Игра в основном про решение головоломок, экшен моментов минимум, полноценные сражения с врагами можно пересчитать по пальцам.
Главная фишка игры - каст заклинаний голосом, если её убрать впечатление от игры довольно слабое.

Если оценивать игру как головоломку: первая глава сделана хорошо, загадки интересные, иммерсивные, а главное логичные и последовательные. К середине игры в рум-пазлах надо совершать слишком много последовательных действий, решения неочевидны, вместо подключения логики приходится гадать что задумал автор. На это тратится много времени, а после решения в следующей комнате нас сразу ждёт очередной рум-пазл - от этого устаёшь.

Из положительных моментов: интересный дизайн локаций, необычная механика каста заклинаний голосом через микрофон, несколько неплохих боссов, но и тут не без минусов. Распознавание голоса часто работает некорректно, нет индикации какое заклинание применится и применится ли оно вообще, бои не слишком захватывающие.

The game needs to be polished a bit more, and the in game hints aren't very helpful. It's a very cryptic puzzle game that I almost feel you can't properly play without a guide else it's a lot of guess work. The First spell "Lumeh Tial" sometimes doesn't want to work and I'm not sure why. I can't tell if I'm saying the spell right or if it's just not recognizing the spell. Or maybe there are areas spells don't work? I'm not really sure. Oh and actually using the spells needs a bit more definition, such as "Hold Trigger say spell and release trigger" (Playing on controller)

There's also the lack of direction in regards to spell usage. I got the 4th spell Telekinesis, and it took me a bit to figure out how to use the "move away" "move closer" commands. I knew they were there but it's the first spell that requires a second set of commands. And using the left trigger to cancel the most recent command.

I probably won't finish the game since I find it a bit daunting to play. I would love to see this game remastered as I love the concept. I think this game has potential if they polish it up a bit more. I'd probably check out apolished version, and I'd love to see this as a VR game playable on SteamOS.

创意很好，可惜成品一般
最大的问题就是解谜引导极其欠缺，然后就是作为依赖语音识别的游戏，语音识别的灵敏度和准确度比较低。。。叙事方面也比较草率混乱
冲玩法上新鲜感可以一试，美术和关卡设计都还在线，但是久了就玩不下去了，第二章的迷宫太磨人心态，第三章更是开局解谜就没头绪。。

Voice Recognition is spotty at times (Usually recognizes your voice, but there are times where I'll be reading out a spell and it casts something completely different. Kinda wish there were mechanics to customize your spellcasting a bit if you figure out what some spell vocab is ahead of schedule, but I can't really fault it for what isn't there. What I've played has (mostly) been fun, when the puzzles don't piss me off due to jank (Skill issue on my end). The recognition area is a bit finicky for the targeting/fps/reaction requiring elements, but I might just be better suited to controller than keyboard.

Игра оказалась крайне интересной и сложной. Мой вердикт 10/10

Сюжет, мы залазим в подземелье и... там есть божество, которое нас одаривает способностью к магии, которую мы должны использовать своим голосом при помощи микрофона, предварительно пройдя тест в меню. Дальше мы путешествуем по разного рода помещениям, решаем головоломки и честно сказать, т.к. нет маркеров, нужно потратить не мало времени, чтобы запомнить где что находится и куда что можно переместить.

Бомбит от не правильного заклинания, неудачи при решении головоломок, худшая шахматная доска из всех мною встреченных в играх. Удовольствие даже от этого. Играйте и не пожалеете.

TL;DR: Bonito, belíssima premissa, um tanto interessante, mas mal desenvolvida, levando a uma experiência maçante e desnecessariamente longa. Mal otimizada, também. Não vale o preço completo.

Olha, é difícil analisar esse jogo. Até porque eu tentei MUITO gostar dele; Dei várias chances a ele, me forçando a ir até o final na última tentativa (o que meio que estraga o propósito de um jogo). Eu tentei mesmo gostar desse jogo, e por isso é triste ter que avaliá-lo negativamente.

