Solid classic HOG dripping with magical atmosphere. Two storylines, each about two hours on expert, and it never overstays its welcome. Puzzles are good, hidden object scenes are nothing special but do the job. Art is old school hand drawn and honestly still looks pretty. Worth picking up if you're into the genre.

예전에 핸드폰으로 많이 했던 G5시리즈의 형식이라 재미있게 했어요.
이런 게임의 번역은 애초에 기대도 안했지만 역시나 개똥망이네요 하핳
실망을 주지 않는군요. 번역이 제대로 되어있을 거라는 생각은 그냥 버리세요.
숨은 그림 찾기 게임인 만큼 잘 숨겨놨기 때문에 잘 보셔야해요.
보이는 게 끝이 아닙니다.
뒤늦게야 리뷰 쓰는데 가격이 오른거 같네요.
할인할 때 구매하시는 걸 추천합니다.

- чайник - это котёл;
- прищепка - это булавка;
- орнамент - ёлочный шарик весь целиком, а не рисунок на нём;
- бурдюк - это БУФЕТ, боги, я не смог не поорать с поиска буфета. Впрочем, на тот момент доверия к переводу уже не было, в последнем хотя бы две первые буквы совпали, так что верх водопада уже встречаешь с покерфейсом, потому что хотя бы уже знаешь, что искать;
- найти часы - это найти на экране 4 разных вида часов и правильным будет только четвёртый;
- а как вам найти камень, когда буквально весь низ локации - это камни?
Остальное на фоне даже можно не упоминать (типа утка - это не просто утка, а трость с набалдашником утки), потому что это даже уже менее странно.
В принципе, сама игра, когда хочется расслабленного проходнячка, - неплоха. Приятный в принципе сюжетец, пусть и совершенно незатейливый, головоломочки чисто на разгрузить голову, ну и в принципе без напряга. Графика - для меня обычно не на первом месте, особенно в таких играх, так что ничего о ней не скажу. Не аховая, но мне норм.
Но вот эти сцены поиска предметов... Это просто пример какого-то газлайтинга (часы меня убили в этом плане, один раз с чашами так же было) и вообще нездоровых отношений.
Оценку придётся поставить отрицательную, потому что нет нейтральной. К сожалению, перевод просто перевешивает чашу весов.

Game was fine except for one God awful marble puzzle in the bonus chapter. Not only was the color scheme overly bright and horrendous, but it was confusing as heck and had to skipped. This gamer almost never skips puzzles.

一般，16年的游戏来说，过于无聊了。。通篇都是寻物，来回来去的寻物，为了寻物而寻物，为了移动而移动。。而且画面不太好，寻物也不容易。。更重要而是，寻物翻译的稀烂。。你不会知道烟斗是罐子。。

Solides HO Game mit relativ vielen Suchbildern. Ich habs im "Profi-Modus" gespielt für das Achievement und war in 3 Stunden inklusive Bonus Level durch. Die Suchbilder sind eher leicht bis mittelschwer, während bei den Mini-Games ein paar (lösbare) Kopfnüsse dabei waren.

Эта часть относится к классическим сериям с классическими достижениями, где нужно было проходить игру ещё и на уровне эксперта. Тут ещё нет скрытых коллекционных предметов, но зато вполне можно насладиться вдоволь разглядыванием очередной вещички.
История тут повествует о некоем кукловоде, который может манипулировать людьми. Главной героине нужно его остановить. И соответственно нужно пробираться через поиск применение, а также некоторые головоломки. Особых затыков в плане получения достижений не было и можно пройти даже без руководства. Так что ещё одна идеальная игра на вечер для любителей потыкать мышкой.
Из плюшек магазина полный стандартный набор. Жаль только. что игры серии стали намного дороже даже по скидке...
Jogo ótimo, os desafios poderiam ser um pouco mais complexos. Principalmente no momento de encontrar os itens da lista conforme solicitado, mas tirando isso o jogo agradou bastante.
I played "Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden" before this one. I didn't enjoy that, so I'm not surprised I didn't enjoy this.
It's probably not my business to be leaving negative reviews on a genre I'm finding isn't for me, but each of these games had an aspect I felt I could critique regardless of my subjective experience. In Abyss, it was a game-breaking design flaw that killed my completion run. Here, it's just a comparatively lacking experience. I can tell what people liked about Abyss but didn't like about this game. Abyss had harsh limits to the world it built and the story it told, but it wasn't mostly from lack of ambition. I said the game failed to invoke Lovecraft and Bioshock, but it accomplished a lot more in setting and atmosphere than this game. What exactly is "Fairy Tale" about random houses and sewers? Abyss also had a cast that was uninspired, but it was at least organic to the story. Here, I keep getting visits and notes from "The Brothers Grimm," because they wrote fairy tales, so that's why they're telling me everything I have to do. Also, very Avengers with that "magic bean" shout-out at the end. I'm so hype. /s
Abyss made me angry, but this just made me feel numb. Tuning out the story and using hints more liberally to get me to the puzzles just turned the game into a checklist, leading me to conclude that Artifex Mundi games just aren't my style. However, even outside of my preference, I don't think this is worth your money. Though Abyss pissed me off more, it is objectively a better game aside from the design issue I describe in detail in my review, and both are $15. Spend your money wisely, hidden object fans.

