Crafted as a delightful tributed an impressively long time is spent watching the game tell it's story rather than participate in it.
[b]Horace[/b] outstays its welcome period. The story seems good at first, but it is too unnecessarily stretched. Some parts of the game are hard to follow, and locking story progression behind forced mini-games is absolutely rubbish. I got genuinely enraged at those times.
The close-up camera switches are also one of the worst design choices of this game

A snooze fest of a game. Remember the time when you were stuck at the family Christmas dinner and you had to wait and listen to hours of rambling stories spoken slowly by your slightly tipsy uncle and you're praying for it to end. That's this game.

No me gustó , se torna tedioso y monótono ; en especial la parte de la mansión en la que al derrotar a cada jefe debes llevar las piezas antes de que exploten. Diría que fue una manera cansada de alargar el juego, al extremo en el que se torna fastidioso por qué el mapa también es ambiguo. En cuanto a historia resulta interesante pero terminas viendo una película y casi no juegas . Los controles son terribles en especial al nadar . No es un mal juego pero sin problema al quitar la mitad de los capítulos sería excelente ya que las mecánicas de gameplay e historia resultan monótonas en algún punto .llevo tres semanas tratando de acabarlo y no lo logro por eso mismo . Lo acabaré pero más que nada por qué lo compre jajaja esto ya no es divertido..... Ya lo acabe y la verdad no lo volvería a jugar , reafirmó el juego se vuelve repetitivo y alargado innecesariamente

ill say, this game is a work of art even now, i just wish it could get some love again.
At it's best, Horace is a cozy, nostalgic adventure from the perspective of a robot that boots up from a blank state discovering the world around him. It's a linear, story driven, and difficult platformer with a touching narrative. There's lots of creative little moments including lots of star wars references and other pop culture nods which added a lot of charm. The music also deserves a shoutout as the 16 bit classical flavour gives some scenes some real magic!
Now the caveat... the platforming and boss battles are mostly fine... but near the last 20-30% , the difficulty spikes past "fun challenge" for me. The game does give you extra shields if you fail enough times, but the system can feel awkward. For example, there were moments where I knew I wanted the extra shield before even attempting the room, so I'd intentionally died enough times just to trigger it. This friction is not worth avoiding the game IMO, but a simple accessibility or quality of life tweaks like a default +1 shield would have massively improved the experience without changing what the game is.

questo platform è veramente particolare. Ha una storia molto articolata e toccante e una marea di filmati , forse un po lenti e prolissi, ma piacevoli. Ha un sacco di citazioni dalla cultura pop anni 80-90. Come platform è discreto e ha una meccanica interessante di rotazione del mondo. Andando avanti diventa anche tosto ma i checkpoints sono cmq abbastanza ravvicinati. può cmq causare un pò di frustrazione , dipende dall'abilità del giocatore, e cmq se vi bloccate c'è un modo per attivare la console sviluppatore con i cheats. Le musiche sono composte da tracce di musica classica e altre originali, nel complesso davvero ben fatte. E' lungo, ci ho messo 15 ore e avrei gradito che fossero state 10, ma nel complesso l'ho adorato e mi lascerà dei bei ricordi.
A highly enjoyable game that I can't help myself from replaying every year or so. The smooth movement and physics system are what really carry this game, and the story, soundtrack, and visuals aren't slouches either. The biggest problems are permanently missable collectibles and occasional movement jankiness; this jankiness being the most obvious when you obtain the swimming ability in the metroidvania segment of the game. I highly recommend buying the infinite swimtime upgrade as soon as you can, saves a lot of headache for sections like the water boss.

Certainly charming in terms of story and presentation -- with bit-tune renditions of classical music abound -- but the gameplay itself is ultimately lacking and devolves all too often into frustrating platform challenges.

