Right off the bat you know this game is going to be a load of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because the character moves like they've got three legs, all of which have different lengths, but one of their legs is their penis so they're trying not to have it touch the ground but they have to move around somehow. This is truly the only way I can describe how horrible it feels to walk in this game. Fireflies stars out by telling you NOTHING so you have to figure out for yourself that you have to drag three random objects to some totems. After that you enter the land of "I don't know how to properly optimise video game assets", where you can look in one direction and the game runs fine, but you look at another direction and the framerate ♥♥♥♥♥ itself. I really though all this would end when I got an RTX 3060, but no, It clearly hasn't. By the way, at this point the game is a slenderman clone. You have to pick up pages of a diary before some untextured monkey beast kills you. Also the sound randomly cuts out in this level, because of course it does. Avoid at all costs.

El juego es horrible, tiene un mal rendimiento para lo mal gráficamente que es, y aburre rápidamente, ademas de los múltiples bugs en las mecánicas y las texturas.
La razón por la que lo compre fue solo por los fondos que se pueden conseguir, el cual es bastante bueno, por cualquier otra cosa el juego es nefasto y horripilante.
The game is sublime if not for the fact that the most important key item in the game literally just dissapears into nothingness and you'd have to restart to even get a chance at doing it! Other than that, not bad! Sublime jumpscares, not of the cheap kind! Highly recommended

История начинается с того как Риарио получил письмо от своего деда, в котором говорится, что нужно отыскать дневник и опубликовать его, т.к. в нем описываются великие вещи, которые даже могут изменить мир.
Во время всего процесса погружения в игру, вы будете ощущать жуткий вайб, встречать несколько пугающих скримеров и конечно исследовать сказочный, таинственный мир, наполненный своей мистической оккультной силой, все же дед вел жизнь сектанта и проводил темные ритуалы.

Графика приятная на уровне cyberpunk.
Музыка 9/10 особенно та что идет в начале, прям услада для ушей.
Сюжет 9/10 о нем уже немного рассказал
И в заключении можно написать, что игра довольно таки неплохая, поиграть на пару вечеров самое то.

This game is terrible in every aspect.
The graphics, while somewhat okay with how the trees and miscellaneous objects look, is a headache-inducing, eye-blinding mess where it's either too dark to see anything, too blown-out and bright due to no regards to bloom or gamma correction like any typical game would, or too dizzying with the motion blur it fails to implement properly. This effect is so horrible, it is unplayable since it feels like you'd get a migraine just looking at it and it can bring even a powerful PC down to its knees in the frame rates, with it being so low as to be a crisp few frames a second when moving the mouse around but perfectly smooth when standing still or moving in a linear direction. There is also rampant graphical glitches with the shadows being very pixelated and the walls flickering between lighted and dark. On the lake later in the game, the water is so terrible as to be ugly even by early-90s standards, much less when this game came out. And the lighting, as mentioned before can be too dark that you can't see anything besides an inch in front of you or too bright that it's a mess of white and yellow pixels.
This game also relies on cheap jumpscares that seem included just to call it a "horror game" and there is no indication at all on what to do or where to go. The controls are horrible and getting past the third area in a dungeon-type place is beyond awful and broken, such as dragging items into their proper place as they will mostly not register at all no matter how much you drag the mouse. Finally, the game will literally disobey you when you want to quit the game, with the message "I can't quit now.", forcing you to either Alt+F4 your way out or use the Task Manager.
This is a game you want to avoid at all costs as there is nothing in this putrid crap of a game that can be considered good. It is insulting that this is supposedly inspired by Amnesia, which looks to be a much better game.
This is a 3D first person puzzle/jumpscare game made with the "enabling mediocre developers to accomplish mediocre things" engine, Unity.
The graphics are fairly poor but they're 3D and the game works ok-ish under 4K, so this is something that the developer should be commended for... the lack of crappy, low effort "I deserve high reviews because I used retro graphics" pixel art is great, this actually looks like a video game that wasn't made 30 years ago.
Unfortunately the game is so buggy, it's difficult to progress. I was unable to negotiate the first puzzle because one of the puzzle items could not be moved from its position.
Other gamers have also complained about the bugginess of the in-game items. It's impossible to recommend a game that simply doesn't function. It's a shame that the effort that went into the graphics on this, to make it more than yet another of the thousands of retro pixel games choking the Steam marketplace to death, was wasted!
No clear goal, controls are clumsy, and the "letters" you find in the game are almost impossible to read. I'm glad it was only ~50 cents on sale but holy smokes. Maybe it gets better a ways in but I'll never know.

