Got to 'Act IV' of the story and was told I needed to get more trophies to unlock it - despite having beaten many levels several times over. I decided not to bother.

Irritating things, like never being clear on whether or not something counts as being spotted for stealth missions - e.g., if you kill a guy before he has time to react it usually counts as being seen, but every now and then a guy will shoot at you despite it not counting as being seen. The 'alarms' were especially finnicky.

What I loved most about this game was the Judge Dredd/Robocop homage - which I think comes across really well in the illustration, the 'gavel' design of your gun, and the ability to bust down walls with impunity. To repeat, the gavel was really inspired. Wanting to have the most powerful, most wall-destroying, most flesh-shredding shotgun gavel I could was probably what kept me in the game for the 8h I was hooked.

On the other hand, I'm not sure if a top-down strategic shooter with a stealth emphasis is a good fit. The music was kind of peppy, the colouring was mostly dark blues and greys, the graphics had very little detail (especially since you could only see the tops of your heads and shoulders, including the Jydge himself), and the villains looked like generic street punks in generic nightclubs... it just didn't feel like how I wanted it to feel.

Fun little twin stick shooter, short levels, with a lot of power ups to choose from which keeps it from going stale.

Getting all of the achievements took 20 hours, I doubt I'd play more than that but for $15, or if you can get it on sale I'd say it's worth it.

Fun game that is not just shooting and blowing things up (although there is plenty of that). Completing all six possible challenges of each level requires a bit of luck and careful selection of weapons and cyber options. Fortunately one doesn't need to get everything perfect to move forward which allow for a more relaxed approach if you want.

Buen juego si lo pillas de oferta. Básicamente es una serie de misiones de acción a lo hotline miami con estetica cyberpunk y progresión entre fases. Puedes personalizar mucho tu estilo de juego: in con sigilo, ser un rambo de la vida, ametralladora, ataques melee devastadores... un poco lo que quieras.

Eso sí: es corto, muy corto, se puede pasar en unas 3/4 horitas si no te importa no ser excesivamente completista. El juego para pasarselo al "100%" dura unas 15/20 h suponiendo que quieras conseguir todas las medallas, armas, especiales y mejoras del juego pero realmente tampoco es que haga mucha falta.

Finalmente: la historia es un poco meh, es una precuela de un juego de esta misma compañía, Neon Chrome, pero realmente no es ni eso. Te hablan tres veces o así a lo largo de la partida y todo lo demás es acción loca.

Easy answer: If you like 10Tons top-down shooters, you will like this game. It is more of that, few devs really knock down the TDS genre like 10Tons.

I put in 8 hours before I abandoned it. I don't feel like I completed the game, though I'm happy with the experience.

The gameplay is tight, the modifications are fun, and the loadouts are a really great feature as you feel like you are polishing the different experiences you want. Plus busting throw walls and destroying the environments is always so awesome.

There are three pain points that I want to throw out there: Progress Scaling, AI Vision, and the Robots.
1) Instead of a linear story progression, you have to hit a certain amount of stars. There are 14 levels requiring a total of 120 stars to unlock every stage. Each Stage only gives you 3 stars per difficulty scaling [Easy, mid, hard, nightmare.] This means that you cannot simply play the game all the way through but rather replay multiple levels multiple times at different difficulties to unlock things. Considering there are dual endings that are tied to difficulty spikes it makes that particular achievement merit a top-to-bottom re-do, which is just not in the cards at the moment. It can be frustrating to continuously re-tread your footsteps because it doesn't feel super intuitive.

2) AI Vision. I'm going to say it doesn't feel fair in both directions. There are some shadow work that makes the AI basically ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blind to you, but there are also ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cheats in the angles that make AI able to spot you before you can spot them, considering the aforementioned stars typically hinge on vision for a handful of missions can lead to a very frustrating experience. Additionally, there is an unlock for your character that flattens the screen instead of dutch angles it and it can be disorienting to switch back and forth. I think it should be a game option and not a player choice.

