Where to start, I have played a lot of Boomer Shooters, and to call this one is almost painful. First issue is NO options menu is was released in 2017.... no reason not to have some sound or video options never mind key binding. Second is the game play is broken. The AI has some wicked aim with some Wanted bullet curving skills. I wish I was recording but I entered a room and all the baddies was T posing and yet shooting me even after I ducked behind a box. I wish this game cooked for about a year longer and it would have been okay but as it is, It will be forever ABANDONED I have better games to play

Шутер на GameGuru. Тут движок совсем не узнать и видно что авторы старались сделать что-то годное. Я наверное лучше игр на этом движке и не видел даже... Но тут есть и его проблема в тех самых версиях, а именно - вылетание игры на загрузке уровня. Вылетело - начинай на уровень назад заново... Однозначно пролетел бы игру до конца и прошел бы оба эпизода, тем более после квейка прям зашло... Но вылетать и гонять уровни по кругу я точно не готов...

The enemies with guns will shoot you the instant a single pixel of your hitbox enters their line of sight. Melee based enemies will hit you when they are nowhere close to you.
non functinal trash. game looks awesome to bad devs are more worried about releasing a sequal than finishing what they start.

It's an old shcool FPS that is stupidly difficult. Not much fun when you can barely walk around a corner without being shot to death.

It's an alright FPS, you can dual wield shotguns, machineguns and pistols and shoot at the off-brand necromorphs from Dead Space, or cyborgs. Quite fun.
There was a bug where a door didn't open, so I had to replay the level, it wasn't a headache. But the only indication I had of the bugged door, was that an enemy was clipping through it. There is no way to differentiate between doors that open and doors that don't.

Нет настроек управления. Всю жизнь приседаю на "C", а на моей клаве ctrl вообще черт знает где, до него не дотянешься. Как вы мне предлагаете играть? Сенсор мышки медленный для меня, но перенастроить не могу, круто! А иногда он скачет так, что теряется ориентация в пространстве.
Вообще, не понятно, чем пытается казаться эта игра? Для шутера слишком мало врагов. Для хоррора нет никакой экспозиции, такая себе атмосфера, нет ни мистики, ни скримеров никаких. В общем, хз, что это. Визуал мне бы зашел, будь он хоть чуточку разнообразнее, а так, однообразие и скукотища.
В общем, чего рассусоливать? Плохая игра!

Definitely needs some improvements but overall a good game if your fans of 90's shooters.
Кажется мне, что бюджет игры такой же, как и её стоимость со скидкой. Это дешевая, кривая, безликая и просто неинтересная игра. Хотя ожидания некоторые на её счёт были. На деле же, это демка собранная из бесплатных ассетов, и прочих деталей и кусков, которые создателю удалось найти, кое-как собранных в одно целое и подписанное названием игры, как я понял.
Поиграв во все две игры от разработчика Madbox, хочу пожелать ему успехов. Ведь обе его игры хоть и плохи, но имеют некоторый потенциал. Как минимум любопытный внешний вид. Надеюсь в будущем он будет больше стараться и уделять больше внимания балансу, дизайну уровней и техническому состоянию игр.

Crimson Metal Classic 1999 es un caos absoluto, y no en el buen sentido. El gunplay es torpe, los enemigos parecen sacos de boxeo sin inteligencia, y los gráficos están más desfasados que una tele de tubo. Se supone que es un homenaje a los clásicos, pero se siente más como una parodia mal hecha. Los controles son un dolor de cabeza y la dificultad es frustrante por todas las razones equivocadas. Jugar esto es más una penitencia que una experiencia divertida. Ni de coña lo recomendaría, es un desastre de principio a fin.

Game keeps crashing on level 2, you can't change the resolution or use options, really bad feature no options, Doom in 1994 had options, this game don't have it and they present it like good feature. Sadly I have game for long time in my library so I can't refund.

