Who in the world never heard about Pong? I mean, it's so incredibly complex, you know? Two paddles on either side, battling it out to see who can rack up the most mind-blowing score. Such deep, profound gameplay, wouldn't you agree?
But hey, if that basic premise isn't enough to hold your attention for longer than a blink, why not spice things up? Let's throw in a health bar that slowly sucks away your precious life points every time you make contact with the ball. And oh, don't forget the random environmental hazards scattered across the board. Need more? How about some power-ups to keep you on your toes? Of course, we can't stop there. Let's add stats points and experience levels because, well, why the hell not? And just when you thought things couldn't get any more absurd, behold, there's actual dialogue during boss fights. Your goal? Come up with the most charming pick-up lines because, you know, being a paddle doesn't mean you can't score in more ways than one, if you know what I mean

Well, perhaps I can add that obtaining all the achievements in your first playthrough might be a tad tricky. Especially because one wrong dialogue choice during a boss fight can lead you to end the level as a sad, lonely paddle. So, if you're not in the mood to replay nearly five hours of mind-numbing grinding, I highly recommend consulting a guide. Trust me, it'll save you from the heartache

Games honestly great, you should own it.
It's very quirky, it's a fairly addicting gameplay loop (to a limit), you're to a point constantly getting new stuff beyond simply stats/cosmetics, and it's got a charming sense of humor.
It's pong, but you can do magic, grow your stats, move in a 2d dimension beyond up and down, seduce the enemies, etc etc. It's 1.99, well worth that price, and it discounts for much more, a fun night.
An upgrade after beating a level was between crit chance and charisma. I picked crit chance, because I was playing a glass cannon wizard.

Hypergalactic Psychic Table Tennis 3000, como o próprio nome já sugere, é um jogo bastante irônico. Manteve as mecânicas originais do clássico pong, porém acrescentando coisas que já estamos acostumados nos jogos mais atuais, como upgrades de atributos, skills com várias magias, buffs, debuffs, e até skins para o seu "personagem".
A ambientação sonora também é boa. Além da música de fundo também há falas durante o gameplay bastante dramáticas e divertidas.
Eu pessoalmente acho que o jogo demora muito para mostrar o que ele tem a oferecer, tudo começa muito fácil, monótono, super lento, eu quase desisti do jogo. Levou mais de 2 horas até que começasse a ficar minimamente desafiador e interessante. Após esse período também há interações escritas com os oponentes, onde você pode irritá-lo ou agradá-lo, deveria estar disponível desde o começo...
Não tem muito o que reclamar além dos pontos citados acima, jogo nostálgico e bem feito.

3点先取で勝ちとなるルールでひたすらポンを続けて勝ち進んでいくゲーム。一戦ごとにパワーアップが取得でき、自機（パドル）をどんどん強化していくことが可能です。自機（パドル）にも敵（パドル）にも体力があり、ボールを跳ね返すたびに痛そうなうめき声を上げつつダメージを受け、最終的には爆散してしまうなどのバカゲー要素が印象的。魔法を取得するとボールを使わずに敵（パドル）を直接攻撃することもできてしまいます。また、何故か敵（パドル）を口説いて（？）いく恋愛（？）ゲーム要素もあります。
日本語対応していないのがつらいですが、一風変わったバカっぽい雰囲気のポンを遊びたいという方にはおすすめです。

Overall a pretty fun experience but repetitive (basically the same thing for 200 levels as you unlock powers). You will have some laughs but may grow tired after some tens of levels. Still think that the concept is really fun and deserves more attention.