3) The robots is the nitpicki-est thing I'm going to talk about. There are a handful of missions that require assassinating a robot without being seen and you are on an extremely tight resource budget. While the game gives you customizability, the first playthrough is definitely about the min/max. So these missions for me going a fast shotgun build & a long sniper build made this mission boring and frustrating. I would either need to dump 15-20 minutes researching this one problem or go online which feels like cheating. But as someone who liked my stealth runs, I just did not have the damage output to put the robots away consistently and it was missions "like" this that made me say "I'm having less fun and having more work to do." Which what led to me writing this review with a complete runthrough but 50% of the achievements.

it's a decent budget twin-stick shooter, but i absolutely hate the level progression. there aren't a lot of levels, which is fine since it's a budget game, but it's gated behind replaying the same mission over and over to get medals from different types of playstyles.

if you ran the levels back to back, the game is only 1-2 hours long. but it ends up being 5-8hrs because of all the un-fun repetition like "do this level in 20 seconds!" and "now collect all the boxes"

At the very beginning the game may be a very little bit frustrating. But you get more and more successful with every run. Plus with every success you earn more abilities, modes, types of ammo and so on. And there are some really great mod waiting to be won which even are just fun to rush completed levels again for rampage.
You can always go back to missions and replay it, get new medals and find new secrets.

I love such games - and I love this game! Really give it a try!

Its pretty good i would say but nthe higher difficultiers are just really annoying. Luckily they included an easier progression mode, otherwise i would have been stuck at the lower levels and be forced to repeat those ♥♥♥♥ missions to grind progression points.

The standard gun, the maschine gun basdicaly is soooo bad, but it was my favorite bec its fun shooting around with it.
The laser is the best weapon in the game. On some levels i needed to choose the laser bec it was impossible to win otherwise. Some perks are unplayable compared to others.

Rengeteg rengeteg fejlesztés van benne, amik tök különböző hatást adnak, akár fegyverre, akár magunkra. Kicsit talán nehézzé válik már elég hamar, de az nem gond, ha valamiben van kihívás. A rombolható falak is tök jók, mert lehet taktikusan túszt menteni pl. Mindenképp csak ajánlani lehet a játékot, én eddig nem nagyon találtam benne hibát.

基本的には銃で敵を倒していくゲームですが、各ステージには「敵に見つからずにクリアしろ」「30秒以内にクリアしろ」などのサイドミッションが設定されており、ステルススキルをセットして慎重にプレイしたり、スピードアップスキルと短時間無敵スキルをセットして強行突破したりとプレイにバリエーションがあって飽きないです。
1ステージ数分でクリアできるので軽くプレイできますし、クリアに失敗しても気軽にやり直せるのもよいです。

実績に「民間人の犠牲が19人以内でゲームクリア」というのがあるので、最終ステージクリアまでは民間人の体力100倍スキルと民間人を誤射しても当たらなくなるスキルを常にセットしておくことをおすすめします。

It's too bad, this is a good game, but the developers made one crucial flaw. As others have complained about, you need to do the same mission over and over again, until you finally complete challenges, which give you tokens, which you need to do more levels. So instead of beating new levels and moving on, you are forced to replay the same mission several times.

I enjoyed the first 2-3 hours of this game, but it gets annoying really quick.

JYDGE is a clear example for why it's important developers learn how to spell properly before developing a game. Also, you know, learning about copyright. This is a pretty clear ripoff, thematically, of Judge Dredd, right down to the wacky judge themed weapon (in this case instead of the Lawgiver it's a gun called the "gavel"). Whatever, ok. If 2000AD finds out about this they're gonna sue. Anyway, what we have here is a 2D top down twin stick console port. On the plus side, it's sincerely and professionally made and reasonably well polished. It's one of the better console ported twin stick shooters on Steam, which is a lot like being pretty tall for a midget. There's destructible buildings and players are (at least initially) given a fairly wide choice between using stealth or brute force. It's also not just shooting as you need to rescue hostages, hack things, find keys and so on, so there's a bit more depth than most console games.

The real kicker that killed the game for most, apart from the console heritage, is the requirement for you to replay the same levels over and over to get a "perfect" score... without replaying old levels several times, you won't be granted permission to progess in the game. Gamers hated that.

