If you are looking for DD1 remastered this is not it. It's similar but also has its differences. It feels easier and loot/itemization is a lot easier. It feels more chill than DD1 on the higher difficulties but still with a slight challenge. The new maps and story is fun and shakes things up with some fresh ideas that feel very DD1 but still new. It's worth the buy on sale, especially with a community team putting out consistent updates and patches. If you are just looking for more dungeon defenders then this game will give it to you. Multiplayer with friends is a little jank but not unplayable, hopefully they will update this soon.

Co-op and Online can be glitchy , Still updating the game here and there. DD1 is much more polished with more diverse content but has more paid DLC. Pretty clean UI. Overall a decent DD3 once you get used to it.

This is a very enjoyable entry into the Dungeon Defenders franchise. I personally think it captures a good amount of the charm the original has, while having a lot of modern features that makes it a lot easier of an entry point. The original developers did stop development, but the community team which has taken up development seems to be continuing at a very good pace.

Cara, que jogo ruim, não acredito que um dia faria uma avaliação negativa de um dungeon defenders, mas esse dia chegou e não posso passar esse pano, adoro o 1 e o 2, mas esse é definitivamente o pior, nada funciona direito, jogo abandonado, a pessoa abre o jogo e percebe o quão cansativo é jogar, sinto falta da essência que esse jogo não tem, aguardei 3 anos e quando vi na lista de desejo, decidi comprar, mas se arrependimento matasse, hoje era a missa do sétimo dia, não cometam o mesmo erro que eu.

the devs ignore bugs and issues and just continue to add content. want to play with your friend? go ahead. however there's a high chance you crash after the game and lose your current money unless your host. want to do a survival? ok have fun emptying your inventory afterwards. the stash can only be transferred from once unless u swap lobbies. and if you don't swap you get stuck in an infinite loading screen that doesn't do anything. now you alt f4 the game and do it again. these are just a couple of the bugs I'm sick of playing around. the devs don't care and wont fix the issues.

This game gets a deserved mixed reputation, but it is turning around. They have a community development team, and the core gameplay you expect from a Dungeon Defenders game is present. It is clear that there were some budget and development issues behind the scene (notwithstanding Chromatic Games's constant creation of new titles.)

DDA is poised to be probably the best of the DD games, as long as development continues. There are obvious low impact bugs that are being backlogged in favor of more critical issues that arise during development, but I'm optimistic that with the new dev team, after core systems are developed and stable, that QoL changes will start to come.

Far more interesting than its predecessor (though marred by bad design decisions, from what I've heard).
The devs abandoned it, but fans picked it up again, so it's still being maintained.

At least if you buy this one, you actually get the whole game.
If you have any love for DDA, then yell at Chromatic for daring to backport free content from this into DD1 as paid DLC.

Это переиздание первой части! Просто обновили графику. Куча того что мне не нравилось в первой части перенесли в эту игру. Могли бы переосмыслить и создать новое, но нет. Спасибо сделали что все герои в пачке качаются сразу, а не как в оригинале! За то что не надо собирать кристаллы магии из сундуков бегая по карте тоже спс. Почему все персонажи одного размера? Это что за костюмированная вечеринка карликов? Зачем опять разделили персонажей на онлайн и соло? Зачем тряска камеры при огре? нафига??? Уродское меню при выборе режима, пластиковость окружения и персонажей. Я большой поклонник этой серии игр, но мне зашла 2 часть, на ней пожалуй и остановлюсь. Купил игру по большой скидке, да и ладно, поддержал разрабов.

