Jagged Alliance 1: Gold Edition war für seine Zeit ohne Frage ein ambitioniertes Spiel. Die Story Inszenierung war 1994 überraschend hoch angesetzt und da hätten sich viele Titel aus den späten 90ern tatsächlich eine Scheibe abschneiden können. Auch der PC Port der Gold Edition ist für ein so altes Spiel technisch sauber umgesetzt, es ist stabil, problemlos startbar und ohne größere Macken. In dieser Hinsicht machen es manche modernisierten Klassiker heute deutlich schlechter, ich schaue dich an Tomb Raider!

Trotzdem hilft all das aus heutiger Sicht nur noch wenig. Das Gameplay wirkt extrem sperrig, die Benutzeroberfläche ist wirklich sehr altmodisch und unnötig kompliziert und Komfort Features moderner Strategiespiele fehlen komplett. Viele Aktionen sind schlecht erklärt, umständlich gelöst und fühlen sich eher nach Arbeit als nach Spielspaß an. Gerade neue Spieler werden hier sehr schnell frustriert aufgeben. Auch Grafik und Animationen sind stark veraltet und tragen kaum noch zur Atmosphäre bei. Das Kampfsystem ist zwar theoretisch taktisch, fühlt sich aber träge und wenig befriedigend an. Die Gegner KI ist simpel, das Balancing stellenweise unfair und man ist oft gezwungen, Situationen durch Neuladen zu lösen statt durch clevere Strategie.

Ja, man erkennt das gute Grundkonzept, die strategische Tiefe und die Bedeutung des Spiels für das Genre. Aber genau hier liegt das Problem. Jagged Alliance 1 funktioniert heute eher als Zeitzeugnis denn als wirklich spielbares Strategiespiel. Aus heutiger Sicht ist das Spiel kaum noch empfehlenswert. Empfehlen kann man es eigentlich nur Spielern, die starke nostalgische Gefühle damit verbinden oder sich bewusst mit Spielegeschichte beschäftigen möchten. Allen anderen würde ich raten, sich moderne Alternativen anzusehen und ihr Geld lieber zu sparen.

Она не стоит и 15. Если только из ностальгии для тех, кто в неё играл в 1994 году. Палец вверх только потому, что продукт достался бесплатно.

Really impressive mechanics and AI.

My playtime on Jagged Alliance was entirely on the first day, repeatedly killing friendlies and wondering why I was not progressing. After banging my head for a while, I decided to look up some playthroughs to learn how to play, since the game does not have a tutorial or any kind of help/information.

I realized immediately this was not the game for me, but I could see the effort put into it and the richness and depth achieved. So many interesting systems and mechanics. Some of them were really surprising for the time. The AI also has some really unique interactions with reasonable thinking. The way the gameplay jumps from real-time to turn-based also felt ahead of its time. All the different management systems mixed characters full of personality, each with their own voice actor, produced another layer to an already interesting project.

Graphics are good, with some really characteristic and charming cutscenes sprinkled in, and the soundtrack is also enjoyable.

Old graphics that only provide minimal visual aid and a little bit of nostalgia and clunky interface due to hardware limitations of the time makes the learning curve even tougher. Therefore the only thing that could make me try to keep playing this is the story, that is also basic af.

💥 Jagged Alliance 1: Gold Edition - Strategy, Mercenaries, and a Whole Lot of Explosions

Jagged Alliance 1: Gold Edition is a classic, tactical RPG where you recruit mercenaries, take on strategic missions, and try not to get your team wiped out in a hail of gunfire. The game mixes turn-based combat, deep strategy, and a bit of that good old-fashioned mercenary chaos. Think XCOM, but with a lot more personality and a lot more explosions.

Pros:

* Tactical Combat at Its Best: The real-time-with-pause combat is satisfying and requires careful planning. Positioning, line of sight, and ammo management are key one bad move can lead to a deadly firefight.

I got this game for free, and Jagged Alliance Gold is an old classic. It’s perfect for anyone interested in Turn-Based Strategy titles.

