Read the other reviews. Don’t bother buying this game. The developers have abandoned it and all future releases. Fractions are locked even though you’ve bought the dlcs. Story is written by a 13 year old child. Do not waste your time.

Play the Originals, this is absolutely atrocious.

To make matters worse instead of staying to try fix their issues they just dipped.

To add insult to injury they locked the DLC factions you can buy behind their 'wargames' game mode and dont let you play them during skirmish matches (which is the main way to play homeworld)

I almost didn't buy this even though I love the other two games because of the terrible reviews and I have to say I am surprised.
I just don't get why there is so much negativity regarding this game , i think the graphics are excellent, even on my admitted under powered laptop and the story fits in well with the other games, so why all the hate?
In all honesty I don't quite get why it has had so much scorn for a game that I think is a very good game and I'm glad I took the chance and ignored the reviews.
The only theory I have is maybe it was released with a lot of issues and the version I've played is with all the bugs fixed, not sure but I can honestly say I think it looks great and plays great, so if you love the Homeworld series, then I think you should give it a chance and I don't think you will be dissapointed , I wasn't

No quería jugar al Homeworld 3 porque llevo más de 27 años con una gran sensación por el Homeworld 1...y no quería que se rompiese. Y no solo no lo ha hecho, sino que se ha incrementado tras jugar a éste título.
No sé porqué tiene tantas valoraciones negativas, no las he leído...pero si alguien no sabe de qué va esta saga...que no se hubiese metido.
Si quieres un Space Empire...un EVE...HW3 no es tu juego.
Para resumir...me ha encantado...es lo que recordaba del HW1.

Ich verstehe den Hate auf Homeworld 3 überhaupt nicht - gerade wegen diesem Hate hatte ich es mir lange Zeit nicht gekauft. Jetzt werde ich jedoch von dem Gegenteil überzeugt und bis sehr verwundert, warum es so negativ bewertet wird.

Ich finde die Cutscenes der Kampagne greifbar und sehr gut gelungen. Für ein RTS-Spiel ist die Synchronisation ebenfalls sehr gelungen. Der Charme der alten Homeworld-Teile geht visuell nicht verloren, ihm wird eher noch einer drauf gesetzt. Auch die Mechaniken ähneln ihren Vorgängern. "Ähneln" deshalb, weil sie nun einmal nicht zu 100% gleich sind, was aber auch nicht schlimm ist. Grundsätzlich finde ich die Herangehensweise mit einem Roguelike-Modus auch sehr gut, um neben den Gefechten Wiederspielbarkeit zu gewährleisten.

This game sucks, to call it a disappointment would be an understatement. I had REALLY high hopes for this installment. I won't get into what most people are saying, instead this is a personal complaint. I really wanted to be able to do a co-op campaign with my friend, we loved playing HW2 but we secretly wished for a campaign we could play together, they had so much potential to work with and utterly wasted it on a weak story. War Games were an interesting concept, albeit a flop just like the game's campaign. If you're buying this expecting Homeworld, you will be shocked and not in a good way, they certainly don't deserve to be selling the game at the price they are. 100% would refund if I could.

The game is visually top notch, gameplay is smooth and easy to cope with, audio effects and radio chatter are also in good shape, but the characters and behavior are something out of Homeworld league, horrible, just horrible.

I do recommend this game for the sake of the franchise, but not for the characters and story.

The fact their still selling this game after abandoning it so fast is shameless. The game will forever now be a husk left rotting under the shadow of Era One.

The only thing that stands out about this game other then its poor game play feel is the fact I cant tell if this is one of those games that hates beautiful women or not-

On one hand the male characters all look perfectly normal, and some times the female characters look ok...
But on the other hand most of the time they look so bad, so misshaped I can hardly look at them, I cant tell if its the long hair being placed badly or perhaps the lips size and facial construction or other issues or perhaps all in combination but something is very wrong with how they look, if I was to compare them I would say they both look like badly made Clones and the fact the male characters all look fine make it feel intentional.

I guess the base way I can put it is they feel like they fall deep into the uncanny valley, almost human... nearly... but you still get that vibe somthing is just not right.