Yapay zeka zaten pek iyi değil bir çok eksiği var bu oyunu tavsiye etmiyorum kesinlikle $4.99 verilmez.
If you expect anything reasonable than just keep your hands off that one so as there is no fun but anger to expect. First lacking of any settings, it is way too dark like there is an energy discipline, the basics comes (what else to expect) from Doom & Co but you cant call it old school shooter coz the old school was better. Music is like Quake but nothing new nor anything better. Loadtimes - take a p or s, come back and you can play! The character moves clumsy and tends to become glued to the ground when taking ammo, the no clip effect is present while foes are hurting you thru apparent paper walls, once I picked/up a weapon but had no new weapon, taking a weapon into both hands goes on but not off anymore, enemies are Doom like soldiers but hopping and stepping in front of you like on the dance floor, sometimes they are easy to kill sometimes near immortal beings. So, I can crash some boxes but almost never there is a content, I can move dynamic objects but didnt figure out why I should do that. Secrets are not bad but after each one you get badly rewarded by stand-by troopers and Alien stuff as Dead Space had a visit in there. Medipacks are there in numbers so as you may reach 300 in max but at same fast the health is gone again. Looks like a movie script as all hands are waiting for you with sights on like the player carries a ghetto blaster on his shoulder. Well, I expected a bit more from it but even the basics are not been fulfilled so better buy something else. Bought it in a sale and such or similar games are made to be bought at a sale, only.

[b]CRIMSON METAL[/b] tenta nos cativar com a nostalgia dos jogos FPS frenéticos dos anos 90 e 2000, como DOOM, Quake, Serious Sam, etc. Porém, infelizmente, ele falha miseravelmente.
Alguns critérios me fazem gostar de um jogo, são eles:
- [i]O jogo me fez ter sentimentos?[/i] [b]Não.[/b]
- [i]Então a história é boa?[/i] [b]Inexistente.[/b]
- [i]Pelo menos a mecânica é divertida?[/i] [b]Genérica e bugada.[/b]
Esse é um jogo claramente feito na engine FPS Creator, muito famosa nos anos 2005 a 2010 pela sua incrível facilidade em criar jogos FPS de nível aceitável. Porém essa engine tem diversas limitações e, um jogo feito nela, carrega essas limitações junto dele.
O visual é ok para a época da engine: 2007, em que começou a usar o DX10, mas não para o ano que foi produzido (2017). Não ligo para gráficos. Ele até que é bem trabalhado, mesmo sendo datado.
O que estraga a experiência é a mecânica e bugs.
Os inimigos conseguem atirar em ti pela parede. Correr e se esquivar não adianta nada, tu toma dano mesmo assim. Os carregamentos são bem demorados, parece que o jogo está num HD IDE (gente das antigas entenderão).
Na vez que tentei utilizar duas armas ao mesmo tempo, uma delas não aparecia. Mesmo carregando o jogo salvo, ela não aparecia.
Ele tem configuração gráfica, nem mesmo volume! Isso é uma vergonha.
"Mas é limitação da engine", então não lance um jogo nela, simples assim.
Além disso ele se vende por 25,00 reais. Tá de brincadeira.
Não gosto de negativar um jogo, principalmente feito por uma pessoa ou estúdios pequenos. Mas, infelizmente, não posso recomendar CRIMSON METAL.

Long story short: Its dollar-store Quake 2 with CoD guns, HL2 box-physics puzzles and the stalker necromorphs from DS2
I totally get that FPS Creator is open source now, but man, this game is so buggy and ignores so many game design affordances that I just couldn't bother to finish the game, and let me tell you, the only reason I was able to spend 3 hours playing this was because I just happen to be inclined to digging info on old videogame engines and figured out a way to remap the controls...
Speaking of, beign absolutey honest, FPS Creator was, just like RPG Maker, always meant for hobby projects, and most likely, anyone willing to put up with gameplay derived from FPS Creator is better off just getting a copy of the engine (and the many, many free asset packs out there) and just crafting their own "game" for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles.
It is an OK techno-demo that reminded me of the game DOOMED, but it is too clunky and you do not ask money for this kind of projects.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