The design and features in Jagged Alliance Gold are well thought out. It just hits different, when you load up this ancient classic on your Steam Deck and it works flawlessly. I could never play this game through, partly because of its difficulty level, partly because of lack of motivation to learn all the winning strategies needed to success. I was more into XCOM back then. But now I will give it another shot, 30+ years later :)

Back in 1995 I spent hundreds of hours with this game. This was my favorite tactical strategy game along with Ufo Enemy Unknown (the original first Xcom 1994). But it's such a shame, the sweet memories don't live up today. What was high tech and smooth back then, seems now so clunky and awkward. It's the only thing that keeps me playing this again. I tried!! But urghh the UI is so clunky :D ...If you remakers remaking crap games and "classics", then you should remake this one, one of the few games that actually would deserve a remake.

If someone would tell me 25 years ago when I was excited by Jagged Alliance 2 that in 2025 I will replay Jagged alliance 1 again I dont think I would believe it. Even less that it will be total blast..

It is true that Jagged alliance has excellent sequel (and 3 is not bad either after all..) but I was still amazed how well the original was really done, sure it is old, sure it has some technical flaws, sure it require read the manual (btw it is in game files, I can also highly suggested this official strategy guide https://www.moddb.com/downloads/ja1 but it stay excellent, all formulas works flawlessly, your team of mercenaries raise from greens to Rambo superiors.. atmosphere is super captivating and force you capture just 1 more sector and go sleep... Game keep you on toes with events that constantly threat your finance and operation and the fight stay challenging till very end - in opposite to trivial and disappointing ending of UFO/XCOM, Jagged alliance nailed it and at end are elite enemies that almost never miss and are same or even better equiped and trained than player team..

And when you finally get to main antagonist Lucas Santino he blow up whole base.. escaping it with covering shots against pursuing enemies stay most memorable strategy experience.

It was absolute joy kick Santino ass again and I can only suggest it.

Contrary to Steam usual habits, JA1 also come with Dosbox and automatic configuration so it is playable on any system without need to play with mods or configs.

Non ricordo nemmeno come mai ho in libreria questo gioco, ma sono abbastanza sicuro di averlo riscattato quando fosse gratis per qualche motivo. È andata più o meno così: ho preso un bundle con Jagged Alliance 3 che essendo uno strategico alla XCom mi ha subito interessato. Ho pensato "Ehy, ma ho anche il primo Jagged Alliance, proviamo prima questo anche se vecchio". Dopo circa mezz'ora di gioco ancora non ero riuscito a FARE PARTIRE la prima missione, perché ovviamente non spiega NULLA di cosa fare, né quali siano i comandi. Ho passato i successivi 15 minuti (col gioco aperto) a guardare un video su youtube che spiegava come giocare, quindi altri 15 minuti riuscendo finalmente ad iniziare la prima missione, non ho ben capito se finendola o meno. Quindi ho smesso di perdere il mio tempo e ho rimosso il gioco.
Forse ancora ancora se fosse stato gratis avrei potuto consigliarlo a qualche nostalgico che va matto per i vecchi giochi con comandi scomodissimi, nessuna informazione su come si gioca e dettagli nel sistema di gioco come ogni singolo proiettile trasportato dai personaggi, ma a pagamento è improponibile.

Tried my best to get into it, but its way to slow. The fun is only for the ones who are nostalgic about the game. I can see the Greatness of the game in 1995 but in 2025 it aged like old milk..once it hits a spot you cant enjoy it anymore.

A little outdated now, but this game is still an addictive piece of turn-based strategy history - one of the first.
It's a 90's game so you'll need to read the manual to figure out how to play, yet despite its age and associated quirks it's very much a "just one more turn" type of game.

If you're not afraid of older DOS-era games that require a little light instruction reading, or you're just a big fan of the genre, this is worth a look.

Ach ja, der Klassiker. Damals habe ich als kleiner Junge Stunden um Stunden in diesem Spiel verbracht. Und he, eigentlich wollte ich nur mal wieder testen, ob diese Version auch noch läuft....
Jetzt habe ich nach 95 Stunden die Insel wieder Mal befreit. Tja, bei einem sehr guten Spiel kann man eben über veraltete Grafik und rückständiges Handling hinwegsehen!

不得不說，這款老遊戲若是在小時候拿到，應該會是非常開心的一件事情！遊戲性實際上蠻豐富的，有各種參數可以思考，加上很多狀況都會影響到你的戰術安排，不過其遊戲節奏對於現代玩家來講是過於緩慢，慢到大量重複性指令＆等待，若想玩真的需要極大的耐心。

Can't go wrong with this classic tactical rpg strategy game with realistic elements from that time period, such as the ai following sounds to each mercenary having not only having different statistics, but different attitudes and reactions to certain mercenaries and actions. Not all mercenaries can be hired at the start, but as the game goes on, more will be willing to work for you, for the right price. Those who played XCOM should give this a try, even though this is a dosbox port of the original. The price may make a little sense since its two games in one download.