Never played the previous Homeworlds. But I really enjoyed the singleplayer campaign. I honestly liked that if you barely made it out of the last level you need spend time rebuilding. If you don't feel like it you can always select to have a "Default fleet".

As for ships wondering off as other people say. It's mostly ships on aggressive stance.

但更细致的特效和建模细节，更优秀的画面效果，确实给人带来了特别的游戏体验。
但过场CG真的很粗糙，如此宏大的希格拉银河史诗却只剩下了这样的小家子气故事，很平庸。
BUG很多，很多舰船都有各种各样的问题，交互，索敌，寻路，全是bug。
但这确实是我最喜欢的银河RTS星战史诗游戏，我喜欢这个系列，希望还能有下一部作品吧。
这个题材还是太过稀缺了，还是珍惜吧。

Por jugabilidad deja algo que desear, las naves me parecen casi iguales, lo cual le quita magia. las funciones a activar manualmente, se podría haber ahorrado la mitad porque en una gran batalla no estás para ir dando de los comandos uno a uno..., se han centrado en lo que a mi parecer no es lo que un jugador HW espera.
La historia podría estar mejor, pero bueno, bien. Los videos, de verdad, ese pelo ... se ha pasado con la laca? no lo aguanto.
Formas de juego fuera de la historia, muy pensadas para juegos online, pero claro, para eso primero hay que enganchar. Ya quedó claro con los anteriores mods de los HW lo que esperábamos: diversidad de juego, grandes mapas, batallas épicas... y de eso nos han dado poco o nada.
Gráficos geniales, es lo único por lo que volvía a probar el juego, pero ya me cansó. Esperé a conseguirlo por 10€ después de las críticas iniciales sobre todo lo que a día de hoy puedo confirmar.

你说得对，但是三个女主就一个老太太长得像人。剧情更是莫名其妙。本作优点就只有家园系列的科幻画风，其他全是槽点。战役有的关卡做的也是莫名其妙，玩起来难受。后期解锁战列舰和巡洋战列舰直接无脑通。只适合买KEY，不适合花高价钱直接购入。活该把自己作死了，神了。家园系列就此完结，成为路边一条了。

After the reviews I was prepared for the awful writing - what I wasn't expecting was broken and absent basic features. Units don't keep formation, wandering off during battle and getting completely scattered. It's impossible to see from the UI where selected units are. Shift-click does not deselect a unit, so trying to break them up into squads of specific numbers is an absolute chore. Escort orders are taken as vague suggestions.

Losses are irrelevant because you have so many resources thrown at you from the start. If you're taking some time at the end of a mission to fix and reorganise your forces the Intel guy will constantly remind you you're supposed to be jumping out. That's when you're allowed time - frequently you will be forced to jump out after you've taken control of the area and are denied a chance to tidy up your forces and are thrown straight into the next combat zone as if no time went by. There appears to be no rhyme or reason to when you're allowed to choose to jump vs missions where it happens automatically.

There's a mission where you have to move through an asteroid field but the navigation and formations are so bad you have little control over where anyone goes so everyone just walks into death for no reason. Bizarrely my highly maneouverable interceptors seemed most incapable of avoiding slow building-sized rocks. I gave up trying to use the gimmicky "hide behind the big asteroids" mechanic and just told everyone to beeline for the exit point.

It's pretty, I'll give it that. Though that said, all the mist and particles and lens flare just further detracts from the readability of the game. The aesthetic is overall fine but very dull. I couldn't tell you the actual shape of any particular ship - compared with the ships from the first one which I could probably draw from memory. They nailed the Homeworld-esque radio chatter, that's about the only unqualified complement I can pay.

Mothership has the main bay on the underside which serves to just hide away all the cool docking/undocking moments that were made a big deal of in the earlier games. I want my banana back.

You're thrown into missions as if you missed the briefing. Literally, you'll be in command of a special strike group and get one line about what's going on and feel like you must have skipped a scene where they described what on Earth is going on. They invested a shocking amount of time and energy into telling a story about psychic women arguing in a hyperspace dream vision in this scifi military game but spent no energy telling any stories about what is even happening in the scifi military game.

All the megastructures are just distracting. They make the mothership feel small and unimportant and add so little gameplay options that it's no fun. They repeatedly try to craft missions where cover and tunnels are relevant but it's usually easier to just ignore.

