I have a feeling that Leaving Lyndow represents a future path to the textures that were previously only available to us in written works. We do not just have dialogue, scenes, let alone themes, that depend on individual words or sentences. This game embraces the beauty available by way of graphics and sound combined with player choices. I have played the game a few times, and I invited my wife to play once as well.

We all experience life changes. This game helped me think about changes from another perspective, and that feels real and important. Like all good speculative fiction, this game is different from my/your reality, but bears similarities that promote critical thinking. We are always moving and we all leave somewhere/someone and have to think of the consequences.

If you value meaningful ideas and discourse, this game is for you.

It's a walking sim with some light puzzle elements that feels like a Morrowind side quest or something. It definitely has a nice vibe but there's not much of a story progression and tends to feel pointless by the end. Still, it's worth it for the nice atmosphere and the achievements are easily unlockable, which I guess is a plus since games at this price point usually have broken achievements.

Leaving Lyndow ist ein Walking Simulator bei welchem wir kurz vor dem Aufbruch unserer wichtigsten Reise unseres Lebens sind, das Nest verlassen und uns ein letztes mal von allem Verabschieden, denn die Reise ist gefährlich und hab bereits zuvor unserem Vater das Leben gekostet. Es fühlt sich an wie die der Weg in den Sicheren Tod, aber auch ins ungewisse und eine Welt voller neuer Entdeckungen. Sehr hübsch anzusehen, sehr bittersüß und allgemein einfach cozy. Auch wenn am Ende nicht viel passiert oder man auch im ungewissen gelassen wird, macht einfach Freude die Umgebung zu erkunden und in die Stimmung einzutauchen.

A nice, atmospheric walking simulator that introduces the Eastshade world. A great game for when you want something simple and reflective to enjoy. Leaving Lyndow é uma experiência curta e simples, que funciona mais como um prólogo para Eastshade do que como um jogo completo. A arte é agradável e o ambiente é relaxante, mas nada realmente impressiona — percebe-se bem que é um projeto pequeno, e dentro dessa proposta ele cumpre o básico.

A narrativa tem uma boa ideia por trás, mas acaba por ser muito superficial. Em menos de uma hora já se viu quase tudo o que o jogo tem para oferecer. A jogabilidade é extremamente simples, quase inexistente, e o ritmo é muito lento. Vale pela atmosfera tranquila e pelo preço baixo, e claro, pela platina rápida para quem gosta de completar jogos.

No geral, é uma experiência simpática, mas pouco marcante. Boa para uma tarde calma, mas passa rápido e não deixa grande impacto.

Attention, ce jeu est extrêmement court ; je ne suis pas certaine qu'en tant que tel, sans promotion, l'expérience soit une pure réussite.
En revanche, pour moi qui ait adoré jouer à Eastshade il y a quelques années, je me suis replongée avec plaisir dans l'univers de Lyndow. Ce très petit jeu est une sorte de mise en bouche poétique et intrigante à Eastshade, bien plus développé mais prenant place dans le même univers onirique, chatoyant de couleurs, de sons et de lumières magnifiques.
On ne peut qu'être émerveillé par la beauté des paysages et le ton des dialogues d'une grande douceur.
Une petite-demi heure enchanteresse qui m'a fait beaucoup de bien !

Dies ist ein Spiel, indem ich gerne nur "ausgeglichen bzw. Daumen mittelmäßig" geben möchte.

Insgesamt ist das Spiel sehr kurz. Es geht ca. 60 Min. Zudem ist es ausschließlich ein Walking Simulator.
Hierbei sind alle Errungenschaften miteinbegriffen, um das Spiel komplett abzuschließen.

Die Grafik ist vor allem in den Landschaftsbildern großartig umgesetzt. Wirklich schön und man hat das Gefühl, wirklich dort zu sein und es selbst zu erleben.
Die Menschen und Häuser, sehen etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig aus.
Ein Stil, gerade bei den Menschen, der mir so gar nicht zusagt.
Aber sobald man in der Natur ist, hat man das wieder vergessen und das macht es definitiv wett.

Die Hintergrundmusik ist ok und angenehm.

Die Errungenschaften sind auch wieder etwas misslungen. Oft muss man einfach nur 5 Min in einer Sequenz stehen, um sie zu bekommen. Oder etwas an z.B. dem Kugelspiel dran stehen bleiben und zwischenzeitlich nichts tun. Dann kommt die Errungenschaft irgendwann. Eine, nämlich das Spiel im Wald, muss man beim ersten Mal schaffen, sonst muss man insgesamt das Spiel von vorn beginnen. Sehr unglücklich gelöst das Ganze...