I got pretty bored within the first hour because the game design is pretty horrible. There's far too much backtracking, and levels often slow the gameplay down with things like NPC's that you need to carry making you unable to sprint. The introductory levels teach very little while taking a massive amount of time to run through. Movement and jumping feel fine, but considering how much padding there is it gets quite tedious. It simply has too much fluff. Even after you get the boots - which do give the player something interesting to do - it's still bogged down by unskippable cutscenes that accomplish nothing. I understand not wanting the player to skip the narrative in the narrative platformer, but the entire story is told through a voice-over narrative.
There is no show, only tell. A text-to-speech robot explains the entire world to you, detail by excruciating detail. There are no voice actors. The plot is never progressed through gameplay. Do your linear objective -> explain the effect of that objective through an unskippable cutscene -> now here's the next thing -> repeat. Having the story glacially listed off to you by a literal TTS algorithm would be bad enough, but it's made far worse by the lackluster writing. Scenes are overexplained and some of them don't even need to exist. Taking the player out of the game to spend 10 seconds stating the obvious is bad for pacing.
With all of that being said, it's abundantly clear that a massive amount of love went into this game. But would I recommend playing it? If you have a tremendous amount of patience (more than me), sure. Go for it. It has some really cool ideas, mechanically and narratively. Those good parts are trapped in a mountain of janky filler, but I'm willing to bet that this game was barely able to come out as-is. The story goes to some truly insane places, and after watching it online I think it's easy to see why it resonates with so many people. It's ambitious, to say the least. Many of the problems that I've pointed out could easily be attributed to a lacking budget. Since you ultimately want to ship your game above all else, you're not going to worry about making every single level air-tight. So what if there's some wasted space? Voice actors are expensive, animation is even more expensive, and the writer really wanted to make space for every single part of the story he had because he wanted to tell all of it. I can respect that. I'd give it a thumbs-down, but I'm just too charmed by how much passion they put into this.
The game is very long and it gets repetitive very, very fast. I played it for 8.6 hours and I feel like I'm not even halfway through the (not very good) story. I would refund it if only I could.

War is bad and death is sad. I don't think people rip into the story enough. It's sci-fi shaped with nothing to say. This wouldn't matter if it was the usual brisk and lively fare but this is 10 minutes of slow cutscene of the "this is not qualified to tell me anything" variety per two screens of clumsy platforming. I didn't have much fun.

A challenging retro platformer that oozes character. Frustrating at times, but nothing insurmountable. The story, whilst fairly predictable, still delivers enough emotional hits with a dusting of British culture and humour over the top.
However, the game is very bloated with minigames and detours. And if you want to 100% achieve you will either have to play through the game twice or use something like cheat engine.
Incredible game. Gameplay is very good as is the narrative. I also like all the references to the 80's. It can sometimes be a difficult game though. If you like platform games this is nearly perfect.

Horace is simply outstanding. A love letter to both the 8 bit era and platform games in general. It's one of those games that is fun from the outset and incredibly addictive - a rare title where you are either playing it or thinking about when you'll be able to play it next.
Although the gameplay is essentially a platform puzzle game (with the odd boss fight thrown in), it shows plenty of originality, with some really fiendish room designs to keep you on your toes. The main character, Horace, is highly agile and pleasingly easy to control. You will die lots - but it's always your fault, not that of the game. It can be frustrating at times, with lots of deaths in the same places, but patience and perseverance will see you progress
Set against a surprisingly moving story with plenty of humour which will make you both laugh out loud and groan, this is a must-own title both for retro gaming fans and fans of platform games generally. It does lose a little focus in the middle (the endless trudging around the mansion - an obvious nod to Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy) does become a little tedious, but that's really the only time the pacing sags.
Once I bought it, Horace quickly established itself not just as one of my favourite games I've played this year, but one of my favourite games ever - and in a gaming "career" that stretches back to the early 80s, that's some feat!

Went into this blind, just with a feeling it was gonna be a great game and yep, absolute cinema. Loved the writing, music, characters, humor, gameplay, and story! The use of piano and chiptune is such a unique pair and using it with classical music really does wonders.

