Nice game, I like the music, and the shadow mechanics are neat. I'm not a fan of having to adjust the camera angle myself, since that led to lots of miscalculations in movement. What really disappointed me though was how long- or rather, short- the game was. I was just getting into the lore and storyline, and then it ended.

çok uzun bir oynanışa sahip olmayan daha çok hikayenin odak noktasında olduğu tatlı bir yapım. karakter ve mekan tasarımları inanılmaz detaylı olmasa da gayet hoşlar. oyunun atmosferi sizi hemen içine çekiveriyor ve müzikleri çok güzel. didi adında küçük bir kızın babasının neden eve gelmiyor oluşunu merak ettiğinden çıktığı bu küçük macerada, annesinin babası ile küs olduklarını ve hiçbir işi yoluna koyamayıp eline yüzüne bulaştırdığından eve geri dönmesinin annesi tarafından istenmeyişini görüyoruz. didi ile birlikte babasının önüne çıkan aksilikleri önlemeye yardımcı oluyoruz. puzzleları birkaç tanesi hariç gayet kolay buldum. bir oturuşta bitirmelik sizi çok da yormayacak bir bulmaca oyunu arıyorsanız bakmanızı öneririm.

You play as a mute who can shadowwalk across walls.

+ The puzzles are great. Some are headscratchers, but it's satisfying when you complete them. There's no hints, so make that brain work!
+ Great voice acting.
+ Controls are simple. I used keyboard and mouse and had no problems playing the game.
+ Visuals are fantastic.
+- Short game. Can be completed in 3 hours.
+- Lore is interesting, but it leaves unanswered questions when the ending is reached.

Score: 8 out of 10. Recommended. Buy it on sale because it's such a short game.

Me ha gustado mucho este juego, su contexto y narrativa me parecen de lo mas remarcable, si bien no es nada del otro mundo a nivel de puzzles no creo que todos los juegos necesiten serlo. Y para mi este es un caso, Los recursos narrativos de las sombras en los personajes me parecen brillantes y tiene detalles de un atino tremendo. Merece mucho la pena sobretodo en oferta que ronda los 2.50 dolares

Epitome of a short, but sweet game. Very original take on the platforming genre with a clear amount of passion behind it. The story is charming and heartwarming with great voice acting and the art direction is great as well (though I'm biased due to art deco and art nouveau being my favorite cultural aesthetics). My only criticisms is that its a bit janky and a bit too short for my taste and the music (though also great) could've had a few more tracks featured. Would've loved to see a sequel for this game with a bigger budget, but alas I highly doubt that'll ever happen. Still glad that Compulsion Games is at least still around making other genuine pieces of video game art amidst the myriad of soulless slop plaguing the industry nowadays.

Скорее да чем нет, но толкьо из-за того что игра короткая.
Концептуально она интересная, художественное оформление включая музыку на высоте.
История ну так, ее не так много и она не так важна.
Но движок... Это катастрофа. Ну нельзя в игру с механиками на тени добавлять объемное перемещение источника света или тени. Без этих моментов я бы просто поворчал на баги и сказал движок - говно, а так это сильно подпортило впечатление от игры. Была бы она подлиннее раза в полтора-два, я бы скипнул. А так поиграть стоит, как минимум воскрешение быстро работает.

Contrast is a charming puzzle platformer set in a gorgeous 1920s noir world that I found genuinely hard to put down, even if it only lasted about 3-4 hours. The shadow-shifting mechanic — jumping between 3D and 2D by merging with shadows on the wall — is a clever and creative idea that feels fresh, and the jazz-infused soundtrack is absolutely stunning. The story follows little Didi and her imaginary friend Dawn through some surprisingly emotional family themes, told with real heart and great voice acting. The controls can be a bit clunky and the puzzles are rarely challenging, but the atmosphere and music more than carry the experience. If you enjoy atmospheric indie games with a unique mechanic and don't mind a shorter playtime, I'd definitely recommend picking this one up, especially on sale.