Picking a setting and then immediately discarding it is discordant to the player as it removes bounds and structure to the narrative world building.

缺点：翻译太差。画面太阴暗，单词找物太多了，无尽无尽的找，但凡发现卡关了，指不定是哪里的垃圾堆又亮了……谜题设计的一点也不合理。
总结：玩了AM公司超20部作品，这是最差最差的一款，比伊莎贝拉、时间之谜1还烂。

Definitely one of the better Artifex Mundi games, if not for the art style, but for the extra bonus level. Interesting story, decent puzzles. A great way to while away the time.
This one is just so much worse than the other fiary tale mystery, the downfall of this franchise should be studied, I don't like the puppet I like the giant a lot better

Annoying mini-games, but plenty of hidden objects scenes.
I was not the biggest fan of this Artifex Mundi hidden object game. There is better ones from them to pick and play instead.
Ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen (was man sieht), und ja, es gibt auch bessere Spiele dieser Art, aber es funktioniert. Die Rätsel sind eher einfach, die Wimmelbildszenen ebenso. Es gibt eine Karte, die Teleportation zu den aktuellen Schauplätzen ermöglicht.
Das Spiel ist insgesamt eher einfach, die Art und Weise wie es gemacht ist, wie es sich spielt. Man ist schnell damit durch. Für Tage, an denen man einfach kein Stress-Spiel oder so gebrauchen kann geeignet. Für größere Herausforderungen eher nicht. Im Sale kaufen, dann passt es.

Quite a good HOG. Only letdown with this one is the locations are grouped as areas on the map making it difficult at times to determine where to go with the story - especially when HOP's appear randomly and sometimes needing to backtrack.
Puzzles were good and varied, and there are plenty of HOP's to find throughout the game.
One of the really bad HO games that Atrifex Mundi only published but didn't develop, those can be very hit or miss and this is definitly a miss. Silly story (but that's not an issue by itself), but were it really fails is in the horrendous graphics, especially in the hidden object parts. Instead of the pretty colorful graphics of, let's say Grim Legends you get what looks like if someone sneezed out a library of clip art from 1992 with no rime or reason to a consistent artstyle, scale or design. The puzzles are your standard puzzle game fare with some minor inventory puzzles.
I got it dirt cheep in a bundle so can't say I regret buying it, but it's definitly on the bad side of this genre.

Not really a bad game... But not one of the ones you would tell your parents about.
I agree with others that say this isn't like other Artifex Games and well... It's just that everything feels sub-par.
The story is... Super simple and it's like they wrote you a reason to chase a bad guy. Nothing overly crazy or even twist-like happens and you can even easily figure out the ending.
Although story-telling isn't the greatest in H.O.G.s (NOT ALL!)... At least H.O. scenes or item finding/placing is, right? Right...?
I felt like Hidden Object scenes were far too simple. There were maybe like three items I had problems with and I finished each one of these scenes in practically under a minute (and no... I am not expert. AT ALL. Like it's that simple).
Finding items in the environment isn't hard either... But sometimes you can easily overlook something because it's either blended in or you didn't even think there would be anything worthwhile there. Mini games are also on the simpler side... The only reason one might skip one or two... Is due to a patience factor.
There is a map to tell you where an "Action" is... However... IT POINTS TO THE ENTIRE AREA. So you gotta go through 1-5 rooms and find where to use the object on. You also gotta remember some parts to solve puzzles and I know how hard that can be for short attention spanned people... XD
There were also no cute animals and that is usually a bonus with these games. But okay. *shrugs*

看了评论说有翻译错误所以调了英文玩，仍然是一坨，画面糊光影暗，解密要素很少全是在找东西，而且除了进入新场景必备的物品外，其余都是没逻辑的散布在前后各个场景之中，特别是专家模式的话也没有互动提示，不得不满屏幕乱点，不知道乐趣在哪儿。。
C'est vraiment un très bon jeu et très bien fait et j'ai bien aimé jouer car il est super intéressent et les jeux sont super.

