This isn't quite what I expected from the video demo. I thought this was a simple journey to different environments, and it actually is, but I didn't expect to do it as a travelling ball.

Having said that, the game is actually much more intriguing than I would have expected for the sort of game it actually is. The selective use of physics to reach your goals help offset the endless rolling you start off with. You will spend all of your time as either a ball or a frisbee, but the different environments and the clear objectives help me stay engaged.

Don't expect anything more than surface deep, but it was fun in its own mindless way.

Really nice experience. Some of the levels are transcendent. There are a few that are kind of meh, but the highs of this game are just so, so high. The movement never really 100% clicked with me--it always felt a hair short of perfect even as I got better with practice, but that may just be a skill issue.

Definitely worth it at a steep sale, and it is very cheap very often.

História profunda e Enigmática. Não entendi nada!

Mas sem sombra de dúvidas, é uma experiência que foge totalmente do convencional.
A mecânica de usar a gravidade como forma de impulsionar e mover sua "nave" não é complexa, mas é desafiadora o suficiente para que a gameplay flua de maneira divertida.

É um excelente jogo pra você, que quer chegar em casa, e esvaziar a cabeça. Pelo menos pra mim, foi uma experiência relaxante, e até terapêutica, de certa forma. Jogo extremamente contemplativo, com planetas espetaculares e visuais de tirar o fôlego, tudo isso combinando com uma trilha sonora que encaixa perfeitamente ao sentimento que o jogo transmite. O vazio que existe na imensidão. A solidão em um universo cheio de matéria.

Além da trilha sonora, os sons do ambiente são extremamente satisfatórios. O som da sua "nave" passando pelas nuvens, o som ficando abafado ao entrar na água, o som do vento indo em direção contrária, ou quando você atinge velocidade suficiente pra quebrar a barreira do som, tudo foi minunciosamente pensado e bem executado. É nítido o nível de detalhes que os desenvolvedores fizeram questão de colocar nesse jogo, só por capricho. É magnífico!

O jogo é curto, mas na medida certa. Apesar da fórmula ser interessante, poderia facilmente tornar-se cansativa e repetitiva. Então, aproveite a experiência, ela será breve.

Ive played this thru twice now. I dont know if i would exactly call it a game as such [although there definitely is a solid element of skill involved],for me it was more of an experience for between 3-4 hours.

It is a very strange game/experience where you pilot a space marble thru various ethereal alien worlds using a unique gravity manipulation and momentum based technique that feels really good. Momentum is very important. There is a lot of skill involved in getting good at this, but gameplay wise this is pretty much all its about. This leaves the game in a kind of dualistic superposition where it is both fairly captivating and also requires almost no concentration at the same time.

For this reason i found that this game actually turned to to be bizarrely therapeutic, what i mean by this is that as i continued playing i found my mind was both almost solely focused on maintaining momentum and also free to wander since the concentration requirement is so low, and i ended up mulling over the various trials and tribulations that one faces in life. The general otherworldly setting and accompanying pretty great music only encouraged this. Overall this is a pretty unexpected effect of playing exo one, but definitely not an unwelcome one.

Tldr this game is just supremely pleasant to run thru for these stated and unstated reasons. A definite experience.

El juego en si no es malo, es algo relajante pero sin un enfoque directo a una historia que tenga sentido (tiene una historia confusa y sin un guión que sea llamativo).

Yo le daría al juego un 6/10 ¿Por qué?:

El juego puede servir para pasar el rato y sinceramente suele ser relajante ya que la mecánica del juego es guiar a una pelota (nave espacial quiero suponer) que tiene la posibilidad de controlar la gravedad y convertirse en un platillo (para más aerodinámica) para llegar a un destino.

El juego consta de algo simple, ir desde el punto A (lugar donde apareces) hasta el punto B (tu meta), puede ser algo retante ya que se presentan diversos entornos y haces viajes inter espaciales (los viajes inter espaciales solo aparecen como cinemáticas).

He visto que a mucha gente le agrada el juego y esta bien porque en parte si es relajante jugarlo, pero como tal el título no es para todos, si buscas un juego para pasar el rato y jugar para perder un poco de tiempo, distraerte o simplemente tienes la curiosidad de que trata este juego, lo recomiendo completamente, pero para otro público de jugadores que buscan más actividad dentro de un juego, sinceramente NO LO RECOMIENDO, suele ser algo aburrido y con una historia confusa.