Die Geschichte ist leider auch in einem Satz erzählt und das schon wie im Spieltext auf der Storeseite:
Man ist Entdecker und möchte sein kleines Dorf verlassen um auf Abenteuer zu gehen.
- Schlicht und ergreifend: Das wars.

Ich kann das Spiel nur eingeschränkt empfehlen.
Dies liegt ausschließlich an der tollen Landschaft und dem Gefühl des Aufbruchs.
Das Spiel ist immer mal im Sale und darauf solltet ihr hier auch warten.

Я б назвала це маленькою медитативною грою. Сторінка з життя головної героїні Клари. Трохи її внутрішнього світу (інколи абстрактно поданого), трохи взаємодії з нпс, невеликий інтерактив з головоломками і приємні пейзажі чужої планети.
Інколи дуже хотілось пришвидшитись, але гра цього не дозволяла, ведучи тебе своїм темпом.
Мені загалом сподобалось (хотіла зібрати усі досягнення, але повільний темп відбив це бажання, тому залишила як є, щоб не псувати досвід).

if you haven't played Leaving Lyndow give it a go. I'ts a short game with great bright visuals. You play first person POV as a female protagonist leaving Lyndow and saying your final goodbyes to the island and your friends on the island. Say goodbye to your mother there and the other people. 1 Puzzle in the game which can be a bit tricky, I had to write it down as I did it, as it involved listening to chines and then playing it back exactly to complete the puzzle.

Visuals are nice and very well done. Short game takes around 30 minutes to play. Give it a go if it's on special.

Un gioco sugli addii e il coraggio che è necessario non solo a lasciare indietro ciò che ci è caro, ma anche a vedere andare via qualcuno che amiamo nonostante questo ci faccia soffrire. Ein kleiner wirklich sehr schön gemachter Walking Simulator.
Im Grunde ist es eine äußerst geschickte Demo zu dem Spiel Eastshade.
Und so entspannend es war, wie die vielen, vielen kreativen Ideen und Details,
die allein in diesem kurzen Einblick zu entdecken waren,
machen aufjedenfall neugierig auf das Hauptspiel. ^^
Allerdings hätte man aus der Story Idee sogar selber ein ganzen Spiel machen können.
Das ganze spielt ja auf einer Erdähnlichen Welt.
Und ein Spiel in den es einfach nur um das Erkunden
von völlig Neuen Gebieten geht,
wäre wirklich eine wundervolle Sache! ^^

What it says on the tin, its Clara's final day before leaving on a scientific expedition. You visit what seems to be the most important places from her life, drink tea until you are cut off by the tea brewer, and say goodbye to her friends and family. Its a beautiful introduction and then it ends lol Visually the game is super pleasing except for the NPCs. I am not sure what's going on there but they are memorable to say the least. The clothing is pretty good though. The soundtrack is incredible, just super soothing.

This game is super short, the only reason my playthrough took an hour is because I was making and eating dinner while I played. I got all the achievements on that playthrough too, several of which require doing things for I think 5 minutes? Which was not as tedious as it sounds. I would pay the 3.99 again.

Every hero's journey starts with the protagonist leaving the safe confines of their home and embarking on a grand journey of some kind. I love that this game is just about that moment. If you've ever moved away from home or gone away to college or to the military this is going to invoke something in you. A sense of hope and apprehension and doubt. And I just really love the way that it looks. This is a tiny poem of a game, less than an hour in length, but it covers a bit of what is usually left off from the story of most heroic chronicles: that day that you pack your bags and leave the comfort and familiarity of home. I love that video games are a place to explore this kind of thing.

A perfect short story and introduction into the beautiful world of Eastshade. [regarding EASTSHADE] I only wish that you could talk to Clara more once on land and even see her home once again. You get a great overview of the mechanics of Eastshade with a small story & some characters that you limitedly interact with in the sequel game. A perfect short cozy point-and-click walkthrough simulator. The use of the specific achievement Clara's Song was unique for both games. It was great to see the developmental and time changes from Leaving Lyndow to the progression of Eastshade making the two games unique.

