An RTS game on a Sci-Fi setting made by the same crazy guys behind the Kingdom Rush saga. Players will command several squads of units ranging from specialized soldiers, unstoppable mechas and of course, Hero units both human and extraterrestrial. The fight spans across exotic planets against fearsome alien creatures and factions. This game won’t be a part of the Kingdom Rush franchise. It is an entire new universe to explore. It is also a different genre since this game will be more of a casual RTS.

It's meh, if you support the Kingdom Rush series then you may be able to push your way through, as there are some similarities (cause same dev of course). However, the difficulty is ridiculous at times, and pretty sure some of the maps are broken, not so much directly game breaking, but some conditions sometimes happen that cause maps to suddenly become unwinnable, basically wasting time. Worth maybe 75% off and up, but gonna put it as a no recommend, one of those middle of the road cases.

Malisimo.
Que su estilo animado no te engañe, no es un juego sencillo.
Hasta te diría que es mas difícil que Helldivers.
Porque es casi igual, tenes muy pocos soldados y héroes que podes comandar y basicamente tenes que adentrarte en misiones que claramente la descripción del juego lo dice ''sin misericordia''. Que son capturar bases aliadas, rescatar ''civiles'' de otros planetas que no pueden correr. Porque quizá está de mas decir que hay una invasión alienígena y te meten un civil que apenas puede caminar mientras llegan hordas de bichos deformes que escupen ácido y tenes que ingeniartelas para sobrevivir. En un mundo donde existen naves espaciales tenes que ir a pie suena ilógico.
Y eso que apenas lo toqué un par de horas y no superé el primer mundo.
Pensé que sería un tower defense por los devs, pero no. Hasta te diría que AOE en la dificultad mas alta es fácil en comparación con esto.
Y yo no juego para frustrarme, juego para divertirme.
Tenes solo 3 unidades con opciones limitadas de armamento, habilidades activas y pasivas que recargan increíblemente lento, torres que funcionan mas como señuelos que torretas que actualmente defienden un objetivo. Y eso que lo jugué en fácil.
Por gustos propios, no me gustó para nada. Eso no quiere decir que el juego sea malo, pero sin duda es para personas que le gusta el sadomasoquismo.

虽然是好评，但是不代表这游戏有多好。这游戏说是RTS，但在体验上还算是一个塔防，建筑的位置都是固定好的，没有一点自由性，而且每个士兵的移动都很笨重，没有边走边打，只会像KR里那样走停再打。而且核心资源是以游戏中精炼厂的个数来计算上限的，比如一个精炼厂，”钱“的上限就是50，想要多了上限，就只能在特定的地点建精炼厂，另外单位也有上限，而在一些关卡，敌人的数量是没有上限的，而且这里边不少”弹药“是锁头的，用英雄或一些快速单位探图也不太容易，很容易探完，先掉半血。综上所述，我觉得这个游戏没有RTS的很多元素，没有RTS的很多自由性，很受限制，但又不算是单兵作战的游戏，所以对我来说体验不算好，我只看在KR的面子上打个好评。

When I think of tower defense, I immediately think of the popular strategy game Kingdom Rush. The principle is simple. Build defense towers, gradually improve them and eliminate enemy lines. Behind this already legendary game is the Ironhide game studio, which I have grown to love immensely over the past few years. In their games, there are very often characters, races and places that unobtrusively resemble characters from other fantasy universes, only with slightly changed names (so as not to violate the copyright).

In the case of Iron Marines, the world of swords and arrows has been traded for the latest robotic weapons and space marines, and we're once again getting to the point where the characters and design remind me of Starship Troopers.
As an avid lover of fantasy and sci-fi films, series, games and universes, the game came to me as a pleasant addition to the collection of games that I like to play and I recommend it to like-minded players as well. [b] 25% [/b]

