ENCODYA is a genuinely fun point-and-click adventure that really stands out thanks to its charm and atmosphere. The characters are well written and memorable, and the story is engaging from start to finish, pulling you into its dystopian world with ease.

One of the highlights is the ability to control two characters, which adds variety to the gameplay and keeps things feeling dynamic. The setting itself feels almost cinematic, like stepping into an animated sci-fi film, and it’s brought to life beautifully through the game’s visuals and soundtrack, both of which are easily among its strongest aspects.

If there’s a downside, it’s that the puzzles may feel a bit too easy for experienced players, especially toward the end. Still, this doesn’t take away much from the overall enjoyment.

All in all, this is a point-and-click adventure I’d definitely recommend, and one that’s absolutely worth playing.

This game is a masterpiece. It has a beautiful story of humanity, and the environment is very reminiscent of the original Blade Runner. I especially liked the music. Vangelis would have been proud of it.
P.S. use a walkthrough if needed to finish the game, it's worth it

Палец вверх, потому что в жанре ощущается дефицит игр, а Encodya — красиво нарисованное приключение с простеньким сюжетом, и это не так плохо. Правда, не шедевр, вот совсем: имеется куча раздражающих моментов, вроде робота, постоянно загораживающего кусок экрана, история весьма коротка, часов за пять можно пробежать, да и скучновата, особенно под конец.

What started as a promising story with beautifully made art got quite mundane halfway through and lost my interest that I abandoned it for a longer while. I finished it just to tick it off and uninstall. If you are looking for just another point and click, this game might be enjoyable with good voiceover and pleasant music. If, like me, you are a veteran of the genre, then go play monkey island or Deponia instead.

Aventura gráfica de "point & click" clásica, con la peculiaridad de manejar a dos protagonistas que se complementan para superar situaciones de cierta lógica, sin embargo, muchos puzles se sienten como tareas de recadero, yendo de aquí para allá. El toque de cyberpunk le da encanto, con ese ambiente distópico de sus bonitos fondos, pero se queda en puro relleno con una trama demasiado superficial. Artísticamente si que tiene un punto interesante, pero es más fachada que sustancia, bonito por fuera y plano por dentro.

Идея и сюжет хорошие, трогающие за сердце - девочка-сирота пытается выжить в киберпанк-городе со своим большим другом-няней-роботом.

Графика тоже весьма симпатичная.

Геймплей же, реализация этого всего, мне не понравилось.

Во-первых, есть баги - реплики о некоторых сюжетных предметах у меня в диалогах появлялись тогда, когда я предмет уже нашел и использовал. Кажется, тестировали только какой-то happy path.

Во-вторых, я зачем-то начал не на "сюжетном" режиме и пострадал от этого. Игра в лучших традициях квестов 20-летней давности - надо тщательно искать предметы, пытаться комбинировать их почти вслепую.
В итоге, пару часов искал что делать с искрящими проводами, в итоге выяснилось что нужен был предмет, который я не нашел, хотя локацию где он лежит я обшаривал несколько раз. Практически пиксель-хантинг.

Далее, как-то сложно с моралью и логикой. Робот заявляет нам что он не будет портить публичную собственность, причинять вред и.т.д. При этом он никак не мешает и не комментирует даже девочкино воровство. А потом сам еще и сбивает другого летающего дроида намеренно. Девочка ради своего квеста обещает хулиганам что будет им должна что угодно, и они говорят, ок, когда нам понадобиться раб, мы тебя позовем.

Далее, зачем-то сделали кучу комнат в отелях и апартаментах, промежуточные галереи, в которых ничего нет, во многих локациях. Отели и апартаменты напоминают "бесконечный" коридор в NeverHood, только как-то это скучно и без изюминки и повторяется как минимум два раза.

Вещи, которые я собрал в первом акте, не помещались в экран, поэтому когда я застрял, я пытался их скомбинировать и применять все ко всем активным точкам на экране. С учетом того что у нас еще и два действующих персонажа, получается комбинаторный взрыв.

В общем, играть в эту игру неудобно и некомфортно. Вероятно, нужно выбирать легкий режим ради истории, где можно получать подсветку вещей и советы от робота.

I am going to presume here everyone knows what a point-and-click game is like.

It is a rather great point-and-click adventure. I am not saying it is very in-depth or anything: it is linear like almost all point-and-click games. In this one, I appreciated that most item usage made sense and the theme/message of the game is quite cool.

It's about 10 hours.

Плохо, очень плохо. Я любитель разных квестов. Но это плохо, очень плохо. Жаль нельзя вернуть ,купил на распродаже, не хочется да же иметь это у себя в кАллекции. Я не понимаю тех кто пишит хороший отзыв об этой игре. Может а до погузится и т.п. но игра отпугнула за первые 30 минут игры. А это просто квест! =)

For me it's an "OK" game and I've played some adventures and like the genre. The story, atmosphere and music are nice. I think, some solutions are a bit strange and sometimes hard to find/guess. Not all solutions are logical. Sometimes you have to find a small thing/stone on the ground to progress with story. When it comes to the end there are some quite annoying parts where you have to do some dialogues over and over again until you have all the answers right. If you have one answer wrong, the dialogue is starting completely over. My playtime was 12 hours. There are better adventures out there but didn't regret buying it on Sale or playing it.

