Some rewiews mention the game is grindy. This is a big understatement, this is way above the usual TD grindyness. This is the kind of ultra-grind you'd expect from an free game with in app purchase (there is none here).
The gameplay is extremely limited and repetitive. Basically you have max 5 heroes (towers) and depending on the maps either lets them in place or rush them from point A to point b to face the different waves of enemies. Then you basicly replay the same levels over and over again to level up your heroes and village.
Avoid this is just a time waster with very limited skills involved.

The moving tower defense mechanic which are your heroes in this game is genuinely a good feature. it is fresh and adds a great layer of strategy to each mission. The different heroes are also well-designed — each one deals significantly more damage to certain types of enemies, and the way their attack patterns interact with those enemies is really well implemented. For example, when a hero focuses on area-of-effect damage, the game smartly spawns enemy groups that come in larger numbers but with lower health, which makes fights feel dynamic and satisfying.
That said, the grinding for upgrades feels unnecessary and only serves to slow down the pacing. It would’ve been much better if the upgrade grind was introduced after finishing the main story, so it could serve as a way to extend the gameplay rather than pad it out.
After a certain point, heroes become so powerful that strategy barely matters — it doesn’t really make a difference who’s attacking what anymore. The early part of the game is also quite slow; it takes a few missions before you even get access to most of your towers (heroes), which can make the opening feel like a slog.
Finally, the in-game economy is tedious and frustrating to deal with. It feels like unnecessary busywork that gets in the way of the fun parts of the game.
Overall, it’s a solid experience, great core mechanic — but it’s held back by grindy progression and a slow start. it’s good in concept but lacks in execution.

Surprisingly well-made Tower Defense game with some fun Halloween vibes. It's a mixy title and was always, but I remember liking it a lot.
Surreal but this developer did some moonlighting with this title by basically r34ing it and releasing it elsewhere... and is now abandonware. I kind of wish that version was also on Steam.
It's a serviceable Tower Defense. Maybe it wasn't fancy, but the developer clearly liked and understood the genre. I would say it's more about atmosphere and grind than strategy. It's like how some indie developers will make their game isometric just to make it manageable, when it really isn't RTS or ARPG or CRPG or so on. It's a little like that. You don't have the building you have in a normal TD game. Instead, the heroes can be upgraded in different ways.
I liked it. It's Halloween themed, but also has a lighter tone. Fair seasonal game.
I don't mind the grind for this game. Back tracking through other levels to progress is great. What I do mind is that there are achievements that can never be obtainable without using a third party application. Absolutely terrible... for my achievement hunting.

This isn't a bad game, but I found the investment of time to boost my characters wasn't worth it, given the difficulty spike as I moved through. There is very light story, and the characters feel a little 2D, even though the art is enjoyable. If you love TD and MOBA mechanics and games, this might be one to sink you teeth into, for the mechanics. I found it a bit punishing, and not quite worth the full price tag.
More a "meh" then a negative. I got the game on a heavy (95% off) sale, and so don't feel bad about the money or time I've spent on it. But I also don't feel the desire to keep playing after only a few hours. If this wasn't a mobile port, it was at least heavily inspired by them. All the way down to having "gems" to buy things. At least in this version you get the gems with in-game gold.
Game itself is ok. Newer team or smaller budget issues. Story is a thing, but more corny than good. Moving the heros (your "towers") about is a twist on the standard TD formula, but feels like just moving them in a clump is the best option all the time. So gets old quickly. Then the game wants more grinding than I feel is worth it.
Worth checking ok on a deep sale as something different, but not worth it full price.

This is not a really bad game - the main problem for me with this game is that this is most probably port from an android app. You can feel that by using the interface, you can see that from the screenshots. And this plays like every other mobile tower defense game. All those td games look and play identical, it's like the same game with yet another skin. They quickly get boring, they all follow similar structure, level & tower progression and so on. The game is not very complex and won't surprise you with anything original or innovative. And on pc, on steam - you can find tens of much better td games, offering different spins on the genre and much deeper complexity. So why should anyone waste time for this one?