Oh my god is this game addictive. Like this is so easy to get into the game and it's controls, which are a 'little' more than og pong had. There's so much in this game to make this stand out, there's the enemies and bosses and the different powers and the romance element. It's so crazy packed and it's wonderful. Just really fun to play if you like Pong. ;P

So I was suggested this mysterious game from a friend to be surprised that it’s the familiar game of Pong that was released in 1972 in arcades along with other games such as Space Invaders, Asteroids, and Breakout. But it was actually originally released on the Magnavox Odyssey under the alias of “table tennis.” Fun little tidbit going off topic a bit Pong was the first ever video game, but back to HYPERGALACTIC PSYCHIC TABLE TENNIS 3000TM it actually puts quite the spin to the cult classic of Pong, and adds many modern additions to the game such as fire. It also adds aging but is referred to as leveling up. There are also interactive environments such as water which interacts with fire abilities which is quite surprising how much realism there is in such a simple spin on the cult classic Pong. The enemies come in many 4 sided shapes such as a square, rectangle, and a bigger rectangle, which I'm glad they added support for different body types. But not to spoil all the deep lore and in depth/realistic feature of HYPERGALACTIC PSYCHIC TABLE TENNIS 3000TM this game is much like in difficulty as this small indie game you may know called “Lacking of Light Souls” or as others may call it Dark Souls.

Hanno tolto una cosa fondamentale del pong del 1972. Giocare in 2 giocatori. Sembra banale ma non lo è: mi chiedo come hanno potuto pensare un gioco "pong" solo in single player. Non si possono fare sfide online con gli amici, ne LAN e neppure nello stesso PC, insomma è un pong da giocare in solitario. Che tristezza.
O jogo é divertido e tem um preço ótimo. As minhas únicas críticas são que o jogo não aparenta ter um fim e por isso se torna repetitivo. Chega um momento que as únicas dificuldades são os níveis com portais e os bosses muito grandes, pois o jogo aumenta muito pouco de dificuldade conforme você progride. Até chegar nesse momento, o jogo consegue te prender e cumpre seu papel.

A nonsensically funny RPG take on classic Pong: you can level up, earn skills and stats, and romance your opponents (I swear I'm not making this up). Great way to pass the time and have a good laugh if you don't have anything better to do!

上手之后津津有味打了两个多小时，刚好打到一百多层，歇了。

pong that makes me want to get a crt
I like the game design (RPG elements in a classic arcade pong game). However, I cannot recommend the game to anyone at this stage for two reasons:
1. the game crashes randomly, and then you have to quit the nwjs yourself in the task manager. Maybe this is specific to mac OS, but it's a pretty game breaking bug.
2. the screen is too flashy and shaky on certain stages, making it sometimes unplayable. I believe that the colourisation, flashes, and screen shaking are randomly generated. That's fine, but you have to make sure they don't make the gaming experience hell. Also, the skill menu at the bottom can cover the ball pathing (though this is the least of your issues if the colour of the ball fades into the background...)
3. The dev doesn't seem to care. Bug reports are ignored.
I hope the dev would fix the game. It has potential, if polished.
It's my Favorite Steam Game. It's RPG Pong, it's Cheap, it's fun, It kills time. What more could you ask for?
This is just a Pong clone with little more.
I was under the impression that it would be like Pong at start but eventually with all the upgrades/stats/health/mana/abilities etc it would turn into some crazy RPG PvE. But nope, it just doesn't. Fifteen matches later this is still basic Pong with a few minor gimmicks that have little to no impact on the actual gameplay. You just watch the ball slowly go from one end to the other hoping that AI would randomly be dumb enough to miss it. That's the whole game.
Watching paint dry is ought to be more entertaining than this. It's only fun in the trailer.
It's the most interesting pong I've ever seen. Keyword: it's still pong. It's a nice revamp though, if you enjoy classic the classic. Grab it on sale and adjust your expectations accordingly.

its fun for about an hour but then it becomes just kind of boring since youre literally just playing best of 3 pong against a bad ai. but that first hour was great. i love the overall feel of the game especially sound design and soundtrack.

