I wanted to love this game but I have a horrible bug where if I go off the game and come back it freezes and I'm unable to close the game even with task manager, it happened twice in 10 minutes before I decided it wasn't worth the hassle and just refunded it

idk if this is just an issue I have but figured it was important to say incase you're thinking of buying the game

Честно говоря, хотелось увидеть больше контента в Feather, но если купить «игру» с хорошей скидкой, то на это можно закрыть глаза.

Геймплей заключается в исследовании маленького архипелага, который представляет собой разные биомы. Где‑то растёт лес, где‑то лежит снег, а где‑то — безжизненные скалы. Местами расставлены маяки, пролетая через которые можно переключать фоновую музыку и сменять свою птицу‑аватар на другую. Мне очень понравилась сова (или филин). Также на острове встречаются гроты с совсем необычным наполнением, похожим на ландшафты внеземного происхождения. Всё это можно наблюдать во время полёта. Пару раз я встречал других игроков — таких же птиц. Взаимодействовать с ними можно только посредством щебетания вашей птички.

Подытожу: Feather — это не полноценная игра, а средство для отвлечения от повседневной суеты и может стать хорошей альтернативой, когда совсем не хочется запускать другие проекты.

If you look hard enough you will probably find more than one inspiration source to what is essentially a flying sim, a very simple one, and with a second island to access via a secret portal, you get a fair bit of sightseeing to do. Not much more to say, not a big game, might be worth following the developers to see what else they create.

even as a bird myself who adores any kind of flying in video games, I could just BARELY milk 30 minutes of gameplay from this thing and that was way past the point where I had already seen the whole map and done everything available... maybe if this was literally like 1 dollar I could recommend but for now I'm unfortunately giving a thumbs down

This isn't a Game in the truest sense of the word. A game usually has something you can do, and obstacles to overcome or goals to achieve with that thing you can do.
Without goals or obstacles, a game is really just a toy, and it's up to you what you want to do with the toy.
In that sense, this is a toy and that's not a bad thing at all, because this is a very good toy.

There's lots of music to listen to, things to see, ways to play around and even challenge yourself.
Like most toys, the maker leaves it up to you what you want to do with feather
You can try and see what the limits of it are, you can play with it casually for a few minutes and then move on, or you can try to experience everything the toy can do.

I liken this toy to a puzzle box. Interracting it a bit is enough for some people, but for people like myself, the goal became seeing everything that it had to offer. If you dig a bit deeper, you may be pleasantly surprised like I was.

My suggestion to the developer is that this toy should be made free, because the length and nature of it warrant it being free.

I review games based on three principles. 1: Did I enjoy it (yes) 2: Would I play with it again (yes) and 3: Would I recommend this to close friends and family (yes I would if they want a fun toy)

Edit: apparently if other people are playing you can also see them flying around. For me there was nobody else online so I was just flying solo, but that's fine.

Sadly, I'm going to have to give this a down vote (for now, unless things change)
The game itself is fine, but my problem is I got this game to play co-op with my bf, but the co-op doesn't even feel "co-op". The rooms aren't even private like I thought they were, and whenever we were in the same room we couldn't even find each other because there's no name tags... For those reasons alone I have to give it a down vote, because it shows itself as a co-op game but it feels kinda poor? Hell I wouldn't even be too bothered if the rooms weren't private but at LEAST add name tags for people on your friends list so you know where y'all are.. It's very frustrating..

Again, I'm not trying to ♥♥♥♥ on the game, because it's a really cute game, I'm just disappointed with the "co-op".
Please at least add name tags or a way to find your friends </3

Game is good, it does exactly what it says it does; You can fly around and be a birb, find triangle portals to change your species and theres a hidden cave with a teleport to a second island. Only thing I would suggest to the dev is add a creation kit, to design you own maps, or birbs. Playing on other maps like a city for example would be fun.