And here's a tip: Be sure the first mercenary you get is Ivan, me speaks Russian in all versions and is a bit expensive, but his marksmanship more than pays off, and he is one of the mercenaries that will work for you in the beginning.

the whole window is open in really tiny resolution (about 400x200 only), it's really painful to watch it, the game is really buggy that talking in double speed, the "game play" it you click around a map and see information, maybe a snack tiny game is batter than this crap thing.

Juego de estrategia por turnos publicado en el año 1994 para MS-DOS. La versión de Steam funciona en Windows gracias al emulador DOS Box.

Recuerda a la saga [u][url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/gequi_/recommended/200510]XCOM[/url][/u] pero con ambientación contemporánea de finales del siglo XX.

Decenas de mercenarios para reclutar en el equipo, fomentando la rejugabilidad. Cada uno tiene su propia biografía, habilidades y atributos. El problema es que en ciertos casos se vuelve poco creíble y surgen demasiadas interacciones inesperadas entre personajes que pueden fastidiar la partida, pues resulta complejo de averiguar antes de que ocurra, provocando una enorme pérdida de tiempo.

Gráficos y audio excelentes para la época.

Poco más en positivo, ahora presta atención a lo malo:

[h1]Bugged Alliance[/h1]

- IA enemiga volátil, a veces se dedican a moverse por el terreno sin atacar. En otros casos pueden ser letales.

- Guardar partida rápida es posible en cualquier lugar, aunque solo un hueco disponible. Para las partidas guardadas normales, solo se puede realizar al terminar todos los turnos del día y permite en 10 huecos distintos.

- Dificultad separada en 3 niveles que modifican los costes económicos de personal/inventario y el daño de la IA enemiga. Aún así es bastante difícil incluso en el nivel "fácil"

- Idioma inglés solo, encima no hay subtítulos.

- Fuente de letra que a veces es complicada de leer.

- Opciones de configuración limitadas, por ejemplo no permite modificar el volumen del audio o la música, solo activar/desactivar.

- Tutoriales casi inexistentes. Tampoco hay manual externo en Steam a diferencia de GOG y GameFAQS que sí lo ofrece.

- Sprites femeninos son en realidad los mismos que los masculinos.

- Mecánicas repetitivas, sobre todo la exploración y las armas que se atascan con demasiada frecuencia.

[h1]Conclusión[/h1]

Tiene un gran potencial pero se ve opacado por malas decisiones. Podría recomendarlo pero usando algún otro emulador que permita guardar partida en varios huecos desde cualquier parte y momento, como es el caso de [u][url=https://dosbox-x.com/wiki/#Home#_frequently_asked_questions_faq]DOSBox-X[/url][/u] o [u][url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/gequi_/recommended/1118310]Retroarch[/url][/u]. Pero incluso de esa manera habría que abusar demasiado de esta opción por lo desbalanceada que está la IA y la dificultad.

Otra alternativa es ir directamente a las [u][url=https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/36652/Jagged_Alliance_Ultimate_Bundle/]secuelas[/url][/u] y comprobar si son mejores o no.

Единственная причина играть в эту часть серии - если Вы любите марафонить серии как я.
А так она морально устарела и была кратно во всем лучше во второй части.

Если суммировать мой опыт, а я играл на нормале и сейвскамил, то играть бодро и весело где-то до середины игры (захваченной карты). Вот этот вот первоначальный менеджмент: захват секторов, фабрик для увеличения заработка и сколачивания крепкой команды, ни на шутку увлекают. Основным триггером спада интереса являются отсутствие прогресса в обмундировании (нормальные винтовки появляются только в финальных секторах!) и отсутствия разнообразия в локациях и ситуациях. Интересны только фабрики, где нужно по стелсу устранить врагов, чтобы они не рванули ценное производство. Все остальное - это однообразные леса или хижины в лесах с глупыми врагами, которые тебя постоянно прерывают. Я так и не понял, как нормально штурмовать здания. Дверь после взлома открывается автоматически, а не очень крепкий взломщик получает смертельную дозу свинца от подсевших у двери, прервавших твой ход.
Периодически встречаются квесты, но их немного, а если проходить быстро и нахрапом, то большая часть даже не успеет активироваться (например, болезнь деревьев и создание лекарства).