- Deviens répétitif après un certain temps (après tout, il s'agit à la base de Pong)
- Trop peu de pouvoirs disponibles
- Peu d'explication sur les skills points et leurs avantages mais on s'y retrouve après un moment
- Certains opposants fonctionnent bizarrement avec les physiques du jeu les rendant plutôt difficiles à battre sans que ce soit réellement justifié (notamment ceux qui sont très larges)
Verdict :
C'est un divertissement agréable qui fait retomber dans la nostalgie des jeux d'arcade classiques à plein avec une touche bien spéciale. Un jeu qui saura vous divertir au moins pendant une soirée ou en plus courtes sessions. De plus, il ne coûte presque rien alors je ne peux que le recommander.
Der Trailer hat mich zum Kauf animiert und hat mir echt gefallen. Leider ist das Spiel nicht so peppig. Technisch passiert einfach zu wenig um mich bei der Stange zu halten. Der Soundtrack ist auch nicht der Knaller, da deutete der Trailer ebenfalls mehr an. Es ist halt Pong und wird durch mögliche Upgrades auch nicht besser, die man übrigens nur am Ende jeden Levels auswählen kann. Lokaler 2-4 Spieler-Modus hätte es vielleicht rausgerissen, bei dem jeder seine Upgrades vorher auswählen bzw. im Match aufsammeln muss. Da hätte man mehr daraus machen können.
Je ne sais pas si c'est juste à la manette ou si cela ce produit au clavier mais vous ne pouvez pas faire de ligne droite lorsque vous vous déplacez de gauche à droite sur l'écran vous faites une monstrueuse diagonale qui va probablement vous faire détester ce jeu tellement cela vous fera rater la balle.

It's table tennis (PONG) with upgrades and randomish (idk how it works) enemies and boards. Great fun in small doses. The kind of game to burn 5-10 minutes at a time on. And it was a dollar on sale.

The developers clearly had a cool idea here, but could not figure out how to carry it to the finish line. After going through an entire cycle of 200 rounds, what I have to say is that the game has several interesting concepts layered on top of a really boring game called Pong, and no matter how you slice and dice it, it's still just Pong.
The fact that there is nothing really to give you a break from playing freaking Pong is probably the game's biggest flaw, because if there was some overworld or side activity, the flow would likely be way better, but as it is, the game itself literally asks you "this is sort of boring, isn't it?" and every paddle you talk to seems to agree with that. They will say "oh, yet more fighting, this is meaningless", which is meant to be funny or a meta commentary on the genre, but just ends up reflecting what the experience feels like.
Were it half of its length, which it could easily have been, it would be a way tighter and more pleasant experience. You can feel the writing that starts off really strong slipping away from the developer's hands, as the text devolves into the realm of the generically macabre instead of the intriguing. As the grind goes on and not enough is happening to keep you interested, you have to rely on its gimmicks to carry you all the way to its "ending", where it loops like a NES game for you to try harder playing 200 more rounds of the same thing.
It's sort of neat, mind you, and there is certainly a public out there for it, but I can't really recommend.
This game is one of the greatest RPGs you will ever play. It's got a great level up system giving you many branching paths offering many ways to build your character, but it doesn't stop there, as you travel you can acquire customization items to really make it feel unique to yourself. It doesn't stop there, with countless foes to battle always offering new challenges along the way, you won't have any reason to feel overpowered due to challenging bosses and terrains that work against you. By far one of the best RPG's out there with more replayability than any new upcoming 40 hour plus 60$ nonsense. I stan pong paddle
PS, the achievements for this are gonna be a pain to get if you ever try.

Fun but grindy some of the bosses are bull its like game designers couldn't think of anything to make it harder other than making them take up the entire damn screen most of the time it seems to be luck no idea why you would choose the girth upgrade its not going to give you much of an advantage in my opinion.

Simply put the core gameplay that plays need to invest into for the chance for any of the fringe jokes to pay off is almost unbearable. If the point is the jokes, focus on that, not weak pong.
Blue Wizard again with a simple concept that I can gladly sink much time into. This game is as ridiculous as the name, and a lot of fun. It's the RPG Pong that we have been waiting for and didn't know we needed. For the incredibly low price, I already have gotten my money's worth of enjoyment.
Now that I've gone past level 100 I have to ask, what is the point of this game?
There is almost no challenge and the challenge doesn't ramp up as the you get further into the game. Most of the powers you get are useless but some are over powered. There is some attempts at humour in the game but for me they fell flat.
Not a bad game and it is cheap so I will recommend it. However the developers could have done so much more with the concept. Or better yet go back to making more of their excellent puzzle games.