Le mélange entre la 2D et la 3D est vraiment sympa, même si les plateformes et puzzles restent assez simples dans l’ensemble et quasi identiques dans leurs mécaniques tout au long du jeu.
L’histoire quant à elle, est correcte.
Les musiques sont agréables, même s’il y en a très peu.
La direction artistique et l’ambiance ont un charme.
Le gameplay est simple à prendre en main même aujourd’hui, car il ne faut l'oublier le jeu date de 2013.

Un juego corto pero muy original incluso a día de hoy.

Lo original del juego es que alternaremos entre el 3d y el 2d en momentos para movernos en las sombras que se proyectan y las usaremos tanto en secciones de plataformas como de puzzles.

Artísticamente el juego es muy bonito con estilo de los años 20-30 con personajes caricaturescos estilo cartoon.

Muy recomendable si te gustan los juegos de plataformas y puzzles, aunque sea corto (Unas 3 horas de duración aproximadamente)

也属于平台跳跃+收集！
玩家首先需要收集光球，然后解谜。
过程中带着平台跳跃。

主角叫黎光，在一个特别的世界里，那个世界扭曲变形，而且除了蒂蒂以外没有人能看到她。
主角有超能力：
1、能进入影子并从影子里出来（开场解锁）
2、撞碎脆弱木墙（第一章解锁）
3、影子里穿过窄墙（第二章解锁）

其实这游戏的角色并不多，但都透着生活的辛酸。
鼎鼎有名的大魔术家文森佐自从助手黎光消失后就一蹶不振，也只能演一些小魔术混混日子。
歌手凯特为文森佐生了蒂蒂，但文森佐却以事业为重忽略母女，导致最后分道扬镳。
强尼过去总是混子，并花言巧语在凯特失落的时候忽悠了她，但至少强尼会照顾蒂蒂，因此蒂蒂认强尼为养父。可强尼身上欠了一屁股债，过去还写假票入狱，后来凯特赶走了强尼···
剧情开始后强尼打算改过自新举办马戏团还钱，在黎光和蒂蒂的帮忙下勉强回归正轨···

剧情流水账：

第一章：
开场蒂蒂的母亲凯特让蒂蒂早点上床睡觉。她还要去鬼音酒吧演唱。但蒂蒂想父亲，还想出去玩。
从屋子里的收集的物品那得知，主角叫黎光，是蒂蒂除了父母外唯一的好友。
母亲离开后蒂蒂就从窗户爬下楼，黎光利用墙上的影子到达楼下帮蒂蒂推动障碍物下楼。凯特对蒂蒂之前夜晚偷溜出去非常生气···

前往鬼音剧院，这里有个演唱，点亮聚光灯后演唱开始，能看到蒂蒂母亲开始唱歌，没多久发现蒂蒂父亲强尼出现，凯特和强尼即兴一段后去了幕后说话。
蒂蒂和黎光偷听了他们的对话，似乎凯特嫌弃强尼吹牛皮且没钱赶走了他，但强尼还是希望凯特和他去精益酒店526房聊聊。

蒂蒂和黎光跟着强尼前往酒吧，听到强尼和魔术师文森佐的聊天，强尼想借魔术表演的胶片一晚给投资人看，但对方不同意认为他的名气够大了投资人肯定知晓，不过却知道胶片就在楼上办公室。对方也打听过强尼的情况，强尼现在负载状态并不像表面那么风光，除非先收到定金否则免谈。

