ホラーADV。（全くではないが）ほとんどショックスケアはなく、とにかくサウンドが怖い。
謎解きがものすごくちょうど良い難易度だったり、ゲームオーバーになっても巻き戻らずに一定の場所から復帰できたりと親切。歩く速度が遅くなる場合もあるが、基本的には動きもこの雰囲気にしては速い部類だと思う。

そういうわけでプレイ中はものすごく面白かったのだが、どうもエンディングの納得性が低い。
べつに[spoiler] ハッピーエンドにしろ[/spoiler]と言いたいわけではないし、侘しさのあるこのエンドそのものは悪くはないと思うのだが……一言で言うと「プレイ感とエンディングが繋がっていない」と感じてしまった。
ネタバレしないようにするとうまく言えないのだが、プレイ内容とエンディングが地続きではないというか、プレイの甲斐がないというか、なんかそのへんで納得性が低い気がした。面白かったことは面白かったのだが。

难度不大，但是流程过短。交互很烂，只能用鼠标点击移动，非常容易误触进门出门，地图解密点做的太线性了路又长导致要跑的路程大大增加，恐怖元素做的很对胃口，可惜太少不够过瘾。剧情感觉玩一半不到就猜出个大概了。[spoiler]话说女学生因为家庭原因缺爱结果被男老师引诱爱上男老师的剧情真是屡见不鲜了，无力吐槽，更无力吐槽的是男老师结局时的剖白，年龄阅历智识都远远超出女学生结果说对她是真爱……[/spoiler]，但是大体上还是一部很优秀的游戏，剧情塑造方面做的还是很不错的，美术风格也很喜欢，原价入手不太推荐，打折入手就物超所值

之前macbook学习版通关过，依稀记得小时候看别人解说这游戏给我吓得好几天都要和我妈一起睡，以至于现在长大了还是有阴影别人陪着才敢玩，阴间质感和音效所带来的恐惧感简直刻在我DNA里了，光看女主的脸都有种恐怖谷的感觉，还有这个会突然瞬移的魍魉，每次看到他都只敢龟缩在教室里，老实说吓人的部分不是很多，一个是前期的魍魉另一个是中期的提灯竹竿人，后期以解迷为主恐怖感大大减弱了，但是整体氛围还是巨tm的阴间和压抑，不知道有没有我童年滤镜的问题，我一个人玩这个游戏每一秒都是折磨，剧情方面不算特别出色，甚至有点降智，但总体来说是一款极其出色的游戏

一对情侣躺在床上，突然女孩脱下了所有的衣服，拉开了窗帘，打开了所有的灯，赤身裸体地回到了她的恋人身侧。多年后，男人回到了英国，回忆这件事，猜测那时她是安插在他身边的线人，那并非是情侣之间的调情，而是为了方便街对面同伙的监视与拍摄。
没有人能在系统中置身事外。
这是真实的故事，却不一定是诚实的故事。无法谴责谁，也没有权力去原谅，这就是《返校》的故事。
告密是人间的潘多拉魔盒，承受道德与罪的煎熬的同时，自我也逐渐走向虚无和毁灭。
方芮欣在钢琴上按出的《望春风》，心内弹琵琶，怀春的少女因为软弱，任由困境塑造了自己。
爱是一个气势不凡的词，以至于我犹豫要不要用爱来形容方芮欣和老师之间的感情。爱像恐怖主义，思春的少女，蓝天白云在街巷里照作十字架，那父被我们抛弃。人心底的勇气熊熊燃烧，别无选择。此后，如蝴蝶扇动翅膀，垮了一栋通天厦。
拨动电话的那一刻，有什么东西永远地断裂了。说每个人都有错，说是时代的错，这样的判词是不负责任的。然而在屠杀面前，语言是无力的，诗能颠覆的只有诗，诗无法翻越人的行为。
距离第一次玩《返校》已经过去许多年，直到今天，中华区仍然没有在玩法和剧情上超越《返校》的恐怖游戏。直到现在，我仍然记得粉色的电影院，台风天的学校，布袋与枪声。白鹿予水仙，今生无缘，来世再见。《返校》是有着多义性的作品，仅仅是我，就经历过对敢于触及历史背景的震撼、对故事中展现出的人性感到无奈、以及对那份恋情感动又警惕等等多样的思考和心绪。
赞美和哀伤是一件很容易的事情，记得却很难。
1948年，《世界人权宣言》将免于恐惧的自由列为基本人权。人不是应该生而自由吗？这句话在今天听来，却仍然那么无力。
今天，我随机到了《detention》的原声带，所以我选择用这种方式回溯，至少，我记得。