其实早在几年前就买了，不知道从哪得知的，也不知道为什么，总之就是有种吸引力
这是一个很用心做的游戏哦！很多细节以及彩蛋都能看得出来制作者们对这款游戏的热爱，不只是普通的平台跳跃类游戏，随着剧情发展会出现各种小游戏，开启新地图，甚至还能赚钱为自己升级，不同时期的小游戏插入恰到好处，让人不会产生重复的疲劳感
而且虽然没有官方中文，但是也是很容易就能看懂的，特别是剧情，非常喜欢以主角第一人称视角的讲述，就像是讲完了这一生，不过也确实是走过了一生，一个机器人拥有人类的感情，十分渴望获得认可，希望成为一个男孩，但是周遭的人不都是这么想的，对他很好的老爷子主人也在他最需要陪伴的时候去世了，非常可惜，不过最终主角以非常浪漫的方式体验了人类的生老病死，并且，可能真的在结尾成为了真正的男孩子，而过去的它也终于可以和老爷子在一起了，真棒啊
就像读完一本好书一样，非常令人难忘，希望未来也能体验更多这样的游戏，而且游戏开发人员好像很少！？这么少人却能做出这么优秀的游戏，好样的！
Los 10 primeros capítulos, me encantaron, después dejé de prestarle un poco de atención a la historia y sentí que ya quería que terminara el juego.
Me gustó mucho el arte, el soundtrack y las referencias que tiene.
No me gustaron muchos de los mini juegos que tiene y que sean obligatorios.
En general, lo recomiendo porque tiene niveles y jefes chidos y en cuestión de plataformas fue interesante tener tantas dinámicas.
Sólo que sí se me hizo muy largo y ya estaba un poco harta.
Everyone who grew up gaming in the 80's should play this game.
Horace is a very charming little platformer game with a suprisingly fun story. The game is mostly focused on platforming but multiple different minigames are sprinkled in for variety which are a bit hit and miss IMO.
The platforming starts off what you expect but relatively early you gain the ability to walk on walls and ceilings which changes the way you have to think about the levels quite a bit especially as your gravity also changes when you're on walls.
The platforming can get quite hard and tight which is can be frustrating as Horace's controls are a bit floaty, thankfully if you keep failing too much the game will give you a hand with extra hitpoints or skipping the first phase of a boss.
Overall a very solid platformer which I highly recommend!

This game blew my expectations in all ways. I didn't expect to get so emotionally involved, and the puzzles could be challenging at times, but I never felt like they were impossible.

This is one of the games I've requested that Steam remove from my Library. It has been a long time since I finished this one so my memories may not be 100% clear. I am sure I hated it though, which I feel bad about because a lot of love clearly went in to its development. I think it was kind of a precision platformer, but it didn't feel rewarding, just clunky. The story was also a way bigger part of the experience than I've seen any any other precision platformers. I feel like 40% or more of the game was cutscenes. The plot felt like some BBC show I'd catch on PBS half asleep as a kid. It was a weird hodgepodge of themes, with some insane tonal whiplash. I'm usually down for an emotional rollercoaster, but this game didn't pull it off.
Horace surprised me and surpassed all of my expectations. It may be a bit too long and a bit slow at times, but as a whole it's a well executed game. The art is great as you can see and the story which is a surprisingly big part of the game is interesting and well written. Most important, the devs constantly throw new ideas and gameplay mechanics keeping the game fresh for it's long runtime. It's definitely apparent that this is a game that the people behind it really cared about and probably had fun creating!

Horace is a pixel platformer game. With a bunch of references, it can be hard and frustrating when it comes to play the puzzles/platformers, but besides that, great story, great music, funny jokes. About the cutscenes, you can enable skipping option in the settings, but as the developers said, you won't understand the story. One of the best indie games. 8/10

absolutely outstanding, charming graphics and story.... was expecting a walking simulator game with very little game-play.... you get a great and tough platformer with loads of fun references to soo many random and fun things, I get frustrated during platforming so need to take a break now but eager to find out what happens to the little guy
As someone who was a kid in the 80s and loved shows like Dangemouse and Count Duckula, I was sold as soon as the Thames Television themed splash screen appeared.
This game is just so British, cute, funny and fun.

It's a [Meh] story-focused adventure platformer with a cute story and really nice pixel art, but it's just too long.
The most considerable criticism is how long and slow the game is, primarily because of the numerous cut scenes and the platformer parts in between. Having some mini-games to break up the platformer would be nice, though. Still, it doesn't happen as often as I would have wished, and the core remains a platformer. Text-to-speech is thematic and a nice way to save on the budget, but due to the game's length, the monotone text-to-speech can get rather dull.
Other than that, the story is decent, as well as the gameplay, but even the gameplay lags behind due to the length of the game.
Let me preface that this game is HARD. It gets to points where you're gonna be going through rooms several times over because something hit you.
But I love this game, and despite how much Gigabytes it sucks up, it is a joy and a HALF to play every time and show my friends. Pixel Art is absolutely beautiful, the story is told from such a charming character, and is JUST as charming, if not even more.
I recommend it to everyone who loves tough platformers, heart-rending and moving stories, humor and references up the wazoo, and just... want to have a good time. While I haven't finished it myself, still tryna figure out how to get that 1,000,000 things cleaned in the Switch Version (yes I bought the game twice that's how much I loved it), it's still something I only can promise you'll love until you can't anymore.
And to those who love robots, and you know EXACTLY who you are... you're gonna wanna hug this lad almost immediately before he even speaks.
If you are old enough to get the C64 references, then you'll like this game.
It's standard platform stuff, with a very British storyline.
I've had it in my library for years and occasionally will install it and try to complete it. I never do, but each run I have is in no means unenjoyable.
The only big negative is the inability to skip cut scenes, and as someone who doesn't really care about the story, it becomes really tedious listening to something I already know with any key press just pausing the action. It's too late for the game to be patched to allow this, so just take that as the main negative.