Deadly Games - когда я проходил давненько игру в первый раз, то как-то решил дропнуть это дополнение сразу. В этот раз решил аддону дать второй шанс. Ну, тут действительно появилось больше тактической вариативности, новые локации, интересные пушки (даже мортира!), ситуации и миссии, но это линейная кампания, т.е. просто цепочка не особо связанных заданий! Если бы все эти задания (стелс, защита, сопровождение) были реинтегрированы в основную игру, то результат был бы гораздо интереснее. А так, основным вызовом было закончить миссии в срок по ходам (играл без всяких патчей) и рассчитать выплаты зарплат наемникам (потому что фиг его знает, какой кэш пообещают через миссию, может и не хватить, а тогда или простой, или увольнение). В аддон не добавили даже новых аудио треков, а оригинальные меня достали уже почти в начале оригинальной игры (ну хотя бы MIDI апгрейднул до MT-32).

В принципе, играбельно, но зачем, когда есть Золотой стандарт JA2?

Fazit:
Jagged Alliance 1 ist ein altes, rundenbasiertes Strategiespiel. Der zweite Teil der Reihe ist für mich immer noch der Beste und hat mich zum Gamer gemacht, weshalb ich unbedingt mal den ersten Teil spielen wollte. Das dieser nicht so gut ist wie sein Nachfolger ist mir bewusst. Dennoch hatte ich es mir schlimmer vorgestellt. Es hatte erstaunlich viel taktische Tiefe für so ein altes Spiel.
Schön fand ich auch einige bekannte Gesichter, wie z.B. Ivan wiederzusehen. Das ist die große Stärke von Jagged Alliance: Die Charaktere, welche ihre eigene Persönlichkeit haben.
Da wir hier von einem Vorgänger der Besten Spiele sprechen, gibt es natürlich auch Kinderkrankheiten. Das erste was mir aufgefallen war, war die nervige Musik. Regelmäßig habe ich die ausgemacht, da diese nach beenden des Spiels immer wieder anging. Die Steuerung ist auch nicht so gut gewesen. Mit etwas Eingewöhnung ging es zwar, aber dennoch wurde nicht immer das Kommando ausgeführt was ich wollte.
Das schlimmste ist jedoch: Alles sieht gleich aus. Ich weiß das die technischen Möglichkeiten damals nicht so hoch waren, aber zumindest die Söldner hätten in anderen Farben dargestellt werden können.
Es hat sehr viel Nostalgie-Wert und eignet sich eher für Fans von Jagged Alliane 2. Dennoch Empfehlenwert!!!!

Tytuł idealny dla każdego gracza w tym fana klasycznych taktycznych strategii rodem z gier X-COM i temu podobnych, posiadająca dobrą linię fabularną oraz niesłychanie wciągającą rozgrywkę.

Nie zwracajcie uwagi na mój czas gry na platformie Steam, gdyż jest nieadekwatny z rzeczywistym czasem spędzonym z tym tytułem, który pierwotnie ogrywałem na innej cyfrowej platformie do gier.

[h1]Ale do rzeczy:[/h1]

Jak już wspomniałem na samym początku tej recenzji mamy tym razem do czynienia z klasycznym tytułem z gatunku gier strategicznych (taktyczno-turowych) w którym to gracz będzie dowodził dobraną przez siebie grupą najemników działających na obszarze tropikalnej wyspy – Metavira. Walczących z uzbrojonymi oddziałami Lucasa Santino siejącego terror wśród jej mieszkańców by nie tylko zyskać pełną kontrolę nad jej terenami co drogocenną leczniczą substancją wydobywaną z drzew na tym małym skrawku ziemi.

Rozgrywka jest typowo klasyczna dla tego typu produkcji, polegać będzie na taktycznej walce najemników gracza z komputerowym przeciwnikiem na obszarze poszczególnych obszarów wyspy – wypierając przeciwnika i przejmując kontrolę nad jej kolejnymi strefami, dbając przy tym by możliwie uniemożliwić wrogim jednostką jej odzyskanie. Im więcej terenu przeciwnika będziecie posiadać pod własna pieczą tym większe pieniądze będą przelewane cyklicznie na wasze konto z racji ich posiadania oraz dodatkowe bonusy z występujących na jej obszarze złóż.

