I wish I could attach a screenshot here. Demo was working fine, but the main game has issue with resolution. I am not able to play it in 1920x1080 resolution, no matter what. I edit the package.json and put my resolution with fullscreen enabled. Earlier it was launching in some weird resolution where on top-left corner with some part of the screen visible (bottom-left). Editing the file fixed the issue but I am not able to make it fullscreen. Refunding.

Certainly a game of all times. Pixel-art and art direction are just top notch, music is immersive and gameplay is... Actually pretty fun mixing twin-stick shooter and hack and slash with a party system :D God! I wish other RPG's took risks like this and were more experimental, not always ends up well, sometimes leads to feature creep but in this case it is a sight to behold, très bien out of 10!

Yes. I still have to finish it but the 8 hours I have been playing have been the most ENTERTAINING AND FRUSTRATING. The combat system is so good but I just suck at action games like this one.

An actual modern classic.

This game easily stands alongside the greats like the 2D Zelda games, Alundra, Anoydyne and Hyper Light Drifter as a beautiful, deep, very polished, fun and well-written game. Be aware also: this is a BIG game though unlike most other indie games in this style.

I don't want to say too much here in case anything is spoiled, but if you love a 2D action RPG, then Crosscode is for you. I can't recommend it enough.

예전에 사놓고 플레이해보지 못한 채
오랫동안 묵혀뒀다가 이번에 해봤는데
생각보다 정말 재밌게 했습니다

스토리도 괜찮고 그래픽도 괜찮고
사운드도 좋아서 전체적으로 만족했습니다
다만 키마로 플레이한 입장에선
좀 거지 같은 조작 방식으로 아쉽긴 했지만
적응해 나아가니
엔딩 못 볼 정도는 아니라서 괜찮았습니다

플레이 방식은 퍼즐에 전투에 기믹을 더한 방식인데
적절히 조합되어 있어서 재밌었어요
물론 너무 많이 나와서 그런지 좀 지루해질 만했는데
딱 그 쯤에 엔딩이라 적절한 타이밍에 끝냈네요

거기에 사운드까지 좋았어요
전체적으로 브금 다 괜찮은 편인데
특히 타이틀 사운드가
분위기 있게 다가와서 좋았습니다

결론은
이 정도 가격에
이 정도 플레이타임에
재미까지 챙긴 게임이면
충분히 추천하고 싶은 게임이네요

It sure has a stunning art direction but putting a slog of a dungeon about shooting things at awkward angles to have them slide on ice platforms dozens upon dozens of times before the story gives you much reason to care about the whole thing is a gambit that really didn't pay off for me.

This game can be a hit or a miss for some people, but it instantly hooked me, and dare I say has already crept it's way into at least my top 10. It has a fantastic story, with great gameplay to boot. Characters are charming, combat is fun and the soundtrack is catchy. The puzzles can be very difficult at times, but I never found myself getting fully stumped or angry at any (save for maybe 1 in the DLC), and the harder they got the more satisfying they were to complete. The setting for the game is also interesting, with it being in and poking fun at MMOs, and it contains a lot of fun references to other games/media.

If I had maybe one gripe about the game, it would be the platforming can get a tad annoying at times, but it never got to the point of frustration for me. All in all, it's a fantastic game and despite the fact that I received it as a gift from a friend, I would 100% have bought the game 5x over. DLC is great too, adds a decent chunk of content and is a nice cap off to the base game.

Insanely fluent and satisfying combat, i LOVE the characters and how quickly things develop, the exploration is so well done. I constantly found myself solving the world's micro-puzzles on how to reach this or that place, and this was all in the first major wild area of the game!! I'm so excited to see what comes next and I would heavily recommend this game if it even looks mildly interesting to you. If not? well there's a demo that lets you play through the entire first chapter, so give it a shot. please, for me.

This is my favorite game of all time. I wanted to wait to post a review until I completed the New Home DLC, and now I have. In a sentence, no game has made me feel the things I felt during Crosscode.

In many more sentences:

The music is stellar. I find myself listening to the Autumn's Rise OST whenever I need a mood boost. Some of the themes in this game are enough to bring me to tears just from the composition, let alone the story that it brings to mind.

The gameplay is unmatched. The bmup/shmup combo is really fun once you get the hang of using your elements and arts. The puzzle mechanics really bend your brain, but they feel so satisfying to figure out. Bosses are incredibly fun and have some really unique counterplay.

The art is fantastic. There are so many endearing sprite portraits of the main characters, and the animation for characters and enemies alike is beyond incredible. I'm constantly amazed by how much animation was put into this game.

The story... the story is the real reason I love this game so much. The characters are so deep and have so much to explore. I fell in love with every single character in this game, and I felt everything they felt. Every pain, every joy, I've never bonded so much with fictional characters before. And seeing them succeed and find happiness brought me so much joy, I can't really describe it to anyone who hasn't played the game. But I urge you to give it a try, I hope it reaches you the same way it reached me.