Mostly easy to follow the clues. It's the overlapping balls in circles that gave me difficulty! I remembered screen shots this time, so the sequence is easy to follow.
This game was fun! Loved the story a lot it was creepy and interessting ngl. The riddles was challenging and I had fun with the Hidden Objects scenes. Even tho it felt like there was toooo many of them but thats fine. The Bonus chapter felt....hmm how to say a little useless? But even this was fun. Good game.

I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

А тут у нас очередной hidden object от моего любимого издателя Artifex Mundi. Жаль что на этот раз мне попался проходняк.
Еще с давних времен люди пересказывали друг другу страшные истории и легенды, которые впоследствии обрастали ужасающими подробностями. Но была в этих историях и крупица истины, которая была тщательно скрыта под толстым слоем несуществующих подробностей. В маленьком городке Арборшир была популярна история про злого кукольника, который крал души души детей и превращал их в деревянные куклы. Долгое время этой историей пугали детвору, но однажды жители этого городка и правда накликали на себя беду - в окрестностях стали пропадать дети. Вскоре выяснилось что здесь орудует сильный волшебник, который собирается исполнить запретный ритуал, чтобы обрести могущество. Детективное агенство Братьев Гримм направляет нашу главную героиню расследовать преступления, совершенные колдуном, чтобы остановить его злодеяния и спасти детей-кукол.
Несмотря на то что игра вышла в 2016 году рисовка тут из позднего 2010. Если подгадать момент, то об некоторые текстуры можно смело намылить руки. Как сюжетно, так и геймплейно это максимально ленивый и проходной hidden object, где даже не удосужились положить нормальное количество контента. Головоломок и сцен с поисками предметов здесь преступно мало, а все остальное время мы будем просто носиться по локациям без быстрого перемещения, чтобы воткнуть одну деталь и снова отправиться на другой конец города. Я, как человек, который попробовал много игр такого жанра не могу пройти мимо этой халтуры и лени. Даже первый Enigmatis, который вызывал у меня спорные ощущения, играется намного лучше и выглядит более стильно чем данный продукт (а ведь он в 2011 году вышел). В общем мне не понравился этот hidden object и я бы порекомендовал не тратить на него время, но тут уже дело вкуса, а низкая цена так и манит попробовать все лично.
A bit older, but still fun Artifex Mundi HOG classic game.
The story couldn't catch me fully, but it wasn't distracting either (a bit much of magic hocus pocus for my taste), but the objects were hidden in plenty of scenes - also (as i'm not a native EN speaker and didn't change the language to DE) it was fun learning a few more EN words and figuring out the possible matching items XD
The 1st playthrough of the base game itself plus the bonus mission in normal mode took me about 3,5hrs (including the search for things so i take as many achievements as possible on my way), while the last speedrun on hardest mode (to get 100% achievements) took me about 1hr.
If you get it on sale and want a bit harder HOG scenes, this might be for you, and even for the ~10€ it costs regular it's ok (i spent more on worse things) if you want to support Artifex Mundi.
Maybe even better start with this one, as other AM games have a better story (at least imo).

I don't think this was the worst of HOP games because it was fine for me.
I think that some may like this game but there will be some who won't like this.
Especially since the gameplay is a very typical [b]classic[/b] HOP game where you [u]"find and use items"[/u], then [u]"solve mini-game puzzles and HOP"[/u]. Please be warned that the mini-game puzzles lacks variety and there are a repetition of mini-games like the sliding puzzles and matching pairs. I have played a game with a more developed gaming style so if there is someone who is new to the genre they might find this game enjoyable but veteran players might find this game lacking. THIS IS A VERY BASIC GAME so I suggest the player proceed with the game with this in mind.