To put it plainly, the game is dull and drags too long for its own good. I needed to complete Broken Sword 1 for shorter amount of time, and yet that game had way more substance in terms of gameplay and story, for its amount of playtime.

The gameplay starts out relatively promising, inventory puzzles are mostly logical(although its mostly just inventory puzzles, I think the first proper puzzle appears in Encodya almost more then halfway through the game completion), and while the story doesn't offer much in chapter 1, it at least leaves potential for exploring certain narrative themes later down the line.

But then it slowly gets worse. The Neo Berlin gets dark and rainy at chapter 2 onward, so its harder to spot items sometimes, and the game adds more locations into the city(not as many locations as steam page advertises though, there's not even remotely 100+ locations, especially when many in the first half of the game are just Neo Berlin day/night versions), so what ends up happening is that you constantly run around town, while nothing major happens story vise, and you keep wasting your time.

The very first quest you do in the game, grocery shopping list, becomes a reoccuring cliche, where either one or more characters ask you to find x amount of items. At one point, old patron at sushi shop, asks you to deface 5 portraits of German politician, and it requires you to waste time visiting every single location. Way later in the story, one major character literally asks you to find food for picnic. Then there are frustrating objectives like finding clerks boyfriend, when you shouldve guesses that his virtual reality nickname is his name shortened, and find it in glitchy phone book. And when you enter Encodya, the game also adds hard to see items, its not as bad as old school pixel hunting, but still can bee frustrating.

The second major flaw of the game is the story, or lack of it. For most part of the game, you jsut try to find something, grocery shopping list, info about your dad, etc and barely any story happens. Theres german politician guy whos the big bad guy, but hes neither funny as a bad guy, nor menacing. He's also a huge meta joke on real world, and theres a decent amount of meta jokes, referencing real life, or breaking 4th wall, I dont like those jokes but Im sure there are others who dont like them either. Lastly, just like with gameplay, it just feels like story, and gameplay drag their feet during those 14 hours.

And then there are small issues with the game, they are small but they do add up to worsen the experience. For example, there's extreme lack of additional dialogue or "fluff" text, you know when you use wrong item on someone/something but character either gives you a joke, adds world building, showcases their character? Well the game doesnt have that, almost at all. Most of the objects on screen arent even interactable, and those that are that arent required for your quest? They rarely have any interesting lines from two main characters. Both Tina and Sam dryly explain a thing, no flair, no jokes, no expansion of their characters, they barely feel like two distinct people! Sam couldve been cold or calculative explained of objects while Tina couldve had a personal view on things/life, to bounce off of Sam personality. Other issues are lack of interesting side characters, which is kinda bad since the game reuses Neo Berlin locations, a ton, so a ton of characters are also reused.

Overall, I just cant recommend a game that wastes player's time, while giving you so little. There are far too many box standard Point and Click Adventures, which spend less time then Encodya but provide richer experience, from engaging gameplay, well developer characters, captivating story taking you on an adventure throughout multiple locations, and just overall good writing in general, from main story to "fluff" dialogue.

進行不能バグで詰みました。
3章の森の木にレバーがあり、引くと上からロボットが降りて来て
しばらくするとロボットもレバーも戻る。
タイミングよく？粘着物質をかけるとロボットが固定され、
レバーがとれて手に入るみたいなのですが、なぜかロボットとレバーが降りたまま、
粘着物質をロボットに使っても「遅かったようです」みたいに言われ何も起きない。
レバーにカーソル合わせても何も出ず進行不可。
オートセーブをロードしても時すでにおすし、章の最初から始めるなどの項目も無し。
完全にやる気が失せました。

I really wanted to like this game, but I have to be honest: I played through it from beginning to end and I just didn't enjoy it very much. Halfway through I took a hiatus of three months or so and almost didn't muster the motivation to get back to it. When I picked it back up, I kept playing more out of a sense of obligation to finish what I start than because I actually cared about what happened next.

The problem is the game just has very little to recommend it. The puzzles weren't clever, the characters weren't deep or engaging, the dialogue wasn't witty or funny, the parody of Trump was tedious (and I say this as someone who doesn't support Trump even a little bit), the climax wasn't very believable, and the ending was disappointing. It feels like everything good about this game was done better 30 years ago or more.

If you do play it, I recommend playing it on the easy mode. I played it on the hard mode, and too often I spent ages searching for the tiniest objects, not knowing what in particular I was looking for. You can't turn the hard mode off, either; you have to start the game over, and I wasn't about to do that when I was halfway through. I did get through the whole game without cheating, but I could have done it in a few hours less if I'd picked the easier mode and I wouldn't have had a less pleasant time.

Also für 2,49 € im Sale muss das Spiel in jede Sammlung und auch gespielt werden.

К сожалению, милое приключение девочки и робота очень быстро превратилось в скуку и раздражение.

Осознавая все риски, я выбрал самую высокую сложность, которая подразумевала, что никаких подсказок в решении головоломок не будет, да и в принципе каких-то подсказок не будет (то же подсвечивание предметов на локации). Без этих подсказок игра должна была стать и сложнее, и более интересной.