From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.

The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the mid-2000s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with.

Because this is a console game, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the inferior console gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the console-centric developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for consoles forces upon a game. Once more, console peasants have made gaming worse for everyone.

These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

The game didn't really make a huge impact on gamers, either. There's achievements, and only about half the people who played it got a perfect 3 star mission (which is needed to progress in the game). Presumably a lot of gamers immediately dumped the game when they found out they had to keep replaying old levels to progress. Developers really shouldn't go out of their way to deter their player base.

JYDGE has the total ripoff price of $15 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games, let alone the sheer number of free games available on Steam. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. $15 would easily pay for a dictionary from which the developers could learn how to spell properly.

I enjoyed my 5 hours of top-down, shoot'em up, cyberpunk, destructible environment Judge Dredd themed fun...until I couldn't progress without redoing earlier missions multiple-times with more and more restrictive completion requirements. Why do this? I mean if you're a perfectionist, fine, give some achievements for the hardcore. But don't make it mandatory. The game turned from a shooter into a precision puzzler, and though that might be some people's bag, it ain't mine. Yes, I know I should "get gud", but I don't wanna...

The only reason to play this game is to get the achievements because the story itself is lame af.
Unlikely, the achievements and pre-set goals to clear each area 100% are so retarded it's just frustrating.
For example: don't kill anyone - enemies are shooting and kill themselves - goal failed.

Not a bad game, although I would recommend picking up Neon Chrome first. Otherwise, the medal unlocking can get annoying, and the core combat, while good, does seem to overtime funnel players into fewer playstyles than might initially seem possible given the sheer number of available firemodes, weapon modifications, ect., The firemodes themselves are cool on paper, in terms of variety, but in practice, a lot of them aren't that useful in the scheme of things compared to say, Heavy Bullets, which reduces the apparent variety a tad.

I have to admit that I was annoyed by replaying the missions over and over again to get more medals to unlock more levels at first. But once I realized how cleverly designed the whole game is and how many weapons, upgrades and tools you constantly unlock I was hooked. This is far more than another twitchy top-down shooter. It combines fast-paced action with a clever planning phase and tactical gameplay. There are 18 missions in total that come with three objectives each. You don’t have to achieve all goals in one run. So if one mission goal is “kill all enemies in 60 seconds” health upgrades, explosives and regenerating shields will come in handy. The “rescue all hostages without getting seen” task however is better done by replaying the same mission with stealth, hacking and higher hostage health upgrades.

But wait, this isn’t all. Each mission comes in four difficulty settings with its own goals. So while the maps stay the same, enemy placements, collectables, hostages etc. will change. Upping the total available missions to 72 with 216 medals to get. There are also several endings you achieve and tons of unlocks and upgrades to collect. A lot of content for a low-priced game like this. And no, you don’t need to accomplish all goals to “finish” the game. So if you are really stuck on an objective you always have several other options to advance. On top of the great content, you get nice stylized visuals and a banging synthwave soundtrack. All in all a real indie gem that also plays fantastically on the Steam Deck.

There's a great game somewhere in here, but the designers made it mostly inaccessible. To unlock the story missions, you have to repeat previous missions with more and more precise perfection. It's like they made tedium a requirement to be able to play this game, and they really didn't have to.

You really really really really really want to make a game about that one dude from that comic book series and two movies you really really really really really like!

But you don't own the license....

Simple. Just call it it Jydge about a special law enforcement initiative where cyberneticaly enhanced super cops who are also jydge and jyry. In a megacity that isn't #1.

Excellent top down tactical shooter. Not very big on mechanics initially as it does require arcade style unlocking of powers but gradually it evolves into a highly interesting and fun game.

THIS GAME WILL CHANGE YOUR F-ING LIFE (JK, LOL)!! Seriously, it a fun little near-mindless shooter with no complexity. After work or when bored or just a bit tired this is the perfect game for you... granted you enjoy the premise, top-down perspective, non-complicated games. It runs smooth and controls nicely on PC with Keyboard/mouse. I've not tried coop mode nor playing with a controller yet, so, no comment there.