The story looked promising at first with the player being part of The Brother's Grimm association. There was introduction scene to the problem of the story. You are introduced with a function that you can interact with people (╥﹏╥) sadly this feature was never used again in the entire game. Also, there was a mob that sadly disappeared off screen never to be seen again(╥﹏╥) Although there was an explanation on why there was no people on the street. (；⌣̀_⌣́)Still there are many things left [b]unseen[/b] in the story which was somehow explained that people doesn't need to know what good the player has done(；￣Д￣) I was fine with that but I somehow wanted a thank you from the helper (that didn't help much but had a lot of interaction with) [spoiler]In the beginning the player was introduced to the Silver Magician that was supposed to aid the player but was worried about his daughter. He asked the player for help to save his daughter. He was badly injured with fighting the puppet master but was sadly forgotten because I didn't saw if he was fine or not. Nor was there an image of him reuniting with his daughter.[/spoiler] There are a lot of things that was shown but never seen again in this game that people might find unsatisfying.
This is a very standard Hidden Object Game. It's not very long (I was afk for around 6 of those 8 hours) and I really wouldn't suggest playing full price, but at a good discount it's not a bad buy.

I know my time stamp says I played for 12 hours but that's because I fell asleep with it open. I'd say it was closer to 1.5hr to complete the game. Definitely on the shorter side and there was a lack of closure that kind of... made the whole game fall flat. That being said, if it's ever on sale, it's worth a little bit for a HOG. Not the best or worst I've played. 5/10

I feel like I should not have enjoyed this game as much as I did. I remembered playing a cool hidden object game involving some sort of puppet thing about five years ago. A month ago though, I felt the strange urge to play it again but I could not remember the game. So, I combed through many hidden object games until I found this one, the one I had been looking for. Sure, the face animation could be horrifying at time, and the story was disconnected, and the game is short, and some of the puzzles are very easy. But, I genuinely enjoyed playing this game. It's also nice that there is a bonus chapter (which takes about 30 min) and achievements which are fun to collect. The one thing I will say though, is DO NOT BUY THIS GAME AT FULL PRICE. It was 90% off when I bought it so it was only $1 which I feel is a good price for this game and the content you get. $10 is way to much especially since the while game can be completed in about 2.5 hours. But, overall I recommend this game and give it a 6.9/10!
The game is certainly an older style of hidden object puzzle game. It reminds me a lot of Demon Hunter: Chronicles from Beyond, in terms of the style of art, the gameplay, etc. It even shares that darker tone that a lot of the other more fantasy-oriented hidden object puzzle games don't have.
There are some good things and some bad things. The music seems mostly to be just 1 or 2 tracks, but I like the ambient music of this game, there are some environmental sounds mixed in like the wind blowing and I feel like the music fit the aesthetics of the game perfectly, unlike Demon Hunters music which grated on me.
I don't remember if there are collectibles in Demon Hunter, but there are none in this game, the map is the old style of map where not everyplace is listed on the map, just certain hubs. The hidden object puzzles have no complex items, like things where the item is in a locked chest, so you find a key in the scene and use it on the chest to open it. And I didn't mind this, but in spite of this, the puzzles were still very challenging, took me a while to finish one under 1 minute for the achievement.
There was a bonus adventure though, which was nice.
Only big gripe I have is the achievement to finish the game on expert. It's fine, but I'm not using a mouse, I'm using a touchscreen on a tablet, and this makes the game unnecessarily hard on a mode like expert.
But overall I enjoyed it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Musik ist passend & ordentlich und auch das Voice Acting ist gar nicht mal so schlecht