Игра грешит неочевидными решениями, еле заметными предметами на локации и модельками персонажей, которые загораживают объекты собой. Стоит не обнаружить какой-то предмет на одной из десятка локаций, как какая-то задача не найдет своего решения. И придется либо заново досконально всматриваться в каждый пиксель каждой локации, либо смотреть видеопрохождения. Усугубляется ситуация еще и тем, что подобранные предметы иногда нужно комбинировать между собой. Усугубляется потому, что не все предметы вообще будут использованы за главу. А еще уже использованные предметы будут бесполезно валяться в инвентаре, о чем узнать можно только к концу главы.

Почитав другие обзоры я пришел к выводу, что и на более низкой сложности проблемы все те же, но для них есть хотя бы поблажки, хотя и этого было мало для комфортного прохождения.

Buen juego si te gustan los point and click clásicos, si estas dispuesto a pasarte 200hs combinando los 900 ítems que hay y probando todo en todo, como suele pasar con estos juegos, muchas de la elecciones de que hacer o donde usar un ítem carecen de lógica, o al menos no son simples de deducir.

Me lo mande con guía, porque a estas alturas de la vida no estoy en condiciones de matarme viendo como joraca avanzar en un juego así, prefiero ver de que va la historia y ver si me entretiene, abre hecho un 15% solo y sin ayuda.

No me pareció la gran cosa, la historia es medio pedorra, o simplona, tiene su encanto en los escenarios, pero algo que me rompió bastante las bolas es la falta de relieve en objetos (que por lo general son clásicos en este estilo de juegos); recorrer con el mouse todo el escenario, con ambos personajes para ver que es "interactuable" es un embole.

Por lo menos no es largo si lo jugas guiado, pero varias veces, casi lo dejo por el camino, no llego a meterme en la trama ni a envolverme en ganas de seguir viendo de que iba. La animación de los personajes caminando (son lentos) me exaspera..

para quien le gusta el genero es un 8 de 10, para mi fue un 5.

pero otro que pasa a la lista de jamás vuelvo a tocar.

Красивый добрый квест в старых традициях. Старых не значит плохих, а скорее проверенных и работающих. С юморком, немного слезливо-сопливый, но вполне играбельный. What brought me to this game was that it seemed to be a game within a cyberpunk setting, naturally for that alone the game earned its brownie points before it has even started.

The store page mentions that the atmosphere is inspired by Blade Runner so you would assume that Neo Berlin is a sprawling megaplex, but every screen basically feels empty and live less. This feeling gets even more amplified because the architecture is indeed shown in a megaplex style.

The story for me is neither funny nor serious and I honestly have no idea what she is supposed to be. At the end I even did not get it why a kid near the age of 10 needed to do the job an adult could had done without its involvement. This brings up the question was the protagonist important for the story at all? With or without her the story could have ended the same way.

The puzzles are logical for the most part but sometimes they seem just to be there for the sake of being a puzzle in your way to proceed the story instead of following the flow of it.

I am sorry to say it, but with the story being lacklustre and the fact that I play this kind of games for the story, and not for the game play, is enough to bring it from a neutral opinion to a negative one.

I'm not a huge fan of this type of game to begin with so take this review with a grain of salt. It's a "Point and Click" adventure game, which I think anyone who played computer games in the very early 2000 and before would be familiar with. Maybe even have some fond ones that you enjoyed somewhat at some point. I bought this around 2 years ago, but never actually played it. I liked the setting and art style so that's likely why I was drawn to it. Recently I've been going through my Steam library to see if there are any games I already own that I never played and that look interesting. I rediscovered this and figured I'd give it a try since it received lots of positive reviews.

The game is essentially a "lock-and-key" puzzle game. What I mean by that is that there is an exact pattern of items and you have to arrange them to the satisfaction of the puzzle designer in order to progress. Sometimes it makes intuitive sense, but other times it does not. Occasionally you also simply don't have the necessary items yet and have to go off searching for them somewhere else. This can be a tedious process especially with the way the zone transitioning works. A good few areas means a good few transitions and loading screens to go through which eventually wears one's patience through especially since a lot of the puzzles expect you to go back and forth between areas. Anyway, why is it that you can warp to the next area easily, but when you attempt to interact with something far away your character strolls there as slowly as humanly possible requiring you to click elsewhere to run to it first. Ugh.

So anyway, I don't really think Encodya really breaks any new grounds. I wasn't particularly intrigued by the characters or the plot and the character models actually look kinda bad in my opinion. The environment art is pretty though and when it started raining the reflections in the puddles of water is actually kinda pretty. Unfortunately the game didn't really pull me in and after yet another, "Oh, find this thing that's somewhere for some random person" I eventually just reached my limit. The poor attempts at jokes also landed so far off the mark for me that I wondered if the writers actually even read their own damn script before releasing the game...

Yeah, I think this game kinda landed the same way Cloudpunk did for me. I can respect the devs for making a game they wanted to make, but it's just not for me. There wasn't anything that kept me particularly engaged or interested in seeing it through and unfortunately I realized this a bit too late after already being about half-way through.

The game is not playable for me as it lags right from start. My computer (win 11 dell) exceeds the minimum requirements, and reducing resolution and quality improves the lagging only slightly.
It worked smoothly on my previous computer (win 10 dell).
Also, none of my save games where stored in the cloud so I lost all my advancements. Super disappointing.

I wanted to like this game I really did. The graphics amazing, the story was alright, the music and sound affects good, but the pacing and the back and forth was so convoluted I wanted to rip my hair out a lot. I couldn't even finish it at the end because I was just more frustrated and annoyed then anything else and was no longer even enjoying the game. Even with a guide I found this game so cumbersome that I couldn't finish.