Итак: в минувшие выходные прошёл игру Iron Marines на немыслимой сложности: выполнил все достижения, прошёл все спецоперации на всех трёх планетах и шесть уникальных заданий.
И теперь могу с полным правом написать рецензию. Если коротко: ЭТО ШЕДЕВР!
Если подробнее: графика потрясающая - она и не мультяшная, и не реалистичная, что очень хорошо для такой игры.
Каждый уровень уникален, и его невозможно пройти так, как предыдущий - необходимо новая тактика.
Войска подобраны так, что не повторяют и не копируют друг друга, и это позволяет создавать различные отряды.
Прокачка многообразная и весьма полезная, к концу игры все улучшения были активированы, что и помогло прохождению на немыслимой сложности.
Теперь про эту максимальную немыслимую сложность: да, тут от вас потребуется не просто пройти на easy! Нет! Вам придётся изучить каждый уровень, тайминг появления врагов или новых волн атак, выучить географию местности и запастить дополнительными инструментами, как "Авиаудар", призыв команды взрывотехников или шоковая заморозка. Особенно в сражении с финальным боссом - я проходил его три дня, и прошёл на последней секунде жизни уникального героя.
Про комментаторов, которые вечно ноют и жалуются, но ставят игру низкие оценки.
Вы, игроки, чего хотели? Чтобы автоматически пройти игру? Чтобы не напрягаясь и со скучающим лицом и зевая получить все достижения? О, нет! Такого не будет! И в этом вся прелесть этой игры - в её сложности!
Совет вам, комментаторы, если вашего таланта и мастерства не хватает, чтобы пройти игру на максимальной сложности, то не надо занижать рейтинг игры, выставляя низкие оценки. Запомните, низкие оценки не игры, а ваших игровых способностях!
Итог: игра ТОП! 10 из 10!

So, last weekend I completed Iron Marines on the hardest difficulty: I earned all the achievements, completed all the special operations on all three planets, and six unique missions.
And now I can fully write a review. In short: IT'S A MASTERPIECE!
In more detail: the graphics are stunning – they're neither cartoonish nor realistic, which is very good for a game like this.
Each level is unique, and it's impossible to complete it the same way as the previous one – new tactics are required.
The troops are selected in such a way that they don't repeat or copy each other, allowing you to create diverse squads.
The leveling is varied and very useful; by the end of the game, all the upgrades were activated, which helped me complete it on hardest difficulty.
Now about that hardest difficulty: yes, you'll need to do more than just beat it on easy! No! You'll have to study each level, the timing of enemy spawns and new attack waves, learn the terrain, and stock up on additional tools like Airstrike, summoning a demolition team, or Shock Freeze. Especially in the final boss fight—I spent three days playing it and beat it with the last second of the unique hero's life.

Regarding the commentators who constantly whine and complain, but still give the game low ratings.
What did you players expect? To automatically complete the game? To earn all the achievements without straining, with a bored face and a yawn? Oh, no! That won't happen! And that's the whole beauty of this game—its difficulty!
A word of advice to you, commentators: if your talent and skill aren't enough to complete the game on the hardest difficulty, don't lower the game's rating by giving low ratings. Remember, low ratings aren't about the game, but about your gaming skills!

Result: TOP game! 10 out of 10!

Ironhide's take on an RTS, and it doesn't really work. All the visual charm and genre parody in the world can't save an RTS with no depth. You would think there would be more overlap from the TDF strategy of Kingdom Rush.

Games like this appeal with satisfying micro or macro gameplay, but Iron Marines cuts the macro only to never flesh out the micro. When it's tricky to even select your units then something has gone seriously wrong.

Worth it on a deep discount due to all the charm an Ironhide game brings, but it's a really disappointing show from such seasoned strategy developers.

I love all Ironhide games, except this. It has too many bad game design decisions.

The first of it, is the grind system, the second of it, is the unnatural and un-explained difficulty system, the third of it, is the another level of grinding which is hero grinding level up mechanics, and, worst: The "You only get rewards" if you either win, or lose AND don't fortfeit a match (making the easiest way to "farm" for upgrades *evidentily losing* games in order to get... a miserable, amount of "Tech Points" (or whatever the way they call it.

First, there is lot's of upgrades. Nice, don't blame the game for that.

But there is just TOO MUCH upgrades to buy with. The first tier of upgrades already cost about the same price as the last tier upgrades, 300-600 while the last tier upgrades are already overbuffed around 600 EACH on the first level.

