Just letting you guys know, this is less of a review and more of an idea that could potentially help this game as I miss the original silly nature of the game.
So I know you guys can’t use Michael Jackson anymore due to legal reasons even though Michael Jackson would’ve loved this game, he absolutely loved parodies… which gave me an idea. What if you guys got permission from “Weird Al” Yankovic to use his likeness for this game? I doubt he would refuse permission since parodies are what made him popular to begin with, and having his actual permission to do so would actually allow you to maintain the spirit of the game while not having to worry about legal issues. Plus, think of all the amazing difficulty options you could have, with the hardest, difficulty being called “dare to be stupid”.

5/10 This game was changed dramatically from what first made it popular, probably for legal reasons out of the developers control. The game was fine but missing something that made it special. not worth the 10.99 asking price. I try not to return games from smaller developers even if the game is subpar but I did due to the price. If it was on sale or under $5 I would have probably kept it.

Literally everything about this game that made it unique, good, and made me want to buy it and play it has been drastically changed making it much more generic and boring. This is fundamentally not the same game it was when I first bought it and because of that and also because it is now a very inferior game I do not recommend it.

This is a hard review to make since I love this game and wanna recommend it to anyone and everyone whom may be apart of the horror community... However due to the recent update I just can't seem to recommend this for anyone whilst we are waiting for a polished update to make the game worth its money once more.
So a couple things I will be getting out of the way in this review.
First up is the quality of this version, v1.6.
In all honesty v1.6 is a downgrade to v1.5, v1.5 looked absolutely incredible and frickin gorgeous as a creepypasta horror game and really honed in on this abandoned mansion with something lurking in the shadows.
However v1.6 took alot of that ambience and aesthetic that was built in more recent updates and completely reset it.
Things like fire and the burning rooms look deep fried, just absolutely horrible to look at and can barely see anything, and whats worse is if I didn't know where the exit was in chapter 2 I probably wouldn't be able to find the way out nor see the path towards the area.
Darker areas are kinda cool admittedly where it feels a little more eerie and creepy but again, this in v1.5 had the right amount of lighting with even flickering lights and the lightning flashes whereas in v1.6 it has completely removed those effects and now the darkness is almost the equivalent of the dark room in gm_construct (maybe a little brighter but its still compareable).
Now to mention the thing most people hate.
The design of the Ayurok.
Now I sorta take both sides on this for many reasons, this game was originally meant to be a Michael Jackson creepypasta game and the most recent update takes that away completely without even keeping it close to inspired.
Now the reason why this is a problem in my eyes is that the designs itself on the image look cool but ingame it feels so...... Bland...... Uninspiring.....
And I mean no disrespect to the person who made the designs and models since they are designed well for what they are but you are also coming off of a really really well designed outfit and monster in itself.
People loved the aesthetic and the flair that was of Michael Jackson, looking at what is..... Well its just a little sad.
I thought I wasn't gonna be a hater for the newer stuff because I feel I am fairly reasonable but this just hits hard when seeing a great game fall to the lowest of depths.
The bugs and unpolished areas are another problem, there is a hallway in the beginning that has a invisible wall that is huge and prevents the player from accessing a hiding spot from a certain side plus a bunch of random other bugs to do with clipping and also Ayurok's pathing at the very start failing when the player dies past the first checkpoint.
Even some of the basic functions and features from v1.5 are gone like when jumping under a table Mike can hear you or your jump height greatly decrease to the point where some jumps feel like they need to be hit frame perfect.
Even picking up items feel janky and off compared to v1.5 .
Now although this is a negative review I am only posting this because I am hoping DeadlyCrow mentions anything about work on this game and starts to work on a major overhaul or atleast plans to bring back v1.5 with all the updated models and what not.
I will post another review once the Void Edition is released and it will probably be a good review and one to try and help sell this game for the devs but in its current state I just cannot.
One more thing, DeadlyCrow games....
For people who bought the game before the v1.6 update, can you please give use a beta to be able to play the original v1.5 again?
I am looking for ways to get the original v1.5 to work again and me asking you guys may be the only way that I can do anything else at this points.
To anyone who feels the same way or more negative, remember that the devs haven't done something wrong.
I would prefer you to find the person who put this legal issue on the studio and harass that person, also if you find out who it was I expect a name so I can harass them as well. XDD
This game was absolutely fantastic and a great halloween themed game to play for the season. however the sensitive leftist now feel that this games content needs to be censored for FEELINGS or whatever crock of ♥♥♥♥ excuse to change content because someone got upset due to the Michael Jackson references is the exact reason why comedy is dying and normal people have to walk on egg shells in public because some loser gets offend over words or content. Решила взять игру, увидев в интернете забавную нарезку с прохождением. К сожалению, игра не оправдала ожиданий (хорошо еще, что брала со скидкой за 200+ рублей). Если вы НЕ хотите, чтобы вас "задушил" бесконечный стелс от любого звука/пука в этой игре, то НЕ выбирайте высокий уровень сложности, ибо поменять в процессе игры его нельзя. С одной стороны поведение (маршрут) монстра похоже на ИИ как в alien isolation и это интересно..но в какой-то момент понимаешь, что по сути - монстр практически постоянно сталкерит тебя и ты по несколько минут вынужден сидеть на одном месте в укрытии, дабы тебя не поймали. Загадки в игре - это единственное, что разбавило бесконечный факинг стелс и удерживало от дропа игры (дропаю редко). НО, увы. Игру не закончила, терпение лопнуло на одной из локаций (под землей, где жд пути): тупо баговался звук в одном месте и ГГ будто громко топал как во время бега на шифте, хотя по факту шел на корточках. Монстр, услышав это, прибегал и убивал ГГ постоянно...После респавна, несколько раз подряд монстр появлялся на разном расстоянии (то есть рандомно) от ГГ. Соответственно что? Правильно - он догонял нас и вновь смерть ГГ, то есть не успеваешь даже спрятаться. Лично мне не хватало какого-то журнальчика аля "to do list", посему проходишь тупо тыкаясь во всё подряд, пытаясь понять, куда тебе двигаться дальше. Как играется на легком проверять уже не стала. Жаль времени, потраченного на данную игру.