TLDR: A poorly designed point n click that’s just not worth it. It isn’t even unnoteworthy enough to be faithfully generic, and hasn’t managed to get a single thing right.

[b][u]General Thoughts/Overview:[/u][/b]
Encodya is a bland and generic cyberpunk dystopia 1/5 cross (Mega City/Cyberspace) running indie story beats 1 and 8 (Child and Protector and stop the corruption). It’s a terrible Point’n’Click (PnC) adventure which manages to hit almost every genre branch on the way down. The game lacks any real character of its own, has no twists, and so it’s quite easy to jump into.

We are Tina and SAM-53, we are a homeless orphan living in Neo-Berlin. A city so desperate for citizens it gives robots to parents to help with childcare, but then doesn’t look after the children at all. It’s in that comicbooky Borderlands art style and is voiced in English by someone who sounds like a 40 year old who’s only experience with children in the last three decades has been against their will, pretending to have the vim and vigour of a 9 year old.

So let’s decodeya this failure.

[b][u]Pros:[/u][/b]
[list][*] The biggest pro to this game is they have good QoL features. Double click to move, autosave on quit, and two modes for if you like your PnC’s extra frustrating or not.
[*] Technically solid: the game ran just fine, it didn’t bug or clip or suffer from performance issues.
[*]The ambient sounds and music were just fine. The cutscenes were smooth and while the artwork wasn’t to my taste, it did the job just fine. The backgrounds were ok too. With a different story and tone set by the devs, they could have been assets used to build an interesting and believable world.
[/list]

[b][u]Cons:[/u][/b]
[list][*] Stupidly unintuitive. The game is so poorly designed it’s mind boggling. From NPC’s not having dialogue options update until you talk to them again, to more junk items in your inventory than useful ones. I can’t even count the number of times a [i]single[/i] line of dialogue would have turned a puzzle from an unintuitive mess which needed brute-forcing into an ‘aha, ok then.’ A fabulous example is in the first chapter you need to steal some keys. All Tina needed to say was “hmm… good idea, but this isn’t long enough.” And the puzzle goes from being 30 minutes of trying to rub everything on everything, scouring the place for magnets to tape to a stick, and ways to make the guy fall off his ladder into an easily identifiable inventory puzzle. This example is almost the entire game.
[*] Continuing the unintuitive theme: Items are hidden in your peripheral vision, and even under the inventory bar. Best close that inventory, you might find an exit there, and also a large number of items you’ll need later. Make sure to scour every edge of every map, there might be an item there, and it won’t stand out.
[*] It’s not funny. Stop trying to be funny, tell a half decent story first. If the puzzles were intelligible, the characters compelling, and the story had any kind of soul, then I might have forgiven it for the absolute cringe fest that was the devs trying to lean out and wink at me every five seconds. I don’t mind [b]*A*[/b] fourth wall break here and there, but you’re not Lucas Arts, try and get the genre right before you go making meta jokes about it.
[*] SHOW us the threat. Show us cyberspace, show us Rumpf’s corruption, show us that things were better somehow before. We don’t see any of that at all.

[list][*] Let me skip the end credits, and don’t add time based secrets into the game.
[*] Dialogue choices should update as we speak to NPC’s not force us to reinteract with them.
[*] Understand that less is more. A well placed red herring is a great addition. A thousand things to clutter my inventory, isn’t.

Generally speaking I’d say this game really isn’t worth your time or money. The only thing I’m glad about, and this is a MAJOR spoiler, is that [spoiler]they killed Tina at the end, so we won’t suffer a sequel.[/spoiler]

I guess if you’re really not fussy, wouldn’t know a good story if it jumped up and bit your nose off, or will clap like a seal for the pretty pictures, then this might be for you.

As a story, it fails. As a PnC adventure game, it fails. As a talking point, it fails. As art, well art is subjective, so it succeeds there, and it has its animation moments…

But no, I don’t recommend it.

一次次试图玩这个游戏，但是一次次放弃...在各种场景里找道具，但是道具的位置一点都不明显，需要把鼠标扫过整个屏幕去找。其次就是解密十分困难，就算拿到了提示也不知道要干什么，就算知道了要干什么，但是又缺道具，具体是前面哪里漏了也不知道。在场景间穿梭动作十分慢，过场动画也很长，你要是3D的就算了，只是平面固定视角看角色跑一点意思也没有。整体就是十分无聊的一款游戏。

[h2]I hate not recommending games that you can tell people have worked hard in, but this is just nothing special. 5.5/10[/h2]

I am a fan of point and clicks, particularly the old Lucas arts ones, but most modern day attempts can't replicate the humour, and barely improve upon the mechanics, which are very dated in this day and age.

Here we have an example of a game that is just fine. The humour isn't great, the movement is still clunky. There's still the annoying pixel hunting and trial and error because logic doesn't exist for some solutions.. I didn't vibe much with the story.

Unfortunately, I would advise anyone except die hard point n click fans chomping at the bit for more content to avoid this game.

Leider muss ich berichten, dass ich im letzten Viertel des Spiels absolut keine Lust mehr hatte. Es ist von Allem zuviel, insb. "Die schöne Optik". Ich bin kein Fan von Cellshading und ich hätte auf meine Abneigung hören sollen. Aber das Spiel war für 2,49€ im Angebot und ich hab' frisches Futter gesucht.