I love this game! I still return to it now, in 2023. Wish I'd left a review sooner, but hey, better late than never.
The game is brutally difficult, but I like that. The graphics and sound (dark, thumping music and loud gunshots) create an ominous, threatening atmosphere. The guns look perfect, the reloading animations, blood splatters and so on, and they feel weighty and powerful.
As the store page says, the game isn't perfect. It occasionally crashes, load times can be slow, and it sometimes glitches out. necessitating a reload. You can save at will, so this isn't a major issue.
It's also built with a fairly dated engine. To me, that makes it all the more impressive. I give the dev props for creating such an enjoyable game with the limited engine. No mean feat. I can only imagine what they could create with a more modern engine.
My recorded play time isn't a true reflection of the hours I've put into this game. It runs fine without Steam, so I've tended to launch it directly from the game folder.
In a nutshell. if you like the look of Crimson Metal, jump in and give it a go! It copped flak for various reasons, but I can't praise it enough. Persist and the core gameplay shines through the flaws.
I hope to see more from Madbox!!

Este Shooter tiene varios problemas. Para empezar es sumamente corto. En 1,5 Hs se completa, pero el mayor inconveniente es en que vas a demorar mas que eso en terminarlo, por la simple razón de que crashea seguido o peor aun, te quedas atorado en el suelo, cajas o cualquier otro obstáculo al que te acerques demasiado...
Su mecánica central como FPS tampoco funciona demasiado bien. El tema es que tus enemigos comienzan a dispararte antes de verte siquiera y tienen una precisión por lo general de 100% y casi nunca se detienen a recargar... es sumamente frustrante porque es una dificultas sumamente artificial. muchas veces un tipo con escopeta te esta pegando desde la otra punta del escenario con una precisión infalible..... WTF y a toda velocidad y sin recargar.. 10/10 no?
Pantallas de carga mediante cada uno de los 15 niveles del juego que son bastante largas y cortan la acción.
El diseño de niveles es sumamente pobre. Todos los escenarios son laberintos muy parecidos y no muy imaginativos salvo un par de excepciones. Y en todos tienes exactamente el mismo y único objetivo. Juntar una tarjeta roja para abrir la puerta que te lleva al próximo escenario....
La mecánica de disparo es torpe e imprecisa.
Lo que si es rescatable es el sonido de las armas y la banda sonora. También como curiosidad esta la mecánica de que cuando tu arma se queda sin balas en el cargador esta no se recarga de forma automática, sino que tienes que ponerte vos a recargar. Por falta de costumbre morí muchas mas veces gracias a esto pero no puedo decir que me haya molestado sino que todo lo contrario.
No puedo de ninguna manera recomendar este juego. Tiene muchos problemas y es demasiado corto. Aparte de que al menos en moneda Argentina esta sumamente caro y es irrisorio pagar 1750 pesos por el, Incluso estando de rebaja. Esto yo lo compre por 50 pesos antes de que a Steam se le vaya la flapa con los precios regionales. Hoy en día esto es simplemente ridículo. Hay Juegos AAA por ese precio de oferta.

Otra porqueria que no tiene control de volumen/sonido, no se puede elegir ninguna opcion grafica, y la jugabilidad no solo es basica sinó tambien deficiente. . Un chasco realmente. Las pantallas de carga demoran demasiado para suplir la carencia de opcion de controles. No tiene ni un menu para revisar que teclas usar. Solo lo sugerido en la pantalla de carga que simula estar cargando el nivel. Ni para un juego del 99 es aceptable que no tenga la opcion de cambiar o enceder o apagar el sonido. Ni cambiar una sola opcion de video como la resolucion o poder jugar en modo ventana
Look, i wasnt expecting much effort here, but it has some decent design here and there. Music is good, all the enemies are reskins or just asset flipped.
Weapons are slow as ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, idk what the hell is going on with the crouch button and jumping, i have modded FPSCREATOR before and i dont remember it being this bad.
Obviously this is a low budget labour of love, and its hard to see it past that. Give it a chance. Its janky, slow and repetitive, but what boomer shooter isnt? If you enjoy nostalgic trips into the past of fps at least try it.
To give credit where it is due, this has a substantial amount of polish and custom UI/Artwork that i wasnt expecting to be there, in terms of introducing simple mechanics like "secrets" and monster closets.
To the guy that made this, good job. Its not AAA game quality, but its simple yet good fun shooting. :)
ps. i laughed my ass off when the tips screen mentions "meta corp has DNA registered weapons, so u cant use the enemies guns" i know the real reason for this, is that they turn into static props when an npc is killed, and or not usable by the [player].