The game could have been good but ends up being annoying and frustrating. The story's decent but not amazing. Horace's voice gets very annoying after a few hours. The controls are slightly janky, which makes the intense difficulty more annoying to bear with. Mini-games are randomly forced onto you, but they aren't very well developed or fun. Honestly I think the game would've been a lot better with a few different choices.

The story is cute and nice. The platforming is incredibly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying, and gets worse and worse as the game goes on. I also hated all the /♥♥♥♥♥♥♥/ rhythm heaven minigames. I do recommend the beginning, but I didn't play it until the end.

Juego de plataformas que entremezcla muy bien partes de historia, minijuegos y diferentes encuentros que le dan mucha variedad al conjunto, y pese a ser un juego largo, no se hace pesado (al menos no por ser repetitivo).
Desgraciadamente, y esto es un punto negativo MUY importante, los controles no funcionan del todo bien. Y por "no funcionan" me refiero exactamente a eso: Hay un montón de ocasiones en las que el input del mando no se detecta correctamente, provocando problemas como que el personaje no salte, o no se detenga (usando mando original de Xbox, y el pad direccional). Si fuese un juego de baja dificultad no sería tan problemático, pero tiene puntos que necesitan velocidad y precisión para ser resueltos, y lo que sería una experiencia desafiante, se convierte en frustración continua cuando el manejo no responde adecuadamente.
Aun así, le pongo nota positiva porque la historia está bien y es emotiva, y en el 80% del juego, no se requiere tanta precisión o velocidad en los controles.

A great game. Very difficult in places (though I am not a fan of boss fights or timed challenges). Clearly a lot of effort and love went into making it. Touching story.
Good story, good gameplay mechanics but this game is frustrating with its difficulty spike, I enjoy games with extreme difficulty curves but a lot of this was just annoyingly hard. Wouldn’t recommend unless “♥♥♥♥ you ima throw some stupid ♥♥♥♥ at you” difficulty is something you’re okay with
Horace é um jogo que tenta fazer diversas coisas diferentes, mas que nenhuma delas fica exatamente bem feito, sejam os minigames, a historia, ou os desafios de plataforma. Ainda assim é um jogo que tem bastante coração e que satisfaz quem gosta de plataforma.
Feel free to say "Skill issue" but there were parts of this game that were stupid hard for no reason.
That said, 10/10, I really enjoyed this game and couldn't put it down. It's funny, I actually only played it because I picked it randomly out of my library and it left a lasting impression on me.
I do recommend this game but sometimes playing I was wondering if the creator of the game had idea wtf he was doing. Some of puzzle solving moves have no logic. Some episodes are extremely difficult.

Rarely writing reviews but i think i should write about this one as this game deserve to be popular.
I expected this game to be another average platformer where you move from left to the right but got much more than that. Game is giving all sorts of genres and lots of pop culture references. There are might be moments where it seems unbeatable but just keep trying. The story is okay.
If you are into platformers - i don't think you will see anything new. But if you just want an experience without any big expectations and wanted to try a platformer after not playing them for the long time - i can definetly recommend this game.