Erstmal ist Alles grafisch völlig überladen. Überall blinkts und leuchtets. Objekte zu finden ist eine echte Qual (und ich bin Point & Click Adventurespieler der ersten Stunde...). Viele Aufgaben sind stellenweise völlig Sinnfrei und man kommt nur darauf, wenn man "Objekt X mit Objekt Y" testet, ob selbige zueinander passen.

Der Plot zieht sich extrem, wie ein alter Kaugummi... Vieles geschieht nur, um den Plot am laufen zu halten. Aufgaben ergeben stellenweise keinen Sinn für den Plot; so ungefähr "Besorge X, dann bekommste Y von NPC Z". Das langweilt leider extrem.

Technisch gesehen ist das Spiel soweit einwanfrei, bis auf evtl. den Fakt, dass sich manchmal das Mädchen und der Roboter im Wege stehen.

(正常這種遊戲會做成像世紀帝國那樣點兩下會移動到該位置)
有些物品互動人物會卡住一直走不到互動的位置
前面關卡還好後面這問題就很嚴重了
再來是移動場景不會跟隨視角移動
這非常反人類的設計
(等於你人物先走完要等視角移動完成你才能行動)

Gioco punta e clicca con enigmi non troppo complessi ma che ripercorre positivamente i suoi predecessori. Ho visto moltissime recensioni negative che puntano tutte sulla stessa cosa ''il gioco è difficile''. Sinceramente, per il genere ''punta e clicca'' la difficoltà è essenziale per rendere un minimo sfidante il gioco. Non è semplicemente una storia a scelte multiple, per proseguire bisognerà ragionarci un po' sulle cose e perdersi qualche oretta nell'ottenere una soluzione. Ciò nonostante le soluzioni sono spesso intuitive o comunque non è impossibile arrivarci. Suggerisco il gioco a chi ha esperienze pregresse o a chi si vuole avvicinare a questa tipologia di titoli. Lo sconsiglio a chi non ha testa di ragionare e impegnarsi un pochino nel raggiungere soluzioni non sempre immediate.

Пройти и забыть, отвратительно детский и клишированный недо-квест сделанный на коленке.
Драму высосали из пальца. Лор отсутствует, истории даже персонажей не прописаны, не то что мира.
Тодд Говард ток наступил немного на сценарий.

- Головоломки заключаются только в том что предметы заныканы, в стиле Hide and seak.
- Решение задач и соединение предметов (а их тут перебор как много скапливается в инвентаре)
в массе бездумны и бессмысленны и порой не пропадают после использования.

- Передвижение и застревание персонажей вообще отдельный рофл - привет квестам из 90-00
из плюсов только атмосфера кибер будущего и то атмосфера это громкое слово.
P.s. вышла бы игры 20 лет назад, 0 претензий, но не для 21 года.

This game is not bad per sé. But... there are so many things I kept running into, I just couldn't get down to really enjoy it.
I'm actually glad it's over. And if that's not a bad sign for you, you'll soon be sorry for the time you wasted too.

To explain it more detailed as of why you should reconsider buying and playing this game:

▲▲ Most of the main characters animations aren't bad at all. You can tell that someone had a vision and the control to make (most of) them seem right. There are many different animations for many different tasks too.
▼ Except talking. That animation is extremely disappointing.

▲ About the graphics... The backgrounds seem way more detailed than needed even "taskless" floors are pretty.

▼ Which brings me to the issue about the same topic: They don't always [i] fit [/i]. Like... you can like the general style or not - that's fine. But a background with extremely busy textures and animations is distracting - especially if it makes up 97% of most of the screens and the part you actually [i] need [/i] is nowhere to be found.

▼▼ Not to mention how I got an immediate "Ihh, bah" feeling just by looking at the horrible lighting on Tina's face for the first time.

▼▼▼ Gameplay: If usable objects are sometimes extremely obvious and the very next item can't even be found without an external guide because it literally disappears into the ground or background... That is just very bad game design.
▼▼▼ [u] Especially when there's no help function except for "pick me up's" - The rest of the interactive's can only be found by pure luck, their hit boxes are just [i] that [/i] small [/u].
So when the appearance of "pick me up's" is rare (1 to 3 every second screen on average) in comparison to the interactive's - which are at least 1 to 5 per screen - It is simply annoying and tiresome.

▼▼▼ Characters: Every character feels incredibly stiff, because they all try to teach you a "politically correct moral" (except the Asian guy for some reason. Another piece of political correctness? Who knows), the animations don't really fit their style, all they do is talk. And for the size of the characters you'll see them in they are just not detailed enough. Plus... if you really want to make a game that has the premise of "English replaced the German language" you shouldn't put the voice actors with a horrible German accent into the beginning of a game. And pay them better so they actually try their best to feel the character (Looking at you, Eku).

▼▼▼ Story: Somebody obviously ran out of time here - the end is too fast and... somewhat... [i] nastily [/i] perfect. The actual, short part that tells you about the game's title ("Encodya") is relatively interesting though – in context with the rest of the story it's a big missed opportunity here.

