Deathtrap is a Tower Defense game with strong action-RPG elements, a game of vicious tricks, killing machines, rotating blades and splattering blood. Hidden gem. Aged very well. Among the most versatile TD games out there. Towers, traps and 1 of 3 RPG characters u have to choose for ur campaign (each char has its own saved progression - u CANT switch chars in a campaign, so if u want 3 high level chars u have to level them all up on their own). Melee, range or mage. U can equip weapons, rings, amulets, armors, hats and 3 gems that effect ur traps. Tons of possibilities how to combine stuff. U cant build a maze, the positions where u can build towers/traps are predefined but the possibilities come from how u combine all ur gear. Solo, 4 player coop or even PvP. Has an editor and uses Steam workshop to share maps. Nowadays this would a game with 4 DLCs

Si Deathtrap n'est pas un mauvais jeu, ce n'est pas non plus un bon jeu comme beaucoup le laisse à penser. C'est surtout un jeu moyen qui possède quelques qualités mais également de nombreux défauts qu'il vous faudra "oublier" pour pouvoir apprécier celui ci.

Côté histoire, et cela va être rapide, il n'y en a pas... "Grossssso" Modo vous êtes un gardien qui doit protéger des lieux des démons et parfois des machines (pourquoi? j'en sais rien). Vous avez le choix entre trois perso' (Une magicienne, un mercenaire et un tireur). Et il n'y a pas de cinématique ou autre. Pour dire la fin est "merci d'avoir joué" et... générique de fin c'est tout ^^

Côté technique, c'est pas toujours la joie... l' IA est perfectible et si cela joue en votre faveur régulièrement, cela peut aussi toucher vos alliés et là c'est moins l'extase que lorsque c'est le contraire ^^ Surtout quand ces crétins regardent les ennemis passer sans bouger et que vous êtes submergé de votre côté.

Graphiquement, c'est pas toujours la joie... Certains lieux provoque des blocages des éléments du premier plan qui doivent s'effacer normalement lorsque votre personnage passe derrière et concrètement vous ne voyez rien... Vous avez par exemple des jolis arbres morts qui bloquent la vue ou des statues ou d'autres choses. Ajouter de la difficulté à de la difficulté, il y a un côté sado maso à ce jeu qu'il faut aimer ^^
Le jeu est plutôt pauvre graphiquement pas moche mais classique dans son design général, par contre les animations des ennemis sont soignées, il faut le reconnaitre.

Concrètement, le jeu est composé de 3 modes, un mode "campagne", un mode scénario 'anecdotique au passage mais sympa 5 minutes) et un mode endless qui est amusant là aussi les 10 premières vagues mais dont vous voyez les limites et la répétitivité rapidement.

Le mode campagne est composé de 13 niveaux décomposés en tiers (1 à 4). Concrètement, vous devez faire les niveaux dans l'ordre 1 à 13 (Sachant que passé le niveau 3 ou 4 (relativement facile), la difficulté peut doubler ou tripler d'un niveau à l'autre sans raison apparente). Une fois fait les niveaux du tiers 1, vous pourrez faire le tiers 2 et ainsi de suite.

Une chose sympa, chaque niveau dans chaque tiers amène des contraintes différentes, certains te laisse n'utiliser que tel ou tel "truc", certains te donne un allié supplémentaire mais quand tu vois ce que tu vas prendre dans la face, tu maudis les dev' ^^... J'aime beaucoup l'idée car rien n'est acquis.

Votre perso monte de niveau (100 max) et acquiert des points de compétences. Attention, toutes les compétences et pouvoirs ne pourront pas être débloqués. Perso, je me suis fait avoir... Vous obtiendrez également des points pour augmenter la puissance des pièges et tours ainsi que la possibilité de débloquer certaines capacités lors des vagues avec "l'essence" récupéré sur les ennemis tués. Là aussi, on ne peut pas tout débloquer. A vue de nez, ça représente 1/3 des éléments disponibles...

Et là, on touche le gros du problème perso... Le jeu est ultra répétitif car c'est un tower defense... Grinder comme un cochon pour atteindre le niveau 100 du perso n'est pas une mince affaire. Pourquoi bloquer le nombre de points des tours et pièges. Ce qui fait l'intérêt d'un TD c'est le choix. Ici de base, le jeu impose les endroits et le type à utiliser (Piège mystique, tours...), ce qui est déjà une hérésie car ça bloque pas mal les tactiques mais si en plus toi de ton côté tu ne peux que débloquer qu'une petite partie des éléments... ça rend d'autant les tactiques possibles nulles et sans intérêts.

Alors oui, on peut réattribuer les points du perso et des éléments mais cela a un coût pas négligeable et rend le grind encore plus pénible et cela se fait en dehors de la carte dans le menu principal.