10年程前に流行ったyoutubeのびっくり系フラッシュを無理やりunityで3DのFPSに落とし込んでプレイしている感じ。びっくりはするけどそれだけ。

I have not yet finished the game, but I have played a good chunk of it to get a taste of what it is like. I should also note that I received this game for free.
I will start off by saying that this experience certainly is interesting. You look for your grandfather's journal entries, and you seemingly warp from memory to memory to read up on, or even partially experience what he was involved in.
My feelings for this game are mixed because, as many others have pointed out, often it feels like an unpolished project. It did at times feel like I was playing an early alpha project to the point that it weighs the game down quite a bit. In this game, a menu and save system is absent, and overall the gameplay feels a bit sluggish. There were also jump scares which seemed to come out of nowhere, and I am not a fan of random jump scares, but I have to admit that some were quite clever, like a shadow running past you without sound or warning, seemingly uninterested in harming you.
[b]That said[/b], I did not play this solely to pick on technical aspects. A fan of horror has great love for mystery and eeriness, and with that in mind, I was enjoying myself. The setting was interesting. The village outdoors looked weird at first, but then I started feeling that it fit the setting quite well, as if the village had been swallowed whole by darkness that was some forsaken occult dimension. It felt like a dream, no, like a nightmare. There were two occasions I remember particularly well where the sheer atmosphere and environment kept me on my toes. The original author said that this was inspired by Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and while I am unsure how much that reflects on Fireflies, I can tell that efforts were made to make the environment your greatest fear and enemy.
If this game receives an overhaul (a game menu, a save system, improvements etc,) I think more players would be into it. Would I recommend this game? Yes and no. It depends entirely on the player. For most players, I would not recommend this game. [b]However[/b], I had some good moments in this game which personally I feel makes up for the bad. If you are able to put gameplay and bugs aside, and if you enjoy short horror stories where you keep looking around you, and as if you just stumbled upon the forsaken aftermath of satanic rituals, then go for it, you will be startled!

Fireflies claims to be a game inspired by what some would consider one of the greatest horror experiences of all time - Amnesia: The Dark Descent. While there are some very mild resemblances to that game (you carry a light source, solve puzzles and collect notes while encountering the odd scare) Fireflies is essentially an asset flip, bargain basement horror experience, one riddled with glitches and bugs (some game breaking). The graphics are poor and the framerate (even running on a GTX 1070) dire. Sound design is hit and miss but isn't as bad as some other indie titles out there, it's servicable but can be awful at times. A horror game should pride itself on well produced audio. This game fails at delivering anything remotely creepy. Instead it relies on a number of well placed jump scares which I will admit got me and my friend a few times as we played through it for our Youtube channel.
The rest of the game resorts to shock value with tastless diary entries detailing horrific subject matter that even far more mature games like The Last of Us and The Walking Dead wouldn't dare touch. Puzzles are obtuse and made more difficult by some of the worse controls I've experience in recent memory.

Gameplay wise, it's just a walking simulator with jump scares.
Story content includes "rape orgies" with minors, child murder, cults, and just generally disturbing and unpleasant content.
Overall it seems like it's trying too hard to push the boundries.
The "new owner" asked me to play this game and make a video for it, because he just purchased it from the developer who lost the assets due to hardware. So basically, it's gauranteed broken. Which I knew from the beginning, and was willing to totally forgive.
However, if you can't beat the game, it's more than broken. It's not done. The game only allows progress up until a certain point, and then a key item that you need (a bloody bowl) just refuses to appear anywhere, and you're stuck with your thumb up your rear wandering around in the dark. But there's no reason to wander, because there is nothing else to do. You need that bloody bowl, and you aren't going to progress without it.
So there's pretty much no point to play this game. It runs like crap and looks like crap, so there isn't even the appeal of being impressed technically. And you can't even finish it, so the story is essentially and incomplete cliffhanger.
The entire thing left me incredibly frustrated.
DO NOT buy this game unless someone in the Community states that they've figured out a way to beat it. No one has yet. Only play this if it cost you 0$, because as it is now you aren't even supporting the dev, just some guy who bought a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game that isn't finished.
I will update this with a more relevant review if the game is ever beatable, because I was ready to forgive it's technical shortcomings.
The developer for this game lost their game assets and sold the game to someone else. I played it for about 30 minutes and while I thought the sound design was pretty good, it's just an incomplete game. The world feels very empty and there's graphic glitches abound. I couldn't get much from the story either as it was very clear on how to progress.