PERO RECUERDA QUE:

Esto es una perspectiva mía y una reseña dado a que yo ya he jugado el juego y sinceramente me aburrió un poco, pero eso no significa que no debas de comprarlo, si te llama la atención y tienes curiosidad espero que los disfrutes :D, de igual recomiendo que VEAS LAS HORAS REGISTRADAS DE CADA JUGADOR QUE HA RESEÑADO ESTE JUEGO COMO BUENO, curiosamente no pasan de las 25 hrs registradas lo que puede dar a entender que el juego a lo mucho es para que lo completes una vez y probablemente te metas a jugar solo para perder tiempo, si fuera un juego EXCELENTE fácilmente verías datos de horas registradas de más de 30 hrs, lo cuál en este caso no lo cumple por completo.

Finalmente es tu decisión si buscas comprarlo pero por el precio que tiene (sin descuento) podrías encontrar mejores juegos.

Sin nada más que decir, espero que esta reseña te haya sido útil y que disfrutes el juego si lo vas a comprar :3

Exo One is a journey for the curious mind. Navigate your probe using gravity manipulation and explore amazing alien worlds until you find your way home. Beautiful visuals and freedom to explore; the constraints end up liberating you. Simple to play, difficult to master. This game has a mystique that kept me coming back for another play. While I still haven't found the finesse to get 100% achievements, I'm in no rush - I'll just keep drifting through the levels until I find what I'm looking for.

The game kind of steals the plot of Interstellar and the mechanics of Tiny Wings, but if you can get past these things, the short length, and walking-sim type of game-play (Get from point A to B, no challenge involved, so I will refrain from calling it a game), it's a *solid* experience.

The visuals and art direction are what you want to come for and they're why you'll stay to the end. From the vast empty plains, to the blue oceans, to the lifeless hell-holes you role and glide through, Exo One is just flat out GORGEOUS to look at; and even being over 5 years old, you can bet your sweet honey buns it's just as sexy now as it was back in 2021.

I know I mentioned the experience is short, but the developers at least knew where to stop because the mechanics they took from an iPhone game could only be built upon to an extent without venturing into territories that would break the themes and aesthetics. That said, I do wish there was a procedurally generated arcade mode of some sort; Tiny Wings had it, and darn it, Exo One should have had it too!

But because of that shortness and lack of anything else to do outside of the main story, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT buy at full price (Currently $17 USD), instead, buy between $5-$7 USD; that's the sweet spot. *IF* you play this and think "I wish for there was an actual GAME (Not a walking sim) with the same aesthetics and vibe as this," try out Venineth. It's on Steam, goes on sale for a good price often, and has a lot more playtime. Still, Exo One? I Recommend it on sale.

There's a weird dissonance in this game having achievements and collectibles despite being presented as such an emotional narrative-driven experience, sometimes I feel like it can't decide what it actually is, but the core gameplay of controlling the ship is really fun and the scenarios it throws at you are varied enough to not get boring. I seriously recommend playing this on a big TV with a high quality sound system.

you ever have a day at work and your physically and mentally exhausted but you just wana play something like a racing game but without the competition cause I'm too tired to even keep up in mario kart? Exo One is a meditation. I almost wish there was a mode to turn off the weird astronaut ♥♥♥♥, the only minor downside to this game. Think I'm gonna be coming back to this game a lot, finding a pretty planet and just run around like a dog in the park. Listen to a podcast or put on some good tunes and just fly across the surface of a planet like a skipping stone. Games a vibe.

Cool idea, nice visual effects - not bad, per se.

I'm giving a negative review because I simply didn't enjoy it - It felt like a chore. Perhaps part of the problem is the gloom and doom vibes, everything feels sad for some reason. To be fair, if you watch the trailer video that is what you are getting, but I suppose it wouldn't have hurt to introduce some more joyous music or encounters at some point in the game. I haven't reached the end yet and will likely try to later just for the sake of completing it, but I can't say I am looking forward to it.

2.5 hour impression:
The story is really interesting. I actually shouted out loud at one point because I was not expecting what happened! Every level is massively different and some of them are quite bizarre, but the theme is always the same - find your way to the beacon tower (that's what I'll call it - it might have a different name in the game) to finish the level, and try to find the energy "one up" along the way too.