De même, il y a une petite dimension rpg car notre perso prend part aux combats et à lui seul il représente parfois 60% de la défense du (ou des) portail de sortie. Autant dire, que dormir n'est pas à l'ordre du jour... Pour cela, on peut l'équiper (Casque, arme, veste,...) mais le soucis majeur c'est que le jeu fonctionne par palier de niveau.. Une arme par exemple (fictif) est entre 100 et 200 entre un niveau 20 et 40. Ce qui ce veut dire que bien souvent tu ne changera pas d'arme pendant ces 20 niveaux et voire plus et parfois pire, j'ai utilisé des pièces d'équipements niveau 40 alors que j'étais niveau 80 car le jeu ne donne rien de vraiment intéressant. C'est l'effet Borderlands 3, on te donne une quantité de "truc" mais rien au final qui serve, c'est juste pour l'effet tape à l'oeil.
On peut crafter des trucs à partir des objets récupérés (Ou que l'on peut vendre c'est au choix) que l'on "détruit" pour créer des matériaux mais le craft ne sert à rien (il fonctionne à l'aide de blueprint à récupérer aléatoirement ou à acheter) car il fonctionne aussi par parlier.

Pour finir, la traduction française est baclée, on a un mélange de français/anglais régulièrement et des lignes de codes qui font référence à une base de données pour afficher un pourcentage ou autre mais dont le lien n'est pas fait... Ce qui n'aide pas pour optimiser ses atouts...

Deathtrap est un jeu plaisant les 3 premières heures mais passé le temps de la découverte, on s'aperçoit rapidement des limites et contraintes fixés. Le tout sans raison pour la partie solo. D'un côté on te dit c'est un jeu qui se joue sur la longueur et de l'autre on te bloque ta progression... Perso, je ne voit pas l'intérêt de faire ton jeu. Comme je ne vois pas pourquoi un des scénario en dehors de ma campagne (encore heureux) implique de jouer à 3 ou 4 joueurs alors qu'il est dans la partie "solo" et qu'il est impossible à faire seul... A part vouloir se faire défoncer en moins de 20 secondes ^^

Deathtrap même si j'ai adoré les premières heures est devenu rapidement saoulant et après c'est plus une galère à jouer. Beaucoup vante sa rejouabilité et le plaisir d'y jouer mais combien ont été jusqu'au bout du tiers 4 de la campagne solo... Très peu, très, très peu... Je l'ai fait et j'en ai bavé comme pas deux, la difficulté est énorme et tu en prend plein la gueule si tu as fait de mauvais choix, j'ai testé ^^
C'est un jeu bancal avec certes de bonnes idées mais de mauvaises implémentations dans le gameplay mais de là à dire que c'est un bon jeu non... J'adore me prendre la tête mais c'est moi. Ce n'est pas parce que que j'ai apprécié un jeu subjectivement qu'objectivement cela en fait un bon jeu. Les deux peuvent être antonyme de par le fait.

Perso, je ne le vous conseille pas si un gameplay bancal, un manque de charisme des personnages, une non histoire, un manque de possibilité sur le long terme, une difficulté relevé et une répétitivité pas engageante sur la durée (qui ne sont que quelques uns des éléments) ne vous attirent pas.

Mes premiers mots : quelle excellente surprise que ce DeathTrap !

J’ai d’abord vu mon personnage s’équiper, j’ai ensuite déchiffré les pièges et le panneau des évolutions. J’ai étudié de plus près mes compétences, et de saveur en saveur, j’ai vu la vraie dimension de cette aventure.

Avant d’aller plus loin, lecteurs de ces mots, vous vous demandez sûrement si ce produit pourrait vous plaire. Si vous aimez les Hack’n’Slash et/ou les Tower Defense, je n’ai aucun doute sur le fait que vous aimerez DeathTrap. Plus globalement, à moins d’une allergie profonde aux jeux d’action joués à la souris, je dirais qu’il n’y a aucune raison de ne pas apprécier cette petite pépite.

Du point de vue d’un Tower Defense, DeathTrap a une approche originale que je n’avais jamais vue dans un titre du genre. Ici, nous ne nous cachons pas derrière des murailles de tours ; nous devons surtout trouver le meilleur moyen de réduire les hordes. Il n’y a pas une seule manière d'y arriver et même en rejouant une map, vous apporterez des variantes, vous rencontrerez des situations différentes, sans jamais avoir l’impression de refaire exactement la même chose.

Du point de vue du Hack’n’Slash, le jeu n’a pas la vocation d’être un Diablo ou un Path of Exile, mais la touche action-RPG est bien ancrée. Faire évoluer son personnage à travers plusieurs capacités distinctes est aussi excitant que dans ces jeux, mais ici tout est plus posé. Personnellement, j’y ressens un certain feeling à la Diablo 1 (je me comprends). Les combats sont « secs » mais efficaces.