A premissa de In Verbis Virtus é incrivelmente inovadora: Buscando reviver sua parceira falecida, o jogador deve seguir seu caminho entre puzzles e batalhas usando feitiços ativados por microfone; combinações de palavras faladas em Maha'ki, um idioma hipotético que pode até mesmo ser traduzido [spoiler] - por exemplo, Namet significa "eu", Aghni significa "fogo", Ekto significa "projetar" [/spoiler] . Os cenários são um tanto bonitos, e os documentos escondidos pelo mapa revelam um mundo intricado e bem construído - levando em conta o quão curto o jogo é. Uma experiência que tem tudo pra chamar muita atenção...

... Se não fosse por diversos probleminhas que, juntos, apagam todo o brilho do jogo.

O primeiro, com certeza, é o problema de falsa dificuldade. Os desenvolvedores levaram a ideia de "pensar fora da caixa" longe demais, e implementaram diversos puzzles cuja solução é meio contraintuitiva. Por exemplo (SPOILERS): [spoiler] No início do jogo, o jogador aprende o feitiço Ekto Lumeh ("projetar luz")], que cria um raio de luz concentrada, capaz de derrotar e atordoar inimigos; num puzzle posterior, o jogador precisa deter seu Ekto Lumeh, mas não há objetos suficientes para fazê-lo - restando ao jogador usar o próprio corpo, o que, surpreendentemente, é a solução correta e, pasmem, não machuca o jogador. Num outro puzzle, o jogador deve suspender um objeto pequeno no ar e parar a rotação de uma plataforma gigantesca - rotação essa provocada pelo próprio jogador. [/spoiler] Em suma, muitas vezes o jogador precisa ir na contramão do próprio jogo para resolvê-lo; um processo de dificuldade artificial que faz um simples puzzle demorar vários minutos ou horas. Objetos necessários para resolver os puzzles se escondem em cantos obscuros e mal sinalizados; praticamente todos os inimigos exigem métodos demorados para serem derrotados, se tornando mais obstáculos do que ameaças; sendo o [spoiler] Shar-Seth [/spoiler], um inimigo relativamente comum, a ameaça do jogo que mais exige a atenção do jogador, sendo mais interessante que mesmo qualquer um dos chefes.

A otimização do jogo também é sofrível; Há brilho demais, e certos [spoiler] (vários) [/spoiler] lugares do jogo provocam quedas de FPS bruscas, mesmo em computadores mais potentes. A coisa toda me parece feita de assets, o que prejudica (bastante) o desempenho. Inclusive, o jogo carece de identidade visual, tendo diversos temas visuais diferentes unidos num único título [spoilers] partindo do Indiana Jones ao Sci-Fi, chegando a um ponto em que você se pergunta se está mesmo num templo antigo ou se entrou num cenário de Tron [/spoilers] .

Falando sobre o carro-chefe do jogo, o sistema de feitiços por comando de voz funciona através de um sistema push-to-talk - Ao clique do mouse, o personagem estende a mão à frente, e então o jogador pode recitar o feitiço intendido. Essa mecânica funciona muito bem em princípio, se adaptando bem a sotaques e formas de falar diferentes (é possível até mesmo conjurar "às pressas", sem muita atenção à dicção) mas, conforme o jogo avança, mais e mais falhas surgem. À medida que o leque de feitiços aumenta, aumenta também a probabilidade de o jogo confundir feitiços ou até mesmo não lançar feitiço algum. Houve momentos em que foi necessário recitar o mesmo feitiço 5 vezes para obter o resultado esperado - as outras quatro tentativas resultando em feitiços totalmente aleatórios. Num momento em que a sobrevivência dependa do feitiço certo, isso significa a derrota, e, consequentemente, alguns minutos perdidos - o jogo utiliza um sistema de checkpoints, sendo necessários alguns minutos para se locomover entre áreas; um processo frustrante e sem quaisquer benefícios. Portanto, recomenda-se que o microfone fique bem próximo ao rosto.

