Meh, probably just not my cup of tea. Rounds take too long even on high speed and very repetitive.
great demon slayer game, just be patient, it will get better and better
Excellent deck based tower defence game.
A unique art style, and it opens up at a steady pace. I enjoyed finishing the shift with the interm.
But after that hackers ruined the RNG and nullified weapon spawns and stats.
Not the devs fault. Probably only me. Cozy Penitence!
an amazing masterpiece. 5/5

Literally unplayable.
Total garbage. You don't even play you just watch.
cool game
does your game works properly?
The time I have to watch the waves being killed is idle game and it annoys me, I cant do ♥♥♥♥ during this time. It is not fun to watch this. Also the decks are confusing me a bit, also I dont understand how much damage I am doing it all just - hoping for the best. Also why damage type matters? WHAT IS GOING ON?
It looked like a fun small game and I tried it but mostly I dont like it.
In general, it's not a bad game. I like the aesthetic, the music is great, and I dig the humor, all in all it isn't a bad game. I'll also say that it's more of a "Survivor's" style (as in Vampire Survivors) of game than a tower defence (fortunately I am a fan of Survivor games); essentially it's a survivor's game where you can't move.
The big problem I'm having is that to beat a round you have to get two very specific upgrades: a 100% damage upgrade for towers/garrisons and a 100% damage upgrade for a specific damage type. If you don't get these two upgrades then you're likely going to lose. It's possible to get by with only one of those damage upgrades, but your chances of winning are still marginal. I might just not be playing right, but this is the only working strat that I've found so far.
Again, I dig the look, the music, and the humor, but the actual game itself is kinda disappointing.
Really addictive game that you can spend hours on , with some good replayability .
The mix of deck builder and tower defence is amazing !
One of the only problem is that you cannot do alot of decks when you get to the harder modes , and it become very frustating.

the tutorial is dog sh*t but the learning curve is not that bad, once you get it though you'll have a blast.
good but i cant complete the mg run cause it keeps crashing
Todo o conceito enquanto vibe e atmosfera realmente conversou comigo.
Very enjoyable game. Crossing between Vampire survivors and cardbased rougelike. Its not very complex. Before you unlock new soldiers/weapons you are forced to do the same builds. There are only 3 types of soldiers and 3 types of weapons and you have 5 slots for them on each run.
I unlocked all playable characters and seen end credits after only 14 hours.
However I had fun playiong and price is excelent so I recomend it if you like that typ of games.
good game
Fine tower defense and deck builder but missing a super crucial part. Theres no Bias towards things you have spec into so the more cards u unlock the more random spam rolls youll get to the point were the game felt much harder after playing for a bit where builds are impossible are deck draw a all random crap. i hope dev adds a bias to the element and dmg type you have equiped so you be able to build stuff. my last run i banished 40+ cards just to get a few usable ones
If youre looking for a casual tower defense game that packs a challenge, this does the job. To 100% is another story, a horrible one. There are so many times when you go through a run thinking it will go well until the end but somehow, somewhere, an unexpected event will occur and you see your impending lose screen, so you feel like you have to run it back again. That is where the addiction lies. The benefit is not satisfaction but hands blistering due to having to rely on the mouse constantly moving fast when upgrading your units to save time on a run.
The achievements are also so perfectly done until you realize you have to complete the achievements within the games itself. They are so ridiculous that most runs end up with you very nearly achieving the goal before being hit with the realization youve neglected power and defence, causing you to lose towards the finish line. This plus the health effects on your body cause most players to think twice about if 100% is worth it.
With all that said, the game itself is wonderful without giving spoilers.
One of the few games that really broke the mold for deck-builders for me! Generally not a big fan of tower-defense games either, yet I keep coming back to this one. The face-melting soundtrack, the variety of towers and garrison units, and the ability to craft a truly game-breaking build make this one stay high on my list! Tons of new cards to unlock means lots of variety of builds over time, and fun things to discover on the main menu give a light-hearted break in between intense "shifts". Can't wait to clock back in!
Think of a hell base Brotato but you cant move but between waves The shop is a card deal for upgrades. You can manipulate the cards in a sacrifice of 2 cards to get one higher ranking card. I got it for under $5 on sale. At that price I can't be disappointed as it still feels like some of the tower build aren't nearly as viable as they could be leading to fewer winning strats. but its a good casual game with no in game cash store with some tongue in cheek small dev Shenanigans on the interface. One warning be aware of deck mechanics they will confound those not familiar with card based games at first. TA true casual experience.
9 Circles of fun, this tower defense game is excellent.