Also, would be dope to have a first person mode, with or without your "body" in view and maybe adding customisation, so you can change the colours of birbs. These additions wouldnt be insane to add or implement and would help further engage with your community. :)

But more maps or challenge, race, stunt maps would be fun. :)

Very relaxing and bare bones walking (flying) simulator. The bird is relatively easy to control but the hoops to fly through are pretty small and some don't have enough clearance around it to turn and get through, and the bird can't pivot as easily as birds do in real life. But bumping into objects is forgiving and just rewinds back a bit so you can try it again.

It's exactly what the trailers show, no more or less. Good for insomnia and stress relief

It's OK for destressing. Don't expect "real gameplay", it's more of a tool to relax and distract yourself.
You fly as a bird in a low poly nature environment with some alien-looking ruins sprinkled in.
There is no objective other than explore, fly with friends or simply fool around.
You can change birds by flying through triangular gates you can find, and change soundtrack by flying through circular ones. There's some teleporters around the map.
Controls OK and has (incomplete) ultrawide support.

いろんなマップがあったり、ちょっぴりギミックがあったりする。

Feather is a strange experience for me. It’s a small sandbox game where you can just kind of fly around and explore and vibe. But it’s so calm and peaceful that it is weirdly good for winding down after a long day or even riding the wave of your anxiety. This game is seriously buggy. Every time I've tried to play it recently it just straight-up crashes and freezes the screen and there's no way to stop it without restarting my computer. Most of the 100+ minutes I've 'played' were spent trying to close the game after it suddenly froze and then also wouldn't let me exit the game. Uninstalling.

I feel like if you're in a deep thought state of mind or are looking for a game to get very very inebriated with some substances and just lose yourself in "I'm a bird and can fly" This game is fantastic.

However... I hope in the future the dev/s give us the ability to land and just look around for a little bit. That's my literal only gripe with the game is it feels a little too fast paced in that it's hard to find a good place to sit down and just enjoy the world around you.

Music and sound are a 8/10, world and characters are created in a cute style, but yeah. I wish you could just land somewhere and look around for a little bit, and that there was a little more of a goal to do. All I could find to do was go through the portals and see where I ended up or what bird I ended up as.

Overall, if you're someone that just wants to waste a few hours with music and or a relaxing experience, the game is great for that. If you're someone that needs more goals/structure though it will get boring very fast.

Feather is honestly, an enjoyably chill experience, a very simple yet relaxing game to unwind to, however there isn't much substance to the game, it feel's almost more like a tech demo than a full game, maybe I've just missed the point of it but I was really hopeful there would be more too do. It's maybe a better and a more enjoyable experience via it's multiplayer, but it didn't feel like there was enough to warrant spending the time to find out. Regardless it was still a pleasant experience and I would still recommend it especially while it's on sale!

As a game this is bad. Look at the trailer. That's it, there's nothing else thats not in the first ten seconds of the trailer.

Its pretty with good visuals and music with decent flying mechanics. But its a large empty world where you can see everything the game has to offer in ten minutes.

I feel like you can go for the whole "zen game play" and still include minor objectives like flying towards a goal or collecting items. Something to idle my time while I enjoy the music and still have a meaningful experience. A good example of this is the Grow series (Grow Up and Grow Home) where all you really do is grow plants and scan or collect items. Or even a short hike, which similarly features flying mechanics, item collection, and minor characters. Both of those games are calming and enjoyable.

So this has potential, its a proof of concept for a game, but its not a game.

If you don't treat it as a game its cool. Do a breathing exercise while you fly around for a few minutes and then close out of it.

I wouldn't suggest paying more than $1-2 for this game.

It is a lovely game where you are a bird that flying around an island BUT there is nothing to do in it. You can go around and try to find triangle gates that change the bird you are flying (there are also round gates I could not figure out what they do), but that is literally it so it gets boring after 5 minutes :( It is absolutely not worth 9,75€.

To get it to work on Linux I had to use Proton version 3.16-9 otherwise all I would get is a white screen. But it is very likely it works fine again from version 5 on.

Clairement, votre serviteur ne s’attendait pas à passer une courte session de jeu aussi paisible.
Ce jeu est une map à découvrir en étant un oiseau (on peut changer d’oiseau en cours de partie), avec de délicieuses musiques calmes qui m’ont pratiquement apaisé.