Leaving Lyndow is echt een bijzondere ervaring. Het is geen typische game met actie of moeilijke puzzels, maar meer een soort rustgevende wandeling door een prachtige wereld. Het verhaal draait om afscheid nemen en nieuwe stappen zetten in je leven, en dat wordt heel goed weergegeven. De muziek en de sfeer zijn supermooi – het voelt bijna alsof je in een kunstwerk zit. Het is wel heel kort, misschien een uurtje, maar dat uurtje blijft je wel bij. Echt een aanrader als je van rustige en sfeervolle games houdt.

Leaving Lyndow es una experiencia narrativa bien corta pero relajante.
No hay mucho que decir sin hacer eco de lo que dice la propia descripción del juego y sin hacer spoilers.
La única crítica que podría hacer es sobre los personajes: ya sabemos que la belleza está en el ojo del observador, pero... creo que se perdió en alguna parte, debe hacerse ido en la avalancha de lodo, lol.

En general es un [b]6.5/10[/b]. No está mal pero lo recomiendo en oferta.
También parece que es una precuela de [b]Eastshade[/b], supongo que voy a tener que echarle el ojo a eso.

Man I miss Eastshade. I bought this just because I wanted more of it. I've played Eastshade a while back so this small interlude was very nice. The negative reviews are correct to say it is lackluster. It is short, buggy and runs poorly. It is a very well put together demo and a great promise to what Eastshade would become. This is more a tip jar nowadays and I am happy to tip Eastshade Studios for creating such a beautiful world.

茶馆的阿姨卖4种茶，原本打算都喝一次的阿姨竟然一直在数数，大概第8杯获得了一个成就。楼上的珠子好像就是一个解压玩具虽然有甩出去的动画效果但是甩了好半天也不见少。

Легкий и ненапряжный часовой пролог для игры Eastshade. Играл в него спустя какое-то время после прохождения основной игры, поэтому был рад снова вернуться в этот мир, пусть и ненадолго. Правда, меня немного смутил внешний вид персонажей. Тут явно использована одна из ранних концепций дизайна, поэтому герои выглядят немного крипово. Конечная реализация в самом Eastshade вышла гораздо более удачной.

What a beautiful little game. I played the sequel, Eastshade, many years ago and loved it. Eastshade has one of the most picturesque worlds out of any game I’ve played. I wanted to see it again so I figured I’d finally give Leaving Lyndow a try. It’s fairly short but just as beautiful as Eastshade. A pleasant experience if you want to enjoy the landscape, feel inspired, and are ready to get a bit sentimental. Definitely worth the money for me.

One thing I’ll note is that I’m prone to experiencing motion sickness in first-person games. (In my case it’s mainly eye strain and headaches.) Unfortunately, Leaving Lyndow triggered that as well, especially due to the way the camera sways when you move left or right. I wish there was a way to turn that off. In that regard, I was glad that the game only took an hour to finish.

Я дуже люблю основну гру, до якої це сюжетний пріквел - Eastshade, але навіть після купи годин в ній тут дуже мало взаємодій, хоча подивитись буде на що. Радив би цю гру лише після проходження основної, бо ви навіть не знатимете, хто така та Клара й що це за місце взагалі.
Загалом я ніц не шкодую, що придбав цей пріквел, було цікаво подивитися на знайомо-незнайомі місцини, але хотілося б більше лору, бо є відчуття незавершення навіть попри те що я знав, чим закінчується ця історія, коли сідав за гру, оце її основний парадокс.

Leaving Lyndow is a game that I feel would be best experienced right before playing the game Eastshade. The games are set in the same place in the same world and I think that playing them back to back would offer an enhanced experience.

I enjoyed Leaving Lyndow because the character you play as is going through the pressures of having to leave their home behind to advance in their chosen career. I liked the variety of emotions presented in the different characters you can interact with.

While exploring the different locations in Leaving Lyndow you have the opportunity to learn more about the worlds culture, residents, tragedies, innovation, and more. Other than exploration there are also some mini games that are spread out across the different locations you visit before your departure.

Overall I liked Leaving Lyndow and I think that if you enjoy similar games you may enjoy both Leaving Lyndow and Eastshade, give them a try!

Es ist ganz süß wenn man auch das andere Lindow Spiel gespielt hat (Eastshade). Aber irgendwie hatte ich mehr erwartet, weil Eastshade richtig gut war. Trotzdem ist es okay und war keine verschwendete Zeit allerdings finde ich fast 4 € zu viel für das kurze Spiel.