One of the few games I've played that had likeable side characters in it! The game was pretty hard and got seriously rough at times because of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the controls and forced minigame sections, but listening to Horace and his text-to-speech voice continue the story was what drove me forward. I did enjoy the challenge though, when the game was reasonable. I also loved all the TV and movie references, I cracked a smile each time I caught something.
I also loved listening to the chiptune versions of classical pieces like 'Requiem' and 'Moonlight Sonata' to name a couple. Great OST and great story
If you like movies and are up for a challenge, I'd happily recommend Horace! Only if you're up for the challenge though.
◐Es un juego que yo considero un 9/10 y es uno de los mejores juegos que jugué en mi vida. Y el juego con la historia más hermosa de todos los videojuegos ofrece:
▪️La MEJOR historia de un videojugo que logré conocer. Una historia sobre un robot que es creado y educado por su algo anciano "Padre", quien le enseña bastante sobre la vida: Matemáticas, pirámides, monumentos y Douglas Adamas 💜. También, su padre, le dá una habitación con un televisor en donde el Robot vé películas de todo tipo, aunque lo que más le termina fascinando y encantando por sobre todo, son los videojuegos (algo que se va a mostrar bastante durante el juego). Esta historia también brinda una Montaña Russa de emociones y hasta puede hasta hacerte llorar si eres algo sensible. Es simplemente una historia hermosa y perfecta.
▪️Una jugabilidad bastante interesante y algo metrioid, donde al comienzo te dan dos habilidades conforme pasa la historia, pero luego tendrás que conseguir las demás habilidades en la mansión de tu "Padre", en donde según a qué jefes derrotes conseguirás la habilidad para pasar por otras zonas. En cuanto a los controles son muy cómodos y poco exigentes.
▪️Una dificultad bastante buena y desafiante en la que el juego si ve que mueres mucho te dará escudos, mi recomendación es lograr pasarse el juego sin usarlos, así podrás disfrutar más de él, pero cada uno juega como más le guste.
▪️Por último, si consigues tu objetivo en el juego antes de darlo por acabado (Ya que cuando terminas la historia puedes seguir jugando hasta que quieras ver el final) tendrás una cinemática extra y bastante emotiva. Yo recomiendo bastante, aunque cueste, lograr completar esa misión, la cinemática final lo vale.

まだ序盤だけどアクション自体は特別むずかしい感じではなく、試行錯誤しながら楽しめる範囲かと思います（他の方が書いてる通り、ステージ自体は全力で◯しにかかってくる）
ちなみにチュートリアルステージで家族の上をジャンプで飛び越えようとしたら字幕が出てこなくなりストーリーよく分かんなくなっちゃいました

上下反転が基本で結構なスピードで画面がぐるぐるするので画面酔いし易い方はやめたほうがいいと思います

This is a pretty weird, but ultimately very good - and genuinely unique - game. Think "Fez" meets "Jet Set Willy", with a [i]teeny bit[/i] of "Celeste". If you can make it through the first couple of hours (which are 80% unskippable cut-scenes, and can be pretty frustrating to start off...) then it eventually opens up into something really quite brilliant.
The platforming has been criticised for not being as tight as something like "Celeste", but this is because the play style is different; it's necessary to insert the right timing pauses to join up smaller segments of the full path through a level; I don't think this is weak level design, per se, but rather a direct and deliberate nod to the platforming style of "Jet Set Willy", which this game takes a LOT of inspiration from. It's tricky, but I didn't find it particularly difficult overall; the 'shields' mechanic takes care of parts where the difficulty could become annoying, and there's a nifty mechanic that automatically adjusts the boss fight difficulty by slowly shifting the auto-save point forwards, so you don't have to keep re-attempting the same boss wave over and over.
Yes: this game is flawed in places, and it's not for everyone, but if you give this game a chance, then it definitely has the ability to leave a lasting impression. Once it had worked its way into my brain, I found it absolutely un-put-downable, and it had me burning the midnight oil for several days, until I finally reached my target of 1 million items of junk and saw the true ending of the game.
You should definitely give it a shot; it very much deserves to be played by more people.

it feels so weird coming back to this game after 3 years and only now finishing it on 1,000,000 without remembering almost anything that happened in the game prior
i should replay it probably but im too lazy to do that. will do it in maybe like 3/4 years
the story is on the same level of oneshot, everhood, undertale and pony island, which is surprising that its as good as those when its not even meta, but its still emotional as with the mentioned
this game has great humor, it made me laugh atleast 15 times
the controls are really responsive, but the slide can be a bit annoying, especially in the air, and some rooms made me rage {which is normal for me that i rage at games} but other than that this game is perfect for what its supposed to be
i cant recommend this game enough. its sad that its not that known, but thats with a lot of gems
i dont know how much watching a playthrough would ruin the experience, but if possible, watch as little as you can.
This game is great. It has good variety, lots of (retro) gaming goodness, an interesting story, great puzzles. Love it.