蒂蒂和黎光在酒吧2楼办公室获得胶片后前往电影院。
进入电影院蒂蒂和养父强尼在荧幕前见面，强尼正打算组建马戏团，蒂蒂一直想说她拿到了胶卷，但强尼却自顾自说暂时和凯特保密，但是要蒂蒂快回家，并且他要见2名客户，客户可不喜欢小孩···
蒂蒂离开后强尼见到了合作伙伴卡罗嗯和舒维奥，对方看到强尼没影片就觉得他又在耍他们于是开始殴打强尼，等黎光放映胶卷时候强尼的手指打断了···
强尼欠着2个合作伙伴钱，如果马戏团不成强尼就凉了。不过接下来强尼要见凯特了，为此合作伙伴一块去···

前往精益酒店，在大厅就听到合作伙伴在谈论凯特前面刚把她老公忽悠好，解谜前往5楼，帮蒂蒂开门，顺带看强尼和凯特的聊天。

原来蒂蒂并非强尼和凯特的女儿，而是文森佐和凯特的女儿。强尼和凯特算外遇，但至少强尼和蒂蒂的关系很好并且过去一直是强尼照顾着蒂蒂，直到凯特赶走强尼。

不过现在他们的关系变差了，凯特甚至掏出枪，要么崩了强尼要么本了自己，只有放蒂蒂进来他们才会在蒂蒂的说服下表面重归于好，至少强尼要先断开和那些坏朋友的往来。

第二章：
一段时间后黎光再次找到了蒂蒂，强尼的马戏团来镇子上了，虽然他总是夸大其词然后出现问题···
文森佐是蒂蒂的亲爹，蒂蒂打算找他谈谈。凯特和强尼重归于好了，甚至连他们的照片都从地下室摆到过道了。但现在的问题更严重，凯特面临房租到期问题，蒂蒂面临被儿童福利院拉走的问题。

前往马戏团的路上黎光解锁了冲刺穿过较窄的阴影的能力。到达马戏团就看到强尼和文森佐的对话，文森佐称马戏团太拉跨了，设备垃圾甚至没有公主。

黎光和蒂蒂准备修复3处游乐设施。
分别是海盗船、热气球、剧场3部分。都比较费脑或者废操作，都是些平台跳跃来回切换。

修复后回到马戏团帐篷，文森佐和强尼对话，强尼说为了妻儿他打算改过自新，不过文森佐的魔术要他自己亲自维护。

不过蒂蒂还没和文森佐对话呢，于是蒂蒂和黎光跟着文森佐前往他的工作室。

第三章：
蒂蒂询问路人得知文森佐的工作室在大钟楼，进入钟楼解谜帮忙蒂蒂开门。
蒂蒂见到了自己的亲生父亲文森佐，可他却不认识她···
蒂蒂告诉文森佐身份并说她能作为助手帮忙时却被文森佐拒绝，因为过去蒂蒂弄坏了文森佐的精密设备他花了1周才修好···此时蒂蒂哭了，文森佐又开始埋怨蒂蒂和凯特一样之前每周都在哭，最后还是建议蒂蒂跟着凯特比较合适···

马戏团演出继续，文森佐刚上台就因为电源问题跳匝凉了，合伙人又开始数落强尼，观众不耐烦就会开始打算退钱，退钱了强尼就没钱还给合伙人···

蒂蒂和黎光则开始考虑如何恢复演出，必须要照亮舞台！于是前往灯塔，黎光进入灯塔一路上到灯塔顶楼。

这座灯塔上还有文森佐和黎光的合影，原来黎光是文森佐的助手！过去文森佐的拿手好戏是大变活人，但某次表演后助手黎光就在舞台上消失了，这就是开场玩家能捡到报纸上的新闻，警方找不到什么有力证据文森佐则被释放。

上到顶楼的时候还能看到凯特和强尼的对话，强尼过去没干啥好事总是花言巧语大摇大摆回来，凯特已经不再信任他，但现在强尼打算改过自新并希望有个家···也许有了家人才能让他振作（万一他发现没效果呢！？）
虽然凯特女儿蒂蒂和黎光不断给强尼料理那些细节。

到达灯塔顶端，将探照灯照向舞台···

演出很成功，跟着蒂蒂前往后台，后台强尼也意识到自己夸下海口却做不到，最后还是靠蒂蒂帮忙勉强完成。

蒂蒂在文森佐、凯特、强尼面前说她不仅修好了灯塔，还有木偶戏、海盗船···强尼以此将蒂蒂推荐给文森佐希望文森佐能让她作为助手或者其他什么的。

强尼也意识到文森佐有钱有名，强尼希望凯特和蒂蒂都能过上好日子而不是和他一样颠沛流离···只有文森佐才能给她们带来安稳的生活···强尼只会越搞越糟···
不过最后凯特还是接受了强尼而非文森佐···也许她们知道自己想要的是什么。

文森佐也打算带着蒂蒂试试，毕竟蒂蒂是文森佐的女儿。而且文森佐似乎也意识到黎光一直在帮忙照顾着蒂蒂···

It's hard to go against the grain where there are many people that have enjoyed the game. And it has some somewhat strong points that could make it enjoyable. But it is a glitchy mess. I wanted Contrast the best chance but the controls have beaten me. The puzzles were charming at first but they started to feel repetitive fast, despite the short duration of the game.

If the game focused on the story+puzzle elements, I feel like the controls wouldn't be such an issue and the game would actually feel more charming. However, the game put in enough platforming elements for it to be frustrating. The moment that my character couldn't jump a ledge the height of her shoulders in act three despite clearing much bigger jumps during the game broke me. Respawning in a very random places after falling into the void was almost an insult.

Because of the controls, finding collectibles started to just be frustrating. Maybe it's because the art style didn't really grab my attention. But I didn't really feel like trying to get behind every nook and cranny because your character bounced off of the 9/10 of them in a way that you were not sure if you just failed the platforming element or it's impossible to get there, so you try a couple of times to try to make sure, and then that 10th time there is actually a collectible.

In act 2, I had to exit the game in the middle of the act. The game didn't save the collectibles I collected at the start of the act but still spawned me after a point of no return (or I didn't see a way back but honestly, I didn't know I should've returned until too late). I won't even comment on that further.

The story told by the collectibles was pretty interesting, at least in the first act. If the game kept them similar to the puzzle pieces, filling into the story, that would be an interesting approach.

It's a shame. Not my type of game I guess but the glitches and the messy controls left me with enough frustration for me to leave the negative review.

A delightful little puzzle platformer. Aggressively french, but charming none the less. Actually, it's more of a noir tale with suprisingly emotional and mature themes in it's story. The art style is beautiful and evokes a liminal, dream-like feeling, which is welcome. The music, atmosphere, and voice acting are all really well done. They even got Adam Jensen. The only fault in the presentation is the animations will look, at times, pretty stiff. The mechanics are really cool, but the game is succinct enough that they don't overstay their welcome, and stay novel throughout. Easy reccomendation for puzzle and/or platform lovers!

This is a short game. It consists on 3 short acts, and each act has a few puzzles that you must solve in order to progress.

The gimmick in Contrast is that it's not a platformer in the traditional sense. The protagonist (a little girl) has an imaginary (?) friend (the character you use) that can turn into a shadow to interact with other shadows being cast by a light source.

I'm not sure if I'm biased because I've played puzzle games recently, but Contrast didn't feel challenging at all. So do try it out if you like relaxing gameplay. Additionally, it seemed to me that the puzzles in Act III were considerably more well crafted than those found in Act I and II.

At times it feels like a demo for something bigger, and I kept expecting complexity and difficulty to grow (which never really happened), and then when I got the hang of everything and am ready for something greater, the game is over.

- Soundtrack: jazz
- Graphics: they hold up well despite its age

- Story: the big reveal at the end was a nice touch, but on the grand scheme of things the story isn't anything special or extraordinary, the stakes are low and it's pretty much an anecdote

- Collectibles: the photos, drawings, newspaper notes etc. I understand, but the luminaries feel completely pointless, as there are no discernible changes in the game whether you collect them or not, they're just collectable for the sake of it

As a final note, my gameplay seems much longer because I used a trading card farming tool. In reality it took me about 3h to finish the game.