Se vc gosta de jogos top down shooter, pode ir que vale a pena!!
É uma "sequência" do neon chrome, não exatamente na história, mas na jogabilidade e no mundo em si.
Conta com um sistema de upgrade mais desenvolvido em que vc aprimora o seu personagem e tb a arma de diversas formas.

Лучше проходить так: взять электрические шары, бьющие током недалеко от себя, как на спец так и на обычное оружие, (конечно-же вкачанные на макс), в модификации для молота взять увеличение спецзарядов, хил за убийства и скорую перезарядку, в модификации для судьи взять ключ для открытия фиолетовых замков (можно что-то другое), бессмертие первые 15 секунд, ускорение бега, и увеличенное здоровье. Стратегия такова: за первые 15 секунд, выходя с правого входа, вы собираете вокруг себя всех врагов, включая тех что у правого края карты, идя вплоть до конца аллеи напрямик, попутно стреляя по крупным скоплениям врага спец оружием (так что-бы шары не врезались в рукопашников), вам нужно что-бы у вас в конце остался один заряд, под конец действия вашего бессмертия вы должны оказаться за самым последним левым домом, добиваете оставшихся, затем взрываете питание к дому, добиваете всех кто там, затем быстренько бежите напротив, к зданию с двумя пулемётами у входа, посылаете туда последний заряд спецоружия, так что-бы он прошел в проём, и убил стоящего там синеволосого хмыря, далее на выбор: можете бежать в первый правый, или в первый левый дом, снимаете там питание перед тем как войти, убиваете всё что там есть, ну а затем бежите через задний вход к зданию с пулемётами проверять живо ли то синеволосое чучело, ваш заряд мог войти в стену. Отличный лвл для фарма денег.

Коррупция на продажу на жёстком.

В частности "выйти за 35 секунд". Вам понадобятся следующие модификации для судьи: "стенолом", бессмертие первые 15 секунд, и для быстрого перемещения: "беспощадный" и "быстрый бег". Из спецоружия нужно взять вкачанный шоковый шар, а из обычного оружия вкачанную самую первую плазму, из модификаций для молота следует взять большее количество спецзарядов. Пробегаете ломая препятствия по часовой стрелке, т.е с левой части карты на правую, на первую улику проходите прямо через берную стойку, на вторую через дверь комнаты в которой она лежит, никого не трогаете, на третью пробегаете стреляя по врагу удобным вам способом, далее на четвёртую, убив лысого врага перед ней при помощи спецзаряда, и в машину.

Финальная миссия на хардкоре.

В частности прохождение незамеченным. Вам нужно лазерное оружие, взрывчатка СК4 на спецоружие, с нормальной прокачкой, и следущие модификации для судьи: хамелеон, ключ для фиолетовых замков, быстрый бег, вид сверху. Начинать нужно с самого верхнего входа, взламываете замок, одним выстрелом убираете двух зелёноволосых, снимаете верхний пулемёт, далее идёте вниз и убиваете охранника в комнате с реактором, далее вам нужно подкрасться к огромному роботу, и из-за его спины уничтожить стоящих вдали в коридору врагов (там один, но потом прибежит ещё), и пулемёт, далее закладываете позади робота СК4, отходите и взрываете, внимание: вначале лазер может сделать рикошет при стрельбе в первых двоих, и попасть в робота, это ничего, быстренько закрываете дверь, он прибежит к ней в упор, ставите взрывчатку с вашей стороны, но повыше - так что-бы вас не задело, открываете дверь и взрываете, так-же можно делать с элитными именными охранниками, приманивая их шумом выстрелов, только закрывать шлюз уже не обязательно. Итак, вернёмся к месту базового уничтожения робота: после этого вам нужно осторожно, держа дистанцию от пулемётов в большом коридоре - уничтожить их, они видят вас примерно тогда, когда вы достигаете их своим ЛЦУ, далее пройти до упора по самому крайнему, более светлому коридору (где вы уничтожали врагов и пулемёт из-за спины робота), (кстати при помощи СК4 вы можете поджидать и мочить врагов в этом месте), далее сломать руками стену, уничтожить пулемёты и турель, пройти дальше, уничтожить пулемёты за углом, сломать стену напротив самого угла, открыть дверь сзади стражника, убить его, затем выманить выстрелом и убить другого стража, а затем осторожно замочить босса мафии и убежать.

