wholesome and interesting characters! the story is nice too, but feels kinda unresolved.
avery is a fun and refreshing protagonist. finleys route was super cute, masons was nice too. didn't bother with the guys, i skipped through them for graves. his route explained most of the unresolved things, but i personally did not enjoy his romance part at all.
also, this game doesn't run perfectly. the way the dialogue and skip function works, is weird sometimes. and the game crashed four times on me, but at least autosave works. still, i recommend getting this on a sale!

This is a cute dating sim with an interesting story and compelling character lines. Sometimes slightly hard to follow, but still fun. The last unlocked romance option was a bit icky (large age and power difference), but it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment.
As is mostly usual for these sorts of games, very glad it has a fast forward button for when you're restarting a new game to do a different date path.
A fun little visual novel/dating sim with some interesting characters and cute art. If you like cats, you'll love love the magical twist on a typical story.

Hustle cat is everything I'd want in a dating sim. Not hard to play, cute stories, visuals, amazing music, and cats as a bonus.
I bought this game years ago and finally played through it and it did not disappoint. I wish it was longer, the characters and the stories were very pleasant. It's a shame not more people have enjoyed this game truly.

The story feels like it rushes from plot point to plot point without much consideration for how that affects the investment the reader will get from the experience. That said, the story IS interesting, the characters are likable, and I like a lot of the art choices.

Short, sweet, and lots of fun.
This is one of my favourite games to play. However, don't get it for the full price. Get it once it's on a big sale or something. Because while this is a great game, with lots of character and personality, it is not good enough to warrant that much money lmao. Despite this, it's really comforting. It has cats, coffee, cat cafes, magic and witches. As well as a varied cast to romance, all who are so lovable in their own way that I cannot help but giggle whenever I replay their routes. They're all so stinking cute. Not to mention the camaraderie really feels somewhat natural, because of the wittiness of the dialogue. It flows so well. The only complaint is that it is a little short for my likings. The story feels unfinished somehow, even though it isn't really. I want to spend more time in this world, I want to get answers to questions that don't get answered fully, and I wish that I could find out what the devs planned for the route they never got to write, from their kickstarter goals. I'm so curious I could tear myself apart. But yeah, instead of doing so, I will swaddle myself in the comfort this game gives me, despite its flaws. Somehow it doesn't surprise me that one of my favourite visual novels is about a magical cat cafe. It's quite literally all of the things I dream about. So yeah! Definitely check it out for sure. ONLY WHEN IT'S ON SALE.

It's not a very long visual novel but the story is really good. I love that you can customise your look a bit and even choose your gender. The different paths that can be taken have great story and tension. The art style is really cute. I recommend this game fore sure.
I really like the way MC is written LOL They're so unserious and their dynamic with everyone feels so natural. I like that the routes are also pretty straightforward yet enjoyable. My personal favorites are Hayes and the secret route :)
I will say it gets pretty tiring to fast forward/skip through the common script in each route.
I went in expecting just a casual dating sim and got so much more. This was such a delight.
This game has always had such a special place in my heart <3 I find myself coming back to it for a bit of comfort and nostalgia even now almost a decade later! The soundtrack is so insanely good, the art and dialog are well though out and the story line can be quite moving!

I did have to restart my game halfway through, because it forcibly decided my love interest for me, based on whom I'd been friendliest with (?). Apparently being platonically friendly with home girl was a no-no if I don't swing that way (which I don't). So I restarted and was RUDE to her, and all went swimmingly from there.