Os feitiços começam bem, mas se tornam mais decepcionantes à medida que o jogo avança. Todos os feitiços parecem bem rasos e iniciantes, e carecem de efeitos visuais. [spoiler] A tão esperada bola de fogo é uma runa que precisa de 10 segundos de carga para causar algum dano significativo; O feitiço de gelo é um raio extremamente semelhante ao Ekto Lumeh, e não congela líquidos nem cria gelo sólido, servindo apenas para congelar determinados objetos temporariamente. [/spoiler] Para quem espera feitiços alucinantes e todo o glamour associado com o clichê do mago, pode esquecer. Aqui eles são apenas ferramentas para resolver os puzzles, que são o verdadeiro coração do game. Aliás, apesar de entender a lógica, eu não me dei ao trabalho de decorar nem mesmo metade dos feitiços, parte porque não funcionavam corretamente, parte pela falta de feedback; tendo que recorrer ao Diário (um guia que o personagem escreve) em diversas situações.

O Diário, inclusive, é outro ponto-chave do jogo; aí é contada a história do mundo, bem como algumas instruções e lembretes cruciais. É muito bem implementado; Na parte dos Feitiços, porém, torna-se desnecessariamente poético, sendo relevante à jogatina apenas a frase contendo o nome do feitiço, o que desencoraja a leitura. Há muitas notas adicionais espalhadas pelo jogo, inclusive em lugares às vezes muito escondidos; entretanto, estas são totalmente opcionais, não interferindo no curso do jogo [spoiler] exceto, talvez, na escolha final [/spoiler].

Claro, não vou dizer que não me diverti. Houve alguns momentos em que realmente me senti um mago (por exemplo, [spoiler] as lutas com os Shar-Seths, ou a primeira luta com um Saevar [/spoiler] ) e alguns puzzles foram realmente divertidos; e, claro, a premissa de um sistema de feitiços por comando de voz é realmente promissora. Há diversas melhorias que poderiam ser feitas no game [spoiler] (como feitiços adicionais e mais feedback gráfico e sonoro, além da otimização super necessária) [/spoiler] , mas, infelizmente, este parece um produto já finalizado. Não houveram muitas alterações senão localizações e pequenas bugfixes, sendo o jogo praticamente a mesma coisa desde 2015. Algo louvável, mas, no caso deste jogo, uma pena.

Eu diria que In Verbis Virtus é muito interessante para se checar, mas difícil de prender; e, embora eu goste muito de muitos aspectos do game, os vários defeitos apresentados por ele resultam num produto maçante e mal acabado. Talvez algum dia, alguém pegue o sistema iniciado neste título e monte um jogo digno de um TGA; infelizmente, esse dia não era 2015, e, surpreendentemente, ainda não é hoje.

Die Zaubersprüche per Mikrofon an das Spiel zu schicken, macht einen Riesenspaß. (Auch wenn ich gerade verzeifel, weil manche Zaubersprüche einfach nicht verstanden werden !!!) Mit heutiger KI, die alles aushorcht und alles überwacht, wäre das kein Problem, aber die alte Unrealengine 3 macht noch zuviele Fehler.
Verbunden mit den gesprochenen Spells werde ich mich wie ein Zauberer in Herr der Ringe fühlen. YEAH ! "Ich bin Gandalf, der Weiße !!!"

Ich spiele das Spiel zur Zeit auf einem 3D-Monitor, also in echtem 3D, und weil es die alte Unrealengine nutzt, ist der Tiefeneindruck, die Platzierung von Objekten im Raum korrekt und stimmig.
So entsteht eine Tiefe, die man sonst nur in Real3D-Kinos findet.
Demnächst werde ich versuchen, das Spiel in Stereo3D in meiner VR-Brille laufen zulassen.
(FAIL ! Steam verhindert eine Projektion an die Brille der Stereo3D-Darstellung mithilfe von VIRTUAL DESKTOP. Ich bekomme eine Fehler 309: Eine Steamkomponente funktioniert nicht)

Die Welt ist dem Fantasysetting entsprechend mystisch oppulent gestaltet, aber man sieht dem Spiel schon sein Alter an. Release: 2015.
Die Rätsel sind bisjetzt noch nicht allzu schwer, aber ich bin ja auch noch im Tutorial.
Das Spiel ist mit deutschem Text ausgestattet, und erzählt in die mystische Geschichte von Licht und Dunkelheit niedergeschrieben in Art Tagebuch.
Naja, irgendeine Story muss wohl sein. Dazu passend sind die Zaubersprüche, wie Licht AN oder auch einer Art Laserbeam, mit dem man Schalter aktivieren kann.
Da ich noch am Anfang bin, kenne ich zur Zeit nur 2 Sprüche, aber selbst die bringe ich schon durcheinander :P , wird spannend, wenn ich alle auswendig beschwören muss, 10 oder 12.