This game is not worth $30, and quite frankly even though I got it at a 95% off sale for $1.50 I am still unsure if that was worth it
The people who made this must be literally retarded. they have done no playtesting whatsoever. this game was obviously made for the annoy-you-until-you-pay-them mobile phone game market. but then for whatever reason they had to sell it on PC. These 'tards locked the endless mode behind the multiplayer then removed their multiplayer servers. there is effectively no more endless mode.
Many many levels are almost unbeatable due to poorly designed hero abilities and terribly implemented wave design synergyzing horrifically.
None of the hero abilities trigger the correct amount which leads me to believe these 'tards made many whopping mistakes in their code.
The base game is also tedious and the movement of the characters unwieldy largely due to multiple lanes being on a map.
This was so badly designed in almost every way no wonder it failed miserably.
ONLY get this on one of the 95% off sales and even then consider carefully and read the guides for it.

HERO DEFENSE is an unusual twist on the tower defense genre, a console ported TD game where instead of towers, you have heroes who can move between each node. So while the TD gameplay is all there, gameplay itself is less about choosing which towers and more about deciding which hero is best at which node at any given time... so it's more like a juggling act than a strategy game. You only get 5 heroes and they have different strengths vs different enemies, so you have to do a bunch of platespinning to make sure you can kill the creeps as they travel on their preset paths.
This isn't fun, this kind of takes one of the core, most fun elements of the TD genre and throws it out the window.
From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
The game features low-polygon "retro" assets with cartoony, mobile app style shader effects, making this look like a barely functional mobile app from 15 years ago. This visual style is a method that lazy devs often use when they have a lack of interest/capabilty to create highly detailed, high poly models and instead use shader effects to disguise that shortcoming under the name of "art", or "We made it look bad on purpose", which really isn't something gamers should have to put up with. It's unclear why the developers weren't willing to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets and high resolution textures for the game. It's far below the state of the art visuals gamers expect as a result of their decisions.
The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just iPhone screen tapping stuff as you tap a hero then tap the node you want them to go to. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here.
Because this is designed for consoles, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the inferior console gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the console-centric developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for consoles forces upon a game. Once more, console peasants have made gaming worse for everyone.
Worse than just being a console port, this is indistinguishable from a mobile app, but they put this on Steam and consoles instead of the app stores by mistake. Was it rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all)?.
Regardless, for all intents and purposes HERO DEFENSE might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a modest spike in player counts for the game. But this only happened once, around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.
So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?
This is the kind of game I might have given a "maybe" to, but the developers ridiculous pricing has ruined all goodwill, to the point I must try to warn gamers away.
HERO DEFENSE has the farcical price of $30 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.
For comparison, the $30 asking price for this game could get you games like "Disco Elysium", "Stellaris" or "Final Fantasy XIV Online". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. This pricing is just ridiculous.

Es un juego largo (unas 25-30 horas), completarlo al 100% requiere mucho grindeo. Por otro lado, originalmente tenía un modo multijugador en línea, que ya no es posible acceder, puesto que los servidores cerraron hace tiempo. A pesar de ello resulta un juego bastante sólido y entretenido.