o jogo é interessante maaaasss, se a proposta era parecer DOOM ou Quake devo dizer que passou longe, já joguei jogos melhores com essas inspirações. As mecânicas são terríveis a hitbox é horrível, não tem menu de configuração, quem sabe se der uma boa polida fique a altura da sua inspiração, mas no momento infelizmente não vou recomendar, não vale o preço se o seu objetivo é se divertir.

This review will be a little unconventional and may get a bit messy, but I’d like to start by clearing up some confusion many players seem to be having.
The current store title is extremely misleading. This game could not have been released in 1999 as FPS Creator (The engine this game is built on) did not exist until 2005. The entire game was created and published in 2017.
Another point many seem confused about is the ‘redux’. This is a nickname the dev team use for the v2.0 patch of the game. It focuses on revamping levels, graphics, and gameplay mechanics from each episode of the game. It uses the same engine as the original 2017 release and is not a separate instalment.

With that out of the way, I’d like to address some of the negative reviews. For those who played the game [i]before[/i] the redux was released, I can understand the frustration. The enemies deal far too much damage, they can shoot through walls, their attacks are guaranteed to hit, and the gunplay feels extremely clunky, not to mention that there are severe clipping issues, massive frame drops around physics objects, random crashes, and some quite confusing level design, among other things. Having gone back and played through the entire game myself after finishing the redux, I cannot in all good conscience say that it was an enjoyable experience.
[b]This version can be accessed via the v1.3 beta branch in Steam’s properties menu. It features the original levels of episodes one and two, but I believe episode three is no longer available to the public. If it doesn't launch through Steam, you can open the .exe file manually.[/b]
On the other hand, if you played the redux and still left a negative review, you more than likely fall under one of these brackets:

I read through every negative review since the v2.0 patch, and while the game isn’t without flaw, I didn’t have anywhere near as many issues as others. I found that many people note intended features as glitches, and some even do the opposite. People who complained about a lack of settings were unaware that you could edit the ‘setup.ini’ file many indie games have. Some people complained about 'missing' features which have been in the game since it originally released. Every other problem can be boiled down to one of the above issues. The only bug which really affected my gameplay in any way was the crash at the beginning of each episode’s final chapter, which is easily remedied by loading the autosave after reopening the game.

Now onto the actual review.
The AI can be a bit annoying, mainly due to their sidestepping and extremely accurate hitscan mechanic, but they’re easy enough to deal with. Quite honestly, that’s my only complaint with the game in its current state. The writing could definitely use a little work, but you only ever see it during loading screens, so it doesn't really make a difference
There are a few features the game could benefit from, such as leaning and a native settings menu, but it’s otherwise a solid love letter to horror shooters like F.E.A.R. and DOOM. Just keep in mind that it costs five bucks. It won’t be perfect and there isn’t anything groundbreaking, but it’s still better than many games I’ve paid double the price for. I don’t want to compare it to the original DOOM, but given that they’re the same price, there are a few comparisons to be made. I’d personally like to see the whole game recreated in ZDOOM just for curiosity's sake, but then again, I’m a ♥♥♥♥♥ for a good DOOM WAD.
This next point is more of a subjective issue, so feel free to completely ignore it;
After finding out that most, if not all, of the assets are pre-made, my opinion of the game has shifted from good to mid. I understand that pre-made assets are created specifically for other developers to use, but as someone with experience in the game design industry, it’s always felt quite lazy to me. That said, this game doesn't feel like asset-flipped garbage. The devs picked packs which fit together nicely and work to create an intense horror environment. I also have to give props to the dev team for modding FPS Creator the way they have, although I know they’ve also used pre-existing engine mods such as Black Ice, so I’m not exactly sure how much is completely custom. Again, this is a subjective issue which ultimately doesn’t affect the gameplay.

If you’re into boomer shooters at all, I’d definitely recommend picking this up, or giving it another try if you were one of those early reviewers.