I originally played this game in 2021, but now that I have my own Stem account I bought it just to play it again. I adore Hustle Cat so much, and will happily throw money at these developers if it means I can have another game like this. Hayes and Landry are my absolute favorites btw, and I would buy merch if there was any. I'm so happy this game exists!!
I wanted to like the game but it left me disappointed. (Spoliers ;;)
The game had a nice plot though it lazily explained the reasoning for the main conflict. And the endings didn't really have that much variety. You get to choose how things go until a certain point in which it doesn't even give you choices anymore.
Characters/love interests were dry as hell. You could barely even form a connection with the characters because of the fast pacing. (The game likes to time-skip). Mason was probably the only one that actually delve into their story but the others were just...there. The secret-love interest - Grave, was the only part of the game that actually explained the whole reasoning for the conflict and why it was happening but even that made no sense. Grave, despite being older than the MC relied heavily on them despite he only knowing MC for a short time. And Nacht, the main antagonist, supposedly the past lover of Grave was barely talked about through the story until near the ending where he actually approaches you.
MC pissed me off. That twink could barely do anything without help despite them literally studying magic the whole game.
And the glitches really pissed me off, the frame-rate would buffer during some scenes even going as far as crashing the whole game completely. And after the crash if you didn't save at that exact spot you were on you'd loose your progress.
Endings were rushed, it was the same formula with every love interest.
The MC doesn't even turn fully into a cat.
Not worth 20 dollars in my opinion. ^^
The cutest game ever. I've played it a bunch of times so far, every time i needed a pick me up. The romances are really sweet, the cats are cuddly and Graves is the best. Play it play it play it!!

只能快进已读剧情导致游玩过程非常折磨，每通一条线就需要歇一阵子才能打起精神继续玩，感觉在共通就应该解决的问题却集中在个人线，于是觉得怎么猝不及防就进线了，进线后怎么突然就看对眼了。明明坏结局更适合部分剧情的发展，但怪就怪在所有角色的坏结局都是为了隐藏线服务的（扶额苦笑），好结局再甜蜜也有一种强求的美。
老板的剧本蛮惊喜的，恋爱感不强但是超级好嗑，是玩家被锁线折磨和费劲解锁隐藏后应得的宝藏。
其他人的线......cg质量很高，可惜剧本一般，无处不在的冷幽默，决战时队友突然大喊卧槽反派他是搞乐队的让我们一起音乐攻击吧。我真的沉默了，推除了老板以外的线时都会觉得很郁闷，所以鼠标点得飞快大致看完了结局。
黑泥预警：[spoiler]主角很擅长冒犯别人，还是说就想塑造这样的形象？比如Finley线的争执剧情，她被黑粉线下辱骂，主角的第一反应是让Finley别工作，别在公众场合露面。这很难评，为什么第一反应不是报警？强行降智来制造矛盾的方式很低级，明明最后就是靠警察把黑粉抓走才彻底解决这件事啊。事后两人冷静下来就像偶像剧般看清彼此的心意，"真的很在乎对方啊虽然想法不太一致但冷静后能互相理解呢"。可是两个人三观不一致，磨合期一定既漫长又痛苦吧，这种情况下给我冒出来一张亲吻cg达成好结局，难嗑。[/spoiler]
骂了这么多又为什么要给好评呢，还不是因为老板真的很蛊，主角再差劲的表现也在他的计划内，可以从容地用长者的包容回应小年轻的莽撞，这是我能嗑到的关键。但是，我的老板后日谈呢？后日谈呢？后日谈呢？感觉老板这只可恶的猫咪侠还藏了很多设定没交代清楚啊喂！
This game is so cute! 6 different romances, cats all over the place, what's not to like? The game is about 10-15 hours to play through entirely and it's completely worth it. Get this gem!

I absolutely loved every second of this! 4/12 achievements so I've still got some replay to do. It's so, so good. Totally good for that though. The story was super compelling and immersive!
This game is really entertaining! Good writing, good art, good music, unique and cutesy. Glad I found this and bought it during the visual novel sale a few weeks ago!
This game has been on my backlog since Dexbonus started playing it about 8 years ago (yes I'm that behind), and having finally completed it over the course of 3 days, all I can say is WOW. For a generally pretty quick game, I was absolutely hooked. The plot was easy to follow but still held enough of my interest to keep me going, but what truly shines is the characters. For short snippets, you get a really clear picture of who each individual love interest is, who Avery is, and why and how they end up working out together. Each character feels believable and real, and there's a lot of genuine chemistry between everyone.
Even routes that weren't my favorite just for taste reasons (sorry, Landry) were enjoyable and fun to play through, and I felt invested in each individual storyline as I played. The creators knew who their audiences were for each route, but did a good job making each story compelling and touching. Plus, we love to see non-binary rep, access to all romance routes regardless of gender, AND some skintone variation. A really good game to grab if you need something uplifting, heartwarming, and a little whimsical at this point in time. And cats!!!