Thank you so much, Radfish. You've truly made a masterpiece. And this will remain my favorite game... until Alabaster Dawn releases! Much love, and I can't wait to see what you guys do next.

The characters, the music, the story, the environments, everything is masterfully crafted and there is such attention to detail it is honestly refreshing. This game doesn't hold your hands, it teaches you how to play, yes, but expects you to overcome the challegens it provides. CrossCode is the definition of underrated, I just can't understand how it is still considered a niche game. Maybe I'm biased because I love games like this but I'd say this is the greatest indie game ever made. If you like Zelda-type games and puzzles give this one a try, you won't regret it.

crosscode is the best zelda game i've ever played. it deserves infinitely many more flowers than it gets. impeccably designed with tight systems, an entrancing plot and worldbuilding, fascinating characters, responsive combat, and crucially, it lets you actually set your difficulty at a granular level, which is something every modern game should be doing. if a small indie project could figure this out in 2018, nobody else has an excuse, and no artistic vision i've ever seen in a game that requires it to have only one difficulty.

游玩体验总体来说有点后悔，但是有点后悔不太可能。这款游戏实在是很特别，玩的过程中遇到了许多想一吐为快的优缺点，但是在两个多月的游玩跨度里，那些打好的腹稿早就被一次次的黄焖鸡小份土豆微辣谢谢给驱逐出去了，现在勉强能记得的只有一些中心句而已。

例如臭名昭著的伪2.5D视角，这一马平川的透视和光照能给予的高低差信息也就比清明上河图强那么一点点。即使到了大后期，起跳之后咚一下创到墙上也是常有的事，往往盯着墙体轮廓品鉴半天再射几颗飞弹才能摸得着头脑。在这种前提下，地图里的路径解谜却多到令人发指。几个明晃晃的箱子嘲讽似地摆在高地上面，想要拿到却不得不以此为线头细细地往回捋大半个房间（有时甚至跨越好几个房间），找到那一个起始的台阶，然后沿着祖玛一样的扭曲路径左弯右绕上窜下跳，最后往往咚一下创到看起来水平对齐实则高出十米的墙上，回头再来一遍。如此反复多次就会导致全身血液在头部积聚，用致死量来形容这种跳跳乐的充塞量一点都不过分。

除此之外，被三段冲刺的机动性骗入坑的我实在是太天真了。绝大多数敌人的绝大多数攻击（量化的话，或许有90%以上）都是带微追踪的自机狙。微追踪自机狙，你知道这六个字有多恐怖吗？这意味着跑步的速度太慢躲不开，冲刺早了会被抓提前量锁头，冲刺晚了会被打出没有无敌时间的僵直，如果有后续攻击的话就得双手离开键盘眼巴巴等着全部吃完。不管是弹幕、激光、体术还是弹跳巨石，全都是这一套换汤不换药的微追踪自机狙。更别提除了boss以外的遭遇战和野怪几乎都是群殴，我的三段冲刺好像摆设一样，胡乱连冲的唯一作用就是让自己看不清死因。有一次找不着任务道具去看老仙的攻略，发现他似乎是把强化防御叠到了100%，防御状态可以吸收投射物的全部伤害，看见弹幕过来就摁死举盾键放弃一切交互。我说这是好的而且是对的，伟大的流派，伟大的发明。

接下来聊聊不太后悔的部分。神庙里的解谜都很好，隐隐有吹哥的那种古典气息。几个简单的元素、几种简洁的机制往那一摆，就能组成一个精巧镂空的九连环，而且这些元素和机制的互动都很符合直觉，与之相反的大概就是锈湖那种侦探式发散联想。波和电神庙尤其不错，不过后面那个综合神庙就显得有点江郎才尽；元素和机制没变，却没有新的连环了，只剩下一根筋开路式的、顺着捋到头的对号入座，再揉一点抢时间动作要素，显得不那么单调。最后的朱红之塔又引入了一个巧妙的新机制，但浅尝辄止之后也没有下文了。

最后是我最喜欢的、能让我坚持着玩下去的部分：世界观。人物、剧情和文笔都实在没什么好分析的，世界观和氛围却相当有意思。伪装成MMO的单机游戏，“恐怕找不着竞品”的队伍又添一员。游戏里经常会有路人在讨论很meta的东西，比如刚那个boss可以这么打，这个任务设计得真不合理，某某地方有个隐藏房间，诸如此类。所有角色都毫不避讳“自己在玩游戏”这一事实，这其实形成了相当强的代入感。不是让玩家进入游戏，而是游戏出来迎接玩家，双方双向奔赴地各自踏出一步，于是两面第四面墙合而为一，玩家和角色坐在了同一张观众席。

除了营造代入感之外，这种meta也可以形成恰到好处的自嘲。当现实中的设计者知道自己游戏的痛点在哪里，却又处于种种考量无法修改时，就可以“嫁祸”于游戏中的设计者。比如在卖地区强化剂的商店里，商人告诉主角“这些关键材料藏得很隐蔽，你可以去和其它玩家交流交流”，屏幕外的我们就会会心一笑，知道这是鼓励我们去查查攻略。再比如朱红之塔的第四层，面对史无前例的、巨大依托的、不知天地为何物的一根筋开路解谜，谢尔盖会向名义上的设计师提出“你认真的？”的质问。玩家原本可能有点恼火，听到这些话也就气笑了，明白游戏作者并没有恶意，甚至感到有点抱歉。这种meta也恰到好处，始终没有扬升到严肃讨论的地步，不会像史丹利豪华版那样反噬自己。

现在终于打完了本体的结局，没有故事尘埃落定的感觉，反而如同刑满释放一般，可以去打我垂涎已久的其它游戏了。出于上述提及的某些原因，不打算再玩DLC了，有空再跟着老仙的视频云一云。

I played this game before on the pirated version, and then played the New Game Plus because I heard about how humorous it is to play Sergey Hax. And now I bought this game and finished it again... which makes it 3 times. The combat is spectacular, the silent protagonist is done well, as others said, mainly because the protagonist isn't a self insert. The puzzles are something else, it can either be satisfying, annoying, but nothing in between. I loved the NPC Combat AI, it feels like I'm fighting against an actual player [spoiler] (the first time I dueled against Apollo, I lost miserably, although I now know how to fight against him) [/spoiler], although I kind of wished to see other kind of variety between other types of NPCs (classes existed for a reason[spoiler], given we only dueled against Spheromancers and one Hexacast [/spoiler] ) . However there are two negatives I need to address, that will probably not be fixed anyway: the dimensions are confusing, many times I have fallen into a water when I thought I was going to land on a solid land; and the dash and the guard is the same button, which is a disaster when i want to guard but end up dashing instead, and vice versa. Other than that, I recommend this underrated game, I'm surprised this isn't as popular as Hollow Knight is.

В целом мне понравилось (7/10), на 65 часов залип, местами душнился.

+ Приятный пиксельарт, анимации, саундтрек.
+ Боевая система, по началу скучно, но с раскачкой становится динамично, скиллы которые сильно разбавляют боевку (типа повесить заморозку на босса, оставить клона, парирование с замедлением времени, в общем новый элемент и прокачка всегда подкидывает что то прикольное).
+ Боссы и враги, тут тоже все вполне хорошо, не сложно но и не скучно, минимум духоды.

~ Сюжет звезд с неба не хватает (для меня середнячек), персонажи прописаны слабовато.

- Душноватые головоломки, с минимальным разнообразием в механиках (в рамках одного данжа из комнаты в комнату вы будете решать одни и те же головоломки, они довольно легкие но их плотность начинает душнить).
- Сайд квесты, почти всегда хрень в духе "сходи принеси" "убей кучу мобов" и т.д (и типа это вписывается в концепцию ммо внутри игры, но могло быть и получше) интересных сайд квестов мало.
- Исследование, почти всегда никак не поощряется, с сундуков какие то ресы, баффы, хилки (иногда экипировка которая теряет свою актуальность почти сразу).

I started playing this game many years ago and I've finnally gotten around to finishing it and its DLC. Its worldbuilding is fenomenal, but the same can be said about many other aspects of the game. I especially like the bossfights, as combat can be very satisfactory. It is a long game, but it is engaging for the vast majority of its duration.

One thing to keep in mind if you don't know what you're getting into is that the game is full of puzzles. Even traversing its environments can be a puzzle in and of itself. A lot of the puzzles require quick responses, but thankfully there are accessibility options that slow down the speed of things so it becomes a lot more manageable.

W sumie gra mnie nie zawiodła. Masa plusów: system walki, rozwoju, klimat świata mmo, zagadki, grafika, muzyka, dźwięki, efekty specjalne. Tyle że jeden według mnie poważny szkopuł wszystko zrujnował - eksploracja. Jest bardzo uciążliwa i dopóki dotyczyła ona samych dodatków było ok, niestety im dalej w las, tym częściej w tym zafiksowanym drogami świecie musiałem odszukiwać NPC-a, który da mi misję, by ruszyć dalej. Kilka razy teleportowałem się do początku gry, by odwiedzać wszystko po koleii z braku pomysłów. Na 20 godzin gry, szukanie co dalej to jakieś 5. Wolę grę nieco gorszą nawet pod każdym względem, ale nie dającej mi uczucia tracenia czasu. Odechciało mi się w to grać.
A jeśli szukasz na prawdę gry singleplayer będącą symulacjhą MMO, to polecam imo najlepszą grę tego typu - Shining Resonance Refrain.