▼▼▼ And lastly about the "Easter Eggs" (Not counting the collectibles here):
They are [i] way [/i] too German, even for me - a German. That entails mostly badly written 4th-wall-breaks and an obvious, constant "Just one more joke! LET'S ADD JUST ONE MORE JOKE"-pressure that will leave you stuck with an annoyed grimace after the third character- and approx. seventh object interaction. Not to mention the forced "OH THIS STREAMING ADDICTED YOUTH" moral which kept reappearing time and time again...

Just... Urgh.

Neo Berlin im Jahr 2062... ein spielerischer Blick in unsere reale Zukunft? Mit Sicht auf den Stand unserer heutigen AI / KI ein absoluter Volltreffer der Entwickler. Zum Spiel selber:

Man begleitet die 9-jährige Tina und ihren robotischen Babysitter SAM-53 im neuzeitigen Berlin, welches unter der Bürgermeister(herr)schaft eines gewissen Herrn Rumpf leidet. Mit den beiden Protagonisten muss natürlich einiges an Material eingesammelt, etliche Stadtteile, Geschäfte bereist, und mit vielen anderen Spielfiguren Konversation betrieben werden. Das ganze wird immer wieder durch kleine Nebenquest´s verfeinert, trägt aber zum Hauptziel immer passende Elemente bei.

Was mir besonders gut gefallen hat, sind die witzigen Dialoge, indem auch ab und an die Entwickler mit einbezogen sind. Es gibt im Spiel 10 Easter-Eggs, leider hab ich nur 9 gefunden. 16 Errungenschaften kann man abstauben, und im Sale ist das Spiel für 2,49 Euro zu erhalten.

Encodya gehört ab heute zu meiner persönlichen Hall of Fame in der Rubrik Abenteuer/Point&Click.

그래픽도좋고 게임 분위기, 더빙 모든것이 완벽하다고 생각하고 구매하였는데 정작 게임성이 불친절해서 아이템들간의 상호작용이랑 맵에서 물건찾는 등 공략을 보지않고서는 끝까지 플레이하는데에 어려움이 있어서 비추천드립니다. 포인트앤클릭장르를 좋아하는데 이게임은 너무 어렵게 설계가 되어있네요.

I can't like this game. It was too painful for me to play. I am a big fan of point-and-click puzzle games, so I thought I would like this one given it's highish rating. However, after beginning to play, I started having doubts. From the very beginning I was having to blunt force some of the "puzzles". A little bit is a given in these types of games, but at the very start I would think good game design would initiate some basic intuitiveness in the puzzles. After completing the starting area, I noticed that some items from my inventory had disappeared. These were items that I hadn't used yet and the realization that this game gave me completely pointless items fairly similar to ones I possessed as red herring irked me. However, it had a fairly good rating so I continued to give it a chance. I continue to play through a couple of more sections, but then I hit my frustration limit and I cannot continue.
If you're going to play this game. Prepare for a pixel hunt. The hit boxes for clickable items are generally very small. The artwork is also hostile to finding items. There are plenty of things that seem like items that are just set pieces and some items blend in to an insane degree. Also sometimes you might think you tried to check an area only to find out 30 min later you just didn't quite hit the right spot on the screen for the spot you were aiming for.
Prepare yourself to have to blunt force your way through spots. While some puzzle parts make sense, and you will find yourself solving the puzzle before the designer thought you would, others are so dang specific and nonsensical that you will find yourself trying every combination and every interaction possible. That combined with items and spots that end up having nothing to do with the game progression, and have no visible differentiation as the set pieces they are, will make your game-play a frustrating experience.
Or prepare yourself a guide, if you want to avoid all that, but still "play" the game. Some of the other reviewers seemed to enjoy the story, although I didn't. I mean I did feel it had promise. The art seemed pretty good to me, though the humans went a little bit to uncanny valley for my liking. The plot had promise, but I was seeing some holes and it just didn't grab me enough to put up with the game-play. And the voice acting was honestly terrible. I mean it was impressive how much they had in it, but what I heard sounded like most people were just reciting words off a sheet.
I will say I didn't get very far, so maaaybbeee it will get better later on, but I'm not willing to continue to find out.

El detalle gráfico es hermoso, lleno de pistas y secretos, lo cual me hizo muy entretenido la aventura. Aparte tiene una maravillosa historia de cómo la política influencia en nuestro pensar y razonar frente a nuestras decisiones. Si te gustan los point and click enfocado en ser muy persuasivo y observador con las pistas, este es tu juego, en mi caso lo disfruté de principio a fin.

Exceptional! Definitely one of my favorite games of all time. The story made me stand up and applaud at the end. The visuals are simply stunning and I felt immersed in the world all the time. Sounds and music were perfect. Puzzles were just the right amount of difficult. 10/10 is too low a grade!

THE BEST Point and Click game I've seen after loving Runaway series when it came out! (Afterparty also good)
I had a lot of laughs, the puns were really good, the story is interesting.
I wish I'd use save system more. I missed one of the optional stuff and will have to play from beggining to 100% it.
100% recommended, no matter if You're experianced with Point & click games or new to them it's definitely a good one to play! And it's on 90% sale :O

할인 엄청 할 때, 구매해서 10시간 정도 플레이 했습니다..
한글화도 잘 되어 있어 플레이 하기 좋았고, 그래픽도 나름 괜찮았습니다.
스토리도 나름 봐줄만 했고... 개발팀이 루카스아츠 게임 팬이듯 하네요.. 몇몇 오마주가 등장 하는 걸 보면...