This is yet another "collect the pages and enjoy the random jumpscares" entry. Bad graphics, abundant glitches, astonishingly boring gameplay and no payoff.
Believe the reviews and only get it if you're interested in punishing yourself.
Ho ricevuto questo gioco come regalo di compleanno l'anno scorso, quando era appena uscito e ne fui molto felice visto che da quando avevo visto l'anteprima su Steam mi ispirava davvero molto dagli screenshot che potevo vedere dalla pagina del negozio. Per un motivo o per un altro ho dovuto rimandare il primo avvio del gioco per molto tempo e man mano che i giorni passavano mi accorgevo di quanto aumentassero le recensioni negative.
Sempre più dubbioso, finalmente, ho voluto dargli una possibilità, sperando di poter uscire dalle mie due orette di gioco soddisfatto e felice.
E invece ho dovuto fare Alt+F4.
Il gioco è fatto in Unity ma la grafica è molto da free-to-play: semplice, risoluzione bassa, scarso livello di dettaglio. Nonostante ciò, non solo il gioco ha effettivamente un prezzo (anche se è solo 2 euro, ma comunque), ma per di più è capace di laggare perfino in un computer con un ottimo comparto hardware. Semplicemente, quando la torcia (con la fiamma fatta di quadrati che svolazzano, per capirci) e le foglie degli alberi si muovono all'unisono solo stando fermi è possibile evitare il pesantissimo lag. Oltre a ciò, ci sono errori di programmazione un po' ovunque, dal fatto che per prendere un oggetto da terra devo pregare ogni divinità esistente perché faccia sì che guardando l'oggetto spunti l'icona della mano (ho supposto sia una mano, quella), perché a volte perché accada devi guardare da tutt'altra parte, dalla completa mancanza di suoni posizionali, che creano terribili effetti di interruzione improvvisa di musiche e suoni, alle immagini a schermo, che dovrebbero essere il fulcro del gioco (note, diari, immagini spaventose), ma che sono programmate male e una volta sono rimasto bloccato a guardare un'immagine che non riuscivo a togliere (ma potevo muovermi comunque) e la seconda volta avevo una nota in cui non sapevo come leggere la seconda pagina.
Il gioco è molto breve, da quel che ne so è all'incirca due ore di gameplay e come tale è uno di quegli horror che ti spingono a iniziarlo e finirlo senza interruzioni. Per qualche motivo, infatti, hanno fatto sì che il tasto Esc facesse comparire a schermo la scritta "I can quit, now" che per i primi minuti mi faceva pensare che prima o poi avrei potuto farlo. In questo modo hanno tolto un utile tasto che avrebbe potuto essere usato, non so, per mettere in pausa e modificare le opzioni, cosa non esattamente inutile. Il gioco cerca per tutto il tempo di spaventarti con inutili jumpscare, ma fallisce miseramente nell'impresa: la totale mancanza di un tasto per correre o per accovacciarsi ti fa capire dopo poco tempo che in verità non ti troverai mai in pericolo (e giuro che una volta un mostro che si era buggato contro il muro ho sperato che mi avrebbe ucciso avvicinandomi, giusto per uscire dal gioco, ma purtroppo è sparito com'era apparso) e che l'unica cosa che dovrai temere saranno il lag e gli alberi che si compenetreranno ovunque senza un perché.
Come se non bastasse, non solo il gioco non ti dà la possibilità di modificare le opzioni, o guardare un tutorial, o nulla, ma per di più non è possibile neanche capire bene cosa fare e ho trascorso gli interi 37 minuti di gioco a girare senza meta tra un jumpscare e l'altro cercando di capire cosa fare, prima di rinunciare.
Avrei voluto davvero dargli una possibilità, sul serio, ma mi devo ricredere. È il perfetto esempio di come non fare un gioco horror.

