate the Cthulhu Mythos while fighting off these threats. Encountering elements of the Mythos cause characters to lose sanity, but sanity can be recovered by consumable items.

Na moral, que jogo bom... ele tem um dificuldade bem desafiadora, mas não tão punitivo.

Here is my take on it. I'm hesitant to recommend this game to just anyone. This game is DIFFICULT! Very difficult. So much so, that I have stopped playing it for quite lengthy amounts of time twice. But I've came back to it three times now. The thing is, this is H.P. Lovecraft we are talking about here. Games that surround the Mythos and COSMIC FRIGGIN HORRORS are supposed to be anything but easy. Unless your ultimate goal is for your character (or yourself for that matter) to go completely mad. So a couple technicalities I want to mention. The game play is fun. But a bit sloppy. At first, it's hard to figure out the game loop and how it works. That info is readily available however. The mini events REALLY do good with providing proper lore and easter eggs galore for those who have read his works. For real. Best I've personally seen from a game closely tied into Lovecraft. So I do recommend. But really only to big fans of Lovecraft and/or people who either LOVE brutal games or can at least deal with it. TBH, the play through I'm on now I had to set to easy and I'm still stuck on the same lever getting destroyed for a week now. Then again.... Maybe I just suck real bad at this game.

игра прикольная но очень сложно посмотрите трофеи почти не кто не прошёл даже за 2 персонажей я молу про убийство древних а так не плохо но кривая сложности очень не ровная ну и как многие пишут очень много врагов типа урезать их в половину . а так ставлю наверно средняя игра по скидки и на стимдеки ок а так не ок .