개인적으로 난이도 어려운걸 해서 그런지 몇몇 아이템 찾지를 못해서 많이 해매긴 했지만....

마지막으로 티나 캐릭터가 조금 더 귀여웠으면 조금 더 몰입을 했을 것 같습니다.

Энкодию я честно хотел пройти самостоятельно, так как очень люблю квесты - эхо прошлого, чего там. Но через час-полтора... Босс, я устал. Настолько устал, что открыл солюшен и пробежал ее за пару часов ради ачивок.
Да, карапуз Тина и ее жестяной плюшевый медведь действительно милые, а от атмосферы игры действительно отдает киберпанком для дошкольников, но я как-то быстро потерял интерес. Возможно, в этом виноваты пресные диалоги, которые постоянно пытаются ломать четвертую, а то и пятую стену. Или персонажи вроде Дика Бейтса, Рампфа итп. Или ударное дежавю - начало игры слишком напомнило Вудраффа с его Шниблом. Или головоломки, которые быстро свелись в "тыкай предметом на все, куда тыкается, пока что-то не произойдет". Не знаю. А может потому, что ее описание в стиме настолько меня обмануло, что после прохождения игры я несколько еб... диву дал.
Итак.

Действие игры ENCODYA разворачивается в анитиутопическом будущем (справедливо). Это приключение в жанре «укажи и щелкни», в котором очарование и творческий потенциал Studio Ghibli (нет, просто нет) сочетаются с атмосферой «Бегущего по лезвию» (нет) и игровым юмором «Острова обезьян» (тоже нет).

Особенности игры:
Исследуйте тёмный киберпанковый мир ENCODYA в псевдотрехмерной игре с двумя игровыми персонажами (и правда, темный и псевдотрехмерный).
Более 34 неигровых персонажей, которые населяют мир ENCODYA и двигают сюжет вперед (возможно, я не считал).
Более 100 мест, которые можно исследовать (одинаковые этажи гостиниц и кораблей согласны с данным пересчетом).
Некоторые головоломки идут в случайном порядке, чтобы каждое прохождение было уникальным (видимо, подразумевается целая такая одна).
Интересные видеосцены (не очень - половина катсценок это вопли Рампфа).
Потрясающая графика и звук (без комментариев).
Оригинальный саундтрек, работающий на атмосферу (нет).

Нео-Берлин, 2062 год. Девятилетняя сирота Тина и СЭМ-53, огромный неуклюжий (носится как паровоз) робот-телохранитель, живут в самодельном домике на крыше. Их дом расположен в Нео-Берлине (если мы с первой попытки не поняли) — страшном (даже бандиты и наркоманы добрые) мегаполисе (более 34 персонажей), которым управляют корпорации (видимо, корпорации - это мэр Рампф, пародия на понятно кого, хаха, очень оригинально). Тина — дитя городских джунглей (локаций 10 города и русский бдсм-бар). Она научилась выживать в одиночестве (робот-телохранитель горько заплакал), роясь в городских помойках (тут справедливо, большая часть вещей либо на полу валяется, либо из мусорок собирается) и едва сводя концы с концами (поспорю, Тина вполне на харю-то жиренькая). Смешной робот (не смешной), запрограммированный защищать девочку, повсюду ее сопровождает.

Однажды девочка узнает, что отец поручил ей ответственную задачу: довести до конца его план и спасти мир от серости (план надежный, как швейцарские часы)! Тина и СЭМ отправляются навстречу удивительным приключениям в мирах (миры - это улицы Берлина и киберпространство для юных ботаников с головоломками на каждом шагу), населенных странными роботами (не очень странными - почти все были в Футураме) и гротескными человекоподобными существами (два, считая Рампфа). Решая головоломки (некоторые вменяемые, некоторые – без поллитры не догадаться) и вступая в увлекательные диалоги (не увлекательные), наши герои поймут, что значит быть живыми (не поймут).

В общем, друже, Энкодию без хорошей скидки я не рекомендую - есть много более интересных особей questus vulgaris. Но за старание автора, за доброту, отсутствие мозготраха и из-за любви к квестам я ставлю лайк. Надеюсь, следующая попытка будет лучше.

I'm sorry but the game was just not enjoyable for me. It's mostly fetch quests, running back and forth and pixel hunting. Also a few illogical puzzles that can only be figured out if you try using every item with another item. At one point I got stuck because I had missed a tiny rock laying on the ground, I had to look it up after running around for quite a while. Another puzzle I had to look up because it gave absolutely no feedback so I thought I was doing something wrong, found out you have to run to another location and click something to see if it's working.
And dear indie devs, please stop with the meta jokes, by this I mean breaking the fourth wall. It's cheap and it's not funny, so what is it for if it's only breaking immersion. "My cursor above you says nasty robot." Really, come on now.

The overall story was lovely though.

Would recommend only if you buy it on discount. The story didn't really blow me away, mostly because the main antagonist was more cringy than dangerous, and though some of the dialogue with other NPCs was entertaining, the interactions were too brief for any real depth. The puzzles were often frustrating, with lots of pixel hunting and trial and error when combining random pieces from your inventory, and I ended up just using a walkthrough for a good portion of the game. Visuals and soundtrack were top-notch however, and I wish they sold the soundtrack as a separate item since I'd buy that immediately (though it can be found on Spotify as well, but I'd prefer to support the artist). By the end of it I found myself wishing this was just a chill exploration game in the vein of Stardew Valley, since the city of Neo Berlin seemed to have a lot of thought put into its development and I would've liked to learn more about it than I was able to here.