Графика не пережила испытание временем, диалоги пустые, персонажи не раскрыты, думать негде. Единственная возможная ценность - ностальгия/интерес по отношению к оригинальной игре Eastshade, но я в неё не играл, поэтому данный пролог показался мне никаким.

Die Geschichte ist kurz und sehr süß umgesetzt. Es gibt wenige kleine Rätsel und insgesamt 5 Schauplätze zu erkunden.
Guter Einstieg in die Welt von Eastshade. Im Sale kann man hier gern zuschlagen, für den Vollpreis doch etwas zu wenig Spielspaß. Die Musik ist schön beruhigend und die Orte wunderschön. Daher bewerte ich das Spiel als neutral und wer mal was für "Zwischendurch" braucht, kann hier gern zugreifen. :)

Well I don't really know what to say... It's really great all around. Breathtaking visuals, compelling soundtrack, the plot and minigames are fine and the atmosphere is really something else. But it lasts 45 minutes tops. More like 30 minutes actually because my 45 minutes include achievements where you basically keep doing a minigame 5 minutes more than what you would normally had. It's barely a demo at this point.....

Leaving Lyndow is a cozy and relaxing walking simulator. It's set in the fictional town of Lyndow. You're about to leave to become an explorer and you get to explore the feelings and emotions related to that decision from your friends and family.

The environments are beautiful and the game successfully transfers a relaxing mood to you as the player. The music is really great.

The game is extremely short and the content is shallow. The game is very meh. There's plenty of better walking simulators out there and I recommend that you look elsewhere. The game is set in the same universe as the developers other game Eastshade and perhaps if you've played that, you will appreciate this.

A short gorgeous game. The architecture in here is so pretty, layout of the house is just *chef's kiss* cute. I kept just marveling at the scenery, and the music is really nice too. My favorite place you visit is the tea house, trying all the teas is so much fun! And I did manage to get a marble to roll along the rim of the bowl ^.^ ( it was a personal quest i made for myself xD )

Basically: it's short, cute, and affordable if you want to wander around a pretty world for an hour.

I'll definitely be checking out Eastshade later, and I'm super hyped for the Songs of Glimmerwick!

Did you enjoy Eastshade? Are you curious about a little more lore with even *more* mellow gameplay? I recommend this on sale, since $4 for less than an hour of game time (I spent entirely too much of my own time wandering around and taking screenshots) with no replayability sounds a little steep. But it's still an experience I'll say that anyone who enjoyed Eastshade should check out when they have a spare dollar or two.

Ich packe meine Koffer weil ich auf Entdeckungsreise gehen will, verabschiede mich von den schönen Orten an denen ich groß geworden bin und von den "Menschen". Dann steige ich voller Vorfreude aufs Schiff. Was mich wohl erwarten wird? DAS HAUPTMENÜ! \Leaving Lyndow\ es el juego que nos hace preguntarnos si realmente necesitábamos dejar la casa hoy. Perfecto para esos que quieren sentir el dolor de despedirse con gráficos tipo pintura barroca pero sin robarle mucho tiempo a tu vida. Aquí controlas a Clara, que está básicamente gastando sus últimas horas en Lyndow haciendo maletas y despidiéndose de todos como si estuviera yéndose forever… Aunque realmente sólo va de aventura al Andariegus Maximus, o algo así.

Si te gustan los juegos que terminan antes de que la pizza llegue, este es para ti. Con gráficos que son de llamar la atención (para bien) y una banda sonora que realmente te hace sentir en un pueblo donde el mayor entretenimiento es ver crecer el pasto. Además, la ambientación… tranqui, todo muy zen.

La historia parece que fue escrita en una servilleta de café durante una tarde de aburrimiento, podría mejorar un poco. Además, ¿dónde está la acción, queridos desarrolladores? This is basically a demo for "Eastshade". It's cheap. But it doesn't really give you a good representation of what you'll get in Eastshade. It's too short to realise how poorly optimised Eastshade is. If you're someone who likes Eastshade, this will feel disappointing in comparison.

Quick, peaceful, enjoyable game.
Great look w/ the graphics presented, nice lighting, wanted more of the music.
Easy to 100% and I got it for like a dollar. CANNOT COMPLAIN. Glad I got to experience it.

Only found one bug (text stuck on screen) and monkey people freak me out.