This is a charming pixel action-RPG that plays like if Secret of Mana and Metroid Prime had a baby, covered in MMO lingo. You got your beat-em-up melee/ranged combat, you got your elemental weapons with a kind of stamina/ammo bar, you got your physics puzzles (pretty cool) and your timed physics puzzles (fun once you get your reflexes warmed up) and your "this treasure chest is reached by jumping up a ledge two screens away and navigating a series of platforms where it isn't immediately obvious what kind of verticality you are dealing with" puzzles (yeah).

There's a lot worldbuilding if you're into reading fun sci-fi nonsense, a few genuinely hilarious moments, a dose of existentialism, and The Power of Friendship. If you have no familiarity with MMOs then some of the twists on common tropes won't land, but there's a certain dungeon that really plays around with expectations. It's brief, but it feels on par with some of meta stuff you get out of Kojima.

Also the DLC has a joke involving diegetic sound that made me clap my hands like an excited seal.

體驗非常非常差勁，缺點和設計缺失占了全遊戲的80%，優點講了也是白講，玩到15個小時，差勁的體驗依然大於快樂和享受遊戲的體驗，小怪一堆無敵時間，簡直是遊戲史上設計得最差的小怪，完完全全的拖時間，除了刺蝟和兔子以外基本都是胡亂設計，就是不讓你好好打要玩躲貓貓，後面還變本加厲，地圖解謎設計一大堆小小失誤就跨地圖重跑，偏偏高低差視覺引導又做得不清不楚，玩到20小時感覺後面也沒機會翻盤了，玩到火大的頻率比開心的頻率高太多，最大的問題還是地圖和提示引導"沒有做"，而且謎題設計處處有股製作團隊賣弄技術和傲慢的味道，很難聞，有時間搞那些花樣不先把地圖引導和跳躍功能還有地形落差做好吧?

說了這麼多缺點和抱怨還是給好評是因為我還能有打開來玩的慾望

It was several years ago when i gave up on this game. Its not an RPG, the drops dont matter, everything is tied to the main questline for which i didnt like the story of.

Now i decided to give it another chance and the game frozen dead during the tutorial. I would be saying that this is a game that needs mods to be truly enjoyable but it doesnt really have any.

There are at least two reasons for which I disliked the game and thought of dropping it about every day I’ve bothered to plod through it.

First, it’s really not an RPG. Numbers go up, sure, but all the rewards become negligible and all the quests are a waste of time to complete when you move to the next area. Nothing scales that well and the best way to improve your character is just to advance the plot line – you’ll gain about five levels’ worth of experience from just beating random new enemies for twenty minutes. Generic vendor inventory will almost instantly outshine your painstakingly sought out legendary items from the last chapter. As a result, building your character is really just unlocking new elemental attacks.

Elemental attacks are tied to the other reason I disliked CrossCode. You’re expected to juggle four basic elements all the time, I mean – all the time. Most every fight in the game is a tiny mini game with you doing some form of precise shooting to break your opponent, at which point you can finally dish out some damage.

Needless to say it gets really stale when not chapter bosses, not mini-bosses, but trash mobs are mini games. The elemental attacks are also not unlimited – using them builds up Elemental Overload, which means you will have to run around like a headless chicken until you cool down. One could argue it leads to more precise usage of the elements, but it’s nonsense – there are too many enemies that expect you to really spam them to break their armor, which you will not manage at times.

I did not bother with the post-game DLC I bought simply because the base game proved to be exhausting enough. Many people liked CrossCode, I assume because of the presentation and 2,5D parkour mechanics. They’re reasonably nice. Equally many people complain about the sheer abundance of environmental puzzles, sometimes bogging the game down horribly. This is also true. These points are not as important to me writing this review as the two factors discussed above.

I played this game when the demo was on Newgrounds and was hoping that when I got the full game it would be the same. Playing it 8 years after it has been released, I can say I was not disappointed. It's such a beautiful game, I can tell everything was made with so much heart, from the story to the combat from start to finish Crosscode had me hooked. I hope that Radicalfish's next game will continue to have the same passion.

Let me gush about this game for the next 10 minutes. The fact that this is [i]just[/i] "very positive" had it sitting in my library for too long, and I am SO MAD I didn't play it sooner. Everything I'll praise I'll caveat by saying that the game seems tailor-made to my tastes, and I get it won't be for everyone. Like for example I see comments criticizing the pacing (I don't have any complaints there). But art is always going to be subjective, and different things will appeal to different people.

What [i]isn't[/i] subjective is the overwhelming amount of LOVE that is put into every single aspect of this game. This is going to sound cheesy, but while playing I kept getting emotional at the amount of heart and care I felt pouring out from the developers into the game. That is increasingly rare nowadays, and I hope that no matter what the legacy of this game is, the devs can feel proud that they made something that they gave their all to.