Detention tem uma história interessante em ambientação pouco explorada e sob ponto de vista de desenvolvedores chineses. Os cenários são bonitos, mas os personagens e principalmente as animações deixam um pouco a desejar. Quanto a gameplay, os puzzles são muito simples e os inimigos não apresentam grande ameaça. Dado que é uma equipe pequena dá pra relevar os aspectos negativos. Vá para esse jogo pela parte narrativa que é seu ponto forte.

This horror game isn't your usual jumpscares and chasing you with monsters, but more of true world historical horror that has actually happened and how it affects a child. From being hopeful because someone listened to her, to eventually dooming those people to death simply because they want freedom.

This game has my total respect and people should start playing it since it's at a low price and just takes 3 hours to play.

悲劇を描いた欝々しいホラーゲームとして傑作だと思う。
主人公がなぜ怪異に満ちた校舎に迷い込んだのか、劇中でドラマチックに語られており、舞台背景も必然であったと思う。
このゲームはストーリー、グラフィック、ゲームギミック、音楽、すべてが素晴らしいと思えました。

以下は感想です。

人はいまより少し幸せになりたいと思いながら生きているのではないだろうか？
明日は少しでもマシな一日でありますようにと願いながら眠りにつくものではないだろうか？

この物語に登場する少女もそんなわずかな希望を胸に悲惨な毎日を何とかやり過ごしていた。
ゲームの舞台は戒厳令がひかれた時代だが、彼女が願ったのは、社会への反抗、革命といったたいそうなことではないと思う。

彼女は、ただ一人、自分をふつうに愛していつくしんでくれる人を得ることを望んだだけだった。
決して母のようにはなるまい、その思いだけが彼女を生かしていた。

そのささやかな夢さえもかなわないとわかった時に彼女は思ったのだ。

「裏切られる前に裏切ろう、私を愛さないのならあなたの夢でさえ壊そう。」

その決断は自分を含めて全員が破滅することだとわかっていても、彼女に選択肢は残っていなかった。
まだ10代の少女がそんな選択しかできないぐらい非情な環境におかれたのが不幸でならなかったと思う。

そして皮肉なのは彼女が蔑んでいた母親よりも最悪な末路をたどったことだろう。
劇中の中盤ぐらいから彼女の過去が語られ、家庭環境や母親を蔑視していることが伝わってくるが、親のようにはなるまいとと抵抗しつつも、結局は親と同じ道を歩んでしまっていることが哀れでならなかった。

周りから見れば彼女がなぜそんなことをしたのかは永久にわからない。
ゲーム中の出来事や彼女の過去をプレイヤーとして体験すれば、少女が真実を確かめずに絶望したのは無理もないと思えた。
[spoiler] 先生が別の女性と深い仲であるのか、話して確認する余地はあったと思うが、精神的に破綻寸前だった少女に冷静な判断をさせるのは酷なことだろう。未成年の少女に手を出して政治犯として革命に巻き込むような夢見がちの男性なので信用できないのも無理はないと思えた。[/spoiler]
彼女の決断の巻き添えを喰らった人物がエピローグに事の顛末を語るが、それからも彼女の心情をうかがうことは叶わない。
真相は永遠に闇の中であり、時がとまった校舎が残るだけだ。

Detention não é um jogo assustador no sentido tradicional, dificilmente vai apostar em sustos ou ação intensa do personagem. É um medo muito mais sutil, desconfortável e principalmente simbólico. No quesito ambientação, faz isso com maestria: arte belíssima, trabalho de efeitos sonoros e trilha sonora que também são um show à parte. Enfim, é bem marcante e com muita identidade.