I could go on. An extraordinary swing and a miss. Someone with all the wrong ideas clearly got their claws into this and pulled it way off course. Crushingly disappointing end to a once-great franchise.

Allein wegen der Schlachtfeldatmosphäre ist das Spiel schon super. Zusammen mit dem sehr guten Soundtrack, intensiven Waffensounds und der gigantischen Levelarchitektur.

Die Story kann sich auch sehen lassen, die mit hochwertigen Cutscenes daherkommt und super synchronsprecher zu bieten hat.

Die Steuerung ist Echtzeitstrategiestandart und leicht zu erlernen und man kann durch die Pausetaste jederzeit den Überblick über die Schlachten behalten. Auch wenn teilweise in den letzten Missionen dennoch viel Übersicht flöten geht, weil die Gegner echt Zahlreich werden.

Also allein für die Kampagne lohnt sich das Spiel schon, gerade wenn es im Angebot ist =)

Ayant joué aux jeux Homeworld (sauf Emergence), je suis assez déçu par le scénario qui n'est pas à la hauteur des autres jeux de la série.

Graphiquement, il y a énormément eu d'effort dans la modélisation des vaisseaux et de l'environnement, mais pas assez dans les cinématiques. Gros point positif pour les efforts de mise à l'échelle en 3D. On se sent vraiment minuscule par rapport aux super-structures.

D'autant plus que le lien entre les protagonistes n'est pas expliqué clairement, on ne comprends pas si Kharran est la mère, la grand-mère ou la mentor de Imogen.

Les musiques sont biens, mais "The Begining" est repris trop souvent dans des cinématiques qui n'ont rien à voir avec le but de cette musique (qui était jouée pour représenter le début d'une nouvelle ère pour les Kushan d'Homeworld 1, mais qui est utilisée ici pour des évenements lambda).

Petite nouveauté, la présence d'un mode PVE, appelé Jeux de Guerre, en coopération avec d'autres joueurs. Le concept est bien, mais à la date de publication de cet avis, il n'y a plus de joueurs en ligne dans ce mode. Il devient donc très difficile d'effectuer ces missions seuls dans un mode prévu pour 4 joueurs et dont la difficulté des ennemis ne varie pas en fonction des joueurs.

La jouabilitée et les commandes sont correctes.

La fin est extrémement décevante. Vous comprendrez...

Par contre, en jouant hors-ligne, je n'arrive pas à synchroniser mes succès Steam une fois reconnecté.

It's a reasonably sound low TTK space tactical RTS that features a lot of cool toys (ships, turrets, mines, etc) that you can play around with to defeat your enemies. In addition there are a variety of upgrades and different ship limits in place allowing players the opportunity to run fleet setups that are different from what other players might use in their playthroughs.

The near-pause system they have in place allows players plenty of time to get the lay of the land and make surgical decisions around what your fleet is doing.

Campaign might start out rudimentary at first, but it doesn't take long for the enemy to start fighting dirty as missions go on. For example, don't be surprised if a seemingly easy to defeat fleet of ships pop in looking for a fight only to call in reinforcements that warp in behind you right as your forces are about to engage.