This game, while nice to look at, did not offer much else. The humor is mostly fourth wall breaks, which stopped being funny in the first chapter. While solving the puzzles I felt like I was swamped with random items and red herrings and often shaking my head in disbelief about things I tried out of desperation and that just simply should not have worked like that, but somehow did anyway. And the story, sweet and heartwarming as it was, has unforgivably huge plot-holes and suffered from a cast of really awkward and often needlessly obnoxious and unhelpful characters.

The sad thing is, that there really is potential shining through, it could have been an exceptionally great game but something held it back. I bought this on a sale with a large discount and for that it was okay, but I would not recommend paying full price.

En positif, j'ai bien aimé le monde, l'histoire et les personnages même si ça tombe un peu parfois dans la facilité du 4ème mur et de l'archétypal. Les énigmes étaient pour la plupart logiques même si parfois un peu trop dures pour moi mais j'aime autant ça que l'inverse.
Par contre j'ai beaucoup moins apprécié un paquet d'aller retour d'un bout à l'autre des lieux connus, disons que se fader 3 couloirs sur 3 niveaux et retour pour activer un mécanisme, j'ai trouvé ça lourdingue. J'ai rarement parcouru autant de fois les mêmes trajets dans un point&click sans que ça apporte quoi que ce soit ni à l'histoire ni aux énigmes.

This is only a recommend if you're in the sweet spot target audience of cyberpunk/studio ghibli fans (and yes it's a bit of an awkward marriage).

The story isn't great, the puzzles aren't great, the voice acting is ordinary and the contemporary political/pop culture references are really on the nose and drag you out of the game quite a bit. It's the artwork and world design that does the heavy lifting here and they're the main reason I persisted to the end.

I LOVE this game!!! The art style is awesome, Tina and SAM are really loveable characters, the story is interesting and you can discover so many things :)
It would be great if Chaosmonger designs some Steam trading cards so I can get a badge and PLEASE I really like to have a background designed by them! OoO
Full recommendation if you're a fan of cyberpunk, point&click, a nice story and somewhat easy to solve riddles. I'm still not finished with the game while writing this, so I can only speak for the riddles up to chapter 4. Some of them took a lot of running around but were manageable. And I also want a CD of Mitsy singing. (:

I once wrote a review for an online Indie magazine about this game (that to be said, I got it for free for review purposes). I gave it a bad rating and I was very straight-forward on what I did not like about Encodya. But the time passed, I got more experienced in the genre, and I thought "Maybe try it again and see if it is that bad at all". Well, yes and no. But yes.

Back at the time I critizised a lot of things I would not critisize anymore. The graphics for example, I do not like them, but they are not bad either. Only Tina, main protagonist and "emotional centerpoint", looks like a doll straight out of a horror game. Her emotions don't reflect on her enormous face. But the athmosphere is okay. The Cyberpunk aspect is transported via rain, reflecting water puddles, a lot of neon and some flying cars, very cliché, but it does the job.
The game's speed is another point, it is splitted in tiny areas that you cannot cross quickly because of loading times. Tina and Sam, her steady companion robot, at least can run. But the construction of the levels makes it hard to navigate what I would call seamless.

So, these are the points that I am willing to accept. But there is no story that grasps me, no interesting world to explore. Everything focusses on the puzzles, the very core mechanic of a point and click adventure. But the puzzles feel like heavy rocks on your back, not like fun parts of the gameplay. They are annoying, exhausting. It always goes like this: enter an area - talk to everything - talk to the piece that must be opened/activated/etc. - talk to everything again - find someone who is willing to trade something useful - go and do tasks/find something for that person - success - return - repeat several times - open/activate the thing from the beginning. And all of that running and searching is not fun, it is a burden. There is no highlighting mode (at least I didn't find one, could be wrong though, but then some hidden achievements would lose their point), so every screen must be searched diligently. Most of the items that are needed just lie on the ground, with no reason at all why they are at that point whatsoever. That's just lazy puzzle-building! It feels endless until you do some progress and then it starts all over again, just with another map. The map areas do not feel connected, even the screens do feel like I passed a portal. I am disappointed by the design most of the time. And the riddles are tough, I used a Walkthrough Guide because otherwise I would have stopped playing after 20 minutes. There is no shame in using a guide, I did it to experience the story.

But there is the next disappointment. I hate to say it, but the story sucks. It features a generic villain (Rumpf, the developers deny it is referring to Donald T., but I am sure this is the case) with a generic accent (I can tell, as a German myself) and a generic "power" goal that remains cloudy. The story never catched me, and Tinas tragic story never touched me neither. First, I liked Sam and his interactions with the world. But then the story progressed and it got more and more bumpy, the pace felt off, the emotions were off, the cutscenes felt like pieces of paper floating across the screen and I began to wish it's over. No, I wouldn't recommend playing it for the story. Plus, there is no escapism for me as it pictures a saddening political future that may not be as far as I wished. And funny or witty moments are scarce. No reference got me smiling, no items took me back. Everything feels forced, like it was build from a model kit.

The conclusion is: My opinion didn't change. I cannot recommend this game. Please go and play