Classic Hero-Tower Defense. Little bit clunky for nowadays standard but still very fun to play.
All time peak for this game was 208. That blows my mind cause this game is probably my favourite TD game ever! Deserves way more love! <3
It's a really mixed bag, but in the end I an enjoying it.
It looks very polished, and has a very professional feel.
The graphics are cartoony, but in a good way but don't expect a game full of monsters to feel spooky, it is way too cute. For example, although the first character is a buff hero type (whose father is the main villain), and the second an old holy man(whose wife is either dead or missing), the third is oddly a sassy little girl.(With no story apparently.)
(Probably a coincidence, but she looks like a young version of the zombies she specializes in.)
The animation is also well done, though usually pretty small.
The sound is okay, the music is nice. The voice acting is... meh. Sometimes the emphasis is off, and I really can't tell if the mayor character is supposed to be a good guy or not. The game also has the odd habit of giving the characters cute or interesting things to say, but they get repetitive very fast, and very annoying.
The game play is rather deceptive, they claim tower-defense, but it doesn't really quite feel like one. You have a few characters that would normally be the towers, but there are only a handful, and you constantly have to move them about.
If I were to make a suggestion for a follow up, it would be to allow each hero type to build apprentice-towers, that stay in place and get leveled up, it would feel less busy.
The UI is already a bit of a mess, and character upgrades require you take your eye off the action for a few often critical seconds as you check your currency total, then decide which person to level up if you have enough.
Between levels there is a town with upgrades that all you to bolsters your heroes. I only have two so far, an academy, where you buy upgrades from a rather small upgrade tree, the other is an armory where you can upgrade your weapons, and use magical icons to design what skill-bumps you get when you level.
All in all a pretty neat system.
Also the maps can be replayed on a higher level to get extra stars, so there seems to be a reasonable amount of game here.
I would say the map is one of the weak points for me. Moving your point of view around is awkward, and the mouse is used both move the map, and move my characters, not a good choice. Not sure why the map isn't WASD, it would be much better.
Oh, that reminds me, there are tactical options, and QWER picks them for you, but they could have easily used 1234.
I do feel like there is something not quite right however. I am a veteran of TD games, which this is adjacent too, but the levels come within estimate of how difficult a map should be for you, and it's wacky. Sometimes it says 'no problem' and it is easy, other times it says 'no problem' and I get defeated. Very confusing, and it makes me feel that perhaps the levels aren't as well balanced as the designers might think they are.
Lastly I want to mention that the game did have multi-player and co-op, but apparently the developers have shut the servers down, so that isn't happening.
Also, according to the comments, one of the achievements is no longer possible, Endless Mode. I know some people are serious abut want to complete them all, so that might be a deal breaker for some.
All in all though, it seems a good package. Got it on a good sale, and it was easily worth the buck and a half I paid.
Two thumbs up.
ADDENDUM: 31 hours to complete the basic campaign, and while I cannot deny the reviews that mention grinding, I never found it oppressive. The game has a lot of ways to play it, and a lot of things to upgrade. Plus there seems to be more, and I am, for now, still interested in pushing forward.

I bought this game looking for a solid tower defense style game, and it is pretty good in many aspects however the game is not made out to be what it says it is. I bought the game heavily discounted at 90% off yesterday and while i enjoyed playing some of it it is evident that it's not what its marketed out to be. The endless mode with procedurally generated levels and such is completely removed from the game from what I have seen. The store page tells of it, and the forums, but the game doesn't have it. Online is completely disabled as they have shut down their servers. So the tag "online" is not accurate. I feel mislead by the developers that they have not updated their store page to reflect this, because this game is not what it used to be when it was launched.
All in all though for 3 bucks i guess its a decent hours of fun but the replayability totally went down the drain with the removal of endless mod and the grind is evident, it gets really steep and unforgiving sometimes. Alas the customization isn't as huge as one would think with the characters. As some people reported the game has some graphical glitches but its not that annoying, overall quality was otherwise nice.
For 3 bucks price if it was standard i would think its resonable if i had known what state the game is, but for 30 bucks it's an absolute ripoff even if it all worked as it should. Obviously I felt compelled purchasing it at 90% off but i would have skipped on the game knowing important replayability/endgame features are disabled. I would have paid 10 bucks if everything advertised worked, 3 bucks on a sale, not even close to the 30 dollars, absolutely not.

Хотя разработчики могли сделать полноценную, качественную игру без гринда на 10-15 часов. Этого было бы вполне достаточно.
Как TD хороша первые несколько часов. Дальше играть не стоит! можно просто забивать на игру.

Definitely NOT worth $30 asking price. Kind of a simple and boring where the challenge comes in the form of the grind of leveling up gear and stats for your 5 heroes as well as moving them around during various levels.
It's obviously a reutilized mobile game. It still has the gem and gold conversions and menus that you normally see in live service and mobile games. Thankfully, none of that F2P or monetization is actually in game, but with it removed you can see how shallow this game really is.
It's like the devs know F2P games don't do well on PC/Steam so they slapped a $30 price tag on it, did some basic edits to make it work, and called it a day.
Worth $5? Sure. maybe $10. Too boring and easy when compared to other TDs.
Starts off sluggish, misses the point of tower defense, clunking along to barely get any meaningful upgrades while each enemy type can only be effectively taken out by the specific unit they're weak against and everything else is almost worthless against them- until by the time I did start getting strong and got nice upgrades, the game would start crashing on me randomly.
Fun game I keep coming back to once in a while. Gets a bit too hectic in later levels for me (I'm a poor gamer) but love the concept and aesthetics.
2/10 Could be good but too hard. Camera sinks. They want you to grind and play the same levels several times. Just kept losing very cheaply. Like the last guy with a sliver of health.