Alors je mettrai bien un pouce bleu pour la nostalgie des précédents, moi qui ai joué au premier du nom et qui ai adoré. Mais malgré tout je comprend la déception des autres joueurs tant les attentes après tant d'années sont grande. Dès les premières minutes, en qualité graphique "épique" on en prend plein les yeux, sans être réaliste c'est beau, les unités sont joliment modélisées. Les vidéos ponctuant le scénario sont correctes mais pas exceptionnelles. La musique est très belle et la narration agréable. MAIS,
Dommage, le scénario est bof. Je n'ai rien ressenti, ni urgence, ni tristesse, contrairement à la scène où le commandement prend la décision d'éjecter le pont inférieur du vaisseau mère dans Cataclysm, pont infecté et mettant en péril l'intégralité de l'équipage. Le comportement des unités...je n'ai jamais autant pesté de vive voix sur un jeu, j'ao du y passer trois fois plus de temps pour épargner des capitaines de navire incompétents, aveugles, ou suicidaires... Certains disent que les chasseurs sont trop fragiles...oui c'est frustrant de perdre des escadrons à la pelle, mais pour moi c'est réaliste. Les cartes sont belles, mais je rejoins certains, trop de superstructures, on est censé être dans l'espace ! Et où est passée la 3D ? Navigation sur un plan, c'est des planeurs...Et encore, on commence sur la planete mère, pas d'effet particulier lié à la gravité... Pas de doublage non plus... je peux pas suivre l'action et lire en même temps ça casse l'immersion. Des choix étranges aussi, tirés partiellement de l'original, mais vers le bas... je peux stocker dans mon vaisseau mère des dizaines de destroyers et de frégates construites/capturées...par contre pas question de la faire rentrer temporairement pour réparation...une fois dehors c'est jusqu'à la mort ! Les formations sont anecdotiques, au final on finis par faire des groupes mono unité parce la formation ne met pas les troupes cohérentes à l'avant... Après à petit prix faut l'essayer.. mais malgré que je sois fan de la franchise, après coup, je n'y aurai pas mis 10€.

战役打完了，画面不错，操作方式默认的现代方式自由度最高，关卡设计因为基本都是围绕巨构搭建，场景变小了，感觉是为了加强冲突和加快节奏，适应迎合现代人阈值高没耐心，挺好，但是巨构作用不明显，可能是自己还没深入测试，基本每关战斗都比较紧凑。剧情实在是太俗太zzzq,没啥意思，好好的太空神秘宿命恢宏氛围变成了两人斗嘴，感觉都不如前传沙漠刁民塑造的那种神秘宿命感，如果一定要对比形容就和光环电视剧一样，头盔摘的过早太随意，过场动画的人物也太丑太zzzq了，一直到结局动画后的字幕时的插画才有原系列的感觉。

Is the game broken or just bad? Nothing works properly, units don't respond to movement commands, formations don't work properly, selecting units as a group often doesn't work if they are different types. There are almost no customization options for units, if any, and only one or two updates per unit. You can't even do anything with the mothership. The developers didn't put any effort into this game at all.

The moment to moment gameplay is just as fun as any of the other HW games. I haven't finished it yet, but they seem to have taken a fairly "tell, don't show" approach to the storytelling, to their detriment. The plot elements in the previous games were heavily implied, and it really felt like a light touch. Now they all say obvious things, and things in particular that don't make sense for the characters to say. A lot of the writing is cliche, too, sometimes to a painful extent (officer guy being a hardass, imogen having to search within herself to overcome/using the strength of her mother, sands and sinners x 10, etc). On the other hand, the little unit voice overs are fantastic, and the music is actually beautiful in parts. Also graphically excellent. I would give it a recommendation, at a discount.

Always a good game...Ive played all Homeworld games. Just getting started this, but the felling is good. Great mechanics, graphics and plot!

I think ill love it till the end!

Look...
I really like previous Homewords, mostly because they are complicated and need you to think what you do.
Also because they treat you like a fully functioning adult that can learn and make decisions.

This game... even tutorial treats you like you were an Idiot.
And when i saw how mindless the starfights are i gave up.
What happened to units dogeing and tryint not to get hit? now they just fly straight at enemy, shooting, turn around and do the same again until one side dies...

It's a decent game, its just "meh" compared to the prequels.

Pros:
- it is still a Homeworld game
- every mission is different
- the gameplay is dumbed down (which is good action-wise)
- decent tension

Cons:
- The characters' animation look like taken from a Pixar movie which makes the villain cartoonish
- the gameplay is dumbed down (which is bad for those seeking extensive strategic experience)
- managing the movement of the whole fleet can be frustrating especially in the final mission

Es hat großen Spaß gemacht! Die Grafik ist der wahnsinn, ebenso die Vertonung. Ja, die Story ist weniger episch und weniger technisch /SiFi, eher Drama. Dennoch packend. Die sehr schlechten Rezensionen sind schlicht übertrieben. Man kann sich auch reinsteigern. Tolle Schlachten in (zugegeben) Schlauchartigen Leveln. Insgesamt für den Casual Player eine 7,5/10 für Homeworld Veteranen eine 6/10.