This is a 3D Doom clone FPS shooter, and there are lots of pros and cons. For the pros, I loved the ambience of this game. Definitely following Doom in it's sci-fi horror roots, the level design, soundtrack and monsters are pretty scary. Especially the music, I think it outweighs the quality of the game. I found a funny exploit where if you switch guns after draining your mag, it automatically reloads the gun, but only half the time. The FOV kept changing between levels, the gunplay and mouse sens was janky and the story was basic. Overall, I honestly enjoyed this game more than not, and it's decent for what it is. With a little more polishing this could be a good game.
I gave positive review only due to definition tells the truth. Do not think anyone can enjoy playing this game

Bu oyunu nereden gördüm de istek listeme aldım hatırlamıyorum. Müzikleri ve oyun hakkında hiçbir şey bilmemem beni içine çekti ama oyunda ayarlar menüsü yok. Oyun çok karanlık. A standard shooter with some nice horror setpieces that shows an attempt of quality was made here. I think they were quite close. The standard FPS Creator Assets are what holds this game back in my opinion.

Fazit: Für 50 Cent bringt das Spiel in gewisse Weise Laune für das Durchspielen. Aber ob man das jemals wieder anschmeißen will ist fraglich. Trotzdem hatte ich Spaß an CRIMSON METAL & irgendwas hat mich daran gebunden es fertig zu spielen :D

Crimson Metal is the best game of the OLD BLOOD Bundle. It's insane what the developer did here using FPS Creator. Looking forward to CRIMSON METAL 2 made with Unity or Unreal Engine. Hope there's a chance to se this.

Cantidad moderada de armas y de variedad de enemigos. Opcion de Guardar partida cuando queres.
Uso de tarjetas para abrir puertas, Mecanica de Apuntar (para mejorar precision a costa de moverte mas lento)
15 niveles divididos en 2 episodios
Hud decente, sonidos normales, musica algo pobre, buena ambientacion oscura.
El juego desafortunadamente no logra transmitir el espiritu de juegos de su epoca como el wolfenstein o similares, pero para pasar el rato esta bueno.

จากที่เล่นมาปัญหาที่เจอเลยคือ เกมมีการจะตุกเป็นช่วงแล้วข้อเเสียหลักๆเลยคือไม่มีหน้าตั้งค่าอะไรเลยผมที่เป็นคนเล่นเม้าช้าเลยไม่ควรสะดวกในการยิงเท่าไหร่ แนะนำว่าซื้อมาเล่นฆ่าเวลาดีกว่าครับแล้วช่วงลดราคาซื้อมาแค่9บาทก็ถือว่าไม่น่าเกรียด

Its pretty broken, its fun. but im not sure what i did, but i could no longer ADS, my shoot button got swapped to my ADS button, and i could no longer swap weapons. Ill try it again soon. but this is quite dissapointing as i was just playing when this happened

I figured out what the cause of the problem i was having with the ADS. I had used the crouch scroll mechanic without knowing it. After some testing do not use this mechanic if you are low on ammo. it will break.
Terrible horrible mechanics and lots of bugs.
Lowkey had high hopes for it, but alas ;(
Finished both episodes. It's a fun game, I just wish it would be longer. I think level design and atmosphere is great and carries it a long way. It reminds me a lot of how first Far Cry game plays.

Хотелось бы игру похвалить но увы незашто (Треш маразм и садомия). Пародия на старые шутеры и то кое как в дикорациях (почему в дум было весело играть а в это нет?). Управление деревянные (Такое ощюшение что папа Карло строгал не Пиноккио а деревянного Конмандоса). Гейплей прекрасен (в первые жизни вижу что враги и патроны сотрудничяют в дуэте).
Немного мат. части. Выйди на улицу найди тир и постреляй. Потом задумайся как реалезованна стрельба в этой игре (ответ появиться сам собой).

Hot garbage. no options menu to re-key controls, no FOV settings, no mouse sensativity settings and the game is clunky af as a result. not to mention this looks like it has assets from other games. I'm pretty sure one of the models used for one of the monsters looked like a copy pasted "Necromorph" from dead space.