Ok, corny sentimentality aside, let's get into what makes this game one of the best I've played in years (and I play a lot of games):

[h1]Story[/h1]
I don't expect a lot from the story of my puzzle-action Zelda-like/Metroidvanias. I'm used to either silent and atmospheric (Hyper Light Drifter, Cocoon), or JRPG-adjacent "get the four crystals" (most Zelda games) schlock. CrossCode is closer to the latter, but only because it's a game-within-a-game - the schlockiness is the story of the [i]game world,[/i] and even gets commented on by other characters. The story is a love letter to MMOs at the start, and becomes something much richer and deeper later on. I'd compare it favorably to (and there are spoilers in this comparison) [spoiler]Pantheon[/spoiler], which also happens to be my favorite show of this year.

Spoilers for a particular sequence that absolutely blew me away - and I highly recommend you don't spoiler yourself for this: [spoiler]the sequence break during the raid that sends you to the Vermilion Wasteland blew my mind. Fully one of those "I didn't know a game could do that" moments - my jaw was on the floor. The fact that the devs were willing to tease you with this big boss, and then rip it away and send you on this narrative-heavy sequence outside the main game, showed that they had so much trust in their players to see the story through and not get upset.[/spoiler]

Let's talk about the characters: for the most part character work is light and campy, but it makes sense because the stakes are very different for most characters, versus for Lea. And Lea - WOW is she amazing. I have never seen a more expressive and personality-filled silent protagonist, and I have especially never seen a protagonist where their silence is diagetic AND an obstacle AND a plot point AND handled by their friends in such a beautiful way. Lea's story alone is worth the price of admission.

[h1]Combat[/h1]
Probably my most controversial take, but I really really loved the combat - but I am a sucker for top down action. I appreciated that you have the option to specialize into ranged or melee combat, since I suck at aiming with a controller. However, being able to seamlessly blend both grows in importance throughout the game, so I could actually feel myself getting more skilled in real time along with Lea. The best part is the enemy variety, with each enemy having its own attack patterns and ways to stun it that you have to learn. A slight criticism here - playing to enemy weaknesses tends to be more important than playing to your strengths, so I found that my "build" was less important than it could have been. Still, as primarily a puzzle enjoyer, I liked that the combat played out like a series of puzzles rather than a tight test of skills or reflexes. I could see criticizing the difficulty (i.e. it's too easy), but I beat most bosses on my 3rd or 4th try, and that's exactly my sweet spot. Soulslike fans, or even fans of something like Tunic, will probably sweep everything no problem.
Sidenote, but I especially loved how your friends join you in combat. It means you get to see how the other classes in the game-within-a-game work, even though you can't play them yourself, and really immersse you in the feel of partying up in an MMO.

[h1]Puzzles[/h1]
Masterfully done. Each new mechanic tutorializes itself, there are "aha" moments galore, the mechanics never overstay their welcome, but also nothing is one-and-done. The creativity on display here is what I'd expect from a long running series (e.g. Zelda) that's done everything and is digging deep for fresh ideas, not a brand-new indie studio. I personally didn't feel that any dungeon overstayed its welcome, and solving most puzzles creates a little shortcut so you don't have to do it again when revisiting dungeons to pick up missed loot.

On top of typical Zelda-like puzzle box dungeons, I'm also a big fan of the environmental hidden path puzzle. Although admittedly frustrating at times, most of them are obviously optional challenges, so only a true completionist is going to have a bad time. On the other hand, they make the verticality of the maps stand out in a way that can sometimes suffer in this art style, and in my opinion make you really look at the environments instead of just rushing from battle to battle. This is important, because...

[h1]Artstyle[/h1]
The game is beautiful. The character portraits are packed with emotion and personality. The enemies are varied and expressive. The particle effects and special attacks are awesome without cluttering the screen. Bosses are big and badass. And the maps and environments are the icing on the cake. Your typical forest-mountain-desert-jungle RPG quadfecta is here, but that's the wink-wink-nudge-nudge schlock. The cyberpunk city in the middle of the jungle though? The wasteland? The hub town that feels alive with players and cars zooming around? The [i]neon bamboo forest? [/i]Wow. Luckily, I think the Steam images do some justice here. Everything is so detailed and varied - I just kept thinking, how much time did the pixel artists spend on this???

[h1]UI/Systems[/h1]
This is where I really felt the care in every detail. Skill trees, crafting system, quest log, inventory management - a lot of indie games would cheap out in some of these areas, if not all of them. But in every aspect where I would expect a small team like this to cut corners, these devs just... don't. Menus are a breeze to navigate, and look great. There is always enough information on screen. There's a bestiary with drop percentages, locations, and little funny quips. There are lore dumps if you want them. There are quest summaries so if you're coming back after a break, you can catch up on the story so far. I know these things sound small, but they add up - I kept encountering things that would make me think "this didn't have to be here, but someone [i]cared [/i]enough to make it." Speaking of which, the wiki for this game is unmatched for an indie title like this. I don't know if this is also the devs putting in more work, or just a really dedicated fan community, but to me a good wiki is a mark of a great project.