Не очевидные секретные зоны и коллекционные предметы.

Помните: недалеко от каждого коллекционного предмета лежит белый листок с чёрным силуэтом смерти с косой.

Итак.

Пролог, красная дверь на севере карты, взорвать с СК4.

На Банке (карта первой главы) убейте верхнего гражданина в правом верхнем углу карты, заберите желтый ключ, и откройте желтую дверь на севере карты. Единственный случай, помимо "Взлома изнутри", который я прошел случайно, остальные либо найдя так, либо по подсказкам из меню коллекционных предметов.

На карте "Промышленный бум" обойдите самую северную комнату, взяв уменьшение в модификациях судьи, ключ к двери которую вы увидите слева - находится в левом нижнем углу карты, в фиолетовом сундучке, так что возьмите взлом.

На искусственном парке (карта с садом-лабиринтом) в противоположной от вашей машины части карты - пройдите заграждения против машин по направлению к темноте, там лежит коллекционный предмет.

На предпоследней карте (Коррупция на продажу) после спасения заложников на жестком уровне сложности пройдите в синий лифт в зоне направо от вашей машины.

На карте "Охрана округа" (первая миссия третьей главы) взорвите с СК4 дверь в левом верхнем углу карты.

На "Офисной мести" на жестком уровне сложности в комнате лидера банды (левый верхний угол карты) есть кнопка, она активирует левый лифт, который побелеет после её нажатия, после вхождения в него будет комната с минами, помимо ящиков с деньгами - в противоположной от вас части комнаты находится коллекционный предмет (в виде огонька), проходить мины нужно при помощи уменьшения судьи (модификации судьи).

На карте "Дежурство в аду" уничтожьте все капсулы с замороженными людьми, в противоположной от входа части комнаты откроется дверь, уничтожать капсулы лучше с СК4.

В убежище банды Кобры взорвите с СК4 южную стену сада с механическим пауком, откроется помещение, на карте оно заметно по андреевскому кресту.

На карте "Враждебное гостеприимство" ломаете все генераторы, заходите в лифт, доходите до загадки, с СК4 взрываете все фиолетовые двери перед красной ракушкой, забираете её.

На карте "Взлом изнутри", взяв лазер на режимы огня, и поставив на оружие модификацию в которой первый выстрел в магазине взрывается, вам нужно выстрелить в верхний угол правой стенки узкого коридора перед терминалом, именно так я случайно сделал, и взорвал эту стену, судя по всему бочкой стоявшей за ней, там оказался лифт.

На первой карте первой главы (миссия после пролога) в левой части карты, в соседнем доме, лежит коллекционный предмет, пройти к нему можно со стороны машины, перед этим взяв уменьшение для судьи, в модификациях судьи.

It's good, don't really enjoy the fact you have to get X amount of in-game achievements (not Steam achievements,) to go to the next level sometimes though. Not as good as Neon Chrome but still ok, a bit less action and way more linear. Decent homage to Judge Dredd and Robocop.

Although I quickly fell in love with this game, the visuals, the sounds, the rich upgrade systems, so much variety... it was love at first sight.

But my heart was crushed too soon tho, by the tedious medal-collecting level-unlocking system, which I always hate. I knew from then on, our love relationship will be very complicated...

It's so sad, the game basically forces me to replay all the stages in chapter 1, that I already finished successfully, but didn't get the extra medals from objectives such as not being seen by anyone and not being hit, not even once.
This is tedious and it is for perfectionists who like feeling frustrated. I am a casual gamer, I like to minimize my frustrations with games and see everything they have to offer, design, gameplay, and story-wise.