De fato, o principal do jogo é a sua narrativa, que tem um destaque imenso, porém exige muito do jogador. Ela depende bastante de interpretação e de pelo menos uma noção do contexto histórico no qual a história se passa. Então, pra uma boa compreensão, é mais do que necessário que vc jogue lendo todas as notas, prestando atenção e refletindo. Caso contrário, parte do impacto pode se perder. O jogo em momento algum mastiga a história pro jogador, ele confia que vc vai acompanhar o subtexto.

Já em questão de gameplay, a exploração é super básica e os puzzles são simples, dificilmente vc vai se encontrar travado em algum. Já na primeira hora vc entende praticamente tudo oq vai fazer até o final do jogo. Não há aprofundamento nas mecânicas, e isso pode acabar passando uma sensação de repetição.

Mas, no geral, Detention funciona muito mais como uma belíssima experiência artística do que como um videogame tradicional (oq jamais seria um problema pra mim). Tem momentos memoráveis pela mensagem passada e pela atmosfera criada. Se vc é alguém que valoriza narrativas, mesmo que elas fiquem acima da gameplay, com certeza vai ter uma experiência impactante.

《返校》绝对是一款神作，而不是某些人口中的辱华作品，而且说出真实的历史本就是一件很正确的事情啊，讲真的，《返校》才是中国需要的作品，无论是《烟火》或是《黑羊》等其他的国产作品，充其量也不过是代餐作品罢了，没有《返校》，国人能做出更优秀的同类型游戏？呵呵，搁那招笑呢。

Слишком уж душная, и да, даже с гайдами душная и не интересная, унылые локации и геймплей, отсутствие атмосферы, скудное количество второстепенных персонажей и врагов, абсолютно слабый сюжет, отсутствие качественного музыкального сопровождения, минимальное количество скримеров и психологического хоррора, не вынес всего этого и снёс игру, не рекомендую к покупке, жалею потраченного на неё времени и средств.

Отсебятина: игра максимально лайтовая, часов геймплея слишком много для такого скучного сюжета, автор решил смешать все проблемы главной героини в одну чашу и в итоге получилась непонятная блевотная каша с политотой, проблемами в семье и в школе, очень слабая реализация всех аспектов. Игру считаю максимально переоценённой. Слабо-характерным и отсталым либералам сойдёт, они такое схавают с костями и потрохами.

This game was really excellent. I loved the atmosphere so much. It was scary and demented in the best kind of ways. I can't fully understand the exact cultural implications underlying the story, but the concept was pretty universally horrific.

The art style was so cool. It just oozed passion project. While it was only 4.8hr to beat, I never got bored, I kept opening the game to see what was next. I have a bad habit of opening a game and playing it for a little while, and then abandoning for something else, spoiled for choice. This one, however, I was fully engaged in.

Thought provoking indie game with an eerie atmosphere and engaging story. Intriguing lore inspired by real life political events. It does a great job exposing you to Taiwanese culture, mythology and history while also staying as a self-containing survival horror game with its own story. The history that it takes inspiration from is also interesting if you want to go down a wiki rabbit hole. It's not too long and decently priced, so it's a recommend. It also spawned a movie and a TV series. I guess you can watch those instead lol, or as a supplement to the game.

[h1]One of the best psychological horror narrative-focused game I've played.[/h1]

Story has inspirations from Silent Hill, but never copies stuff. Lot of love and care put into the narrative and historical elements. Themes explored through puzzles and setpieces is amazing too. The grunge-y artstyle is so well done too.
The music track "Gunshot" is SO GOOD, it's in same league is "Theme Of Laura" for me.

A story compelling both for what it is, but also how it is told. Atmospheric as hell despite the clear budgetary restrictions, and I enjoyed the few moments of gameplay present which make it feel like an adventure game rather than just a walking sim. Not overwritten (which I find to be the problem with a lot of similar games), not overlong, and not overstated, while still balancing the societal and personal very well.

I hope Red Candle returns to horror someday. I'd love to see them make something with a similar budget to, say, Bloober.

