I gave this game a shot, the best I can say is that its kind of mediocre. I tried two consecutive runs with completely different political alignments and they were practically identical... Get two people together with polar opposite extremist views and have them write 7th grade level articles for a journalism class, slap that into a point and click game with a little side scrolling and that is what you have.
Lets reshape all of society in one week with some news stories and bland characters and you have the full length and width of this game.
Other games have already taken this concept and done a better job. This seems like a cheap cash grab with one inch of political insight. The game ends with a weird "ah ha now you see my genius argument that I found on youtube." I started and I uninstalled upon game completion a whole 42 minutes later. Refund requested.

What kind of political fever dream is this game anyway? I started playing this with high hopes and within 10 minutes just absolutely could not take it seriously. The clueless false dichotomies are incredibly obnoxious and offensively extreme. Allow an op-ed about a temporary curfew and suddenly the police are out demanding to see your "papers". Reject a headline portraying refugees as vermin and that night, dozens of beggars are on the street as your spouse loses their job to "immigration." I couldn't bring myself to finish the game. This isn't "thought-provoking", it's just "provoking." The whole game reads like a 15-year-old white nationalist explaining current events. The fact that it perpetuates lies about immigration destroying local economies, when the opposite has been proven true repeatedly (they *spend* too y'know), is enough to never recommend it.

For the first and second playthrough it was interesting but honestly its kinda boring. You don't really feel like your choices matter to your family apart from the headline about funding which public service. But overall it was pretty interesting and fun but after sometime it kinda is just boring

I played the second one before this but have had both in my library for a while.

It's super fun to see how your choices affect the city, but it's pretty limited compared to the second one.

Still would recommend, as I enjoyed myself playing and getting the achievements! But if you're looking for something a little more dynamic, go with Novinews!

TLDR: Biased, hateful, not recommended even on discount.
SPOILERS
This game feels like it's very biased, while trying to tell you that you are the one with the choice. If you side with minorities or agree that immigrants should not be shunned, the entire world falls apart, your family hates you, and you die after getting someone else killed. I won't be playing through a second time to find out what the other side of the game would be because I think those options would be hateful and would rather return the game than encourage those views. All of this really is extra disappointing due to the gameplay itself seeming fun and like something I could have otherwise seen myself enjoying, even though it was a pretty short 1 hour playthrough.

Bei Headliner entscheidest du, welche (vorgegebenen) Artikel du in einer Zeitung veröffentlichst oder nicht. Nach einem langen Arbeitstag gehst du heim zu deiner Tochter und Eheperson. Nach einer Woche findet ein Festival statt- danach erfährst du, wie gut du dich als Headliner geschlagen hast (sowohl privat als auch beruflich) und das Spiel endet. Auf dem Heimweg kannst du die Auswirkungen der veröffentlichten Artikel von dir lesen und sehen. Nimmst du eine extreme Haltung ein, steigen deine Quoten, jedoch musst du dich dann vor Attentaten wappnen. Berichtest du möglichst neutral, sind deine Karrierechancen eingeschränkt und daheim steigen die Diskussionen. Dadurch verschlechterst du deine familiäre Situation.

Gameplay
Ich verstehe die gemischten Wertungen in Steam gut, da die Artikel eingeschränkt sind, die veröffentlicht werden können. An allen Tagen sind immer die gleiche Anzahl von Artikeln vorgegeben, die du veröffentlichen kanns. Nach drei Rundgängen ungefähr kennst du im Grund genommen alle. Bist du daheim angekommen, sind die Dialoge und -optionen auch nach ungefähr drei Durchläufen gut vorhersehbar. (Spielt man nicht auf Achievements, die beeinflusst werden vom Dialog daheim, finde ich ein schnelles Durchklicken ne gute Option.)