I honestly bought the game just to try it out since it was on sale. if you're into story-driven games and enjoy following the narrative then you might like it. but for me it was super boring. all you do is follow the story, read dialogues, and move on. it just didnt hook me. There are 5 potential romances; Reese, Finley, Hays, Landry and Mason. Also a secret ending but only unlockable once you’ve completed all the other routes. No worries, there are guides available to help you out.

Settings & features include; audio controls and the ability to turn on/off the scroll wheel to use it for progress. The settings truthfully are pretty limited. However there is a huge gallery that unlocks as you play. In-game you can skip text, save and view the history log.

I really like the art style in this game, both the character art and the backgrounds are hand-drawn which I truly enjoy and appreciate. The sprites do have facial animations and sometimes do change poses.

The soundtrack is mainly instrumental with laid back lo-fi tracks mixed with more upbeat tunes for parts. There are some ambient sounds added which always is a nice touch to give a bit more immersion to the story. This novel also has no voice acting.
* I do have to say I LOVE the opening trailer after the prologue, a very catchy tune with some great editing. I very much enjoyed it. If you wish to see it check out the trailer on the store page (it is the same one).

I think the writing in this novel is really well done, there is some character development and the tone and use of language is fluid. The cast of characters all care about one another and you can feel that. There is also some humour thrown in which I found amusing.
The game with all endings netted me around 8 hours. I enjoyed all the routes but my favorite was the secret romance (you need to finish all the others before you can unlock it). The gallery is chocked full of great artwork too. There are no choices in settings for what text you can skip or text speed but just a note that skipping text will stop at [i]all choices[/i].
I got this novel during the Spring sale for an insanely good price and really enjoyed my time with it. A great add-on to throw in your basket! 🐱

I'm so glad I decided to pick this up during the VN sale. I got hooked during the first 20 minutes of this game from the characters alone. Everyone was so unique with their own charms and they got immediately into my heart.
I played my first run in one sitting and could barely lay the game down on evenings because I always wanted to play the next one. I have now 100% this game and it's one game that I will cherish forever and I'm actually a bit sad that it's over now.
I usually don't write reviews but for this one I just had to because it really feels like a hidden gem that I found for myself.
Its really cute. I like how each story unfolds. If you're looking for a nice otome game, this is worth the price.

As imagens são bonitas, a escrita é bem engraçada e é um jogo rápido... gostaria que tivesse mais opções de personalização do personagem principal (como o nome ou mais elementos da aparência), mas num geral foi uma experiência legal. Minhas rotas favoritas foram a da Mason e do Hayes, mas as outras são fofas também.

I played it on my Steam Deck. It shows as Unsupported for the Deck and if you try to start the game you will get a black screen with only the audio, so go to Properties - Compatibility - Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool and choose Proton 3.16-9. Make sure to save a lot, as sometimes the game will crash.
It´s a very cute game, although on the shorter side. The price is very fair, so I def recommend it if you´re looking for a sweet, fun, relaxing VN.

I totally am fine with this game being 20 dollars. Each route will probably take you a few hours. There's 6 paths in total; each reveals another piece of the overall story and lore. The writing is excellent; very funny and engaging. There's a few tiny writing mistakes here and there (missing quotation mark or smth) but it doesn't at all detract from the enjoyment. Amazing soundtrack!
I would gladly throw money at the creators for a Hustle Cat 2 where we get to see what everybody's been up to since the end of this story. Is Finley an influencer now? Is Hayes doing slam poetry? Will we ever see Reese's fashion show?? Are we married yet???