I got this game back in 2019 and it was an amazing first steam game. I loved the story and the levels, this game should have a lot more sales
I'm writing a review in the hopes that it contributes to this game getting even a shred more visibility, because it deserves it like few others do. I'm honestly astonished it took me until a few months ago to even learn of this game's existence, like the quality on display here is up there with indie smash hits like Celeste, Pizza Tower, and Undertale. In almost every way a video game can be good (controls, storytelling, music, level design, character development, variety, game mechanics, setpieces, humor, worldbuilding, etc.), Horace excels. It is truly one of the most unique and engaging indie titles I've played in a while, especially in a genre as saturated as 2D platformers. It really is like a unification of Undertale's narrative and charm with Celeste's razor-sharp platformer design covered with a smattering of Gen X pop-cultural references while also bring a ton of its own very unique and hilarious ideas to the table.
Does it have faults? Of course, it's not Peggle. The camera will likely induce motion sickness in those susceptible to it. There are a LOT of cutscenes which, while they are in service of a really touching, funny, shockingly mature story, they do hurt the game's pace at times, particularly in the beginning and end. The music, while generally quite good, can be distracting at times for a variety of reasons (short loops, using the same song for like a quarter of the game, or just being bad (looking at you, Factoryton)). There is an enormous amount of backtracking near the end, and the game doesn't provide the proper exploration tools like a good map or fast travel to prevent it from growing boring after a while.
But these criticism are mere drops in the bucket compared to the sheer quality on display. Please, give this game a try. If you already have and you're reading the reviews to get validation for your opinions like I often do, then do everything you can to spread this game around. Art like this deserves the spotlight, and word of mouth is one of the best ways to put it there.

This game does not present itself in an engaging way. The tutorial section was insultingly redundant (did Mario teach you how to play? ♥♥♥♥ no.) and the cutscenes, while charming, are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ unskipable bloat. When you force me to do something, you make me less interested.
4/10 the graphics are good.
This is a good game with a well written story. Although a bit long it still has good mechanics and is still fun to play along with extra minigames.
EFF the timed zone!
It was a cute, relaxed, fun game until the bloody timed zone.
After 20 tries, the unforgiving 1-mistake-you're-dead-while-time-still-races-on, and the unforgivable inability to cancel out of ANY cutscene, it has been deleted.
If you're going to make it THAT bloody deadly and unforgiving, at least reset the time to when you entered the door.
I really liked it.

I really liked the platforming and there was a lot of creative stuff throughout, and the use of text to speech and Dorkly-ass graphics have a lot of cursed charm, but I didn't vibe with the story going all over the place and changing everything constantly. Some areas like the multiple stealth sections and a couple bosses were really unfun, especially the bosses since they're the only parts in the game that don't give you pity shields after dying enough, and the final boss in particular is actually one of the worst controlling things I've ever played. Overall though, still a unique experience I'd recommend checking out on a sale or bundle.

Et en y réfléchissant, je me rappelle y avoir joué quand même un moment… pour finir par ne plus le lancer. Ce qui met un peu la puce à l’oreille sur ce que je peux penser.
Je vais donc à postériori faire un petit condensé de mes souvenirs : on incarne donc Horace, un androïde qui vivra des aventures un poil mélancoliques au travers des âges. Qui ne serait pas sans rappeler « L’Homme bicentenaire » avec Robin Williams.
Le gameplay, sera basé essentiellement sur de la plateforme couplée à des mini-jeux, avec pour particularité que notre personnage peut marcher sur les murs et les plafonds, le décor suivant notre personnage (marcher sur un mur fait devenir ce mur le nouveau « sol »). Mécanique qui, s’il faut le souligner malgré tout, donne des idées vraiment intéressantes de puzzles avec la présence d’ennemis et également de boss.
La direction artistique mise tout sur sa rétro 2D, une jolie bande son et ses moultes références.
Parlons maintenant de ce qui ne va pas, ou en tout cas, de ce qui m’a moins été qui pourrait se résumer en un mot : laborieux : [list][*]Dans une introduction bien trop longue pour ce qu’elle raconte et les mécaniques qu’elle introduit.
[*]Des séquences de gameplay pas si exceptionnelles : aller retours dans différentes portes, ramassage de déchets, et mini-jeux… qui à mon sens asphyxient la fluidité.
[*]La narration par Horace qui arrive à accomplir l’exploit d’être atroce en plus d’être monocorde.
[*]Le problème des références, qui sont parfois trop marquées/nombreuses.[/list]
[b]En bref, Horace n’est jamais meilleur que dans ses lignes droites : son histoire et ses personnages qui sont plutôt touchants, son gameplay qui quand il ne s’égare pas est plutôt honnête… Et aurait gagné à se débarrasser du gras superflu. [/b]