The rebrand is honestly sad to see, but it's also completely understandable. I've always loved this game, and I'll keep loving this game. Great, actually tense gameplay, a pretty scary monster (even if he's bald now), and some nice, interesting lore.

My argument is that this is a difficult yet fun game to play if you're into gore and horror. In my opinion this game has good graphics and surprisingly excellent water physics, especially parts like the sewer and the bloody lake.
The only downside, in my opinion is the dialouge (my apologies if I spelled that wrong) timing. Like when the character you play as randomly starts talking when literally the Ayuwoki or any other hostile NPC is in front of you (not that it's a major issue, it's just a small one to me).
But overall, I rate this an 8.5/10. Keep up the good work, devs!
Sad the devs had to change the game up, cant blame them but the game has pretty much lost its identity
good game. Alot of bugs to be honest because i just did a speedrun strategy where i lagged through the wall in chapter 3 where we place the card to open the door, i ran around and got a checkpoint in the dark room where is the labyrinth. I did lose all my progress when the update where the Ayuwoki is now Ayurok and has no hair but the game is still good and scary :)

When the game was "Escape the Ayuwoki" it was much better
I mean like the game is alright its just the fact that the update changing the 'ayuwoki' to a downgraded ♥♥♥♥♥♥ version called the 'ayurok' which sounds like a word from the stone age for starters, second of all why did they have to change it like it was fine until the DMCA came along (they ruin everything).
And i lost all my data including some DLC money i spent.
Last of all, ♥♥♥♥ copyright it genuinely pisses me off and if you ever remember what the game looked like before then consider yourself a lucky person.
New update almost entirely ruined the game. The "Ayuwoki" not only had its name butchered, but also its design, which received a HUGE downgrade. I also completely lost my save files and all the modes I unlocked.
If you have never seen what the old version of this game looked like, you *might* still enjoy it. Just know it was better before.

I cant recommend this. The monster literally just camps you for 3-5 minutes at a time and you cant do anything but wait for it to leave to inch you way forward. This wouldve been so much better if the monster camping you wasnt so tedius and time consuming.
Escape the Ayuwoki é um jogo bom e faz alguns usuários que jogaram ele ficar viciado nele. Porém devido ao fato de sua gameplay ser apenas ficar stelth, ele chega a ficar repetitivo e te dar muita preguiça de completar os 3 capítulos (apesar de que pra completar eles leva um tempinho).
Os jumpscares são impactantes pela primeira ou segunda vez, mas depois de um tempo você se acostuma com eles facilmente, e faz o usuário chegar uma conclusão de que deveria ter mais variedade deles.
Sua ambientação é única, eu pelos menos até agora não vi um jogo com a mesma qualidade de gráficos. Os únicos bugs que foi demostrado no jogo foi quando o Ayuwoki começa a matar todos os ratos de uma vez (se contarmos com os que ficam presos entre os props, o Ayuwoki fique indo e voltando), as vezes a alavanca do Capítulo 3 não aparece no seus respectivos spawnpoints (isso também foi relatado por outros jogadores), e por último, eu simplesmente NÃO CONSIGO pegar a conquista do final ruim (mesmo que eu tenha morrido várias vezes e escapado da mansão em seguida).
Tirando os bugs, eu gostei pra caramba, e recomendo também. Se fosse para avaliar esse jogo com uma nota eu diria um 8/10.

Im so pissed off right now. I just had to uninstall Steam because it wouldn't open, no matter what I did. And since this game doesn't have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cloud saving, I have to REPLAY EVERYTHING TO GET BACK TO WHERE I WAS! This ruined the game. I was having fun and ready to start Chapter 3, but now I have to go through chapters 1 and 2 again. Why the ♥♥♥♥ isn't cloud saving on this game?!?!?!
This game has absolutely terrifying! It was so terrifying years ago that it took me years to come back and even start it but I finally succeeded and boy the terrifying of the beginning is nothing compared to the whole story! Definitely worth it!

Und auch: „Wo ist meine Nase?“
Ich schwöre, ich hatte Schokokakao in meiner Hose, einfach weil der Schock so ehrlich war.
Ja, okay – zu wenig Jumpscares, aber das, was da war, hat mich komplett Dyson-esk eingesogen.
Empfehlen? Euw. Aber auch: ja.
Denn wer Trash liebt, wird sich hier verlieren wie beim Eurovision Songtest, während im Hintergrund Don plötzlich ruft:
