Jet Car Stunts scratches a very specific itch — it's essentially Trackmania with rockets strapped to your car, and that premise alone carries it pretty far. The platforming levels are the highlight, with some genuinely creative and demanding tracks that make you feel clever when you nail a tricky jump. That said, the controls take some getting used to, especially in the air, and I'd strongly recommend a controller over keyboard if you have one. The Collector mode feels tacked on and frustrating compared to the tighter design of the other modes, and the lack of real multiplayer (ghosts don't count) leaves the game feeling a bit empty. It's a fun, if limited, arcade experience — worth picking up on sale if you enjoy precision racing challenges.

The core idea is good and it is a shame the devs did not not port the JCS2 instead.
Gameplay is fun, but there is only little to do level wise.
I remember buying JCS2 for 5,49$ and having hundreds of levels, so i felt never ending content. This version has less levels ported, so because of this the shift in difficutly is steap.
Controlls feel responsive, drifting is very satisfying.

I used to love it on the phone, now, this is a mid recomendation. The most fun is the platform mode, which includes 25 levels. The time trials is boring, 5 laps per track and the collector mode 💀 Can't be bothered to finish this up. So, will i ever finish this game? I don't know. I wish i could, if i am desperate enough for more platform levels, but the difficulty and the other two modes are annoying a little.

I rate this a 6/10, 7/10 of nostalgia.

It had a pleasing nostalgic feel, i am grateful for!
Although it wore out quick, after three hours or so.

Jet Car Stunts - to wyścigowa zręcznościowa gierka 3d w której staramy się ukończyć trasy w jak najszybszym czasie oraz z jak najmniejszą ilością resetów. Do dyspozycji mamy boost, hamowanie oraz lekkie obracanie autem w powietrzu. Są 3 tryby gry:
Platforming - W którym dużo tras jest z dosyć trudnymi skokami w większość którymi leci się "na czuja"
Time trial - 5 okrążeń po dosyć łatwych trasach, najlepiej jechać z ciągle używanym boostem
Collector - Trzeba zebrać diamenciki pochowane w różnych dziwnych miejscach niezwiązanych z główną trasą.
Ogólnie przyjemna ale też trochę wymagająca gra, szczególnie na ostatnich poziomach z każdego trybu. Jest również tablica wyników której nie da się wyświetlić ale pokazuje pozycje naszego czasu.
Da się zdobyć wszystkie osiągnięcia. ✅

La verdad es que es uno de mis juegos favoritos de toodos lo que se lanzaron originalmente para telèfonos mòviles ya que lo comenzè a jugar nada màs y nada menos que en IPhone 3GS, y aùn lo sigo disfrutando a pesar que mi Laptop multitarea anterior màs antiguo tuvo demasiaaaados problemas con el rendimiento al ejecutarlo pero eso no quita que sea un mal PC, hasta que despues de un tiempo lo cambiè a otro con un Core I3 de 11th generaciòn y funciona PERFECTO=ESCENCIA. Lo re mil recomiendo a quienes les gutan los remastereds como este Port de Steam

Rather bad racing game that tries to be challenging but falls short into the pit stop. Vehicle control generally is ok but it have some flaws. Many times you'll have to maneuver in mid-air to not crash on obstacles during flight - lots of trial and error. Game would be more fun with better mid-air control. When time limit is exceeded it's game over. Visuals are basic. Tries to be a bit like Trackmania but it's not.

я был крайне удивлён увидев эту игру в стиме
но это на самом деле даже к лучшему
я прошел её много раз на телефоне и может быть когда нибудь пройду её и тут
без акселерометра будет непривычно конечно же, но это одна из тех игр с которыми я знакомился будучи мелким телефонным геймером
возможно тут управление будет лучше чувствоваться с каким нибудь контроллером, хз, контроллера нет(
когда нибудь и тут пройду её, возможно имеет смысл знакомится с этой игрулей имея контроллер, для более вменяемого управления
возможно может понравится любителям гонок

Não é meu tipo de jogo (nem lembro como obtive ele), então não vou continuar a jogar, mas pelo que pude testar ele é simples, funcional e até um pouco divertido, controle um carro que têm um modo turbo finito e conclua vários levels contra o tempo e de plataforma. Como o visual é simples como todo resto do jogo acho que é um jogo legal pra quem têm crianças novas de gostam de carros, corridas e saltos.
Não é um jogo sobre gráficos, mas sim sobre velocidade e adrenalina puras.

It's not my type of game (I don't even remember how I got it), so I won't continue playing it, but from what I've tested it's simple, functional and even a little fun. Control a car that has a finite turbo mode and complete several levels against time and platformers. Since the visuals are simple like the rest of the game, I think it's a cool game for those who have young children who like cars, racing and jumping.
It's not a game about graphics, but about pure speed and adrenaline.

The name of the game is self explanatory, you do stunts in Jet Car(s). Blue car for Time Attack levels, Orange car with Flight Based levels and of course the classic gamemode, the Red Jet Car that you use to finish levels with countless trials and stunts. As for controls id say its kinda like Trackmania + Rocket League but with much less sensitive flight controls..

安卓2时期的游戏，在十年前玩过的手机游戏，当时惊艳于这“高清”的天空远景，驾驶着会飞的车在高空闯关竞速，心旷神怡，抱着摩托罗拉智能机，坐在天翼3g就是快的海报下一玩就是一下午，心中最向往的是邻居家那可以720p流畅运行cf的“顶级电脑”，如今，在steam上意外地找到了这款游戏，重新拾起，当天空与云层在1920*1080的显示器中失真时，我略显生疏地操控着熟悉的赛车，尘封的童年记忆伴随着游戏里的夕阳穿透屏幕照射在我心里。

Jet Car Stunts is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. This mobile app is a simple racing low poly 3D racing game unremarkable in all respects. It's "futuristic" which just means it's like a jet car and there's 3D jumps and stuff, but the mobile app presentation here cements this game as nothing but pure moble app garbage.

From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.

There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision.

The mobile app features lazy minimalist/untextured low-polygon "retro" assets and visuals, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the early 1990s. The lack of textures is a method that lazy devs often use to disguise their lack of talent/interest in doing the graphics properly and trying to disguise it under the name of "art", or "We made it look bad on purpose", which really isn't something gamers should have to put up with. It's unclear why the developers weren't willing to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets and high resolution textures for the mobile app. It looks bad as a result of their decisions, and that's just another reason to avoid it.

It's apparent that little to no testing for the mobile app was done, at least on modern gaming PCs. In fullscreen, the mobile app doesn't display properly, with the game area drawn outside the viewable space. This is caused by the developer not bothering to ensure the mobile app works on resolutions over 1080p, with very high resolution monitors that use resolution scaling. Because the mobile app area is not drawn correctly, it doesn't map to the mouse pointer properly, so the mobile app itself simply cannot be played. Gamers shouldn't be forced to accept defective products just because developers don't bother with basic testing on PC.

Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the mobile app was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The mobile app is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone.

Some of the defects in the mobile app can be attributed to the choice of using the video game construction kit/toolset, ShiVa3D Engine, everyone's favorite ripoff of Unity, only way worse in all respects, so it's no wonder it's an abandoned engine. This is a very poor quality toolset sometimes used by amateur/unskilled developers as it doesn't require advanced game development skills, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities. Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine.

These technical defects push this mobile app below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

I have a lot of nostalgia for this game, I remember playing the demo for this when I first got a smartphone and thinking it was amazing. The mechanics are actually really decent, drifting is super satisfying and the rocket is just hard enough to use that it doesnt feel broken to use.

I have two main complaints focusing around controller support and map design, controller was very annoying to use as the triggers were very buggy and inconstant for me. About 50% of the time the game just didn't recognise inputs from triggers, sometimes for up to 20 seconds. This meant I had to use face buttons instead which wasn't a deal breaker but is frustrating as im used to triggers. After playing a lot of other racing games, especially trackmania which feels like the same genre of racing game, the maps in this game just arent that great. They feel like unrefined, unimaginative, and simple layouts that were drawn on a whiteboard in a afternoon, it just doesnt match what ive come to expect from other games.

Even given that, for how cheap it is the game is worth it for a couple hours of fun, even if just for the unique driving mechanics and/or nostalgia. I did not hunt for better times/medals but did get every achievment in about 3 1/2 hours.

Had this game on my iPad as a kid and being able to replay it on Steam was a nice nostalgia hit. I am surprised that there isn't any DLC for this game, since they did release a level pack for the mobile version years ago. A lot of fun but it would be nice to be able to play those extra levels again.