Für mich ein wirklich gutes Game, da ich gern Rätsel löse und auch viel für Fantasy übrig habe.
Habe noch schnell den Soundtrack gekauft. Diese Art von innovativem Gameplay von einem Indie-Studio gehört unterstützt, auch wenn wahrscheinlich kein Spiel nach all den Jahren noch erscheinen wird.
Der Soundtrack ansich ist orchestral und damit sehr gut anhörbar.

Eine Perle, die mir unbekannt war, aber zuentdecken ein willkommenes Vergnügen ist.

说实话游戏玩法非常新颖，通过玩家语音输入控制魔咒产生，圆了当时的一个魔法梦。
但是你一个15年的游戏仍然在发行时有一堆严重妨碍游戏性的bug，部分地方缺失中文或是翻译成了很奇怪的中文，并且怪物设计的让我难以继续推进。

但说归说，游戏玩法还是很新颖的，可以个位数价格的时候买一个体验一下。

Ci credo che Favij all'epoca in quel punto non ha più continuato il gioco, oltre a farmi venire mal di testa per i 3 indovinelli sulle luci con la luce sballata comparata al resto del gioco ma poi arriviamo allo ""scontro"" contro la prima entità, che devo intrattenere il nemico dentro una gabbia e aspettare che si chiuda dove non viene spiegato ma ci devo arrivare per intuito e test e nel mentre spammare "obee keanuh" per farlo fluttuare e sbattere per non saltarmi addosso, peccato che sti comandi vocali facciano cagare e 7/10 "obee keanuh" me lo interpreta come "lume thial" senza alcuna assonanza tra le due formule, e la cosa che mi fa più innervosire e che se muoio devo rifarmi tutto il percorso da capo con quella palla di fuoco e i muri che devo far scendere con "tial udah" sempre se non mi attiva "ecto lumen" per sbaglio, anche qui 0 assonanza. Avevo alte aspettative ma più che stupore per il bel level design, luci, colori, lore e mistero mi devo fare il sangue marcio, non lo giocherò più finchè non rilasciate qualche nuova patch o un aggiornamento che rende più agibile e che aiutino a comprendere bene i comandi del microfono.

The good, the concept of using your own voice to cast spells is amazing. This game actually does a decent job with the spells and voice mechanics. Some of the rooms are beautifully designed and had lots of work put into them creating a mystical atmosphere. The bits of story and lore from journal entries and inscriptions left me wanting to uncover the secrets of the ruins I was trapped in. These positives however were not enough.

The bad, it has huge performance issues and the recommend GPU is in no way accurate. The movement felt very clunky for a game all about puzzles and platforming. Every time the project light spell would make contact with a bug swarm "enemy/obstacle?" my frame rate would tank and sputter as I lost health as bugs ran into me. I pressed on and learned to work around the lack of polish because the spells are cool and the puzzles were fun. I gave up after loading into the 2nd level and noticing another huge performance drop. I turned down some video settings hoping to improve performance and re-launched the game. When my save loaded I had a giant green eye taking up 90% of my screen, it never disappeared even after reloading and relaunching. I searched online and found two other reports on the steam community from 2015, both with developer responses saying they were aware of the bug and fixing the issue; It's 2024...

Great idea, cool story, lack of polish, performance issues and unfixed bugs make the game unplayable :(

难点2：第二章铁球谜题其一的隐藏水槽机关。
难点3：第三章的（红→黄）激光谜题，无极调整与蹩脚的操作。该高难（操作）谜题和藏在其后的初见杀.

The core premise is interesting, and when it works it works well. But there are multiple cases of the path forward not being intuitive, and even when you work out what to do I experienced multiple instances of the game not working. [spoiler] The first enemy you need to trap in a cage didn't trigger the door it was supposed to open several times, and then the physics objects you needed to move got stuck on terrain/didn't move after the spell was cast [/spoiler] The puzzles start to feel more trial and error instead of figuring out logic, which is frustrating and unfortunately why I didn't feel motivated to finish the game. The voice detection can be questionable at times when you need it to recognize the spell you're saying under a time constraint and I have to question the inclusion of timed mechanics in a game like this.