the game is good, definitely worth it, it has a lot of variety, but it's a bit too easy though. the emails and other misc things were unnecessary, the gameplay, graphics, music were enough.
Was just kinda boring, most of the upgrades were basic stat upgrades, not much that the player actually does, a good idle game if the rounds were longer. You could probably remove the pause when the upgrade menu comes up and you'd have a much more engaging game
Either way, not my cup of tea.
I did love the art, music, theme and demon clippy was a hilarious addition
Game starts just great. It's fun and funny. However quite quickly it turns out that the worst thing you can do in the game is to play it. The game literally punishes progress (and spending money on DLC). You get more cards, the deck gets cluttered to the point it's almost impossible to win the game and you cannot decide which cards to use. This is just poor mechanincs choice. You sould be able to decide on your deck.
A truly fantasatic game. Easy to learn, difficult to master!
very cool
Jogo muito bem feito !
Northernlion brought me here, great game. Laid back roguelike deckbuilder, has tower defence elements. also comes with a cool immersive soundtrack. Just the right amount of edgy. It's a unique out of the box idea for a game. Quite literally corporate-tech-hell. >:)
This is very strange TD game. It is artistically made, which I like, but as a game, it is not my "cup of tea". It has one central turret base and tower from where you fight. It is, as far as I can tell, heavily luck based, using cards that are delivered frequently. You can increase your chances of better cards. Depending on the cards you get and play, you can get ahead, or lose. Most of the time, I found there was nothing to do until the next card drop. There is no clear delineation of the enemies or enemy types and no direct control on the battle. There is some obtuse, but simple, religious framework that didn't add much to my enjoyment, but the comments from the HR were amusing. With some regret, I must recommend against it. (5/10).
Its good. Its basic and not very deep, but its a solid game. Especially for $5
It's just not fun
Very solid Single Tower Defense game.
Fun game with a decent amount of replayability. Good price point for what it is.
Mostly fun, occassionally frustrating, fairly grindy. Different builds are possible but differ widely in potential and reliability. Love the soundtrack and the lore/minigame around it are fun.
Would love if there would be faster speed settings.
A great Tower Defense, with a killer style and soundtrack your gonna want to turn up not off.
Fun
Really good game i reccomend buy it play it 3hour straight or more without realizing and open it again after you woke up from going to sleep at 4am cause of the game the last night
just a really good game play it and you will like it.
Good game but only for early acsess - Its about 5 h of content which for game like this is terrible
Bought it on release and it was awesome after what I think there will be even more but sadly game hasnt any content updates since release
Only buy if you ready for really small game with poor balance and no qol
I really wanted to like this game and it does have potential... but unfortunately it has a lot of issues.
1) No display on how much luck you have.
2)No idea how many "Rocks" you've played.
3) No way of measuring the amount of multipliers (this is especially lazy since they put the icons and tell you how many but there should be a way of knowing what your STATS ARE!!"
4) No way of knowing what cards you've banished
5) There are really limited amounts of builds if you actually want to win the game especially once you're onto the harder modes.
6) Unlocking cards IS NOT A BONUS - IT HURT YOU MORE THAN ANYTHING.
7) Opening hands / deck patterns not being random actually means that you basically just looking for the few moments of drawing to see what variables are being added. The game becomes math very quick when you dont get the cards you want.
8) Emails and everything else are dumb and pointless.
9) Eventually endless mode will just break and cause your comp to explode.
If this became like a deck building game with some customonization and stratedgy - it might be a amazing game but as it stands it quite bad.