게임 방식 자체는 퐁과 같지만, 200개의 스테이지를 깨면서 (5스테이지마다 보스가 나온다. 그런데 보스라고 해서 모두 강한 건 아니고 난이도는 천차만별이다) 주인공 (막대기) 를 강하게 만들어 200개의 다른 막대기들을 이기고, 최종보스를 이긴 다음에는 내 스탯을 모두 간직한 채로 1스테이지로 돌아가 게임을 다시 하면서 주인공을 더 강하게 만들거나, 보스들과 연애를 하는 등 결국 클리커 게임처럼 무한히 돌고 도는 게임이다. 말만 들으면 "간단한 게임에 다양한 요소들을 넣어서 파고들 거리가 많게 발전시킨, 기묘하고 신선한 게임" 으로 보일 수 있으나, 실상은 전혀 그렇지 않고 금방 매력을 잃게 되는 지루한 게임이다. 위에서 말한 요소들이 왜 지루하게 느껴지는지 알아보자 :
1. 게임플레이 (+ 주인공의 레벨을 올리면서 배우게 되는 마법과 스탯 상승)
초반 스테이지들에는 일반 퐁과 똑같은 방식으로 게임이 진행되지만, 레벨을 올리면서 막대기의 크기가 커지고, 막대기를 상하좌우로 움직일 수 있고, 마법들을 배우게 되면서 덩치가 큰 적, 특히 보스들에게 맞서싸울 수 있게 된다. 마법의 경우는 그나마 이 게임에서 신선했으나, 후반부로 갈수록 쓰는 마법만 쓰게 되어서 10종류나 되는 마법을 만들어야 됬을까? 라는 생각을 들게 한다. 게임플레이의 경우, 초-중-후반부에 게임을 하게 될 때 느끼게 되는 기분을 서술하자면 다음과 같다 :
초반 : 아직 주인공이 약해서 한 판 한 판이 도전 정신을 요구한다. 보스들의 경우 무식하게 덩치만 큰 보스는 보자마자 쌍욕이 나오며 마법으로 체력을 모두 깎아 죽이거나 뛰어난 반사신경으로 이겨야 한다. 이 때는 게임의 초반부라 그래도 다양한 막대기들과 보스를 보는 맛이 있다.
중반 (200스테이지를 모두 깨고 처음으로 루프를 돌 때) : 이때부터 주인공이 강해서 게임이 더 이상 신선하지 않다. 스테이지를 모두 돌았는데 왜 신선함을 기대하냐고 물을 수 있지만, 예를 들어 클리커 게임의 경우에는 한 번 루프하게 되면 적이 강해지거나 숨겨진 스탯이 오르는 등 변하는 점이 생기는데, 이 게임의 경우는 그런 거 없다. 그래서 업적 100% 달성 & 보스들과 연애를 하기 위해 루프를 도는 이유 말고는 루프를 돌 이유가 없다.
후반 (모든 보스들과 연애를 하려고 3~4번 루프를 돌 때) : 여기서부터는 주인공이 너무 강하기 때문에 그냥 적 얼굴에 주인공을 비비면서 억지로 공을 상대편으로 밀어넣으면 된다. 중반부보다는 게임 진행속도가 빠르지만, 일일히 손으로 조작해야 하는 건 변하지 않기 때문에 손의 피로도는 감소하지 않을 것이다.
즉, 스탯을 찍으면서 성장요소를 느끼는 초반부는 그나마 할 만하지만, 루프를 돌면서까지 반복플레이를 하게 만들 재미와 동기가 부족하다. 보스들과 연애하는 게 동기가 아닌가? 라고 느낄 수 있지만...
2. 연애
연애라고 하니 뭔가 거창한 시스템이 나올 것 같지만, 사실은 보스들이 주인공에게 말을 걸고, 올바른 선택지들을 선택해서 호감을 느끼면 바로 연애를 하게 되는 1차원적 시스템이다. 이 시스템의 가장 큰 문제점은, 잘못된 선택지를 선택하면 보스에게 반감을 사게 되고, 다시 연애를 할 기회를 얻으려면 한 번 루프를 돌아야 선택지를 고를 기회를 준다는 것이다. 즉, 만약 보스에게 말을 걸었는데 대답을 잘못했다? 축하한다. 200개의 스테이지를 다시 깨야 말을 걸 기회를 얻을 수 있을 것이다. 이 빌어먹을 시스템 때문에 필자 또한 루프를 5번이나 돌리고 게임 플레이타임이 이따구로 길어진 것이다.
그럼 과연 연애를 하면 무엇을 얻느냐, 사실상 업적 빼고는 실질적인 이득은 오지 않는다. 차라리 연애를 하는 보스를 스킵할 수 있으면 루프를 돌면서 노가다를 20% 줄일 수 있었을 것이다. 애초에 내가 원할 때 마음대로 루프를 할 수 없다는 것부터 노가다 편의성은 땅바닥에 버린 것과 같지만....
3. 장비, 펫?
게임 설명에는 "전설적인" 장비를 모으고, 다양한 짐승의 등에 타서 게임을 즐기라고 되어 있다. 당연하지만 과대광고다. 장비는 아무런 효과 없는 장식품에 불과하고, 원하는 모자, 옷, 및 신발을 마음대로 입을 수도 없고 게임이 끝날 때까지 무조건 랜덤으로 입어야 한다. 펫의 경우 역시 랜덤으로 1마리씩만 데리고 다닐 수 있으며, 주인공의 발밑에 달리게 된다. 처음에는 이것 때문에 판정이 커질 줄 알았는데 판정에 1도 관여하지 않으니 쓸데없는 잡동사니들을 모으는 사람이나 좋아할 기능들이다.
결론적으로, 이것저것 자랑하는 특징들은 많지만 막상 게임을 해보면 얕게 판 우물과 같이 깊이가 없는 게임이다. 가격 대비 플레이타임은 당연히 충분하지만, 게임 자체가 노가다를 강요하면서 막상 플레이어들에 대한 배려는 하나도 없고, 게임이 제공하는 재미와 유머 또한 충분한 흥미를 유발하지 않아서 추천을 남길 수 없다.