[h1]Conclusion[/h1]
Look, I can't promise you'll like this game. I see lots of negative reviews that criticize things that, to me, are positives (length, sidequests, pacing, story). But if any of this review resonates with you, I strongly encourage you to pick this up and give it a go. This isn't just a good game under $20 - I'd consider it in my top 5 of the past decade. Lastly, I just want to express my deepest gratitude to the devs for making this thing that feels almost custom-fit for me. I don't usually write reviews, but I feel so strongly about what you've made here that I want to add my thumb up to the pile and hopefully get you that "overwhelmingly positive" someday. And when your next game releases, even if it's only got a fraction of the passion and care this one has (which seems unlikely), I'll be first in line to play it.

I'm sorry but I found myself quitting at the 4th hour. Still a positive review? Yes. The game is very well crafted, but I was bored most of the time. I like the combat, sort of. Technically it's what made me drop it, it didn't engage me for long enough. The characters seem really nice but I have little to no motivation to want to continue, as early as I am, and I recognize that. It's easy to tell within a few hours of a game if you will love it enough to finish it, I liked it, but I suppose not enough. HOWEVER THIS GAME IS VERY ENDEARING AND I DO RECOMMEND GIVING IT A SHOT.

I started this expecting nothing...but boy was I not expecting I'd get everything! In my first play session I played for 10 hours straight. I cannot recommend this game enough and I am looking forward to sinking many more hours into this one. The only thing I could even complain about is how awful the map is but even still, I kinda like it; reminds me of that old RPG jank. This is a must play, especially if you aren't all that into turn-based combat. I could go on and on about what I enjoy about this game but honestly it speaks for itself. Do yourself a favor and play Crosscode if you haven't yet :)

If you wanted an action JRPG game that is more puzzle than action, then this is great. I personally don't care about the puzzles, and they really lowered my desire to actually launch the game to play through it. So much about the game is really great, but it's a slog at a lot of places because of puzzles, and if you take a break from playing, you often come back not knowing what's going on or where to go. I enjoy puzzle games, but that's when I know I'm playing explicitly for puzzles. I don't want to play CrossCode the game for puzzles, I want to play it for the action and story. I know it's advertised as having puzzles, I just wasn't expecting it to be so prevalent.

远星物语也许是2D塞尔达最偏执的学生，一条路走到黑的大地图探索与失衡的地牢设计注定会将许多玩家拒之门外。

地牢/神殿部分量大管饱，但未免太大了。虽说一旦适应了这样的强度，谜题倒也不算困难，但游戏缺乏一个相对平滑的难度曲线，前期引导稍弱，体验略显糟心。

游戏的解谜确实是被精心打磨过的，制作者止不住的热忱埋藏在游戏的每一个角落，只不过这样的热情似乎过了火，以致平铺直叙的纯粹解谜地牢化作了名副其实的“牢房”。
中后期枯燥而臃肿的、无穷尽的解谜房，本身的设计问题其实不大，能力与机关道具的结合做到了至臻至善，制作组是真的在有意识地运用曾经出现过的所有机关——它们并非为单一关卡而诞生、只出场一两次便草草隐身，而是填充在此后的每一步环节，并同其他机关巧妙互作、激发出奇异的化学反应，这是难能可贵的。只可惜如此诚意换来的流程体验却丝毫不美妙。肉眼可见的毛病有很多：泛滥的大长篇解谜、早期的引导与教学问题、完全丧失的正向反馈……不过，我觉得最严重的问题一定是——这地牢一眼望去一点也不 Zelda-like !

坦白地说，游戏的地牢房间串联设计相当讲究，制作组或许想让玩家放空头脑（?），将全部精力投入到解谜而不是寻路当中。顺着设计好的既定路线，玩家在解谜之余自然而不遗漏地穿过每一个房间，不知不觉间走完了整个地牢。这类思路可以受到赞许，但至少在本部作品中，我不认为这是个好的想法，它剥离了老塞尔达最重要的元素——箱庭的探索感。

解密房在远星物语中的性质是古怪的，它们的存在过于独立，彼此之间缺乏汇通与联动。制作组明显意识到了这点，试图通过穿插战斗场景缓解关卡叙事的贫乏之痛，却依然无法弥补地牢整体的割裂感。玩家在其中从未有过扮演一个探索者的机会，他们苦苦忍受着接二连三涌现的解谜考试，在游戏的牵引下被动穿行。
因此，正如前面所提到的，纵使房间回环串联的无形排布本身也算有趣，制作组还是表现得过于谦虚了，他们选择把这番设计藏着掖着，而不是掏出来和玩家分享这到底有多精妙！换句话说，玩家在主观上根本意识不到他们的“探索”有何参与感，这太糟糕了。
探索的欲望连带着真切的参与感、持续的正反馈体验、对做题式解谜所携带痛苦的稀释一同丢失了，取而代之的是乏善可陈、似曾相识的关卡的单调复现。那些对下一个未知房间所抱有的永恒的好奇心、那些意识到关卡整体联通构造的绝妙顿悟、那些惊诧于机关道具互作应用的新奇体验，它们都去哪里了?可能只有波神殿的那个上下层传送房稍微有点味道，但这实在不够，也绝对不够。