Concernant l’évolution du personnage, il n’y a pas réellement d’arbre de compétences, mais plutôt des panels de possibilités, débloqués progressivement par paliers. Cela peut sembler simplifié par rapport à un HnS pur et dur, mais je dirais que l’essentiel est là pour nous donner l’envie d'être meilleur.

Nous devons gérer de nombreuses résistances, et cet aspect est très bien équilibré grâce aux objets trouvés. Il y a peu d’emplacements d’équipement, mais cela n’est en rien frustrant. Nous disposons également de trois slots pour des runes capables de booster nos pièges.
On retrouve les grands classiques d’un personnage ARPG : santé, armure, dégâts, mana, coups critiques, dégâts élémentaires, vitesse de déplacement, chances de loot rare, sans oublier l’or pour divers achats.

L'interface propose une boutique dans laquelle on peut acheter des items (rarement, mais ça arrive), avec une petite originalité : des offres spéciales à durée limitée. On y achète également des potions, indispensables à notre survie.
Il est aussi possible de vendre, mais surtout de recycler nos trouvailles, ce qui se traduit par des pierres précieuses servant au crafting. Nous concevons alors de meilleurs équipements. Cet aspect est simple mais plaisant.

Avant de parler plus précisément du gameplay, un mot sur l’ambiance générale.
Musicalement, il n’y a qu’un thème pour l’interface et un pour les parties : c’est peu, mais étonnamment engageant. Ils sont enivrants et s’accordent parfaitement au jeu sans jamais lasser.

Graphiquement, DeathTrap nous plonge dans un univers ancien, oublié et secret. Un cœur d’encre, inexpliqué, menace ces territoires lointains. Salles mystérieuses, extérieurs brumeux, forêts ancestrales, dédales mystiques… Les décors, avec un côté "old school" sont plaisants, les animations sont bien réalisées et l’immersion est réelle.

Plongeons maintenant dans le cœur du jeu. De partie en partie, on découvre le charme et la diversité des maps proposées. On joue à un Tower Defense sans toujours s’en rendre compte, tout en participant activement à un Hack’n’Slash.

Les cartes proposent de nombreux patterns pour les emplacements des pièges : trappes de sol, tours mécaniques, piliers mystiques. Chaque système offre plusieurs variantes. Avant le début d'une vague, nous dépensons nos « essences » pour agencer ingénieusement nos défenses. Les ressources sont limitées mais toujours en adéquation avec le défi à relever. Une fois prêts, la bataille peut commencer.

Des créatures surgissent des portes de l’Encre, et nous devons défendre notre cœur à tout prix. Seul face aux hordes démoniaques, notre personnage combat au corps à corps ou à distance selon sa classe, en s’appuyant sur les dégâts des pièges.

Parmi les trappes, l’une de mes préférées invoque des loups-garous : de véritables compagnons fixes qui combattent au contact des ennemis. Les voir lutter à nos côtés est particulièrement satisfaisant.

Le rythme est bien dosé, avec la possibilité de ralentir ou d’accélérer le jeu. En mode x2, la vitesse est grisante mais difficile à maîtriser.

Le bestiaire horrifique est riche, varié et très bien réalisé. Chaque créature a son comportement propre : attaques au corps à corps ou à distance, magie, poison, vitesse variable… Certaines sont fragiles, d’autres de véritables tanks. Bien que les ennemis suivent un chemin prédéfini, ils peuvent s’arrêter pour attaquer, voire sortir de leur trajectoire pour nous harceler. L’équilibre entre Tower Defense classique et action pure est remarquable.

En pleine bataille, les affrontements deviennent intenses : gestion des compétences, esquives, retraites tactiques quand les dégâts s’accumulent. Une potion, et l’on repart à l’assaut. Selon les scénarios, les attaques arrivent sur plusieurs fronts, on garde toujours un oeil sur la mini-map et un ingénieux système de téléporteurs permet de défendre rapidement différents points stratégiques.
Nous pouvons mourir lors des combats, et si nous repartons aussitôt, cela nous coûte un point de franchissement.

Chaque ennemi vaincu rapporte de l’essence, permettant d’améliorer ou d’ajouter des pièges, parfois même en pleine bataille. Toutefois, on attendra souvent la fin d’une vague pour ajuster sa stratégie.

Les récompenses, à la fin d’une partie, prennent la forme de coffres contenant potions, recettes, runes, or et équipements plus ou moins rares.
Le graal (à partir du niveau 55) est de mettre la main sur des « god items ». Ces objets ont la particularité de pouvoir être améliorés, ajoutant une ligne de capacité à chaque tentative, jusqu’à 10 fois !

La campagne comporte 13 maps. Chaque victoire rapporte d’une à trois étoiles. À partir du niveau difficile, obtenir les trois étoiles devient un vrai défi, puisqu’aucune créature ne doit atteindre le portail. Le jeu est exigeant, mais toujours juste. L'objectif ultime est de conquérir les quatre niveaux de difficulté avec trois étoiles pour chaque épreuve. Et d'une difficulté à une autre, les cartes proposent différents agencements. Une tache d'ampleur, pour notre plus grand plaisir.