Co do kwestii technicznych, gra działa bezproblemowo na współczesnych systemach operacyjnych, jednakże trzeba wziąć pod uwagę że jest to tytuł z 1994 roku, co czuć po interfejsie który z jednej strony jest prosty w obsłudze to z drugiej strony mało dokładna/szczegółowa pikselowa oprawa graficzna może wywoływać lekkie zamieszanie zwłaszcza podczas akcji przy identyfikacji jednostek na mapie.

This is not a game. It's a time machine. Back to 1997 when you had a hand-me-down computer that could just about run this game. When you had no job, no responsibilities and you were to pretending to do schoolwork while playing computergames. Your friends are in this game. Ivan still talks Russian to you like you understand (and yes you picked up a few words from him over time). Fidel still wants to blow up stuff with you and Wolf is still there to help. Escape these plagueyears of adulthood. Return to better simpler times, hire some mercenaries, set them loose on Metavira or the Deadly Games missions. And if you have, tell your family your doing taxes or online research.

[i]Jagged Alliance[/i] is one of the early turn-based strategy games where you hire and control a squad of mercenaries helping reclaim an island paradise from the bad guys. In addition to the gameplay, the Jagged Alliance franchise is known for its tongue-in-cheek 1980's vibes, mimicking the action movies of the era. Personally I played [i]Jagged Alliance 2[/i] around the time of its release (1999) and absolutely loved it. That said, due to its dated interface and mechanics, I cannot recommend the original [i]Jagged Alliance[/i] for play on modern hardware in 2023 and beyond. There simply are many better alternatives, including now [i]Jagged Alliance 3[/i].

[b]Gameplay[/b]
The gameplay loop in the Jagged Alliance series is basically as follows: hire and equip mercenaries; deploys mercenaries across the map to complete missions; once deployed, engage in turn-based combat leading your mercenaries against opposition forces. This version is no different, but controlling the mercenaries once deployed seems cumbersome compared to the sequels.

[b]Characters/Customization[/b]
Even in this version of Jagged Alliance, all of the mercenaries have different skill sets: one merc might be a great medic whereas another, a great marksman. As the leader of the group, you have the ability to equip each mercenary with gear that takes advantage of their skills. Some mercs are clearly weaker or more powerful than others, but this imbalance is reflected in the salary of each merc. Each merc also has a distinct personality that shines through in the one-liners that the merc occasionally speaks.

[b]Story/Atmosphere[/b]
Each iteration of Jagged Alliance also follows a similar storyline--which is oddly appropriate given how so many 1980's action movies seemed carbon copies of one another. There is usually a locale, a tropical island nation, where forces of evil are taking over, and the innocent civilian populations needs outside help to defeat the bad guys. And so you and your mercenaries are hired to take on the challenge. Sure, it's rather formulaic, but again you can also make the case that it is paying homage to the genre in doing so.

[b]Graphics/Sound[/b]
You know that you will be in for a cringe experience when a DOS box pops up prior to the game booting up. I did not actually encounter any issues with the game, per se, but it is badly dated across the board with rather clunky mechanics. This is the main reason I do not recommend playing this title today.

[b]Replay Value:[/b] I did not complete the game. Years before I had completed its sequal, and now there is a brand new entry in the franchise.

[b]Overall Score:[/b] 4/10. Have to give the game some credit for paving the way for its sequels [i]Jagged Alliance 2[/i] and [i]Jagged Alliance 3[/i] which I have enjoyed tremendously.

This is one of the must have classics if you are into turn based games! I've enjoyed every hour (total of 87.4) playing Jagged Alliance Gold Edition. Even though the graphics are really old school, it still has it's charm! I'm looking forward to try Jagged Alliance II! This is a game I first played when I was 11 years old and now being 40 it was pretty cool to refresh my memories. Highly recommend!

In conclusion, Jagged Alliance 1: Gold Edition is a very retro and legendary game. The game is very successful both visually and aurally. The game is very interesting both as a strategy and as an adventure. The game is both a classic and an experience. The game both entertained me and made me think. The game made me happy and sad at the same time. The game both frightened and encouraged me. The play both surprised and satisfied me. The play was an unforgettable play for me. I remember playing this game, not knowing what I was doing, just scared about the strange German man shouting.