Feather ne propose pas d’histoire, mais un gameplay très solide. Le vol de notre petit oiseau est vraiment très agréable manette en main, et le monde est conçu pour être facilement "volable".

Mais ce qui m’a conquis le plus (autre que les musiques qui sont du miel versé dans mes oreilles), c’est le monde de Feather : on passe dans de nombreuses zones qui ont, pour la grande majorité, leur charme.

Je vais clairement garder le jeu sous le coude pour y faire jouer certaines personnes qui ont plusieurs a priori sur les jeux vidéo, ou juste quand j’aurai envie de me détendre.

Do you like games without a goal to relax with? Did you like the screenshots, videos, and think this is a game you'll enjoy? Then you'll likely enjoy it! If you need a game with goals and things to accomplish, it's probably not for you.

It works great at what it sets out to do! The controls feel great and it's fun to fly around and just be a bird for a bit.

In my opinion, this game is absolutely NOT worth the full price for what you can do in it, wich is nearly nothing.

There's nothing to do other than fly around and find rings to change your appearance or the music. Its extremely boring, no quests, no goals, just flying. Your bird is really slow and the map is not that big, its pretty, but small. That might be a good thing for some people, but personally i expected something more from this game for that price.

Its the first time I play something like it, its very calming.

I only played 5 minutes, because thats about where my enjoyment ended, because you cant really do much thats not shown in the pictures / videos. I can imagine its a great game for the right people and to those people it might be worth the tall asking price of currently 10 €.

If it was a buck or two Id have no issue with recommending it. For 10 it simply doesnt deliver enough content in my opinion, but if you are into these relaxing games I can see you having a lot of enjoyment with it <3

Pretty game with basically nothing to do.

You are a bird that's flying around a pretty, albeit fairly small island. Point your mouse in the direction you want to fly, and that is where your bird will go. Press shift to go a bit faster. That is pretty well the extent of the game.

Flying is easy and intuitive, but boring. Your bird is slow and there is basically no conservation of momentum. If you enter a steep dive you will go faster, but it doesn't really affect the handling that much. There is no wind or thermals to play around with.

Gameplay wise you can fly though these circular portals that seem to do absolutely nothing, or fly through triangular portals that transform your bird into a different species with (I think) slightly different handling characteristics.

Somewhere on the island is a hidden portal that will take you to a second island that you can explore, but it also has nothing to do.

If not for the fact I accidentally left this game running in the background when I first got it I would probably return it, which considering I got it 80% off for $2.50 is not much of an endorsement.

would be better as a screensaver or moving wallpaper. it's just a simple environment that you fly around, no goals or story and not a lot you can actually 'do'. it calls itself 'immersive' but you can't even land (correction, you can land on some very specific perches but nothing else, and i only found this out by checking discussions) and when you hit things you just get pushed back in time so you can avoid the collision, rather than it having consequences or any kind of physics. there seem to be a few things you can interact with (like fruit and pinwheels) but no reason to do so, except some structures you can fly through change your appearance or the bg music. i would rather have gotten to choose my bird at the start, and for music to simply change naturally like a radio.

keyboard controls were also jank, but even after switching to controller, i did not feel like a bird and i didn't see any reason to keep playing instead of just putting on a video of someone else doing it. only positives are the free achievement just for launching the game and a brief few minutes where my cat saw the bird on the screen and got interested, but even she soon grew bored.

i think i was expecting something like 'AER; Memories of Old', which i didn't know of when i bought this game. this seems to just be a very watered down version of that game. if feather at least had achievements for collecting the different birds or interacting with different things, and let you land anywhere, i could maybe get behind it. the total lack of direction and forced constant flight were big negatives in a game where the only real positive is 'it's pretty'.

This is a nice game to relax, and it's even multiplayer! You can just fly around and visit places, find new birds, songs, and portals...
The sounds (FX and music) do 50% of the job here. They kinda compensate for the sub-tier animations (landing, pose while on the ground, no walking, etc).
There seem to be colictibles (fruits, lit up bonfires, etc) but there apparently no rewards or effects to collect them.