Au final, une durée de vie conséquente : des dizaines d'heures de batailles ! Cependant, chaque partie dure entre 15 et 30 minutes, offrant des sessions satisfaisantes, sans être interminables.

DeathTrap propose aussi des challenges annexes, avec des réglages spécifiques pour gagner plus d’XP, d’or ou de loot rare, ainsi qu’un mode sans fin.
Enfin, il est possible de jouer en coopératif ou en mode versus, même si je n’ai pas encore testé ces options.

Nous pouvons jouer trois classes : Sorcière, Tireur et Mercenaire, de quoi renouveler plusieurs fois l’expérience.

Pour aller encore plus loin, des cartes créées par la communauté sont disponibles, et les plus inventifs pourront concevoir leurs propres puzzles.

En conclusion, DeathTrap n’est pas un triple A au budget colossal, ni un monde ouvert gigantesque aux graphismes photoréalistes. Mais il n’en a pas besoin. C’est un jeu efficace, ludique et profond. NeocoreGames a accompli un excellent travail, et j’ai le sentiment que ce titre n’a peut-être pas reçu toute la reconnaissance qu’il mérite.

Si vous aimez les Hack’n’Slash et les Tower Defense, les défis bien dosés, sans prise de tête mais sans être simpliste, DeathTrap est un excellent choix, largement à la hauteur de l’investissement qu’il demande.

CANNOT get 100% Achievements ! Be aware of that if you like to 100% stuff.

Some achievements are bugged, they are not hard, simply bugged, and plenty are known, there are posts about it. In the endgame content this is especially annoying.

While the beginning is very fun, the endgame has not properly been tested or balanced.

Stuff does not behave like it probably ought to. The Essence increasing skill for Marksman for once does not properly work 100% of the time, also it does not behave well together with essence trap, which is a total letdown. I am pretty sure that some passives also do not behave like described. They might work on their own, but do not stack or interact like described/expected.

One very small example for a very visible bug is the Tier4 Objective "kill x mobs with your own hands". The game has 100+ hours of play as Marksman and this triggers everytime the summons(!) kill an enemy. Now this "might" be because I have quite a few skills upgrades and equips with loads of passives, but still, it should NOT trigger. (summons = suiciders)

Why do I complain about something that makes it easier for the player to get the objective(reward)? I can only guess that this is related to the achievement "Do not damage enemies on T4 with Marksman" and might even be the reason why one cannot achieve it easily (For me after multiple tries I cannot get that achievement even though I do not even shoot, hence do no damage)

Conclusion:
Game can be fun, if you like grinding, but some aspect are just not well balanced.

Deathtrap is a tower defense strategy game that tries hard to mix traps, units, and tactical planning. For someone who isn’t naturally into tower defense (like me), it’s a solid effort but quickly becomes repetitive, the novelty of building clever kill zones fades, and chasing achievements feels more like grinding than strategy. It’s competent, the mechanics work, and if tower defense is your thing, you’ll probably enjoy it. For me, it was an interesting detour into a subgenre I don’t usually play, but not enough to keep me hooked for long. Still, I’ll give it a thumbs up, 6/10, decent game, if you are a tower defense player, you might enjoy it more than me; still, a good purchase on sale.

Cool tower defense game. But it is tough especially when you get to higher tier where the spike is actually quite noticeable

flaws:
-Respecc has cost (should be fully free for more optimization and build freedom)
-No restart wave, if you did a mistake, you have to restart everything
-Banner and Icon of this game looks awful. Dev might not think it matters much, but first impression is a thing

В принципе, нормальная игра. Далеко не шедевр, но и барахлом назвать как то не получится. Среднячок.

О хорошем:
+ Есть типа-сюжет. Ну какбы не совсем, но ТИПА. В виде однообразной писаснины и пары роликов.
+ Есть персонажи.
+ РПГ составляющая: предметы, крафты, обвесы, прокачки. Не знаю зачем она здесь в таком виде....но наляпать статок ума много не надо..пусть будет. Разрабы решили растянуть время прохождения.
+ Присутствие персонажа на поле брани - хорошая деталь, нравится. Беготня и движуха не дают заскучать.
+ Дябло-подобная панелька. Эргономично, хотя в Дяблу я не играл.
+ Визуал. Не фонтан, но...в меру серьёзный.
+ Лакончиность происходящего: какиш-мякиш на экране случается редко
+ Гамма цветов тоже спокойная.
+ Древа развития - ну...неплохо.
+ Сайдквесты - создают движуху, заставляют покумекать.
+ ВНЕЗАПНЫЕ трудности: резкий прорыв, налом, имунный к чему то крип, новый тип брони или поведения крипа, крипы которые забрасывают тебя всяким барахлом и многое другое. Всё вместе - геймплей. Для ТДшки - в меру бодрый.
+ Тактика и синергия. Классический пример: кислотка + пулемётик. Кислотка даёт буст урона пулемётика, а пулемётик замедляет по области, скучивая врагов в кислотке под дебафами.
+ Игра с физикой - бочки скачут, улетают в пропасти...даже если крипов выкинуть с обрыва - это ваншот.
+ Башни с крипами - здравствуй Кингдум Руш. Прикольчик-милота.
+ Синергия башен. Есть над чем поразмыслить.
+ Боссы и мега-крипы. Ну...стараются быть Опасными.
+ Изобилие всяческих квестов и миссий формата NG+. Карты будут более сложные, но и более насыщенные на точки расположения башен. Есть чем заняться для реиграбельности.