Tl, dr: The idea looks solid on paper, on practice though... Also words are not as memorable. Props for trying to innovate!

Maybe this would work great for a player character like the Dragonborn where you have monosylabic words, at most three and pronounciation is transparent (i.e. pronouced as written). Think Fus Ro Dah vs Obee Kenhu, three syllables vs four, transparent vs opaque. In verbis virtus doesn't convey appropriately the whole words have power thing when you cast the spells (though it tries with its lore it's not enough).

Maybe an interesting feature would be to hear your player character give feedback when you are casting a spell (maybe it would be confusing). Imagine saying Fus Ro Da while hearing the dragonborn saying it with you, thus knowing the game understood you instead of having to finish casting the spell, know it didn't work and have to try again. This would also fit more with the whole words have power kind of thing. But again, could be confusing. But a mute character, with barely any dialogue and nobody in the whole game gets kind of boring.

Also I can see why puzzles are the main thing instead of spellslinging as most would want (battles can be impractical). But if you are into puzzles maybe it suits you.

I would give it a 5/10 cuz it may appeal to some audiences, I just wouldn't have bought it knowing what I know now. But I really appreciate that they tried something new, that's always good even when it's doesn't come out entirely right.

A very unique gameplay experience. Some puzzles are harder and less obvious than others. Quite beautiful visuals. I got 100% achievements for the game, encountered maybe only 2 minor bugs. Did have to look up the solutions to some puzzles as they tend to get tricky towards the end. The fighting is finicky at best, but the game doesn't really focus on that aspect. All in all i feel pretty confident saying that this is one of my all time favorite games, solely carried by the unique mechanics. Game lengths was around 10-12 hours going in blind, i finished it in around 5-6 hours when i was achievement hunting on my second run.

很多有趣的想法和设计，都毁在了这奇怪的判定上
其二是逆天的存档点设计
有的地方能十几步远连着两三个存档点
有的地方又能在两处长解密/跑酷之后才放一个存档点，而跑酷路上还有即死的机关。
死了，那抱歉，前面的解密也再玩一遍。
虽然说只列举了缺点，但我觉得作为劝退我的点（虽然我还是打完了，毕竟还花了钱的）列举出来给别人排雷就好了，想看有点的话就去参考其他人的测评吧。

While it's a bit dated now, In Verbis Virtus is generally a good and interesting first-person platformer-puzzler, with the much-marketed element of it using your actual voice (microphone required) to cast spells in-game. This is from an era before speech recognition was nearly as polished as today, and yet it still does a solid job picking out the spells from what you say--no mean feat, given its time.

Part of the challenge of the game is remembering which abracadabra-mumbo-jumbo-speak you will need to use in quick sequence, as many puzzles require careful positioning and timing that will not forgive the wrong spell (including no spell at all) being cast at the right moment. There is an organic learning process that occurs through reuse and familiarity, but I still goofed it up from time to time; nonetheless, I appreciated the unique challenge that posed, as it made me work my brain in ways games normally do not.

There is a small amount of combat, after a sort, but most of your spells are entirely physics-based rather than capable of direct offensive actions; in some situations where you face foes, the solution is not at all to defeat them head-on, but instead to trap them or otherwise neutralize them until you can do what you meant to do in the area they are threatening. You have no weapons per se--just your spells and the mechanics of the objects in the environment, such as they are in any given puzzle.

It was (when I played it) somewhat buggy, and some mechanics could be cheesed if you were clever (though open-ended puzzles often have that vulnerability). I haven't done much with it since that time years ago, but I should hope it remains accessible; barring that being not the case, I definitely recommend it to those who can appreciate the genre--not quite as silly and witty as the Portal games (it's really actually a fairly serious and mystical number), nor as space-age, but somewhat similar in its feel otherwise.

Como todos los juegos que voto negativo no voy a extenderme demasiado, la premisa de In Verbis Virtus es interesante, lanzar hechizos recitándolos al micrófono, suena entretenido, pero para un juego corto, creo que uno de los principales problemas de este juego es su duración y las vueltas que hace dar, la cantidad de puzzles a los que se llega y no se pueden resolver (estilo metroidvania) pero sin un mapa que consultar para saber como volver a ese lugar o marcarlo.