🌙 Avis sur Contrast

J’ai lancé Contrast un peu par curiosité… et je me suis laissée happer. Vraiment.
C’est le genre de jeu qui ne cherche pas à en faire trop, mais qui te prend doucement la main et t’emmène ailleurs, quelque part entre rêve et jazz. 🎷✨
On ne se contente pas de jouer : on flirte avec les ombres, on change avec les lumières et on savoure chaque contour de décor.

🎶 Une bande-son juste incroyable

Déjà, la musique… quelle claque. Un jazz doux, parfois mélancolique, parfois chaleureux, qui donne l’impression d’être assis dans un vieux cabaret. Même quand on ne joue pas, on a envie de laisser tourner le jeu juste pour l’écouter. 🎶

🎨 Des décors dignes d’un rêve en clair-obscur

Et puis les décors. Franchement, ils sont magnifiques. Tout est basé sur la lumière et l’ombre, et le jeu en fait quelque chose de vraiment poétique. Passer du monde réel aux ombres, marcher sur des silhouettes projetées sur les murs… ça ne vieillit pas, ça garde toujours ce petit “wahou”.

📖 Une belle histoire

Mais Contrast n’est pas qu’un joli tableau : c’est aussi une histoire touchante. On y suit Didi, petite fille, accompagnée de son amie imaginaire, Dawn. Ensemble, elles traversent souvenirs et énigmes, offrant une narration subtile et pleine d’émotion, un peu comme une vieille histoire de cabaret racontée à la lueur d’une bougie.

💫 Pour conclure

Contrast, ce n’est pas un jeu parfait, mais c’est un jeu avec une âme.
Un jeu qui te fait ralentir, écouter, regarder.
Un jeu qui te rappelle que parfois, l’ombre peut être aussi belle que la lumière.

Во первых Steam нагло врет, в игре есть русская локализация (только текст, и перевод записок-текстур).

А так, это приятный пазл-платформер рассказывающий историю маленькой девочки и её подружки с уникальным даром, способности становится тенью, на основе которой и строится весь геймплей.

Игра отлично идет на SteamDeck, имеет легкую платину, проходится часа за 3-5 (в зависимости как вы затупите на последнем этапе и будете ли получать 100% достижений без гайдов).

Визуально игра сделана красиво, атмосфера Франции 1920-х годов, легкий нуар и просто шикарный джаз-блюз в качестве саундтрека.

Из минусов: сюжет не докручен, чтение найденных записок обязательно для понимания сюжета и погружения, теневых головоломок мало, хотя идея предоставляет просто кучу возможных комбинаций, которых лишь малое количество в игре.
[h1] Графомания с вкраплением полезности [/h1]
Меня игра подкупила атмосферой и музыкой. Сюжет который подается геймплейно не так глубок, как тот, который раскрывается через записки. Честно, я собирал всякие коллектоблс только ради погружения в лор, но жаль лор не докручен.

Вся история будто скомкана в третьем акте, первые два ровные, с плавным повествованием и развитием геймплейных механик, но третий будто сделан на скорую руку при нехватке бюджета. Складывается такое ощущение, что планировалось 5+ актов, но по итогу сделали 3.

На SteamDeck играть приятно, это отличная игра для залипания на часик перед сном лежа в кровати. Правда, автосохранения немного косячные, но это нивелируется скоротечностью игры.

Достижения легкие, все можно взять (я взял) за одно прохождение, с последующим выбором глав и добиванием. Надо собрать все коллектбл в 3 актах (что легко без гайдов), сделать ситуативные трофеи (что можно сделать после прохождения), и пройти два платформенных этапа без смерти (что легко, если что просто загружаете последний чекпойнт).