О плохом:
- Сюжет простенький и написан пресно. Всё такое Загадочное, Неизвестное, Тёмное, Мрачное, Утерянное и тд. Одни и те же абстрактные эпитеты.
- Крипы немного туговаты на голову и даже летунов можно наземным пехотинцем спушить через бодиблок.
- Общий "слой" поверхностей. Стрелы летят в плоскости векторно. Но урон от них идёт на любой высоте....ну...несильно глаз мозолит, но придирка есть.
- Не очень умное древо развития. Что выбрать? +30% к урону или -1 голды на постройку башни, с учётом того что башня стоит 100? 30% или 1%? Хмммм....ну прямо ДИЛЕММА! ([spoiler] для Докичя: сарказм. [/spoiler]) Часть апгрейдов раскроет себя в экономике NG+, но...не то чтобы сильно.
- Не очень балансные башни. Те же фениксы на голову выше колдунских башенок по КПД, а против бронников есть и более рентабельные башни. По мере прокачки ситуация, опять же, подправится, но исходная ситуация портит впечатление, а эффективный ДПС получится выжать не везде.
- Танковать на шиповке - Имба и багоюз ресурсов.
- Ресурсо-фармовые билды в целом. Ненужное дpoчево, как по мне.
- Один и тот же саундтрек. Ребята... Давным-давно изобретён ТД-шедевр Sol Survivor с божественным саундтреком. Ну почему нельзя сделать так же 10-15 треков под тематику окружения и стадии сражения?
- Много статок. Они банальны, но разбираться в механике - зaёб, если честно.
- Не лучший интерфейс в плане расположения кнопок, подсказок и журнала. Местами перегружен, а местами пол дня ищешь кнопку "закрыть".
- Странная геометрия уровней и фундаментов под башни. Часть платформ как будто не пришей козе баян, часть - никуда не дотягивается.
- Не самое удобное применение скилов...но если поменять управление ближе к дотерскому...то терпимо.
- Нет превью того, что делает башня: не всегда даже по факту игры очевидно что и как.
- Очередная eбyчая игра на "знание" кто с какого направления когда пойдёт. Заучивание этих ручейков не является увлекательной задачей - мусорная информация в голове.
- Изменений визуала башни при прокачке не заметил. Интрига "какая ж она будет во всей красе?" - отсутствует.
- [b]Бесцельность.[/b] Данная игра не содержит сюжета или каких-то Изысканных механик, потому...для молодёжи - неплохая математическая разминка, тренинг для вычислений в уме. Но каких то моралей-выводов-результатов от всего этого не будет.

В целом: среднячковая игра. На фулл прайс не тянет. А по уценке можно и взять. Чисто тема голову переключить, немножко мозг в тактике подкачать - не более того.

По качеству Deathtrap не дотягивает ни до Sol Survivor с божественным саундтреком, в котором тоже есть кооп, ни до DefenceGrid, в котором есть культовый рассказчик генерал Флетчер.

Игра играется нормально, выглядит убедительно, но, к сожалению, не цепляет. Слишком пресная.

Pretty fun experience to be honest, he is good at working out what things mean and how they work, its not that obvious to me, including 4k bug with teleporters. Esse game me lembra alguns mapas modeds de [b]WarCraft 3[/b], sinceramente não lembro o nome deles, mas a nostalgia é verdadeira.

Você tem um Tower Defence em essencia, mas com todos os elementos de um bom Hack Slash RPG, com direito a criar um personagem com árvore de talentos, upgrades e equipamentos, podendo escolher como vai enfrentar os desafios dos vários mapas disponíveis, usando suas torres, magias ou combate físico.

A dificuldade é razoável e a diversão é garantida, diria que satisfatória, uma vez que tantos jogos de Tower Defence falham em ser algo "original" este pelo menos aprimora as ideias que vieram do saudoso jogo da [i]Blizzard[/i], bons tempos daquela porcaria decadente.