Ok so far its okay, it has replay value and I like how the difficulties are locked and that you have to build yourself up. I really like the mechanics and strategy, as it gives you more of a challenge where in most TD games where instead of endlessly by as many towers to your heart's content, you have to actually strategize where you want to place your heroes on the map, and I really like that part of the game. I like the characters, It gets very challenging really fast, and its not as dumb-easy as OTHEr mainstream TD's do. I also really like the art in this game as well, and the spunky character models.
My critique: For the full price, no, I do not think this game is worth it unless there is a sale, as it crashed several times after I was finished a level. The character's aren't very 3 dimensional IMO, and although I *LIKE* some of the characters on face-value, I wish their personalities could be deeper than 'big bad silent protagonist' or 'Little prodigy girl raised by zombies!!' type schtick. I felt the budget went less for the character development and more into the voice-acting and game mechanics.
If they upgrade those facets, I will say it would be recommended. Just get it on sale.
Oh my... the game looked like it had promise. It looks really nice, but plays like a brick. I can't believe I wasted my money on this game.

✔️Несомненные плюсы игры - наличие сюжета; есть инвентарь, но нет проблем с переполнением или перегрузом; две скорости игры и даже тактическая пауза; информация о монстрах в нескольких ближайших волнах. В целом, игра довольно неплохая... но с большим возом проблем. ❌Имеются баги. Тормоза (даже на самом современном железе). Недружественный интерфейс города. Неинформативная и неудобная в управлении главная карта. Нельзя самому вертеть камеру. Утомительный фоновый саунд.
⛔И, о боже, как они умудрились так испоганить перевод? "Боунз", "Дое", "Абрагама", "Графон", "крик" вместо "Мэйли", "Доу", "Амальгама", "Графом", "крипа"; "Орбы" и "Улучш" - и это я пока перечислил только то, что в списке достижений! "Обогатить" вместо "достичь" (кто-то перепутал reach и rich), "спасайсь от полиции"... Причём бред встречается не только в репликах - что ещё хуже, перепутаны и испорчены, например, описания рун (например, для всех рун Deadly Reach, которые - кто бы подумал - перевели как Мёртвое Богатство, в описании указан один и тот же радиус) и слотов в Банке...
В общем, я какое-то время думал, ставить или нет игре дизлайк, всё же геймплей не так плох... ⛔Но последняя соломинка, которая меня сломала - нельзя получить все достижения, поскольку сервера игры мертвы и зайти в онлайн нельзя... Да ещё игра за такую цену... Однозначный дизлайк, увы.
I was going to give this game a second level's chance, as the first one was thoroughly unconvincing, with ridiculous dialogue, either over the top or terrible voice acting depending on your perspective, an interesting but somewhat boring system (which I was hoping would be improved by additional units being added), and a generally... Poor overall experience.
And then I tried to change the options between level 1 and 2.
... The game softlocked on me. I opened the menu when it was, I think, expecting me to immediately go to the next level. None of the buttons worked. I could no longer advance. I could not close the menu. I could not do anything.
Either no one tested any of this or it's just that poorly made. After my lackluster experience with the first level, I decided a softlock was a step too far. I'm done with this game. I'll be getting the cards at some point, but past that? I'm done here.
A very buggy and poorly optimised game, and one that is horribly grindy once you're past the initial stages.
It's an interesting and fun enough if fairly basic entry in the tower defence genre though, so if you really like TD and it's on sale, it's not a terrible purchase. At full price and even half price, however, I would not recommend it.
Tower Defence, but the towers are actually people that move.

nice game but grindy for no reason, archievements can not get completed because the endles mode only get set free in multiplayer, multiplayer does not work anymore because no servers available. dead game.
Overall, this is a good game. The scenery and storyline are enjoyable. The main campaign is almost flawless, the additional (bonus) levels are quite buggy but it is still playable. Probably, if you are a fan of Kingdom Rush franchise, you may like this game.
its not bad if you can get it cheap, but the difficult gets waaaay to bad after you get wyldes, it feels like a pay to win game at that point, wish it would not have gem system since you get them from gold anyway, makes it feel like a bad mobile game, but its fun
Super fun tower defense game. Very challenging and has a pretty great story line as well.
It's like if you had the perfect tower defense game but instead was micromanaged units which with hotkeys isn't hard at all. You slowly build up and level up to face scaling levels. Having a lot of fun with it. Zero micro transactions.
C'est un bon tower defence, avec des mécaniques de gameplay qui manquent de profondeur mais qui sont bien huilées.
Les personnages sont attachants et l'histoire assez intéressante.
Cela dit, graphiquement c'est vraiment pas terrible et pour la bande son c'est le minimum syndicale.
Je le recommande car il est quand même pas mal, mais pas à 30 euros en 2023 alors qu'il est sorti en 2016. Attendez une solde.