2 hour impression:
I won't refund this even though some levels are pretty easy to beat, and some reviews say this game doesn't have a lot of content. I can say this game is clearly not worth full price unless you're really into this sort of thing. There is at least 1 challenging level I've run across so far, so I expect to keep playing it for a while, figuring out how to get past those challenges at least, and it's fun once I got the hang of it.

1.5 hour impression:
Once the first level is beaten, the game saves and restores as expected.

This is a very pretty game. The controls aren't obvious - pressing the right trigger (on a gamepad) magnifies gravity while the left trigger decreases gravity and turns your ball into a disk if you're going fast enough. The high gravity is useful if you can hit a downhill to speed yourself up a lot, and that's the only way to keep going forward mostly. There's a good tutorial in the guides for how to speed-run the game which explains some techniques too. Also it's worth mentioning that you can't die - you just go really slow and then have to speed yourself up again, but there's no "oops you died now you have to start over", which this game gets right and Superflight got wrong.

Nice game - recommended especially if you like flying or speed-running.

This is sort of a "surfing" game. It takes some technique to learn how to fly, and apparently there are several planets with different gravities to eventually try out. I guess it's okay. I would have liked guns though even after playing for a few minutes it seems like "just fly around" can get old after a while. But it's okay.

I saw a bit of gameplay ages ago and completely forgot about this game until it popped up on sale. Wow! You want to talk about an 'experience' and not just a game? This is it. It's alien but familiar in its mechanics and you start to pick up what it wants/needs you to do without ever realizing it. Runs great, graphics are phenomenal, I just can't comment on the music. One thing I love to do is put the music on a game to zero and play my own selections. This with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon was on a completely different plane of existence. That's personally what I recommend at least, I'm sure anything ambient and extensive would be paired wonderfully with it. 5/5 Get this game and I'll see you on the dark side of the moon...

本作包含有不少巨物恐惧、深海恐惧、黑暗恐惧等惊悚元素，考虑到题材原因，这些我都可以理解，但制作组通过跳杀来展示剧情的设定纯属脑子有病，而且跳杀出现的时机也是制作组“精心”设计过的。想象一下飞行器从空中俯冲进黑暗的深海或者是在穿过一片漆黑的带电乌云时，游戏突然给你来个跳杀，哪怕是我这种恐怖游戏游玩较多、基本可以提前预测跳杀的玩家也会被冷不丁吓一跳，更别提其他玩家了。尤其是挪提卡这关，我一落入深海就给我闪木星之眼的图片，巨尼玛诡异，你们做的要是恐怖游戏那我绝对夸你们牛逼，但你们不是，所以我骂你们傻逼。我不能理解这种明明应该是让人放松的休闲游戏为什么要整这种幺蛾子，老实说在这种状况下就算是放一张猫和老鼠的图片也足够吓到不少人了，我认为制作组不去做恐怖游戏真的是屈才了。

游戏似乎会在设置里自动禁用成就，即使显示已经打开，每次进行游戏也必须手动重新开启，否则可能会出现一直无法获取成就的情况，我完全不能理解这种设置的意义是什么，再加上游戏不少成就的达成条件非常苛刻，让一开始为了达成几个特定成就的我不知道花费了多少时间却还毫无成果，这几乎消耗完了我对本作刚开始的好感。至少对于我这种想顺便做点成就的休闲玩家来说，本作并非是什么休闲步行模拟器，而是妥妥的血压增高仪。

除了上面两个比较大的问题，本作也有不少小毛病，诸如优化较差、剧情隐晦难懂、偏离主要道路就会撞上空气墙遏制玩家探索欲、二周目不继承收集的能量无法爽快滑翔等，让游玩本作几乎很难体会到有什么乐趣。这种略显小众的游戏注定不适合所有类型的玩家，建议慎重购买。

Good game if you can get it on sale since it barely lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes (just long enough past the 2 hour refund window). I would've said it was worth it if I beat the game and the new level select feature actually unlocked, or there was some replayability once you finish the game and have the ability to noclip or fly around and explore these vast environments. Some of the planets or even the black hole or the giant Sun I would've loved to just look around and see without needing to worry about being stuck in that ball form with gravity or flying off into space or into the sun or deep into the ocean.

But yeah, maybe buy it on the 70% off sale (seems an old post said they wouldn't be doing a discount more than 25% for a long time and now it goes on sale for basically $5, I think $17 was asking too much for this game tbh).