O jogo é leve e vai rodar na maioria das batatas, claro que um PC razoável vai tirar mais proveito, mas não espere gráficos excepcionais, eles cumprem o papel e isso esta ok.

Aproveite em uma promoção, algumas boas horas de diversão te aguardam.

Pros: borderless windowed mode, soundtrack fits the theme, advanced graphical settings available, decent voice acting, map editor available, tutorial prompts available, on the top right corner you can 2x or ½ the game speed, co-op & versus mode, decent tower defense mechanics

Cons: you have to exit and re-launch the game for custom settings to take effect, “no limit” on the fps is optional but im only getting 30fps tops (poorly optimized), the user interface is clunky, you can’t move around the overworld map, progression feels unorganized & linear at the same time, there is only one ring slot, you can’t zoom in or out (except the mini map), you can only swap runes in the store screen (not during a level), when a rock golem dies it glitches the entire screen for a second, you can only place certain traps in pre-determined spots, it cost gold to respect stat points

Overall, a decent tower defense + hero rpg game. I played approximately 5 hours at the writing of this review, & I have no interest in completing the game.
Deathtrap is a hit or miss.

Даже 10лет с момента релиза вполне играбельно,есть кооп до 4человек,только существование фиол шмоток вызывает вопрос,на*рена они нужны,если улучшая их ты тратишь кучу ресурсов,но при этом сами улучшения выглядят так..+256хп,второе +270хп..Мммм,как полезно то..
Из шести улучшений ни одно не повышает урон персонажа или реген маны.
Ну и часто забивается инвентарь всяким мусором и приходится продавать или разбирать на камни для крафта.

Игра не новая и вряд ли кого-то чем-то удивит. Но сделана неплохо.

Ранее мне не встречалась, купила ее недавно и я как истинный ценитель и любитель tower defence искренне кайфанула в этой игре.

[b] Про гейплей:

- Большой выбор башен и ловушек. [/b]
Каждую можно еще дополнительно прокачивать и усиливать предметами. Плюс на почти всех картах есть эксклюзивные башни, помогающие проходить именно данный режим.

[b] - 3 персонажа с индивидуальными навыками. [/b]
Куча шмоток и статов на каждого героя. В коопе с башнями есть где разгуляться и подобрать варианты прохождения.

[b] - Реиграбельность хорошая. [/b]
Карт по сути немного, но режимов на каждую карту достаточно. С каждым прохождением кампании открываются новые условия на каждую карту. Плюс есть тонна карт, созданных сообществом. Можно залипнуть надолго при желании.

[b] - Присутствует бесконечный режим. [/b]
Так же со своими условиями.

[b] - Есть кооп. [/b]
Проходить в коопе проще, но игра подойдет и для соло прохождения.

[b] - Игра в меру сложная. [/b]
Иногда приходится подумать как пройти дальше. Где-то подкачаться или переставить навыки героя или даже сменить самого героя (если Вы играете с другом).

[b] - Апокалиптическая атмосфера. [/b]
Сюжета в игре нет, но он Вам не понадобится. Хорошая аудиоподача и визуализация. Мобы напомнили мне вселенную лафкрафта. Интересно прорисованы и технически продуманы. Все отлично работает. Завлекает в процесс игры.

[b] Из минусов:

- присутствуют баги [/b] из серии залипания мобов на карте. Особо играть не мешает, но случается всякое.

[b] - кооп работает нестабильно. [/b]
Невсегда понятно почему к кому-то присоединиться можно, а к кому-то нет. Рандомных игр почти нет. Так что для кооперативного прохождения потребуется участие Вашего друга. Иногда происходят вылеты из кооперативного режима.

[b] - есть забагованные достижения [/b] , которые без танцев с бубном не получить.

Игра неплохая. Если любите tower defence с личным участием персонажа на карте и уже во все переиграли, то попробовать можно и эту игру.

В целом моя оценка «рекомендую». Я купила и с удовольствием играю.

强力推荐！非常超值的一款塔防游戏。
有点像兽人必须死，但是它的游戏视角比较方便操作不容易晕。。
游戏一共3个职业其实都差不多，但是法师DPS比较高我觉得很好上手
推荐升满闪电箭和回蓝基本就很轻松了
这游戏不管是单机一个人还是和基友联机都很爽内容还算丰富挺耐玩的
最后给新手一点建议箭塔冰塔喷火塔效果比较好可以优先升级

Deathtrap’e “biraz kule dikerim, çayımı yudumlarım” diyerek girdim, 5. dalgada can havliyle haritanın içinde koştururken buldum kendimi. Oyun hem kule savunma hem de hack’n slash, ama ikisini de “hadi yapalım” değil, “hadi iyi yapalım” diye yapmış.

Initially I thought the game was going to repetitive due to the multiple playthroughs of a limited set of levels, but every run has new unique traps and ways of dealing with whatever is coming.

I'd highly recommend if you like tower defense-ish games and RPGs.

---- Some minor remarks:

I do feel the game is a bit grindy at times and would benefit from a faster XP system. That way you can try other/new characters instead of having to 'waste' hours upon hours on a single one. It comes at the expense of some total play time, but I'd prefer it over a longer experience that can feel a bit slow.

Also: documentation is every limited and I hope a potential new installment would be a bit more transparent in the way damage, armour pen. etc. works.

This game blends RTS, with your character running around the levels to set up your traps in this unique tower defense. The main map to navigate levels [13] has access to the Shop for selling and buying items, your Skills level up page, and your Trap level up page. You get a stash with you at all times too, and a gigantic inventory. You complete levels one at a time, roaming around, setting up your towers/traps/defenses. Many, if not most levels have special towers built-in. It will take you approximately 3 levels to get comfortable, using 1, 2, 3, 4, as your abilities. Your mana is called Focus that you generate to cast your chosen abilities.

There are 3 classes to start the game on: Mercenary, Sorceress, Marksman.

How it plays; you choose your level, and difficulty in the main map. Once super-fast load into levels. You get inkpads that you middle mouse click to activate, and left click on the HUD-map that appears to get around the level in an Instant-transmission speed. Literally. You say go there, you're there. No animations teleporting slowly. You set up your traps, with the Essence that you start with, as well as gain during levels from killing the monsters. It feels like Van Helsing. You're running around the map watching the mini-map where the next waves are coming in, preparing for the next waves, upgrading your existing towers. There are usually 5 waves in the levels when you play the game the first time, then you play it a few more times, i believe, to unlock endless. If you don't play beyond normal difficulty, you cannot 3-star any levels. The game involves a fair bit of reading to understand the basics, but once you've got that, OR if you understand tower defense, and RPG's character-inventory management , it will work easily in your favour to play at double speed [when you feel like rushing past a level]

If you finish the campaign once, in normal mode [70% capped HP and 70% damage vs Hard on 100% to start the game. You assist all your towers with your chosen weapons, upgrades, equipment.

You get loot at the end of each level. There are items that boost the loot rarity and quantity, and gold amounts, there are loots that give you massive resistances to frost, poison, fire, Your equipment is generally all for armour, but there are many ways to skin the cat. The character's equipment slots total 5 + 1 Weapon. [spoiler] A hat, amulet, armour/suit, one ring, and a belt, which usually is your HP Booster. oh and your weapon ! [/spoiler]

The game is barely taxing on the system, which is kudos for running in the background/pausing to idle/ go do something, - play for tonnes of long hours and never even see a spike in your system, as this is just 5w/h more than idle of win11; :) super, for all that it offers.

It's deep, it's fast, and intuitive if you are a regular tower defense player, and most importantly, it's fun building up your character, and eventually changing to hard to get better loot is of course what makes it fun. The survival is actually perfect, no matter what build you want to play, as long as you update your equipment, spells, skills, and traps, after each level, you'll never fail a level, if you watch the mini-map and support all your lanes. Because you're always running around to maintain your lanes, / teleporting / you cannot fall asleep. You're active more than you generally are for a tower defense, but your efficiency can be rewarded too, as in, long term, your upgrades make survival far easier than the beginning. The game also doesn't slaughter you in the introduction to it all.
Learning all the levels and caveats with what special towers vs. your standard builds is something that adapting a new style in the re-play helps. It gives new challenges as side-quests to complete when you play the levels the next time, such as don't use summons, don't use a mystic tower.

The towers, are plenty [25] and they all synergize well, Each one has 3 different types of upgrades, and each upgrade has 3 levels of that said upgrade. So, for example, one is 30% damage increase, one is 15% slow when shooting the enemies, and one applies 50% area of effect damage, if shooting more than 2m away, - you can upgrade each of these 3x to get great towers, which just need you to be there, when the waves are coming in, and help save the day.
The tower/trap types are split across traps in the floor, traps that summon creatures/archers/beasts, mystic traps that use the elements, like a fireball launcher, a death ray laser, an ice-beam frost attack classed under 'mystic' weapons. You then get Mechanical weapons like a gun sentry, a razer blade launcher, or the flame thrower. The floor traps include acid geysers, javelin/spear pits, lava grills,
All of the traps in the levels are activated on specific interfaces for the said traps. You can't place all traps where you would like.

The enemy types, are beastly, and ranging in the types of damage, such as frost, poison, and fire. When you're shooting, angles can look a bit crooked, as in you're aiming into the distance, or shooting through your towers. You cannot, and the enemy cannot destroy your towers in this game.