Es un tower defense muy lindo, con una micro historia de fondo (no muy genial) pero copada en cuanto a progresion y jugabilidad, llegan momentos donde realmente te estancas y debes empezar a grindear mucho para mejorar poderes (subiendo de nivele los "heroes torre").
Basicamente tenes 2 recursos, el oro y las gemas, el oro lo conseguis jugando los niveles y matando bichos y ganando y las gemas se compran o se pueden conseguir en los desafios de los mapas que son rejugables infinitamente.
Los heroes pueden llevar como Runas (2 por nivel) que son leveleables con "almas" por cada nivel creciendo el recurso requerido de forma exponencial, creo que hasta nivel 10. Los poderes pasivos del arbol de talentos son como 10 por heroe y consumen 1 en nivel 2 y sumando 1 por nivel, 2 el nivel 2, 3 el nivel 3, etc. asi hasta el 5.
Algunos son necesarios para abrir otros en el arbol de talentos, en lineas generales todos son poderes buenos.
Cada heroe de los 5 tiene una "especialidad" y es bueno SOLO para matar un determinado tipo de bicho, asi que vas mezclando los heroes.
Hay quizas una excepcion a la regla y es el cazador con ballesta que es MUY bueno y si esta con buen nivel y al lado del hechicero de hielo con auras al maximo (y quizas hasta en un altar), es muy poderoso.
Es bastante util mejorar los altares en los mapas, sobre todo en niveles mas avanzados, cuestan pocas gemas y dan buenas bonificaciones que te sirven para pasar de nivel, recomiendo el Doble rango y daño doble ya que puede usarlos cualquier personaje.
el juego tiene pocos mapas y terminan rapido la historia y la jugabilidad, esta muy bueno, hermosos graficos, linda ambientacion, musica, sonidos, pero me quedo la sensacion de que le faltaron cosas, realmente esta muy bien hecho y te atrapa de principio a fin, ademas de los cromos obviamente que siempre se agradece.
Si te gustan los TD dale una oportunidad!

А Стиму стоит добавить функцию "Скрыть разработчика", а не только игру.
На самом деле, может и интересно оно, НО:
1) После первой же карты повисло при поражении, ничего не нажималось, закрыл через альт+Ф4, а прогресс обнулился;
2) Графика просто бесвкусное убожество из 1999-го, хотя тогда и то больше души было;
3) Снова этот пальцеориентированный гигантский интерфейс и кривое управление.
Купил за ровно 1$ и это максимальная цена для подобной игры.

Дал второй шанс, запустил ещё раз, повсила через 10 минут при выходе с карты в главное меню. Возврат.

better skip this game because both isn't possible anymore (you need 100 waves in endless mode wich isn't there anymore lul) solo campaign alone is absolutly not worth the price
Очередная игра на стыке жанров, но в этот раз удивило соединение - Tower Defense и ARPG.
Сюжет игры достаточно банален и прост, хотя чего ещё ожидать от Tower Defence, спасибо, что он есть.
В отличие от классических Tower Defence - у вас здесь всего 5 персонажей и то, те, которые могут перемещаться по карте. Также, у этих персонажей есть возможность прокачки навыков/вставки рун в оружие/получения аур, прямо как в ARPG (на чём ARPG заканчивается).
Визуальное составляющее игры на высоком уровне, к графике вопросов нет как в принципе и к музыкальной составляющей.
К сожалению, вместо ARPG гринда, натыкаешься на фарм из мобильной дрочильни, что уже после прохождения нескольких карт для дополнительных звезд начинает очень сильно надоедать из-за чего, чтобы пройти игру на 100% надо неоднократно запускать одни и те же уровни.
На март 2023: Мультиплеер не работает, что делает игру только Solo.
Из оценки: я бы поставил ей 4-5 стрел выстреленных из арбалета из 10. К покупке бы не рекомендовал из-за бесконечного гринда и приятное ощущение на старте игры уже меняется на неприятный осадок в середине.
Ce Tower Defense joue la carte de la qualité graphique pour attirer le client. Malheureusement, bien que la réalisation soit correcte, je n'accroche pas du tout : Un tuto beaucoup trop lent ... un système de déplacement des héros peu précis, des méchants "joyeux Halloween" peu crédibles et très loin du côté sombre que j'attendais. Sans être totalement un mauvais jeu, mon temps est précieux et je désinstalle sans regret.