I know I'm late to the game since it's been almost 10 years since its release, but I'm so grateful I got around to try it out with no previous spoilers or knowledge of its content.
It has one of the best executions for a horror game that I've ever seen. The artstyle is unique, the music and sound was so beautiful and eerie and it has such a powerful story.
I cannot find one thing I'd change about it since everything really worked for the game's favor storytelling- and vibes-wise.
All in all I had such a blast playing it. I even enjoyed getting jumpscared by the various subtle spooks... I fear it increased the bar for good games for me. 12/10 game, I will not shut up about it anytime soon..

The plot is good but it's a very short game, the little love story has nothing to do here.
I'd delete half the puzzles if not all of them. Same with the monsters, folkloric elements has nothing to do with the rest of game. Another frustrating thing is that you are not allowed to run freely every time you want, not to mention you can't move with AS keys (criminal).

Playing through the developer's back catalogue after playing Nine Sols. Effective horror that consistently gave me chills. Knowing there's a _real_ past your contending with makes it much scarier because you can't dismiss it as fiction.
The game's puzzles and level design are not too confusing sothat I don't have to constantly look up walkthroughs and are consistently spooky for different reasons.
I'm too much of a coward to finish it but it's very good.

Ngl Detention is not scary but...BUT! It's one of the most depressing and bittersweet I ever get to experience. The horror is definitely not the spirits or the gnarly visuals, but it's the oppresive atmosphere and time period that Detention takes place in. Frankly, this is the selling point that stands out the most, as I don't think other games tackle Cold War era Taiwan where martial law is in effect. For a history and culture buff like me, this is a treat.

Gameplay wise is standard 2D point n click where you can only move left and right. Progression is done via puzzles to unlock the next point, also standard stuff. The puzzles are easy and not difficult at all but nevertheless, they actually fun and ties into Chinese/Taiwanese culture and folklore. The story in contrast is well written and has a shocking twist at the last 2 chapters, I won't spoil and I hereby say it's best to experience it yourself.

It's a short experience (about 3 hrs completion) that's absolutely worth delving into and I highly recommended, 9/10

This game features some of the best storytelling I have seen. The story unfolds in a very non-linear manner, slowly unfolding everything, yet never holding your hand to do so. There's more environmental storytelling and visual hints than anything else, and you will be required to take a moment to think about what it all means within the grander narrative. Despite the fact you will start off confused, and question whether what is portrayed is true or not many times throughout, I believe that by the end the game answers all of the questions it has previously set up. I do not wish to spoil anything, so it's hard to talk more about its story, but from start to end this was chilling, horrifying, yet extremely well executed and masterfully portrayed. There's jumpscares, ghosts and monsters, but the real horror is none of those. The true horror comes with the events portrayed, and the circumstances wherein the characters are put.

The game features some great artistic direction, with very unsettling but beautiful visuals, and masterful use of color and visual textures as a storytelling device. Since there isn't much text or dialogue, especially when the character is alone (besides gameplay hints), the game vastly depends on her surroundings to drive a point and show her feelings or thoughts. Music and sound design are equally well done and serve the same purpose, though in a much subtler manner due to the nature of the game, that needed a quieter, eerie atmosphere.

A great, thought provoking game that should be experienced slowly and thought about deeply. A very real example of why games are a form of art.

This game is mechanically simple yet tells an excellent story. Before this game, I knew nothing about Taiwan besides what was televised. After playing this game I learned about the White Terror and It's impact on the people of Taiwan. I have so much to say so just go ahead and play it.

I am a huge fan of horror and especially more unusual horror(e.g. An Outcry, vivarium, DDLC, the 1955 film night of the hunter) and I have to say, this may be the greatest work of horror fiction I have ever experienced. A truly powerful and unsettling game with a fascinating plot, phenomenal writing and good puzzle design. 10/10 a absolutely perfect horror game.

It's been so long since I've always wanted to play this game and finally had a chance to purchase it. And wow, it was beyond my expectations, I didn't expect the ending to be that dark. The horror graphics and the atmosphere that this game brings are so tense and creep me out so badly in a few parts, even the jumpscares are not too crazy, which is a good thing, because this game doesn't really need so much of jumpscares to prove its horroness. The puzzle difficulty is like 3 out of 5, it doesn't really take too long to solve each mystery and still keeps intrigued in figuring out more of the story path. Also I had no idea that I'd face decisions with some choice options, and I don't know yet whether there's only one ending or any alternatives based on the choices that I've made. Well overall, it was such a worth-spent purchase for my first game ever on Steam and also exceeded what I'd imagined about this game for so long.