While the gamebreaking bug introduced in the last update has now been fixed, the game unfortunately still stands as one of the most annoying rogue-lites that I've played, due to it's bloated card system and the way it discourages you from building anything more than a single structure and damage type (2 types if you include one that it purely there to regain HP and deals basically no damage).
This is because there are almost no mixed damage cards in the game. Maybe 5 from memory? And out of 283 possible cards, good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ luck getting those!
So as I said, the game has 283 different cards in it.
About 189 of them are just different Tiers of the same cards.
That leaves something around maybe 94 actual different cards in the game.
Now, consider that around 80 of those cards are straight up detrimental to your deck in high difficulty games. You'll get offered 7 cards to choose from at certain progression points during a round, or you'll get 3 to choose from whenever combining 2 cards of the same tier.
Roughly there are maybe 15 useful cards at high difficulties. So about 14% of the cards offered to you that might be useful. You'll generally be lucky if even 1 of the offered card options are good for your deck type. Occasionally you'll have the rarity of getting to choose between a whopping 2 decent cards. Joy!
Typically, however, your choice will be:
Bloat your deck with cards that aren't effective enough to survive
OR
Skip the offered choices and end up with garbage 'rock' cards all through your deck because it is too small.
(Rock cards are next to useless, only there to combine into 'essentially' the lowest quality of cards you can get.
That's right. You just hit a progression point where you get to 'upgrade!' yaaaay!
buuut you walked away with equal or less strength...
Err... what?
Well, the game has too much underpowered cards. And I mean to the point where anyone playing would see a lot of these cards and just be like "WTF? Why would that even be useful?" or "That would rely waaaaay too much on the random and unlikely chance of getting the other card/s it needs!".
In the end, on high difficulties, your games will go like this:
Get no decent cards by round 2, game over. Restart.
Get no decent cards by round 2, game over. Restart.
Get no decent cards by round 2, game over. Restart.
Get no decent cards by round 2, game over. Restart.
Get no decent cards by round 2, game over. Restart.
And then repeat that, maybe another 10 times...
Sounds fun yeah?
Well, some people are just masochists.
Nevermind, you'll probably just get bored before you even reach Torment difficulty anyway, since there is really no meaningful mix and match style of play for structure/damage types to be able to buildcraft with and anything that looks like it might form some kind of build, ends up being far to random too be worthwhile.
Decent idea but poor execution. A lot of the towers are useless because the enemy health scales so wildly you are getting nearly 7000 hp in the final mobs. And half the towers do not scale to that at all. I only really had any luck with One Man Army's +500% buff
Concept is good, some of the towers and garrisons are fun to play, but honestly it felt pretty boring as I was unlocking more cards, and the rng aspect of getting worse cards as the price increased sucked. Plus the other unlockable characters are kinda too expensive which was a huge turn off for me as well.