It is a cool and unique project but once you finish it there is no real reason to go back, not much replayability or anything to unlock or seek out that is hidden on the alien worlds, no star fox secret entrances to planets or universes that we can seek out.

It is a fun and unique game but it could have been just a bit more to be perfect. When I play it it just feels like a project that was never fully finished. No accessibility options for the color inversion disabled or the + signs on the screen being disabled (those + signs from the screen grid being on constantly is not good for an OLED monitor). So yeah. Maybe add those features in one dayd and I will give this game a thumbs up for sure.

At the price point the game is at I don't recommend it. If you buy it now, for 4.94€, I'd say it's worth it.

The game has a little over 2 hours worth of content. Just enough to not be able to refund it. It's definitely not worth 16.49€. Yes, the movement is really good and satisfying, but considering that's pretty much it (and the music is good). I can't recommend it.

The game's story exists. That's about all I can say. The texts that appear on the screen were pretty fast, and I thought the voice acting would eventually have a clear understandable tone, but it was always just unintelligible sounds.

There are many movies disguised as games now-a-days where if you watched a gameplay footage, you don’t need to play it as there is no freedom. There are many levels to that, from just pure cutscenes to Quick Time Events to the worst offender where it feels like you have some freedom but the game only accepts one way of doing things. Those don’t qualify as games for me.

Here, we are given very basic controls and said, go nuts, and you do go nuts. This was done while still keeping a great story intact.

Then there are the other type of games which are basically dopamine-heavy where numbers go up, colors flash and the addiction part of your games like an addict goes, “Yes, more, more” and instead of you playing the game, the game starts playing you. With these games, you can’t put them down, you don’t feel satisfied in any ways and you just play because you are hooked.

A game that leaves you with an experience that you want to sit back and reflect on life.

Exo One, is a game that is really difficult to put in words but I will still give it a try.

In one word, “Surreal,” and when you think it won’t get more surreal than this, it goes one level deeper.

The gameplay of the game is there which in itself is a win. If I try to quantify this game on a scale, the scale will break.

The visuals and sounds were so great that I cleaned my monitor in months and disabled and closed my room to enjoy this experience.

I have not really thought how I will find a partner, if I even do in life, but this is going to be my test to see if we are aligned, to see if we belong together.

Update: Just figured out that by default the achievements are set to silent as it should be. This game made me question about "just beating games" or "achievement hunting" strategies instead of actually enjoying the game that is at hand.

I didn't give zero f***s about achievements or getting the next shiny thing in the game at all. I was enjoying it for it was. It's an absolute masterpiece that you don't want to end. I had to force myself to stop but it's not a rogue-lite so I am not doing the same thing over and over again, it will finish, and I am fine with that.

Make the game mechanics and the world such that one wants to take the longer route instead of fast-travel. Not once in this game I felt, "Oh! That's too far away," I was always excited to attempt what it is.

All you need was a good mechanic and the game follows. It has a very gripping story that doesn't get in your way. They give you very small bit of the story and then sit back and tell you to go nuts and enjoy the ride.

Few years ago, after spending thousand of hours in CS I saw the hours spent in game and started to question how much was it actually enjoyable or fulfilling and ever since that with a lot of difficulty I have been picking up games after games from many many genres and this is the first game that has truly made me appreciate the right decision to stop playing competitive games. Moving from Dopamine induced games to other Seratonine and other chemicals is a great experince.
I made a friend who mainly plays CS all day, play this game and he couldn't appreciate it and immediately went back to CS. He is hooked onto CS so much so that when his life now demands he stop playing games, he can't stop. He feels terrible about it, but he can't stop.

That's what dopamine first games like roguelites, roguelikes, management, PvP, Live Service, MMoRPG, farming sims and other sims games does to you. You might be having a terrible expereince in those games or just an average one but if you keep playing those games long enough, your brain gets wired in a certain way and starts demaing certain rewards both in games and ooutside of it to the piont that anything other including other genres of games and real life starts feeling bland.

I'm glad I stopped uploading game live-streams, playthoughs, boss fights, PvP clips and funny game clips and moved into what Gaming actually is and started a [url=https://ni6hant.com/gaming/]discussion about it[/url].

Fantastic physics/flight/racing/exploration experience. A nice casual game with a great atmosphere and cool time continuum lore baked in. Not a long game at ~2.5 playthroughs but perfect for something casual and chill for killing an afternoon or a short flight with the steam deck.