You get many different abilities, and I'm only looking at the marksman screen/partially. There are global abilities, of many kinds to upgrade with skill points each level. [Max 10 per skill item - and the tree is extensive and broken up into starters, level 10, level 20. By the first time you finish the game, you should be near/ or at level 20 at the end/after the last level] You can unlock global skills for your classes like: Increase loot quantity/quality , make every attack on enemies have poison vulnerability /starting at 1%, reduce trap cooldowns, increase trap stuns/effects on enemies, it's vast, and unlocked gradually, in the first 5-10 hours, you can be level 20;

If you love tower defense, and have been itching to try something new in regard to this genre, pick this beauty up!! It's a brilliant find, and very unique.

If you get killed during a level, your death impacts enemies passing past you to exit the gate, and affect it's volatility; hence your score /stars out of 3 when you complete a level. [spoiler] Your deaths counts as damage to the gate/portal you're protecting [/spoiler]

The main gripes I think we all may have with this game, is the camera is not rotatable. It may sometimes upset you, or require you to move to specific locations just to see something you want to. This isometric approach is one of the most annoying drawbacks of this amazing game.
Another was, when first launching this game, because i have a controller plugged in, the game defaulted to controller, and i had to use the controller to turn it off in the game's settings. Then the game also needed a restart for this change. So, controllers are definitely supported 100% if you want to sit back and play a TDF in ultra-comfort mode; :)

Never got super into Van helsing games so never got to the TD part, this takes that mechanic and bases a full game of it.

Do NOT buy anything from NeoCore games. They've shown to be a shady dev that will revoke legitimately purchased keys out of spite and then lying about why they did so. They claim it's for "privacy issues" yet didn't bother to revoke keys until a couple of years after. So the dev is a thief and a liar. Hopefully they're out of the industry soon enough.

This Developer/Publisher is Revoking Keys just because they "think" there was "might" be a security breach,

in the end, he gave Keys out on the Left Hand and Right Hand

and over 2 Years Later, they revoked these keys.

Gameplay and artstyle identical to the Van Helsing series. If you enjoyed the tower defence parts of the series you will enjoy this game.

But for me it does nothing new. And you have to complete the same levels again and again.

The story is still subpar though.

Intresting enough. Sure don't get a lot of drops, money or XP but enough to upgrade something every level. You never feel stronger. passive skills don't open fast enough. It should start with you choosing which damage you want to start and build. Poison Lightning Fire Ice. Then you haven't leveled the wrong one to start as you don't find out what the others even are until the end of an entire run. Or give the first reset free after they are unlocked. Traps are a similar issue. Just very slow. The game works and plays well without crashing. Funny that whenever the chick speaks to you she sounds like a woman in a movie about to ♥♥♥. I'll check in after hard mode.

Edit: Please ignore the large paragraph below except the last three sentences. I figured out my performance issue. Apparently my Nvidia Control Panel had informed me that it had been using my AMD Integrated GPU so I had to switch it to my Nvidia RTX 4050 Dedicated GPU. And wow, the performance gain had been 173% higher!

Expect very low framerates compared to your other more demanding games. Neocore cares more about its console variants and it still remains the case for this game. The only way to fix this framerate issue is to uncheck high textures (which for some reason gives you a much needed 15% to 35% frame boost when disabled but makes the game look really ugly once you disable high textures) but once you do that, it introduces a graphical software-based artifacting issue (once you check the box again the artifacting goes away). Piece of advice: just play on controller, as the 50 FPS isn't as annoying on controller for whatever reason unbeknownst to me. It's a fun game but due to the way Neocore treats its PC users by abandoning their games' continual optimizations and never releasing remasters I'm going have to tell you that I do not recommend this title. Also Neocore, we get it you guys put a lot of time and money into Warhammer 40K Inquisitor but come on! Remember your roots! We (want) require remasters of the Van Helsing-related games (including this one)! I don't just want graphical updates but I want optimization fixes.

I just played the campaign solo on normal, there is more to do and the game also encourages replaying, but replaying isn't something I do unless I like something a lot. If you like tower defense, you may enjoy this game. I know others have said this game reminded them of Diablo, I can see that.

Good:
1. 25 total towers with 5 different categories.
2. 3 Characters with somewhat unique playstyes.
3. Adjustable difficulty settings.
4. Quests and challenges make replaying each level more interesting.

Bad:
1. Game crashed few times on one level.
2. Limited gear progression for your character.
3. Overall balancing is good, but some towers have unique and meaningful upgrades and some have very weak and almost useless.

Overall I would give this game a 7 or 8. Solid tower defense.

"Смертельный трап" - один из наиболее недооценённых представителей жанра "Башенная защита".

Из плюсов - геймлпей, механники, сама динамика игры.
Минусы - очень блеклая цветовая гамма.

Если собираетесь играть в соло - берите наёмника, в коопе - обязательно наёмника + кого угодно ещё.
Наёмник - наиболее сильный класс на протяжении всей игры, который хоть и не наносит сам урона, но при этом становится полностью бессмертным при правильном билде...а урон наносят турельки-пулемёты (берите, если не знаете что качать)