I'm have very mixed opinions on this one, I feel I cannot give it a thumbs down, because basically the medal-collecting, level-unlocking system is the only thing I don't really like in this game. Everything else is cool, but at the same time I want to let the developer know, that I think this is not exactly the best game progression design he could've come up with, especially for a causal player like me to enjoy :)

Okay, no. This could be a nice little game but no. There are enemies with lots of HP, super speed (to run into your face) and high damage. Similar idiocies. Bad level design, forced returns (missing gear to completely explore a level, kinda forcing players to revisit them. Same with the "medals". Wonky controls with controller, a bit better but still garbage with KB+mouse.

So imagine developers of Crimsonland (along with Neon Chrome, Tesla vs Lovecraft etc) making a [b]tactical[/b] shooter. And succeeding at it amazingly.

Here's how the game works. For every level you get a main objective (e.g. kill boss) + 3 tasks, such as:
[list][*]Kill all enemies
[*]Finish in 20 seconds
[*]Don't get spotted[/list]
You don't need to get these all at once. In fact, these are 3 separate runs that require different builds and pre-planning, for instance:
[list][*]For "kill all enemies", grab combat upgrades and go nuts, clearing the whole map
[*]For "finish in 20 seconds", stock up on speed and armor upgrades, run in, spam rockets at the boss or whatever, and get out
[*]For "don't get spotted" pick stealth upgrades and go slow, sniping enemies one at a time[/list]

Completing the tasks rewards medals which unlock further missions, higher difficulties, new upgrades, perks and the such. Each level has 4 difficulty levels which aren't too different themselves gameplay-wise but the tasks get significantly more challenging on higher difficulties.

Tasks are unique per level per difficulty, so 18 levels x 4 difficulty levels x 3 tasks = 216 medals to 100%. It's a lot of fun from start to end. Go get to work :)

좋았을 뻔했으나 그러지 못한 인디게임의 전형적인 표본.

전작인 네온 크롬에서 이어지는 듯한 후속작.
게임 스타일도 전반적으로 비슷하나 '메달'의 개념이 새롭게 추가됨.
문제는 이 메달의 갯수가 다음 스테이지의 해금요소인데 노멀 난도만으로는 해금이 불가하다.
불만이 많았는지 패치를 통해서 필요 메달갯수를 줄이는 옵션을 추가했다.(난 까먹고 안씀)
그냥 가볍게 엔딩만 보고 지울거면 상관없는데 도전과제 100%를 노린다면 가급적 안 하길 권한다.
메달을 획득하기 위해서 단 한 번도 눈에 안띄거나, 한 번도 안맞거나, 단 하나도 안부시거나 등의 이상한 조건들도 만족해야 하기 때문이다.

사운드트랙이 그나마 이 게임에서 건질 수 있는 장점.

6/10: 찍먹은 해볼만한 수준(도전과제 100% 한정 4/10)

[b]Fun, frantic, and strategic top-down shooter with destructible environments - yet there's more to it than meets the eye.[/b]

On the surface game is based on playing through missions with a variety of three simple objectives each - save hostages, kill specific targets, defuse bombs, do not get spotted, finish in X seconds, etc. It might not seem as much but if you let yourself for a ride and play extra difficulties - you'll find out a surprising amount of depth when it comes to solving each mission. Some force on you a stealth approach, while others will demand going rambo blasting through walls gunning down unfortunate souls or literally speedrunning the map.

How you gonna achieve these is up to you!

JYDGE can be adjusted between each mission with perks that have an impact on the final playstyle. On top of that, your trusty GAVEL gun can be customized with its own perks, weapon style, and special ability. For such simple-looking game customization is rich and at the same time not overwhelming, since you're restricted to only a few upgrades at a time.

The icing on a cake is definitely destructible environments which also add a layer of tactics. Smash through a wall or glass and gun baddie down instead of going through doors. Doors require a specific key to open? Blast 'em. Street lights messing up your sneaky way in? Break 'em.

Bad guys aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, balance is also wacky when it comes to weapons or perks but at the very end - you can pick what suits you best and it will most likely work out. You will definitely need to juggle your setup throughout the game if you want to get every possible medal.