В сухом остатке игра 5 из 10 с послевкусием недожаренного кофе. На SteamDeck или на игру на ночь самое то. Ну или вы хотите пощупать "новую" механику теней.

'Contrast' feels like stepping into a smoky, jazz-soaked dream—drifting between a surreal 3D world & its mesmerizing 2D shadow realm with a flick of the wrist. A nice, relatively short 3D puzzle platformer that's let down a bit by a couple of puzzles being a bit rough around the edges near the end of the game and the collecting of luminaries that don't seem to matter that much. Otherwise, the puzzles and setting are pretty imaginative, and makes me wish there were more games that took place during the Roaring 20's. Worth checking out when on sale.

So close. So close to a recommend. The concept and the aesthetic are good. But the execution is lacking, and the aesthetic sometimes gets in the way of the gameplay. I'd say it's maybe a 6/10 but the kind of 6/10 I can't recommend.

Most of the puzzles are too obtuse - they give you a vague goal and nothing more. The rest are more straightforward but drag on and on and on...

The setting is cool looking. But there are no waypoint and there's no map, so when the game says to go somewhere, have fun wandering around.

Don't take me wrong, it's a good game and I did finish it. Because I enjoyed 2d platforming parts and the general concept but the controls are terrible and the way camera moves was giving me headache and nausea, so I only could play in short sessions and absolutely could not play on the big screen. And I probably won't find it in me to go back and get the remaining achievements also. If you tend to get nauseous from rapid camera movements in 3d games, do not get this one. Because if you do start it, you might be compelled to finish it, and you'll suffer all the way though.

I remember getting Contrast for free on PS Plus at the launch of the PS4 but I never finished it. This game is of its time, meaning it's just ... old and has that older indie game jank that you understand going in that will most likely be there. This by no means the game is unplayable or even bad. It plays just fine, but just remember its age.

The story is nothing shooting for the moon, but it's a good experience. The vibe for the time period is well captured in the music, dialogue, and aesthetic of the game. The concept of the character you control using shadows to traverse and manipulate the environment is really cool and well done, here. It's a puzzle game, basically, and some of them might leave you stumped for a bit, but none of them will leave you stranded.

Given the low cost of entry (especially if you land it on sale) I definitely recommend it. It's about 3-4hrs depending on how stumped you get. I'd love a modern day followup of some kind.

Contrast is a wonderful game. Not perfect. But whimsical and charming. Maybe its the father in me, but having the plot driven by a plucky little girl was moving. Much more so than the overly dramatic and self congratulatory AAA games I've played in the last few years. The art style is excellent. The puzzles fun, but not overly challenging that you feel forced to look up guides. The controls are a little stiff, but honestly work quite well for the game. Its all just so fresh and original.

And here's something I never thought I'd say about a game: It is refreshing to play a game you can enjoy over a couple of evenings rather than a couple of months. Its short and still very satisfying right up to when the credits roll. I love the ending. EVEN THE CREDITS ARE GOOD. Short, great music, and done.

This game left me literally with a smile on my face. So glad I played it.

Contrast é um jogo bem curto, terminei em menos de 3 horas. Tem boas atuações nas vozes, a história é legalzinha, a ambientação e o visual são bonitos, as músicas são bem feitas e a ideia de mudar entre o mundo 3D e o das sombras é interessante.

O jogo no entanto, sofre um pouco no quesito jogabilidade. A personagem se move de uma maneira meio desengonçada, o que acaba às vezes fazendo você ir parar onde não quer. Houveram alguns bugs na minha jogatina, algumas vezes a personagem ao sair da sombra era transportada pra uma parte totalmente aleatória da tela. Não é nada que atrapalhasse muito, só uma constatação.

O jogo poderia ter tido um polimento mais cuidadoso, mas fora isso, achei que valeu a pena. Paguei 4,99 numa promoção, está de bom tamanho.