TLDR : adorable, wonderfully written game with well fleshed out characters and a fun, immersive story! I was left wanting more (because DUH who doesn't in dating sims and/or good, fun stories!) but satisfied with each route. (You're able to choose pronouns for the MC, yay!)
I truly adored this little game ! The writing was well done, the characters felt thought-out and alive, though with minor mistakes here and there (not bothersome to me at all!). I loooved the routes / story lines and craved more but still felt very satisfied! Many times I was caught kicking my feet like a middle-schooler with a new crush, literally laughing out loud at these cutie pies or even holding back tears at heart felt moments (but I am a huge sap..)
Some minor details weren't fully explained, but they were not really needed for story purposes and I felt as though maybe that was personal information said characters wouldn't share to the MC at that time, or maybe with time! But I know that can be an annoyance for some players, so I wanted to mention it here.
You don't have too much customization for the MC, other than 6 preset photos and pronouns (she, him, they) but that didn't bother me as I knew I was playing a character and not myself BUT was able to find myself in the MC and relate heavily to the writing, reactions, etc. The MC was goofy, irresponsible 19 year old kid finding themselves in the big city and a new job at a cat cafe with some interesting and cute coworkers and boss! Sign me up !!
Truly, this game had my heart!! The writing was immensely good, as with some visual novels I've played just.. didn't portray how people actually spoke, but the writing matched each character wonderfully and had me loving each and every second. Truly 10/10, just wish I could get my hands on more >:)
It's lighthearted, no-brainer fun, but the endings leave a lot of loose ends that don't get fully developed. There's a lot implied but I'll admit the endings left me wanting a bit. I wish the character was more customize-able since I don't really like the hair or name, but I enjoy the story. I wish there had been more in-depth discussions about how magic came to be, what the history was between 2 certain characters, and more satisfying endings on the secret route.
Ive never seen such a ridiculous protagonist my entire life. "Its not my fault this" "its not my fault that" "you cant blame mee". Live like an animal in the filth and doesnt care... no sense of responsability... a man-child. Thank God it was on sale and I only paid a dollar for it, because it isnt worth any more.
Fun game, it took me a little while to get one of the achievements because of a slight glitch, but I recommend the game overall.

When I got this game, I wasn't sure if I would like it but it intrigued me enough to give it a try. And I'm so glad I did. I can't write most of what I want because I would hate to accidentally "spoil" the game for anyone but if you're looking for a cute game about magic and cats and coffee that's simple and easy to play, this would be it.

I have a couple of complaints, but overall, I liked the game. I should note I got the game on sale for like two bucks, but had I paid full price, I would've said the game wasn't worth the price. The concept is amazing! But I feel like it was such a wasted opportunity! Both the characters and the story aren't fleshed out really well. It feels rushed? Like you start the game, and it's like "a week or so go by" and then suddenly you're getting together with someone and then big plot stuff. There isn't a ton of character or relationship development, and the story itself is missing some background. Which is a shame, because it's so good!!!! It's such a unique story and an awesome concept and the characters are amazing, and I just want more DX
If you have a hyperactive imagination like me that lets you freely fill in the blanks, it's not too bad. I seriously enjoyed playing, I just kinda hated how it ended? But for two bucks, I got like 12 hours of play and alot of gooey feelings and alot of good laughs. The art is amazing and OMFG the soundtrack!!! GET THE SOUNDTRACK. It's so good!!!! It was hella worth. I've played a tad too many otome and romance visual novel games, so I'm a bit of a critic, but overall it was just a fun game. I just wanted more!
So i found this game on discount and decided to play it, the game is a bit short for my liking but it has a unique setting for my opinion with each route having a bonding phase and then concluding.
it feels like an indie game, something else i like a lot is the music (Graves' theme to be exact and a few other soundtracks)... besides that, i am glad i found a character to like, as i am a bit picky with my characters (or so i think) anyway, i believe it is enjoyable enough, i'll surely play it again sometime although i cleared all rouets
Je trouve ce jeu pour l'instant très intéressant :) C'est un novel game, on a différents choix qui peut modifier certaines scènes de l'histoire. Histoire touchante et originale. J'ai pas l'habitude de jouer à ce genre de jeu ^^

It's actually has a pretty cute story line and really worth it. The graphic is amazing, the music and the dialogue is great as well~ and most importantly, all of the cats are the cutest <3

well. i bought the cat dating game, and no regrets! charming art, awesome music and most importantly CUTE CATS!!!! my personal favourites were mason, reese and graves especially <3 though at full price it is pretty short (i bought on sale, however) but the quality of the game is undeniable! it would be great if there were other achievements and tidbits to get through to lengthen playtime and justify the price.

I was expecting this to be hilariously bad but then it just ended up being legitimately hilarious and cute. Major disappointment that faded instantly as I saw Graves, the cafe owner. I have to say that the game isn't perfect. Parts feel a bit rushed and there are some minor errors in the writing, but they are few and far between. The cast of delightful characters more than makes up for it. The art style is lovely and I have to give props to Samm Neiland for the music. The romantic moments felt so cinematic partly because the music was top tier. If you like cats, cute people, cafes, or romance, give this game a try!