小车不是无敌的，撞到墙壁会boom的~而且物理特性很棒！
就是操作键位诡异，感觉默认键位非常不好用（可以自定义）

赛道车辆都比较简单，还有幽灵车（我特么才不和那些高手比速度呢！）
赛道上总有各种需要飞跃的地方，还有存档点。每个存档点都会恢复N2O~
有些关卡感觉有bug，或者说我找不到飞上去的办法~

Tight controls that feel really good mixed with some fun obstacle racing makes Jet Car Stunts a blast to play. It's fun to pick up and play for a few hours to get the best time. It's a go to game for me when I want to play something for a little bit and to scratch that driving game itch. Jet Car Stunts is stupid and fun, it will make you laugh and it might make you rage but it's a fun little game to play.

惜しいゲーム。序盤は面白かったが、楽しくない方向に難易度があがってしまった。

ジェットのゲージを駆使して、路面を疾走したり空を飛んだりする。ゲージは頻繁に回復できるので、おおむね好きなときに爆走できる。ハンドリングも良く、ジェットで軌道修正もできるので、操作に対する納得感は高い。緩やかなカーブに合わせてジェットを使ってドリフトするのが、簡単にできる上に楽しい。

しかしステージの要求が悪くなる。最初はせいぜい簡単なジャンプとカーブしか無いが、そのうちジャンプ中に方向修正ができないことを利用したコース取りの難しさを導入してくる。

ただしこの辺もエアブレーキで空中でもブレーキをかけられることもあり、まあぎりぎり許せる。コースに合わせた速度管理が主眼に置かれつつあることに不安を抱きはじめるが、よくあるレースゲームの要素だ。ゲートにぶつかるのもよくあるストレス要素だ。問題ない。

気になって後の方のステージを見てみたらひどい。台の上にある星を取れというステージがあった。なるほどジャンプ台で飛んで空中制御しながら星を取るのかと思いたくなるが、ジャンプ台がない。なにもないのでパズルゲーか？と思いながら、足場の端までバックで移動して上を向いてからジェットで飛び立つ。わかったらできるわけではなく何回何十回もやり直す。このやり方でも取れないところもある。いまだにとり方がわからない。

適度にハンドリングが必要なコースを、おおととととか言いながら疾走させてくれれば良いんですよ。なんで車で謎解きロッククライミングしないとだめなんだよ。

Not understanding the negative reviews. It's a port of the iPhone 3G era game, and a good one at that. Nothing fancy in terms of resolution settings, etc. But it's fully functional, works with an XB1 controller, and is just as fun as it ever was.

I would like to see a leader board. I don't know why you can't see what rank you are on a track without replaying it. Seems like something that should be on the level when hovered over it. I've already broke the 100 rank barrier on a few tracks. Love the game. Wish there was a sequel.

Great game on the phone and would be great on PC if this stupid "Ghost Mode" didn't make load times so long. I have a great PC so load times are minimal but I'm having to wait about one minute per level so its either poorly optimised or bad programming.

Poor man's TrackMania with a frustrating to control rocket mounted to the car.

It's decent for the price, but if you can swing it, I'd spend the extra 7€ and buy TrackMania² Stadium.

The physics of the game feel very fun. Unfortunately, the game's inexplicable inability to configure controls well is so bad that the game is actually unplayable. While a controller is plugged in, you cannot use keyboard to control the game, and the game doesn't even detect all of a controller's buttons properly, only allowing me to use half the buttons on my pretty bare bones dual shock controller.

P.S. Yes, this controller functions properly on all other games I use it on.

Bardzo frustrująca gra, w której bez przerwy giniesz nawet na łatwych trsach giniesz po 20-30 razy już nie chce sobie wyobrażać co się dzieje na poziomach bardzo trudnych tam zapewne giniesz po 600-700 razy. Jak ktoś lubi się ciągle denerwować i klnąc na czym świat stoi to tylko polecić grę.

Good concept and idea but the steering controls delays so much it's basically almost impossible to play.
If the steering delay is fixed I'd happily give it a 8/10. It's addicting.

But because of its problems I give it a 4/10 because it's frustrating when its the game's fault you lose.

Was really hoping this was a good port of the game I played when I was a lot younger (App Store). Sadly the controls are delayed and the controls just aren't as good at least on keyboard. It's not a terrible game just not as good as what's on mobile.

It's $3, you get what you pay for. The graphics are absolutely nothing special, the backgrounds are obviously static images, and the amount of play time you get is more than justifiable for the price you pay.

This game is a racing platformer. You use a racecar to traverse platforms. You get a boost ability, and wings (I think?) to slow your descent. The appeal is the challenge. You can't just recklessly use the boost meter. You have to conserve your fuel until the next checkpoint (where you get more fuel) and make sure you're not going too fast or too slow. The game's levels get increasingly harder as you progress the game, and this is perfect as you become familiar with the game.