j'ai acheté ce jeu par curiosité parce qu'il avait de très mauvaise note et je voulais savoir si ce qui etait dis etait vrai . Fiez vous au coimmentaire les plus négatifs et vous aurez le bon opinion du jeu :)
There are some rather obvious oversights (especially the lack of a save feature), but besides that I actually genuinely enjoyed the game.
Huge props to the developers for making this their first game!
One of the worst games I've attempted to play ever. It looks nice enough. The sounds were okay. It just doesn't WORK! When I have to restart the game about 4 times just to be able to FINALLY pick up the book for the first puzzle, there is a problem. And watching the sword glitch through the floor is only funny the first time. It loses it's charm when you can't progress unless you take tiny steps up the stairs just to make sure the object stays with you and isn't lost into the depth of gaming hell.
Let's not forget that the story is also sub-par (when you can actually find the notes and figure out what's going on) and the scares are pathetic at best. Then again, maybe the story would have gotten better and I missed it. I ended up quitting just after I found what I think was a cemetary by the cabins, but I couldn't take how broken it was to stick to it and find out.
Developers, keep trying but make sure it works first.
It's a very interesting puzzle game, more than a horror game. It gave me a very fulfiling 2 hours of gameplay, filled with cool puzzle and a creepy tone.
I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoyes a quick sit at a scary puzzle game.
Don't bother buying this game because it is just awful. Graphics are from 90's at best and when you want out of the game it will say "I can't leave now" so you have to use taskmanager to quit. Message to developer is to start thinking about improving game some more before even publish it(at least for the next project).

Ein Horror-Spiel. Der einzige Horror, den man hat, ist, wie schlecht dieses Spiel gemacht ist.
Z.B. kommen Jump-Scares, die nur aus einem schwarz / weiss 2D-Bild bestehen, welches man für ca. 0.5s sieht. Zeitgleich ertönt ein lautes Rauschen aus den Lautsprechern.
Ausserdem fand ich diverse Stellen im Spiel, an denen man sich in der Umgebungsgrafik festklemmen kann, d.h. man schafft es dann nicht mehr sich zu bewegen. Dies ist insofern ganz besonders unschön, weil es keine Speicher-Funktion im Spiel gibt. D.h. man muss dann das ganze Spiel von Beginn an nochmal zocken.
Noch ein Wort zur Grafik: Die verwendeten Objekte im Spiel, sehen sehr zusammengewürfelt aus. Es fühlt sich einfach nicht stimmig an.
Jemand, der das ebenfalls in den Steam-Diskussionen anmerkte, erhielt vom Entwickler des Spieles u.A. diese Aussage:

In einem Raum gibt es unter Anderem ein Schwert, welches man auf ein Podest legen muss. Weil die Steuerung aber so grottig ist, verschwand das Schwert bei mir, als ich es transportieren wollte! Es gab dann keine Möglichkeit mehr für mich im Spiel weiterzukommen.[/spoiler]

なにせこのアドベンチャーゲームにはセーブ機能が無い。それどころかゲームを閉じる機能すら無い。大抵のゲームではEscを押すとセーブ&ロードやゲームを終了するためのメニューが出るものだ。しかしEscに対するコイツの返答は常に一つ。"I can't quit now"だ。

こうなってくるとAIによる人類に対する反乱は近い将来において避けられぬ事態のように思われる。
まあそれはともかく何度押しても、何処で押しても、彼から"I can't quit now"以外の返答が得られることは決してない。
つまりは一度ゲームを始めたが最後、クリアまでぶっ続けでプレイするストロングスタイルを強要されるのだ。(もちろん実際にはAlt+F4を押せばゲームは消える。ただし同時にこれまでの努力もまた消える。セーブ機能が無いからだ。)
ゲーム業界広しと言えど、ゲーム内にゲームを途中終了するシステムが組み込まれていないのはコレかジュマンジくらいではあるまいか。
Alright. This game has been panned pretty hard, but it did look cool enough for me to have it on my wishlist for a while. Thankfully, it came up in a recent bundle, making it the perfect opportunity to try it out. My experience was a bit of a mixed bag.
Visually, it was pretty standard Unity engine fare, meaning it looked cool, but certainly not groundbreaking at all. I have found personally that this style of graphics and sound does work quite well for the more dramatic and conceptual horror titles, so definitely not a bad thing, and I thought the devs actually utilized it well.
However, another standard of the Unity game are rampant bugginess as it pertains to screen tearing, lag, and clipping, all of which are present in this game. Not to a game breaking extent, but it definitely got annoying at times. Also, another thing I have noted with a lot of these games is difficulty with hit detection, like when you are trying to pick up an item 40 or 50 times before it actually recognizes that you really do in fact have the cursor over the item you are trying to pick up. All of those things do serve to break immersion in the game.
As far as the story itself, it is basically as stated in the store page. The story is revealed via notes you find and the occasional on screen message (although those really serve more as hints). It's interesting enough and although sparse, does convey what it intends to quite well.
Speaking of the notes, you definitely need to find all of them before you can move on (from my own game experience anyway). That will take a bit of wandering. They are in the buildings, so dont waste your time looking around the forest floor.
There are a few puzzles in the game, and none were too complex. However, I did run across an issue with what I assume is the last puzzle in what amounts to the third chapter that brings home an actual game breaking issue. No saves, and in fact, no game menu whatsoever. For this game, it would have been ideal to include at the very least, auto saves before critical moments so that, if you mess up, you can go back and try again, because....at least in my play through, messing up a particular puzzle resulted in not being able to progress any further, and unfortunately, once you leave the game, you also have to start over from the very beginning of the game, which isn't cool at all, and in fact, did mark the end of my playthrough.
That is unfortunate, because this game actually is pretty cool despite all its flaws, but given those flaws, combined with no saves, I find it difficult to recommend this game. I rate it as a 3 out of 10, and that rating would increase to a 6 out of 10 if it had saves, for perspective.