Cute and fun dating sim. As a nonbinary person, I really enjoyed being able to choose my appearance and pronouns.
I am astounded that this game is $19.99 if not discounted. I got this game in the summer sale for $1.99 and for *that* price I am happy with the purchase because the game was pretty simple and cute, and I like games that I can complete in under 10 hours just for little treats during the week.
The characters seem a little half baked, not fully developed but for having bought it for $2 I really don't mind that much. So if you just want a little quick romcom-like fix, I'll upvote for that.

o/a/ê protagonista... como quiser, tem personalidade propria oq eu acho mt daora, mas pode ser algo ruim caso você seja uma pessoa que prefere visual novels que te dão total controle sobre ações, falas etc, nesse jogo só tem algumas escolhas pra decidir rota e [spoiler] aquela parte que vc escolhe se foge ou ajuda o graves [/spoiler]
a arte é fofa e os personagens são muito interessantes, a historia não é a coisa mais impressionante do mundo, mas é um jogo leve com algumas partes que te deixam :O

Hustle Cat is an LGBTQ+ Visual Novel/Dating Sim about people and cats.
You are jobless and living at your Aunt's place and one day you find yourself in front of a place named A Cat's Paw. It is a cat cafe that you soon learn is a lot more than just a mere cat cafe. This game is filled with romance, cheesy puns, humour, drama and of course, dating! Every routes starts the same but at a certain point based on your choices, you will be locked to a character's route and spend a lot more time with them.
The graphics are very well made, the avatars are nicely drawn and the cats are super cute. The music is good for it's genre and is actually composed for this game. The game's length is fair, 7-10 hours if you do all routes (I'm a fast reader, so your mileage might vary.) The writing is insanely well thought and cohesive, I don't think I've seen a single grammatical mistake during the entire game. The story is compelling and the plot twists are good, even if by now I can see most of them are coming. The game has a lot of jokes/memes/references as well!
The game has 7 main characters: Avery (main character/you, lazy, jobless, not particularly skilled at anything, nerd), Landry (friendly, reckless, protector), Hayes (shy, timid, nice), Finley (nerd, princess, famous), Mason (strong lady, protector, cold), Reese (Brat, bossy) and Graves (GOTH DADDY?) Jokes aside for the last one, I hope this helps put a picture on the variety of the cast present in this game!
Honestly I think everything in this game is perfect, aside from the game's engine itself. Some pictures appears twice, the game crashed once while skipping and there's no 'skip already seen dialogue' option. That last one would've made the game a lot more enjoyable, as you have to go through the same very long intro 6 times if you want to go for all characters routes... Saving and loading doesn't really help you there, because your choices affects which routes you will end up on, so it's just... annoying.
Overall, expensive but worth it. Good visual novel, great characters personalities and a lot of content crammed up in one game!
I love everything about Hustle Cat! All of the characters have such wonderful stories (but Mason is best girl fight me). I would recommend this game to anyone~

This is a short and sweet otome game that I definitely recommend. The art is pretty, and I greatly enjoyed the strange but cute stories.
I think this game is super charming! I totally get where others are coming from about the price, but it's worth it to me for sure for all the enjoyment I'm getting out of it. If you're a fan of the genre I can't imagine not having a good time playing through this one. I've truly laughed out loud during some of the scenes, and I am more than happy to support the team that put this together! Hope we get to see more from y'all in the future (=^ ^=)

Last year I was finally able to legally change my name to Avery.
So yeah, I guess I'd recommend this game.

I've never been one to play visual novels or dating sims. Got this game many many years ago in some bundle and I never touched it, but when I tidied up my steam library recently, it caught my attention and I had to play it. Over the past few days, I played all the routes.
I enjoyed it a lot. I love cats and this game playing in a cat café is delightful. The characters are all lovely in their way, even the ones I didn't like immediately, I learned to like in their respective routes. It was nice learning more about the whole thing every time you chose a diferent one and it never felt boring (which I know a lot from text-based games).
It's not a long game, but I can only recommend it! <3 This will stay in my heart for a while.
The art style, music and gameplay is great! I really enjoyed playing all of the different routes and having the fast forward button so you dont need to click through the repeated material. I got this game on a whim and I absolutely love it! Definetly recommend it!