How much you get per run? 30, (on a quick game defeat map, or something) 40 (on a moderate/slow defeat map, or something) and 300-400 TECH POINTS per run IF you win a level on veteran difficulty (dunno if doing it on lower difficulties give "more" or less tech points / which are used to upgrade)

Then there is some sort of gold currency, which is used to buy cheats. That's it, cheats. As new recent released games of Ironhide have.

I only find them usefull at Survival game modes, where cheats do not only come in handy, but they are excessive-ly handily usefull in order to win a game, or keep playing for longer, and using them for some sort of real fun whiteout feeling like cheating.

Then, there is the fact that you don't know how much strenght your enemies have, OR you even have, in each level...

So you can be just battling with over-powered enemies, and completely under-leveled, and there is not even a single description of enemies and the "level" of upgrade you should face them to know the difficulty they stand.

And to summarize, there is tons of bad game decisions on this game. You can't progress after some point in which and that you can't get upgrades, unless you grind. Unless you farm.

I'm currentily not stuck on a level, but, I feel like i've just reached the final level (or something) of the first planet (there are only three) and i'm wondering:

"Which upgrades should I pick now?"

"Do I even need to have more upgrades?"

And i'm stuck with this decision: Should I become stronger to face the boss level or something?

The game doesn't tell which upgrades you're expected to have in order to win a level, or to the enemies you face.

The balance is off, it's either a "be too strong or powerfull to beat a level" or "be too weak and underwhelming" to face a level, and, in the advent of being stronger, you need to grind endless amounts in non-fun ways only to get more strenght and power with your hero andu uprades.

Just so you can understand: There is a level, a "bonus" level (always called "Harder" levels by then) that the only way to win it is by bringing your hero either to max level or with serious offensive capabilities, or else.

Because you have ot defend three waves of multiple incoming enemies in multiple points (so it's not even three waves, it's six or nine, or whatevs) and then you face them with a hero. And the only way to win the level is by leveling up your hero or by bringing something godly op in level.

For me, that is not how you make a RTS. Nor not even how you make a game.

Pure grind. I quit.

LEER CONCLUSION SI QUERES EL RESUMEN:

El juego es bueno pero TIENE MAS COSAS MALAS QUE BUENAS, ya en dificultad normal es tedioso por la cantidad de enemigos que spawnean (que son infinitos) ya atacando casi 30 seg entre uno y otro. Como RTS le falta muchisimas teclas importantes o binds que ayudan a la experiencia, porque poder manejar solo al heroe con espacio y TODAS las demas unidades con el mouse es horrible. Los heroes tienen un par de cositas buenas pero los que son malos, REALMENTE son malos hasta maxeados.

El sistema de monedas es medio injusto porque en las dificultades mas altas dependes exclusivamente de tener los consumibles. Y LO MAS IMPORTANTE: NO HAY libro de estadisticas de ALIADOS, ENEMIGOS NI HEROES, esto es lo peor lejos, porque ya de por sí las mejoras permanentes estan explicados de forma medio burda, no es muy especifica, pero si el libro existiese seria mas facil de saber si REALMENTE lo necesitan o puedo evitar algunas mejoras para invertirlas en otras.

Si estas dispuesto a farmear niveles para poder tener una chance en los niveles mas altos (a partir de la mitad del segundo planeta se complica enserio) lo recomiendo, SINO NO.

Cool strategy game with many unique levels and challenges. There are some special powers, but you absolutely can beat the game without them. The music and atmosphere is great, and tech tree is well thought out. Achievements give some rewards, including tech points, incentivising to play well and do a bit of extra, but they aren't required either, even on Veteran difficulty. Controls are not ideal, e.g. sometimes units don't follow the command to attack someone, and there's no attack move, but overall still pretty decent. I'd recommend playing this game.

Got this at 65% discount, doesn't feel like a strategy game since it's either a few options that can win or it all collapses. Upgrades are absolutely nescessary to progress, which means you have to farm early levels to get the ressource needed for these nescessities. (not fun at all but accessible).