Achievements:
Die ersten Achievements fliegen einem quasi zu durch normales Durchspielen. Bei anderen lässt der Titel erahnen, wie dieses erspielt werden könnte. Schwierig fand ich die versteckten Achievements zu finden. Nachdem ich 3 Durchläufe durchgeflogen bin und sich immer noch nicht alle versteckten freigeschaltet hatten, habe ich im Communityhub nach einem Guide dazu gesucht. Dann habe ich festgestellt, dass bei den mir am Schluss fehlenden Achievements die Beschreibung nicht ganz korrekt war und andere auch dran festhingen. Mit etwas rumprobieren habe ich es dann aber doch hinbekommen, alle freizuschalten.

Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis:
Das Spiel ist regelmäßig im Sale, ein Durchlauf dauert anfangs so 30 Minuten (wenn du alle Dialoge und Reaktionen auf dem Heimweg in Ruhe liest und die Artikel auch immer vollständig, kommst du auf 40-45 Minuten), im Verlauf war ich am Ende auf ca 10-15 Minuten. Im Sale finde ich den Preis ok- da du eh 3-4x durchspielen solltest, um die Auswirkungen der Entscheidungen richtig zu verfolgen.

Bei Headliner entscheidest du, welche Artikel du veröffentlichst und erlebst die Reaktionen deines Umfelds darauf. Dieses Spiel ist zwar limitiert in der Auswahl der Artikel, jedoch zeigt es durchaus, dass Medien Einfluss nehmen auf den Alltag.Dies stimmt etwas nachdenklich- und das zeigt dieses Spiel gut. Leider wird dieses Spiel recht schnell langweilig, sodass der Wiederspielwert / Gesamtzeit eher limitiert sind. Aber es ist ein nettes Spiel für zwischendurch oder für einen gemütlichen Abend, indem man bei Pixelgrafik entspannen möchte. Hab gesehen, dass es einen weiteren Teil gibt- hoffe, dass der mehr Artikelauswahl bietet :)

honestly i dont know what people are on about, my run of headliner was absolutely fine. sometimes decisions had strange impacts, but i think that was because certain choices had locked events, and i kept playing the sides so it made everyone mad...or nobody mad.

it is a short game yes. it doesnt have a whole lot of replayability, no. but it has a much more obvious choice -> impact line than many others of the genre. take the westport independent for example. while it is deeper on some level, i was downright LOST playing it. i publish things to appease the miner situation when i ran that and it gets worse! playing honest or redacting everything didnt seem to matter as much as balancing a board with the weight shifting randomly

this game technically misses some depth compared to that yes. but does that run against the player? in my opinion..hardly

also im broke as hell, same as, perhaps even worse than many here, and i'm gonna say it:
it is only six bucks people. idk what amazing inside gaming you expected but we live in a world where people pay 70 dollars for a rehash of a rehash of a rehash of a rehash of a 15 year old game, now with new dlcs

this aint ♥♥♥♥ on that abysmal lack of worth

Die Mechanik in dem Spiel ist sehr gut auch die Story und das Gameplay finde ich sehr gut und auch cool gemacht. Leider hat man das Spiel sehr schnell durchgespielt. Leider wiederhohlt sich die Story immer wieder. natürlich kann man jedes mal andere Artikel veröffentlichen, aber trotzdem wird es schnell langweilig. Deswegen finde ich es auch schwierig für das Spiel Geld zu bezahlen.

This is a fun little time killer with slight replayability. You accept or reject news articles over a week leading to a festival, walk home while seeing what the public opinion is and having other quick events happen, and make sure all is good with your family. You can get a few different outcomes by replaying, however not enough to go through more than a few times. There is a glitch for me anyway where the game will not close out fully unless I restart my computer, I noticed this the first time I played when I went back to my pc a day after playing and it was still "closing" and then again when I played the second time. So despite having "20 hours in" it is probably more like 1. Not bad though for being a couple bucks on sale.