La detección de los hechizos funciona regular, se deben decir pausadamente, a veces demasiado lento y cuando estas en combate es algo difícil, incluso a veces sale un hechizo que nada tiene que ver con el pronunciado o directamente no sale ningun hechizo.

Terminé 2 capítulos de 3 y veo que el porcentaje de obtención del logro de terminar el capitulo 2 es de solo el 7.4% y lo entiendo, cuando para resolver un puzzle debes hacer 10-15 hechizos llega a ser cansador, aburrido, repito el planteamiento es interesante pero a veces hay mucho que recitar y no es pulsar una tecla solamente como en otros juegos eso combinado a que su historia no solo es mediocre sino que se va contando a migajas aburre con facilidad.

Y si ya entramos en su traducción al español es nefasta, si dominas el ingles es mejor colocarlo en ese idioma debido a que la traducción al español no solo esta mal hecha sino que mezcla con texto en italiano lo cual hace todavia mas difciil de leer.

En fin es un juego que puede ser interesante jugar un rato pero no esperes mucho mas, no lo recomiendo a menos que lo encuentres a un precio muy bajo y te apetezca matar el tiempo un rato.

퍼즐이 조금 많이 어렵지만 유튜브 영상이나 나무위키를 찾아서 하면 꽤 수월하게 해결할수 있어요! 목소리로 주문을 외쳐 퍼즐을 푸는 방식이라 마이크는 필수에요. 저는 할인할때 구매했지만 이정도 퀄리티에 이정도 가격이면 원가로 사도 손해는 아니라고 생각해요! 주문도 너무 괴랄하게만 말하지 않으면 준수하게 인식이 되는 편이구요. 꽤나 신박한 방식의 게임인데 아직까지 마이너라는게 아쉬워요ㅠ.ㅠ

Davvero bello, sinceramente non me lo aspettavo anche difficile, però tra l'ambientazione spettacolare, la meccanica del lanciare le magie con la tua voce (che sforza tanto la memoria) ed una storia molto interessante tutto il resto passa in secondo piano. Se avete problemi con il gioco gli sviluppatori hanno fatto un post su steam che li dovrebbe risolvere tutti quindi per favore giocate questo gioco perché anche gli Italiani sanno fare videogiochi e questo ne è la prova.

Mit seiner eigenen Stimme über das Mikro die Zauber im Spiel kontrollieren, finde ich richtig gut. Ich kann es jedem empfehlen mal auszuprobieren für diese Funktion.

Using your own voice to control the spells in the game via the microphone is really good. I can recommend it to everyone to try out this function.
As cool as this feature is, the rest is empty and inconsequential. It felt like a walking simulator without a story or anything special to see.
I had so much fun with the spellcasting for the first hour, but then it fell into bottomless boredom.

In Verbis Virtus is a Puzzle/Exploration game that sees you working your way through various chambers of an inter-dimensional ruin, seeking out a great power. Armed with a variety of unique spells, all controlled via your IRL Voice, you take on the various challenges the Temple has in store for you. The game does NOT hold your hand at all and it's up to you to find solutions and make your way through!

With few exceptions, the game does it what it sets out to do extremely well, and delivers lots of fun, engaging puzzles in an extremely atmospheric collection of environments, all the while giving you some interesting lore and backstory.

I was able to get the game at a 75% discount during the Winter Sale and bought it for under 5 dollars. I more then got my money's worth, and I think anything even HALF off at 10 dollars is money well spent.

[b][u]Pros:[/u][/b]

The game's signature feature, it's Voice Controlled Spell Casting, is implemented incredibly well. Each Spell is cast via pronouncing the spell's translation in the made-up "Language of the Gods" or using the English translations if you'd prefer that option. The Voice Recognition performs great. I experimented in a bunch of ways, saying spells quickly, slowly, loudly, quietly, high pitched, low pitched, even fooled around with various accents, and through it all, the game knew exactly what spell I was saying and used it seamlessly. A good thing too because there are some tense moments where spells need to be rattled off one after the other fairly quickly, and the game handled it well.