地上部分又是一次用力过猛的尝试。平心而论，地图设计是下了功夫的，可我不理解制作组为何如此执拗地把资源全盘堆在又臭又长的绕路解谜上。高低差的把戏玩一两次足矣，通篇绕绕绕的失败设计只能彰显创作灵感的枯竭，遑论那一言难尽的平台跳跃视觉判定。其实制作组也明白这点，他们甚至借NPC之口吐槽了，可仍是乐此不疲地一股脑往里塞，甚至DLC还保留了熟悉的配方……
好的地图设计可以有高低差解密，但不应抱着高低差不放。Fanastasis都能顶着廉价素材把2D俯视角箱庭玩出花来，怎么到这里就只会复读高低差高低差高低差了呢？明明手头攥着这么多好用的元素能力，它们在地牢解密中也都得到了充分运用，为何一到大地图反而派不上用场？元素&环境的交互与探索的结合不正是一个很有趣的设计方向吗？

说实话，相当一部分类塞只重地牢不重地上，不是零散摆弄几个能力锁就是连锁都懒得上，理念过于保守。远星物语能在这方面提出自己的想法（尽管不成熟），值得肯定。我记得游戏中有这么一处，运用了冰柱顶上可以行走的特性来获取宝箱，表面上是能力锁的运用，实则是反向能力锁，称得上是讨喜的设计，其实可以多来一点（制作组还是太小气了，明明你细节填塞得这么到位…）。

任务设计总体参差不齐，不过，类塞类银这个品类任务出众的本就极少，不给你塞来回跑腿或者钓鱼游戏已经不错了。远星物语有引导玩家观察地图设计的潜在教学性质任务，有与能力结合很深的小游戏（塔防都给你整出来了！），倒也无需苛责。

任系Boss往往强调机制设计，以外观形态凸显敌人弱点，针锋相对，见招拆招。远星物语继承了这一优良传统，但战斗过程绝不显得一板一眼，这要归功于游戏成熟的现代像素动画美术、炫酷丝滑的动作系统与量大管饱、出奇制胜的元素框架（RPG化有RPG化的好处）。美中不足的是刷素材时仍旧要被高低差高低差高低差折磨（恨）

MMORPG式的单机游戏，人情味儿十足的AI队友（尽管在游戏中我们才是AI），这大概是曾经出现在梦里的场景了，可谓真正意义上的梦中情游！我太喜欢本作的队友互动系统与旁白了，日常闲叙式的吐槽交流与围绕氛围塑造的极致细节堆砌早已奠定好了叙事的基调，何况这本身就是一个天马行空又如梦幻般的美好故事。

远星物语是一款有着这样那样的拧巴缺陷的、绝不完美的游戏，或许前面提出的批评对一部独立游戏而言太过严苛，无论如何，它依然是一样我所真心热爱与珍视的宝藏，由衷地推荐给每一位爱好探索类游戏的玩家。

Zdecydowanie na tle innych rpg wybijają się questy poboczne, które (poza jednym wyjątkiem) nie ograniczają się do ,,zabij X wrogów" ,,zbierz X itemów". Każdy quest ma swoją osobną mini historię, a często nawet i kontynuacje. Questy są w zasadzie jedynym rzetelnym sposobem na levelowanie postaci, bo zabijanie stworków bardzo szybko daje tak mało expa, że nie jest to opłacalne. Aczkolwiek nie jest to problem jak mówiłem, questy są ciekawe i nie sposób się przy nich nudzić.

Na plus zasługuje również historia, oraz barwne postacie. Fabuła może nie jest jakaś bardzo zawiła, ale jest poprowadzona w interesujący sposób, a postacie, których ciężko nie lubić, ładnie to wszystko komplementują

Jeżeli miałbym się o coś czepiać to dwóch rzeczy:
- Zagadki w dungeonach bywają mocno przesadzone, przez co często musiałem zaglądać do poradnika, a że jest ich dużo, to mogą one łatwo przytłoczyć, jednakże z drugiej strony miłośnicy łamigłówek będą się tutaj czuć jak ryba w wodzie, mocno to zależy od preferencji
- sekrety bywają chamsko poukrywane na platformach o których możesz sobie nawet nie zdawać z sprawy że możesz na nie wskoczyć, ALE z drugiej strony odnalezienie ich własnoręcznie bywa satysfakcjonujące, więc to też zależy od gustu