Мне игра очень понравилась, единственное, что в ней возможно хромает это оптимизация. Графика хороша, режимов тут хватает, а то как видел некоторые комментаторы писали мол мало режимов, сам интерфейс фигня и прочее, игра обновляется регулярно и добавляет новый контент, я глянул в интернете как она выглядела ранее и как сейчас, скажу так разрабы учли негативные комментарии и пофиксили игру, сам геймплей сильно увлекает, особенно нравится чувствовать у себя апгрейд, когда переходишь на новую сложность и получаешь крутые шмотки, здесь это особенно чувствуется, разнообразие персонажей тут хватает. Если вы любители серии dungeon defenders и думаете купить эту игру или нет, как это я в своё время долго раздумывал, так могу сказать что игра себя окупает

Despite this being the 3rd game, it's basically the forgotten 3rd child that I was in all honesty extremely excited for when it was first announced. I have a small amount of hours played on this one solely because it was a buggy mess and bare bones (nothing to really farm for) when it first came out. At the time, I finished everything there was to finish in 36 hours which is sad. Don't know if this changed, but they never explained stats and just hoped the player would guess right. The lobbies at the time were filled with cheaters.

The developers only really update DD2. This game had a major update in 2023 and only recently did another major update happen. That's a 3 year difference, whereas DD2 gets them super frequently.

Then they decided to release some rouge-like game in 2025 that almost no one enjoyed because it's a hot buggy mess and doesn't stick with the style of game that their only player base likes. Like, we understand you want to branch out to bring in more players, but if you can't keep your current player base happy, why do you think people would want to play different games by you?

All of, what little player base existed, is slowly dying off because this company can't figure out what it is they're doing or want to do.

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened

In all honesty, it's not a bad game - with that being said, I mean in the core concept of mechanics and gameplay.

It is however finicky when it comes to matchmaking stability. Disconnects during match loading and switching maps while in a party can have a 75% chance of kicking some players. It's frustrating, certainly.

There are minor flaws for sure but with some friends, it's still a fun grind. 5/10 from me, for now.

All I can say here is play it for yourself if you own it or wait until some patches/fixes get implemented (if they do)

Okay, so the dungeon defenders that costs 40$ regularly... has next to no content compared to dd2? Theres like 3 game lobbies open right now in the entirety of the browser servers. This is solely what my negative review is based around.. I bought this expecting to have a few other players to coop with like any of the other dungeon defenders. Found out it has less content than 1 or 2... WHY is this the paid version..

They've released more content for dd2 thank awakened.

Get on sale if your interested in playing solo or splitscreen. Do not rely on the multiplayer function to have that good old dungeon defenders coop experience.

This game evolved after the first 2 Community Patches to a Great Game and "ALMOST" when not even better a Worthy Third Game of this Series. if somebody needs help you get it almost everytime and the gear progression is also not as Hardcore as in the first game, but tbf, the first game has also 10 to 15 years more on content also.

what a weak remaster...endless bugs, cheaper animations and weaker gameplay. The only reason to even think about playing this is the QoL when it comes to optimisation, at least it runs decently, though it's very lacklastre when it comes to content in comparison to DD and DD2, I really would not recommend it

Hands down the most buggy pos game I've ever played. There are so many game breaking and progress bugs in this game its insane. How is it this company is still afloat is beyond me. Most bugs seem to happen in co-op. If you're in a game with friends and the host ends game your game crashes. Or the worst bug is the gold bug where you lose all your gold if you join someone. The devs don't address the bugs. Same for DD2 my freind used to play it but now they can't even run the game without it crashing. I'm telling you these devs don't know how to make a stable game.

I came back to Etheria thinking I’d just relive the glory days of 2011 with some better lighting.

Six hours later, I am back in the Hero Deck lab, meticulously balancing a party of four heroes like I’m managing a professional esports team. I spend my afternoons obsessing over 'Rifted' gear stats and 'Fusion' bonuses, trying to calculate if my Harpoon Tower needs more projectile speed or if I should just accept that my life now belongs to the grind of Massacre difficulty.

In real life, I can barely decide which socks to wear. In Awakened, I am a tactical architect who can swap from a wall-building Squire to a trap-laying Huntress in mid-air while a wave of three thousand angry orcs tries to turn my crystal into confetti. I went into a map for 'one quick survival run'; I came out three days later with a glowing giraffe pet, a legendary staff that shoots bouncing stars, and a thumb that is permanently sore from holding the repair button.

