A perfectly normal game that is in no way disturbing.
Fingerbones is the first game from David Szymanski, well known for titles such as Iron Lung and Squirrel Stapler. This is very much a take on the note collection subgenre of horror games, and it is done well.
Not much else to say besides it is worth checking out if you want to see where the developer started.
The game was very drawen out and nothing exicting happened. Besides that i couldn´t find any diomonds.

First of all, my favourite kind of game is a free or cheap game so I come into this liking it already. I liked that the story can be pieced together with minor visual effects and that it encourages imagination.
However, there are those who are unable to read or seriously engage with a story that does not involve an fps game or sports game built around it. If you can not read, do not play this game.
Do not play this game if you do not have the patience to read a few sentences. And yes, expect to be unsettled slightly while playing a game like this. I say this because I have seen some negative reviews from individuals that simply can not read. A certain 'Pear' could not read the note on the table in the middle of the room, in order to find the name for the code. please, only engage with this game if you can read.

Good game, I like how just good set of sad music with the notes spread along the game are enough to reveal the dark disturbing story without any visuals required as gore or others.

Although I have given the game a thumbs down I will admit that this is probably the first ever time I genuinely just quit a game before even finishing it just because of how disturbing and unsettling it is. Also THAT note... What the ♥♥♥♥ man

Interesting concept. Its a slow game with easy clues.
Nothing mind-blowing but for being free I enjoyed my time with it. I felt generally tense all the way through, it did start to become annoying when like the two same soundtracks were replayed over and over.

Didn't like it very much. Been noticing a trend lately of dad's offing their kids, kind of weird. But hey! I'm not a game writer what do I know. I would've liked for them to have indicators on things? Like a light or a dot of something to show you what to point at. Otherwise you're wandering aimlessly through the game. Also didn't noticed the daughters name in the notes to open one of the doors, had to google it. It's "Katie" by the way. And for those that are interested, the last code its "Lynn" spelled backwards. I give this a 1/10 on the Pear Scale.
I mean... it certainly made me very uncomfortable so I guess it served its purpose.
This is a pretty interesting and short game. It's story is dark and disturbing. It sounds like there's quite a few people that didn't get it, but many seem to have understood it as well. Bleak stuff.
Quick playthrough! Intriguing writing and an enjoyable little game. The sound design in particular was my favorite part.

Once you figure out what happened to the world (kinda), the gloomy fire-like light outside makes sense, too.

Even though it didn't shock me personally I can see how some evil people could actually resort to such crimes so I guess it's good enough. It is scary to think about what humans are capable of if desperate and deranged enough...[/list]

Fingerbones is a short 15-25 minute psychological horror game with you doing some pretty basic puzzles while reading notes about a story. It's most comparable to 5-10 page short stories because of it, with again some basic puzzles added onto it. This is David Szymanski's first game that really plants in what I think he does the best- visceral, amazing storytelling that really has you feel something. Even if that something is uncomfortable and pure disgust. With an amazing ambient soundtrack with it, this really is a great game. A nice short free psychological experience that I would definitely recommend to anyone. It's a solid 7/10.

Wow, David Szymanski has always had that punch, hasn't he... I don't even know what to say. That one hurt, and I knew it was coming. It still hurts, even now.
[spoiler] Fingerbones is a short 20 minute puzzle/psychological horror game where you navigate a bunker following the "apocalypse", which is hinted at being a construct of the killer (whom you play as)'s mind or at least a divorce. You had locked yourself and your daughter into said bunker for safety but the solitude drove you to insanity, eventually resulting in the rape and cannibalism of your own child. While the writing throughout is decent and the atmosphere is chilling, the actual gameplay and fear factor leave much to be desired. The game largely relies on shock value to deliver the fear, which can easily fall flat for many people. The game does not attempt to make a point on the issues of rape, incest, or murder, but rather presents them and lets you decide, meaning the game was made without much intent to inform or educate and rather to just use the issues to not just further but entirely develop the plot. Overall I found the game to be worth playing for its price and I will admit the shock value was effective towards me. 6/10 [/spoiler]
Chill lil game, happy I played after so long, I just wish although I know it is suppose to a slow methodical mini horror game the movement speed was a bit faster especially as your constantly backtracking and getting lost at times and some of the objects the player getting stuck on and you go to an even slower crawl. But overall good game and an interesting story within a short period of time and I won't judge the faults of this game harshly especially as it is a free short 10-20 minute experience

Me ha gustado particularmente porque, mientras lo jugaba, no podía dejar de pensar el estupendísimo one-shot para Delta Green que se podría sacar de este microrrelato jugable.
The code to the storage room would not work, the story is quite minimal, and you walk at the speed of my car in park. That's not a good thing for this game, or my car.

Wow, this game was a [b] REALLY [/b] positive surprise.
From the moment the game started I was absolutely sucked in.
The atmosphere and storytelling is on pair with the best out there.
And that tells a lot from a small free indie game.
Be aware though that it deals with a very mature subject, so its not for everyone.
But man is it good and I cant get it out of my head.
It was over way too soon and left me longing for more.
David Szymanski, you've got a God given gift very few people have, so take good care of it.
And dont stop making games like this.