Only played the campaign. I dont have the heart to bother with the other stuff.
HW3 had to do 2 things to work:

- Be a functional/good UX RTS set in space
- Capitalise on the existing art/lore/vibe of HW1/2

I dont think its unfair to say it didnt complete either of those goals.

As an RTS. Its not great. Managing units is jank, alot of the details/tactics are basically out of your control and random, and the RPS elements go out the window and you just sort of make a blob, pick a formation that looks about right and hope it works out.

The control scheme is weird - hotkeys are all over the place (hold P and scroll mousewheel? Alt+, What? How is that a hotkey combo that makes sense), camera controls are clearly built around a flat RTS not a space game, no easy way to replenish units (I swear I spent half this game carefully trying to balance out my ~blobs~ fleets.

Pathfinding is poor, they added a bunch of terrain to the game and 'tunnels' which makes it worse. One level even plays exclusively around pathfinding through an asteroid field and I watched ships just drive straight into an oncoming asteroid. How we all laughed as 4 frigates shooting an asteroid passing safely below them - got utterly destroyed by the oncoming rock they could have just stopped and let pass. On top of that your units will swing between chasing stuff down out of formation and getting picked off, or being fixated on the formation despite the need to just run away.

Microing is a no go, selecting units often ends up clicking 'mini blobs' or every unit type on the map.

Fighters are just fodder beyond level 5.
There is only 1 (one) corvette which is also fodder.

The sense of scale in the game is weird. Ships get marginally bigger but not really that big, and all the unit ranges are hilariously short for a space game.

The story feels like imature fan fiction compared to HW1/2
The ship design is either copy paste from the first game (fine) or they just scaled up the frigate, and your largest unit is tiny compared to previous games.

I got it for £2
Campaign took me 13 hours of frustration, restarts, and laughing in despair at the ending.
and Honestly I'd pay £2 to get my 13 hours back.

剧情游玩结束了，有没有和我一样没有生产任何一条驱逐舰全靠用资源采集船跳帮抢化身舰队的？到了最后一关我抢了二十来条化身驱逐舰，提坦就像个小丑。我认为剧情挺好的，虽然稍微有点瑕疵，但是兄弟们，这年头政治正不正确的游戏真的太少见了，剧情党的我综合来看我觉得值得玩。

Абсолютно неоправданный хейт к игре. Да это не первые игры от реликов, но и не гов.но к которому не хочется прикасаться. Твердая 7ка. Кампания могла бы быть побольше, это да.
Много самых разных кораблей, красивейшая графика и атмосфера первых частей.
За фулпрайс все таки не стоит а вот по скидочке то что нужно для любителей красивых ртс.

I was so disappointed by this that I forgot to actually leave a review.

Since when is homeworld a soap opera?

I like stories of empires, not people full of self doubt and "misunderstood" antagonists. To top it all off, I'm supposed to just believe a misunderstanding absolves space Genghis Khan of the genocidal war she was waging???

Homeworld also has always been about 3D RTS movement, and while the 3D movement still technically exists, the controls and mechanics pushes you towards controlling and sometimes fighting units as they hug enormous space structures. It was a neat idea but building the entire game around it turned what have been a nice mechanic into a cheap gimmick as it devalued the 3D movement considerably.

Gearbox, don't change the formula of a franchise, make a new one next time and leave homeworld to homeworld.

Great mission design and best in class sound design really elevate the moment to moment gameplay. There's quite a bit of tactical depth added by using giant objects as "terrain" and it also makes the actual movement and fleet management quicker as you don't have to use the classic movement disc nearly as often. The coop War Games mode is a ton of fun as well. Great for short, high intensity sessions.

The story is rather middling, but not nearly as bad as people claim. It is, however, the largest mis-step in the entire game and the only thing keeping it from being an all-timer in the franchise.

The moment to moment gameplay is great (my personal favorite in the franchise as a veteran who played the first game on release) and it's definitely worth a purchase on sale if you haven't tried it.

Got it for less than 10 bucks. Only played the campaign and its just alright. Biggest positives are the graphics, space backgrounds, cutscenes, atmosphere and the music. Campaign is kinda short and gameplay it self is ok but I dont feel its worth the full asking price.