There's around 25 platforming levels, but there's also time trials where you try to complete these in a certain amount of time which are another 25 levels. These are lighter on the platforming, and more about racing through a track as fast as you can.

Not much to say about the game, but it's genuinely fun.

Speaking as someone who has had this game on their trusty iPod Touch since 2009, I can definately say that this port is well worth buying. In fact calling it a "port" from a mobile game from 8 years ago would be an insult, and that's the last thing I want to do to these developers.

If you don't know what Jet Car Stunts is, the best way to describe it is that it's like Super Meat Boy mixed with Mario Kart, if all the levels in Mario Kart were Rainbow Road and you're alone and the only items and obstacles are physics. The main part of the game focuses on getting your jet powered car to the end of a course in the sky, complete with loops, jumps, hoops and all sorts of things you have to pilot your car through. It's this simple game mechanic that makes it so addictive, mixed with the rewarding controls and physics, which I'll get onto. Some of these levels are taken from the mobile game while a lot of them are new or sort of "refurbished" maps. If you're like me though, you'll often restart in a semi-perfectionist-rage as soon as you crash or fall out for a complete gold record, which I do and have been doing since I played it on my iPod.

You will pick up the controls and the physics incredibly fast, although I've known the physics of the game for a while so that might just be me, as I feel they have given a few tweaks to them. However it was a learning curve to understand how this game controls on an Xbox controller. Not to say that's bad, as mapping the boost and the air brake to the triggers (very important features to controlling your car while airborne) is ingenious and something I didn't know I wanted until I tried it. In the mobile version you had on screen buttons to control them, and now they're set to the triggers, it allows you to finely control how much of your precious afterburner you use, or just using enough of your airbrake to slow you down just enough or if you're on the ground you can use it for some high-speed-brakingu dorifto (drifting feels waaaaay too nice in this)

The visuals get an overhaul too, now they have a sort of cartoon-y artstyle, which I like. It looks better than it did on the mobile versions. While it's more subtle and doesn't impact the look of the game that much compared to its older version, it looks good enough. It also has a few more sounds thrown in compared to the older versions, which are nice too.

The only gripe I've got with this is that the camera is a bit too close to the car, making it hard to aim yourself into the parts of the course at times.

Other than that the game is flawless and deserves you're attention, sale or not.

Es ist mehr oder weniger der PC-port der iOS-Version mit weniger Leveln (1 zu 1 übernommen) und zum doppelten Preis.
Das eine zusätzliche Fahrzeug dieser Version (welches sich verdammt geil fährt) ist leider nur im langsamen und unspaßigen Sammler-Spilmodus spielbar.
Die Fahrphysik ist ebenfalls 1 zu 1 aus der mobilen version was ich cool finde da sie das aller beste an dem Spiel ist.
Wenn ihr jedoch ein Handy mit Android oder iOS habt: es gibt für beide Plattformen Jet Car Stunts 2 kostenlos mit mehr Wagen Strecken Schwierigkeiten und Spielmodi die es Wert sind die Haptik eines Controllers und die Bildschirmdiagonale eines PC-Monitors zu opfern.
Schade das so etwas nicht geportet wird.

TLDR: Design flaws. Audiovisually disappointing.

This is a barebones unity-engine looking game with impressive and solid level of control for driving and good Xbox360 pad support. However the whole jet fuel gimmick and having you go through hoops is botched, the controls and mechanics are poorly designed and the interactivity is poor to the point of dooming you to die on a regular basis. To make matters worse there is no resolution support and the level design consists of geometric shapes making a rough outline of a pathway for you to drive on floating in the middle of mid air. Removed for declutter.

TL;DR: Get this game if you enjoy Trackmania, F-Zero X/GX, Burnout, throwing your controller in a fit of childish rage, or the batmobile chace sequence from Batman Begins.