Fabuła gry w porządku, ale grafika na dość niskim poziomie.
Well, yeah... hard to recommend this one. And not even because it is that horrible. It's just too archaic. Very poor set of puzzles and mini games. Even visuals are clearly dated and unrepresentable. Each time when I was about to start another hidden object scene, I was like "ah, damn, once again I have to spoil my eyes, by searching for dim junk, in dim locations with dim lighting".
On the other hand, the story seemed quite good. Music? - nothing prominent. Can't say anything concrete. The game even has a bonus chapter - same pros, same cons. It was released in 2016? - Ridiculous. Hard to imagine that something like this could appear after Grim Legends 1 and 2.
I'd say that probably it belongs to 2005-2008th. Seems like they thad some old and unused scetches, so they just decided to combine it somehow... [i]Somehow[/i] indeed... In the end - I can recommend it solely for the collection. Get it as a part of a bundle and only on sale.
"Fairy Tale Mysteries: The Puppet Thief" ist ein klassisches Wimmelbildspiel.
Ein fieser Puppenspieler hat mit Hilfe von reichlich Magie die Kinder eines Dorfes entführt. Also die Maus in die Hand genommen und gegen den üblen Schergen losziehen.
Spielmechanisch sind wir im ganz klassischen Wimmelbild-Wahnsinn, in dem es in Screens darum geht, bestimmte Objekte zu finden. Wie meist üblich kommen noch einige Schiebe- und Kombinationsrätsel hinzu, alles aufgelockert durch ein paar Cutscenes. Ein rudimentäres Inventar haben wir sogar auch, in dem wir wie in einem Adventure Gegenstände sammeln.
Logik oder irgendeine Form von Stringenz sollten wir allerdings nicht erwarten. Das Spiel gehört zu denen, die sich nicht darum scheren, ob die Rätsel oder die Geschichte irgendeinen Sinn macht. Alles wirkt wild zusammengewürfelt und meist weiß man gar nicht, wieso man eigentlich gerade nach irgendwas sucht.
Das fällt aber auch nicht weiter auf, denn die Rätsel sind dermaßen simpel, daß man gar nicht dazu kommt, über irgendwelche inhaltlichen Fragen nachzudenken. Das Game spielt sich einfach so nebenher weg. Häufig sind gefundene Sachen sogar direkt neben dem Ort, an dem sie eingesetzt werden müssen.
Das Spiel bietet keinerlei Herausforderung, ist aber technisch zumindest in sauberem Zustand. Alles funktioniert unproblematisch so wie es soll. Grafik und Sound sind für den Genrestandard zumindest akzeptabel.
Hat man das Wimmelbild-Spiel dann nach recht kurzer Zeit durchgezockt gibt es immerhin noch eine kurze Zusatzgeschichte, die allerdings genauso simpel und unlogisch bleibt.
Zu empfehlen ist das Game wirklich nur für diejenigen, die gerne im Spielfluß bleiben, denen Herausforderungen nicht wichtig sind und die Spiele gerne nebenbei wegspielen.

игра прикольная, но не без минусов. Во первых это графика. Все картинки размыленные. Во вторых это поиск предметов: Слишком мало предметов нужно искать, ну и конечно же это перевед некоторых предметов, при поиске которых без подсказок или тыкания на рандом не поможет. Если что лопата - это всегда мастерок. Сюжет тоже не совсем на уровне. Главного злодея встречаем в середине и в конце, где мы его побеждаем за минуту. Хотелось бы какую-нибудь интересную развязку. Ну а так игра своих денег стоит. Рекомендую.

워낙 이 회사 게임을 좋아해서 게임자체는 재밌게 즐겼는데,
딱 한가지.. 한글 번역이 최악이다.
숨은 그림을 찾아야하는데 단어 번역 상태가 엉망이라 도저히 찾을 수가 없는 수준.
나비를 나비넥타이라고 적어놓질 않나, 체스말(킹)을 왕관이라고 적어놓질 않나
힌트쓰지 않고 숨은 그림 찾기를 전부 완료하는 도전과제가 있어서 힌트도 못쓰는데 결국 오브젝트를 하나하나 다 눌러보고서야 찾을 수 있었다 .....
아니 그놈의 나비는 죄다 나비넥타이라고 적어놔서 이 후에 나비넥타이라고 뜨면 열심히 나비만 찾았는데
또 어느 스테이지에선 멀쩡하게 나비텍타이 그림이 있다. 어쩌라는 말이냐.

made my head hurt :( which is kinda sad because i've been loving the AM hidden object games, but this one was just Not It. i even initially thought that it was just the age of the game, but there were a lot of HOGs made in 2016 that are a lot better art and plot-wise. i didn't even play the bonus game.
Fairy Tale Mysteries: The Puppet Thief hints at the next in the series, The Beanstalk. It is a point & click adventure HOG. Everyone likes puppets, right? There is something therapeutic about going after an evil guy who is pulling all the strings. There is something satisfying about cutting the strings & freeing people. Sometimes you go after a bad guy & learn he was just a puppet, too. You get to talk to the famous Grimm brothers as well as other characters, travel to several locations, solve HOS, solve puzzles, & play mini-games which are all blended into the story. Lovely artwork. A lot of imagination and creativity to make this game.