I played 12 minutes and then didn't play again for months.

I'm currently only playing this to get my last 2 card drops so I can uninstall it.
It's a pretty game, I don't have anyone to play with so maybe the multiplayer aspect makes it a tad bit more enjoyable.... but I got 12 minutes out of it before I felt I had seen everything the game had to offer, which is essentially flying around an island and seeing some stuff.

작은 섬 안에 꽤 많은 상호작용과 디테일이 숨어있어 그걸 찾는게 재미있음.

처음에는 OST와 외형변화 정도만 있다고 생각했는데 하늘로 보내버리는 워프통로를 발견한 뒤부터 이런 것들이 더 있을까? 하고 찾아다녔더니 수중동굴이나 다른 섬으로 가는 길이 존재하는 걸 찾아내서 굉장히 기분이 좋았음.

아주 오랜만에 어떤 공략이나 지시 없이 순수하게 마음가는대로 행동하고 거기에 대한 새로운 발견과 경험을 해서 그런가 괜히 뭉클해짐..

혼자인줄만 알았던 섬에 다른 새가 들어와 함께 빙글빙글 돌면서 짹짹 거리거나, 밤이 되었을 때 큰 구름을 뚫고 하늘 끝까지 올라가서 달과 마주하거나, 동굴을 돌아다니다 나왔더니 수평선 너머 해가 떠오르는 것을 보는 것은 글로는 전달 할 수 없는 감동이 있음.

개인적으로 어딘가 던져놓고 네 마음대로 해 라고 하는 게임들을 굉장히 싫어하는 편이고 무성의 하다고 생각하는 편인데, 이 게임은 맵이 너무 넓지도, 너무 좁지도, 요소가 너무 많지도, 너무 적지도 않은 적당히 편안한 정도라고 생각함.

이정도는 있었어도 괜찮지 않을까 싶기도 했는데, 수집품의 개념으로 OST와 외형을 모으고 언제든지 원할 때 바꿀 수 있다거나 짤막한 스토리 같은게 있었으면 어땠을까 싶음.

다만 무언가를 하라고 하지 않았기에 이 모든걸 경험할 수 있던거라 생각하기에, 정말로 저런게 있기를 바라기 보다는 그냥 내가 좋아하게 된 이 게임의 재미를 느끼지 못한 사람들에게 이렇게라도 즐길 수 있는 계기를 마련해주고 싶은 아쉬움이 아닐까..

후속작 만들어주고 BGM 좀 팔아줘잉~

Most relaxing flight sim ever. Its a fantastic combination of Good music, simple but great flight mechanics, and exploration. However, there really isn't a lot of content to this game. This game is good, however, this is the most boring game I've ever played though and I would play this game and not refund it if I knew what to do and had a more challenging time than this I would actually play this game if it was a little more harder and a lot faster, not to mention how there is no tutorial currently, leaving me not knowing what to do, and how to beat this game, if it were something more like a survival game, I would've given you the benefit of the doubt but since this is not a survival game similar to a game like raft or minecraft, this game is just a snoozefest and just generally very boring.

It’s an alright game. It’s pretty, but there is no gameplay. Also, the island is fairly small, so there isn’t much to explore. I also found the controls hard to use on an Xbox controller. I would only buy it if it’s on a good sale or if you want it for crafting badges and achievements.

Feather is a very niche game. It's essentially a "walking sim" where you are a bird, but there is only about 20 minutes of content, so you will have to be really, really into the flight mechanics for it to make sense as a purchase. I like walking sims, and I especially like peaceful flying games, but this one wasn't it for me.

Rather than doing the procgen landscapes of Superflight, Feather gives you two small islands with a cave system. This is good and bad - the good is you never get a random landscape that is frustrating to fly through. The bad is after you flew through it, that's all there is. There isn't much sense of wonder or discovery. Fly through a circle portal to change the music. (So no, you don't get music that matches the environment like Proteus either.) Fly through a triangle portal to change the color of your bird. Apparently at totally random intervals the weather and time of day will change, not in a smooth, glorious sunset kind of a way, but in an abrupt smash-cut that often blinds you.