Awesome game. Great sense of humour and a fun progression. It layers in fresh mechanics to the classic paddles-style gameplay and then dumps a couple gallons of style all over it; super charming the whole way through. You'll want to turn it up for the bumpin' soundtrack!
Pong 2020, pixelly comedic RPG edition

Definitely, it's funny and nostalgic. And cheap! Also, there are achievements to unlock.
This is ridiculously addictive! The rounds are short so it's easy to want to play just one more...and then one more....and one more after that, why not. It started easy and maybe a little slow, but quickly ramped up to some frantic ball paddling and fireball dodging by about level 8. I've gotta say, this is really fun!
Plus, the production values are way higher than I'd expect for a game like this. Its all done up in cute, colorful, pixelly graphics with Atari sound effects, slightly ominous ambient music, with some narration at times. It feels both retro and futuristic at the same time, somehow?
Adding role playing elements to Pong is just pure dumb genius. I love it. Maybe there will be occasional gritty black-and-white moral choices to decide the fate of the Paddleverse, too? And hmm, if not....why not? That'd be awesome.
The one thing I'd suggest for improvement is that I found it confusing how my health meter and my enemy's health meter look different. I think it'd be easier to read my health and the enemies if we both had the same health meter on each side of the screen.
Anyways, I can't wait to play more...great job!
Best Role-Playing-Pong-Game that I've ever played
I'm too lazy to write reviews but find myself compelled - this should be 10x the price. It's Pong on an LSD trip. Instant classic.

Тот самый непревзойденный Pong реинкарнировался...Собственно,на этом можно обзор и заканчивать,это же маст-хэв для всех любителей психоделики. А еще тут файерболлы, и всякое другое безобразие. Глядя на цену,хочется плакать и желать это чудо в каждый дом !
Fun twist. Great price. So far hasn't been too difficult but I expect it to get more difficult and stranger as I go. Nice sound track to go with the voice overs.
Who says you can't mix Pong and role playing level up wizardry? Not me. Sound like a strange hybrid? Sure is! But that's part of the charm.
There is no reason not to get this RIGHT NOW. Made it to Level015 so far and i will be back for more. Weird? Yes. Expensive? No. Fun? DEFINITELY YES.