I like the game, or at least I’m trying to, but I still have to leave a negative review.
Heretic’s Fork has good ideas and looks visually cool, but I can’t recommend it.
The ‘Deck-building’ tag has never felt more misleading for a game that, of course, uses cards.
You don’t build anything you just take whatever you’re given, all of it, and hope for the best.
The deck is MASSIVE, and there’s no way to reduce it or anything like that... you simply have access to every playable card, and that’s it.
This becomes a real problem when you try to complete the Tasks.
Having to play only one unit type is fine in theory.
Except if you play only Towers, for example, you’ll get tons of cards that improve Garrisons... and vice versa.
Speaking of units, there are Towers and Garrisons.
But let me tell you this: Garrisons are ridiculously BAD compared to Towers... so bad it’s almost comical.
So imagine trying to complete a Shift with only ONE type of Garrison… sounds fun, right? No.
Being able to ban cards for money before starting a Shift, for example, could greatly improve the game.
Especially since you quickly stop needing money, so it just ends up piling up uselessly.
I enjoyed the first ten hours or so, and if you stick to that, which basically means finishing the story mode, Heretic’s Fork is decent.
The Torment levels are also a fair and enjoyable challenge, unlike the Tasks.
TL;DR: It’s NOT a bad game, but it has flaws that make it far less fun and satisfying than it could have been.
One of the very few games that completely hooked me in recent years. I was seeing it in my dreams, when it allowed me to have them. Extremely rich aesthetic that's really fun to play with in the overworld.
entretenido, falta mas heavymetal
fun but gets boring pretty quick, haven't played enough to unlock higher difficulties but the first one is just a joke once you know what you're doing, and each run consists of staring at your screen while you click upgrades every once in a while
If everyone can please sign Marco's petition to ban bubbles we will finally end bubbles in the workplace. Marco eye is in a lot of pain because of unauthorized use of bubbles, sign the petition for Marco's eye and protect other eyes from bubbles.
bacana!
great visuals! great music! great game!
Perfection in all aspects, synced +20h in it, trying all the characters and unlocking most of the content. The game is very polished, and the build variety is great. The art style and music are top-notch; nothing to complain about really. It's a really well-made game.
I hope the devs give us more content or make a sequel or a new game with the same ideas and aesthetics ❤️
Since I see more negative reviews than I expected I will leave this positive one. It's a fun little game with lots of unlocks.
The vibes are great: good music, great style, lots of little interactions in your in-game desktop. It has a lot of personality, as mentioned in almost every review.
About the gameplay. The game is a tower defense where you use cards to improve your towers. It offers 2 types of structures: garrisons and towers. Each of them have cards that make them more powerful, augmenting the base damage, attack speed, range, proyectile speed, AOE, critical chance/damage or elemental damage.
You get better cards by fusing 2 of your current cards, as rewards after each wave or buying them with gold coins in the shop. The result of fusing is random, you get a offered a few choices of the next tier of cards unless you fuse the same card twice (in which case you will always get offered the next tier version of the card you fused).
I read in some review that you can't see your stats while playing but that's wrong. During a wave you will see all the items affecting your stats on the left-bottom box, you can hover over them for more details and you can pause the game to see the list of stats and their total value.
Some other reviews complaint about variety and about being forced to play some way. I don't feel the same, although it is optimal to focus only in towers or garrisons there are cards that will augment both or give you a boost only if you are using both types of structures. Also you can focus on entirely different stats, doing damage by sheer attack speed + critical change/damage or by AOE or by cursing enemies or by focusing in a single elemental damage or mixing 2 of them, for which there are cards too. There are plenty cards for turn economy, cards to duplicate your important cards, cards to replace your type of damage... it's all quite flexible, but you will have to unlock most of these cards first.
The runs are a bit longer than they should. Or better said, the game is on the slower side. Once a new wave starts you play your cards, after that the enemies come and won't stop until you have punished enough sinners, then the next wave starts. The problem is that during the wave there is nothing to do but look at all the punishing you are doing, so the game feels kinda slow even when there is always something happening.
Anyway, maybe wait for a sale but it is a pretty well done deckbuilder for a few dumb afternoons.
Not unique, but unusual design, lacking in balance an control.
Once you get the idea of the game, it becomes purely a lottery. Most of the cards adds only a little to the success of the game, you need to be lucky to get the cards required to win. the sooner you get those, the easier the game will be. I also never liked spikes of difficulty in games. You may beat one wave easily while get overrun by next. That brings me to my second complain: no control. There are no indications of incoming of harder waves, allowing you to prepare. You played the game before and know when the harder waves are? Well, pray to goddess of randomness to give you the cards at the right time. There are also no information about the state of your towers. How much DPS do they do? What critical chance? Whats the base speed? What does "+5% critical chance" do? Does in increase base, say 1%, to 1.05% or to 6%? What about damage? At least you can see the damage numbers popup, unless there are to many to distinguish. Whats the matter with different damage types? Are some creeps more vulnerable to some kind of damage? Who knows? Why would I use a card with +10% damage for one type, while a card with +10% to all types is in the same tier? Nice to know there will be more staring cards to chose from. But no idea how to get those. You have to guess all the time. Beating the game with all characters might do something, lets try... Maybe you need to beat the game multiple times, who knows? The game itself is quite repetitive, there is not much fun beating the game just in hope to blindly hit some trigger. You don't have the control of your play, imho you need for an enjoyable game.
Solid base for a game, need a lot more love to details from developers.
I'm a fan of tower defense, rogue likes, and deck builders. This was worth a few dollars, but doesn't really hold up to extended play. In the end it's a 15-40 minute investment that feels like five minutes of game play with little feedback or feeling of accomplishment.
There's a lot of sitting and watching things happen. I'd easily run the game at double or triple the fastest speed without missing anything.
After 6 hours I still don't know what my choices do and don't feel like they matter very much. It would help if the stats were shown during play, including structure and monster stats. Am I better off combining two low level towers and having an empty structure slot, or leaving the lower level towers until I can fill the slot? When is adding a structure slot better than doubling my damage on the towers? When is it better to specialize or diversify? Do monsters have resistances or vulnerabilities to different damage types? Etc.
I don't regret buying it. It good enough for the price I paid, and was fun to cut things down when a build popped off. But I don't expect to play it any more.
👍👍👍
Güzel....
An addictive reverse bullet hell deck building... thing.
The game has an amazing soundtrack, a wonderful visual theme, and a simple but engaging story.
The gameplay loop is a tad to dependent on what cards you randomly draw / craft per run, making some losses feel out of your control. However there is something hypnotic once you get into the groove. I cant help but want to play another round or 2.
Fun if you can snag it cheap, but I can't recommend at any ordinary price. While solidly built and well presented/themed, the game is both too easy and too repetitive.
Easy in that the core strategy is to stick to one type of structure (Tower or Garrison) and one flavor of damage (light, dark, or fire), avoiding obviously bad picks (i.e., don't rely on the "low damage high knockback" weapon for damage). In some games the "win with a single weapon" achievements are challenges, in this one there's little actual reason to deviate from weapons that are quite capable of carrying a run on their own.
Repetitive, in that there is one set of monster waves and you will see the exact same waves, in the exact same order, every time. The seven characters you can pick from don't meaningfully change the feel of the game, the differences often being close to ignorable. Unlockable cards rarely provide meaningful mutations to play, and the game suffers from a problem common to the genre of diluting the card pool doing more harm than good.
For the price, there's simply a long list of better options. But, I'd still say that if you can get it cheap, it's sufficient for a few afternoons.
The vibes are great, I love the concept of the game game. Very much pony Island meets tower defense.
However the mechanical aspect, especially the roguelike elements, need some work. To me the mark of a good roguelike is crazy builds that come together to completely change the game. With this it basically felt like I was playing the same round over and over. There isn't much to distinguish the towers and no additional mechanics to enhance them other than basic stats like fire rate and damage.
A good example of what I am talking about is something like ball x pit where you can get item and ball combos that completely break the game. Like having poison clouds that turn killed enemies into zombies. AFAIK heretics fork never really mixes things up in that way.
It's a shame because there's a lot to like about it but it doesn't feel like the core gameplay loop stays fresh enough to get through the meta narrative or soundtrack.
How to work in Hell's management.
Oh, boy... is this game something else. Not only is this a very good game, but the general vibe is something that I haven't really had anywhere else. The core gameplay is great, and there is always something to engage you between runs, it really helps to break things up a bit, since these games tend to be fairly tedious. Not only are you progressing in the standard meta progression sense, but as you do more and more runs, you unlock all kinds of little tidbits and minigames. It's pretty awesome. The art style is great. The soundtrack is great. The game plays very well with a controller.
If I can mention one negative here, it's that the learning curve is a little high here. If you're a TD or even a Survivors-like veteran, you likely won't have too much of an issue, but for someone new to either genre, it might be a little on the brutal side.
As someone who has played more than their fair share of TD's / roguelike/lites over the years, I can say that this game is definitely one that I will remember for a long time, and intend to spend some time with. Highly recommended.
so fkn good, holy sht
Bon jeu. A recommander.
très bon jeux !!!!
nice chill game
This Game is amazing, if you like card based tower defense games and like the idea of having a job where you kill sinners trying to escape Hell, play this game.
I found this game genuinely addictive. The game design is clever and unique and the runs are the perfect mixture of fun and challenging. Those who claim that the gameplay suffers as you unlock new cards are simply bad at implementing strategy or knowing when to risk some cards on a reroll. Sometimes a run doesn't give you the cards you need despite your best efforts, but that is part of the fun of a roguelike.