The Puzzles are unique, challenging and really require you to think creatively for solutions. It will test your logic, pattern finding skills, grasp on physics and angles, ability to execute precise timing, and much more. Close examinations of ALL details in any given room are very important. Even things you might not think are apart of the puzzle, many times are. Take your time, and don't rush! You're equipped with a variety of spells that assist you in solving these challenges. A big tip is not just knowing WHAT Spell to use on any given obstacle, but HOW you can use it. There are many challenges that require you to use your spells in a way you wouldn't first associate with them. Don't assume a Spell has only one purpose, closely examine ALL effects any given spell has on its surroundings, cause there are multiple that aren't immediately obvious.

Another cool aspect of this game is one many who have played BOTW will be familiar with, and that's using your Spells creatively in ways the Developers themselves didn't even expect! If you stay sharp and keep your eyes out for certain situations, you can use your skills in ways that will let you solve and outright skip many challenges and obstacles in ways that aren't the intended solution! I myself experienced at least 3 moments where I completely "beat" and/or skipped a puzzle with creative use of the Stasis & Teleportation Spells! THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!

Atmospherics & Art Direction are a solid thumbs up as well for me! Especially in the last two "Chapters" of the game. Areas, rooms & corridors are well designed and invoke a sense of mystery and intrigue.

[b][u]Negatives:[/u][/b]

One of my pet peeves is games who feel the need to add combat to a game that doesn't need it, and unfortunately, In Verbis Virtus falls in that category. The Puzzles are all very smooth, responsive and provide fun gameplay but the Combat sections of the game are definitely a low-light. It doesn't add anything to the game, and just detracts from the otherwise well-refined gameplay. Combat is janky, clunky, awkward & generally unfun to play. Thankfully combat isn't very frequent, but the few instances it is forced upon you, it always feels like a slog. Thankfully the difficulty of Combat is very low, so don't be concerned about that holding your experience back.

O game é repleto de puzzles então já logo recomendo explorar todas as salas que aparecerem.

The concept is very fun, however the voice recognition is absolutely terrible. Often times while trying to heal I would make myself explode despite the command phrases having very little in common. Even looking up walkthroughs, the solutions are so exact that mimicking the walkthroughs was only helpful on rare occasion. Overall, the puzzles are enjoyable when the game works correctly, however the best way to make that happen is to infuse your command phrases with a sufficient amount of rage or fury. I tried very hard to complete this game. I could not.

The game gives me mixed feelings.
The idea behind the game is great and I had fun playing it. I don't regret buying it and I think the price is okay.
However, it was not the most exciting game in the long run. I found it great to have to say the spells myself and solve puzzles in first person and explore a new world. Unfortunately, the puzzles were not always the most exciting. Of course I had to think and there were puzzles I really liked, but it didn't feel like much variety.
But what bothered me the most was the lack of interaction with the player. You could find story here and there, but there are no NPCs or anything like that. I don't devalue the game because of that, but it wasn't quite my cup of tea.
Even though the middle part was rather boring for me, I thought the end was great. [spoiler]I thought the boss fight was great. In general, I probably had the most fun using my spells for a fight. [/spoiler]

Кастовать в микрофон, в принципе, прикольно. Головоломки в первой и второй главе тоже ничего, хотя приходилось пользоваться гайдами из-за "куда нахрен мне идти" фактора.

Боевка - отстой. Враги слишком быстрые и сильные, а атакующие заклинания слабые. Когда врагов больше одного, то хоть вешайся, особенно когда игра не распознает заклинание.

Можно пройти две главы и убить босса, а дальше играть на свой страх и риск, т.к. игра больше бесит, чем увлекает.

Ah yes, In Verbis Virtus. This game blew my mind when I first saw the trailer. The idea of speaking into the game to cast spells was thrilling, I knew I had to try.

This gimmick is quite fun as you would expect. The initial doubts of whether the voice recognition works well or not appears invalid in the first few hours of the game. Then you start learning more spells and one command start firing off a random other spell. It almost never leaves you with an unescapable situation and you can just shrug it off and do the spell with a more clear pronounciation. Remember when in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry says the wrong name and gets teleported to a dangerous place? Yeah, compared to that this is not a big deal at all. Though you will get the occasional salt when you are trying to solve a puzzle and move the same little piece over and over again.