After playing this game my emotions are quite mixed. In some moments I was really annoyed by the fact that there is no main menu or pause menu but also, I kinda got over it.
The idea of this game is good, I like the story quite a lot, but there are many things that should be fixed as trees penetrating through some object(branches), and dumb AI for example.
My conclusion is that for a small price this is a solid game, you can actually feel the breeze while playing which I like.
7/10 for indie game!!

Complete lag game
Hello. I've just played the game and I found several issues. Most of the flaws were regarding the design itself, it was a bit sloppy and I've noticed you were using free assets which did not make me feel that happy about the game. Also there were some logical mistakes some of which are probably left there intentionally for players to find... I think it would be great if you added the save option because I had some stuff to do and had to start the game all over. The story itself did its job by keeping me interested for the jumpscares to take place. I do in the other hand support your work and want you to stay motivated so we could expect even more and even better games in the future...
I was able to relax into the plain graphics and looping sound, and actually enjoy the mood and twisted story. I was sort of charmed by the whole thing! Then came the first jump scare - as cheap and context-free as an old Youtube "maze" prank. I started to lose patience with the many cut-and-paste cabins scattered around, and the lack of a map. I read a bunch of journals, pulled a couple levers, and then - after an hour-and-a-half - I was lost, with no indication of whether I was 2 minutes from a solution or 2 hours. The game told me I couldn't quit (in words that had always suggested I might eventually), so I had to shut it down and pray for an autosave. But, when I booted up again, I was back at the start and p&%$d.
I hate to trash a promising labor of love by a small development team, but the game didn't bore me, it aggravated me. I hope the team saves the day with a save feature, and maybe a map. Until then, I would advise against spending money on it.

This game strong and weak points:
- Story. Above average when it comes to horror mostly because it does not have much story connection between the scenes, except the letters, but the dark scenery, music and let`s not forget the scares, are very nicely done. 7/10
- Art. Beautiful graphic in the scenes and detailed structure. It`s very obvious that the team that created this game watches a lot of horror movies, plays a lot of horror games and has studied all the aspects of horror making games, but it still needs more imagination. 9/10
- Music 10/10
- Puzzles and characters. The puzzles are hard to understand sometimes which in fact makes it a good puzzle, so no point criticizing the puzzles to much, except to have a bit more character interaction to do a puzzle would benefit the game even more and having a few more puzzles would not hurt anyone. The characters like the zombie and the ghost are how can i say to plain, which in fact i can conclude that you don`t have your own model creator. So if you plan on making a next game, which i think you do, you will need one or two who can do that part of work. So puzzles 9/10, characters 6/10.
In conclusion the score of the game, from the above listed facts, would be 8/10, but considering that this is your first experience in game developing and the first time you publicly announced a game i have to say that it is really good made and no one can make something perfect in his/her first time trying or without practise. So in future developing i wish you success.

Well, personally, I'm a fan of horror games, but as far as I've played this game, it has completely different atomsphere from others. Sometimes, it does lag in small amount when it comes to rendering big terrain but it disappears quickly. To be short, this game is as good as it can be for indie developers, and also, I had a nice time playing it.
P.S more puzzles next time :)
This game is a bit different than your usual horror games. It has the player experience a story. There is no ingame options menu, I guess the developer did that to make the player feel more alive, that might be offputting to some. I've had a few frame drops here and there but the overall experience was nice. It got me interested in a few things. In my opinion, a great indie game.
PS : The developer is a friend of mine, I tried to be as objective as possible.
The game is awfull . Do not bother.