👎 Not Recommended
I tried Heretic’s Fork and turned it off after 10 minutes. To me it felt like a satanic tower defense… except without the classic tower defense clarity. Enemies just come in and attack in a way that didn’t feel consistent or readable, so instead of “strategy” it felt like messy chaos.
This game will absolutely find its players though — mainly old-school veterans who enjoy weird, retro-style, niche experiments and don’t mind jank.
My history with the game

Tried it briefly

Played around 10 minutes

Quit because it wasn’t fun for me

Not coming back
Quick signals
💸 Value: ☑Only for a niche audience
🖥️ Requirements: ☑Minimum
🎨 Graphics: ☑Pixel style, not for me
⏱️ Length: ☑Varies by mode
📖 Story: ☑Not the focus
🎮 Difficulty: ☑Depends on tolerance for chaos
🐛 Bugs: ☑Unknown (didn’t play long)
What I liked

It has a clear theme and vibe (dark, demonic, “hell office” energy).

I can see a specific audience loving it.
What didn’t work for me

“Tower defense without the tower defense feeling”

Enemies felt like they attack without a consistent, readable flow

I got bored fast and quit
Is it an endless game? How long to beat?
It’s built around runs and it explicitly has an “endless hordes” concept, plus an Endless mode people discuss and optimize.
For time to finish, public playtime estimates put it around:

Main story: about 6 hours

Main plus extras: about 21 hours

Completionist: about 29 hours
So it can be a short run-type game, or it can stretch a lot if you grind unlocks and push Endless.
Who will love it

Old-school veterans who enjoy weird retro-style design

Players who like roguelite deckbuilding mixed with tower-defense-ish defense mechanics

People who enjoy experimenting with builds and doing repeated runs

Replay value

For me: none. For the right niche audience: probably high, because it’s run-based and has Endless.
Addictif...