ESTA INCOMPLETO, el modo endless mode que es necesario para completar el 100% del juego esta bugeado y no se puede jugar los desarrolladores ya pasan del juego, si volviera atrás en el tiempo JAMAS lo compraría.
Meiner Meinung nach ein gelungener und neuartiger Mix. Tower Defense mit Helden habe ich in der Art noch nie gesehen. Tower Defense Spiele reizen mich nicht wirklich, aber dieses Spiel hat mich von Anfang an gepackt! Schöne bunte Grafik, tolles UI, nette Charaktere und sagen wir, eine kleine nette Geschichte, ohne wirklichen Tiefgang. Das hat mir aber nicht gefehlt, dafür ist das Setting einfach stimmig.
Mich hat es total motiviert bis jetzt. Klasse Spiel!
Über den Preis kann man sicher diskutieren. Der ist mir auch zu hoch. Habe es deshalb in einem Sale gekauft.

Progression may be a bit heavy on the grinding, however the multiple channels of progress and mobile towers (the heroes) is well done.
It didn't catch me enough to spend a lot of time on it, but its pretty well done and a somewhat different TD game so worth trying (I'd wait for a sale though..)
I enjoyed it. It's a different take on a tower defense, where it's more about moving and manipulating your towers (heroes in this case) than spam building/upgrading a mass amount of towers. The only things I think could improve is if I could pause (which might exist, I just haven't found it), and for the next wave to auto-reset my time. Sometimes it'll switch paths and I won't realize it until they're half way down the path (especially at 2x speed) and the heroes still need to walk over. I enjoyed the dark and gloomy atmosphere and the fact that they put in voice acting.

Очередные башенки, где вместо башенок у вас 5 персонажей, со своим оружием и стилем боя, которых можно перемещать по полю битвы, 4 уровня сложности, 26 карт, прокачка персонажей, строительство города(а точнее четырёх зданий). Немного непривычное управление, к которому впрочем привыкаешь, прикольная графика, простецкий сюжет, местами недоделанная русификация(которая в принципе уже не особо актуальна так как к концу игры надоедает играть. Вернулся в игру ради ачивок, которые в своё время не захотел добивать. Переигрывать точно не буду. По полной стоимости брать не рекомендую. Зайдёт любителям жанра и для идеальной игры в коллекцию.

The game is decent. Lots of grinding the same level over and over to get gold. However, the last level freezes up when playing. I was able to complete it on basic after 5-10 attempts. Due to this bug I can't give a thumbs up.

I started this review with a thumbs up recommendation because it is an extremely polished game that does what it set out to two. But as I tried to put words to the review I realized that the negatives really overshadow the experience.
On the bright side, it looks really good, it's fully voice acted, and the moment to moment gameplay is smooth. It takes the core play of a tower defense and then add mobility to the towers. Throw in some skills trees and a gacha-styled rune customization system and you get Hero Defense.
While the features are in place and well-implemented, they just don't feel satisfying to actually play.
Tower Defense tend to get most of their depth from choosing which towers to deploy, but this game limits you to 5 towers, with one instance each. The intention is that you can customize these heroes to your own play style, but all of the upgrades are passive changes. They don't make the towers feel any more varied or powerful, just like you need to grind for more levels.
This feeling is compounded by the level design and game flow. Each wave of monsters is weak to a single hero (Dictating which towers to use), levels are locked by stars which require you to replay early missions, and enemies/bosses can often feel tanky unless you take time to level up your heroes.
The rune's definitely are more successful, as they actually impact a units play-style. But it's locked behind a gacha-style purchases and merging systems. It's not micro-transactions, but still gives off the feeling of a mobile game.
The worst part is that the game is well-made and deserves good words. It just feels like it falls short as a Tower Defense, and it falls short as an RPG... ultimately failing to create an engaging experience.