The good: Easy to learn and use, few mobs and troops types, troops can be morphed into other variation of their "class?" without any cost, which is a good idea. Many "easter egg" achievements and representations. Basic troops respawn when their group's number decreased, which saves on "money".

The bad: shortcuts seems pointless, everything with the mouse feels better, clicking near your hero a few times trigger an annoying response for the single purpose of an achievement (short distance reposition/progress), Snipers are way too squishy, basic troops (ranger, sniper, engineer) seem too weak for the amount of enemies and their health. Many upgrades are absolutely nescessary to progress (dmg, armor, grenades, crits, extraction rate, etc.) which increases greatly over the unupgraded version.

Edit: only played on Vet difficulty, then switched to normal for my last run, but still gave up because I grew bored.

This game is so silly.
The premises were good, but then they come up with foolish ideas that make the game objectively frustrating: first of all that stupid, obsolete, un-needed idea to make enemies spawn indefinitely from the borders of the map, an idea that was stupid already when they introduced it the first time during the '80ies.
These enemies perhaps won't overwhelm you, but they won't let you have any control over the map, because as you expand they keep appearing out of nowhere and try to land attacks to destroy your secondary or primary bases.

Each base has an amount of energy that recharges over time, and this energy is required to get power ups, but problem is, such energy seldom is enough to reinforce your base, because as said enemies keep attacking, small robots will repair the damage and reduce the total amount of energy, as a result you are forced to turtle your way through and repel all these gratuitous enemy attacks until your base grows strong enough.

Now, I'm at a mission that is timed, and at the end of it a giant boss with tons of HP spawns, so your job would be to kill this guy while making sure your units don't die, defend the bases, and have enough energy to make new units in case your army is defeated.

This is not challenging, it's just frustrating.

If you really want to copy Starcraft, make sure you really learned from your teachers.

As much as this game wants to be an RTS, it is not. Much of the base building part of the game is about being able to hold a static position while you wait for your economy to generate. It is much closer to a hybrid tower defence game than a true RTS. There is very little info on what anything actually does, especially heroes, so you need to spend time field testing everything.

Impossible difficulty is a slog without powers or the correct heroes. The final boss is also terrible compared to the first two bosses, as the final boss is actually a bullet hell. MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD

The first boss has strategic depth in the way you approach him. you can choose to chip it down using every base with cheap units, lose them, then rebuild fast every base. you can also choose to snipe it down from range and save your units. you can also choose to abandon your first two bases, collect your two bonus squads, and use all brawlers in the final base.

The second boss is a bit harder to justify, but at the very least you get to build a base. its saving grace is that its possible to beat it without channelers.

The third boss? you better have a high dps hero like trabuco or blue dragon. Trying to beat the final boss without a hero that can solo the hands is nearly impossible without powers.

TLDR if the game wasn't advertised as an RTS, its not a bad mobile game.

Can't recommend. The game has some great ideas, but is horribly balanced. On higher difficulties it's just about having a lot of power-ups (so need for prior grinding), and all upgrades. Some heroes are utter trash compared to others. And many parts of this game are not fun, just tedious. Designed to make the gameplay forcibly longer. Not fun, not recommended.

A good game to pass the time. I especially liked the sword units which deals heavy damage to heavy armored ones. There are some bugs, and small glitches from time to time, but I don't bother on it too much. Overall a good game to hone your strategy, a bit more difficult when compared to other ironhide games I have played already (ex. Kingdom rush series).

I also liked the colorful art style and light humor. Its main limitation is that it clearly favors a simpler structure, so players expecting a deeper and more demanding RTS may notice missing genre staples.

Swapping units, using hero abilities, and reacting to each map gave me enough variety to stay engaged. Ironhide Game Studio新开创的塔防战略游戏很有挑战性，从经典的王国保卫战塔防模式变成带兵打仗的反击战。休闲模式和骨灰模式是两个不同的游戏体验，休闲模式随便玩，骨灰模式要把控兵线和塔位不被攻破，去进攻敌方拿下乙金矿，在后期敌方燃亚人的设计实在是太恶心了，传送门恶心到高血压。我已经完美成就通关，特来留个影。
Ironhide Game Studio's newly created tower defense strategy game is very challenging, transforming from the classic kingdom defense tower defense mode to a counterattack battle with troops. Leisure mode and Ashes mode are two different gaming experiences. Leisure mode allows players to play freely, while Ashes mode requires players to control their troops and tower positions without being breached, and to attack the enemy to take down the Yi Gold Mine. In the later stages, the design of the enemy's Ranya people is really disgusting, and the portal is so disgusting that it makes people feel high blood pressure. I have completed the level perfectly, so I'm here to take a picture.