Très bon jeu je recommande , même jouable en français pour ceux qui ont vraiment du mal avec l'anglais il faut juste faire une petite manip .
L'histoire est vraiment sympathique à suivre et on s'attache beaucoup aux personnages .
Les quêtes se renouvellent sans cesse il sera rare de les trouver redondante .
Il exploite bien c'est mécaniques de gameplay pour interagir avec les éléments du jeu que ce soit pendant le parcours , les énigmes et les combats , tout en nous offrant un bon challenge , sans pour autant être trop dur , il suffit en général de comprendre comment contourner la problématique pour passer l'obstacle , les boss n'ont pas 5 000 000 de PV , une fois que tu sais comment exploiter leurs faiblesses ils peuvent tomber assez vite , le jeu peut vraiment nous mettre à l'épreuve dans certains combats en nous demandant de l'habilité , de la précision et de la vitesse d'exécution tout en exploitant l'environnent ceux qui est bien plus satisfaisant que de juste bourrer des ennemis très costaud .

J'attend leur prochain jeu avec impatiente et merci à eux pour nous avoir pondu cette merveille .

Possibly one of the most immaculately-made games I’ve ever played. Everything is top quality: the visuals, the music, the puzzles, the characters, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the COMBAT. It’s a complicated system but it works you into it until you feel mastery. Every boss of the huge roster managed to be fascinating and satisfying to me. It’s such a vast, sprawling game that I have no idea how this team managed to imbue so much care into every corner. The narrative was fascinating, you’ve gotta love video games to appreciate it though. Looking forward to exploring the epilogue DLC, it’s got a super promising setup.

Was ich besonders erwähnen möchte: Unsere Heldin Lea ist ein genialer Twist auf den Archetyp des "stummen Spielercharakters". Im Gegensatz zum Klischee will sie sprechen, kann es aber nicht. Sie stößt daher auch immer wieder auf Grenzen. Mitteilen kann sie sich trotzdem und sie hat mehr Charakter, als so mancher sprechende Charakter aus anderen Games.

CrossCode is a game that might bear some visual resemblance to whatever flavour of 90s classic you prefer, but stands on its own two legs without relying on good old nostalgia to carry it. Every action you take in this game is fluid and fast, and hitting things only gets more satisfying as you progress further.

Dungeons and the problem-solving they demand are a particular high point. Most objects have multiple potential interactions, and combining those with the relationship between their position and yours makes for some real head-scratchers that always satisfied me when I figured out the solution.

Fittingly for the game's premise, there's an abundance of side quests. While early on a couple may seem like filler "defeat ten blue sheep" missions, most of the quests after that involve some kind of unique minigame or boss fight - often both!

For me though, the game really shines in how it presents its main character. Lea is amazingly expressive, and you can't help but root for her. There's a bigger story here, but it's her and her interactions with the rest of the cast that really sell it. Some meta-sounding stuff about Video Games™ may rub some people the wrong way, but I never felt too much like the characters weren't being believable humans when they spoke.

What you have here is a game made [i]by[/i] people who love games [i]for[/i] people who love games, and they demonstrate it through the passion put into its design rather than just telling you about it. I really think this one's special.

如果你对平台游戏（跳跳乐）、解谜游戏、甚至动作游戏苦手，那看到这个评论的话，你就可以考虑放弃这个游戏了。如果不是，那毫无疑问，远星物语对你来说将是一款佳作。
就我个人而言的游玩体验大概分为三段。
一阶段:游玩时长1-20h左右，这个阶段我因为本身就不喜欢跳跳乐和解谜，在初期新鲜感过了以后就无时无刻不处于破防、破口大骂的状态，再加上手柄漂移会在瞄准射击和跑酷跳跳乐时带来各种惊喜都让我觉得这个游戏纯傻逼，几次都被气昏过去。
二阶段:游玩时长21-40h，这个阶段由于游戏的战斗部分深得我心，我努力尝试和它的解谜，跳跳乐部分和解。明白了到一个新区域首先要找相对应环境的新台阶、射击弹球的各种角度等技巧，但在爬过雪山，走过沙漠后，看到盖丁花园的傻逼地图和66个时尚小垃圾宝箱后还是差点两眼一黑背过气去。
三阶段:游玩时长41-80+小时，最终阶段可以说是从打完第四个神庙开始的，从这里解谜可以说相比之前已经减少了很多，宝箱的奖励也偏向高级装备素材，加上进入我最喜欢的刷刷刷环节，正反馈不断，虽然有的的解谜和跳跳乐还是会让人破口大骂，但总体还是快乐的。也是从这个时候我开始思考《远星物语》它对我来说算不算一款好的游戏。
结论是肯定的，尽管它大量堆叠解谜跳跳乐内容，尽管它的主线剧情不尽人意，但毫无疑问它是一款好游戏。如果以独立游戏的标准来看，它的素质可以把我近年来玩的独立游戏拉一块秒了，用心程度甚至都让人感觉创作者有些傲慢了。如果能将解谜，跳跳乐减少一下，再深化一下剧情和战斗部分，我都不敢想它会有多热门。