수집요소도 없는데 완료 구역은 막아뒀으면 좋았을텐데 아쉽다.

The inexplicable circumstances of the disappearance of children and the mysterious puppet theatre in the dark tale of the Brothers Grimm. Interesting puzzles and lots of items to find :). I recommend it.
Para ser un juego de Artifex me decepciono, no digo que sea malo, el sonido y la ambientación es buena, pero la jugabilidad deja mucho que desear. Es la primera vez que no puedo recomendar un juego, por el simple hecho de que es pesado. Si es cierto que este tipo de juegos debe tener escenas de objetos ocultos, pero se pasa de estas y no deja lugar a la creatividad, sin contar que las veces que usas los objetos es escasa. Ademas, la historia no ayuda en mucho y sus notas más que ayudar confunden. Lo terminé porque es un juego corto, me falta el capítulo extra. Yo lo acabé simplemente porque tengo su secuela y no quería quedarme sin probarla. Diría que si estás muy aburrido puedes jugarlo, es para pasar el rato, nada más.

Having played several other Artifex Mundi hidden object games, what is different in this one is that it relies pretty heavily on the hidden object side.
You still have some puzzles and some point 'n click adventuring to do, but like other early Artifex Mundi games, this one also has a lot of hidden object parts, and they are very straightforward without separate areas and whatnot.
It also has some hillarious incompatible objects for the apparent time of the narrative of the story... say like a Swiss Army Knife in a medieval setting, stuff like that.
The story itself is a mix of folklore, magic, witchcraft, and a journalist/detective story - the genre most Artifex Mundi games also delve into.
People who are not particularly interested in the hidden object part of these types of games probably won't like this one a whole lot... but you know, I think it's an early game from them, and if you don't mind them, it's a pretty enjoyable entry. I personally liked it. :D

Once upon a time, there was a man who went from town to town with songs and poetry, capturing the souls of children. From generation to generation, the tale was told. But every fairy tale has its true bitter beginning. Now a new evil has visited the town of Arbourshire, and children have been going missing. A mysterious puppet theatre seems to be at the centre of their disappearance. The town is in an uproar! A mob roams the streets and the Brothers Grimm have assigned to you the task of discovering the truth behind the Fairy Tale Mystery! Discover the truth behind the myth and save the children!
Even more than a whopping forty intriguing locations have to be discovered, nineteen mini games to be played, and twenty-two hidden object scenes have to be completed. Accompanied with lots of background story, all set in a mid nineteenth century setting.
Art style of the game is overall less cartoony, compared to other AM HOG. With gritty, dingy touchy, backgrounds. Some of the locations, most of them are in the bonus chapter: Bella Isle, are obviously made with less effort and are traversed much quicker than most normal ones. Especially in the end of the main game and the bonus chapter, the player rushes through the locations far too speedily, with little or no backtracking necessary. Overall, the backgrounds are beautiful enough to blend the game to an whole experience.
The ambient sound effects and music blend in seamlessly with the graphics and gameplay, and add to the enjoyment. Background music is intriguing, atmospheric and gripping, however somewhat repetitive. Whereas all dialogue is spoken. Animations are present in a more simplistic, static manner, but the lipping of the characters is done in a better way than previous AM installments.
There is a bonus chapter included as well, which is required to play to unlock all the achievements. Which makes the game, with only one playthrough required to achieve a perfect game, excellently suited for achievement hunters. Seventeen achievements have to be unlocked to become a perfect game. Easily done under 5 hours of gameplay. There are some missable achievements, however, beware of this. The bonus chapter itself is not very extensive, and the most easy by far. One could state the bonus chapter is a part of the game that failed to make it in the main chapter.
Overall, Fairy Tale Mysteries, is a lower difficulty, rather linear, shorter edition, compared to other installments of the Artifex Mundi publisher line. Developers “The House of Fables” created a somewhat more typical HOG, with tons of hidden object scenes. Somewhat weird references a made to the brother’s Grimm, not really sure what that is all about. But another step up from former AM titles.
Recommended for: hidden object game lovers, achievement hunters & casual gamers.

Z różnic: w sumie zbyt wiele nie pamiętam, a grałem w to nie tak dawno. Nie za długa, plusy/minusy typowe jak w reszcie HOGów. Z błędami w tłumaczeniu, bo udało się raz np. pomylić kolor przedmiotu, co w szukaniu nijak nie pomaga.