Hope you feel like reading a little mini-book!

I used to run a half decent Homeworld YouTube channel where I did some lore analysis and deep dives into Deserts of Kharak, the Homeworld "prequel". I have been a lifetime fan of Homeworld -- it was *formative* to my game tastes, media tastes, and the kinds of stories I enjoyed as time went on.

My channel got to the point where I was invited to the studio, and I gladly bought a flight across the country to go hang out at BBI. They're great, incredible, passionate folks.

I doubt you will, but if you see this, Rory, I still remember the dinner and chat we had after hanging out at the office all day. I appreciate it and the time you, Rob, Yggy, and the whole team took with a dumb silly fan who ran a youtube channel. It means a lot.

So DOK released, I covered it for a bit, but the scene quietly died quickly. It's a small RTS game, makes sense.

This whole time, I'd also been running the Homeworld Discord server, which later BBI (and Gearbox) asked to turn into the official one. I had long since been working at a company as a community manager, so my time I could spend on Homeworld has shrunk quite a lot. Despite that, I was still a big fan, and was more than happy to hand over the Discord.

They announced HW3, I got super excited, and found out that they were doing it sorta Kickstarter-style. You could buy big packages on a site called Fig. I backed HW3 at the maximum level I could -- a thousand bucks!! -- because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I couldn't wait to hear Ruskay's music again, or hear the zoom out sound in sensor view again, or hear fleet command desperately call for hyperspace one more time just so I could get another tiny slice of lore delivered via gorgeous animatics and incredible writing about a tragedy happening at inconceivable scales.

So, yeah. I got to participate in a few surveys, saw a few previews. That's about it.

Weirdly, Fig spun down after a bit. A year or two later the site went defunct. We really didn't get updates anymore. I didn't think much of it.

Either way. The game eventually released in May 2024, and it's currently January 2026. It has been nearly two years since HW3 launched. I doubt anyone is going to read this to make a decision to buy the game or not, but my recommendation is pretty clearly indicated by the big thumbs down above this review.

I guess it's taken me this long to be convinced that it's just going to be like this forever. I was hoping that they'd come back, redo the story. Ride in, knight in shining armor and say "ha, just kidding, we totally fixed everything. Here's a 30 hour campaign for free with gorgeous animatics and even more lore about everything you loved. The old story is retconned. Have fun."

But... nah. Game's dead. No updates. They got deluged with poor reviews -- not a review bomb, rightfully bad reviews -- and said "nope, we're out." They speedran the DLC -- all of which was for the "War Games" mode that nobody asked for -- and ducked out. If you buy this, you will never get an update again.

Also, some of the people that were pivotal in making it happen aren't at BBI anymore. I don't know how to interpret that.

I just kinda wish I knew what went wrong. I know the team at BBI could pull it off. I know they had the spirit, the mind, the creativity, and the drive to do it. I still can't believe that what came out is the unmolested, untouched vision from the team. I don't know what happened, but I wish I did. A story, setting, universe that was formative for me and that I still adored... but it got this. It didn't deserve this.

Anyhow. If you want a decent representation of my opinion on Homeworld 3, MandaloreGaming did a great job on YouTube. tl;dr: This story isn't Homeworld. I can't see it, it doesn't fit. It points at the color red and says "this is blue." It's just wrong.

I earnestly and honestly hope the BBI team is doing well, and I hope whoever at Gearbox shoved their greasy little hands into a project they lied about loving -- RANDY -- stubs their toe nightly for the rest of their life.

Maybe in twenty years they'll try again.

21 years after Homeworld 2 came out, 25 years after Homeworld 1 came out, Gearbox moved heaven and earth to publish Homeworld 3.

Unfortunately, it also published Homeworld 3 with an insultingly juvenile story that does a disservice to all of the previous games, the likes of which belongs in YA Fanfic written by novices. The gameplay has significant issues that I think could have been fixed, but the story would have to be replaced wholesale. On some level, I can't really believe that the story was THIS bad.