Concept of the game is neat, big fan of these kinds of choice games. It would have benefited a lot from being just a little more fleshed out with a longer playablity. I completed all the achievements in a span of 6 hours and won't be opening it again.
I can imagine a revised version of the game could be a lot of fun, so I'm looking forward to trying Headliner:NoviNews. Might be better to just buy NoviNews instead of this one, though

O jogo tem uma qualidade muito menor do que o esperado. Entendo que ele critica como as notícias influenciam nossa realidade, mas achei muito estranho que muito do que você escolhe acaba acontecendo, como se até mesmo decisões de terceiros (decisões que o governo elege por exemplo) fora da nossa influência acontece só porque a gente 'quis'. Enfim, o jogo tem mecânicas e uma interface meio estranha e não muito atraentes, que acaba decepcionando. O preço meio que evidencia isso, mas ainda assim é uma experiência muito curta que não vale muito a pena.

As others have mentioned, I bought this game on sale, 50% off. I wouldn't recommend buying it for the normal price, even though it is quite cheap.

It seemed like a really interesting idea for a game, and I often like games like this, such as Papers Please. However, this game feels like its lacking. You can get through a run in 15-20 minutes, and there isn't a lot of replayability value because all dialogue options end up being exactly the same between runs, despite political situations changing drastically in the world. I just wish that the story were a lot more fleshed out than it was, and that the endings were actually unique from one another. Then, maybe it would be worth even 4x the normal price. As it is, I just cannot, in good conscience, recommend this game, as much as I wish I had enjoyed it.

Ik this is nit-picky, but I'm also not pleased with the aesthetics of this game. While the style of the outside environment is very pixel-art-like, your spouse and child are both just stock cartoony pngs, which really clashes with the style of the rest of the game. It kinda irked me the first time I saw it. I wish that this game stuck to one specific aesthetic and ran with it. Either cartoony OR pixel art-style.

Honestly with everything going on I wasn't sure I would enjoy a loosely political themed game, but it was pretty entertaining, especially considering the idea and graphics are relatively simple. I would really enjoy if there were other storyline modules with different societies/issues to navigate through. I'll be playing it through again to see if I can unlock different endings, but if the devs are interested in creating more, I'd love to play. Effective and fun! Essas três frases, e eu poderia acrescentar mais, mas essas três frases, são um resumo do jogo. Eu o recomendo a todos, tal qual um livro do Kafka ou um episódio de black mirror, headliner nos impacta tal qual um soco na cara, pois, ele mostra com peso o impacto de cada decisão que você escolhe. "Então você quer apoiar os puristas? Pois bem, então que se persiga os modificados, e que m0rram os famosos pró-puristas." E assim acontece o mesmo para com os modificados e pró-modificados.

E os imigrantes? Coitados. Ninguém gosta de imigrante nesse mundo, seja onde for. Então no game, quase toda decisão pró-imigrantes, o povo encara como ruim, pois, afinal, "eles vão roubar nossos empregos!!! Eles vão roubar nossas vagas no sistema público de saúde!!! Nosso país já tem problemas demais!!!" Mas se você optar por ir contra os imigrantes, por fechar as fronteiras, "nossa, mas que paraíso!".

Esse jogo escancara a nossa podridão, a nossa hipocrisia e o nosso atraso enquanto espécie, e deixa explícito, como é fácil manipular e ser manipulado, nós vemos isso cotidianamente nos jornais. 10/09, Charlie Kirke, conservador pró-liberdade de expressão e defensor do debate livre nas universidades, levou um tiro, por um progressista, em uma universidade, e como os jornais noticiaram este trágico acontecimento? "Ativista da extrema direita é baleado" ora, a vítima é extrema, mas não quem atirou? E quando você assume esse papel de nós x eles, e passa acreditar que os fins justificam os meios, o sistema já te venceu, e toda esperança de racionalidade em você se foi, pois, apesar dos pesares, enquanto espécie, co-habitantes do mesmo planeta, deveríamos progredir rumo a um lugar melhor, por amor a verdade, a paz e harmonia.