Jet Car Stunts is not a traditional racing game. It's a test of patience, skill, and anger management. There is no such thing as 'easy' here. The difficulty starts at 'Intermediate' and quickly proceeds to 'melting your face off'. Yeah, I know the game says 'very easy' in the menus, but it's not. I'm reminded of F-Zero GX in terms of difficulty, and to some extent gameplay. Whomever coded the physics engine knew exactly what they were doing. The physics are solid and consistant. The car initiates a drift seamlessly and predictably every time you expect it to. Driving this car makes me feel like an unholy fusion of Batman and Fujiwara Takumi. Flying this car makes me feel like a bullet fired out of a gun, at least until I hit a floating cube or the side of a mid-air hoop and disintegrate, muttering darkly as I restart the entire level from the beginning. That said, starting the level over is actually extremely quick and painless, moreso than restarting from checkpoint. Not only is there no loading screen to start over, but you don't have to wait for the countdown. It's more of a suggestion, really. just hit the gas to bypass the starting countdown and you are Drifting with delight in mere seconds.
This game does have its flaws however, with little content,little reason to ever restart form a checkpoint, and stark level designs. But my biggest issue is how timing and replays were handled. Sure, the timer functions and is reliable, but it does nothing else. It would be nice to be able to see by exactly how much you are ahead or behind the actual ghosts you are at each checkpoint. You may only view a replay upon conclusion of a stage, and only until you exit the menu. after that, the replay is lost forever. Moreover, you may only keep your single best ghost for each stage. This means, that if I actually manage to do some cool jet car 'stunts' on a level, I have no way of storing that sick run if it is not my fastest on the stage. I would also like the ability to choose to race one of my friend's ghosts instead of some random stranger. Finally, the medal times on the stages are far too slow and they don't have actual ghosts representing them.
All in all, jet car stunts for PC retains the casual 'pick up and play' attitude from the mobile release, but gives you the option of an actual controller. This is a rare combination of arcade racer and 3D platformer that actually works. the game is by no means flawless, but its positives outweigh the negitives by a wide margin.

There's a really good chance you'll give up on Jet Car Stunts with a sour taste in your mouth. It's difficult, yes, very difficult. I've had several short burts of frustration and enjoyment in the near 3.5h I played it before writting this review. As such, you either need to be looking for this kind of game or be in the right mood to play it - if that's the case, I can recommend Jet Car Stunts, especially with the sale price.

There's just one car (+1 in Collector mode) , and a good amount of levels, and 3 game modes, and hard to master controls. The jet + air brake mechanics are good (just that).

As it's often the case in games that focus on time trials and speedrunning, it's the player's drive for improvement that determines how replayable Jet Car Stunts is - if all you want is to get through each track once and in a single game mode, you may feel it's short, while I feel it offers a lot of content.

Each level has check points, such that if you destroy your car or get off the track you don't have to restart from the beginning. This is a smart decision by the devs. due to the nature of the game (a difficult driving platformer), as it eases your way to the finish line and given it can feel like a chore when you get stuck on a platforming section. Some players would prefer to respawn exactly where they crashed, but with that you would not have to successfully complete each stunt, so I'm happy with checkpoints.

You can complete the game faster and with less repetition because of the check points, but of course if you want to improve your time and/or get gold medals you have to go through the tracks without retries.

In Platforming mode, you get gold medals for completing the course without retries. In Time Trial mode you get gold medals for finishing 5 laps within the required time. In Collector mode there are no medals, you just collect stars that are in hard to reach locations.

The gameplay is quite different in Collector mode when compared to Platforming and Time Trial - your boost regenerates automatically and you have more air control. It takes time to adjust, and this is by far the least enjoyable game mode, particularly because my feel is it's too difficult to consistently and repeatedly pull off the stunts.

Overall I like it, and for me it was a steal at the sale price, but going back to the initial paragraph in my review I recommend it if you are looking for this type of game and/or you are in the mood for playing a challenging game that will kill you a lot.

This is a great game for $0.50!

What I think.
The controls are a little weird, you can't steer left or right while in the air. If you have ever played Trackmania you should feel familiar with this game. It kind of reminds me of the flash game Rocket Car that I played 10 years ago.

Performance.
Runs on my 2005 Pentium D / GT640 Desktop and it runs on my i5 / HD3000 laptop.

Things to improve.
It could use a map editor.

6/10 It is a short game if you are good or just don't care about getting gold on everything.

Update: 100% the game at 13.7 hours, probably about 11 hours of actual play time, lots of Top 20 rankings, gold metals with 0 retrys for all Platforming and Time Trial stages, completed all Collection stages.

Warning: if you rage easily, this is a game that you should probably avoid, some of the stages SUCK! There were 4 stages that each took me over an hour to get the gold with no retrys!

Game doesn't have much content but it makes up for it by having some of the best driving in a video game.

Its really fun.

This is the type of driving gameplay i'd love to see in an open world game with cars like I mean if an indie game can do it what the heck are AAA devs excuse.