Feels like a very big let down. The game was very short, there was... a plot? The feel of the game wasn't the best. Just seems like when companies take too long to make the perfect sequel it turns out to be just a bummer. Was not worth the price. Just felt like an overdue DLC

I paid £2 for this I ain't even joking and I still Feel it wasn't worth that price I can't get into it the controls are god awful I struggle to navigate in the world it feels so bad I try messing between legacy and modern it doesn't help the UI on the ships for building are also awful like its the year 2024 this game came out feels like it should have come out in the 90s with these controls

Судя по красному рейтингу, ожидал я гораздо худшего. Речь, конечно, про кампанию, потому что МП мне тут не особо интересен.

Сюжетно наблюдаемая в течение почти 10 часов порнография про трех не очень удовлетворенных жизнью женщин ближе всего к Катаклизму. Тоже нет эпика первой части, тоже в конце сидит бабайка, на этом, в общем, и все. Талантов сельских писарей, отвечавших за это недоразумение, хватило лишь на бестолковые разговоры ни о чем. Ни размаха, ни надрыва, такого, чтоб как в финале Homeworld 1, разумеется, нет.

Ну да ладно, главное, что кораблики летают в настоящем 3D, пуляют друг в друга лучами смерти и погибают, раскрываясь пионами сочных взрывов. Что еще надо? Действительно, кому нужны все эти тактики, построения и прочая чепуха - наклепал побольше крейсеров, эсминцев, ионных и/или ракетных фрегатов, подвесил сзади 15 фрегатов-ремонтников - и утюжишь всю местность. Медленно и печально.

Во-первых, поражает нежелание космических скитальцев делать то, что им прикажут. Постоянно куда-то отваливаются, отвлекаются, дают задний ход зачем-то, так что играть не танковым C&C-кулаком практически бессмысленно или даже невозможно. Сборщики ресурсов норовят залезть в самые опасные места, а истребители с вертушки влетают в утыканные ПВО пространства. Поэтому тупо делишь флот на две части - первая (см. состав выше) - летает по важным делам, вторая изо всех сил (что осталось - может, 1 крейсер до кучи) сторожит материнский корабль. Главное по кд прожимать кнопки строительства новых кораблей, о ресурсах уже с середины игры почти не приходится переживать.

Во-вторых, карты микроскопические. Конечно, корабли передвигаются с черепашьей скоростью, а опции ускорения не дали (хотя дали опцию замедления - будто тут тактика какая-то нужна, приколисты!), но вся местность, как правило, лежит как на ладони. Да, тут есть гигасооружения, в которых есть тоннели, но природные особенности ответственных за их реализацию людей не позволили им создать что-то вменяемое, поэтому обычно часть кораблей ныряет в эти засадные норы, а вторая часть решает облететь все это по внешнему периметру, попутно попадая под слаженный огонь укрывшихся в космических кустах врагов.

Играть, в общем, скучно. Просто (потому что вражеский ИИ туп и полагается исключительно на скрипты, которые и подбрасывают ему подкрепления), раздражающе (потому что союзный ИИ еще тупее) и скучно. Но тут важно понимать, что некоторые забыли, а многие, наверное, никогда и не знали, что в ремастерах Homeworld "подправили" тоже не в лучшую сторону, но возмущений было куда меньше.

В целом, я надеялся на что-нибудь хотя бы в духе первой части или катаклизма, а получил какую-то "рабыню Изауру" про краба на галерах, которая почему такая злая раньше была? А потому что у нее велосипеда не было.

I havent played any of the other games so I have no baggage when reviewing this one...

IMO the gameplay I've had was fun and I'll happily play again, I don't really understand why others are upset about it, but then again, haven't played the earlier games as already stated.

This feels like someone read a brief overview of the homeworld lore and made a game off that. It feels soulless and poor imitation of what the series used to be.

I'm trying so hard to get into the campaign I used to love these games, but the story is so bad and the characters so weak. I can barely play either, every few seconds (literally on some missions) I am being interrupted by another f'ing cutscene or explanation of something I can already see happening where the controls are taken away from me. I tabbed out of one of the missions to write this review because I was so fed up of not being able to play during the 6 or 7th time in the first 10 minuets of mission 3? to be spoon fed.

I paid less than £10 for this and that still feels like too much.

Для тих, хто виріс на попередніх частинах — грати обов'язково. Наче повернувся в старі часи, тільки з крутою картинкою. Дуже задоволений!