LA RECENSIONE CONTIENE SPOILER

Detention è un'esperienza videoludica spettacolare.
Il gameplay è il classico che si può trovare in diverse esperienze horror di questo tipo, di quelle che puntano all'enigma e allo storytelling, dunque non aspettatevi movimenti veloci o azione pura: questo è un gioco che va vissuto con calma.
Si tratta di un gioco che si gioca principalmente risolvendo enigmi e raccogliendo oggetti. Nei primi capitoli del gioco viene anche introdotta la meccanica del trattenere il fiato vicino ai mostri e quella delle offerte di cibo, unico modo per poter "affrontare" le ostilità in game.

La storia è magnifica. Profonda, intricata, estremamente psicologica e viene approfondita in maniera tridimensionale. Dall'oppressione del governo e le sue conseguenze nella scuola fino alla vita della protagonista e ai problemi familiari. Anche la storia d'amore con il professore e l'immagine di Wei che torna e viene riproposta in varie forme procedendo con la storia sono un'ottima cornice per il profilo psicologico della ragazza.
Ho apprezzato molto le azioni disturbanti che devi fare per alcuni enigmi, la più eclatante è sicuramente quella di sgozzare il corpo di Wei già senza vita per raccoglierne il sangue.

Ho apprezzato la grafica originale e caratteristica, le immagini crude e l'introduzione di alcune foto reali.
La struttura delle cutscene sa metterti angoscia e curiosità allo stesso tempo.

Per quanto riguarda il comparto audio anche qui non ho nulla da criticare. Musica e suoni sono impeccabili, ovviamente particolarmente godibili con delle cuffie. L'audio contribuisce più di qualsiasi altra cosa all'immersione nell'ambiente di gioco, come spesso accade per i giochi horror.

La mia unica critica al gioco cade sulla decisione dei finali. Il finale canonico del gioco è quello che possiamo definire "good ending". Tale finale per me non ha senso: Sembra un tentativo forzato di darti un finale positivo, che stona totalmente con tutto ciò che è stato mostrato nel corso del gioco. Ottenere il finale canonico ti da un senso di incompletezza mostruoso. Dov'è tutta la parte di rielaborazione del trauma? Quando la protagonista ha potuto ricostruirsi una nuova speranza per il fututo? Ad esser franco, questo finale potrebbe funzionare solo con un intero capitolo aggiuntivo focalizzato sulla ripresa psicologica della protagonista.
D'altro canto, trovo un finale estremamente adatto alla storia quello del bad ending. Tragico, crudo, violento. Ma estremamente vero, autentico, comprensibile. Un finale degno di tutta la storia che è stata raccontata in precedenza e che mi ha lasciato molto più soddisfatto.

In conclusione, consiglio questo gioco a chiunque cerchi un'esperienza horror coi controcazzi. Merita.

This is not a horror game; it’s an interactive story. The initial horror elements are just a pretext to tell a well-written story, using the right medium. A video game allows the player to make choices, even if the story itself cannot be changed. In fact, the two endings (which are simply two perspectives on the same story) are a way to portray something truly horrifying about the period of martial law in Taiwan.

While the beginning may feel like a mix between a point-and-click adventure and a survival horror game, after about twenty minutes it moves much closer to the narrative approach of Valiant Hearts (Ubisoft).

If an interactive graphic novel like this has inspired both a movie and a Netflix series, there is a reason. Recommended for anyone looking for a strong well written story.

Better to play with Headphones (Music and Sounds are really great).

This game is such a beautiful blend of the personal and political. It gave such a unique perspective on children living under martial law.
It was also a masterclass in non-linear storytelling.
The visuals and audio combine with this to create an [i]eerily immersive[/i] experience of the story.

2. Horrors of tyranny, systems, jealously, regrets, and abuse

This game is mind boggling atmosphiric and had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. Such a powerful visual storytelling experience!

If you love horror with a sprinkling of morality and angst, you will definately enjoy this game!