So then you crash into a wall. But it doesn't matter because time rewinds and you can avoid the crash.

The idea is that it's a relaxing, meditative game, but for me Superflight was more relaxing despite the tension of the death mechanic because you can just float endlessly through different worlds, and you never fly through a ravine and then pop out and go "oh wait, I'm back where I started, now what?" If you want bespoke landscapes to fly through, I think AER: Memories of Old is a better choice.

在一众飞行类游戏中，这部游戏的确算得上是比较优质的。
比起AER和风旅，它可以说是一点故事性都不带有的，属于是纯纯的一款自由探索类游戏。游戏内有2个地图，而且也能说得上大，但1个小时也能粗略探索完。整体的画质还是挺不错的，和AER比较相似。
然后，我觉得，这部游戏最大的特点，还得是游戏内音乐。
讲真，它的BGM是真的多，随便飞飞就能看到一个圆环进行BGM的切换，尤其是地图2。2个地图9首音乐。感觉作者原来是想做一款音游，但做着做着就做成了开放性游戏。
虽然话是这么说，但游戏还是很好玩的。祝大家玩得愉快。我先去卸载了！【doge】

The first 5 minutes of the game gave me a feeling I'd enjoy it very much, just as I enjoyed other games with naught but flight mechanics (e.g. Superflight). However, there just isn't enough.

I'm cool with the game having no objectives, but I played this one for maybe 30-45 minutes (Steam time is skewed) and I couldn't tell if that was really "it", or I was just missing something. I had to leave the game and Google it to realize that ~20 minutes of flying around is all you get. It would be really nice to at least be able to see if you're "done" or not from within the game itself, because I felt like there was supposed to be a lot more to it and just kept aimlessly flying around, trying to find that hidden content.

Nonetheless, this game has its great moments. It felt fantastic to fly around an island for a while and then discover a whole underground world beneath it. And it was magical to meet other birds in what felt like "yours only" world. But that's about it.

I saw only a few negative reviews and didn't think the game would be that bad because most reviews are good. The concept seemed interesting to me personally, as I'm very into relaxing games. Within 20 minutes, I had already done everything there was to do in the game and I couldn't believe how I had wasted my money on it. The world is extremely small, and I didn't feel relaxed at all knowing I had seen everything there was to see. Frustrating, bad gameplay, and extremely short.

这款游戏真的非常漂亮，而且非常的休闲和放空，除了听着音乐飞行你不必做任何事。这样的设计本意是很好的，但是，是否有点太空洞了，没有成就、没有目的，那游戏也就失去了游戏的意义，那些散落于各处的圆形三角形光环也仅仅是让你换首歌或者换个外形，没法激起玩家的兴趣。
在游玩20分钟左右的样子，我已经探索完整个地图，不得不说地下洞穴和海上日出真的绝美。不过当我飞行在空中时，我看着空无一兽的地面以及自己孤独的影子，我感到有些失落...我失去了重心，放开了键盘坠向地面，在一声清脆的撞击后画面变为了灰白，我永远地结束了这款游戏...
这样漫无目的的禅意究竟是否正确？我难以评价，至少在体验的前期我的内心是震撼的，此类飞行模拟器确实带给了我心灵上的触动但也仅此而已了，一折入手并不贵，我惋惜的并不是那几块钱，而是这款游戏。以至于让我反思这样的禅意真的是制作省略的借口吗？明明可以加入一些故事，明明可以加入一些互动，明明可以加入一些生物，明明可以加入一些收集...

不过该游的飞行手感还算不错，一折入手值得一试❤

遊戲本身沒有任何目的，就是到處逛逛的純藝術作品
將大部分的地方都逛了一遍
一共有兩個大世界與相當多可互動的物品+豐富的地形

有許多可以觸發或互動的物件
接觸到環型時可以變成另一種鳥，同時叫聲也會改變
慢慢逛地圖會發現除了世界本身很神奇外
地圖上有非常多的人造物
然而所有的生物都不復存在，彷彿在敘述一個世界末日的故事