Ironhide'ın en zayıf halkası bu muhtemelen gerçi yeni gelenlere cebimiz yetişmedi daha :D

IronHide, the developer studio behind Kingdom Rush, ditch the fantasy for sci-fi and still manage to craft visuals that punch with personality. It has s got that unmistakable flair - clean, eccentric, and proud of it. You see it, you know who made it. That is rare nowadays, people..

What pulled me in was the Starcraft-esque core. Not a clone - more like a bite-sized tribute with enough tactical nuance to stir the old strategy brain. If you grew up micro-managing zerg rushes, this one hums in familiar frequencies, to be honest. And yes; I am an ex-Starcraft enjoyer and hypothetically even a fan to this day.

Still, let’s not pretend it’s flawless. Some heroes feel more like decoration than actual tools, and once you find your rhythm, it’s over. A few more layers and it could’ve been a much better, as some heroes lack the utility and special use.

The controls and overall gameplay did not feel really smooth like it did in Starcraft series for example, but that does not inherently mean that this game is bad.

But hey - short doesn’t mean shallow. It entertained me. It tried something appealing.

7/10 – A bold, clever spark with just a bit too short a fuse. Controls are a bit off, but still a very decent strategy game suitable for both ADULTS and CHILDREN.

整体来说还是个有趣的游戏，我是拿ipad玩的，用触屏玩游戏体验感觉还算不错。但是一拿电脑就会不自觉和其他即时战略游戏比较，才感觉非常别扭。这个游戏类型要求的整个操作系统的合理性，还有单位行为逻辑，这个要求是很高的，不是说你把kr的兵营的范围取消了就成即时战略了。你既然已经很大程度上不按传统即时战略的逻辑来了（比如人口上限非常少，资源上限也不高并且经常容易达到），那为什么不在其他地方也修改为较为快节奏，或者适应这种低复杂度的玩法呢？每次就那么三四个兵，走的还贼慢，资源很快就到顶了。你看一般即时战略很复杂，他玩起来需要平衡很多种东西，你比如你玩魔兽争霸，基本上你都是在带着英雄练级，然后双方在这个时候偷袭、骚扰、博弈，矿的占领，兵种克制，资源运营配置，练级的进度等等，这是博弈的点。咱做的是小游戏，操作不会这么复杂，并且也不是pvp游戏，所以你应该有自己的闭合的逻辑，有自己要平衡的点啊。你不能说拿塔防改改，在定义上变成即时战略，但是失去即时战略的主要的乐趣，那就没啥意思了。这游戏玩起来感觉就是按要求办事，哪块来个兵打你，你就分个人去防，走的还慢，没防住就完蛋。这不大行。你与其在kr系列大搞创新（kr已经是很成熟的游戏了，从第二部就很成熟了，不需要创这么大了）不如在这个系列大胆一点，探索出自己的模式。续作只是量大了，实际上没啥区别，并且也很无聊，还不如初作，这个游戏是从根本上作为一个游戏就有问题的，他没有什么要玩的点，玩家只是按流程办事，并且还要忍受没什么原因的失败，所以你如果要做好是需要从根本上重新设计游戏模式的。这个游戏整体来说体验还算可以，但也只是因为画面、音乐的精美而能玩，完全不是因为游戏本身有什么可玩性，这个探索是很好的，但是确实是需要大改的，并没有形成可玩的模式，加油。

大哥您不会做RTS就做张壁纸吧，连单位都选不中，画得倒是挺好看的，或者在kingdom rush和其他塔防上用点心也行。别tm每一个游戏平衡做的都跟屁眼拉的一样，后面版本每一个设计臭气都一个味，越来越烂。