The graphics are crisp and colorful, the movement is smoother than ever, and the feeling of watching a perfectly placed 'Overcharge' boost melt a boss is better than a promotion at work. I’ve reached the point where I don't see enemies anymore; I just see walking loot bags that occasionally get stuck on my spike blockades.

10/10. I told my family I’d be down for dinner in ten minutes, but a Siren just spawned near my core and I’ve officially entered 'the zone.' See you in 2027.

Despite popular opinion, I like this Dungeon Defenders. This game started out with a lot of potential. Players were losing optimism about the direction of the game as updates slowed down. It didn't help when the developers announce they would no longer be supporting the game with content updates.

Some 2 years later with a community development team, I believe they have what it takes to bring this game back to life. There still is a lot of potential to make some interesting changes and create content that will reel players in!

If you catch the game on sale, it's definitely work buying when it's less than $10. So much content and hours of grinding for such a low price.

Dungeon Defenders is just a franchise that's being milked to death, even playing this game for free wasn't worth the storage space it took on my pc. The devs do no care about this game like all their other failed games. God have mercy on those who spent the money to fundraise their next game because like this, it's going to be another failed cashgrab.

I’ve put 600+ hours into Dungeon Defenders Awakened, which I think officially qualifies as both “dedicated fan” and “a casual player” But honestly? I regret nothing.

If you loved Dungeon Defenders 1, this is basically the glowup version.
All the QoL updates you wished the original had? They’re here.
The road to higher maps and better gear? Super fun, occasionally painful, and sometimes the game just politely (and repeatedly) reminds you you’re bad at tower placement.
But hey, that’s part of the charm.

Now, does it have the same amount of content as DD1?
No.
But what’s here is cleaner, smoother, faster, and just feels better overall. Think “DD1, but better.”

If you want a nostalgia hit that doesn’t feel like you’re wrestling with a 2011 interface, this is absolutely it.
If you want the exact mountain of content DD1 had… well, maybe someday, they recently started updating the game again wich is great.

TL;DR: Great game, fun grind, challenging path to the top, and a worthy successor with fewer toys but shinier ones. I can reccomend this game

coop crashes are with almost every second map switch and if you are not the session host there is a 50/50 chance you loose all your gold.
some maps have missing textures and aim of some towers on flying enemy types is broken (knight sniper and balliste miss 40% of the time against choppers)
in most maps with choppers there are some collision problems that make it impossible for your towers to hit the flying ogres untill they are right next to your towers/crystal (worst offender is glitterhelm mines)
and a smorges board of other visual and other bugs.

and we still have not talked about all the promised and never delivered content by the devs.

if you have to play a dd game and don`t want to play one of the first two then you will have some fun with this one, but it does not life up to expectations.

Really LOVED the updated graphics on the maps, and how they adjusted the story with new maps and actually has it seperated into acts with this game. A little disappointed about the amount of playable hero's compared to the first game and whats currently available maybe they'll add more? i love the changes to the UI and the use of "Hero Deck" compared to originally having to swap in the forge. haven't played alot because i am still early in the game and the pace seems kind of slow on medium but the challenge is there for beginning the game for sure!

I decided to change my rating, but it's a bit more complicated than that.

We can look at this game from 2 angles. If we consider it a separate game, then it's really good. Hell, I would say it's one of the best tower defense games available. Many heroes, towers, diverse maps, lot's of difficulties levels, gear so on and so forth. For that alone I recommend it highly.

However, this game is a remaster of an old title Dungeon Defenders. It's the same maps, same enemies, same formula. It's just a fresh coat of paint (and it looks really nice) with welcome QoL changes. Unfortunetaly I feel like it's just a cash grab. The developers put the game on life support almost inmmediatly after the release. There is a ton of ui bugs, towers imbalance (summoner spider minions are times more powerful than other towers), and simply lack of content. Of course you still can sink a lot of hours into it, but I understand the negative reviews that were expecting this game to get content updates like DD1.