Ah yes here it is, the great game in its infancy. Every thing you love about Jagged Alliance 2 is right here, in the original cute little blocky game. It’s like they had JA2 in mind all along, but this was the graphics technology they had to work with at the time. I gave myself hemorrhoids replaying this game in 2023. And darn it, I would do it again!

A great game, which was one of my favourites as a kid. Graphics are, of course, outdated, but everything else is still top-notch. It looks simple but there was so much strategy in this game, and you could make your own levels which was unbelievable at the time.

I'm surprised how well it's aged gameplay wise. If you want a trip down memory lane, or like Jagged Alliance 2 and would like to see where it all started I highly recommend it.

Returning to this classic now since I didn't truly play it when it was new. Still very enjoyable when you figure out the DOS era user interface which is a puzzle of it's own for 2020s gamers. :P Also quick save / restore was a thing and once you learn to use it you will save many hours of frustration. If you're willing to put few moments of effort to learn workarounds of the clumsiness of an old game then this one is recommended.

Ich verstehe nicht warum es Steam nicht schafft das Spiel in deutscher Sprache anzubieten.
Zum Glück gibt es eine gute Community die dies bereit stellt. Insofern sehr gutes Spiel, auch wenn die Grafik natürlich von "damals" ist.

Krótka piłka: Jagged Alliance grałem kiedyś i zaczyna się ona fajnym klimatycznym intro, ale już wtedy 2 rzeczy mi w tej ciekawej grze nie pasowały. Nieintuicyjne sterowanie oraz słabe tempo gry (a dzisiaj to jeszcze bardziej widać). Mam wrażenie, że ta gra lepiej poradziłaby sobie bez trybu taktycznego, który bardzo spowalnia tempo. Scenografia z tymi drzewami też jest dość repetytywna. A w tym samym czasie, bo w 1993 wyszła trochę podobna i wg mnie znacznie lepsza gra bez tych wad (Cannon Fodder). Szkoda też, że do tej wersji Jagged Alliance na Steam nie dorzucili achievków, steam clouda i kart kolekcjonerskich. Wersja Gold jednak sobie na to zasłużyła.

1/3 стакана сахара;
230 г сливочного сыра или маскарпоне;
1 чашка стружки белого шоколада;
1 чайная ложка ванильного экстракта;
щепотка соли;
2 стакана холодных густых сливок;
1/2 стакана сахарной пудры.
Для пропитки:

1 стакан сладкого вина сангрии;
4-6 чашек нарезанных фруктов и ягод.
Сначала приготовьте бисквит. Разогрейте духовку до 180 градусов и застелите круглые формы для выпечки пергаментной бумагой.

Миксером смешайте яйца, сахар и ваниль. Взбивайте на высокой скорости в течение 7-9 минут, пока масса не станет пышной и почти белой.

Просейте через сито сухие ингредиенты и добавляйте небольшими порциями. Используйте лопаточку, чтобы аккуратно перемешивать тесто.

Разделите тесто поровну между двумя формами. Выпекайте в предварительно разогретой духовке 20 минут, пока бисквит не станет золотистым. Достаньте из духовки и проведите ножом по краю формы, чтобы отделить коржи от стенок. Дайте коржам полностью остыть в формах. После остывания используйте длинный зазубренный нож, чтобы разрезать коржи вдоль, получив четыре коржа.

Теперь готовьте крем. Сначала приготовьте ягодный соус и дайте ему остыть перед использованием, ведь горячий соус растопит взбитые сливки.

Смешайте малину (или другие ягоды) и сахар в небольшой кастрюле. Используйте ложку, чтобы раздавить ягоды; если используете клубнику, нарежьте ее кубиками перед приготовлением. Доведите ягоды до кипения на среднем огне и варите 5 минут, пока масса не станет однородной. Протрите полученный соус через сито, чтобы избавится от семян и мякоти. Теперь собирайте торт. Пропитайте каждый корж сангрией, выложите нарезанные фрукты, или ягоды, выложите слой крема и повторите, пока коржи не закончатся. Покройте торт кремом сверху и с боков. Украсьте его фруктами и ягодами. Поместите торт в холодильник на ночь.

concentrate on the deep strategic gameplay and the atmosphere... I suggest playing very hard without combat safe for full experience!! And the light variant, very hard with combat safe...