Short and with some really great scary implications by the end. This is what psychological horror games should tackle or explore more in my opinion -- implications or showcases of what the darkest part of human psyche is capable of doing when pushed in extreme situation. That implication of what we are capable of doing when morality or justice or society is not there to stop or judge us. I personally have no problems with psychological horror games exploring depression or mental illnesses. I am of the opinion that there is no such thing as overplayed trope or bad idea, as it is the execution that matters in the end. However, I do feel a bit of branching out into aspects of psychological horror terriotories and exploring concepts like this where implications of human morality crossing boundaries are used as point of horror, not just human failure in psyche.

Tem uma história, mas eu não li, então não posso falar nada sobre. Não tem tradução para Português, mesmo entendendo inglês e tendo ferramentas para ajudar, fiquei com preguiça de ler. Me desculpem.
A estética é bem bonita. Primeiro cenário, facilmente eu moraria naquele lugar.

It amazes me not how short this game is, but how disturbing it can be in the small time it takes to finish it.
Didn't need to be a game but sure whatever. Would have been a better short story. But hey it's free. Disturbing and interesting idea.
Overall ok. However bad character background story. Putting freedom of thought as the original cause for an harmful individual is the most far fetched reason I ever seen.

This is the worst walking simulator I've played. It doesn't have anything going for it: the puzzles are terrible, movement is slow, and let's not even comment the story.
I rarely - if ever - review negatively free games, but this is really not worth your time.

Просто бегай собирай письма иди к компьютеру и пиши имена из письм и все весь геймплей. Отдельно можно упомянуть хорошую музыку и дизайн локации. Игра не плохая но отрицательный за скучный геймплей и скудный сюжет. Я понял что все эти имена это 5 разных людей типо кончики пальцев хз короче.

Но, прежде чем рекомендовать ее широкой аудитории, разработчикам необходимо исправить технические проблемы и доработать некоторые аспекты геймплея. Loaded in game, read first three pages, and I figured out the ending before entering the basement.
Yet the game kept me roped in, I even caught myself hoping I was wrong, only to realize that was becoming increasingly unlikely farther I went on.
I knew I was the monster the entire time, but the ending only showed me a broken man that the world broke.
The atmosphere was perfect, best use of these graphics I've seen in a long time.
The auto was good, but it could've been better. The first scream though when leaving the basement the first time was a gut punch.
So yeah.... I recommend this game to EVERYONE.

A very short but memorable experience.
'Fingerbones' is a mechanically very simple game, and yet it is one that will leave you unsettled, with ethical and moral questions unanswered.
It is a brutal game, refreshingly so.
It is a haunted game, and yet not how you would think.
My rating is critical, but do not let that fool you.
This is a game worth trying.
Walk speed is painfully slow, and not in the 'oh, it builds anticipation' sense, and it makes the back-and-forth with hunting for notes, figuring out passwords, trekking across the place, typing them in, then trekking all the way back more irritating than spooky. Also (and this is more a personal taste thing), my main reaction to reading the notes was mostly 'ffs this guy is annoying, get a hobby and a therapist' rather than 'Oh Dear Lord, What Have You Done...'
If you're looking for a similar game but better done, try the dev's The Music Machine instead.
1/10 - Just leave.

Auch ein gutes Spiel, was zeigt, das auch ein Horror-Spiel ohne Jumpscares auskommen kann!

sound design and music are really nice, atmosphere is pretty good for it; but personally that's where it ends. it feels a little corny to me in regards to the story, or perhaps i've just seem too many similar things, but what really took me out was the mechanics; the crawling speed at which i have to walk, getting logged easily into chairs and then slowwwwwwly melting out of it so i can move again. maybe it was an intentional design to give me some sense of desperation, but instead, it only made me frustrated and reminded me this is a game where the author may have purposefully chosen to slow me down so i'd feel in such a way.
i really was not a fan of the back and forth to solve it.

Such an oppressive and suffocating atmosphere, mechanically there's not much aside from walking around and solving some puzzles but you always feel this sense of discomfort the whole way through. Strong recommend

Honestly, I didn’t expect anything good from this game because I’ve tried other free psychological horror games, and I wasn’t impressed. But this one, I actually liked. No cheap scares, just a deep story behind it. I must say that the story is what kept me from quitting early, because right from the start, it tells you a lot about the plot. The puzzles were decent, since they’re well integrated into the environment. However, it got a bit tiring because you have to go back and forth a lot. The atmosphere, just like the story, was really well done and well built.
A typical story about a crazy father and daughter. I don't see much sense in it.
At most i'd recommend because it's free and doesn't really take time to complete, but if we're going off whether it's a game worth experiencing... eh.
The Good:
Atmosphere is really well done, the sound design probably got me the most, I had to turn the game volume down a little bit at a point because of how upsetting it was. The concept of a man abandoning societal convention and that journey was an interesting one.
The Bad:
Short games are not inherently bad but if you take away the grabbing the code, going back to the first floor to put the code in, the game is maybe 5 minutes. I also think this game relies a little too much on the subject matter being disturbing. I'm not really easily shocked and I already knew what kind of subject it was going to be touching on based on the trigger warnings, so though it was a depressing game I don't think I'll be thinking of it again after I write this review.
tl;dr 4/10 experience, It's free so if you have some time to kill, why not? But I wouldn't recommend it. It's really more of a sad game than a psychological horror in my opinion.

I get easily scared and stop playing or watching or whatever, but I really wanted to experience David Szymanski as a whole, like his evolution and all, it all started here, and holy does this man had potential and used it to its fullest later on.