Eu citei um membro de direita que faleceu recentemente, mas eu poderia ter citado vários outras personalidades que infelizmente já padeceram por conta de suas opiniões. Martin Luther King, Sócrates, Tupac, Jesus Cristo, Federico García Lorca, Rubens Paiva, Gandhi, Kennedy, não importe quem seja, não importe o lado ideológico, ninguém merece perder a vida por conta de suas ideias, as pessoas crescem, aprendem, mudam. Parafraseando o próprio Gandhi, "olho por olho e o mundo acabará cego."

A melhor forma de alcançar o final ideal deste jogo é manter o equilíbrio e a moderação, apresentando ambos os lados da moeda e dos fatos, e expressando sua opinião jornalística de maneira ponderada. Quem diria que o bom senso e o equilíbrio poderiam conduzir à paz? Recomendo demais este jogo 10/10.

Habe das Spiel beim erst Durchlauf gespielt, und habe ein friedliches Festival geschaffen. Frau war happy und die Tochter im Knast wegen Schmierereien. Ich habe da mein bestes gegeben um den Frieden in der Gesellschaft zu bewahren. Das Spiel hat mir gezeigt wie schwierig es ist in einer Welt voller Konflikte und Spannungen, alles richtig zu machen. 선택지는 빈약하고 이야기의 깊이는 낮음.

30분이면 엔딩 하나 뚝딱인데, 다시 해본대봐야 똑같은 선택지를 지루하게 반복해야함.

글쎄, 언론이 편향되면 얼마나 위험한지를 표현하려는 의도는 알겠는데 고작 신문사 하나의 편집자 하나만으로 이렇게 극단적으로 상황이 바뀐다는것도 별로 설득력 없어보임.

가장 와닿지가 않는게 게임 시작부터 결말까지 길어야 겨우 7일도 안됨.

7일도 안된 기간에 고작 신문사의 신문기사 따위로 이렇게 상황이 바뀐다고? 말이 됨? 설득력이 있나, 그게???

여기 시민들은 다 일주일도 안되서 고작 일개 신문사 편집장 하나에 자기들 생각과 행동이 휙휙 달라지고 놀아나는 정신박약아들 뿐임???

I really like games like Headliner. You have to spin the news by selecting from the available articles to produce the slant you want. Are you going to be pro-genetic modification or anti? Are you going to be sympathetic to refugees or hostile? When you leave the office at the end of the day and walk home through the city, you see the effects of your decisions on your city. It's a fun little political sim.

游戏的内容概括起来就是不同的新闻内容对应不同的取向，每个分支剧情的取向决定游戏的最后世界会变成什么样，世界的变化和每天晚上与家人的对话则会决定游戏最后家人的结局。然而游戏一共只有[spoiler] 基改 [/spoiler]和[spoiler] 移民 [/spoiler]两条线的民意，再加一个[spoiler] 警察 [/spoiler]会影响你自己的结局，流程也只有短短的七天时间，实际上一局游戏也不会超过半个小时。贫瘠的流程实在说不上是有什么深度，而过短的剧情与最后结局里世界变化的夸张程度则反差得有一些滑稽，反而带给人的触动并不强。总而言之不很推荐游玩，论剧情深度不如paper please，论娱乐诙谐则也不如not for broadcast的两个DLC，可以找一些剧情向的视频当作电子榨菜云一遍流程。

I bought this on sale for <$3. Honestly, I wouldn't pay any more than that for this game. The play through is quick and there are only 2 major issues you side with, discrimination and immigration. The ending of each play through is amusing when your choices produce all negative outcomes including your own death. It is a good way to see how media can influence a population though.

採用・不採用した記事により街が国が変化をしていきます。
ゲームは７日間で終わります。１周、早くて１時間ぐらいなので、周回プレイも容易にできます。

記者の出してくる記事の内容にツッコミが止まりません。
酷い内容の記事が多いです。差別的で偏向的で感想文のような記事もあります。
そのような記事にツッコミを入れながら、それでも採用をしないといけない編集長の辛さよ。
記者に記事を突き返しボタンや記事を書き直させボタンが欲しいと何度も思いました。