Jagged Alliance is the original turn based mercenary game that that started it all, first released way back in 1995. This game is fun, difficult, but being nearly 30 years old and essentially the original game (and its sequel deadly games) running in a dos box emulator has some serious quality of life issues that you can’t patch around. While I think Jagged Alliance 2 the best one in the series (seriously if you haven’t played that, you should), you could do much worse than playing JA if you’re willing to put up with ancient graphics.

[B]Story[/B]
The story starts off with your Merc company being contacted to help liberate the island of Metavira, where a unique sap that has medical properties is produced. One of the initial researchers of this sap has taken over the island by force seeing the profit that could be made, and the other research team wants you to help liberate it. Deadly games is a series of linked missions that removes the management of the world map, but takes you with more focused outcomes in each stage.

[B]Gameplay[/B]
Gameplay has you operating from the last sector on the island not under Santino’s control, and from there you have to liberate the rest of the island and kill Santino (who is heavily defended and on the exact other side of the island). This involves picking your Merc team (you actually get enough funds to do this, but none of them will be top tier merc’s and you can’t buy additional equipment for them), and then set across each grid that correlates to a map sector. Missions are handed out by Jack (the head scientist who hired you) and while you can ignore them, its best to focus on them as they affect your pay and how well the locals think you are doing, and are issued either at the beginning of each day or when certain maps have been cleared. Missions parameters are only hinted at, which can really affect how you progress through the game (eg clearing out a waterway doesn’t actually tell you it’s 5 map sectors that need to be cleared (and kept clear) of enemies, and rescuing his daughter from one of 4 random sectors depending on which ones you have cleared with a set time limit before she is killed was brutal.

Income is fairly limited in the beginning, with you needing to clear sectors that have the fallow trees on them, and then assign workers to harvest the sap, or processing plants (to actually process the trees). Guards need to be hired on liberated sectors, as enemy patrols regularly attack them, and there’s nothing worse than having to backtrack and try and recapture something you already cleared or having workers refuse to produce sap as they feel unsafe. They can be moved around as you take control of sectors, but care needs to taken so they won’t cross waterways or they become lunch for giant eels that live in the water.

Ammo, equipment and Merc moral are the other biggest factors you need to manage outside combat. Some Mercs hate working with others and I swear they purposely shoot each other if one managed to get in front in a firefight. Ammo and equipment is limited, you can’t just go around the maps with a spray and pray attitude, and you need to loot and explore each map as you go through them to make sure you have everything you can loot of value. Equipment (guns especially) degrade when used or if submerged and there’s nothing worse than having a gun jam, or a grenade fail to explode (or explode in your hand) during combat. The game is unintuitive for searching as there no indication if the thing your clicking on (say a cabinet or desk) would normally hold anything of value. You can also end up with a bunch of keys that won’t open any doors. And inventory management is critical (there’s some hard choices in what is essential to take each mission)

Combat is challenging, but is usually fun. Each Merc in your team has a set amount of action points (AP), used for walking, running, changing positions, reloading or firing weapons. When firing at enemies you can spend more AP to take you aim, which increases your chances of hitting the enemy. Different guns and ammo types can have better damage output, range and offer better chances to hit, but the early weapons are all handguns which make the first few stages feel like the hardest.

The AI isn’t terribly smart, but knows enough to get into cover (and doesn’t have to worry about conserving ammo and loves throwing grenades), or will try and bait you to chase them when wounded. As long as you keep your Mercs in roughly the same area and in cover, you should be outnumbering any enemy you encounter and have an angle on them where you don’t miss every shot.

[B]Graphics[/B]
In today’s world, the graphics are atrocious, but this was considered fairly detailed when released. Being a emulated copy, there’s little to no graphic’s support, and I had to play it in a window and change my scaling settings so it would display properly. Dropped items are nearly invisible on the ground (it’s easier to collect the items in map mode). Objects aren’t clearly defined, so it can become a exercise of trying to search everything to see if it might hold something of value.

[B]Music[/B]
There’s only a few music tracks in the game which loop continuously (which is fine), a combat tune when fighting, and a all-clear music when there are no enemies around. Each Merc has a few lines of dialogue when they get shot or when initially hired, but other than a few lines spoken by the natives guides (if you take them) when entering a sector there’s not a lot of voice work.