Graphics are really something to talk about. The environment is filled to the brim with beautiful visuals which is sometimes a little overwhelming when you first try to figure out what is around you. I myself found it hard to differentiate where one rock ends and the other rock begins in some instances. But the scenery is stunning especially in certain areas.

Another mistake I've been making was thinking that since this was a niche and (unjustly) unpopular game, there wouldn't a multi-layered story or well-hidden secrets. I was wrong. The story itself is not groundbreaking but very successful in creating the world around the game you are playing and generally interesting. The puzzles are nothing to be taken lightly and you will have to exploit every bit of your acquired knowledge as well as be very explorative and attentive to the environment.

There is however another problem when this aspect is considered. There are bugs in this game. And sometimes you can't understand whether you are not able to find a solution or the game is just bugged at that time. You usually have a sound guess for this question though. To solve this problem, I recommend saving as often as possible which is very easy to do thanks to the developers putting a checkpoint to every single corner. A checkpoint before every puzzle gives you the opportunity to take just a few steps back and start the puzzle again. Worst bugs I had were, on multiple occations, while I was testing the limits of a room, I got stuck outside the collisions of the walls. This sometimes leads to endless falls but rarely you can jump back in.

The music on the other hand does wonders. There are many, many puzzles in this game and a smaller number of tracks. But the tracks never feel repetitive, although you do recognize them from before. The environment of every chamber is boosted with the selection of music and there are some one-time specific tracks as well for more impactful moments. If I must say a negative thing about the music; because of the combination of the mysterious environment and some nerve-inducing tracks, you find yourself preparing for a more immediate danger just up ahead. It took me a while to be convinced that there were no jumpscares in this game. Some tracks are really eerie and builds so much tension when you are walking through dark passages into a new room. Keep in mind that's not to say the tracks themselves are off-putting or out of place. They are not.

The achievements are also fun and the document collection goals increase the replay value. But this is where I must say the expert puzzle-game players may find it medium to easy, though not a piece of cake. For everyone who does not fall into that category, get ready for a challenge. I think even if you don't find it challenging, you will find it unique and interesting.

Overall, I most definitely recommend this game. I think the most fun way to play is taking your plays easy and curious, while keeping in mind that saving in every opportunity will spare you a minor letdown.

This game is a masterpiece and the worst thing is that people doesen't know it, this game DESERVE to be more popular and to be known by more people. It's been a long time since this game came out, and honestly I still play it once in a while because I just can't forget what I felt when I played it for the first time. Ancient structures, arcane gods and religions, unique gameplay and deep atmosphere, I never proved a similiar adventure, I was really into the main character, this game is so immersive, when I casted my first spell with my own voice... that was the most epic thing I ever seen in a videogame.
I'm always hoping for a new In Verbis Virtus, with a new astonishing graphic, more puzzles to solve, a continue to the storyline and more spells.. or also something new, but it has to be almost like this game.
The idea is there, just need to make it real again.. in my opinion more advertising in needed (like on TikTok or something like that) or it will end like this game whose existence is unknown to many people.

Though a little rough around the edges, this game is a hidden gem and well worth a play-through.

I love the art direction and aesthetic. While visually impressive, performance does struggle at times, particularly in the more dense areas of the game. The video settings leave a lot to be desired - primarily the lack of an Field of view setting (can be worked around by using the in game console - F2, then using the 'fov' command, however this does break immersion a lot and has to be redone every time you reload a save). Also, having to restart the game whenever you modify the video settings is annoying. Alt-tabbing out of the game is a little buggy when using full-screen.

The story and lore have is quite good, although most of it is attained through reading journal notes, I would have liked to have heard them read out as I discovered them, would have made the whole experience much more immersive.

The voice recognition is works quite well, providing you have a decent quality microphone.

The puzzles in this game can vary from easy to quite challenging. On my first play-through I found myself getting stuck quite often. Top tip for new players, make sure to read those journal notes! If you see your journal has updated, usually it means there's some important information you need.

Overall I would definitely recommend for those who enjoy puzzle games.