У игры есть хорошее будущее, если разработчики возьмутся за её дальнейшее развитие. А пока грустно наблюдать, как вполне рабочий проект остаётся без внимания. Также было бы неплохо увидеть поддержку мастерской Steam — если сами разработчики не хотят ничего делать, это может дать игре вторую жизнь. (Наконец-то игрой занялись и начали выпускать патчи и фиксы почти каждую неделю)

• На русский язык игра преимущественно [b]не переведена[/b]. И, судя по релизу игры аж в мае 2020-го года, — полной локализации ждать не стоит.

• Четверть времени [b]ничего не видишь[/b] из-за рельефа, предметов окружения или самого персонажа, полностью загораживающих ему же обзор. Вида от первого лица или, хотя бы, вида, сильно смещённого вбок в игре нет.

• Заранее никак не угадать, [b]куда можно поставить ловушку[/b], а куда нельзя. То на столбик можно водрузить пушку, а то на ровное место нельзя поставить. Или же можно поставить на то, что только что светилось красным, то есть недоступным для установки. Наглядность и информативность интерфейса никакая.

• Даже в режиме строительства [b]не отображаются сектора[/b] стрельбы стреляющих ловушек.

• [b]Неочевидно[/b] ни то, как изменить поворот ловушки без её удаления, ни будут ли возвращены ресурсы при её разрушении / продаже?

• В режиме ремонта [b]не отображается здоровье ловушек[/b], отображаемое только при отключении режима ремонта.

I saw the bad reviews from the previous versions of the game. Thankfully, I did not experience the bugs and quality of life issues that the game previously had. As a casual player I had a blast playing DDA. The graphics and gameplay are good. It's a game that i'll pick up every now and then but it's not something that I'll spend a hundred hours on. It's sad that the devs stopped giving updates, I think I'd play more if the lobbies had more players and if the game still received updates. If this game is on sale buy it and if it's not just wait for it to go on sale.

Dungeon Defenders is one of my favorite games of all time. This is like a remake with all of the charm gone from the original. The art style, quirkiness, and overall feel is so much worse than the original. It also, to me, felt incomplete compared to the original game, but the lack of updates has cemented it in its "uninstalled" spot in my library.

There are QOL changes, but depending on your style some those are just "streamlined/cut down" features from DD1. I would recommend watching gameplay to see if you like the changes, but for me, it wasn't worth it. And I bought day 1 of release. (Also have played after the major updates, but there haven't been any in a looong time.)

For me, there's no reason to get this while the original is available, at a better price, and with more content - Disappointing.

Devs have continuously released games and seemingly almost instantly abandon them. They just can't get it together. Some of the games they've made... okay, really they've just made one game, over and over and over- but some iterations have been insanely fun. I just can no longer stomach the fact that I am simply throwing money into a machine that merely spits out cheap replicas of the original, which, just like the original, will inevitably be abandoned only to be 'revived' again with a new coat of paint (maybe) and name (...maybe...). You guys had me over a decade ago, and I came back for some more a few times, but I can no longer support these cash grabs.

I really have loved Dungeon Defenders game since I was a kid, But i won't be recommending or playing any future titles. I don't know why you guys couldn't stick with DD2 and make it the best possible thing you could. Or even Awakened or whatever the next game is or the one on kickstarter. Its like you get so far in development you run out of how to improve your game drop and expect the fans to kickstarter the next one. You found the formula with 1, I like awakened better than 2. BUT PICK ONE AND STICK WITH IT. I'm not starting over in a dungeon defenders game again, nor will I be buying one.

I got Dungeon Defender Awakened in a bundle with the original game and after completing both, the original is better and more challenging while being fair. Awakened once you get past act 4 the cutscene intros for levels are missing, you beat the boss of act 5 and there is no cutscene for winning. It's like I've played 80% of a completed game as the last act feels broken and unfinished. If you have to play a Dungeon Defender game, play the first one. Plays better, looks better not trying to do the cell shaded look that doesn't look great and people are still playing it.
